Hey Eva!

We are fine, Eva. And you?
Hi Merk
still battling a cold/allergies/something over here... back to work today, though...
Hi, Hego. I'm at my cousins, intending to go home, but there's a lot of fog so rather than test the driving, I decided to babble a bit while she checks her email.
Eva, you turned into a turkey!, Cute
yes, im all ready for thanksgiving. :)
For the first time in recent memory, I am not hosting Thanksgiving. My nephew is doing the honors and all I had to prepare was my famous apple pie. It's in the freezer ready to bake for the big day.
we usually alternate between my family + chris's on thanksgiving. this year is technically my familys turn, but my mom is in Australia this month, so his family wins out and gets us yet again. :)
Right attitude. Lucky family
I've had my coffee, but it's Monday morning and I must be brain dead. I am stumbling over the easiest words.

Hello, Becca Lorum! How are you?
Very well thanks Haz.
BRB door bell
That's good. (That you're well, not that the door has gone)
Back again
Last time we spoke, the baby wasn't well. I take it he's okay again?
no one intersting at the door?
Are you well Haz?
Man to measure a window but he hasn't got a ladder so he's coming back later
I'm fine, thanks, Becca. Hoping for some longer grids some day soon.
He's very well too Haz - sleeping just now
So, your chance to have a little babble time!
I only seem to be here when the grids are tiny and really diffiult or enormous. I haven't finished one in ages.
We seem to have had a run of not very big grids. The small ones can be a bit of a worry because the words aren't exactly well known sometimes.
I'm terrible at small grids! They always seem to be full of really obscure words
Just like today's grid, in fact.
Yes, although there have been worse.
well i have gotten no where fast. I think i will go off to work
bbl
See you later, jmc.
bye jmc
Bye jmc. Have a good day at work.
o no my stats panels are gone D:
see you later jmc
You must have signed up more than 2 weeks ago, reen. Stats disappear after that, unless you choose to take out pro membership.
No fireworks on completion either.
im too poor!
Well, you can still use Lickety's list etc, that will help somewhat.
I've got "Fireworks" !@#$%^&*()_ Bye all till tomorrow.
PLease could I have a clue for the u word?
Well done, rumple! See you tomorrow.
bye rumple
Congratulations rumple, and bye.

THanks pabtrek.

clues plz????????
Give a robotic ending to the stone (ag5)
ga7 - a very special cuppa
ty got ag 7
Is the 8 related to one of the 7s?
cuppa?????????????
No, it's a kind of combination of lots of the io words.
Cup. As used to drink.
Hmm, better find some io words then.
Still on c at the moment so it will have to wait.
Or put the consumed food ending to the io5/12. (think stingy antiseptic)
Thank you Haz.
You're welcome, Becca.
Haz, can you clue either of the te 6,21 s pls?
te6 - both are musical terms and only differ from each other in the last vowel used. Follow a number with the initials of a sort of infection.
Hmmmm. ty haz
Or, te plus what a squirrel likes to hide/eat, wrap up with a vowel (two different ones)
Sigh. Another small grid.
ty hz. Hi judi
Hello, Judi. Le understanding sigh.
You're welcome, hego.
I think Dr. God has put us on a Babble di4/5.
Haz, do you know all these words, or do you have very hard-working monkeys?
lol judi
No, I know some of them, the rest I find by using hints by earlier babblers, combined with Lickety's list and morewords.
Then I try to remember some of them for the next time.
The short answer, Becca, is: Haz cheats.
Oh, good, that makes me feel better. I have Lickety's list and morewords open too.
Darn. My secret is out.
It's not cheating, it is using tools effectively.
I cheat big time.
Thank you, Becca. Let's direct a great big raspberry in Judi's direction.
*Joins in raspberry blowing*
I have just seen on the news that students are being allowed to use the internet during exams, so if that's not cheating, using extra info for Babble is certainly not cheating!
Satisfying, isn't it?
I should expand on that by saying, Haz cheats like the rest of us.
Where is this outrage taking place, Becca?
England I think - A-level Danish, or something
We use research tools effectively - isn't that the right phrase?
I can't imagine that many people take A-level Danish.
No, Denmark. http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/b log/2009/may/11/danish-internet-exams
Crazy, in my opinion.
It'll probably spread. My sister-in-law is a teacher and declares that some of her students seem to think she's letting them down by not doing their exams for them.
I was interested in the concerns over plagiarism. My husband is a lecturer and has such a lot of plagiarism to deal with now, because students just lift whole blocks of information from the internet.
although he says it is easy to spot because an essay will go from poor grammar and expression to perfect writtten English!
bye for now all and tx
clue na 5/10 please
I can imagine!
Bye hego.
Bye hego, have a good day.
bye hego
na5/10 - to do with birth, same as a province of South Africa.
ty haz
You're welcome, sixty.
\baby awake now so time for me to go. Bye everyone.
Bye, Becca, nice to see you again.
really? that's a province in South Africa?
I'd better check. It is in my head, better check if it is in reality.
Yes, now known as Kwa-Zulu-Na5/10
There's also a city named Na5/10 in Brazil.
well need to go for now bbl. every1 have fun *poof*
Bye for now, sixty.

Well done, zooz - enjoy your day!

Kind of.
thanks, sort of a normal word, eh?
The complete opposite of stay in.
does anyone know the stats for the lone t?
I think it's ti5/10
yup, thanks!
You're welcome.
what about the ga7?
ga 7 - ends in a beverage, starts with a special kind of day/event.
thanks, that can be my new word for the day
You're welcome.
It's a type of fabric, apparently.
OKay, armed with my new knowledge of another fabric I'm never going to be sewing, time to head off and do some errands. Have a nice day!
Fireworks!

Oh for crying out loud; I was starting from the wrong places....
:-) thats what i do all the time
Anyone have the 'z'?
I wouldn't mind, except I was only missing a D from the top right, so there was really no excuse for looking at the other tile
down to final word

I should get my blood test results back tomorrow to see what bleurgh I've officially got
EvaN
every year, when my allergies kick in, i always think its a cold. this time, i started out with cold meds, which didnt really help. switched over to my allergy meds which sorta helped, but not entirely. after a chat with the pharmacist, i am now taking my allergy meds + a cough med. not totally helping, but better than i was!

