hi ruru :)
hello
everyone seems to have vanished suddenly
60 to go and I'm off to bed
good night all
well done, flosey, and goodnight.
ty jilli, maybe I can finish before pool exercise class - last for 3 weeks!
Has it helped, flosey?
Guess she's gone
I'm back
good morning everybody. Holiday here, whatever that means when you're retired!
it looks like a fun grid.....
did I chase everybody away?
Hi ruby -- I was 1) buried in the grid and 2) checking email :)
hello jilli! nice to see you
You know how it goes -- looks like fun until slam, there's the wall.
which I've already hit at 82! lol
but I don't mind; the sun is shining, the roses opened yesterday
May I please have a clue for he6-27? Thanks.
he6: annoy, pester
or, when he**** was a pup
and plural
Sorry, I have been at this far too long tonight....forgot to say hello.
hello peach
whoops, wrong he, but my only one, sorry
Hi there rubyfoo.....hope all is well with you?
I'm a little coffee-jangly!
Yes, I know what you mean.
but making that mistake got me a whole bunch of other words: c's, h's
Great going there, girl.
96 words and will be happy if I reach half!
I've been on for two and a half hours and have only l59.
sounds great to me!
Has it been a nice weekend there?
it's the first good weather we've had, after two weeks of visitors and constant rain!
everybody is gone, just us and the sunshine
how about you. Is it hot yet?
That makes it nicer, eh?
are you still having that awful drought or did it sort itself out over the winter?
Oh, yes, it is hot and HUMID. I just killed the first Palmetto bug this year! I really despise them. Just cockroaches on steroids. UGH!
we had them in Miami; I used to drop a phone book on them from shoulder height and then the phone book would alk away!
We did get some rain last week....but not nearly enough.....had severe thunder storm warnings on TV. We were lucky it passed by.
are there still water restrictions?
HAHAHA! OMG, that's a good one. I have a dust mop that works pretty well....if I can get them covered....they won't be here any more (of course, their entire family will envade the house) hope I don't give myself nightmares....HaHa.
I was the only one who wasn't afraid to at least try to kill them. The other women would climb on their chairs and scream!
Yes, we are told to water every other day. I don't have much yard space....enough for flowers and a great little covered patio.
my sister, in NY, is afraid of even small roaches. Of course, I don't like them, but not afraid.
not covered in kudzu, I hope, or the house might disappear!
I've seen some very artful displays that mother nature does with that stuff....but no, we aren't bothered with that. There's a service that comes and keeps the yards and bushes trimmed....community association does that.
do you have roses on your terrace?
patio, I meant
hi peach -- I've just come back from doing this and that.
I'm envious of your weather -- everything in the garden has slowed down, it's been so chilly and damp.
the veg garden has taken a reall beating; most of the stuff didn't even germinate - too cold and rainy
Not yet, ruby....I moved here last December and am just starting to get some potted flowers on the patio but there is room for some roses.....I can't do a great deal caring for plants and flowers now.
this is my first garden (and I'm old!) and it is a great delight!
Hi there, jilli......I trust you are well tonight?
But at least the flowers in my icon are blooming as are several others like columbine and azaleas and rhodos -- but no roses or peonies yet. Of course, it's not June yet either, lol!
everything is at least a month late this year. Last year I had figs in June!
Good for you, ruby. I turned 72 on the 12th of this month.....can't even begin to do the things that I want to do.....just do as much as I can and then rest.
I'm fine, thanks, ruby, but about to head for bed ;)
sweet dreams, jilli! dream of flowers and upppies!
I feel the same way, do what I can and then lie down for an hour or two
that was uppies, no uppies
puppies!
Well, I'm lucky to have a good youngish lady gardener/designer originally from England.
aaah!
I had better get dressed; husband will be annoyed when he gets back from the store!
I'm glad you have a veg garden.....I thought about a large clay pot and some tomato plants in it...I think about a lot of things....HA HA.
belated happy birthday, peach!
I only had good tomatoes one year out of 11! It's not worth the effort! Maybe cherry tomatoes in a pot?
and to you jilli!
Nice to talk with you and jilli tonight. I'm going to go to bed too, jilli.
No veg garden here -- deer would eat everything. I don't have enough of an area fenced off.
bye, ladies.
uh oh, husband is back and I'm in my bathrobe!
Night peach :)
Bye, ruby...have a great day.
and bye ruby -- grin and bear it!
Night, jilli, sweet dreams.
no deer here, the French have eaten them all (and the suirrels and rabbits, too)! lol
Well, I'm off -- fare thee well! *poof*
morning all
Morning sprite, looks like we just missed everyone.
indeed, was just thinking the same thing. But you are here :)
semi here, am battling with sudoku at the mo.
ah I see, also a great game
how is your day starting out? Sun shining?
half overcast, actually, but looking like things might clear up still.
and with you?
Allegedly it cou be in the mid 80s today!
wow!
IT warm already and I really don't feel like working.
and it seems that I can't type this morning either :)
I can imagine. Do you need to? In the Netherlands this is a holiay. Second Pentecost Day.
well enough that I understand you, grinnn
holiday* (is it contagious?)
yup goot earn a buck or two and have a mounting pile of paperwork to deal with. lol you are catching my typoitus.
it is amazing, the things that can travel through cyberspace ;)
and there goes the phone. Back in a bit, sorry to abandon you spritey sprite.
np dear, real life comes first!
Back again.
wb FM
helllooooo
hiya Ata :)
How is the grid shaping up so far?
Good morning Ata!
your god of love is here
nothing special for the first half
and you are, Ata.
oh yes :)
Hadn't seen that Ata, as not yet babbling. It will be 2 years ths Wed since he went into hospital.
:(:( 2 years already!
I know, how time flies.
should I ask? Or rather not?
ask away spritey
who, except a babble word, was your god of love?
my partner of 10 years who died 2 years last July. He was a good man.
*2 years ago in July that should have read.
darn FM, that is an awful loss. A very special name he had too!
Hello everyone
hi lyn
He was a great gardener (as a hobby) and I am remembering much of what he did with my garden now.
Greetings lynxxx
hi lyn!
what a great way of remembering him. Celebrating life while doing it.
hi everyone

