we are still waiting to get into see the neurologist - kiwi public health system sucks tho we did have another mri last friday and waiting to see the neurosurgeon to get results on that
not so much inoperable jc its the fact that they dont know how long its been there and just want to monitor it at this stage because its only 5.6mm in diameter

Dorens, so many medical people don't tell the patients how to fit them properly or how to use them. I go up to total strangers and try to correct them if they are doing it wrong. other thing i often did, if there is a rail, through one crutch down the stairs, then use the other crutch and the rail to slowly hop down one stair at a time, thn pick crutch up at the bottom

another good idea... nef gave me a website that was very good and they advocated using the rail, and holding both crutches in the other hand if possible, but i could imagine throwing it down

I always found that using the 2 crutches under the one arm worked best for stairs myself. If I threw a crutch down, by the time I got down there I usually didn't want to bend over and pick it up again (I'm a bit lazy when hobbling around)
keep me in the loop. perhaps something a bit more moderate, thinking of some who might want to go but the same as last time would be prohibitiv

remember to take eyeball breaks every 15 minutes or so -- look around the room, or out a window if you can.
Otherwise, your eyes get tired faster.

I got cheater glasses this past year, and bifocals, too -- my old eyes couldn't handle looking from book or computer to the lecturers for my classes.
