hi Oodle
hi lyn
ok where is everyone
it is sunday everyone is supposed to be up for church.... gee ;-)
Canadians and US are asleep aren't they. Lots of people finished quickly too - clever clots
Some from the US are night owls and play along with all of you
hi Dalmation
well I am not... but I am an early bird anyway... don't like getting up in the morning either... go figure ... and where are you dalmation?
boy Oodle, so cranky today!
good morning
cranky?
I live in CA - right down the street from Disneyland
nah...
oh wonderful my most 'favoritest' place in the world ... not a good experience
Wow - must be busy neigbourhood, does that suit you Dal
favoritest - good phantom today
well sorry if I came across that way
I cannot imagine living anywhere else. We are no more than a couple of hours from snow or ocean. Things are open 24 hours a day. Too many people and too much smog but nothing is every perfect.
not at all Oodle - just joshing you
good morning everyone from snowy New England
hi Eva & Merp
where in New England?
so far this has been a very cooperative grid
usually in Vermont dal, but in Boston right now
Have you ever been to Nova Scotia?
yes, I visited a couple of years ago. Beautiful!
how's life lynxxx?
After hearing the music from that area I would love to visit
slow, pleasant, nice weather, green from rains we have had - pretty good actually Eva
I don't remember where in Australia you are from. One of my closest friends lives in Sydney, where she moved from Adelaide. We met while she was studying here and I've always wanted to visit, but the length of travel is utterly daunting.
I am from Melbourne, Victoria...in between Adelaide & Sydney sort of. MRP/Lickety and Andree are from Sydney. It's not that far, I am sure your friend would agree
well when I lived in ft lauderdale and when I did there were no 24 hour places there
My friend is 20 years younger than I am and likes traveling. I have always hated it...the process that is. ONce I get somewhere Im fine, but flying is torture for me. I've always dreamt of having the time someday to go by ship.
snow in florida? I don't understand
Dalmation - LoriP is from Nova Scotia - online occasionally
hey oodle-did you get the storm up there too?
I was going to drive back to Vermont yesterday, but am snowbound until tomorrow.
Keep buying those lottery tickets Eva..we have just had a monstrous new cruise ship leave here for Sydney. Can't remember what US actor was on it
dunno haven't looked out yet... but if it was a storm I don,t here any wind... and I have been to nova scotia, PEI, Madeleine Islands and New Brunswick ... beautiful places
I've read up on freighters, which are much smaller-only carry a few dozen passengers, none of the cruise ship hoopla, but still comfortable accommodations. That sounds much more my cup of tea. But it takes longer, of course, because of the stops they make.
I will have to look for her -thanks
it is very calm out side... don't see even any wind... but to what storm are you referring
maybe it didn't get that far north oodle-Vermont is getting between 1-2 feet of snow. Started last night and is going through tomorrow morning.
what kind of dog is that in your icon lynxxx?
looks like a grey hound or a whippet
it does, but a bit more massive in build
the biggest problems with freighters is that you have to use their scheduled stops and sometimes there is not time to get off or there might be a delay. I have a friend who took one and she loved it. There were only about 6 passengers. They ate with the crew. No planned activities and lots of stairs to climb to differnt decks. But she enjoyed every second of it.
Greyhound Eva...photo got squeezed in a bit
probably the angle of the photo... or it might be an afghan?
well, the first 184 words flew by...now things are very slow
s/he is beautiful lynxxx
afghan! no crocheting on my dog
ah HA my third guess was right
oh
That sounds wonderful dalmatian! I love being on the water, so don't know if I'd care much about not getting off often.
he is lovely Eva, Stewart Little by name. he came with that and I didn't bother to change it as little kids love it
there is a hound same build as the two latter but furrier
The cruise ships have always sounded like my idea of hell....crowds, constant activity, lots of drinking. Plus I'd weigh a ton by the time I got there.
No dress up nights on a freighter so can take lots of casual clothing.
He looks strikingly gentle and wise.
I would love to do that .. now a days people treat tourists, customers, clients as numbers... all we are are a way to make them money or a statistic that's all
Oodle - perhaps you are thinking of a Saluki, not as much hair as an afghan
never heard of dressing up on a train... what class do you travel dalmatian??
Some day dalmatian. Although I have to say that I am quite content with staying home. It's mainly that I miss my friends who live aborad. When I was younger I went to Israel quite often, and then once to Uruguay, but not much travel aside from that.
no never heard of that one... had the world book encyclopedia when I was growing up and always looked at the dog pages
not a freight train Oodle - a freighter as in cargo carrying boat
ohhhhhhh well I would enjoy that if they could garentee that I didn,t get sea sick
it is getting to where it is a pain to fly with all the security issues. It takes hours and hours to get out of Los Angeles, CA
and now I understand about dressing up ... kewel ... eating with the crew would be neat... I would ask a lot of quesitons... think my mother would even like that
The main thing about a freighter is you have to be able to entertain yourself as it is a working ship and it does not cater to tourists. I would enjoy it myself.
sounds like a great opportunity to meditate, read, write and just watch the sea.
well it sounds it would be a lot cheaper than a cruise ship
it is less, but still expensive.
Wonder if it would be cheaper than the cheap air flights you can get nowadays
no-flight is still much, much cheaper.
what is the name of your dog again lyn
sayku?
Although they are working ships, they do supply you with excellent meals, services, etc.
No, I have confused you. Stewart is a Greyhound
And he doesn't mind being called by a rat's name?
although I think that was spelled Stuart, wasn't it?
Mouse I think. No, he's doesn't seem offended
yes
no what is that name you said
A Saluki
I looked at the afghan and the head is much more furry..
you're right lynxx-don't know why I remembered him as a rat
You are probably thing of that other animated movie...Ratatouie ?
ok yes it would resemgle the saluki more but is it a new breed? cause I never saw it in the encyclopedia
no-some old children's book.
maybe the rat from Charlottes web.
Saluki are a very old breed, one of the originals they say. Not very common in Western countries
amazing the things which can be "iered" or "iested"
ok I missed something why are we talking about rats now hee hee hee
yes! Just finished off the w's.
oh probably in eastern europe... because I don,t see people usually owning dogs in the middle east and certainly not in asia wher eyou WOULD NOT want to bring your cat let alone your dog
they are an arabian breed Oodle, greyhounds are probably of the same origins...sight hounds.breed for hunting in the deserts - both would go back to ancient Egypt in one form or another
oh ok ty
43 left and time to take a break. see you guys later.
bye Eva
don't see the middle east as dog loving countries... now france I think goes over board with there dogs... they even allow them in restaurants which I think should not be allowed ... however here dogs are like as in france only they cannot go into public buildings
bbye eva
good day
Hello Sprite!
hey lyn :) How are you doing?
All good, boring myself with this grid but not tired enough for bed yet. Have you started yet, I give you about 45 minutes!
lyn you know the corner 'n' please
that easy? Ok, will jump in :)
ne4.4 hawiaan goose
(I know - i can't spell Haw etc!)
ohhhh i fergit about that one
ty ty
hehehe lyn
just a mental block I have - one of many!
it doesn't matter at all, because everybody knows what you mean
How are you Sprite? any good news
again a little more feeling in my feet. Especially the upper side of the toes. And the side effect of the meds that has been bothering me most (severe depression) seems to ebb slightly. We are going in the right direction at least :)
thanks for asking, lyn
That sounds hopeful! Will the meds have to be 'forever' or just until you get your feeling back?
no, they are supposed to replace my other pain meds. They work on nerve pain only. It is weird stuff, but if it gives me back some feeling in the feet and it can replace the morphine, I would be most grateful.
one day Sprite you are going to get past all this - you are amazing
I dont mean to butt in but I have nerve damage in my feet..sprite, is that your malady too?
amazing why? But I hope you are right about getting past this. It would be so marvelous.
hi Annie
hi lynxxxie
hi miss annie
hi sir oodle
hi Annie, how frustrating! No, the cause is probably in my lower back, but the neurologist couldn't exactly pin it down. The meds are an experiment of his. I was rather negative about it, but it looks like he may have stuck gold.
Because you live with all this 'crap' and seemingly function pretty normally - beloved by your family and all here!
sprite, could you tell me the name of the med. I will talk to my neurologist about it. I would appreciate that.
my rule #1, lyn: to let my loved ones suffer as little as possible from this, lol. And they are incredibly loving and great supports as well. With so much love and all the other blessings in my life, I try to stay grateful and not linger too much on the handicaps and pain.
it is called neurontin, Annie, but that is the brand name. Let me look up the rather weird real name of the stuff.
can anyone give a hint on the second in 7/28 and the in 9/
It is gabapentin. I take 3000 mg. of that everyday.
ah there it is: Gabapentine
sprite, look at my post right before yours. I have been taking Neurontin for years.
does it do any good for you, Annie? I am still in the building-up phase, taking it very very slowly because I often have bad reactions to meds.
in9 means to start something, like a protest or argument
sprite, the only way I would know is to stop taking gabapentin and I am very leery of doing that. But I do have pain.
Hi everyone.....is it a friendly one today or what??
in7 in and what the stars on the US flag represent
hi Flask, very friendly. Easy, in fact.
Hi Flask, I havent started yet.
hi Flask - very friendly - lots of ends
Great!.....Music to my ears!
thanks lynxxx
ah I see, Annie. I wouldn't stop taking it! I am to build this up to 6 pills a day, and build off the morphine after that. But headstrong as I am, I already started taking less morphine. So far, I can handle it. More pain, but also more feeling in the feet.
I have no feeling in my feet.
do you know what caused that, Annie?
sprite, that is was is so frustrating. I went for all the tests (even the painful EEG) and they do not know. I have peripheral idiopatic neuropathy.
same here, they don't have a clue why the feeling is disappearing. Had all those tests as well. Idiopatic, lollll. Doctor lingo for "we don't have a clue".
How long has this been for you Annie?
Right! And it started so slowly I didnt know what was happening. I have learned to live with it.
lynxxx, It is about 10 years.
I admire you, Annie. It is driving me bananas. I already have much trouble walking because of pelvic damage. And not feeling my feet is not helping. I would prefer pain over not feeling. But we don't get a choice, do we.
sprite, and I admire you. We learn to muddle on the best we can and we do a pretty good job of it.
wow, that is a very long time. Could you give me some pointers? As how to handle it? Like how to handle wounds you don't feel, and how to learn to balance without feeling your feet?
*hugs Annie and smiles* Muddling on, now that is something we ARE good at!
Oh sprite, I do not have wounds to deal with. My balance is not that good but I manage. You are very young. Are you diabetic by any chance? Hugs back to you.
no, that was the first thing we checked. No diabetic at all, thanks God. Ok, I will keep practising, and trying to emulate you :)
sprite and I will emulate you. I am sure the Neurontin will give you relief. I will keep you in my prayers.
How amazing is this babble arena - who would have guessed you 2 would have the same problem. I hope you can help each other out a bit!
I hope so lynxxx. sprite is a dear person. Now I am going to make coffee. *muddling into the kitchen*
lol
Annie already helped me. Knowing I am not the only one is great, though I would wish for Annie to not suffer from this. And knowing one can learn to walk without feeling the feet is also great.
did I lose connection again or is it all quiet?
just quiet, I'm fading - but waiting for your fireworks - only 3 mniutes left
I'm back with coffee...anyone?
lol, I chatted way too much for that. Still need about 30 words.
no thanks Annie
oh please Annie. I love coffee
not just before bed, lyn :)
*pouring a nice fresh cup of coffee for sprite* cream and sugar on the sideboard*
lovely, Annie, thanks. And I will hold you in my prayers as well.
Thank you, sprite
(and not just for the coffee)
LOL. I have my morning coffee with my babbling.
I always enjoy the time zones, and marvel at chatting with friends who are in different parts of the day.
sprite, is it lunchtime for you? and I wonder what it is for lynxxx.
almost bed time for lyn
after, even, it is 10 to 2 in the afternoon.
this friend is off to bed - goodnight friends! (close to 11pm here Annie)
sleep well, lyn, and dream even better.
bbye lyn
Hello, everyone... Would someone mind telling me how many words there are for todays grid, please?
233 Sheimi, and hello
good night, lynxxxxie, sweet dreams
Hello Sprite, thank-you. And good night, Lyn. Come back soon!
yw Sheimi and good luck. It is a gentle one today
Yeah... I still doubt I'll get fireworks though, lol.
you might with this one, I think. But don't let wanting to find all words ruin your pleasure in playing :)
Of course... I find Babble quite relaxing, it's a nice laid back game that you can take your time on...
oh yes! I totally agree. I don't like time-limited games where you must go against the clock, they stress me out. 24 hours is enough for me, usually, grin.
Lol, I don't like games where you go against the clock either, I find that hard because you're trying to think at the same time as watching the clock.
I also tend to block on the inside when I get stressed. Couldn't find the simplest words if the clock were ticking.
Yeah... That's why I like Babble, sometimes the grids can be either really easy or really hard, but even if it is, you can still take your time... Way better than rushing to beat the clock.
:) Glad to have you with us, Sheimi!
Aw, thanks! That's kind of you to say, Sprite. :)
I'm gonna be off now, will be back soon! :)
Bye Sprite, have a good one. xx
well I mean it. Nice co-players really add to the fun.
bye Sheimi!
fireflies. Smooth and problemless. Bye all.
Congrats, Sprite! You are fast and brilliant.