hi Andree
HAve to ban myself from buying anymore plants now as have more than enough :)
I feel awful teasing you about Er**. I am sorry FM I hadn't realised. No wonder the garden is special to you
oops, how do i do that everytime i come on
D went and bought about 30 herb plants to plant out yesterday. I'm taking bets as to how long he'll keep them alive ...
Hello Ata. and Andree!
Awe lynxx don't worry Haz started the tease and it has always made me smile.
they will need their space too, FM :) Our potatoes are growing so fast we can almost watch and see it. And some of the seeds I sowed are sprouting already.
will depend on how faithfully he will water them, I think?
never enough plants fmitch, i dream of the day i have my own garden again, as i rent i just have a veg patch and lots of pots
wtg spritey :)
30 Herb plants! I didn't realise he was such a cook Ata
he's on another health kick
I'm sure he doesn't actually know what any of them do
Andree I only have a tiny garden and am doing al lot of container planting as I still don't know where the sun hits the plot as I have only been here since end of last year.
oh dear. I feel the Phantom Phleas coming back...
sprite its so great to hear you are feeling well enough for a veg garden
LOL Ata
everything is in pots here, as far as the veggies go. We do have our own garden but I am not yet up to larger projects.
oh yes, Andree! It is wonderful. We tried last year, but it didn't work out. Now all is better.
sensible sprite esp as the temps go up there is much watering to be done.
your garden is going to be so lovely, FM
I will email some pics once I have finished.
it's already lovely!
oh please do! Loved seeing your early ones as well.
Next thing you know, she'll be exhibiting at the Chelsea Flower Show.
Good morning/evening all.
that is true, you have seen it, Ata! How I wish we didn't have a Channel between us, I'd come and watch for sure.
morning Haz
goodmorning Haz
Got the bargain of the year yesterday 5 hosta plant for £20 at the local garden centre each one would have cost me at leat £10 and they are all ready to start flowering.
Morning Haz, good to see you.
Hello! I'm only here temporarily but couldn't resist greeting you all.
encouragement from the heavens, FM! Or at least from the garden center.
sheesh, missed commas and the word 'each' out of that last post.
don't know if you have snails FM but they love hostas too
hi haz
those darn snails seem to love everything young and green. Anyone good remedies to keep them away?
I know lynxxx, am keeping fingers croosed as I haven't seen a slug or snail in the garden yet.
Hello, Andree.
Aren't crushed egg shells supposed to be good?
lucky FM, those birds are doing a good job
Did Mr Haz get the ceiling painted for you Haz?
I know used coffee grounds don't work
No, Mr Haz did not paint the ceiling. Mr Haz took himself off to do gardening for his sister. I did the ceiling myself....
oh true, they don't like sharp edges, do they?
Ah OK! but well done you.
in my veg patch the possums don't leave enough for the snails, its very discouraging
Mr Haz!!
I know!
aw Andree :(
did Spangle get dripped on?
I go out about 9pm and pick up snails and put them in the garbage bin. Take out a salt container to sprinkle on slugs - I hate slugs they are too disgusting
well at least now it is done really well, Haz. With a woman's touch.
the best way to get snails is to go out after dark with a torch
somebody told me they love beer. And die from it.
I am very impressed Haz
But in his defence, although why I should be defending him, I don't know, it was REALLY warm on Saturday evening and he would probably have killed himself trying to do it (he turns incredibly red and sweaty). So I turned red and sweaty instead.
they are scared of a torch?
LOL oh Haz!!
Honestly, at one point I caught sight of myself in a mirror and I looked even hotter than I felt.
you poor dear! but I am chuckling away at the image (sorry) :)
However, it is done (and he hasn't dared go into the room to point out any minuscule areas that I missed) and it's ready for the papering to start.
lol sprite, thats how as lynxxx just posted you can pick them up easily
*grins* I couldn't resist, Andree, sorry.
what room are you doing now Haz?
It's my younger daughter's bedroom, lynxxx.
George said he thought you looked hot, Haz, but I didn't understand what he meant until now.
It was intended to change it from being her bedroom into a spare bedroom, but now she has decided to come home for a while.
LOL sprite
Honestly, sprite, I looked hot, but DEEPLY unattractive. I'd have scared horses in the street if there had been any around.
he loved you just the same, Haz
oh Haz! I have a giggle from Liz
Has Toyah shown up on Sark or something?
Toyah is going to be playing in Guernsey!
Gosh, there's a reason for getting in a boat.
oh how funny.
Heading to Jersey.
do you like it, Haz, having your daughter back home?
Heading FAR away from Guernsey! It's soon as well. At a big festival
She's not back yet, Sprite. She'll be home probably middle of July. It's going to be strange having her back after effectively five years away although she's been home for holidays etc. But her job in Edinburgh just hasn't worked out very well and I think she needs time to regroup.
who is Toyah?
How do you explain Toyah?
you're a good mum, Haz.
well ...
http://www.toyahwillcox.com/overview.h tml
Toyah Wilcox, started off as pop singer, turned actress, lisps, wears extraordinary clothes and strange hair, takes herself pretty seriously.
Toya was a pop star back a while in the late 70s if I remember correctly.
she now Gardens I think
Ah, Haz has done a much better bio than me.
Ata, tell them about her wanting her name removed from Liz's blog. That was hilarious.
a less talented Madonna?
I can't remember all the details! But Liz had a big run-in with Toyah's PA over Liz mentioning Toyah's name in her blog
She's not in the same league as Madonna, just thinks she's important.
Toyah is to Madonna as MKG is to Haz
ROFL
lolllllllllllll ouch ouch ouch
She was supposed to come to Sark to do something, didn't show, Liz mentioned it in her blog, the PA objected to negative publicity. She's been a laughing stock in babble since.
Not exactly aging gracefully, read her blog and she is on about her hip replacement.
that is pathetic
And I thought my en9 clue was so good, it flew right over her head.
what a hoot
and now SHe's Back in the CHannel Islands. Liz and I are very amused
I wonder. Will drG get a demand this chog is removed?
Did she not do I'm a Celebrity a while back. Or as I heard it called the other day 'I'm a Celebrity, give me some panto work'
what is panto work, Haz?
snerk
Pantomime - staged every Christmas in theatres all around Britain. Mostly peopled with ex-TV people along with fading stars.
oh I never knew. Thanks.
They're tremendous fun, but you'd have to say that if someone is appearing in panto then they're possibly on the wrong side of the climb to fame.
Eastenders stars
they do shows like Cinderella and such fairy tales
Cue enraged letters of complaints from PAs to stars....
Targeted at children Sprite
Oh now come on, the tradition of panto goes back such a long time.
I used to take my kids to pantos every year when they were little
hey sandy :)
It does indeed, and it's only lately that there's been the trend to have exTV people doing a turn, mainly to attract people in to see the show.
we don't have something like that, sounds like fun.
It has just been bastardised over the last 20/ years.
hi everyone, just here for a mo , before feed up
Hi sandy
I dearly remember going to panto's when I was a kid - clear as a bell after 50 years
hi mitch
hi Sandy
those horses can wait. We are more important. We don't play in pantomime.
It is fun, sprite, they take nursery rhymes/fairy stories and add songs, comedy routines etc, make women dress as men, men dress as women and two people to become horses or cows.
You know you're washed up as a star when all you get is the back end of a pantomime cow
oh I am pretty certain I could be a cow.
lol especially the back end indeed
you would have to choose to be the front or the back sprite :)
I think the back end. Would bring out my best endowed feature ;)
LOL
and Torah could be my front. If she doesn't behave, I am in the perfect position to correct her. And take sweet revenge over Liz's blog.
eek just realised it is almost 10am - I have to go :( Happy babbling all and see you later today.
bye FM
hmmm and cows are very useful animals, providing milk and manure from their rear halfs
bye dear FM, good luck with the work and try and steal some lazy hours for yourself too!
bye fm
Bye FM - have a good day. I'll need to follow your example too.
darn sandy, I could only do half of that.
bye Haz, have a lovely day
I'll try!
bye Haz
and steaks for the barbie when their time comes, useful animals indeed
But first a word for sandy from Ogden Nash. 'The cow is of the bovine ilk, one end is moo, the other mik'
clever and cute
awww cute
Ogden Nash was brilliant, sums things up so well. Toodle-oo!
*stays away from Andree while wearing the cow suit*
lol , sprite
bye haz
too many a's in this grid
bbl
gd morning again, was on for a while before and almost got to 1/2 of this friendly grid!
aecia
aecias
hi rubyfoo
thanks Andree
right thats it i am off, sorry folks
no need to go off, Andree, I am very grateful!
thanks from me too! don't go though
sure makes up for acacia not being there.
i was getting really frustrated over all the a's
I do like Andree's clues!
almost 10%
yeah - agoria isn't accepted either - and I've tried about 20 times
ty for the a, adnree
and then there at* in the grid, for a change!!
(maybe I mean angora??)
agora
whoops
agora maybe, something like Square, open space in a city?
snap rubyfoo
didn't work!
haven't a clue, but it sounded like a good word
:( pb for me
or rabbits. Angora... or sheep? Lamas?
it's def a word!
ag6.24 is
I like agoria.
especially for shopping!
allegoria
for singing!
can you believe this: I open this site and on top it says: win a green card for the US. Answer this question: who is the president of the US? Then 3 pics: Obama, Bush and Hillary Clinton.
ata: there are about 20 fish, all traumatized by the heron, but as long as they're not all girls, the pond should re-generate. My husband is a new man!
it's definitely Hillary!!!!
yay fishies!
good fish!
all of this year's babies are gone (but who cares?) but Spot and Harry and Jimmy are still there (all big ones) and "short fin"
I have never seen anybody as miserable as my husband was this past week.
I've left the bronze heron on the pond for now, hoping to protect the remaining fish
I think he has used up his sympathy quotient!!!!
better make sure he knows you are more important th4 any fish.
and suggestions?
take a bath in the pool?
eeeeew!
:D
the water is deep green and cloudy!
do make it a bubble bath!
cavort naked in the pond
you got it, Andree!
he bought a huge filter + UV filtering system which doesn't work and nobody here knows how to fix it!
algae loves sunshine
pond, that was the word. Not pool. Sorry.
that would surely keep the heron (and everybody else) away! eeeew
no pool, here, again, me in a bathing suit? eeeeew!
I think the cloudiness of the water protects the fish and I think they eat the alga
If you can get duckweed to grow (ie the fish don't eat it all) it will keep the sunshine from the algae
we had duckweed and husband removed it!
he grows waterlilies and pond irises plus reeds
finally. Thanks for the ag6, lyn
oh no! it is the BEST food for the fish
the reeds have tiny cattails! for a while, loosestrife (escaped from the garden) was grwing in the pond, but disappeared (also from the garden)
I buy it for my fish but they eat it all in 24 hours
tell him it is to fish like spinach is to Popeye. They will beat that heron once they can eat duckweed again.
he is the expert!!!! raofl!
I am definitely a bad wife!!!
We have an amazing place down here that he would love Ruby. They specialize in Lotuses ( looks stunning when all in flower - acres of them) also hundred oof waterlillies.....and fish
oh lyn that sounds so beautiful
I think it is too cold here for lotuses, but that sounds like husband=heaven!