Yes, add the robot ending...
ok, thank you! =)
Un + two vowels
TY!
ok, have to run, have a great day everyone!
You too Sea!
evening everyone
Hello Katie!
what is a robot ending ?
the end of an andr***
another name for one is andr***....babblers often refer to the last three letters as the "robot ending"
ty got it...is there a place I can learn the babblers lingo I've seen the phrase "a babblet" etc
Clue for ti 6/18 please?
not really, it's just a learning curve :P
oooo okey doke I didn't want to be pesty I appreciate your patience with me! :o)
*grin* weve all been there
some of us where much younger then lol
some of us were here before the babble lingo :P
MPitt smiles back, makes note to self "save Ata a piece of my hootchy turkey"
ok, how do you really spell titilate?
Some of us are prehistoric. Like when there were only 35 people or so playing the game.
yep!
titillate
thank you Ata, will save it for a future grid ;)
point score for the z please
4/9
4/9 Katie
Gail...you mean "even a caveman" can babble? LOL
ty
Yep, it's that easy.
well...not always that easy, pondering and scratching head and remembering a recent grid...*grin*
half the words were in caveman language
chuckle...Ata you are skippy!
This one is taxing my brain on a Monday.
this one would tax a brain on any day Gail
I didn't even get half way before listing today
hints on the 8?
io8/45, sort of extends from the 6 that follows it
got the 6, but not quite noodling the 8 yet...
io + loud noise + had a meal
ahh, TY :)
yw, just don't ask me to clue the oi5 !
MP are you still here?
had to resort to morewords for that one
yes jmc...just spacing out a bit...that darn blonde hair I guess LOL
are you coming to lunch on Saturday?
jmc where????
*imaging ata in a fur one shoulder jumper*
at Mam Ayesha's at 2 pm
would be gorgeous
*Mama
what is mam ayesha's?
it used to be the Calvert Cafe (near woodley park)
but i think your hair doesn't quite fit with the outfit ata
it does most of the time lol
DC, Lil Monkey, and me and some others are meeting for lunch
must have caught you on a good hair day
my hair just *is*
http://www.mamaayeshas.com//?location. html
I'll have to check if I can...busy weekend with the holiday and all...it sounds like fun...thanks for the invite...will get back to ya on it...I think Ata looks perfectly devine in that off the shoulder fur...so in right now!
Ata's wearing furs? Other than Hobbit and Silys?
apparently so!
ata the cavewoman
UNIIIIII!!!!
I once paid over $100 to get my hair done by a chi-chi hairdresser (had to have an appointment just to get him to decide if he wanted to do your hair) and it looked exactly the same afterwords except puffier
fake fur no doubt
$100! I wish I could get my hair done for that much, espceially up in London
I get my hair done for $15 from the same woman who has done it since I was ten. I love her.
maybe if you wore that fur in...hmmmm
I'm just reading an article about the translucent jumbo octopus and all the other new sea creatures found. Very cool!
that was in 1970's which in today's dollars is about $380
very very verrrrry cool
gosh I love her too uni --- maybe I should come up there
*imagining a translucent octopus*
mine is usually about £80!
mine's £70 down here, but up in London it used to be about £160
I need to book an appointment to get my hair cut when i go home still. Remember!
Mine is free because I gave up on it. I get it cut every two years whether it needs it or not -- by my sister
how' Emma the CoG?
I cut my own hair with a $12 hair clipper ..
husband thinks I shuld do the same
when are you next going home uni and I will put on my calendar to remind you
She was just biting my hand, which implies she is in good spirits. I forgot to talk to her as soon as I walked in the house and she is a bit miffed.
awwwww, you can't forget the cat!
hair clippers don't work well on long hair trog
*giggle* torg
Amazing Uni...if I wake up in the wee hours and squint my eyes really tight and tilt my head just right the man I married looks like a beautiful sea creature, a merman...of course this works really well after a night of margueritas and such...
I wrote it in my agenda. Likely a better reminder.
what was the clue for the U? The chog has moved past it an I forgot.
And wahoo for margueritas! It's even Monday! Although I tend to make daiquiris due to a lack of tequila.
I dared to go to the toilet when I got in from work and Crumble barged through the door demanding attention and to be fed, she really needs to know that there is a time and place and that was neither
How's Hobbit and Sily?
*sulks at uni's disparaging remark*
Emma butts up against the door until itn opens or we open it when we use the loo. It's one of her places. She needs to be there.
I LOVE IT WHEN I HEAR THAT OTHER PEOPLE CUT THEIR OWN HAIR
Aww, *soothes jmc's feathers* I just mean that my babbling is not all that reliable!
yesterday hubby and i went to "Mr walter's" and had our hair done
and clearly you are so excited you are shouting about it! lol
I work on the principle that they have trained for years for a reason and I haven't so let them at it
mr walter is our sone and he did all three of us which would have cost about 100 $ and a cut rate salon
oo well I am probably hypersensative uni -- (just trying to fit in) ;-)
I have curly hair. No-one cuts my hair but the one person who has done it right every time.
and we all look great
Are we being hypersensitive today? Let me try! :)
hobbit and sily are fine :) hobbit's sulking cos she didn't get a walk today
makes sense uni, my hair is pretty straight and all it needs is a chopped across the bottom
poor abused hobbit
Neglect! Abuse! Starvation! I can see her muscles degrading from here.
*looking up animal rescue league's phone number*
I know! It's awful. Only two short bounces around the garden all day
Pretty soon she'll be nothing but a fur.
then ata can wear her
she's wasting away
Oh, I cut my own hair, too! One day a woman came in the office and said "tell me where you get your hair cut, so I can go there and get the same style."
I'll have to send FM over to save Hobbit from the horrors of her life.
did you charge her for the hair cut? lol
I won't cut anybody else's hair, I would totally mess it up.
Oh, I have a visitor. Must go! Lovely to see you all. Watch out for furs and starving cockers.
bye uni!
bye dear!
I would think it was harder to cut your own hair -- I am constantly butchering my bangs
sorry to interrupt can someone clue DA5/12 please
I just tell myself I will go get it cut if I spoil it, and go on from there. I have left the house looking odd a few times, but I don't care.
obviously Babble doesn't speak Canadian, since it isn't accepting "toonie"
but does it take poutine
DA5/12 haS one more consonant in it.
well that's the REAL question, i guess
thx gail
And today I drove for the first time in three months. Doctor said if I could get a shoe on the foot, I could drive.
yay!!
so where did you go?
oh, wonderful, gail!
I hope I get the shoe back on at the end of the day. I have to be in the boot when I am walking.
I went to work, of course.
you should have went someplace fun
One more consonant than what??
da5 as di5
dial
Oh, but work is so much fun!
oooooooops
Probably would have made sense if I had the di5 ..
di5 :P
Yup ..
LOL ata
;)
that was actually quite a clever clue
I was at physical therapy this morning, which is right next door to our office and went through the back door. My border collie waited until the boss was busy and figured out how to open the door and came looking for me, the she and the PT dog had a great time racing back and forth between the two offices.
I thought so LOL
awwwwwwwwwwww
He was VERY pleased with himself when he appeared in the treatment room I was in.
I bet!
I had been gone longer than usual, so he got tired of waiting for me, and nobody saw him sneak through the door.
That is very cute
brb
Done, Gone. *poof*
so what is di5?
(got tired of waiting for the u clue)
:

O = ou5.16 compound - usually has ings on the end

Hmmm...working on both of those...
I = id5.12, a fool
the second column a is a long time
I resemble that remark, lynxxx! :)
down to the 2 O's now....

Hard to tell what the single T is, but there are 4 ta4.4
I can't do Ts today
boycotting ata?
I think I should
that would make it hard to finish the grid
that's the only problem
ti5/10 is the singleton
You only have Ts left?

hi all...im a bridge widow this evening...so can anyone think of a good reason why i shouldn't just snuggle up in bed and watch tv?
Babble?
hi Rolin. only of you don't have chocolate to eat in bed as well
this grid is not very friendly...you have to admit
ro, that sounds like a perfect plan
rolin i would say snuggle up with a good book, a glass of wine or something and some choclit
i agree rolin, it's awful
and indeed...now i have a smart phone... and a notebook...i could babble curled up in bed...lol
jacq.... i like your thinking
never been so stumped in my years. 3 C words and I can't find one of them. Not that I'm asking for clues.... Phantom: Zigurat

na = those greek temples (babblet)
Getting a late start, and probably missed it earlier, but anyone got a clue for the zo?
et = french needle babblet
zo4, z + 3 vowels, same as to4 babblet
i don't have li5
Thanks, rbud!
but would welcome a clue for ag7
li5 = li + what a dog wags, ***l
ag7 is same as the ag5 (stone) but drop last vowel and add a robotic ending
nice clue rbud :)

Hi everyone, how are you all doing? I am going v. slowly and I feel like an id5/12
li5,10 be on time don`t be ***e + **r (as in oxygen)
hello all
and to answer ata -- I am fine
na 4/4 = na + not short but ***l
although rbuds icon was making me dizzy
hi mich and reese
good. you're very strong
??? MP
na 4/4 = na + he is ***l dark and handsome
Hello, hello. MP means na5/10. (I know because I get mixed up with numbers as well)
that is na5/10
na5,10 i think that one is.
is there an na4/4?
Haz! You're up late!
whew I was gettin confused!
Either that or she's trying to slow you down in cunning fashion.
hi haz
yes there is Jmc
if i get much slower i will be at a stop
oops...my bad sorry jmc...blonde again... try this na + he struck **l
aa5?
Yikes, if haz is up late, I really need to go to bed, he is 2 hours behind us here.
It's not so much that I'm up late, just was checking e-mails and kind of couldn't resist saying hello etc.
so that was the clue i was asking for
very sensible :)
lovely to see you!
aa5/10 a consonant sandwiched between double helping of vowels.
ty MP!
thx haz, been fishing forever
Thank you! You too. I'm reading back in the log to see if I've missed anything.
hi shirl
Haz sorry but I would never be mean like that...especially to the nice people I have met on here and who have helped me so much...be good if you want turkey tonight
That aa word has appeared before but not often enough to just jump out at you.
hi all!
hi mag
Come, come, MP, you need to get some strategy going. Don't let this lot fool you into thinking they're nice and kind. Cutthroat competition underneath it all.
hey jmc- how are you?
*gasp*
*sticks a knife in her teeth*
Hello, magmom.
ouch!
oh! why hello haz, i havent seen you on since i started babbling again :P
I am fine mag
hi haz, ata, MP
Hello Reese's - how long did you stay away and why?
I give up folks, I\d better say good night before I convince myself to stick around & finish.
Bye bye
firebirds!
Good night Michnick.
Congratulations Ata!
whooo hooo ata!!!
bye mich
wtg ata!!
clue et 4/5 still elusive
I suppose they've all muttered about needlecases?
et + you + me
yep yep much muttering
et4/5 e plus the initials for an infection mixed up.
clues for the ou?
ty Ata...finally HS french paid off! LOL
And once you get it, MP, never, ever forget it for it is a babblet. It also appears (not in this grid) with a variant, phonetic spelling.
ty Haz...
(Lulling MP into a false sense of security with my clues and helpful advice)
ou5 - the exact opposite of stay in.
Haz I am too new to understand what a babblet is but I am trying hard...this is approx my eighth grid so I'm peddlin' uphill...
I suppose I'd better try and sleep. If one can sleep with a murderer on the loose in the same county!!! lol
well that's a little scary ata
*escaped murderer even
Murderer..what have i missed?
murderer?? are u for real?
A babblet (get a notebook and pen so that you can take notes) is a word that appears frequently in babble but rarely in real life. Things like etna and crwth and inia and nene.
scary!!!
Jane Andrews absconded from some women's prison in Kent - the woman who used to work for Fergie and killed her husband
Is it that Jane Andrews woman?
I saw that in the news. That woman just doesn't know when to give up.
yep, I'm sure they will find her dead though. Really sad
thx haz for the ou
there are at least a couple babblets in this grid - hi all!
and I was worried beacuse some committed an armed robbery at the house round the corner from me....murderer is a bit more scary
You're welcome, Shirlock.
oh wow im sorry ata
hi dan
So, not just a publicity stunt you think?
lol I think I'd be more worried with your scenario!
Hello, Dan
I don't think so. She was in hospital last week having tried to kill herself. And if you can't kill yourself in prison, what do you do when you're allowed outside .....
oh some guy was murdered in a gang shooting just up the street back in oct. and I live in a nice neighobrhood. lol
Oh dear. I hadn't heard that about her being in hospital. Maybe they'll catch up with her.
She'll hardly have sought advice from Fergie?
I hope so. Yes she's an attention seeking murderer. And shes obviously quite delusional and ill
mhhh the only scary thing ecer happening around here was an armed robbery where the cashier was shot, he lived thank god
*but shes ....
Absolutely. From time to time you get a story like hers and conclude that you couldn't make it up.
ever*
exactly! wonder who is already snapping up the film rights
Michael Winner?
ty haz...jotted them down...3 left for me ta5/14, te5/12, to4/4
If he can stir himself from the table.
this woman - by the way - from you lot over the pond, was the PA and dresser to Fergie after getting to work for royalty from a very pooor upbringing. she was let go, then was found guilty of killing her very rich boyfriend cos he wouldn't marry her. and then she made up all sorts of weird tales during her trial to excuse herself
ANYONE but Michael Winner!
ta5/14 - sounds a bit like a striped cat pronounced Boston style.
te6 clues?
wow- takes all kinds of crazy
te5/12 - insert two vowels into the middle of a beloved bear. (think Kennedy who has just died)
yep, got that, need the 5
te6 - both the same save for the final vowel. Take a number and follow it with the initials of the water infection. Change the final vowel for the other te6.
sorry, the 6
she's obviously utterly delusional as well as bad. It's just sad really. for everyone
thanks haz....how I despise that word LOL
to4/4 - a foot digit wrapped up with a vowel.
Note that the to4/4 is also considered a babblet.
must go feed my peeps... bbl to finish
You're welcome, magmom.
and the na4/4
Or for the to4/4 - to **ch their own.
Bye magmom.
I'd better wander off as well. Nice to see the later babblers and all the best for finishing.
ty haz got the to
Nighty night!
me too. it's late now!
PB for Atalante
too LATE :P *poof* :)
Just blow him a raspberry, Ata. I blew one at Judi earlier.
*gone*
lol
te6? anyone?
te6 a number + a hazel *** + letter
in fact there are two te6 and they both have a diff last letter :-)
thx zoo!
yw
still need ta 5/14 sounds like striped cat pron. boston style? and te5/12 favorite bear w 2 vowels in middle thing beloved kennedy that just died...I am stumped just these 2 left...
te+ last two lwtters of aa5 +letter
ta5 = what a dog wags - ***l + abbrev. for southern US state famous for its peaches
ty zooz...got it...don't understand Haz's clue even when I now have the word...oh well she was trying
yw Mpittore :-)
WOW..finally, ty all...my brain is tired...maybe it's dain bramage from the t's in this grid...LOL...well as promised I'm going to cook that cute purple turkey brb
congrats, MP!!
Well done MP, take care.
Time for bed for me, happy babbling all.
znooze wekk ziissiin
snooze well zoozzoom I said