cold is below zero
O well.
oodle, I took the tape off.
Sorry Plebian Cold for me is 10C
no then people don,t know it is condemned and it is very dangerous in there
like for me lady when I was in florida... I was FAREEEEEEEEZING
oodle, it was never condemned. Babblers keep the PB in wonderful condition.
I don't
Oodle are you not in the land of - 30?
oodle, What do you not like about the PB? It was beautifully set up by FM. Click on FM's profile when she comes on and you will see our PB>
Later, must go poof! Thanks for bagels and cream cheese
anytime, pleb...just say the word
the reason being is when you say PB it brings it out more then if you say nothing... sometimes I don't even see any words that come up in chat until someone points it out which makes it worse
No it doesn't...that is the fun of it. It is all in fun, sir oodle
furthermore I have enough problems expressing myself already and I can't be bothered with making the hints for words I write in normal chat
Good morning to all!
oodle, I think you express yourself very well.
not fun
Hi Scrabbler...Did your nephew enjoy snowboarding?

hi Angel
trying to decide if hubby is the world's nicest man or just a complete suck up
katie, definitely the nicest
either Katie, enjoy
Keep training him to be the former--more authentic
I wonder if I can arise early and impress teh b.f by retrieving a car battery
he has just driven over to Mari's to sort out their TV in the half time of the soccer after yesterday spending the day reflooring their lounge
herin, that would certainly impress the BF
I have got his car details.
Great for him, K! I am impressed!
me too, I would never have thought of it bless him
what a great guy you have there Katie
herin, Then do it. I am sure he has done many nice things for you.
Katie Ask what he wants
yes he has and at the moment he is very poed about the isseu
Mari did inform me a few months ago that if we ever split up she wanted him in the divorce settlement
Past halfway--BBL
herin, so take it off his hands and be the good GF that you are
Annie I could also probably do an oil change and semi service
LOL, Katie
no seriously herin he is just like that, I keep telling Mari they finally have the child they deserve
That is great Katie. I was being a bit of a smart arse. The other half does things to suprise me
herin, That would be very nice. Make a nice start for the new year.
my Uncle taught me how to manage things on cars
It is 9:20 here and I promised to take Bobby to the Brooklyn Museum to see the Egyptian collection so I want to get ready. Bye dear babblers. Go for it, herin.