if I send him, would you keep him Lynx? He's very good about grocery-shopping and taking out the trash!
I couldn't believe it - I had only ever seen one lotus in flower before and that was in a pot
andmowing the lawn!
I've seen photos in his aquatic plants catalogue and they look beautiful
sorry Ruby, he can visit but that is all
I let him put in any plants he wants, as long as they go with the rest of the garden (no yellow)
only kidding, lynxx.....
http://bluelotusfarm.com.au/
I wrote down the address, will save it for after lunch
see you later, reached half yay!
bye Ruby
dinner time for me, back later, i am finding this very slow going
Going to take a break too
((hugs))
beautiful, lyn!
bye Andree and rubyfoo
bfn lyn
fireflies. Bye all.
hello
Good morning Babblers
hi Nono, just back from dinner
hi Lynxx
thought maybe I was all alone :)
Dinner time down here and I think the Europe types are all setting off on their days.
yes could be
am half way on this grid but still need something from the H in third column for nbt
he6.27 he & a ****ffe has a loooong neck
ty so much!
he6.24/7 is a mans name, fairly uncommon nowadays
also means to bully someone
ok got them also, thanks
the other one is he5.15 which is what er5.12 is (as well as a girls name)
he5.14 also name of Australian actor who died in US a few years ago
that one comes from the other H
mmm
the laughing fence maybe ha4.6
yep thats the one, thank you
yw
lovely clue for that he lynxx
we have nieghbors, he's English, she's American, with sons named he6, oscar and yago!
wb Ruby
hi hi no no
can you imagine saddling your children with those names? yago!!!!
hi Ruby
yago is indeed a strange name, what is its origin
I guess I just like old-fashioned, simple names
I quite like He6 and Oscar, Oscar has been quite common here for quite a few years. Not sure about Yago, wonder where that is from?
I can only think of Iago in Othello and that is awful! And they are such anglo-saxon parents
that's funny about oscar. from Oscar the Grouch? I thought it was only from my mother's generation or from the Cichlid
a lot of Cubans in Miami name their sons He6
Jago is the Cornish version of James, I know that
He6 goes back to Greek mythology so I guess that qualifies as old fashioned
thanks Ata was wondering what it might come from
thank you ata, that makes sense since the man is English (Cornish?)
and hello Ata!
Jago sounds a LOT better than Yago
I like names from the bible and the old French custom of only being permitted to name children after saints. Now they are using names like Axelle, Ashley, etc. here
how do they plronounce the J
I wasnt really meant to be here lol, but I saw the Yago thing. One of our lecturers at uni was Colin Jago and I remember looking it up then!
my favorite "American" name was Antowon! lol
as per yago
are you off to get your MRI Ata?
soon, yep!
then there was a girl named Anjenoo! My sister cuts those out of the NY poapers for me
have fun
people come up with the stranges names for their children sometimes
how very ingen-ious
I shouldn't make fun, but I named my son John and if I had had a daughter, she would have been Elizabeth.
anjenyous!
and that's my cue! good morning friends
(my real name is ElizaBeth....)
good morning Trif
yep!!
hello trif!! how are you today?
goodmorning Trif
My mother was Elizabeth....
I am just fine.
were you called the 2 names Trif?
and I am Nancy (which I don't like) so use Nellie or whatever
I was Bethy when I was little, then Beth as I grew up, and then when I went off to college I started asking everyone I met to call me ElizaBeth. Now I can more or less tell how long I have known folks by what they call me
mine is Noreene which I dont care for but only nick name I ever accepted was Nono
but do you pronounce that Elizabeth or Eliza-Beth?
it's pronounced as just one name....I adopted the capital B in the middle out of respect for my mother, who prefers Beth
I'm Sinead and my sister is Siobhan (Irish daddy to blame!)
we grow into our nicknames or earn them. I would like to have been Naomi because my sister's name is Ruth, but it wasn't up to me....
hi Pinny
ah, but then you would have had to follow her everywhere, ruby!
Hi Noreene ;)
I love those two names. My Dublin friends' daughter is named Sinead and their other one is Emma, both lovely names and lovely girls
Noreen is a 'classic' Australian girls name, we add to it with our unique Australian whiny nasal twang
oh no!!
raofl, lynxx
hi folks, following chat - my husband is he 6 and I didn't even see it int he grid!
its not all that common here in the states altho I have met a few others
I like noreene better than nanette. At least my mother didn't choose that
and yago is Santiago in Spain (Saint James) -
hi Pinny & JBV
I was told my parents got the name from an actress in a movie that had seen before I was born
hi pinny and jbv
hi JBV
Hi Lynxxx, Ruby, JBV et all
that's where we got Secondo's real name, nono....not a bad source, on the whole
and middle names? mine is Ellen (hence, nel)
Mine is Hannah
all the girls in my family have the same middle name - anne. My parents were married at St Annes church....
and my first husband had a grandmother Nellie but it was either from Helen or Cornelia, I'm not sure which
I don't have a middle name
that is a lovely custom!
i added the Nanette because Nono was was already taken as a nick on so many sites No No Nanette was a huge broadway musical years ago
I love the nickname no no
I have a friend whose daughter calls the current pope, Pope No!
LOL!
how about Anne?
my mother doesn't have one either, ata. her father didn't so, he didn't see why she needed one
my middle name, I absolutly hate! if you are familiar with some of the older american cartoons you might remember Cecile the seasick sea serpant
AtaAnne!
of course, on most forms she is Dorothy (none) Chase
now we're getting into CakeWrecks! lol
yes, but think of the Paul Simon song and it will make you like it again!
you can be Nonocece - that would be very cute
the family middle name is Mary, and my mother decided when I was born that she didn't want to burden me with it!!
ummm no thanks LOL
the big joke with my grandfather on that side is that his father wanted to name him William, and his mother insisted on Edward (she NEVER lost an argument, that one!). For his ENTIRE life, my grandfather was called "ed" by his mother, and "bill" by his dad.
but everybody wd pronounce it differently.....
that is too funny, trif
he must have been very confused as a small child
John is John Reed, a multi-layered provenance for my ex
picture an old photo with a stern looking woman in it, wearing a black high-necked blouse, cameo and all.....
I've got the picture and love it!
honestly, my grandfather was a wonderful man, with an amazing sense of humor. I think that helped him survive Puritan Edna
he had an uncle Reed, a great-grandfather Reed and then, of course, the John Reed clubs when he was at university!
I mean....Edna! Do you need more information than that?
hrumph, as she probably wd hv said!
I had an Aunty Edna, she was very lovely actually, sweet
my poor grammy had it very rough....Edna could not STAND her, and would moan around, lemon faced, "I never thought my Ed would marry!"
ooh, that smarts!
your grammy shd hv said, but I married Will!
LOLOLOL
lol that would have been the perfect comeback
I actually found the sweetest letter I have ever seen in an old trunk after my grammy died - "bill's" dad wrote her a letter when she and my grandfather got engaged, and it was LOVELY. It starts "well, it seems I am about to get a daughter, and I have always wanted one....." I have it framed on my wall.
LOL how funny and hello all.
hello FM
hi FM
awe that is lovely Trif
this is a fun chog; and you have one of the all-time pretties names!
Trif that was sweet!
sweet Trif
it is lovely that you framed it, trif
prettiest* FM
LOL, ruby -- it's the only way I can be sure I won't lose it!
Just sitting here melting quietly, it is so hot.
how hot?
our first warm day was yesterday and it makes these old bones stop hurting
mid 80s althought the thermometer is saying 120 but that is because the sun is shining directly on it.
when my son was here, cleaning out my studio, he went through all the drawers where I keep old correspondence (MOST of which I threw away when I re-married) and he said "How many boyfriends did you actually have, Mom?"
don't go and sit next to the thermometer please
and what did you tell him ruby?
I was, after all, single for more than 25 years!
I just laughed....
I;'ve moved a lot of the plants into the shade but the rest are getting fried - but c'est la vie.
why is Venus williams wearing something from Ann SUmmers on the tennis court?
fried is better than moldy!
who is Ann Summers?
Probably best ruby - some things are best left to fond memories.
wow, ruby, strange you should mention that -- this article was in the paper yesterday, and I have been thinking about that ever since...
http://www.boston.com/bostonglobe/mag azine/articles/2010/05/23/too_much_inf ormation/
ann summers is a - um - adult store
it is none of his business or, as the French would say, none of his onions
She is Ata? umm Ann Summers is a sex catalogue that also has shope in the high street.
shade cloth is a wonderful thing, I stapled some onto stakes which I put drape orchids etc when the sun is brning
perhaps you could buy some er7 there?
I think no matter what she wears, it looks like it comes from that kind of catalogue -- but for cross-dressers!
*I drape over
lol Trif
great clue (s) trif, thank you
it certainly looks like it! trying to find a pic
thanks. and do check that article out, ruby, it's a fascinating topic
she is so big!
I would look like a little kid next to her and her sister
http://img.skysports.com/10/05/800x600 /Venus-Williams-French-open_2456656.jp g
that outfit is absurd
you couldn't tiny it could you?
oh, what is she like in that thing???
what's funny is that my husband has never asked me anything about my single years. Maybe he's afraid to know
I don't know what to say. Perhaps a tad inappropriate
hello Jean!
http://tinyurl.com/3xlbung
or a LOT inappropriate
hi Espritd
maybe he is afraid that if he does, YOU will!
but don't tell her so or she'll deck you!
thank you dear :)
isn't it silly!
bonjour ruby, lynn
I wouldn't....ever!
very true Ruby
she looks like an x-rated clown
that's the sort of info that always comes back at you, usually in a fit of anger. And he's been married 4 times!
at least you can tell your secrets to dogs and they never repeat them!
lol esprit! exactly!
some people will never have any class no matter how wealthy they become
good lord what was she thinking? What happened to wearing white when playing tennis?
scary, sin't it! definitely more ann summers than tennis
ata and fm: next Friday afternoon is there a train I could take that would be within saying ehllo distance of the two of you? My hotel is in Kensington and I will have some time in the afternoon....
more Anna Nicole Smith than tennis
more night clubor dance off by the look of it.
she will become the laughing stock of tennis if she continues to wear that sort of clothing on the court
lol Esprit.
surely there is some regulation they can rely on to ban that kind of dress
I'm sure I could get up to London by next Friday. What about you FM?
it would not be allowed at Wimbledon i bet
tennis "purists" must have had a collective heart attack when she pranced out in that get up
still all white at Wimbledon :)
I wouldn't mind coming closer as you are still Hobbling, ata..
I thought it was terrible when they aboandoned white clothes
Not sure - have some heavy meetings set up for month end - it is that time of year when I re negotiate contrats but will see what I can do.
brb i need to brew some coffee
it's a good excuse to get out! I'd appreciate it!!
but I also object to the grunting....old-fashioned me
excellent, then
ick, I hate the grunting
but now I should go and get ready to poddle off into Canterbury for an hour's browsing and then MRI
nobody ever grunted before the past 10 (?) years or so; does it help their games?
good luck with the MRI!
bye Ata
TTFN Ata I must be off too.
tyty. be back later!
see you later, you two
although I am loathe to leave my pups, it will be wonderful to get away

