Don't fret jilli, it's nice and cozy here.

Yay Nan !!!
YAY nan!!! Now will you answer the question I've asked teice?
yay nan
fireworks congrats nan
wtg Nan, well done
and congrats Dee
congrats!
NAN -- who is the lady in your icon? It's not Lickety, as your writeup says, lol!
sorry jill -- I've had my nose in the grid -- what did you want to know?
YAY dee!
Yay dee too !!
pints
oops
thought I'd erased the write up! lol -- c'est moi
no pb for that
ty
Nice looking lady you are, nan :)
off to check emails; hugs til the flip! Some days I hate when the bitsy ones go so quickly.
ty -- fixed it now
phants -- pilot, piton, pints (yes, flosey, lol)
dee how did your lesson go?
learned a lot, but see a lot more I would like to know immediately
yay nan and Dee!!! (was off in the kitchen fetching my popcorn...) :)
you'll be teaching her soon
got back up taken care of, writing to a DVD; copying, scanning, envelopes...
lol doubtful
ty rb
should I go back to my sewing or are clues wanted?
still don't like the new adobe phot as much as I liked my ancient one, but we'll see...
sounds like you learned quite a bit
finding some of the newer programs more cumbersome; too many steps to do simple things
thanks nan I still have too many
ooh -- did you get a new adobe photoshop?
I think so...
dee, that sounds like some of our new library program
yes Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0
I can imagine jili
I have that, dee, but use very little of it -- need lessons too
I'm still using photoshop elements 2 -- does eveything I need it to do and not very complicated!
my humble opinion... on the new systems they are trying to do a little of everything, and nothing seems to be as stellar as the old; today the tech told me that Office 2010 will be going back to the style and components I like so much... well, duh, this one is crap...
Oh -- my Photoshop Elements is 6.0
I agree nan... I may actually see if I can install the old one... I like that much better than the newer ones
having said that, aren't the red eye removal and photo enhancement features better?
Mine installed just fine on windows 7
I wonder why the mengineers always try to fix what isn't broken
lol -- good question
and why can't they make a new os that will run all the old programs?
phot enh good; I don't like the cloning tool apps as much; & tough to fix old photos... worked on one this afternoon and am still not happy with it
they want us to have to buy new ones (tech's comment)
agree west
well all, I am poofing with hugs; having ladies over for coffee in afternoon, so need to get a few things done and get some rest
I can no longer open my MSPublisher documents from the older version -- infuriating -- my small books about my China days included
I wonder if apple is any better than ms?
jili, a tech can convert those old files; she took care of transferring all my old publ to new computer'
sweet dreams dee
well, the applephiles say so
a friend of mine loves her new apple
can someone clue that ne 7
my daughter switched Nan and loves it
hugs ru!!!!
hi dee
If things with microsoft get any worse, I may just bite the bullet and switch
oh? I'll have to try for that
ne7 = a compound: "new" + "kind"
but no Lickety on a Mac, nan
I don't use 1/10th of my apple 'files' lol but I do like the easy way it works
I mean no Expert
prefix for new + to make words on a keyboard
thanks grem
hubby just got a new laptop with windows 7 and most of the old programs will run on it -- not word perfect though, which is my favourite word processor
k.... poofing now... hugs to all!
what does the 8 start with?
thanks grem
de8
de8, ruru
I agree with you there nan, don't like ms word at all
when I switched over to Windows 7, only one program I used wouldn't work, and it's one I wrote (so I had to fix some code!)
but then, when job went on computer, that's what I got use to
hi ruru!
hello jilli..
There is a website called Oldversion.com where you can dowload old apps from. Hi all not really here still waking up
good morning, mitch
that's good to know FM, thanks
oh grem you'd be nice to have around
hmm don't see the de 8
Thanks, FM, and hi!
now that I've chatted long enough that it is too late to go back to the sewing, I think I'll take my book to bed!
last six letters of de8 are the same as an op8 meaning the team you play against in a match
*waves sleepily at everyone* going to make some tea. TTFN
same ending that goes with ex and op, ruru
And what's YOUR favourite museum, FM? It's your icon theme suggestion ;)
sounds like more fun nan sewing is not my forte
Will change icon when I have my tea jilli back in about 15 mins.
hi again
re-hi, andree ;)
hi again andree
opened my big mouth with a suggestion and now I'm making 8 golf purses for the hospital auxiliary gift shop! -- that'll teach me...
clever girl nan
that sounds like a good project
post some pictures when you're done
bet they're super, nan!
will do west -- good night everyone :)
happy reading nan
night nan!
can someone clue the de 8 in another way?
grem said if it started with ex it would be a math term
? oh that helps a lot..lol
de + u*** (on top of) + *** (tree creature in Lord of the Rings)
de 8: an op 8 is your adversary -- change to op
de 7 the parts of something are the com******s
* the op
de + corn **** + CBS is a *e*work
Our forecast calls for a heavy storm of clues in Babble.
lol, grem!
thank you
lol grem
Followed by a brief silence, then fireworks.
did you get it, ruru?
yes finally.. couldn't see the op
gj ruru how goes the puppy?

Hello, FM. ms nouveau riche
we're getting snow drops on Thursday
yes, it's January, and one of the hills for the Olympics is a bit worried about snow. Whistler is thick with it though.
Hi FM. Must have been all that snow, good for bulbs

Greetings BR :)
FM has your snow finally gone?
no flosey I mean dropped from the sky
I see your museum now, FM -- I used to prowl the NY subways to get to mine and the Museum of Science and Industry, where there were interactive things to do even back in the 40s