morning bichon
just learned about the state bird of Hawaii - interesting
anyone have the bottom h singleton?
morning bichon
buttom h, think it's cut down
no, it's not, I have that one
not so flosey
he4 - plural noise of satisfaction?
sorry have them all, not easy going back - must be he4/6
Hi all. Bichon, sounds like the plural of an evil laugh, as in he* he*
Or he plus male possessive minus the vowel.
ty Sally
hi haz!
np
Hello! Good morning/afternoon all.
Hi Haz. Are you still leaving your poor dog out in the snow and ice? :-)
Hi
morning Haz
hi Haz
Whisper it softly, lest people think I've gone soft. She slept inside last night.
lol Haz
well you would not if you were here. it's 22 with a wind chill of zero
Husband went to bed, what he didn't know didn't disturb him.
It's still very cold here, no sign of a thaw.
A bad night for Biscuit is that he has to sleep on the bottom end of the bed and not sleeping on his own pillow between us. Of course he's only 16 lbs
When we first found our cats, they were restricted firmly to the office and utility. Now they are both sprawled out happily in front of the log burner!
This is the 4th day of snow, probably the last
TO - your Bonhoeffer quote, so true, so right on - so often ignored/forgotten
Bichon my friends dogs which weigh between 60 to 120pounds depending which dog thinks they are lap puppies
ty bo. i often need reminding.
It snowed again a little here last night, then froze on that. Our garden and lane are lethal.
cbs sunday morning profiing johnny mercer. love him
need a clue for te5 following the canvas dwellings, please?
Sally, the pavements in town are similarly lethal. Freezing streets, a skiff of rain = skating rink.
Hi everyone. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...We have a good foot with no end in sight.
I ended up clinging to a drainpipe, a nice man helped me onto the road.
keep it. we hava gale force gusts with lethal cold
Hello, gramma.
You sound just like me Haz! I am terrified of the ice.
hi and night all
gramma - was born in Burlington - your comment reminds why i do not miss it...
nite herein
Bye herin.
I don't mind driving on ice as much any more now that we have anti-lock brakes. And I have something to put over my boots which has spikes in it
g'night herin
bye herein. hny
I've seen those advertised bichon, so they do work?
I've decided to get some of those, bichon. I have to go over the garden several times a day, and it isn't level so in the ice it is really difficult. They are called Yaktrax
Yes, they do. There are "Yak Traks" and something I gust got which actually have mental spikes in them. All work
Mental spikes?! LOL
hi everybody, lost power during the night and my computer wasn't working all day
super, they'd have been great when we lived near Toronto
Hello, ruby.
shew
hi ruby
hi ruby
oooops ruby?
Oh duh!, that's funny, not mental spikes, but metal spikes
hi bo
Good start, Ruby!
sorry about the word duh! pb for me
i could use some mental spikes now. or maybe spikes of mental activity. at a standstill with 66 to go
I need a mental spike right now, not getting te5 after the canvas dwellings
i hvae the 9 but only i 8
te plus the start of precipitation, flosey.
ah, thanks Haz
and that's for fireworks
Well done, flosey!
yay flosey!
congrats flosey
whispers to Haz "did you say inside?"
the s on the rightmost column, any clues?
congrats flosey!!
*Whispers back - yes*
They are both plurals of words starting from the other S, bichon
I left my heating on constant even when we weren't here over new year as it was cold lol
st6/18 (I think it is) St**** of Georgia, off west coast
they still sulked when I came back
Dogs are much more grateful.
I have the body of water st, but it doesn't come the rightmost s
Ruby, you joined. Hooked already?
Plural it and it does.
crumble if thick enought to be grateful, rhubarb is not! Casty couldln't care less
It's the plural of the type of jacket Houdini liked.
ty
got one of the S words (right column) - don't see the other???
The other word from that S is the plural of the machine-gunning one.
ty again Sally
strafe
ooooooooops
right you are bo
that was a new word for me
Bad bojazz!
thx Sally - sorry for the goof
flosey, you mustn't have read too many Biggles books.
We all do it. I'll put chocolate brownies in the PB for yoiu.
bo, enjoy a cup of coffee and treats in the pb
i promise not to do that again - until the next time lol
hello sallyds, you changed my life!
*flop*
Lol Haz. I was brought up on those! I was very ill when I was small and my mother turned to my brother's books to read to me.
Hello, floppy.
I'm off to finish the laundry, be back at fliptime
hello, ata
I always liked the Jennings books and Just William as well.
For the better, I hope!
hadn't heard of those books Haz
I devoured books as a child - still do now.
I loved Biggles
And hallo, Ata.
They're really books for children, but well written and very funny.
<- Haz, refresh :)
Well written is the key. I still read children's books sometimes.
(The Jennings and Wiliam books, I mean. Biggles was a bit more gung-ho and warlike)
Love your happy picture of Hobbit, Ata.
Alan Garner. Some of the best kiddies books ever, and still incerdible to read now
Bouncy Hobbit!
she was soooo happy and bouncy yesterday!
Don't know those ones.
We're ready the young adult series Hunger Games and Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
Hi all.....nesters
Jennings by Anthony Buckeridge, set in a boys' prep school, Just William by Richmal Crompton - whole series set in the 30s.
well.....what a ninny I am....lolol
Hello, Flask - what an entrance!
Susan Cooper. Over sea under stone
I really should stay out of the chat....lol
I liked Noel Streatfield as well.
hi flask
Yep....yer right there, Haz!
Hi TO
So did I Haz. All the children's classics I think.
are all of the 8s plurals or comparatives or superlatives or the like?
There's mi8 - plural type of church, think York and West...
oh yes, Noel Streatfield
not sure TO
te8/50 - how old is your canvas dwelling?
There's me 8 - not a vegetarian meal
oh my - what a dolt i missed those!
Ooh, ty for the te 7 and 8 Haz
You're welcome. Apart from those, comparatives and superlatives rule.
brb
well i searched my list and only found one. so i may not have the root words yet. with 45 left, time to get ready for lunch.
so far I've managed to avoid writing an assignment all weekend. I think I'm doing quite well in procrastination
See you later, TO.
clues please for qu6 and qu7 please?
I bet Einstein didn't procrastinate.
watching "highlights" of this decade. no wonder folks are glad to see it go.
qu6 - French for four, and plural for qu7.
bet he did. I must have got it from somewhere
its FRENCH.....we speak English...lol....I have wasted so much time on those two!!!!
thanx Haz!!
You're welcome, Flask.
happy babblingall. see most of you next weekend.
de rien even ;)
See you, TO - travelling again?
bye TO!
bye TO....take care!
yes,on the road again. :/
Take care!
is Spangle smiling her happy Spangle smile today?
She is. She's about to skid off for a walk with husband. It's like watching Bambi.
looooool poor Spangle! Now I'm imagining Lyn's Stew in the snow. He really would be Bambi
the right column s for NBT plz
what is "NBT" please?
what Biggles does
No blank tiles
st7 - either the type of jackets Houdini liked to escape from or st7 - think Biggles and machine gun fire against the enemy.
no blank tiles :)
did I tell you my recent stand for correctness of language, Haz? talking about the Houdini word ...
ty haz
You're welcome.
Do tell.
I bought a gorgeous card a few weeks ago of the Menai St6. Looked on the back and to my horror it called it the "Menai St6s". To anyone Bangorian, that is a travesty. There is only *one* Menai St6. So I wrote to the publisher and informed them. Waiting for a response (ha!)
Don't expect an answer any time soon. They probably don't care.
I'm sure
but I felt better
good for you Atal....
What is a Menai St6?
we used to get failed on our assignments / practicals if we called them the Menai St6s LOL
well God thats for us to know....and you to work out!!!
lolol
poor poor Gothaab!
I hate to see people say Happy new years!!!
godthaab...google it
'morning, folks (google of Menai St6 comes up empty .. just advertisements for merchants)
like St**** of Magellan
ok.....a cllue....if something is not squint...what is it?
so, i gather it's a street. more than that, why is it special?
(no photographs come up either)
it's a big bit of sea between Wales and Anglesey
narrow channel of the sea joining two larger bodies of water
so why would you call it Menai St6?
ohhhh, what an idiot i am! nevermind
because that's what it's called LOL
<-- is having first coffee. that's my excuse :)
wrong st6? :)
:-D
Don't worry Welki.....you're not alone...!
very good excuse indeed
i'm thinking, "how strange to call it St6, why not Str8?"
Menai <- http://tinyurl.com/ybey7l3
I walked over that bridge nearly every day for 3 years
Some day there'll be a blue plaque beside it to confirm.
fireworks!
next to Telford's one
ohh, it's lovely! thanks, ata!
isn't it beautiful!
Congratulations, Angelsong.
congrats, angel!!
now i want to move ... looks like the fishing there wouldn't be half bad either :)
there's a lot of good trawling out in the Irish Sea :) But I bet you're right
(btw, just for a little added hilarity, my google search was for 'menai st6' ... no wonder there were no results!)
looooooool :)
<-- always best to be able to laugh at oneself ... that way, you can be almost certain not to upset anyone else :)
sorry, but that's made my day :)
glad to bring tears to your eyes in a good way *lol*
have you got a nice big mug of coffee no? :)
now!
i do, but to be honest, it really has nothing to do with the lack of coffee. sometimes i'm simply a bonehead :)
aren't we all!
depends on who you talk to *lol*
well I am on a regular basis lol. Only Haz is perfect
Except when it comes to knowing Star Wars things.
even perfection has flaws
And dealing with needles and thread issues.
I'm not good with numbers.
I'm hopeless in crowds of people.
And I've discovered that I'm no Torvill or Dean on ice.
Apart from that.....
looool. noone is. apart from Torvill and Dean
I know.
but you do have a Spaniel of Glory and George Clooney in a cupboard
This is true. Those are significant redeeming features.
and could write your own cookbooks
i wish i had an admiration society, even if only one member
The market's flooded with cookbooks, I'd have to think of a different angle.
no Northern Irish cookbooks though?
Ata and I could start up an admiration society for you and then there'd be two members!
we love you tooooo welki!
Two members to start with and I'm sure we could get more very quickly.
means i would have to start sharing my peculiar talents ... like being able to do a matrix move while falling onto the sidewalk (because the front of my coat shouldn't get dirty)
What are your admirable features, apart from being Canadian?
she appreciates spaniels, that's a good start
i've sunk an unsinkable boat
clue for the in6/18 after the in6/24 please
Did the people on board admire you for sinking their unsinkable boat?
that's quite impressive!
in6/18 - put in something somewhere
they waved from the floating dock. silently. until i surfaced and gave a thumb's up. and then they still were silent. until i started to laugh. and then they cautiously joined in. (can you tell they were husband and children?)
So, you sank the boat under yourself?
what was it? a RIB or something?
RIB - rapidly inflated boat?
i don't know what an RIB is. rowboat? yes, it was. and yes, i pushed off the dock, got caught somehow, flipped it over, slipped underneath and we both sunk (temporarily)
I think she's been overcome
looooool. yes, rigid inflatable boat. *generally* unsinkable
no, it was a heavy old thing, not rapidly inflating .. although my ego was rapidly deflated
I hope someone got photos
with a thankful sigh, she says, "No."
loool
oooo! more snow!
this was after my husband (a lightweight at the time) and i went for a row ... i sat down and the boat tipped up ... i am forever known to my father in law as, "The Admiral"
<-- is no lightweight
lesson of the day: don't get in a boat with welki!
It's easy to admire 'The Admiral'!
Bon Voyage, Titanic!
Okay, time for me to be off, papers to read, time to fritter. Enjoy the grid, it's very friendly. Bye for now!
bye, haz
*gone*
bye dear!
sorry to leave so rudely but somebody was stomping around upstairs and it wasn't the dogs!
oh that sounds familiar!
welki, is that a martini glass I see before me?
yes it is :)
THAT'S WHAT i HAD TO MAKE TO CALM THE STOMPING FEET
sorry for caps
for you? or the stomper?
both, I hope!
the stomper
I'm drinking single malt
i like single malt, too.
at least you got something:)
which one? I drink cragganmore
he drinks v dry bombay gin with a "drop" of noilly prat
we have auchentoshan in the cupboard, have tried several. (i'm not finicky, will drink anything)
lol, in the end, so will I, but some of them are a little peaty to suit me
I dont know how anyone could drink "neat" gin
mine was bombay sapphire with m&r vermouth (can't find NP here in calgary)
I'll look for the one you mention, but I think the choices in France are probably more limited
ohh, you could, ata .. bombay sapphire is a very aromatic gin (boodles is a good mild gin for non-believers)
my son (in the us) knows all the single malts, I'll ask him about yours and hv written down the name
nooo, don't look for it ruby, it's awful.
lol
I love gin in drinks, but I can't bear it neat
neat with evian and an olive isn't bad
smirnoff with evian and a tuscan pepper is better -- no ice!
there was one single malt i couldn't drink .. maybe it was that 'peaty' thing going on
I guess you can tell what we do here in the country.....
Help, please. I have 2 left. EM7/32 and IN9.
Talisker? that's horribly peaty
two left? omg, I feel like a dolt!! it must be the whiskey!
oh yes, I tasted it once, NOT!
in 9, someone who starts a fight
yes!! it was talisker! *ptui* ugh! blech!
yes, it must have been talisker or maybe Oban
looool yes ditto!
anything from Skye is really peaty
thank you zoe, great clue, I needed it!
yvw
zoe, ty
we've tried several single malts .. truthfully, they're a waste of money for us. i don't think we appreciate them as they are supposed to be appreciated
yvw gramma
try cragganmore with a tiny bit of evian -- it's superb! smooth, fragrant
nor me. give me a decent tequila any day!
do you know herradura?
hello
no, but if i run into her, i'll say hello :)
I'm ducking out for a pre-celebratory ciggie. While I'm gone, why don't you guys fill in my last word for me?
lergic to tequila
for me
and we'll make you a margarita
em7...inevitable
nope...em7 high in domain
did you know that tequila actually ages in the bottle AFTER it's distilled?
like the Pope
he ages in a bottle too?
lol ata
the pope? too funny
probably
oafs
whoops
sorry
actually that went with the em7 clue
couldn't get the em clue
he 6/24?
Macallen is the best Scotch. They didn't use to export it. Kept it for themselves.
nm, forget that
em7...someone who is held in high regard...like the Pope
I like that one, too
Macallen is quite good
I agree completely rumple it is the very best
They served it at Edinburgh Castle when we were there for the Highland Cattle convention.
it is Macallan ..though .. I think
i've had one called mcclelland .. will look for cragganmore and macallen
Very expensive
lol welki, if you stagger this way, I'll serve you one
Hey you guys did it! TY
Glenmorangie is lovely, and Aberlour
i'll row the boat over :)
They have a 12year blend that is good.. but it is pricey.. I have some 1978 that is mind-blowing
wtg gramma!!
so what's your boy's name, ru?
May I offer a clue or 2?
I got hubby a bottle for Christmas and it was $260
Dylan
i have just officially stopped looking for MacCallan Scotch.
yikes!
I would sell my hubby on e-bay for $260
I still need the in618 after the 6/24
please, gramma
(has officially put it now on my xmas request list for future suckers)
my husband or the scotch
Just IN**** tab A into tab B
What do you need ruby?
(that is going to make one very interesting AA meeting someday)
everything, I only have 96 words, pathetic!
children just departed with their two - eeriely quiet and peaceful - soon to be replaced by longing for more happy racket...
Well then at least pick a letter or a number
dylan -- and his full name?
TY gramma, got it. May go and have a little Macallan, neat.
saffron's no swine before its time
congrats on your pro status, bojazz!! (hard to resist, eh? i lasted 15 minutes after i began playing! lol)
nor to feel bad ruby - only have 33 so far
baxters is 'mygolden's no paws for concern'
rumple, that is a fine idea! I'll join you right after my shower.
yay for bojaz! he and I started at the same time I think, but I can't get a photo into the icon
down to 37, but need to check on bread rising. Needs punching
what do you think is a really good tequila, ruru-the-girly-werewolf?
punch that bread!
Settle down rumple. Don't go about punching things
herradurra is the best one I know
That is the best I was going to say.. my mexican friends have one that they say is the best (and they would know) I will ask them.. I haven't drunk tequilla since my college days (for good reason)
clue for the bottom lone H?
I loooove Patron platinum. but it's horribly expensive
I like that one too I tasted it recently.
i like tequila ... there should be some international babble convention :)
*writes down herradurra*
have you ever had a vampiro (or bampiro) I'm not sure. That's what the ladies in Monterrey drink
12 babblers walked into a bar.......
vampiro! noooo sounds good though!
HE 4/6 sounds of satisfaction
Patrone is great! Don't think had the platinum tho
ty gramma
very pretty drink ... i'm in!
yw
patron is gorgeous mmmm
I'll look for it here
Someone told me that there is no difference between white tequilla and gold other than coloring
Anything else? I'm starting to get itchy
Vampiro 3.5 fl. oz. of Tomato Juice 1.5 fl. oz. of Orange Juice 0.5 fl. oz. of Lime Juice 2.5 fl. oz. of Silver Tequila 1 teaspoon of Honey Half a Slice of diced Onion Slices of Red Hot Chilli 2 Dashes of Worcestershire Sauce Salt Ice
that sounds AWESOME
OMG, ata, I'm writing that down
coloring added that is
brb..
there are a gazillion recipes .. some are for clear shots, some carbonated, some like ata's ... here's the pic of what i want: http://tiny.cc/xoMaZ
in Monterrey they have a bottled mix, Sangrita (yes, really), with which they make it but that will help me for here in the country. ty ty
Okie dokie, see you all later.
dinner now, see you later