I must have misread the clue wrong below! OK! I will try AG!
Good morning all. I am at work and will be in + out of here all day. How is everyone?

Hi Judy
Hiya Mom!
Car, did Trif tell you I'm coming through MA next month.
Hello again. In between patients.
this is a fun game
I should be working though - just a couple more
"Just 1 more word....just 1 more word."
hi, all :)
Hi NB!
Hello NB - how are you
I'm fidgety ;) a friend of a friend recommended a stop-smoking aid, but it doesn't seem to be working yet. I'm not doing as well as you, Mom!
and hi, Scrabbs, what a nice welcome :)
You can do it, NB. One hour at a time. Substitute a healthy habit--sugar-free candy + gum. You will have such pride to be an ex-smoker.
It is the hardest thing NB - hang in there - It was real rough going even taking the Chantix - I think I got a placebo - one day at a time - I still get strong urges and need to put myself someplace else
You can do it to - believe me - if I can anyone can
ag5,14 One who discriminates against the elderly (or the young)
and each day you dont smoke makes you prouder you made it though another day
Hi, NB!! Gotta keep going on that non-smoking campaign. Best thing you can do for yourself.
Hi wht!
Hello wht
I was proud of myself for seeing that word already, wht. It's one of those words I typically miss.
Oh Mom, I'm using the British version of that. Champix over here ;)
and thanks for the support ladies ;) I'm telling everyone I'm quitting, so I'll be too embarrassed to admit defeat and start again.
I got the ag5/14 from that lower right A but still don't have the other word
did you start a week before your quit day?
thats what I did too - and announcing each days success help - even though I am boing everyone to tears now
errrm, no...I'm an impatient soul ;)
boring
My Doctor recommended one to weeks of taking the med before you quit
Hi all. CJ, I don't have the other word either.
thats my typo - boring
Just popping in and out since I should be working.
No you're not Mom. This is a big accomplishment. You need to get positive reenforcement. Go Mom! Go NB!
we all should be working, wht! LOL
ae5/12 - only one consonant
good morning everyone
join the working babblers wht - so should I and Judy - shh
good morning everyone:))
you're not boring anyone, Mom :) just hope I'm not stealing your thunder - I know everyone here is so proud of you!
Hello Vi + Crossy
ty Vic! I always miss that one!!!
Good Morning Vicuna dn flosey and now crossy
Morning Crossy!
Oh, and gm Flosey!
Hm, ae5 is not the eagle'e nest
hi, Crossy!
mnh,you still off the smokes?
Found it.
but, best to quit now, since England's got a pretty good heatwave on...it's too hot to smoke.
the more the merrier NB - please join ((NB))
NOPE crossy - 33 days
ty vic
good to quit while you are young nb;)
WTG Mom, proud of you for that
Wooo hooo, mnh! Your lungs are healing!
I meant nope on smoking - yes still off the smokes
yaa for mnh!! crossy gives mnh a big ole bear hug;)
Good for you Mom. Keep on goin'!!
and NB, you too can do it, you have lots of backing here
I didnt realize how much I was huffing and puffing until now when I dont get out of breath racing up my stairs
does anyone have a clue for ae7 please?
NB, do they allow smoking in bars in England?
sorry flosey dont have it yet - keep looking for air freshioners but cant find them
ae7 - parked in a ch5/14 up in the ai4/4?
I am working the list backwards today so havent really looks for many A's
(ae4 + placed one's ar4 in a ch5)
they don't Flosey, no...which is a pain. One problem they found after banning smoking in clubs was that the clubs began to reeeally stink...no cigarette smoke to mask the sweat smell!
oooh, 222 is my lucky number!
oh, that must be pretty bad, NB
Hi Harp! Great clue Vic!!
Hi Jane. I love even numbers so was excited to see 222 earlier.
TY, Vicuna!
Spoken like a true smoker, NB - because after all the clubs reeeeally stank before, too... of cigarette smoke. Eeeww! =D
I now notice how bad smokers smell when walking by them and think that was me alittle over a month ago
And you've always got the smell of stale spilt beer to mask the sweat. ;)
mnh,by now you should be able to really smell the stink that is all over other smokers,us that as incentive as well
We got married on 02/02/2002
use
The OB MD is doing fetal sonograms down the hall here so I keep hearing baby's heart beats.
especially in an elevator like here at work - whew..
LOL Vic. got me there. stale smoke smells foul even to me, but I love the smell of cigarettes whilst I'm smoking them.
Wowee, Jane! Great numbers!
ah still a newlywed
how long for you mnh?
33 days
oh married - 23 years
one track mind lately
no,marriage
ahh my 17th is coming up very soon
awww, congratulations
we will reach 48 years this August
thats great crossy
darn woman is going to need a finger extention for all the hardware;((
Still unmarried here.
wow impressive flosey - my anniversay is in August too.
48..my god
Mine, too.
Not a word = gotcha
not a bad thing scrabbs - some days I wish I was too
same, Scrabbs ;)
no anniversary here either!
All of my female friends tell me that I have made the smart decision to remain unmarried.
lol, funny, you only asked your female friends....
one doesn't have to be married to have an anniversary though ;) too bad I have to wait until December...
though there are day let me tell you ...lol
and what anniversary would that be NB?
you are absolutely right NB
I have 1 close male friend who says that there are nice guys looking for someone like me.
Hello all! First day of unemployment and my stomach hurts
i am sure that there is a guy out there good enough to deseve you scwabby
oh I'm a bit sentimental, Flosey. The day the super-straight Leo confessed his undying love for me is one ;)
Oh No science - they did cut you?
I'd agree with that whole-heartedly, Scrabbs!
howdy science,i was off for 8 months lol
ah, sweet, NB
Hi geek!
They left three choices: layoff, 10,000/yr salary cut, or part-time (still a cut)
But I do not feel that I must "find" a guy. If it happens, amen.
I need to see how to get some tutoring jobs and file for unemployment
I'm with you Scrabs!
exactly scrabbs
i would of taken the p/t and topped it off with ei
Enjoy the free time for now, SG.
jobs are just too damn tight, had to make my own lol
oh, and the 10,000 cut leaves me with a salary of $18k LOL
No part time sux because I drive 80 miles a day for this job. My costs are $48/day. I would be paying him to come to work
Below the poverty level, SG!
18 k is the average now here science
that's impossible SG
I will tutor and book more shows for the jewelry. I am a bit scared
you have got to be kidding - dont they realize how important it is to teach our kids
you will do fine science
Well, I need all of your prayers!

Get creative in finding ways to earn $.
He only cares about his income not the quality of the instruction

Crossy, go to NPR.org and find the broadcast about books in color schemes that people need for backgrounds in TV/film - they pay big dollars - especially for leather bound books
super, crossy
My husband is the one who makes me nervous....
I have 1 - it is a TO8/55
I hope it all comes to fruition for you Crossy! I'll keep my fingers crossed.
ok, will look for that
big bear hug for science

haha, reminds me of a scene in Black Books... "these here, the collected works of charles dickens. are they real leather?" "they're real dickens."
lol NB
lol
wow, got the to8; thx Mom
clue for the 8?
and science what you can also do is find a shop owner who will give you a bit of floor space for you wares.i have done that before and it works well
Yes, Crossy, I will try that also
he8/45 is the other, but I don't have it
when you get the he8 can you help me out judy
SG, perhaps this is the beginning of a great opportunity.
I hope so. I just feel like sobbing
to 8 - first three letters of Babbler from CA + double letter tile + past tense of dine
wouldnt that be fine science? you jewlery takes off into a full time biz?:)))
Go ahead, and sob, then get to work at finding a job OR making more $ on your own.

I guess the important thing is to look at adversity as an opportunity. Turned out it was for me!
that's a clue for the he8/45

une meant to put a * where the r is.
actually she put both!