and poof for me too, must attend to dinner
gd morning everybody
back again!! and darn, what next! went in to the kitchen and dark red juice puddle beneath the fridge! Guess the plumber accidentally hit the wrong switch - had to clean out the freezer part of fridge (side by side type)
poor flosey, and you had to pay for that....
it was after midnight last night when they were working, so really can't get mad at them
they won't charge us for that midnight visit, it was something to do with the connections they had made to new filtration system
ahh
anyway - got my freezer cleaned out - and not much loss
no meat upstairs, just a bit of fruit
the red puddle was blackberry juice
do you ever find old, unlabeled things in the back of your freezer? or fridge, for the matter.....
yes ruby, lol, they went in the garbage
things you put in there thinking you'll use in within a week or so!
I always try to remember to date and label, but invariably forget...so there are these mystery tupperwares of old main courses
think I need a cup of tea now to settle myself before going to bed
fortunately, they are always things my husband likes so I just "surprise" him from time to time when I don't feel like cooking
I usually date and label - but yes, there are times when you're hurrying and think you'll remember
this is a hard grid for me and my ranking is going down!!!!
can I help ruby, I finished before going out to find this mess!
are you using Lickety's clues?
any e word, I only have ed4/5
no, I try to do it without clues, mainly because I can't figure out how to use them
or listing for that matter
ei4 and 5 - the down that is used in pillows and quilts
I should havre known those, they were in the grid 3 days ago I think
thank you
el5 - e + a cut of meat
en4 en **e man river, do you know that song?
ev5 e + please in**** me to your party
thank you for those, I just didn't get the meat one, but I'm experimenting....
think pork **** chop?
or sir**** steak
going to get a cup of tea, brb
got it, so no more e's
nice to have some grey squares!
ok, back with tea, now what?
bottom r?
sounds like there was quite a RY** after the the soccer game
the word would usually be ri
I guess you' d call that a babblet? but I'll try to remember those. I'm embarrassed to ask for more, but thank you for your help
please ask, I need to settle down after cleaning up that mess
I have neither c word
you are very nice to offer
penny and ce5 is add a vowel
I just looked at your profile; the aquarium sounds fabulous!!!
am enjoying this ruby - I appreciate when there's someone to help me with clues
it is an amazing museum
we always take visitors there
when we still lived in Miami and wd go to the Bahamas, I would snorkel in arm's lengthdeep water and see wonderful things, but since I can't swim, would rarely venture deeper
wow, for a non swimmer, that's pretty daring
we are retired here to France and although it is beautiful here, it is very isolating
I love to swim but panic when get my face in - of course can't dive for that reason
and the lake water is never warmer than 55F, even in summer
really? why
plus, I'm spoiled by the warm ocean where I am, at least, a little bit buoyant. Here, I would sink like a stone
wow, that's not very warm for swimming
also, I would never let anybody see me in a bathing suit, used to always wear a t-shirt
right, we live on a small island off the west coast of BC so are surrounded by pacific ocean but I've never been swimming in it
we have neighbors who swim across the lake, more than a mile! It's Lac d'Annecy
it must be very cold and forbidding. I've only been in the Pacific once, a long time ago, and I was terrified
I'd love that, not a strong swimmer but if I lived by a lake like that I'd do more and so build up the strength
I have a friend who used to live on one of those islands where you are
well, Jillibus - you know jilli? swims regularly in the ocean
I have lost most of my muscles in the last couple of years, not strong at all
she lives here on same island
oh, how nice for you two
oh, do you remember the name of the island?
we play bridge at the same club
no, but she edited a newspaper there and is an author. I know here from Lexulous. Now she lives in Vancouver.
lots of very talented people seem to like the islands
it is lovely chatting with you flosey, but I am afraid my dreaded husband will be back in a minute with the groceries and will be furious that I'm not dressed; he thinks I'm a lazy slug
oh dear, well you must not let him find you in that manner, lovely chatting, enjoy the rest of your day
I should be off to bed, almost 1: am
will finish my tea and be off
thank you, I hope to see you later and really appreciate your help, at least I'm above half lol
sweet dreams
good for you, bye now, and ty for sweet dreams
holla
holla jady
or "allo" as they say here! lol
ello all, bit late tonite....had a luverly day with both dtrs and all 5 g/kids.....had a portrait taken of all g/kids as a late chrissy pressie as 2 g/kids live in another state
lovely, lucky you, grannie!!!!
thanx ruby...lovely to have them all at once....but bedlam...lol
I can't imagine it; it is VERY quiet here, just the occasional husband shout or dog bark lol
had all 5 kids here on Sunday night....first time they have seen each other in person for 18 mths (they talk on webcam a lot) so they were all ballistic...lol
bouncing off the walls?
yep!!!
I had a lot of cousins and remember how much fun it was
not it's time to fix a drink for husband, lunch out today, couscous in the local tiny resto!

i don't have the 8 yet, sorry!
i know it starts with "de"
gotta read to my son now, bbl
de8/50 - If it began with op, it would be the person you're trying to beat in the boxing ring, or in a business deal or something.
Time to go, bye for now.
Haz, I'm up at sister's, don't worry if I dont' come onto babble till weekend
Good morning Babblers