Hi, back, had unexpected visitor. 70 to go.

Go Pav.

TY aslindy. Didn't have that one and wouldn't have thought of it.
sounds colorful, peri ;)
I still have to put my recipe for spinach balls in my profile
Nice peri, and easy is always nice.
ok, they go with a 4 letter word for something like a net
it is a pretty salad
nah pin just habit i guess
does that help?
ok bb in few must spray hair lol
hmmm, not yet....
Peri, they sound yummy and I wish I had them to go with my roast, sweet potatoes and homemade bread.
I really thought Mentate was an actual word.
miss peri...if you are going to an open house, you are taking a dish...you'd bring a dish back with you afterward..it is a directional verb...take goes away...bring comes to..now that I've substituted for Miss Jilli, we can resume the discussion....
We have home-made turkey soup and fresh rolls later.
ROFL
oh lordy Pav, nice job!
Pini... it is a word that means entangled
I have a bit of a roast left my mom made while she was here
thx as...looking
no wonder folks lurk! *lol*
aslindy...marriage is not in the grid...
Hi welki.
Pini, let me know if you need more clue
lol pav
I lurked for my first half of the grid...
now I am unlurking.
ok...gimme a minute
I should lurk...keeps my mouth from thinking too much...
(gotta luv pav's comment) * giggle *
(with absolutely no offense to jilli, of course, but it's amazing what one may learn here - the proper use of words - imagine that!)
pini, the 2 you are looking for go with a 4-letter word in the grid, worth 6 points
I love Jilli, she always has the cool informationin her profile and the best icon pics.
*thinking that my brain might explode*
Really Welki? why?
I think I've learned more of life from this game and chat (overall, not specifically this installment)...and I would only suggest corrections to my dearest of friends...
or is it may explode?
it may if you give it permission...
I felt that way this morning, welki... but took my migraine meds and feel better now.
except for the bronchitis I'm sure I have, anyway...
I am very pleased to be headache free for a few days now.
bingo...found 'em! :)

And it was a blue moon last week.
Hi Gail :-) Just off to put rolls in oven to have with home-made turkey soup. Back later to finish.

in9 yes please!
in9 = start a fight
need more?
I hade that one, I think it's the little ones that elude me....
8's? 7's? 6's?
are you using The List, ruby?
what list?
Lickety's Babble Clues
(below the grid)
it's a list that provides you with the first 2 letters, length / point value of all of the words in the grid
if you right click on it, select "open in new window"
why on ea5 can't I see that in9!
then you can resize your windows and place them side-by-side...viola...a useful aid at your fingertips! :)
ata! detectives INves***** crimes
Cause it's all confusing Atalante. goes up and to the left
er INve****** crimes
ohhhh! TY!!

I'm glad! So do I, it just makes me all warm and smily

I looked at it and it seems very complicated. Maybe I'm just lazy
well, sadly, I need to get moving; have to go to the office today :(
I'll be back later to help clue, if needed ;)
not complicated, ruby...just a matter of understanding how to "load" your words...otherwise it's pretty easy
I have paperwork to do before I go to work tomorrow. I have to stop procrastinating and just do it.
easy for you to say, lol
I'll put something about it in my profile (near the PC icon upload instructions I've been sharing) ;)
watch for it later today...happy babbling in the meantime!! :)

Is it unusual to get so much snow in Britain?
yes!
you need to change your tenrec :)
In the south yes hego.
Hi Caitlyn, Hego, Ata, et al!
Hi Jay
hi Jayk
I know I am out of date on the icon theme will catch up again soon.
hello, jayk
We live in a small terrace (7 houses) with 8 strong blokes who could put the grit out but it was left to hubby aged 66 to do it!
I've been meaning to ask what is an icon theme?
Where do you all get such great icons?
hello all
hello all
Hi Jayk
Hi Peri
:(( cait that is not fair! Hey peri!!
Hi peri!! Happy New Year
hi, peri
I find them on the net with google search hego.
Jayk, if you look at Sprite's profile she lists the themes for each day as suggested by Babblers
google image search
hey peri!
hi Peri
FYI: the recipe for the spinach balls is in my profile!
Ah!!! I see. Thanks.
Hi lynxxx :)
There is a player named Sprite who has a record of the suggested icon themes. If you go to Rankings, you will find her name in the first 5 or 6 on the left hand column.
I normally use my photos or pics
What do you search Mitch?
it helps having a psychopup
I have been to lazy for ages to change, perhaps that should be my new years resolution
Happy New Year to you too, caitlyn
and crazy beautiful cat too Ata :)
search what you will, and see what you get
those sound *delicious* Peri!
There is a suggestion for each date so just go to Google Images and find one on the theme that appeals to you.
I should put up my latest cute pic of sily
Don't change yours Caitlyn - it is beautiful
I was lurking early this morning and people were saying this was an easy one! Not for me--16 left, but I've been at it WAY too long
thanks All
they are really good, Ata. I made a black bean and corn salald that I am taking to an open house today.
Oh thank you lyn
I was here at the flip and three people completed the grid in an hour!!
Cait I love your celtic looking C.
*salad*
FM, refresh!
God bless them Peri!
Ata, the spinach balls have stuffing mix in them so you will like them :)
great one, ata!
Oh that is just Miss Sily!!!
Peri--how do people DO that?
I don't know. Jayk
No chatting helps Jay.
that's what I see most of the day from my laptop!
But that's the best part!
Thank you hego
FM, are you enjoying your new home?
yw
good point, hego
love it and also love peri's receipe!
BUT then is left inside one's own tiny mind
I always do the grid early but never chat then I enjoy coming back later
if anyone makes the spinach balls, pls let me know if you liked them
yes very much thanks peri - lov eit.
I can't wait to try them peri!
you one of those one hour people, cait?
Jay the lurkers do that. they don't chat but just mine the chat for clues.
ok, gotta go to my open house with cousins.
yvw, FM, bye for now
Bye peri have fun
Bye peri dear and happy new year.
stupid way to spell me6.27!