Can you redo that clue please, Une?
welll, phooey -- sorry
Hi Ruru--just woke up?

yes.. I have been sleeping in late .. lately
hello again. reading through the chog. sciencegeek: if you can't cry here, who is! I think, in my very limited experience in babble, that this is a wonderful group of people, each of whom has had his occasinal meltdowns and we are all there for him!
Hi Ruru!
he + sounds like model ms. banks who hosts america's next top model
add extra vowel for the 8.
3/4 of he4/6 or he4/5 + what we breathe + 2/3 of what we breathe
I'll drink to that, Ruby :)
Hiya Ruby!
<----- hasn't had a meltdown...
hi judy!!!
it's alright Ruru, I've had more than my fair share

Hi Ruby
in these few months this group has helped me through several crises!!!
scrabs, didn't you say you had columbine this year? did it bloom nicely for you?
Hi Uni

You have had much adversity in your life, Ruru, that had strengthened you.

I wish I could do that, ruru
Just cut gorgeous peonies from my garden; in a vase on my kitchen table
how about lone I for NBT?
11:00 patient appears to be a no-show.

oh no scrabbs - that would mean......more babble time
ty haz my mind is not right
You're welcome.
re temps, not surprised -- we tied the all-time record for 5/23 yesterday -- 91 ugh
True, Ruby, but some people have more than enough challenges for a lifetime.
hey, haz!
I wish my husband would be more like you - he sweats everything
bbl need to see what to do to file unemployment
Yikes, Une!
<---- far from perfect
mine just complains!
yowser - thats hot - we got to 80 - it was very nice
{{{hugs}}} SG

Hello! I'm just here momentarily. Or that's what I'm telling myself.
I've had enough, but it's better than the alternative!
Hi Haz--reading another Tana French book--set in Ireland. Wickworth?
I cannot find the ae 5/14

Ah, yes, maybe that is it, Haz.
aegis
ruby found it! LOL
that's the 5/12 scrabs
Wicklow is a very pretty county below Dublin, beautiful scenery.
That's the one, Ruby!
sorry, was still in chog bad ruby!
very good ruby - now take a seat in the PB - fresh coffee and pastry
Generous Ruby!
thanks une
oh yum!
*looking at pastries in PB and drooling*
off to pick up a big bouquet of flowers for tomorrow for my mom's 84th bday! *poof*
others would disagree!
bye une
too hot to eat today Judy ;)
Wow, Une!
bye Une
omg, pastries
what's the temp over there NB?
how hot, NB, I'm going to London on Friday for the weekend and will probably have all the wrong clothes if it's hot!
crossy likes ruby,s clues best:))
*wondering why I never think it's too hot to eat*
ohhh, we're having a little heatwave at the moment...about 30 celsius here, but factor in the city smog...ugh.
lol crossy (((xxox))
It'll probably be over by Friday, Ruby!
My friends flight to Italy got cancelled due to British Airways strike - she was supposed to leave thursday.
I'll just have to peel layers! I planned my clothes when it was 45F here
because the USA is air-conditioned? :P
my son is in Rome....uh oh
bummer Mom. Luckily I'm driving for my vacation this year so don't have to deal with airlines.
hopefully they can find her another airline or what a disappointment - 10 days in Italy planned to the last 6 months
no, NB, I'm in France, only the upstairs is air-conditionned
It's scheduled to cool by about 10 degrees come the weekend, ruby, so you should be fine
guessed that from yer flag Ruby ;) I was answering Judy :)
Middle H clues--my only blank tile.
Hi Pinny
he's flying United and I'm flying easyJet, so neither of us should have problems. I'll just be dressed wrong
Hi Pinny!
Im done H's but cant tell you from which letter they come from
Love my air conditioning, NB!! LOL
ty , pinny
Hi everyone!
it will just make my hair more curly
he6 and he7 - the old-fashioned hero argues and heckles.
my vacation this year will be remote camping again
No AC for me, but I live in the woods and my house tends to not get too hot.
me too - I dont have air conditioning at home
TY,Haz!
we need some air conditioning here today...all the windows are flung wide open but I'm not dressed enough to go near them. Too hot for clothes, food, everything. Keep dragging myself into the kitchen to make tea ;)
the only time I've camped out was in Alaska and I hated it! The fishing was good, but all the rest was horrible!
Fun, mnh! Where do you go?
the he6 and 8 must come from the middle H
do you ever feel unreasonably guilty about things?
You're welcome, Scrabbler.
I have a bottle of water that i stuck in the freezer last night
who are you asking, hursh?
Yes, I do, Hurshy.
i'm asking anyone who wants to answer :)
never, if it was I, hursh!
ag 6/24? is it obvious?
I've had enough bad times to merit anything good that ever happens!
I don't have it, Ru.
long, long *** the tree began to decay or ***
I don't either
Not to me, ruru.. It ends in three letters of decay, reached by a vowel.
Strange word. TY.
thx Hursh!
sure, Hurshy. I feel guilty about upsetting my family all the time, but at the end of the day they're choosing to upset themselves. So, unreasonably guilty...sure
very strange!
I only feel guilty if I make my dogs feel bad, otherwise never
we have been camping on a penisula on a lake in Maine - have to boat or walk in a mile all gear. We get most of it in by boat and then we play in the water all week. Very relaxing. No services - so kids dont have TV, computer, cell phones. We have a crank up radio to check the weather.
thanks haz I needed that one
Aha, a patient has arrived--ill teenage boy. It's my job to fix him.
So cool, mnh!!
You're welcome, ruru.
i went on a tour of a historic house with my mom and dad, husband and sister, and the volunteer guide, well, he left much to be desired. i wasn't sure if my parents had really been interested in the first place, so i made a comment when we left about his being not so great, i don't know, by way of apology or just acknowledging that i knew he wasn't great or whatever. and then people stuck up for him and ever since i feel really bad about it, and i don't know why! he didn't know i said anything at all!
Mom - that sounds AMAZING! Can I come with???
Hey, Mom. I'm headed to NE and Canada for my vacation next month.
Envy you Mom - we used to do two one-week backpacking trips every year - when the kids were little (we started when they were 5 and 2) we'd hike in for two days and the kids and I would perch in a good place to keep them busy and my husband would go off for two days on a more challenging hike - then back out in two days, back to town, replenish the packs, and off for another trip! Wonderful!
You are permitted to your opinion, Hursh. You had higher expectations. I am similar.
Hi hgk
stepping on a dog = guilty
you can fix teenagers scrabs?
Hi hgk
that would be a large business
Put it out of your head, hurshy. If you'd told him off in terms of him being a numbskull and humiliated him, then you might have cause to feel guilty. You expressed an opinion in a discreet way.
fix? not sure if I like the sound of this ;)
ha
ROFL NB
ty haz
Sorry for the choice of wording, NB. I will heal him.
Hey, Hurshy, you did nothing wrong.
Momneedshelp, I just found out the he8 comes from the left h. Can't tell you more than that - still working on it!
Go forth and heal Dr. Scrabs
Hi sf
have you ever considered hanging out a shingle, haz?
Hello superflippy!
well I'm soon to be 20, so I beg to be excused from that ;) no sudden movements!
And sometimes people defend someone automatically, even if they deep down agree with you. You can be sure that the others have forgotten about it.
Hello all! Enjoying reading about the he6's you all have planned for the summer. ;)
hello super!
thanks also ciocia and scrabs for the reassurance.
thanks flippy for clarifying - trying to read chog that is going way too fast and type at same time
this is an amazing chog!
Hurshy, I tend to have high expectations of others so am easily disappointed. I have to be careful to be realistic.
I just prepared 3 elaborate dog risottos for while I'm away (3 whole nights)!!! If they don't eat the risotto, there is always kibble. Too bad!
WOW Ruby; you're dogs must love you
Husband keeps saying "Don't feel guilty" Right!
What breeds are the pups?
i wasn't disappointed really but i was feeling nervous about whether my parents had a good time. and the guy had been sooo nervous and repetitive, i didn't know if that had bugged them.
they are chow chows and I have ruined all of their eating. You'd think I'd learn!
Oh nooo, gotta go get dressed (ugh) walk out into the heat (ugh) and go to work (UGH!)...see you all later :)
I hate leaving my kitty cats for vacation; they will have an excellent caregiver but it won't be the same w/o them.
bye NB. {{hugs}}
I want to go live with Ruby
bye NB
my female chow will grieve while I'm gone, but she does that if I go to the store.... I refuse to stay home because of that!
we take our dogs - can do that when you remote camp
I want to live with almost everyone on the chog! In a platonic way, of course:)
my kittens are SO happy i'm back. esp marty.
LOL Pinny!
I have an edxtra room, Mom, you are welcome any time (after 1 June), and I'm not kidding!
arent they funny - you can be gone 2 minutes and its like they havent seen you in days
no questin about platonic, pinny, I wish you'd tell my DH that! |LOL
Hi e1.... How is the grid?
Hello beach, it's okayish.
Hiya Beachy!!
I think this chog has the most interesting people I've met in years!
BBS--must see patient now.
its a good one beach
hello beach!
ruby doesn't get out much.
we love you to Ruby!
it's true
ty Judy!
((((CiocaJudy))))
I don't feel interesting at all, but glad you think we are, ruby.
ar 6/18?
Judy are you stopping in NE on your way through
It is funny being friends with my French neighbors; it is much more formal than with English-speakers, probably because I'm not from here. My neighbor across the road has lived here for more than 30 years and is still not accepted as a local
Yes Mom
ar6/18 - think nobility
you are very interesting, Haz, and your life sounds wonderful!
Haz, you're always interesting!!!
I'm just me, everybody probably thinks their life is quite ordinary and uninteresting to others.
thanks
Going to Maine, PEI, Nova Scotia, then back to VT
also, haz, you are wise! Not a lot of that going around!
My past was interesting, my present is simply pretty
I think everyone is interesting because we are from different countries; working in diverse areas; have assorted hobbies, etc.
sounds like a great trip - making a big circle around my state
I have to go and fix dinner, see you all later, I hope
I'm hoping to meet up with some Babblers along the way, Mom.
bye Ruby *waves*
bye ((ruby))
That's what I mean, Ciocia, people probably think that their life is normal, but it's interesting to others. I can't imagine having my garden eaten by deer but it seems to happen to people here.
that would be fun
oh, they dont eat my garden just my hostas - lol
oh Haz, we have to maintain high fences here or the deer would get in and clean us out!
deer are rodents with hooves
That's what I mean. The closest we come to having deer around here is when they bring Santa's reindeer across at Christmas.
and you should see the moose - huge
we can tell when they come through with the indents across the lawn
On the other hand, any Americans/Canadians I know can't get over us having lots of old buildings or castles and us being so blase about it.
we have tacky castles in Napa Valley
Mom, my traveling companion wants to see moose - any special places to go?
Kind of reproduction ones?
Pittsburg NH - on the Canadian border - drive on Rte 3 at dusk - you will see dozens. If you are driving through northern Maine at dusk you may see some as well. Look for mud slicks on the side of the road - that is a good indication of where they will be.
that is SO cool
Thx Mom!
and in June their babies will be born - just dont go anywhere near a mom and child or she will charge
yes.. just silly castles
I hear ya, Mom. Watched a dingbat with an instamatic camera many years ago go right up to a moose in Yellowstone Nat'l Park. Idiots!!
Okay, time for me to go. Enjoy the day and bye for now!
*gone*
bye haz - will be leaving soon myself
Bye Haz
Almost time for lunch here.
halfway... bbl to finish.. *poof*
bye Beachy! I'm heading out for lunch too. BBL
I have 10 dreaded A's left - need fresh eyes - bbl