Hi Bo
hi scrab hi bo
oodle, any progress with the job hunt?
nope
nrkii finally got a job after almost a year. Don't give up, Oodle!
hi folks, hi scrabler ! havent' seen you in a while
Hi JBV--yep, not been up to chatting for a while
good morning everyone
Hi Annie
hi miss annie
me too - got up extra early this morning, so have a few minutes before real life kicks in
hi annie
hello scrabbs, sir oodle, JBV
good morning babble friends!
My alarm is set for 6 but I woke up at 5 and was wide awake so I got out of bed.
Hi Trif
hi Trif and hi Oodle
scrabbler! haven't seen you lately - you okay, dear one?
life? explain to me what this life is... I have never experience it hmmmm?
do you have to be to work scrab?
I've been up quite early. My friend was on her way to work yesterday and was mugged. The mugger threw her down and a bone in her knee is broken. I will go to see her later in the hospital.
oh no, annie!!!
omg annie
oh how terrible annie? so sorry to hear that
Trif--I have been struggling with life for a few months
Annie--how scary!
we here at babble absolutely LOVE you, if that helps at all....?
Yes, it is awful. She is 76 years old and was still working at Social Security.
Oodle, I have to leave for work in 25 min
TY, Trif.
lots of love going out to scrabbler
and to annie and friend
work??? what is this work???
TY. I am trying to escape from the Black Monster.
Scrabbs, You are one of the people I love and admire.
I know that monster, scrabbler. makes richard head look like santa, doesn't it?
I think we all know that monster at one time or another in our lives.
The Black Monster lies and distorts.
I don't understand work... is that when you go outside and mow the lawn and trim the trees and plant flowers and then inside so the laundry and cook and clean???
that's a lot of MY work oodle, yes!
work is actually one of the great enjoyments of my life
i look for pleasure in small bits - have the good fortune of being around children a lot -
That is the unpaid work
but you go to a different place I heard and some even get paid for it???
Oodle, you have been unemployed for too long.
I had my worst day of work YET yesterday, and I have to admit, a day like that is off-putting. I am quite nervous to go back today, but hoping things have settled down over night. ever the optimist (snark)
BRB, must grab breakfast
oh too bad, Trif - what kind of work are you doing?
what happened trif?
what are you going to do after you grab it scrab hmmm?
I work with kids with expressive and receptive language issues, specifically in the area of reading comprehension and decoding. I mainly work with one little boy with a HOST of problems, and it all went pear shaped yesterday, and when I left he was open-mouthed WAILING, face to the wall. And, to make it all perfect - there were two new families in the center, having their children tested for possible inclusion in our program. Yep, that's me, the ambassador! god help us all....
*gobbling PB & J sandwich*
oh, gee!
But that is not your fault, Trif.
how old was the wailer? and would he be more settled if a parent was around during the lesson?
great choice, scrabbler! protein, grains, and the good sugars and vitamins from the fruit. I am glad you are eating well, and taking care of yourself
well god bless you trif... can't seem to work with people like that. gee thank God for people like you trif
why do you think you are at fault?
not sure my little friend was thanking god for me yesterday....
But kids have meltdowns when frustrated, tired, hungry...
he and I had made a deal - he had been goofing off for most of the session. I told him if he worked really, really hard for the last half hour, he could have this special reward that he wanted. he didn't do ANY work the last half hour, no matter what I tried, so I didn't give him the reward. and then all hell broke loose. as a mom, I know I am right - I don't reward bad choices. but as his clinician, I feel like a major bitch.
Trif are you a reading specialist? speech/language?
yes, jbv
You did the right thing, Trif, and he needs to learn about consequences
just had a conference with a teacher about this yesterday, she said she tried student of the week - we told her a week was too long too wait for a reward, so she broke it down to student of the day,s
still no results.
so now she has a student of the morning! and one for the afternoon !
maybe a half hour was too long for this little one -
no trif you are following through with what you said and very good perenting skills I might add
it's going to be interesting to see what happens tomorrow, when I am scheduled to work with him again - either he will refuse to work with me at all, or he will snap to and actually do his work for once, since he will have learned that I am the clinician he can't goof off with
right scrab
Sad, isn't it, JBV, that so many kids are not taught to aspire
When Bobby was 2 years 10 months I enrolled him in an Early Childhood Program at a progressive nursery school. He cried for months and the nursery teacher would not give up. I sat in that room with my baby daughter for 3 months until Bobby settled down and the teadhers were a blessing. If they had given in at that age his life would have been harder.
scrabbler, we are seeing more and more extreme behaviors even in very young children - we have a behavior specialist in the pre-K now
By their parents, I mean, JBV. Too many kids are the bosses at home
maybe so jbv. I struggle with that thought all the time - when is he just being a typical kid, trying to goof off, and when we have honestly reached the limits of his abilities. but to be honest, my "spider sense" is telling me that no one has pushed this kid much, and he gets given in to a LOT. Well, meet your wall, kiddo.
Yes, JBV, I am appalled daily in the office, at the behaviors of both parents and children
yes, of course, children learn what they live - so we also do parenting workshops - not sure if any of it is working
Alright, I have to leave in 15 min, so I must transform myself
Bye Babble Buddies
bye scrabs - have a good day
Bye, Scrabbs
me too, time to get ready for the real thing
it must be really, really hard to be this boy's parents. of course they would want to cushion him as much as possible -- he has been thrown enough curve balls by his genetics kecking him up already! but there comes a point....
transform in the scrabulator
bye scrabbler! take our love and admiration with you today....

Hi Hursh. Can't think of it for the life of me.
hi and bye Eva

Hi Eva
hi eva
G'day :)
HI NB!!
hi nan
Hursh! Who was it?
Nice enthusiasm, Hego! How are you? :)
good, good and you
I went into a bakery about 15 years ago and I asked the girl do you have any wheatless bread... and she showed me white bread. I rolled my eyes and left
Opera composer is Verdi.... but Four Seasons is a series of concertos by Vivaldi. =) Hello, all!
Veddy, veddy interesting.
ding ding ding and ooops!
lol
*steal NB all to herself* hola! :)
I actually have a cd of that. Duh.
Eva! *squeezes* :D
I still can't stop humming Pink Floyd/Wizard of Oz after yesterday
The sun is shining, quick grid... goes a long way toward mitigating the hassle of running a meeting tonight.
I don't even want to know what Pink Floyd would make of the Wizard of Oz!
hi nb
name that proper noun! actor nick of "cape fear" and "the prince of tides"
hi
nolte
ding ding ding!
Nolte?
"Follow the yellow...brick in the wall."
Hi Oodle :)
i wish pink floyd was still good
be careful with that ax eugene
Hi jmc
lol Judi
Hello, jmc. Good one, Judi.
I did find Pink Floyd had no flare without Roger Waters...
and the connection is: if you play Dark Side of the Moon over the wizard of oz, it syncs up :) Tried and tested!
btw pb hursh
No flare? They gave up their bell bottoms? lol ;)
ok bbl...
i know NB
Weird!
I only have 298 more words to go :D
Bye Oodle
they sold out their music to make it more "popular"
or even flair! ;)
Ah. Oddly enough, I never tried that.
I think they just had a problem with Roger Waters taking over a bit. I don't know why it was a problem. Roger Waters taking over sounds AWESOME.
LOL Vic. It's fantastically trippy.
the documentary "which one's pink" is a pretty good breakdown of the breakdown in pink floyd
I believe it.
damn computer just turned itself off and on again
Secure your plugs, jmc!
jmc, is your computer's name by any chance "Hal'?
it isn't saying vic
ive heard of that synchronization, NB... interesting to hear that it really works. :)
i think it was one of those automatic update things
Tin foil hat time... again.
good idea *puts on foil cap*
did hursh ever go to the pb?
of course i did, that's why i haven't said anything.
I was mindblown, Eva ;) some bits you need a little imagination for...others are just really clear. It looks like a music video. The munchkins dance in perfect time to "Money"!
lol sorry hursh don't mean to disparage you!
what does the 7 start with?
it does work although being stoned helps
lol! Sounds like Pink Floyd had too much time on their hands!
i remember seeing something about it on tv once and the line "10 thousand years have gone bhind you" was playing while the scene was of dorothy walking down a long, long road...
hi hurshy, 7 starts with ne
greek for new =7 start
hi cath
NANCY BOY: did you sync the music to the video or has somebody down that work and have it for sale?
thankees
hi jmc
LOL Jmc! I might try it stoned this evening and come on babble raving about having seen "into the eyes of god", like I did the first time I tried that stuff...
ye4, yo4, and?
another ye4!
Jmitch, it syncs itself! Just start both the album and the film at the same time and it just plays in synchronity :)
you can catch bits of it on youtube I think, if you're curious...works better if you do it yourself though
ve4,5,4, vi4, and ?
gutted, 8 to go and younger one just waking...
vi5
well I've heard you have to start at certain place and never had the patience.....my "chemical" days were back w/ vinyl albums and VHS tapes!
let it never be said i encouraged anyone to get stoned NB
oh fish me!
the certain place is the beginning jmitch
I think any discrepancy comes from people skipping through the mostly silent opening of 'Breathe'...I turned on the music when I saw the MGM symbol and it worked perfectly :)
well w/ vinyl and VHS it had to do w/ the MGM lion's 2nd roar i think
Let me assure you I need no encouragement Jmc ;)
i'm just saying NB. . . .
who am i kidding? I remember when VHS was the latest.
heck i remember when 45s went out because everyone used LPs
sounds about right Jmitch ;) I think a lot of it is just trial and error. Plus, if you're trying as hard as I was to see connections, then you do invariably see them. Cool, though!
pyro is a word :-(
78s 33s
that's right BR

ANd we come full circle to the opera composers... "Hello Mudduh, Hello Faddah" used a tune by Italian opera composer Ponchielli.