Guten Abend, Friends. Just looking in and having typing problesm
bravo rbud
I liked the znooze part! ;)
Did everybody go to bed?
ty everyone...as you can see my turkey is now prepped for cooking...don't think he likes it much from his expression...back later..got to go fix my "merman" his dinner! LOL
hi all
for a view of MP
sturkey you need to refresh
Hi
t\\Hi TO
inge my icon on the chat is correct but when you click on it there is my first original PRO icon...what am I doing wrong???
you need to refresh to see the most recent icon
but I clicked the refresh so many times I'm so fresh I nearly had to slap myself LOL
i see the new one now pitt
you are OK now pitt
oh oh, my hubby is groaning something about being hungry...hey maybe being addicted to babble will cause weight loss but I'm the one that needs it not him *giggles* later y'all *poof*
bye, pitt!
bye Pitt
inge do you by any chance have ti5/10?
A ti 5/10 word is slang for breast 72 Temple Owl & hi.
yes, ti + color if you sit in sun
another vistim sucked in *evil cackle* y inge
or first five letters of the ship that hit an iceberg
ty inge
even
ti5/10 is Clash of the Ti***s. Wrong clue before, sorry
Hi, minver, how have you been?
*runs in and scatters choclits everywhere* hello all!!! *hugs inge and Min and TO and...*
how's the grid today?
not releasing words easily
*notices MPittore was here and is now PRO*
blah. oh well, good company anyway, I hope?
is the Z a fish?
*jumps in to gather chocolates* Hi Stidmama! Hi everyone!
her icon is cute too
hello dan!
I identify with the last-row-i-word
z+ 3 vowels
thanks for the Z!
thanks, inge!
hey Kris! sorry, stidkid is home and we were discussing his homework!
no worries. homework very impt
{{{stid}}}} got to go - have fun, all
Hi stid. Thanks for all the choclit!
later TO have a lovely evening
hey Bugs! how are you? How is your nephew? ((hugs))
He is home from the hospital now even though they are sticking close to home for a while yet. Thank you for all your kindness
right, Stid, do all your hugging here, not on Thanksgiving Day
wonderful. I am so pleased he is home! *more choclits to celebrate* and you are keeping yourself healthy and happy I hope?
why not on thanksgiving, inge? we don't actually "do" thanksgiving to be honest... sleep in, make yummy foods just because we can and "shelter in place" is our plan.
You get those warnings on TV too, right?
I am well and hope your whole family is too. Thanks
good. *stern mama look* all us babblers have to stay healthy! we must set an example! rofl
No hugging on Thanksgiving? What am I missing?
what warnings, inge? not that I watch much TV.
Hugging the guests increases chances of catching H1N1
Passing the plate of food won't?
Can't the sick people just stay home?
oh! yes, and I suppose sitting around the dining room table and rubbing elbows in the kitchen doesn't! *bah humbug mama look* if you are sick, stay home, and if you aren't, just wash your hands!
They recommend that
the H1N1 virus can be airborne for 20 feet, last on hard surfaces for 18 hours and soft surfaaces for 12
hi everyone
hey autumn!
In NC and Wales they have found flu cases tht are resistant to TAmaflu, and causes 3 deaths in NC\
I am happy to be home now, and will be at home for the next few days... mostly. I have much work to do, but no class for the time being.
hi autumn!
Hi Stid
yes, I saw that, inge! that is a frustration of an organism that mutates as quickly as influenza strains
And the H1N1 tried to kill my nephew who is very immundeficient with other compounding health issues and he won. So it is not that scary!! Be brave and eat turkey!
My brain-tumor-chemo-7-yr-old friend had H1N1 - went to hospital but recovered fine
hi kris
gee Kris, that is good that your friend is now home. I hope that the cancer abates as well.
cancer is terminal, but he's already years beyond what they had hoped for him
suddenly they say adults over 65 are also a risk group
*off to look at the grid*
(((Kris))) my heart is with you and his family.
I thought they were saying over 50; still waiting for that flu shot
I believe that everyone is probably at risk, I want to get a shot soon, before I am in schools regularly next quarter.
If my grocery store or doctor has teh vaccine, I will go. All those Detroit clinics are too far for me
thanks stidmama.
http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/luke defilippo
I say everyone is at risk, but my surviving grandmother and her father had (Spanish) avian flu in 1918, so likely retains some immunity.
anyone have a def. for the 8?
Good for you, stidmama!
he is a handsome young man, Kris! and what a trooper!
yes, he is - and recently in the philadelphia inquirer; adopted by the Rowan U. football team. Great bunch of guys
sorry, jean - don't have the 8
io 8: to impregnate with disinfectant
8? *faint* I really ought to look at the grid and the stats before I begin. *sigh*
thanks inge, perfect clue!
thank you inge!
down to 42... still have two untouched tiles
44 here and 3 untouched...
is the E fishy?
or the bottom-most O?
the needlecase
gah. yes, a fishy babblet
slap me with a needlecase
monkeyed the O
o u 5: opp of in and opp. of stop
great clue, inge!
OOps, needed in the living room. Bye, Gute Nacht
later inge, gute nacht!
oh -- have to go get elder stidkid from the grandparents. Back later. I love having a week "off" classes -- just as much work done, but a lot less commotion!
(((hugs all))) *poof*
hi everyone
evening all...here to finish...
hi everyone!
hi lbd ;)
are you all rested up now, Pini?
I think so, lbd...not sure...may need to catch a few extra winks tonight! :)
it's amazing how much longer it takes to recoup.
I see I just missed stid...I wonder how her trip went?