As most of you know, our oldest graduated college in Dec. 2008, and had not be able to find full time work, but he was hired full time at the library where he has been working part time since he started college. My icon is a picture of him. I wish him all the luck in the world.

back from MRI :)
hi FM
HI FM
thank you and hello FMitch
how did it go ata
Hi Ata, how did it go?
hi all
Hey Ata, how was it?
HI Boo
Hi Boo
fine! it was all very straightforward. 25 minutes in there. and I didn't have to go all the way intp the MRI tube, so it wasn't claustrophobic or anything
hi Boo
oh good - any results yet?
that is the worse part I think, going in the tube
results tomorrow, but interestingly the dr notes (that I sneaked a look at) said ACL not medial ligament. INteresting ...
it is freaky in there with all the clanging and noise
must go, have to finish packing, be back tonight at flip, then off tomorrow morning to Toronto to visit sons and old friends
Hugs Ata
bye flosey - have a great trip if I dont see you
bye bye Flosey, thanks again for the clues {{hugs}}
HAVe a lovely time flosey.
Uh, oh. ACL tear = surgery + long rehab.
yw mom
Hello, Citizens of Babbledom.
Hi Scrabbler and Vicuna
Greetings again, Vicuna.
wecome back both of you
Vi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and hello too to Scrabs.
Back for the duration of lunch. =)
Viiiiii11111!!!!!1111
How is spring treating you, FM?
we overshot spring and went straight to the tropics - it is mid 80s today I am melting :)
yes, scrabs ... I wasn't very amused to see that!! But it can't be really torn, if there is a problem there, because I can walk (just) without the brace
Ata, sounds like the appointment wasn't too traumatic. i hope the results are good.
*applies emergency icepacks to FM*
Lunch is over and time to iron. See you all later. {{Hugs}}
thanks Vi, I am going to have to buy some v high factor sun screen for when I am in the garden. Bye Mom.
Goodbye, Mom.
bye bye FM and Vicuna
Sure you can walk with a torn ACL. The ACL limits anterior motion of tibia (lower leg) so you can walk but if you stopped and pivoted--unstable knee joint.
Yes, the Vicuna family slathered up this morning before school for the first time for the season. (Probably should have started about a week ago, though.)
Hugs Ata even more in the light of Scrabs postings :(
drat! there goes my sense of security :P
Uh oh, Ata. *crosses fingers for test results*
clue for ac 5 pls
ac5/12 - thespian
oh well, we'll see tomorrow! I do have to say that the ACL area does feel very very tight. I'm hoping I just bruised it or something
and the medial definitely went to some extent, I saw my knee hyperextend inwards quite dramatically. But I know that heals relatively quickly adn easily
there are times when ignorance is bliss.
Sorry to be pessimistic, just being realistic.
Good news = MRI will give needed info.
oh I know, I was wondering all along anyway aboyut the cruciate
lol Scrabs and how is life with you today?
hello. so, sounds like there will be progress ata
Typically ACL tear is assoc with severe pain, "pop", and swollen joint (hemarthrosis).
Hello, dcseain.
I slept poorly last night, perhaps 4 hrs, and have avoided the crankies so far.
Hi Seain
hi, vicuna, scrabbs, FM, ata, boo, et al
drat. well there was a biiig pop. it was very swollen, and there's still quite serious bruising from knee down to ankle. but not much pain
oh dear that is not a lot of sleep at all. I got woken up by a car alarm going off this morning and had been hopingfor a sleep in.
Hey dc, good to see you again.
poor scrabs and FM :(
Initial treatment is no different--rest joint, relieve swelling, and if not improving in 2 wks get MRI
and I got up at 5am to watch the finale of LOst *facepalm*
Poor Scrabbler. I get cranky even with plenty of sleep! =)
*smacks Ata* you twit!
I am on-call tonight and hope I can sleep well tonight.
(No sympathy for Ata on that one! lol)
I woke up anyway about 4:30 so I thought I might as well :)
I have never watched Lost and will rent the DVDs to see with a friend that also missed the Lost cult.
I watched a couple of them when the series first started but have to admit - it just didn't catch me or I didn't catch it ... either way .....
I loved Lost. But I did prefer watching the series on DVD afterwards, so I could just sit and immerse myself in a whole series at a time
same here, FM
phew thans dc, was worried that I was going to be the only one in the world that didn't get it.
So maybe I won't get into it anyway.
no, you're not the only, but we seem to be a minority
Never tried. I don't have time for much TV, preferring to waste my time in other ways. =D
oooh, cat almost got a titmouse
onlyt he sound of cat on wood floor saved the bird
Poor titmouse.
it sure is angry, the bird
Bad cat!
lol, back in a mo must get more ice for my water.
it's rare for a bird to be on the balcony. usually they sit in the tree, just beyond the balcony
it's worth trying, scrabs. you'll either love it or think what the heck was the world interested in!
yes, what ata said
if nothing else, it has a few very beautiful men to watch :P
and polar bears
Matt Fox + Inidan guy..
Beautiful men and polar bears? What's not to like? lol
*Indian guy
yes, Naveen Andrews
he was on Law + Order this season--my intro to the guy--HOT!!!
he's utterly gorgeous!
stuck on ac 5/12
one who is a character in a play is one
or a thespian as Vi clued it earlier and don't forget to pl it.
or Naveen Andrews and Matthew Fox LOL
sorry I draw a complete blank
Try google and/or a dictionary
oscars = best ac*** and best actress
Hi all. Been out in the garden all day so glad to be in the cool.
Hello, Sally.
Well, lunch long over so I'd better get back to other stuff. Good to see you all. *waves*
Hi Sally, it is a tad warm isn't it :)
hi Sally!
Byeeee Vi
Hallo, hallo, hallo. Yes, very warm but am loving it, living on iced water at the moment while we 2 idiots put up some electric netting. We would make a skilled contractor weep with laughter.
byee vi!!
what are you trying to keep in or out with the netting?
*gasp* just saw an advert for Mentos mints. I always assumed they were pronounced Mento-s. But apparently it's Men-toss
*snort*
lol
foxes out FM, to protect the chooks
Never used to see daytime foxes here but we do now :-(
oh good luck Sally!
they are getting quite bold here too
We are both a bit creaky so it's a slow process.
Creak on, you'll get there in the end :)
There are bits of me creaking now that I didn't could creak.
Our land is very wild and undulating, so it's not a straightforward job, but it's lovely to be out and absolutely wonderful that T is able to do so much more now than last year :-)
yes that in itself must be such a relief Sally that he can be out doing stuff.
loved looking at your website re the build of the hosue etc - talk about a big project!
I have suggested we could get someone to help, but he is quite determined we will do this ourselves :-)
Glad you enjoyed the website FM. We just adore our garden here. Every spot is a joy to be in, by the stream or by the pond or anywhere else. Sigh.
lol, I am at school and Lickety is blocked as a "pornography site"!
rofl fuzzy!
oh dear fuzzy
gorgeous kitty, fuzzy!
That is our dear cat woody.
Sally the house and the garden ar wonderful. Can see why you both put so much into it.
he's *gorgeous*!
Maybe one day we can have a babble meet up here :-)
Thanks, he is a very large maine coon. He chirps when he purrs, quite funny.
awwwwwwwww!
Im back to hopefully finish quickly
hey fuzzybunny where are you in Maine
woody would love your kitty!
oh he is so handsome, That face has such character.
Woody is "blushing"!
I suspect sily is about a 1/3 the size of woody!
Im in love. (sorry Ata but you know that Sily will always be my first love) *gr4in*
Woody is 38 inches from his head to his tail. He only weighs 13 lbs.
lol fm, my true loves in the cat world are gingers and maine coons ...
Sily weighs 7lb :P
fm, refresh my pic :)
oh DEAR
i'm on hold with the company i buy cat food from
awe she looks like a kitten!! compare that with the smiley fluffed one you wouldn't think they were the same cat.
and they have their own little song for the hold music
that was when she was a kitten :D
here comes hurshy singing...
ok I still love Siley the best :) Hi hurshy.
looooool
sing the song, hurshy!
"pets are part of your family they're just like you and just like me pets have feelings too..."
oh dear ......
good lord!
thats beautiful..
I KNOW!
Perhaps we have to guess the song. Oh! I thoiught it might be "We are siameese if you please"
it goes on, something about our best friends being loyal and true...
but the lady finally picked up the phone.
(From The Lady and the Tramp)
that would be MUCH BETTER sally
Did you tell her you didn't like the caterwauling :-)
Am going to age myself here Sally but that is a song from the Aristocats wasn't it?
i don't know if you guys are familiar with the concept of vacation bible school - but it was that style of music.
clue for the ai6 please
Oh I thought it was Lady and the Tramp, FM. Hang on.
most like the nitrogen-oxygen-etc combination that we breathe
it IS lady and tramp
HERE YOU ARE: <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdDla0 QW844>
Think you might be right there but both films were happy viewings in my childhood.
this chog is too funny! I sing to the dogs; they are the only ones who can stand my tuneless voice
Hi ruby!
I probably still have them at home from when my kids were little - cant see to get rid of anything
hello FM!
welcome back ruby
i mean i make a lot of songs about cats but jeepers that was a bad one.
I LOVE that, ty Sally!
thank you. I just taught my husband how to feed the dogs! lol and I prepared 3 days' food for them and froze it; he just has to thaw it and add water and cook
my feeling is "Let them eat kibble!"
sally, DH has ordered those round pond screens from the website you provided. Thank you for that
So are you geting clothes packed yet ruby?
here's my version of california girls: well East Coast cats are hip I really dig that fur they wear and the Southern cats with the way they meow they knock me out when i'm down there the Midwest farmers' barn cats really make you feel alright and the Northern cats with the way they purr they keep their mamas warm at night i wish they all could be my cute kitten caaaats..."
and we still have a small 20-30 breeding population, hoping that they aren't all girls!
Oh hi ruby, was revisiting the Siamese Cat song. It is so brilliant, especially if you know Siamese :-)
hurshy, that is brilliant!
I just had to re-dye a pair of pants to go with my fancy tunic!
Oh, glad the pond screens were of interest. Hope they work.
but I'm not taking much stuff
Don't worry ruby. Absolutely ANYTHING will look normal in London.
he is out of his mourning and feeling hopeful again. He keeps saying "Don't feel guilty about going away!"
thats good to hear
No problem with clothes for me; when I worked, I travelled a lot.
haircut tomorrow, hopefully my catastrophe can be fixed
lol know that one ruby - my suitcase was able to fit in the overhead locker even when I was on a 2 week trip.
ruby, saw the ideal gift for you - possibly for Ata too: <http://www.agilityability.com/hemote. htm>
my problem is that I can't reach the overhead Madame Shrimp!
Must be off for a while TTFN all.
Bye for now FM.
bye FM
looooool sally!
Giggle. Great isn't it.
very
does anyone have the AI6 please
a + 7 year ****
I don't Mom, sorry.
ai6, what you breathe + superlavtive ending
thanks Book
8-D
thanks gwen
I always seem to miss that word
hey no prob
hemote looks like a great idea, but it took me all this time to get back into babble. I must be doing something wrong! :(
oooo who is that in the tub in your pic, mnh?
hello gwen
my 2 year old lab Tori - she loves her pool - I was washing dishes and looked out my window and there she was all by herself in her pool
awwww! that's adorable
ruby, you need to learn to open a new tab, or new window. You can always copy and paste the link into that tab or window, then it's easy to get back into babble.
she is quite the character
I don't know how to do that
black labs tend to be ......
ruby, are you using Mozilla Firefox?
pb for you mom! to**
I have mozilla, but don't know if I'm using it or not
*hoping there is wine this time*
I feel like such a dope!
ruby, try holding the Control key then hit the letter T and see if you get a tab
I'll make you a martini!
from where you are go to file - then new window
yes, I got a "page vierge" lol
always thoughtful ruby
so when I get that I can open another site and not lose babble?
oh duh, you have a french browser!
thats right
ruby, yes, a tab is like another browser inside your browser
yes, it makes things a little bit harder.....
yes, that's right. I have 6 tabs and two windows open at the moment!
ok, here goes....
I can just click between them and don't lose any - so I can go and look at Youtube, then come back to babble.
I just tried to get the Venus Williams link that ata gave before and it said it couldn't get that page!
omg THAT dress
Qs have been Quilted
anyone have the last ar5
Oh dear! Just googled Venus Williams since I didn't have the link. Made my eyes water!
perhaps she couldn't get on the "page vierge" hahah
Ann Summers meets tennis
but I did get bluelotusfarm, an australian link. Go figure!
oh my
got up in the morning, mom
thanks sally - I know I typed that in - everyday I get a few words that takes a few trys to get
**FIREWORKS**
wtg mom !!! ~~~ !!!