WTG, Judi!!!!
there is nothing new under the sun vic!
Well, not much, anyway! ;)

bolero is much much more annoying
shindig
hi welki
american band stand
You're right, I'll grant you that, jmc.
yes, bolero is awful. 23 minutes of snare drum. blech.
good beat easy to dance to
that and pacobelle's cannon
lol BR
i rate it a 9
That I will not grant you. Pachelbel's canon is one of the greatest pieces int he history of the world.
hullabaloo
hahaha .... we can call it taco bell's cannon!
pacobelle? is that a pretty Mexican food??
lol, Une!
<-- doesn't care for it either. we're in the same camp, jmc
Rafa needs you again, Une
i turn the radio off every time it comes on vic -- it is like dripping water to me!
ohhh, and that vivaldi piece, the one with all the voices ...used in commercials all the time
once again welki and jmc stake out a position together!
lol. Ah well. And rumor has it that some people even like Bolero, so what can you do?
poor Rafa, wish there were a magic knee therapy!
*links arms in solidarity with welki*
we could have caused trouble if we'd known each other when we were younger :)
gah, 4 to go, help with pe 6,24 anyone??
Vi, I'm lining up with you re Pachelbel
okay as nice as this trip down memory lane is I gotta go save that pesky world again
who am i kidding ... we WOULD have :)

Good luck with that, jmc!
Bbl
bbl
Yay! I have a Pachelbel friend!
yep, i'm off, too ... airport in a couple of hours to pick up kid and grand-baby
Good afternoon/morning all.