no kidding, lbd...especially when you're aging so gracefully! :)
gracefully...uh huh, sure. you probably are, i'm not so graceful. never have been. more like less klutzy
or more crabby. lol
* giggle *
nah...I can't see all that!
Would you, by chance, have a clue for the 2nd and 4th column O's?
oa + number after nine
not in + not stop
oooh, thx!! NBT! :)
oi + Prince Henry and William's mom, Princess ***na
that's a word?
git 'r dun, Pini!
thanks lb!
* snicker * turn about is fair play, eh? :)
hi Kris
I want "outie" to work, but it doesn't.
Hi Pini
I'm in and out...
I tried that one, too, Kris! :)
hi kris
hi lb
Izod is so too a word! All those alligator shirts say so! LOL
yup, tried that one too! lol
GMTA!
cargo and zygote are my phantoms
I tried zygote, too! (just a different spelling) ;)
me, too
glad we're all in the same boat! :)
i tried it both ways! silly me!
hope that boat is in a very shallow puddle!
if not, it'd better have a bunch of life rafts!
*digs in closet for water wings and mae west*
mae west?
life vest
ahhhh ....
it's an inflatable life vest
<-- didn't know that!
Hello -- I have 20 minutes to offer clues if needed
learn something new everyday! :)
hi jilli!
Hi Jilli!
hi jilli - how's everything?
I need 6's; have at, di, io
named after the well endowed lady, for obvious reasons
phantom: calgon!
Everything is very wet! We've had so much rain.
I was guessing that, lbd...I just didn't realize they named the vest after her! LOL
ti6?
we had tons of rain in June - stuff mildewed
thx holly...looking
tough ti**** said the kitty, but the milk's still good.
ti6 -- think Mae West!
lol, Jilli!
* giggle * thx, got it! :)
thank you LbDAwger and jillibus
those were cute clues! :)
thanks - silly word...:)
I don't understand the Mae West clue
think "boobs" Miz
Miz, do you know who Mae West was?
phantom: catalog
I do, but don't know enough about her to get the clue
You missed the life vest discussion, I take it...
She was a very buxom babe, Miz
I was wondering where the s was!
Ahh
she was a very well endowed actress. think along the lines of an older Dolly Parton
let's just say, she was well-endowed ;)
all that meat and no potatoes was her most famous line
;) hi ru
why don't you come up and see me sometime? - another Mae west line
"Come up and see me some time" was another (although she never said it)
you mean it wasn't "why don't you come up and see me sometime?"
hi ruru
hi ru
she was an Icon in the best way.
Hi everyone
she never said it? it's like "Play it again, sam."?
how did she get stuck with the "come see" me phrase if she never said it?
clue for the aa? I should know it...
Hey All.... Happy to see so many nice faces.... xoxox
apparently not, lbd, although there was something similar *going to google*
aa+ cons + double vowell a babblet
hiya aussieeeeee
Piniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii :)
thx ru :)
it's a sticky plant found in Australia, Hawaii, and a couple other tropical places.
are u dun yit?
**in pain and swearing to myself, is it allowed ?**
AUSSIE!!!
hi aussie - monkeying vowels, consonant, vowels...
Nah, not done yit..... was away till now :(
LBDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD !!!!!
me, too!
Did you shoot the nurse yet?
* passing a few extra rounds of ammo *
got 51 left....
want to shoot the nurse, the damn implant in my arm has come out !!!!!
why is aussie shooting nurses?
I'm down to 36 :)
The actual line was 'Why don't you come up some time and see me?'
uh ... uh...
had pill implant in my arm, and its come out, leaving me a hole in my arm, and alot of pain now
sounds better the other way, jilli, probably why it stuck that way ;)
ugh, aussie. that sounds horrible!
did mae west pass away today?
its, to put it mildly, bloody awful !!!!!
no ruru - she came up in a boat discussion
poor thing!
not that I know of, ru
i think she's been dead for a while, ru
oh.. boat discussion?
yup
Oh that's too bad.. now I am chest-fallen
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5L0eJp7 V2Zs&feature=related but you have to turn up the sound
three of us were in the same boat, trying to make "zigote" a word. Then we talked about how deep in we were, and then the Mae West in case of tipping
Nov. 22, 1980 was when she died
you mean zygote?
hiya. wow, itty bitty. is it evil?
we did, but couldn't squeeze in the nonexistent y
snarky and evil.. very evil
Hey weed !!
yup, zygote was one of my phantoms, and we all tried it,
sorry -- too long -- try this -- http://tinyurl.com/ya6kt8z
you can do it in no time, feather.
(liar)
oh goodie. facebook is acting up, can't get to any of my games there, and an evil little grid. hmm.
yes Feather, FB is acting up..... grrr to it !
it's working fine for me ;)
who you calling a liar, ru? *puffing up sleeves...*
:P pini!
yes, dear?
oh, wait, it was ruru saying it was evil. hmm, believe dawg, or ruru.....
diving in!
to list or not to list...that is the question
i didn't say it was easy, just that you could do it, feather.
lol, sure, NOW you clarify!
new word: catino - feline casino
not real...
cute, Kris ;)
i knew i could get you involved, feather! ;-)
ROFL
(I will wait a bit to let feather struggle with a few and curse LBD)..lol
pbththth!
gotta go - lie to me is on. Have fun, everybody!
enjoy, Kris!
Kris is the Catino where they play Ratlette?
* going to list *
i have confidence in feather, she's a mommy and a teechah.
(since no one's stopping me!)
very cute, ru ;)
bye kris. list, Pini! brb, need some tea.
lol, up to a whopping 14 words so far
git'r dun, weed! :)
oooh, I got a word using the list!!!
*whistles while waiting*
lol, yay pini!
*stuffs marshallow in ruru's pucker*
Phoeey!!!!!!!!!!!!!
* giggle *