I wouldn't know where to start as I need so many :(
wanna clue the 8s? plz and ty
just plain old bombay gin and noilly prat. Actually I had a pisco sour, just made martinis for DH
what actually *is* noilly prat?
it's white vermouth, I think the best one, but I only use 1/3 of a capful
sounds like a nitwit who won't shut up
hahah
the pisco sour was better
ohhh right
"pay no attention to that noilly prat behind the curtain!"
one too many martinis for dr gwen
that's not a nice way to descrbe husbands!
hic!
sounds about right
just feed them their martinis!
funny tat hadst is a word, but not goest... not all king james english accepted i guess
I have a friend who used to put rohypnol into her husband's drinks
I will say goodbye for today - see you all tomorrow ((hugs)) to all
((hugs to you, mom))
loool ruby!!
bye bye mums
brb
bye everybody, see you tomorrow
bye bye rubys
bye ruby, have a nice evening
Hi to all. Just coming to the grid for today. The washing is being done, the drying is drying, tomato plants are waiting to be planted, and the piano tuner is pounding on the piano. All's well with the world.
hiya stidgmere -- are you one of the famous stid clan?
How lovely stidmee.
Hio BD sitdmere is the mama of the clan.
i thought stidmama was the mama . . . hmmm
stidmama is si stdmeres daughter.
stidmere is the mama of the mama
okay, i checked yer profile. a beaver holding a shrimp on a skewer, hmmm lol
Yes, I am Stidmama's mama.
Well, I didn't see the skewer. We were in Quebec and it seemed appropriate for a logo.
hello stidmere, good to see you.
and in the other hand he's got a huntin' knife. that beaver is prepared for anything LOL
and what relation are you to Scrabbler?
Well it is good to see fmitch. I am not the uberBabbler that my daughter is but we want our offspring to be sufficient. I am no relation to Scrabbler. She is related on the son-in-law's side of the family. Do you have a pencil to scratch out all of the lines and such?
I've figured out through geneaology that we are all cousins if we go back a few centuries. So, I am very polite to rude drivers. I consider them awkward cousins.
you're a relation in law :)
lol stidmere
Yes, I think that is right Atalante. How are you?
hello all
Ata, dear, did you have your MRI?
i've greyed out enough tiles to have my stats looking like the letter M
Hi peri. Oh, it is time for a coffee break I think.
Have to go, only popped in to say Hi to you stidmere. To all alll other see you on the morrow.
I have one purpled tile but that is the n 0/0. Do you think it is grayed?
Thank you fmitch.
well, mine look kinda blue but i consider the filled ones to be gray cuz i'm weird
I did, peri. MRI completed. Results tomorrow :)
okay, i just grayed out the C and spoiled my pattern 8-(
I suspect you're about as normal as Babblers are allowed to be.
yupper! lol
ok, Ata. did you have to get there yourself.
I am lagging behind as usual. But the scenery is lovely.
nap time for me, see y'alls later POINK
yes, peri! it was a bit of an effort ...
I am sure it was, be sure to give dh a hit on the head for me!!
willingly :P
could he not rearrange his schedule?
nope
did he even try tho? sorry had to ask
nope!!
He just exudes compassion, doesn't he?
give him another hit on the head then!!!
oh utterly!
hi there Scrabs
I had to get a bus into Canterbury, then a bus up to the other hospital, then walk 15 mins to the hospital with the MRI. then reverse!
In between patients again. 2:00 pm patient is not here yet.
that is an awful lot of effort Ata
and again tomorrow for physio!
poor Ata
how late can they show and you still see them, scrab?
You are an independent, tough chick, Ata!
Ata, just think you are getting lots of exercise
she has to be Scrabs with the spouse she has
We give them 15 minutes, for well visits, no limit if sick, as we cannot not see a sick child even if parent is irresponsible.
I had a no-show this morning, for pre-op clearance. Mother called 30 min ago to say she forgot and surgery is Wednesday and kid must be seen...so I added kid on at 3.
It is sad to see widespread, abundant parental irresponsibility on a daily basis.
yep, harder with kids... if an adult fails to show, they pay the penlty (ie - maybe their surgery will be delayed) but with a kid, or an adult dependent on a lousy parent or child... you give them the benefit
We must take care of the kids, even if parent deserves a swift kick...oops, not sounding too caring there, am I?
well, it gets hard if a parent decides they can flaunt the rules and know you are forced to do what is best for the kid despite their lunacy
bbl
Yep, ongoing challenge. Dr Scrabbler's Orphanage would be overfull if funding were available.
And when weather is nice, like this week, no-shows abound.
Hi Scrabbler
Must go and get supper. Back soon.
I think I'll take that coffee break. Hi Scrabbler. Being retired one still is required to do lots of stuff. I like that.