Jayk it all depends on the grid lol

Hi tor Happy New Year
LOL seain

Are you sure DC?
Hi Tor

It takes the root .. All forms of the word should be good ..
;-)

Tor - DizGrannie is very happy with her new status. She had never chatted before, now you can't stop her

oops, tor is right

to put together? in what sense?
yes, the single H needs to have both H's in it to work, hi all!
entangle, jayk
Oh before I go....Ata leave the islands and get to work :) now poof
that's what it was rbud
hi, rbud
For how long does a new year stay a new year?
Till it's the old year?
for me, for a week
til the end of the first workday?
until I can remember to write it instead of the old one while dating things
Probably until you have to pay your first bill, BR
lol rbud
Ahh.... the old "Seinfeld" debate... for how long does one wish others "happy new year"?
though it was fun to write 1/1/10 on things Friday.
schadenfreude: unhappy new year
yesterday was palindromic: 2010-01-02
LOL babrab
br... might think it, but wouldn't say it, LOL.
bad br
there's a pie recipe for that in my profile :)
by gosh, so there is! ;p
huh. The Southern Red Oak outside the window kept its leaves through the last snow. Impressive.
I can't get a 7 here to save my life!
anyone have direct TV? how is it compared to cablevision?
there are two endings that count for most of them, hego
My daughter had it and returned to cable
ty DC
any reason?
what country are you in Shirlock?
The weather caused too many problems, Shir
My sister's family prefers Dish Network
brooklyn, nyc
Great country that!
cablevision cut food network, i'm not happy
more HD channels, and costs less than Comcast does.
I just want to know if they are going to replace those channels... as we are paying for them.
Ooh boo!
though they recently switched to Verizon FIOS. Both they and my mom are thrilled with the FIOS
Time Warner is cutting Fox... doesn't Time Warner cover Manhattan and isn't Fox in Manhattan??? LOL.
FIOS is good, many of my friends have it.
computer froze for ten entire minutes. still not getting that en put together or tangle...?
I just HATE Verizon anything, so won't switch.
Fox has been playing hardball with the cable operators, several are dropping Fox for now.
Jack use m4.6
Jack, meant Jayk
I don't actually care about Food or HGTV... I just wish I had BBC America... used to be part of the family package and then they switched it to the Silver package, which I refuse to pay for.
i am SUCH a moron! Thx lynxx
Love BBC America!
BBCA does rock :)
Yeah Hego... me, too.
no Jayk, its unusual but turns up in Babble quite a bit
Fox being dropped would SO not be a loss...
Got to have my House fix!
but no Fox, no Simpsons or Family Guy :(
kc... Cablevision is not threatening to get rid of Fox... so, it does not affect me, but I would really miss Glee, Bones, House, and Fringe.
i can watch all the fox shows online
eh. Simpsons was old a while ago and theres always DVD for the rest! hmm Fringe would be bad. That I'd miss
Food network is background while i surf
hard to watch food network on my computer and surf at the same time
good point there, shirlock
it's diffcult to eat porkroast with your fingers & babble...
*offers bojazz some chopsticks*
thx dc
I have so much food in my keyboard that I'm worried about bugs!
Thanks hego. Reminded me to shake out keyboard!
tap it a little. It helps.
;-)
Hi all ! Is EM 7 a common word? (all I need for fireworks)
fairly... goes all the way down the left and back up
Sorry, Pug, don't have it.
anyone got a clue for the H, bottom row?
chuckles, bojazz

Could I have a clue for the lonely N in the left corner. Its tricky because all the N words that seem to come from it are acutally coming from the upper 9.

what is Publix?
supermarket DR. their slogan is "Publix, where shopping is a pleasure"
and at my local Publix it is very nice, but not cheap.
ah- do not think we have it here
I think its sort of a Southern thing. Mostly Fl and Ga.
Liek a Harris Teeter.

Oh man, I need to go all doctory.
Hi and Happy New Year, all!
But then again, I still like the 12 hour days.
Hi Pam!!!!! When do you go....
19th
My Mom will be here on Vacation then....should be interesting.
Neat--I think?
Hi Pam
Am bringing my laptop. So I'll check in. Now that retail Hades has ended.
Hi, Susan!
all doctory?
I hope she has a good time, we are going to see the Museum where my Grandmothers tiffany stuff is, and then to St Augustine...
hickory, dickery dockery?
we went to see Avitar 3D, excellent graphics
Perhaps I should beocme a Doctor. Its just that school and residency thing that gets in the way....
good movie, but WOW graphics
That should be nice, red!
Glad the graphics were so good. I am sure the boys loved it.
well, I hope so, as long as both of us are healthy.
True, red! How true. You have certainly had a run of it...
yes, I am a little concerned at how often I have been ill this year. So I am going to try to increase my vitamin D intake...
why D?
I heard people who take D and E actually have lesser colds. I keep wondering how I have managed to get so many this year. I figure if I am wrong, a little extra D and E wont hurt.
wow, I killed the chog!
serf
hands kje the revivial chog kit, continas, Whiskey, chocolate, red wine...
durn
hello everybody
handing out free clues to revive the chog? it seems to be working...
Hi Jacq
Good work, Red
hi jacq.
i see someone mentioned booze and chocolate, sounds like paradise to me
heya red and hego and kje
Our favorites Jacq.
ok back banana muffins in oven
My D was low, red. So, I need to be better about taking it...
oh yes
hi all
hi folks. back for more today
hi jaq! and help yourself... there is still some left somewhere I am sure

Hi all. My new year's resolution is to babble more!
great resolution pk
ha 1 mine was to babble less last year!
down to 90 and seriously slowing now
mine is to get a job and live more
those are both excellent jacq
mine is to drink my way through the william-sonoma bar guide ; )
sad but mi4 is to get back to work
i like kje's the best!
LOLOLOL, KJE!
well, pam... must choose one that has some chance of being kept
Yay kje, our leader!
life is too short not to have fun, so why not make new year's resolutions that are about fun things, instead of things you dread?
Right attitude!
true pk, very true. Mine are all pretty much the regular ones. but...
I plan of keeping most of them.
i want a job badly and i need a job to live more
all mine are that way this year, pk... another is to plant an herb garden, which I have been wanting for years.... another is to take a trip up the east coast to visit friends....
point well taken, kje
east coast? yes? yippee
Will you come to the East coast of FLorida?
I want to be more adventurous. We shall see...
kje -- love your recipe! I am making black-eyed peas today!
Pam, we can adventure to Disney world and both of us try together not to puke.
Now, I will say Disney is nice and all but I am not entirley thrilled with the park, sorry if I just insulted some Disney Lovers.
well, hadn't really thought of that far south, red... but could. I have an aunt and uncle in Orlando I could visit
Ahhhh, we could go eat somewhere really foodie, or at La Lechonera, very traditional Puerto Rican Food and cheap.
tempting red, very tempting... will think about it
Ok I am going to go put meat in the oven. It is cold here and I am not loving it.
bolognese sauce here red... will become lasagne soon, but taking it to a friend
Where are you in TX kje? Have we already talked about this? If so, sorry that I don't remember.
So many possibilities....
omg am so anal with sweets .i have spillage in the oven
I made a bolognese with quorn's fake meat product
was delicious
called overload
lasagne? YUM
dallas, pk - where are you?
no TY on the quorn
georgetown
Oh no, all meat in fridge has gone bad, being sick, I guess I did not eat very properly. It does appear Pizza is on the list now.
If I could eat meat, I would, KJE!
my sister and fam live in Plano
ah, southeast, no?
Oh no, red!
OK, I will be careful what I say about plano - LOL
30 miles north of austin
sending red sheppards pie
no worries - I can't stand the place
Well, I could also go shopping, but, getting the pizza seems the far easier route at this point.
my mother was from Denton and moved back to Texas when she retired ... to plano
with cheese in the middle
Pizza being one of my fave foods, I applaud the decision, red!
Ok, i know your icon is your dog, but I still think SKUNK each time I see it.
My brother adds cheddar to his shepherd's pie, Joanne
BBS,
ciao, red
I assume that was for me red? hahaha
hello, babble, food and drink lovers!
bye red
hi welk
hi welki
pam was thinking that for daughters but decided not to
hi, welki and everyone else i never greeted as they entered
picking up again - yay
hi welki
sounds great, joanne... i just can't eat meat...
ohh
religion??
No, it literally does not agree with me
Nor does premium ice cream
on iffy days, I don't eat shellfish, either
Hi Welki
ahh ok well it seems that may be the way my stomach has been feeling lately
and hubby too
brb
my whole life, joanne, just that I could eliminate it once i was out of my dad's home--1980