Is that like a bog or something
Not sure, but I can contribute a match!
HIYA STID>>>>>>>>>>

I am fine stid.. never felt better
No Mama, I not.... I had a pill implant this arvo, and the darn thing has popped out of the hole the nursey made in my arm !
it was lovely, pini -- had a good 4 hour visit with my grandfather. Next time you should come. You'd like them, and they would like you!
so, now I have a hole, and blood, and everything !
owie owie, aussie! *worried mama look* are you going to be okay?
* beaming * thx stid! Glad you had an enjoyable visit...I was back in bed by 9:00am! (what a whirlwind)
*offer gauze and bandages and pain meds and a teddy bear*
ewwww, owie
will be ok, I am back to docs in the am....
pushing back the vampires trying to get to aussie
LOL I was just about to ask about your own journey! we were certainly driving a lot yesterday!
* offers garlic necklace *
nursey bungled it twice, and third time, she said it was in, guess not now :)
waves crosses and sprays holy water
Thanks for garlic and fender offers :)
gee whiz, aussime!
Aussie...you must be feeling better already! :)
I think you need to have a talk with someone!
I am ok, just in pain.... will be ok though.... fankoomuchly !!
will be kicking nursey in the fanny tomorrow :)
how is the precious princess? darling as always?
and are you up so late because you are hurting? *concerned mama look*
She is just peachy Mama, thank you for asking.....
i'm a little behind on the news - what kinda pill do they plant in your arm?
would that be a back nurse?
you want my official teacher-to-be kicking boots?
its The Contraceptive Pill implant renner
LOL Georgia is "peachy" rofl...
rear nurse?
are they bigger than a UK size 4 Mama ??
RENNIE!!! STIDDY!!!
Tom just got his complete Beatles set... he is very pleased with his purchase
mine are biggie boots aussie - uk size 8
um.... European 38 I believe
Like Norplant, Aussie? (or however you spell it?)
dawger!!!
yes Mama, I up late because the pain.....
my computer has serious lag.
putting renners boots on over my size 4's
oh gee Aussie.
sounds terrible.. if men had to have implants in their penis..
yes Pini, mine is called Implanon..... only its more NON than Implan right now !
isn't there an easier way ?
yikes...
I think you probably need to put ice on the area to numb it up a little, and probably paracetamol (or however you spell it) for the pain? -- what the UK equivalent of Tylenol is.
if men took the trouble to take precautions, there wouldn't be as many unplanned births!
yes Ru, there is, but this thing lasts 3 years.....
Three years is a great long time! Hope you can get it put in properly and painlessly tomorrow.
I always heard that if you held two asprin in between your knees....
I had frozen peas on it Mama..... and I have taken codeine.....
me too Mama :)
ROFL, ru...asprin desolve eventually tho!
RURU!!!! *choke, gasp*
*worried ruru look*
wonder if gel caps would glue knees together?
LOOLOL)
* pats mama on the back *
**patting Mama on the back**
probably makes your knees all gummy.
*gasp, choke, wheeze* that is TOO FUNNY!