hi/bye everyone
Hello, Haz!
Hi Haz
hey, haz!
And I like Pachelbel as well.
Bye, welki!
yay, haz!!
One pe* customer + to leave the living
But how do you feel about Bolero?
tx BR
liked Bolero till it was ruined by "10"
It's okay in shortened Torvill and Dean version.
Hello, phaeton!
I have always been rather fond of the Six Fat Dutchmen
must run -- byeeee *poof*
Oh, yeah, I forgot about Torvill and Dean.
Bye, Une!
be well, Une
But I kind of like my music to go somewhere, Bolero seems to just march on the spot, getting louder and louder.
ty br, jst the pesky ry and two first ve to go...
Bye Une!
Gosh, I don't even know six fat Dutchmen. Maybe 2 or three, and some skinny ones...
ry sounds like looting by a mob etc
ty hurshy
morning! just popping in before i go to breakfast
Hello, hurshy
I always think of the ry4 as a mediaeval skirmish. No doubt it means something entirely different.
i need 2 O's, 5 and/or 6 letters in length. i have law and or5.
hello brabble! and haz! and everyone!
Hello, hurshy.
each day we get ol 5
Hmmm.... looks like an Indian peasant. SO imagine them with pitchforks, I guess...
and an ol 5 but goodie
must you rub it in BR?
well don't i feel fishy
BabRab was listing a lot of ol5's
it an ol*** but a goodie
An angry Indian with a pitchfork could cause some damage, you're right.
any L6?
sort of like the tea
le6
thank you!
is there an R6?
yeas
conspire again
thank you again!
Yes! When Agatha Christie couldn't get her characters to cooperate, she had to re6 the whole book.
oh to hungry to think properly. i'll bring back muffins for the pb.
pl 4,5 again
one D6 or two?
nice haz :)
2
can anyone help with ve 4,8 and ve 5,18? I'm going cross eyed
the troops were de6ed in afghanistan
aHA
ve5/18 - kind of Dutch/South African word? ve4/8 is one letter less at the end.
ve4/8 and ve5 are alt spellings of the African plain
de + corn thing like johnny cake maybe
ve5/18 first three letters of a cloth with a raised texture, last letters used to describe 'the shakes' experienced by alchoholics.
or to question under oath
that leaves two P5 and two P6
spanish peter
pe6/24 - similar to the part played by Joanna Lumley in the Avengers. Or is that too British a clue?
well, i think i've only seen her in "cold comfort farm"
but perhaps i can puzzle it out
Tvm haz and vicuna, fireworks for me, must go and get the little one calling from cot!
yes, i did!
Yay for cathsains!
that leaves ONE p5 and ONE p6!
Latin through, three quarters of an eating regime (for that pe6)
pr 5/16 works best with a fulcrum
pervert
po6 - p plus what BR reminds us we are all getting every day.
you mean like when you pr* something with a crowbar? i have that
congrats, cathsains
Well done cathsains!
That's either a phantom or a serious accusation, phaeton!
thank you haz!
pe + the ***g and the short of it
yay!
You're welcome, hurshy.
thanks!!!
something bothering you phaeton??!
sorry...must be a phantom ;)
dang, it's only just after 10 am
i'm going to blow through all my puzzles again today and be bored again, aren't i?
Yay for hurshy?
byef
Time to get back to work on your SHakespearean drama, then, hursh!
that should be bye all...
be well, Vicuna
be well, cathsains
i haven't worked on that in aaaaages and don't have the work on this compy :)
it's ok, if i finish my puzzles and nobody gives me any work to do, i have a bio of the wives of henry VIII to read.
excuses, excuses
That should be interesting. I think Catherine Parr is fascinating.
Is Catherine Jack's mom?
Well, speaking of getting to work, and all that, I guess I'd better be off. Back later to mop up the last few. (I like mopping up words so much better than mopping kitchen floors...)
a former student asked me to give him suggestions on some of his college papers last week. there was a line in one of them that went "One literary figure, William Shakespeare..." - i cracked up.
Nice to see you, Vicuna, enjoy whatever mopping you do.
he also inadvertently claimed, in another paper, that the history of north america didn't begin until white people arrived.
Bye!
bye bi vi!
oh dear, that could have implications i didn't mean.
i just was transitioning from bye to vi.
not to worry
I hadn't even noticed until you said.
well it's always better to notice and disclaim responsibility yourself before anyone else notices.
How do you like your job now that you have been at it awhile, hurshy?
oh, it's alright. i mean, if you have to have a job that you don't really care about, this one is relatively decent. it would be great, someday, to do something that i really loved, though... if i could figure out what that would be...
ok I am back, front, top, bottom and both sides
Have you thought about writing children's books, hurshy?
howdy, oodle
i have just thought of a silver lining to the climate change problem. as sea levels rise and places flood, there will be increased work for mapmakers.
howdy
well, i guess i have thought about it on one occasion or another, but i'm such an introvert, i sort of need to do something that forces me to interact with people, whether it be colleagues or clients or whatever.
clue for el5?
e + pork l***
ty hursh
I bet you are almost done eh BR?
all done, oodle
Are you not happy with your introversion, hurshy?
omg ... I bet in 20 minutes eh?
I am a plodder, oodle
ohhh ok
The secret of having everyone think you're a genius at babble is never to give any indication of when you've finished. People imagine that you're brilliant.
no, i'm ok with being introverted, it's just that even as an introvert, you don't want to have no human contact, and yet, if it isn't sort of, THERE, i don't seek it out, and then i get lonely and depressed.
Not that BR isn't brilliant, but you know what I mean.
Fair enough, hurshy, it's finding enough interaction to keep you happy without having so much as to make you feel uncomfortable, is that the difficulty?
yes. i thrived in college, when everyone was just right there, and nobody had kids, and you didn't have to feel like you had to schedule time to spend with them, but it was also easy to retreat to your own room.
"perv" was not found in the dictionary of course not, enable dictionary. he would more likely be found sneaking a peek inside your bedroom window when youre changing for bed...
done
wtg phae
congrats, phaeton
I only discovered recently that Peeping Tom was a real person. I hadn't known the Lady Godiva connection.
ty
Well done, phaeton.
children are very problematic. one needs them, and they can be fun and cute, but they do get in the way of a lot of the rest of life. and then if they lose their parents... there was a guy on american idol last night who'd been in like 25 different foster families. it seems to me that you need to have that biological instinct to love and protect a child, or else even the best of them is too annoying to voluntarily live with.
Sometimes even the biological instinct runs a bit dry!
Most everything in life involves tradeoffs
indeed.
thats new info to me also, haz. now i feel educated. :)
I'm interested that you think that children get in the way of your life. I suppose for many parents, having children is what helps to give life purpose.
i suppose it does. but then, that's why i've opted not to be a parent!
I don't mean that life is hopeless without them, nor that life is continually a bed of roses with them, but bringing up my girls has been very satisfying for me, perhaps more than I could have thought possible and without resorting to thinking that the sun rises and sets on them.
yes but you live in ballymena and have a vet for a husband. i might be able to raise kids under those conditions.
I'm realising as I get older that I have a very strong sense of family - maybe that's why I feel this way.
But people raise children all over the place!
Haz, when they got in trouble, or did something that drove you totally batty; didn't you feel that you wondered where they came from --that they weren't YOUR kids?
i know they do. but *i* wouldn't want to.
Nef, it's funny, by and large they haven't been too bad, but they are exaggerated versions of my and my husband's characteristics. It's like looking at cartoon versions of yourself and you can see where the trouble has come from!
i just don't have the biological drive for it, is really what it boils down to. and since i don't have the drive, it's easy to come up with lots of reasons why not to. whereas for people who DO have the drive, it's easy to come up with reasons why it's great.
A relative had her twin toddlers get in the frig and break a dozen eggs all over the kitchen (threw them at each other) and she melted down and called for help cleaning up. She kept insisting they weren't hers
But hurshy, biological drive is one thing. Having the commitment to stick with a child, to nurture and protect etc, surely that's more than biology?
My older sister and her hubby refused to have kids: they didn't want "rug rats" and "curtain climbers" in the way of their lives. I'm glad they never did have kids
i don't know, haz. one would imagine so. it could be a case of... the biological drive is necessary but not sufficient.
I'm glad as well, Nef, children don't deserve those names.
unless you just accidentally get pregnant, of course, and then you may or may not end up being a good parent.
To be honest, you're to be commended for thinking the issues through. Too many people want a baby, but don't think beyond the first few months.
and to paraphrase forrest gump, kids are like a box of chocolates. you never know what you're gonna get.
Or they have kids so that they have someone who loves them! Worst reason in the world to have them!
wesley is great, and always has been. hannah, i'm sure will also be great, but right now, she is LOUD. wesley never really CRIED much - he would just babble away. when i'm chatting with wesley and hear hannah screaming in the background, i just think i don't know how i could live with that on a regular basis!
that's the truth, hurshy!
It's funny, neighbours had two children, very contented, happy, easily entertained youngsters. Then along came the third. He roared and bellowed and generally created havoc from the minute he came into the house.
He seems to be quieter now. Either that or they've got tape permanently over his mouth to keep the noise down. He'd be about 3 so maybe he's learned a bit of sense.
my senses are also more sensitive than normal - esp sound.
just saying hello to all .... keep on with your own chat.
my dtr. tested me her first 2 years of life. Then again her first teen years (12-14)

Hello jmb - do join in!