ouch pam that sucks
hello all, I am back again
It does, joanne, but it could be worse!
Hi Lindy
I'm sure you all missed me, right
in 9 I don't want to start something so i won't talk about religion here
Hi, Lindy
for sure pam
was that a hint, onyx?
Right lindy
i thought so
mentate is not in the dictionary?
BS
sorry
thanks, onyx, then!
yw= but i guess it wasn't a good one
thanks, onyx!
eeks, penalty box for me... Didn't take too long...
i don't want to open can of worms, not where i was going
no, onyx, it is a perfect clue, very well done
I am out of the habit, onyx! I might be playing since '04, but I have had a break for the past few months!
I just wonder... how many of you have ever actually seen a can of worms?? I mean... not in MY grocery store!
yes, you have had a break, pam -- we've seen your sister here more often than you! (((hugs))) hey all
hi stid
you should see the grocery stores in hull, georgia. they sell just about everything
who is your sis, pam?
i try to stay aways from here too, i usually come when i have too much to do
Hi, stid!
cans no, as -- but styrofoam cottage cheese-looking containers, yes. every fishing hole has 'em!
Suefrad, kje
I can't get onyx's clue....
bags of worms .. in fact there's a bag of maggots in my fridge right now :)
I remember when I was a kid going into the fridge for some food and pulling out the container of worms...
you have reptiles, welki?
ah, did not know that
I have seen cans--collected them, in fact...
eeew
nope, i fish year round
ew, welki... I've seen them in plastic containers, but never cans
wow, this conversation took a bad turn
not to mention the joy that is tub of mealworms...
is that what's in your userpic kje?
(jk)
fish love 'em :)
mealworms freak me out! I hate how they grab on when you try to drop ... icky
oh! didn't know about that. so it's ice fishing season?
they sell them in ziploc bags now, lindy
pam, my husband has a rep for starting things but never getting caught - he is an in*******r
oooh. great clue Good
yes, stid .. for a few weeks now
ice fishing was invented so guys could go out drinking
Hi again everyone.
really?
thanks, good!!!!!!!!
oy. better put the champagne in the fridge so i can enjoy the next round of mimosas after this wears off
onyx, in Finland they have saunas in the backyard for the men to go drink in
I have never met an ice fisher before! *pleased mama look* do you have a little house and everything?
then the women have a turn.
I want to be with pippin, oy.
I would rather be warm than fish
yes i do .. it's portable, but comfy.
i am loving my sunday. literally drinking mimosas and playing babble in bed
i got champagne in the fridg
wanna come over hego?
i'm thinking i'd better have a transgender surgery soon if i want to go icefishing again
i have sauvignon blanc
hey bugs! how are you doing? was thinking about you earlier... I have four days before I start my practicum in the 8th grade language arts teacher's room. No idea what to expect... but excited nonetheless
I'll bring mine pip.
fireworks! (I'll take some champagne!)
why welki? (referring to surgery)
YAY rbud!
congrats rbud!
Here's to rbud!!
because i don't want to disprove onyx's theory that icefishing was invented so guys could go out drinking
yay, rbud
oh! LOL
ooh, stid 8th grade, you're brave!' i meant guys in the generic sense as in people
'course some folks think that way about soft-water fishing, too ... those are the MEN i outfish :)
hey! I just got NBT!
I thought that was the purpose of all guy activities. :-P
yay, stiddy!
wtg stid
I think you'reright, hego!
<-- didn't know fishing was a "guy" activity (more reason to have that sex change operation ... must inform husband of change in plan)
LOL
I've been fishing once. I caught a newt. *proud* LOL
rofl... poor mr welki!
He won't like it Welki
well done atalante!! LOL is hobbit collar-free?
I didnt *plan* on catching a newt ...
OK, down to 40, but must go finish assembling lasagne - bbl
I'm not a big fan of fishing, but I do like to eat fish
yes yes she is :D
later kje
hobbit is psycho
i'm not sure he's going to receive the news of being a homosexual well .... and so suddenly, too
Wait there wasa message for Ata!
that too lol
i used to fish too until i caught a fish and i coud hear it cry as i was trying to get the hook out
hobbit is a doll :)
good for hobbit!
yeah well, potatoes have eyes, too .. so watch out for those starcy tears
We were to tell you that someone was at the sun inn. but who hmm.....
starchy even
I was taken fishing in Oregon, and was having great fun trying in vain to even get the line into the water, and then some little yellow newts appeared!
Lindrickway
Ata, do you know?
oh! lindrick! yes, she left me a note :)
no seriously - you must see the pic ata posted - funniest thing ever! loved it! pure psycho joy
hey tor!
Eighth grade English should be fun for you. They are young enough to be creative and old enough to be deep.
Great!!
<-- would love to host a fishing lodge
and the newts kept eating the bait and they were so tenacious that you could lift them clean out of the water. that of course was much more fun so we played with the newts all afternoon
let me put hobbit back up
8th grade... deep... LOL
that is what I am hoping, bugs. teacher I will be with is really clear about what she is trying to accomplish with her students, too -- I am going to learn a lot!
You would be suprised I think, kje. SOme of thes kids have lived thru a lot!
there. refresh for the pictorial definition of happiness!
sorry I can't spell... No English class for me
newts are fun. as long as they don't actually get caught on the hook. I liked fishing more for being out on the water than anything. but the good food fish went away, and I hated dogfish and bullheads (the first are small useless sharks and the latter are small useless critters with poison spines) all the flounder seemed to go away.
I love dogfish
LOL what a grin! she's beautiful, Atalante
she is a very obviously happy dog, and that just makes me grin
where, stid?
happy dog, ata! ;^)
Southern Puget Sound, welki -- used to get flounder a lot when I was little (40 years ago), when we moved back the flounder were gone, and we stopped fishing.
hey everyone
hey dorn
or doren if you prfer
very happy ^-^
ok banana muffins went over well ...now with raspberry jam in the oven
Hi, doresn!
gorgeous spoonbill doren!
i answer to anything remotely close to doren. dore, dor, dorn, even doreen (which i don't really like)
you can still catch flounder in puget sound .. but the regs are pretty strict
there. Q is grey.
hey pamerooni.. long time
I want to go geoduck digging
how've you been?
let's find some nudibranches!
welk i love to fish but hate to touch them
Evening ladies ;)
maybe, but not in front of my parents' place. they just aren't there. and I wouldn't eat bottom fish anymore anyway, too much pollution from failing septics now
Hi everyone :)
I know, doresn! I am recovering from retail hades.
thanks ata.. altho i saw them, that one isn't my pic
hey muse!
hi NB! hi Leo!
hi nb
Hy, muse!
NANCY BOY!!!! how are you?
hi stid!
hi muse. pam this year i didn't buy anyone cookbooks.. first time in a long time
Hi, nancy
Well Stid...I think I'm still nursing a hangover from new years eve :D how are you?
*waves at Leo* are you boys behaving yourselves? *STERN mama look*
Did someone say NB?
Wow, doresn. Shocked. ;)
hi pam! doren! ata! nancyboy!
hi nb , hego, and others
if joanne doesn't like to touch fish, i'd bet she wouldn't even want to look at a geoduck :)
define behaving, Stid...*sweet smile*
think they might be getting tired of them... they all certainly own far more than they need at this point
welk what is that?
I am actually ill today Nancy Boy, but should be better by tomorrow. I have decided that I am going to stop eating all land animals....
don't try to "cute" your way out of this one, kiddo! Hangover? at your age?
books are like that at times, dor! Especially cookbooks!
a geoduck? ohhh, it's a clam with a face only a mother could love
sorry you're not well stid... feel better
oh Stid, really? now is there a loophole in that which allows birds that fly?
I am quite determined to eat a geosuck this year
Good idea, stid. After all, there are a LOT of land animals.
yikes
geoduck!
geoducka are the biggest oysters ever
Yes, feel better, stid
i know pam. next year they will get them again tho.. particularly my mother who gave me one and i really didn't want/need
hi, babbler!
most of them is outside the shell
hi babrab. how are you?
Well, good nite all. Seeyou tomorrow. Good nite!
LOL, dor! and ciao, hego!
yes, I can still tolerate small amounts of chicken, but apparently pork is now joining other land critters as toxic to me
hey BR
I'm 19, Stid :) Drinking age here is 18! As is smoking age, everything age!
stid had probably seen her share of geoducks .. they're plentiful in puget
sweet dreams hego
Hello, folks
firewords :)
hmph. I don't approve, even if it's legal. It's bad for you! It will ruin your complexion!
ok what i don't know and will never see ..pray to god, i don't have to worry about
YAY welki!
bye hego
yay, welki!
wtg welk!!!!!!

I have seen geoducks, never ate one though. They're UGLY. they're also my alma mater's mascot. *sigh* Omnia extares!
thanks! and hello, nb, babble mymuse and babble
ata started this geoduck thing ... ata, where'd you go?
hi welki ... geoduck sounds like a cartoon character
sorry Stid...I'm a bit of a hedonist in my free time...and sadly addicted to the horrible nicotine. When I was 16, it was legal to smoke at that age, but when I was 17 they moved the legal age up to 18...I almost went mad!
i would hate to look this thing up
"almost" Nancy Boy? *innocent mama look*
here!
ata WOULD start a geoduck thing.. very ata ish
some of them are pretty intense looking .. almost x-rated LMAO
oh dear. is that good or bad??!
ewwww
And you tell ME to behave, Stid! ;)
they look like big wrinkly penises. in a shell
oh certainly not bad, dear, just you
ohh well i may have a peep
LOL ((Nancy Boy)) you just take care of yourself, kiddo!
ohhhhhh, i'm dyinnnnnn....there's this one pic that is really baaaaad
:D
thank you for introducing that image into my brain Atalante! *grabs mental scrub brush*
ok, let's get back to nudibranches :)
they do though!! LOL :)
why am I always here when the conversation switches to genitalia...?!
nudis are lovely
those are randy little mollusks!
lol nb
LOL Nancy Boy! at least it's not "tits" this time!
clams never have been thought of as beautiful (except, perhaps, by other clams)
yes they are .. i love looking at photographs of them, remember seeing them in national geo. when i was a kid
LOL
I'm starting to feel very naked sitting here in my towel right now
*gasp* ANOTHER mental image I could do without! *holds out bathrobe* PLEASE don't babble nekkid!
thanking lickety again and again in my mind. jsut zipped from 84 to 55 in no time flat