Stid, shall we check with Mel to see if that's a good lunch place for our GT?
git'r dun, peeps...I'm right there with ya!
I love Paley's place in Portland
where's that, ru?
*switches marshallow (yes, marshallow) with glue covered cork*
that would be a good idea, though that place that's right next to Powell's would be good too.
let her choose!
23rd or 24th st...neark K or L
uh oh, weed's on a roll! :)
Paley's? what is that like, ruru?
*mmmumpF**
go feather go!
I'm going to google it, stid :)
Paleys is fresh ingredients.. lots of interesting items..and creat cooking
too many zeros here, NBT seems far away
is the AG 7 fishy?
*wondering what feather does with marshmallow and glued covered cork*
very casual.. and great great food.
sounds nice ruru, brb while I go look it up.
no, stid
no, ag7 is weird. it's the gem and robot ending.
ag7 = most of the rock + robot end
I think she sits on it LBD?
the marshmallow was in ruru's kisser earlier while he was whistling and waiting for me to finish
oh, like a pacifier?
*ducks*
very edgy website *disapproving mama look* taking FOREVER to load...
yup. 'zactly.
1204 NW 21st Street...
thanks for the AG 7!
**asking sweetly for clue to the at6** ?
*ignoring ruru* (mostly)
apparently they wrote a cookbook, ruru!
LOLOLOL
at+ name that ****, a musical game show
the menu changes daily!
AT 6: AT + music word (four letters)

Looking at a sample menu now...
love, love, love the food there
thats for the 6 & 7 - hows about the 8?
As axed!
io8 renner....
OMG...I see a word I learned the other day! (at least I think I did): charcutere
Io + loud noise + past tense of eat
ga4.6 (party) + not coffee
down to 17, do you want me to wait for you feather?
The menu sample looks nice, ru!
oh! do you want to know what I did this morning????
io5.12 + consumed for the 8

Oh...does anyone here "scrapbook"?
I think the moody adolescent will be okay in the morning... was supposed to memorize something (and usually manages to memorize much longer passages easily) then found out he has one day less to have it done. So panicked he isn't focusing on what he CAN do, just what he CAN'T
hm. okay feather. shall we trade now, or wait until morning?

i am glad stidmama. unfortunately i got overwhelmed with own stuff and couldn't get back to you. i am thrilled that it is better. sickness can really exacerbate anything
then, Joey, you could talk on the phone and feel better all at once. *waves magic wand to make it so*
I was afraid that was the case, joey, and have had you at the top of my list since then.

I would love to see it -- is that camo boy's mother, or the princess divine's?
what a fun website, pini. it
I got to see the finished product last week...it looks just like it did online!
it's nifty!
Yes, stid...that's Camo's mom ;)
oh! I was just reminded... I helped a newbie judge on Saturday, and as I was explaining how Public Forum works, the young man said, "SEXY!" I started to giggle, and all the kids (none of them over 18) looked at me -- I had to explain that I was SO OLD that I had never heard that word used that way!
*feeling elderly*
lol, stid
too funny, stid!
thought you'd like that story! *grin*
I had so much fun on Saturday, I will help at the tournament in three weeks, too. That will be after the last day of classes for me, so I will have more time to just "hang out" and watch other events, too.
Oh, and I have to let you know that Camo mom's baby pictures resemble Camo boy so much it's like he's a doppleganger to her! :)
That must feel good, stid! (especially after you seemed to be stressed)...
(but that might have been due to school, too)
oh man, pini! my younger son and I were like that. Of course, once he got taller than 5'3 that ended! LOL (and I am WAY curvier!)
i hope you are way curvier!
* giggle *
oh, I was terrified that I was going to be a terrible judge, pini, but I realized that I could apply the same philosophy to judging that I will to teaching... you have to start somewhere
ok back- sorry for the in and out- we are building a colonial town hall that is due tomorrow
:-D a bit, LBD, but getting less so. Tom wants to buy me a replacement ring for the wedding ring I lost a couple weeks ago... but I want him to wait until my weight stabilizes. I can't believe it fell off my hand and I didn't notice.
oh DR, I know tht feeling only TOO WELL!
Good evening everyone! May I please have a clue for ta 5/14?
anyway, the judging went well, AND I managed to revise half of the term paper in the in-between moments, so that was good.
hey CAR!
Hi Car (( HUGS))
TA 5: Russian tundra
i hope you find your wedding ring stid. it can always be resized.
Hello!
Hi Car
I think... ta + vowel + abbreviate state north of florida
I think it fell off in a store. Or in the yard. Or at school... it wasn't expensive, only a $25 silver ring, but the sentimental value was high of course
TY! Got it!
go car go!
Just 2 more....
go car!
hello 35 to go
oh! and I think I figured out one of my migraine triggers... I have cut out even occasional small amounts of wheat, and have gone about three weeks with no migraine!!!!!
hey harp!
Hi Harp!
hi harp
welcome to the club
congrats, stid!!!
Wow Stid! that is great!
you really are sensitive to wheat! but rather avoid wheat than be out with the headaches.
BJ!!!
BJ!!! (((((HUGS AND CHOCLIT))))) this is wonderful to see you again so soon! how are you?
brandy! long time so see!
unfortunately, wheat is used everywhere. avoiding it is a PITA.
like you avoiding wheat to avoid migraines.....
yep. so now add wheat to the bovine/ungulate; eggplant/okra; hibiscus... I am glad to identify it, because I really hate migraines more than I like wheat.
I will have to avoid life then...that's what triggers mine!!!
me too CAR ! Life and dehyration
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
I have to read every label for everything anyway... my whole life is becoming one big avoidance! LOL
OK...I need a clue for ti 6/18...
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
Hello Min!
Hi Min
on the other hand, I feel SO MUCH better that I really don't mind.
hello Min. welcome to the grid! how are you tonight?
same here, but the rice bread is positively poisonous. Although my sens of smell and tase has gone pretty much completely. only taste I have left is the buds on the tongue for sweet/salty/sour/fatty etc.
ti6, boobs
That ti6/18 word is slang word for breast car.eeyore
I hear you, BJ. my complaint about most of the rice substitutes is that they are gritty... but we have found some nut-based flours that work pretty well for me.
Good grief! Sorry!
have to avoid stuff like soy suace, teryaki, anything with malted barley (most chocolate bars), most cereals.....
can you use potatoe flour?
BJ! Is that YOU in the icon? LOL love the braids!
yikes, BJ, what do you subsist on?
Yep, dat's me.
yes I can, LBD -- Mother introduced me to it recently -- she now makes chiffon cakes with potato flour for me
oh oh... that is rough BJ. is that because of the fermentation?
meat, eggs, veggies, fruit etc.
I'm well lbdawger.Just one more day to my work week
that's nice, Min.
I have met someone with such an allergy to fermented products that once an apple is juiced it must be consumed within about 10 minutes.
No it's because it is made with soy and wheat and fermented.
hello Min! welcome to the grid!
Hello stidmama! How are you? Thanks for the welcome
I see. they tend to "adulterate" foods with either wheat, soy or milk... and sometimes all at once!
and you'll find that if wheat sets you off, then barley and rye will too. Might have to hunt down the special oats even that gaurantees no cross-pollination with barley or rye.
brb
i must be heading for my pillows. great to see so many of my dear babble buddies! hope to see you all tomorrow!
thanks BJ, I will look into that.
sweet dreams LBD ((((many hugs)))) see you tomorrow!