SOORRYYYYYYYYYY
It's okay!
One of the joys of my life is to go to a baby that is sobbing and have him/her put their little arms out to be picked up and then just hang on to you
my dad has remarked how ironic it is that one spends the first couple years of a child's life teaching him to walk and talk and the rest of his childhood telling him to sit down and be quiet.
Do you have the magic touch to stop them crying, BR?
BR, that is so true!
most times
Good for you! Sometimes, children just want a bit of comfort and TLC.
There are some people that are like that. I've seen it in my workplace; a crying child that won't settle, but one of our staff will get that crying child calm right away
It still holds true even when they're grown as well. Daughter no 2 (nearly 23) sometimes settles herself in my lap. She's got a bit heavier than she used to be!
She always was one to seek more hugs. I used to joke that I wore her for a few months when she was going through a clingy period;
One of my sisters passed several years ago ... a small baby 5 pds something .... changed her diapers helped her walk ... and now she is gone
Haz, does she give that support to others too; or is she just extremely needy?
it's hard to lose someone that you've helped grow, isn't BR?
No, she's not needy at all. This was when she was just a baby, she liked to be carried around with me. She's now grown up, independent and pretty well adjusted.
I cant believe the le6
le4 + not off
That's good, Haz. I was wondering because I mis-interrpreted what you wrote (just went back and read it again) Sorry. :-)
Ooh, just come on to the chog full of baby talk - and I have been away visiting 2-year old grandson! 5 days without Babble :-(
It's okay, Nef, it's best to clarify.
But with the grandson, Sally! How fun!
Hello, Sally. So did the delights of grandson outweigh the horrors of babble deprivation?
You bet! He is of course gorgeous and very bright. Not that I am biassed, you understand.
I've never known a biassed grandmother.
Good morning I need a clue for ve5/18, please?
Lol, Haz
Every grandmother is completely objective.
All the joy and no nappies :-)
play on the telly - a ve***
ve5/18 - an African plain. first letters of a type of material (3), last two are initials of alcoholic 'shakes'.
isn't that the vi5?
ooops - wrong clue, sorry
He's potty trained already? He's a paragon, Sally.
No - his parents do the nappies!
That's good of them.
Is he talking much?
A few words, Haz. "I don't know" being a favourite. So - how has Babble been? Have I missed easy grids? Any scandal?
No scandal that I can think of. Nothing exciting in the grids either. You picked a good time to be away.
Seems nice grid today.
Get nbt and you're almost done ..
Hello, torgone.
Heyas kids ..
Hi torgone
I just cannot find that ve5 and more help would be welcome?
African grassland ..
Thanks got it finally
Well done.
I should take <------- out while it's reasonably dry, shouldn't I? That's what the caring dog owner would do.
Are you worried that the nameless one can read over your shoulder, Haz?
Not quite.
I just need a mental push to get me out of the chair.
You'll feel fresher after a walk
I'll get my caring dog owner coat on and sally forth. Enjoy the grid!
Bye!
good mourning everyone
Bye for now Haz.

Hi beach
hey beach
anybody have a clue for the 8?
The first word I got, ruby! But it's the kind of verb I struggle with in Latin. Thinking of a clue for you.
that's too funny
It's de 8/50
Johnny De** minus last letter, plus opp of off, * abbreviation for Ear Nose and Throat
I didn't get it yet, but I got the de6 while browsing.....
thank you, what a crazy word!!
I even wrote a verse about it once ...
do you remember the verse?
Just a mo.
OK, it's part of a whole thing I wrote for my Latin group, and this verse goes: Mary is the clever one / Sitting quietly in her chair / She understands de8/50 verbs / Which cause us all despair.
I love that! Do you also write limericks?
Yes, but most of them not repeatable!
hahah
when I come back, after dinner, you can send me some, I could use some smiles today! winter blues
Husband and I once kept each other awake most of the night making up limericks to each other :-)
Must be off to check hens. Back in 10 mins
that's very nice, I wish husband and I could communicate that way!
hi everyone hi sally salut ruby

Oh, sad. We laugh a lot.

thx Vi!
My pleasure.
wasn't it a vicuna coat that gave Eisenhower trouble when he was president?
Clearly this is a story I have not heard.
showing my age - this was in the 50's
In 1958 vicuña was on everybody’s lips. President Eisenhower’s favorite golfing buddy and Chief of Staff Sherman Adams got the boot after reporters learned that he had accepted various sumptuous finery, most famously a vicuña coat, from a certain Boston textile magnate named Bernie Goldfine in exchange for some extra lenient treatment by federal regulators. The scandal even engulfed future columnist Jack Anderson, who was caught bugging Goldfine’s hotel room.
THe wonders of Google.
LOL - my memory ain't too far afield, then
Nope. Gold star for yo! =)

Pah .. Work can go suck an egg ..
oh, i wish. sadly, we are becoming rather swamped and shorthanded...
Bad combination ..
It helps to have long hands in the swamp ..
good afternoon everyone;0
crossy peers off in the distance and see nothing but tumbleweeds...
hi crossy...sounds like a peaceful view
ahh there is life;)) howdy mp
hi all
i'm sitting in a hotel rom in vermont waiting for my husband to finish skiing and having lunch together!
hi jmc!
i am glad you have babble if you can't ski MP
so glad it's a small grid today...i love babbling but i need to be able to do other things as well...I should be napping due to my staying up for last nites grid
gd evening everybody
i just didn't finish last night
how is the snow in Vermont?
hello people!
i have the hiccups and it is distracting
hi ruby and good
my husband woke up and said "Marilyn it's 3 am get to bed!" I was so unaware of the time!
hi jmc --- BOOO!
oh dear!
thanks it apparently worked!
hahah
Ruby the snow is great...he skiied Okemo yesterday and Killington today but said he may go back to Okemo tomorrow...he's a great skier
Hi again all.
the hiccups are in fact gone! lol
hi hego
jmc, maybe I scared you.
lol hego
jmc a "spoon full of sugar" (tune marching thru head...) actually stops hiccups...it breaks up the spasms we call hiccups!
we live in the foothills of the French alps and when all the snowbirds came, between Christmas and New Years', it rained all the time and as soon as they all left, there's been great snow. Unfortunately, we don't ski any more
hego I love your icon
hi hego
ty Mp
Needed something to chase the winter blahs.
me, too, hego
My skiing days ended by a nasty skiing accident...broke my tibial plateau..thank goodness to a great ortho doc I walk without any assistance...only seldom bothered by uneven terrain...
the longer daylight is helping, Ruby.
I quit when two of the snowbirds, both middle-aged men and good skiiers, had life-threatening accidents within one month.
I agree hego...the short days and dark light is what gets to me...
for me, too, hego. In December here, it was dark by 5 and still dark at 8AM. Awful
The good news is that in June, it is light until 11
nice
my winter blahs are more connected to the lack of $$$$
I try to take an afternoon nap with a light in my face, it helps a little
jmc, that's too terrible to talk about!
lol jmc
nap *sigh*
i strongly feel that an afternoon nap helps with everything!
what the heck is vi5, anyway? uh pls.
I try to sleep for an hour after lunch, but it is hard to get my husband to not make noise!
Boys!
VHS...Vi*** tape
ty eeyore!