i understand I assumed it was one of your english expressions
lol!!
like ta for thanks
no just my rotten typing!!! :-)
and is cheers another word for thankyou or is it saying good bye
it can be both
both
oh really? that's confusing
Everything should be a word for thank you in england...we say it so much
inthe states they just grunt...(I can say I am from there)
so am I...a little bit!
cheers also means .."hip hip hoorah!
it's also something you say when clinking drinks together before downing them. At speed, generally.
but that's who we (united statesians) use it
well what can I say, I'm from everywhere :)
off to bed with 75 left, see you all late tomorrow as I have to go back to work *sigh*
later Katie :)
bye dear!
bye Katie.
bbye katie
its gone very quiet .... so I will tiptoe away ... goodnight all.
good night Mo.
bbye mo ty for the help
* tripping through the door * I'm baaaaaack!
Hi guys and a belated Happy New Year! Has anyone clued the in,9 yet?
have you been drinking pini?
hi babbz
in9 = start a fight (or INve******* a crime)
Hi Pini and Hi Babbz, I hope you had a happy new Year.
Hi babbz
hi oodle and babbz...nope, haven't been drinking...just a big threshhold to cross entering the grid :)
hiya red!
thanks and hi to you all!
ahhh dog is once again asking me to go out, loudly....
Has anyone seen any good movies this Holiday Season? We're going to catch a movie and there are so many good ones out that I'm not sure which one to hit first.
you're welcome ;)
I saw "Alvin and the Chipmunks: the Squeakquel" with my gdau...it was very cute :)
hi teulu!
I wanna see "Avatar"...the reviews of the lay persons have been really good
Think I'll wait till my grandbaby comes in town for that one! I did see Avatar in 3-D, and loved it
Lay persons?
OMG I'm so out of it!
people other than the overpriced movie reviewers
it's meant to be quite a spectacle, if not a very inspiring storyline
I have to check that one out. Did anyone see the Blind Side?
Not yet...another one I'd like to see...the storyline is very intriguing
I thought you meant the Lay Persons was a movie, LOL Pinikula!!
it didn't interest me
* giggle * No babbz...
I like "feel good" movies, oodle, thus the draw
Avatar was amazing - the commercials look stupid, but the movie itself was fabulous
The reviewers hated Titanic, too - but I enjoyed that one as well. I think they just don't like James Cameron very much, as he spends so much $$ on making movies.
That's why I don't particular care to see/hear reviews of the movie critics; I prefer the lay-persons review
I liked Titanic, too ;)
I agree
as I do .. .I don't like suspense movies and even if there is some suspense is some movies I don,t like it...... Give me sound of music, mary poppins, harry potter, lion king type movies any day
harry potter had plenty of suspense! but i know what you mean, oodle
i just like to escape
well I guess that's right babbz my bad
the LIon King is the only movie I've ever cried at in the cinema
I still haven't been able to get my head around ol' Harry Potter (either in text or video)
really? I love it p;ini
yo uknow, Pini, I thought I would dilike Harry, but I rather became addicted to it, like the rest of the world.
I have to finish the last book
My wife watches movies on DVD while I play Babble. Or vice-versa.
I enjoyed the books while reading them, however I couldn't tell you what happened in one book vs another - they all me** together
I am still shocked, that people, have not read the whole series (Oodle you!)
I've never really wrapped my head arond the Tolkein triology, either...
the movies just are not as good, I never really saw the last one.
Pini!!!! the book so fmy Childhood, TOlkien.
I mean, I like the original animated Hobbit, but after that...well...
sorry, red!!!
and I hated that first Hobbitt movie becase the characters didn't look like the people in my head.
I love the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The hobbits are ADORABLE.
Pini, my Dad read them to me, and I think that made it more interesting.
the mordern Films were much more to my liking.
I have to say that Babble sure cuts into my reading time and that is sad. I'm trying to plod my way through "A Beautiful Mind" but I think all the references to the math is probably way over my head
that's possible, red...hi NB, I can watch about 3 minutes of LOTR before I lose all interest
pini, that amazes me. those movies were so well done and on the big screen, wow!
it's tolkien's birthday today. round the world people are raising a glass to him at 9pm local times
I did not know that Ata. Thanks.
well you do have the art representative of the Tolkien Society here to tell you these things ;)
I wish I could say exactly what it is about them, but I can't pinpoint it...
:D Ata.
agate
try again Joansie...
hi joansie ;)
I just watched a movie on the computer that was directed by Peter Jackson (of the LOTR fame) called The Lovely Bones. He does create a pretty good fantasy world in this one, too.
Is there some significance to 9:00 pm?
Or is that just a good time for a glass of wi4?
I LOVE the book The Lovely Bones, was the film good?
wht is being careful not to enter the PB!
Surprisingly better than I thought it would be - and I loved the book, too.
the book was a good book, Nancy.
wasn't it so touching? Made me cry a bit!
red, because if I do, you have so many goodies I would spoil my dinner.
true wht, I have already had dinner.
it was a lovely book
If you caught the movie "Atonement" a while back, the girl (the one who lied) was the protagonist in "Bones" - she's a fabulous actress. It was sad, but more suspense than sadness. Stanley Tucci plays the bad guy - and he was great, too.
Ok, this is not good, we have a freeze warning on, an actual hard freeze warning for Florida. bad for fruit. and for me.
Nope...once more though, I read the book!
well, shoot, red...maybe move up here...we're supposed to be 50-53F this week (night lows in the 40's)
my daughter lives in miami and she's been whining about the 58 degrees down there - it's like minus 10 or something here in Chicago
where are you in Florida, RED?
We've had about 9 inchis of snow here over the past 2 days.
I live right in the middle of the Citrus area, 22 miles from Disney. I try not to complain, but it is very bad for the fruit guys.
i had to buy a heater when I was in florida for the ONLY two weeks it was cold
Slow and steady and twice a day you have to go out and shovel some more.
I bet it is, Red.
apts were required by law to supply heat
I want SNOW!!!
have ours!
wht - are you watching the Buffalo football game? They are getting clobbered by snow.\
may I, pretty please!!!
in the north west pini???? GOOD LUCK
No babz. I gave up after the Pat's blew another one.
pini, I took my turn
can anyone help with the first en 6?
thx oodle
gotcha. good luck with the shoveling.
same as the first in6
I hope we are done for now.
don't have that one either :/
in + screens are made of **** (type of netting)
in + me4,6
oodle...your turn :)
Kari, on Thanksgiving you have m***ed potatoes and gravy (change the vowel to the second one and then add your prefixes)
gotchya. thnx!
Oh gosh I lost internet connection! Pini, It snowed once in COrvallis while I was out there. Once.
what year was that, red??? * giggle *
1994? maybe.
* ahem * red...that was a few YEARS ago!!!
I'll admit it's snowed since then, but nothing this winter yet!
Yes indeed it was a long long time ago. I didn't live there long though....
the oddest thing was that the temp was over 100 in June when I arrived. People kept saying that was odd, I thought they were lying until the next summer....
100F in June is rather odd; we normally get there sometime in Aug/Sep
can I have a clue for the Fa 8 I know it isnt about body noises!
fa8 = waaaaaaay over there
pinikula - the good thing is you can just bee-line for the mountains and get your snow or your cooler weather, right?
good point, babbz...but it's still about an 1-1.5 hour drive to do so...
TY pini!
...then again, the ocean is the other way in about the same amount of time ;)
yvw red ;)
I see. Still, I would love to live in that part of the country. Are you far from Bend, Oregon?
are you in portland or pini?
or vancouver wa
Bend is in that 1-1.5 hr time range due east of me
2 hrs south of, oodle
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
hi min :)
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
eugene?
finished min?
I love Oregon! You are so lucky!
* nodding to oodle *
hey there min
I love the Pacific Northwest! :)
I'm gonna be in Astoria sooon
Out of all the places I've been to or travelled...it's the best in the US
You do have some of the best Hiking areas!
yes portland was a very good place to live except for down down crime... had my car broken into
But I am a confirmed Florida Girl, who knew.
I hear you - my best friend lived in Bend when there was only one stop light in the entire town
down town
it's comparable to my favorite place in Europe (Bavaria)
No, I am not done. I gave up on the grid at 502 with 76 words left. I just came in to post a paragraph clue
oh, how fun, min! Those are so fun to read! :)
Post away Minver!
Good evening. 44 left, but I will do my usual pattern of abandoning it when I get to 20 or 10 or so--it's a theoretical completion, as opposed to an actual.
you gave up the grid at 502??? what do you mean
here to help if you need it, kappy!
5:02 am or pm
Kaplan, that would make me so nuts to get that close.
So maybe that's my problem

Sometimes there are yard sales, and when someone dies, an es**** sale.

Actually, dark is what I really don't like. But we are past solstice.

grumbles. But will bring them in.
he + not elementary school but **
okay, i'll look, but no promises!! I'm not what you'd call computer savvy!
and by hard freeze i assume you mean below 31
(*igh *chool)
supposed to be under 28 for several hours, which I guess is what consitutes a hard freeze warning for the citrus people.
april...good news...the same instructions have recently assisted 3 other new babblers :) there's hope!
thanx
that is hard enough red -- bring them in for sure
okay - here goes, but now i'm being taken away from the 110 words i have left to get!!

or you have more than 1 child and don't want to appear partial?
i must be missing something so simple. could someone clue all three me 5s (the 3 bundled together)? maybe that would help...
I think it means you decided to put a picture of your dog up
its my last m!
i'm glad the answer isn't that my dog comes first...because i am often accused of that here at home!
:) BR

I'm down to 52 left and don't plan on moving closer to 0.
just wanted to put my 2cents in on the temperature. it's only 4 degrees here in MN
hands round the N 95 masks.
i missed teh gooeyducks?
not at all, kari ;)
thanks pini -- it's either food poisoning or a new allergy. *sigh* or something like norovirus, but no one else I know is sick.
Yes Hawkins, but your homes are built for that, you expect it...
should I wear a mask on the plane?
yep. discussions of body parts and all! Nancy Boy was quite amused... rfl
who was it that laughed at my ability to spell gooeyduck before
ar7?
Hi Hawkins! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
i suppose. but we do put blankets up over some of the bigger windows to stay warm. :)
ugh, stid...isn't it frustrating that you don't know its origins?
hello Min -- happy new year!
(at least i know how to spell gooeyducks, she said)
I have 2 of those also! They get their turn next
mini, you're so sweet
nm got the ar7
I dont even have enough blankets to put up over windows...