It was a short, but hard puzzle and I haven't been doing these for awhile, so I was a little slower than usual
My reaction to grids really vary from day-to-day. I didn't think today's was as bad as some short ones are. The other day we had a really sticky one.
See you tomorrow ... if anyone is still here.
z word anyone?
zo4/9 rhymes with the to 4/4 word puffdaddy & hello
Hello Merk! How are you doing?Welcome to the puzzle

Hi Min and any one else left here tonight
Hello Nef! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle!
doing slow; how are you tonight?
I was waiting here for someone else to enter chat so I could enter last word and have a witness to my FWs
Here I AM! :-) Go for it!
I am done! I have fireworks!ad5/14 was my last word
YAY, MIN!! WTG!!! :-D
Nef do you need clues or did you finish puzzle already
back...
hi min and nef! :)
hi Pini
or not
I haven't finished; but I have to stay awake long enough to get clothes out of the dryer
I'm here for ya, Nef!
What can I help you with?
Hello Pinikula! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
not too bad, min...you?
If you don't have too many I can stay to clue for you.
Wanna finish my laundry? ;-)
uh...no?
I'm making cookies tho!
I am well Pinikula! I got fireworks. Was waiting for a witness to my fireworks&Nef happened to enter first
that sounds better than laundry!
wtg min!!! :)
I think so, too, Nef!
I really don't care if I finish or not tonight. Gotta work tomorrow, so I'm just here filling time while doing laundry

...and alone...
Oh, except for the lurkers, of course! * waving *
( just so you know...holler if ya need a clue! )
( no pleasantries or talking required ) =]
You can do it, lurkers!! Git'r dun!!! ;)
Good evening Pini. Why are you talking to yourself?
cuz there wasn't anyone else here to talk with?
;)
You do this often??
oh, not too often...I make myself nervous when I answer my own questions! :)
I see...
I'd ask myself for clues, but I'm already done :)
me too. Can't help
oh, wait...that would mean I'd be talking to myself...glad I avoided it! :)
for a grid that everyone said was horrible they sure finished & ran.
or they're lurking and unwilling to confess that they're not done? :)
I find it boring talking to myself because I know what I'm going to say.
that's why I was talking to the lurkers...didn't want to bore myself! LOL
hello you two, how are you both?
I think we would have flushed them by now tho.......?
hiya Granny!
hi granny - just fine here
probably, hoot
I;m gonna go get a drink. brb
Was just going to ask for guesses on the next grid...
...I'm hoping for about 200-250...
...mid-range...not too small (hard) and not too big (hard)
I hope you are talking about a grid...
Of course!
ROFL
Ru...is your mind in the gutter?
pretty much most of the time...
ahhh, I see...
so, what's your guess? lol
not going there...
??
I see you flushed someone new. Hi ru
Hiya hoot..
I try, hoot! :)
Pini has been a little descriptive
aarrrggghhh, screen freeze....now i can chat
* blush *
hey ruru
lololo pini you are too cute
So I saw. You too
hi granny..
aw, shucks!
you saved my life last night..
Wondered where you went granny
what? whooo mee?
beautiful spring day here. what's it like your end?
50 -60 and perfect here..
great tennis weather
50's - threatening rain and/or fog
to say our weather is erratic is to put it very mildly
it's supposed to be rain-free this week!! YEAH!!!
where do you live hoot?
Memphis, Tn - armpit of the south
little bit of bad news. the other night, my ankle went CRACK! if pain doesn't subside in 2 more days, another x-ray. looking for a stress fracture. :(
I thought Knoxville was the armpit of the south?
Granny!!! I thought you were almost all better!
No. I liked Knox. Hate it here.
jeez.. granny.. are you in a lot of pain
i know.but being in the camwalker boot, allows the bones to soften.
Do stress fractures go crack?
tickles a bit, when walking.
tickles?
um, yes,hoot.
brb.. forgot to take out the garbage for tommorrow morning.. one of my important jobs around here...
the boot or the fracture?
my way of saying, OUCH!!!!
Sorry granny - on;ly thing I ever broke was my big toe.
oh my...I hope it's not too bad, granny!
have sharp pains on the top of my foot, and deep ache in the joint
But I have fractured a ligament so You have all my sympathy!
just pray that it's not fractured, 'cos this time im
Why suffer for 2 days?
ill have to go into plaster for 6-8 weeks.
fracture a ligament?
oh, no, granny!
well what do you call it when it comes loose?
oh that's horrible! Let us pray not.
oh, ouch! I think they say, "torn"
hoot, surgeon thinks it might have just been air in the joint, sort of like cracking your knickles
but I'm not a doctor...so...
that's knuckles, but nickels works too
i see I guess.
got it
on the bright side, the pain meds are working well most of the time
oh, pain meds can be awesome!
If you can get them...
the doc martens are doing are good job supporting the ankle, too
do you have brittle bones grannyrose
good to hear, granny...
hint...take shares in the company which makes oxycodone and endone. i predict their price is on the rise. * grin *
May I inquire how you did the damage granny?
bugs, it's because of having to wear the camwalker for so long. the bones soften after a while.
hoot, originally stressed fractured at work, did not twist, sprain, just was walking
but isn't a camwalker a kind of removeable cast? I am wondering if this is something you must be very careful of forever. that would be harsh
hello
hi mlf
Hi pinik
you're right, bugs, but the doc martens come half way up my calf, thus allowing the muscles around the bones to work, thus strengthening the bone
hi to everyone coming
Wow - just walking? That's doubly horrible!
hey mlf.....
a granny in doc martens. I love the dangerous image.
hey grannyrose
hello all