my husband witnessed one of our friends (a ski trip leader & top notch skier) slide down a steep slope and miss cracking his head on a large tree by less than 4 inches...he went to the bottom of the slope and puchased the best helmet and has worn it since...makes sense we wear them on our Harley D oh and we are old far*s too...He's 67 I'm 61!
ty
studies show that naps are good to help lose weight and to focus
the wisdom of siesta
crossy pokes his head around the corner carefully...
excellent news jmc - what do you know about chocolate??
helmets definitely have their value -- a friend of mine was in a coma for 6 months from a bicycle accident
interesting about the weight
LOOKOUT it's Crossy!
hi crossy, don't make any noise, we're trying to sleep
what jmc...naps good for losing #'s???...getting in bed now...pulling up covers.....zzzzzzzzzz
chocolate can improve your mental state as it creates some of the same chemical reactions as being in love
yes apparently people who get lots of sleep have an easier time losing weight -- not just naps
I wish I liked chocolate.... the only way I like it is in chicken mole
lol jmc, after being married almost 20 years, the only think i know 100% about women is that it has something to do with chocolate;0
so if i could get chocolate in bed with babble life would be perfect!
i keep wondering if it is because you don't eat when you are asleep
we need maids that bring us cocoa in bed
hahah
lol
maids? cabana boys!
Excellent point jmc
does anybody have the 7-letter?
*pulls covers up tightly around neck* no cabana boys in my bedroom please
I'll bring you cocoa!
ty ruby!
ne7 Ruby
i think it begins with ne and means start or beginning
ne + 4th vowel + what you do with your keyboard
the chocolate has to be dark and at least 70% cocoa per Dr Oz, Dr. Roizen...my guru's on chocolate *smile*
sounds good to me i do not like milk chocolate
too sweet!
thank you, I'm getting chocolate for everybody
TY! Got a whole bunch of words of that 1 clue! :-)
good clue hego
run ruby run!
yw all
crossy stands back as the women stampede for chocolate...
a guy could get ruined in the rush..;(
thanks ruby!
I'll get bacon for crossy...chocolate overed bacon *grin*

lol
May I please have a clue for the left hand E?
no..no bacon for crossy, poor cross y has the stomach flu last 2 days;((((
I get my chocolate at Ikea...no sugar..well not much anyway!

Yes you will Ruby!
oh so sorry crossy...hope you recover quickly...hand crossy soft homemade egg custard
I have to go, both of the dogs are going crazy barking and I don't know why....
yes..dry crackers,gingerale,lap a little warm milk;((
I love egg custard! actually any custard or pudding
ruby never say no...you will and hey what does finishing have to do with anything...babble is so much more than that!
it's true and the chat in here is terrific. I learn stuff every day.
indeed mp,i used to obsess about finishing for the first 6 months or so,then learned better
Me too
oh, good, they stopped barking -- either the burglar got in or changed his mind when he heard them lol
ROFL ruby!
hello, help with de6/30 pls

*hands crossy a cup of ginger tea*
hi nrk

ginger tea is very good for a wonky tummy

(ty nrkii)
also crystalized ginger
too much sugar for me but ooooo yum
yes any ginger...except ginger rodgers *<;o)
sailors used to take that with them for crossing the ocean
i thought that was limes
or snaps!
limes were for scurvey
i bet ginger rogers was good for soothing your tummy
that, too, but ginger keeps longer
laughing jmc

i found that annoying too crossy
it doesn't accept pyro either :-(

You could have heard my shriek from the main road, stidkid was closer, and came running. he won't do that any time soon.

pipp & stid..well i'll be...so an old dog can learn new tricks...can't wait to use it with husband...I keep him guessing...*giggles*
no one has the list and can tell me the first 2 letters of the 7 word please?
sorry red. not yet
ne
ne 7 bugs
I have only 15 left, I want to try to do without list, but I suppose asking for that help is sort of negating that.
I don't have a list, but I got that one
red, it's ne 7/40
crap. went to a yoga class and my shoulder is killing me
hideee ho
thanks!
3 left. totally stuck. argh
hey kje
1st word... was ne7/40 - thanks
ahhh found it thanks people!
anyone have a definition?
hi all
ah trif, I love that pic - LOL
Hi, Dorens!
new script?
i went to a yoga class this evening too, owl... then down in the basement for 20 minutes of weights... that was a mistake!
and kje!
thta was for TO, btw
hello doren!
I actually went "running" today. now I feel much happier than I have for months.
found it! thanks
hey jellen, how goes it?
Dorens, does you foot ever bother you any more?
ty kje!
that's good red
yw
well, like tonight when I had to balance on that very foot for what seemed like an eternity? yeah, bothered me a bit, but mostly i feel normal
i hsould have waited and gone to hot vinyasa flow but nooooooooooooooo strange hybrid class with crappy instructor
heck i can't balance on good feet
i hate to sweat... sad but true... and couldn't even dream of hot yoga
well, at least you did something, TO... I am a babble-potato tonight
hi all
glad to hear it Dorens. oddly, my main thought when going out to run was that I wanted to sweat...
I can't breathe when I'm that hot...
hi jmc!
on a cold night like this it would be heavenly. but i actually walked from the hotel to youga in flip flops!
Hi, jmc!
vive le difference
i am skipping the gym tomorrow

i was learning the effects of religious group in national and regional conflicts
these last 8 are not doing me right.

hmm, dorens?
ty kje
the effects of religious group in national and regional conflicts? considerable, yes?
jmc, are you participating in the 2010 season for Non-violence. I love some of the days...
no i am trying to take some courses on conflict resolution
it is pretty interesting stuff actually dorens
No no, I just wondered if you were participating...in general.
jellen, could you yell at my last 3 please? I can't find them for the life of me
i think it is about 32 here
Grrr...you three!
gee i do not have ONE n word yet with only 22 left
It sort of worked, now I only have 7 words that aren't treating me right...
yes, I would think so. just in our country alone, the last ten-20 years, it certainly seems to have grown... and forget about the middle east, india, pakistan, etc
oh owl you'll find them, they're not hard (at least the four that I have)
I am missing one r, one d and one o. come out come out whereever you are!
you got that right. we have lost the tolerance on which we were founded imho
Owl at least one of the n words reads left to right accross the grid. A total fish.
first column n is blank
not a group i work with at this time
good clue bugs.
I like the daily things very much. Wish they would use them in many schools, as we could all use a little less violence.
it is not from the frist column n
we were not particularly founded on tolerance -- they hanged Quakers in Massachusetts
don't ballerinas sometimes rep**** their toes?
hi folks - back for the last 31
I was a shamed at how long it took me to see it red. I was glad someone else makes things harder than they have to be sometimes to. LOL
hi krise
just for the no***, owl, and the ni5/10 is a regular babblet
Can anyone clue the po 27? It's my last word and I'm beating my head against a wall. ;)
Massachusetts was especially harsh on "heretics" jmc
THANK YOU dorens! I swear, I did that to my chimney one time, too - but here it is disallowed
is your head po**** or round, sally?
exactly... i did it to my chimney this past summer
ty
well, not me exactly, but i did pay someone to do it
what are we doing to chimneys?
someone went (reluctantly) to the pb over po5 a couple of hours ago
I love your clue Dorens!

jmc, I once had a teacher who used to say, "Bless your po***** little head" when we were especially thick. It has to do with shape.