Doing fine Min. not ready to go back to work though.

anyway people, I'll see you in a couple of weeks.
bummer, I just looked at your profile Red and saw that you are in FL. That explains everything. I hope it warms up soon.
Hawkins, when I saw that you were from Minnesota,I thought you might be one of my relatives. But I have no relatives who are Special Education teachers. My last name happens to be Hawkins too.

see you mini
seeya red
There might a lot of Hawkinses, but I don't hear that name too often. I think it's popular down in the south
em7?
red, I don't suppose you have unlimited hot water? when I was in college (and the landlord only turned the heat on twice a day) I used to take long baths, with my books and tea on a chair next to the tub. It kept me warm and felt deliciously decadent, too.
em7 domain
tx jmc and all cluers, firewords!
thanks for that one jmc!
YAY dan!
wtg dan2
congrats dan
whoo hooo dan!
I did that when I was in school in ROchester, I think I will have a nice hot bath as soon as I finish this grid, thanks stid!
Congratulations dan2bit on fireworks! Good for you!
((red)) I hope it helps. I know what it is like to be cold!
hello all
for everyone in my era, a special is on Peter, Paul and Mary on Public tv. Chao
I really always forget how dreary cold weather gets.
hey TO!
st 6/17 clue please
6/17??
in that case, how many do you need before you can get warm, red?
it is awful here. wind is so srong you can't breathe
st6/27 = s + ***p (snare) + **st (party)
that one?
I would rather have cold than wind... wind makes my auricular appendages hurt!
13..
good clue pini
all t's.
st 6/27= what enemy airplanes do to people on the ground
same here, TO, 50-60 MPH gusts with 30 MPH sustained and teribly cold to boot. Like living in Boston again for me.
but i am making progress.
Hi, dc!
I need to remember the def for that one, jellen! :)

I'm sure there was one in Boston- this is the nerdiest city on the east coast.
and in England a couple times, too, i believe, and in the Melbourne and Sydney aresa of Australia.
yes ty!
En-mishmash, mish or mash, change one letter

O nice Science
Pini -- I just went to your profile and I noticed that in your section on Lickety's clues there are lots of weird objects. This is because (I think) it was composed in Word, with curly quotation marks and apostrophes, and
oooh, welki. i bet those were really pretty!
Hi OSGMA
oh no...thx for checking jilli!! I'll fix it now!
Wht. I don't have my drivers licence. The last time I tried to drive the car I broke it
Well happy dancing for getting the car fixed, then.
and long dashes (sorry about the break). To rectify this, it's best to use Word Pad, which uses plain ones.
It is as himself was mightly unhappy about the situation
gotcha!
hi OSGD -- I missed your story -- will check back
Herin, I understand.
Jill. The car had a flat battery. Nothing major. We think a little light was on for 2 weeks

hello all
Do you need any clues?
hi kje

Pini -- MUCH better! One small typo in #5 -- "you" instead of "your", which I do all the time :) Of course, there's another tip for Lickety's clues -- get Babble Expert if you have a PC!

SCIENCEGEEK! I seem to be invisible to you! I've asked you twice if you saw my clue for you at 7:42 because I'd like to know if it worked.
KJE where is mine?

OOps, now I cannot see it..........sheepishly skulks away

yeah, nothing worse than a Menu Tease! :)
i've known people who really shouldn't be allowed near a kitchen let alone IN one, but that's mostly due to them not liking to cook, just liking to eat

on the other hand...if there's chocolate about...watch out!
He does a wonderful job at cooking. Just wish he did a great job at other things in life, but that's another story. It's too long and personal to get into right now

Good nite Min.
nightnight, Min. sweet dreams
I don't try to hide all the time, I just find myself enjoying the chat so much I forget to look for words sometimes. Then when I can't find them I feel so dumb!
Just tell people I am the one in the corner, under the blanket
*trips over lumpy blanket* oooffff
been there, done that, bugs...but wouldn't worry about it too much at this point! :)
yOU HAD A BEAUTIFUL BOY PIC UP EARLIER DIDN'T YOU pINI?
sorry about the caps lock. . .
* catches lbd before hitting the ground *
bugs ... this morning, ata and haz were talking about a place in the u.k. called Menai St6.. someone asked what it was and they were told to 'google it,'
getting a second blanket
I didd, bugs...he's my grandson ;)
thanks for the save, Pini. Bugs! get out of that corner!
i went and did a search on it and couldn't find a thing. probably because i did a search for Menai St6 and not the spelled out word (which is in the grid, which is why they typed St6 ... i felt like a moron!)
so welki, do you suggest I google it too?
i've got to work on the pics in my camera. Got several great shots of the grands.
* giggle *
lol welki!
they both had a good laugh, as did i :)
LOL I only just got it now too!! PErhaps the thin air in Canada is affecting us!
lb .. i learned something yesterday. if you accidentally hit, 'small format' and then click 'STOP" when you realize your error, it's too late
time for me to head for the pillows. see you all tomorrow!
g'night lbd! :)
so are you stuck with a lot of thumbnail shots, welki?
sweet dreams LBD thanks again for the tea advice (it's working)
Today I accidently hit the button that cancelled my desktop icon for Firefox. I can't figure out how to get it back. . .
hello all.
oh gee welki! *sad face for loss of data on pics*
Stid!! hello again
hi stid :)
hope you feel better in the morning, Stid.
*poof*
Bugs, go into firefox and check the help section, there might be something on that. It happens a lot I am sure!
Oh stid. What is the matter today?
pini, how was the office? had it totally gone into entropy in your absence?
on a pc? on the menu, 'all programs,' find the icon for firefox and either click 'send to desktop' (where it will create a shortcut) or just drag it to your desktop
I ate something that majorly disagreed with me Bugs -- a more and more common occurrence.
(stid .. nothing lost, i downloaded (thankfully) before my error)
went today...and what I ended up doing was something she could have done on her own...
welki! you're BRILLIANT!
Thanks welki! I will try it now.
as for the rest of the "work"...it will start up again tomorrow...I'm sure it will be a "but I need it now" type-o-day
of course, pini! but it's always reassuring to know you are "needed" right?
good for you welki
not really ... compulsive about backing up files
not while on vacation, stid!!!
hi gang
oh well...
*faint* PING!!!!!!
g'night folks
compulsivitiy has its positive points....
HAPPY NEW YEAR PING!!!
sweet dreams welki. see you again soon.
Sorry about your stomach upset stid. Incidently, I read more of your blog and I am an INFP too, only all the time.
...and her comment to my working during my vacation..."well, I've been working everyday over the break"
my madness starts up on Tuesday, or tomorrow if I am well enough to read.
thanks, stid!!
same to you!
(too bad she doesn't realize I don't get paid what she does)
hi ping!
:-D how are the kiddos? did they have a lovely holiday?
marcia is also infp, stid
hi pinky!
thanks Bugs! I never know if that stuff is interesting to anyone or not!
* grin *
it's an interesting way to be, INFP...
what is INFP?
it's a personality profile thingy. We had a fun time with it here on Babble a couple years ago, the stats are up at babanon.
yes, stid, they got to play in snow finally - we were in northern virginia
basically I am an introverted people-person... *sigh*
what fun! and did it ever snow! was it hard to get home?
no - easy travels, luckily
22 inches
Introverted iNtuitive Feeling Perceiving?
IT's here... http://babblersanonymous.yuku.com/topi c/366
oops. link is http://babblersanonymous.yuku.com/topi c/366

Hi again...I'm an INTP
Oh, did I kill the chat?

how were the shrimps
Better, stid?
I suspect pini is ISTJ
Yummy, but difficult to peel...
a little better, thanks -- LBD suggested ginger tea so tom made some. I have kept it down, too!
Good!
I am fascinated by the number of people who know what they are! (and by how few INFPs play Babble
Herbal tea sounds good...perhaps next break I'll make some...
dang, stid...hit the mark on that one (ISTJ)
LOL pini! *proudly adjusts mentalist hat*
don't you love it when you guess right and amaze your friends? roflmao
how'd you know???
I'll go ahead and update the stats tomorrow... will be interesting to see how it looks with all the new INFPs
actually pini, it was partly a guess, and partly familiarity with how that tool expresses itself in real life. It's been a long time though since I really thought about it.
we took the official myers-briggs for a class I had as an undergrad, and I did a lot of research and reading up on it after that.
it's definitely interesting! :)
Just read the whole thing on Babblers. INFP people are represented fairly well here. I would have thought more would have been Es
I think Es are more interested in real-life games, bugs? I think the semi-anonymous nature of this game appeals to those of us who are Is
That makes sense stid! I hate to use my real name but my thots and opinions are always truthful.
and here I was thinking I was strengthening my E side by joining in the chog! ;)
Hi all just popped in to see if clues were needed.I'm an INFJ by the way
Actually, Bugs -- I started babbling when I was recovering from some major panic attacks and agoraphobic/social anxiety problems. As a result of this game, I actually met some babblers in person, started to volunteer in the kids' school... and now here I am in grad school!
hey pugmama!
hi stidders
Hi pugmama.
hi bug
so I guess your theory isn't entirely wrong!
Stid. I am SO proud of you !! How wonderful to hear more of your fascinating story!
bug, meet pug; pug, bug. UGH! *grin*
LOL that's me, the cowardly lion.
brb
hi bug hi pug
when I took that personality test the results said mine is "the rarest of all personality types" which explains why I'm such a mutant I suppose!
:)
well it seems nobody is needing clues so I guess Ill go Boggle some.
(((pugmama))) thanks for coming by, though! I was lovely to see you!
happy babbling all ! Poof!
I think I may go play a game of cribbage...(will keep chog open to clue if needed)
bye pug and pinky
or "it" was lovely to see her... *sigh* being tired again.
not really leaving...opening another window! :)
well, you're always lovely, stid! :)
ping, I did an AWESOME "twitlit" lesson for my friend's 6th grade class a couple weeks ago!
Would you like me to send you the rather sketchy lesson plan?
I must head off too to get ready for school tomorrow. Feel better soon stid. Have fun everyone else! poofing
night bugs! :)

i'd love to see it!!!!
yes, it was.
okay, I will do that tomorrow.
or now, if I can remember where I put those PDFs
can't wait! (just an expression ;)
stid, do you have more vacation left?
okay, it's on its way... was easier to find than I anticipated.
* she must be searching for the PDFs *
* maybe not *
technically this was the last day, but I don't have any classes tomorrow ping. It was a lovely break for my brain!
how about you? jumping in both feet tomorrow?
sent it to your gmail, ping, btw.
in that case, stid, you can jump right in tomorrow for me!!!
i'm jumping in although technically we're closed until tuesday
(taking koda out - brb)
i've got a lot
pinky i met another dog named koda this week
LOL pini! I can jump right in... do you mind if I bring my barf bag along just in case?

I haven't seen her in a long time.
I haven't seen her here in ages...
i don't think so, stid
i play other games with her on facebook sometimes though
oh well, people come and go, don't they? I suspect as her kids are getting older she (like me) has less and less time for such nonsense.
brb, need to give my dog her aspirin, steroids, and anxiety meds...
garg, 2 left and i can't find them!
*nonsense said in a loving tone, of course*
killing me!

what happened to all the words after the river in france?
se5= se + adult males
se4 = se + brit g'bye
se5 following = same but add 2nd vowel
se5 = se + males
remove the last cons for the se4 prior
se4 = que se** se**
se5 following = se4 + "eye"
how's that? :)
