No he was taking lessons to become a snare drummer and after a year they asked me to signup as a tenor drummer - the one that twirls the drumsticks dramatically to show we are not as talented as the tenot drummers. We both got good enough to perform for one year but I found it too stressful to be in parades and he gave it up.

we performed at the Highland Games here and that year the world's champion band was from Vancouver and they were there too. They always have a "mass band" where everyone from all the bands plays as one.
our daughter, her husband and their 2 daughters 22 and 20 are planning a trip to Scotland in June

no, mine is no longer valid and I need a valid one for the examination. They didn't give me any notice, of course, so it is either postpone the assessment (and freak myself out until then) or rush the card (and pay double).

nothing about those benefits is fair. One has to be very healthy to be able to apply for one and ke4 the whole process going. No kidding.

are you having tests or has that been done?
it is a rather silly system. I have been ill for years on end now, have seen lots of doctors and am now having good treatment. Will be many more years before I can function reasonably again, we all agree. But for the benefit some strange doctor will speak with me for a little while, check my body, and give judgement.
most tests are done, only the stupid loss of feeling in my feet is not yet finished. Will get results on Dec 7.

1 bag fresh cranberries, 2 vanilla beans, a thumb of ginger, peeled, water to cover, boil as per usual cranberries. Add juice of 1 lime when mostly done. When cooked, add a splash of Absolut Citron, and the lime zest.

I saw a colleague once at the hospital and knew that her 84 yr old mother had recently died. I offered condolences, mentioning how much she must miss her mother. My colleagues reply = my mother has been demented for 10 yrs, so it is as though she died years ago.

Actually with older folks, we really can focus on celebrating their lives rather than grieving
we had a very nice funeral and i gave a eulogy talking about my mother and her love of reading and her passion of teaching and everyone was very pleased