I know for sure it was from a post on Boing Boing ..
you win the prize for best memory, torgone!
For me anyway ..
I have no idea what Boing Boing is; doubt if I would have known back then either

thanks lbd
hm does anyone know how legal it is to automatically bounce one specific unwanted email sender address? junk+spam is not enough
thanks lbd and jmc... got it
re 5/12 2nd one plz
Sorry Farruska... those are the only weapons in my arsenal...
you mean block it? you can do that
re + not con
i block my B-I-L
no, not blocking, bouncing
ty Ibd
sorry don't know the difference
bouncing means each time the one sends an email will receive a "undeliverable" error message , it can be done on the server side but also on the client side
what is bouncing, Farru?
hmm, how do you do that, farru? i don't know why it wouldn't be legal.
on mail.app (mac) there is an option for it ; there are also scripts that can be used. hm have to catch the "lawyer" here again :-)
i just read about bouncing on a chat -- there is no legal reason not to
there are very few laws that apply to the internet
rick in the US or worldwide ? germany is quite strict on e-law
in US and there is not a system to govern it internationally
i understand china is strict as well
yes, there is no common international regulation but each country has its own
Farru, why would it be illegal to bounce someone who you don't want to have bothering you? It isn't like you're giving out that person's private info, is it?
Nef because by using the feature Bounce you yourself are creating a fake email returned to the sender which in some countries is considered spamming, hence illegal
ok, thanks, I'll try to catch someone from Germany :-)
i can check with my german friends and let you know tomorrow
danke rick ! that would be great :-)
just read the archives tomorrow and i will write if i find the answer
ok, thanks
ve 5/18 plz
sorry :-(
A ve 5/18 is ve 4/8 plus a cross letter sixty7stang13.

Oh dear, herin! What happened?

okay kids, heading off to do other things. see you all tomorrow! good luck with the grid.
recycling at its best i guess
Ok so before alarm o 'clock Lucius decided that climbing on B was a great idea. COuldn't wake him so he climbed over him to me and head butted my hand. When that didn't work he pawed me then sat down between us thwaping his tail in B's face, decided that wasn't comfy climbed onto B's back then back to me then back onto B's feet

Hi, all! On a brief break...
Hi Jellen
hi jell
my dtr's ex BF once threw her cat against the wall for something like that (I don't know if they were asleep or what at the time) However, HE was suddenly OUT of her life for that (I think she reported him to Animal protection or something)
Hi Jellen
I think I would have kicked him in the nuts. Nay I would have
afriend of mine had a cat that liked to be thrown against the wall -- it would hit feet first, slide down and then trot over to do it again
Our cat Edgar pulls similar stunts, while meowing and ringing the bell on his mousie...
lol,our first kitty liked to climb up one of those wall display rugs hehe
see there is a difference between rough and not
Is it too late to send Christmas cards?

When you travel for work, you get a pe* ***m
G'night, Nef
thanks, jellen
a friend and i once blew her entire p6m on a fabulous brunch with free-flowing $3 liter-sized mimosas
well, brunch and a pair of ice cream sundaes
yum, ice cream!
Bev's in the Carytown neighborhood of Richmond VA is the place to go for ice cream in that city, hands down!
neat icon, jes!
if i'm ever there, i'll probably have forgotten by then, but i'll try to remember
and we learned that a late dinner at Bank gets you free admission to a eurotrash club :)
we were underdressed, but had a blast snarking
it's so far the only city i've been to that is livelier at night than in the day
sounds fun
well, only cite in NA i've been to that that's true of.
er, city
hi everyone... I never have been able to stay up till one for the flip....am fading fast now as it is...
hiya, oodle
hi oodle
eventually you'll retire and you manage it :)
????
well, i keep weird hours when unemployed. all my retired relatives don't sleep til 3, so that's my frame of reference. :)
well I made it a habit to be in bed by 11 but for the past two nights I have been unable to fall asleep
insomnia is no fun
firewords :)
yay dc!
down to 5
last re5/12?
not really think maybe the nap I take... but I only drink caffeine in the morning so don't think that is the reason
This is the first time I've ever played ... I don't know how you guys do it
I still have soo many words left
we're all crazy, sunshine
look at the bottom at lickety's clues funky that will help some
crazy smart :)
and the clues from other people don't hurt :)
okay, thanks oodle
it gives you the first two letters, then how many letters in the word then how much the word is worth
yw
that is for each word that is in the grid
thanks
and yea, we all a bit wack here
you can ask people in chat to give you clues to words that go further thank lickety's clues
ne7, for instance?
new kind, jes
thankee
ne is the first two letters an it is 7 letters long
I see ...
so the clue given was ... new = one part of the word and kind = second part of the word
po6,21, please?
opo6 - adversary
you run against an oppo**** jes
thankee
i didn't know that was a word on its own.
me neither
last one, is the last re5,12
re+ not amateur
found it :)
program again
???
g'night, thanks for the clues!
night jes
ok I am going to have to say good night

thanks for your help!
G'night, jes and oodle

hello all
Hi, jilli!
I was beginning to wonder if there was anyone here
hi jellen
the next icon theme is Circles in Nature, suggested by atalante, if anyone wants to know
I'm in and out, jilli...
If anyone wants clues, I can supply them
hello everyone
hi west :)
I just checked the icon theme and have my new one now
hi jilli
Hi, west and good

Hi, BabbleRabble
howdy, folks
hi jellen how are you?
hi babrab
can't believe im here again trying to finish before the flip
I'm struggling in a poker tourney at the moment...
Good Enough what shall we call you?
good luck, jellen!
But otherwise fine...Tim, however has a flu-like bug...
never count your money while you're sitting at the table jellen
I'm sorry for Tim hope he feels better soon and you don't get it
poor Tim!
I've had 7-2 off-suit twice in a row, if that means anything to you...
no, it doesn't, lol!
no but it sounds promising
mmmmm, no ones asked before
you could be goody or GE or Good Enough
I tried GE because it's short -- is that ok?
It's the worst possible starting hand in Texas Hold'em poker
but I have to tell you I have a recipe with your name in it
then that isn't good jellen I'll wish you 4 kings if that will help
anythings fine, im flexible - whatever is easy for you
Royal Flush for jellen, unless Texas has changed the rules
my recipe is Scampi con Fungi ala Goodenough
I did have 4 kings earlier, and it helped a lot!
there you go then lol
A royal flush would be beautiful, jilli!
I'll speak to Her Majesty
let's all wish jellen a royal flush then
jilli I just saw your icon..brilliant !
Thanks, west!
royal flush ... kingly enema? or a biffy maneuver
too funny lol
Yes ;)
that's a wonderful poem bab reminds me of animals