gitel - se + latin name for flower in grid plus e plural
we have a holiday today for the Queen's birthday. Only it is not her birthday so it is just a good day for a parade
IT WAS WONDERFUL!!! (only three days) and exhausting, and a lot of work, but actually not bad. I love it. I really feel good when I have spent time in the classroom; I really feel nervous when I am with the suits who are faculty at our college (although I am not sure any of them actually own suits...)
oh! happy queen's un-birthday to you! LOL
relax. The suits can see how comfortable you are with the kids
thats interesting bug cos in the UK only the civil service gets a day off for the queens birthday
You must be kidding Kazz!
and thats next week after the bank holiday
thing is, when I have a child in front of me who needs help, I am pretty good at figuring things out. But when I have to talk about hypothetical children in the aggregate it doesn't mean much too me. I am a very concrete thinker, and resent too much high-brow theory nonsense.
We call this the bank holiday then. No more long weekends until our independence day on July 1
nope we get 8 bank holidays with 1 days for queenies birthday, 1/2 day for Maunday Thursday and another day at christmas
I used to worry about that too stid. I don't interview well but I can do the job so I stopped worrying and did as well as I possibly could on the practicums. It works
sorry about the typos, I have been writing a report all day, need to start on an assignment for tomorrow next...
thanks Bugs, I think that is what I needed to hear today!
We don't get anything for Maundy Thursday but government workers and schools get 4 days at Easter. Everyone else just gets Good Friday off.
you get religious holidays off? *mind boggles*
Take heart stid. You are a gift to the schools and they (even the suits) will see it
We do get Boxing Day off tho Kazz
U.S. only religious holy day off is X-mas and that's more because it's a traditional secular day.
You don't get Easter stid?
oh, the phone. brb
we get friday and monday off then 2 in may 1 in august, 2 at christmas and 1 at new year - they get an extra one then in scotland
i really like Easter cos is moves around
hi all
we don't get Easter off because it always falls on Sunday here
hi pini
hi vlcl ;)
in UK Easter Sunday is the only day when all the large shops have to shut - only small ones below a certain threshold are allowed to open
phantom: attache
todays puzzle is very trying!
I need 1 more for NBT
the lone I in the 4th column? is it a fish?
which letter>
yes, it'll make ya mad...

back 'twas Mother; and no, the U.S. doesn't have any Easter holiday really.
hey pini
hiya stid
Kazzer I remember you are a fellow Terry Pratchett fan. On line I found a site that sold Discworld stuff but it doesn't accept payment. Do you know of any other stores that carry that kind of stocking stuffer stuff for me?
pini, man's name...
ooh! I found the "bottom" word! LOL
That is often my last word stid
man's name? doesn't that one come from the other H?
he 6/7
* thinking *
well, up to 60. need to play with Dog before rain begins, and then write the last essay for the one task and start on another task... so much to do, so little time to do it in.
he 6/24, 7/36
got it!
enjoy your day stid
~:-D
take care, stid
crud...back to work for me...thx for the clues all!
later pini
not really - i tend to go to the shop in Wincanton if i wat something special - also look in holiday knick knack shops that sell old odds and ends
*leaves choclits for remaining babblers* *poof*
ta mama
what is the name of the shop in Wincanton please
the Cunning Artificer
thanks. I will try looking that one up on line. I hope it is not one the one that didn't work
they can be quite expensive but Hilary is usual quite good. They sell models of the buildings - and they are rather expensive for most of the time
Sky is putting Going Postal on soon over here
I was looking for the cheaper things like buttons and fridge magnet etc.
Do you mean Going Postal will be on TV?
I will look and see what I can find and get back to you
Kazzer you are a gem!! If you could find stuff I would be happy to reimburse you.
Hi there everyone.
I will let you know when I found something - ooh and great big fat tortie cat has either just eaten my mousie friend or is eating the herbs
May I please have a clue for he6-27? Thanks

Got myself a new Netbook today - and finding it very difficult to get used to.

Its a Samsung. Just find the tiny keyboard very strage.
I have never had that kind. I had a gateway and it crapped out on me and now I have a Toshiba

Hi Nancy
howdy again nb;)
help with 2nd ta5/14 pls
hey there NB
just had some fun at work - laughing at all my English friends with their terrrible sunburn ;)
my grammy came over here for a vist in 77 or 78,poor thing ,it was july and she burnt to a crisp
nm
oh dear, crossy
it's an advantage of my ethnicity...I usually tan. Prefer to be pale and interesting though ;)
she said they never get that kind of sun and heat back 'ome
what kind of temperatures do you get in summer where you are, Crossy?
usually not much more than mid 80,s july-aug,but there have been exeptions with day in the mid 90,s f
did not realize it could get that hot where you are crossy
in my life here,i have felt as high as 97f and as low as minus 45f
clue for the first ha 4/6
both are rare though
thats the beauty here,such diversity
ouch! So around 30C odd. And minus forty!!
spring and fall are magical, and the winter or summer to come is a mytery till it happens
nb,below minus 40 as kids our mum taught us to breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth,or you could frost your lungs
we all had balaclavas and snow suits;))
that's craaazy. the only extreme weather I'm somewhat used to is monsoon season back home - once washed me straight off my feet and all the way down the super-long driveway when I was a kid ;)
i wnt through the ice on lake nippising when i was 7,aged my da 10 years in a single day
hello friends. cool phantom today: asshat
he 6/27 ???
that must of been wild,a monsoon
asshat :-)
aren't those also called depends trif?
bbs
oh my god, Crossy! that's scary..
ruru, he 6 is he + start of long neck animal.
thank you.
yw
well, I was pretty small, Crossy. Probably one of my first memories, that - I thought it was hilarious at the time, but my parents went crazy, because one second I was on the porch and the next I had just...vanished!
indeed, parents grey hairs are battle medals
hah! they should do a study...see how much being a parent can age a person. I couldn't be one - too selfish ;)
phantom" sasquatch"
you never think you can nb,till it happens then whammo! you become your parents lol
well I very much hope not to become my parents!
hello fellow babblers!
howdy mp:)
hey, MP :)
this one is not to bad...149 left...been lurking for a few
<*)))>{ whee! crossy made a fish:))
as you can guess ive hit my first babble wall/
LOL!!
{))))))))} a strip of bacon, just for you crossy
someone said bacon!
now here is a old saying my samuel clemmons that proves he was a man ahead of his time....
crossy...ur on a diet
"If voting made any difference they wouldn't let us do it."
ewww ;) although whilst you're taking food orders...I really, really, really, really, desperately want an apple.
an apple?? i have had it up to here with apples and oranges:((
I like that saying...and it's probably true!
how is the diet going crossy?
...tosses a bright crisp sweet apple to NB
nothing makes food taste so good as feeling virtuous when you eat it ;)
it is hard carlee;(
here is another good one...
"I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it."
I try to eat an orange everyday...it's my "southern california girl" roots kickin' in
i am sure it is crossy...
and here is a last saying for all of us...
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
so..how u liking our first taste of summer..on the may 2-4 weekend no less....i cannot believe how gorgeous it is
interesting one, Crossy...I'm sure the diet is hard. When I was getting over my eating disorder, I was being forced to eat what felt like vast quantities to me - a polar opposite but equally insufferable!!
carlee,we are invaded with citiots
right....that time
each one with a months worth of garbage in the car to litter our roads with,or their driving habits that try to kill us
here we just have siren after siren...idiot red necks getting drunk and doing stupid crap
crossy...that's similar to the saying..."and dance like no one is looking" very good advice in my opinion...
that as well carlee, our emerg is full to the brim
indeed mp
work going tobe insane tomorrow...our police dept had over 200+ calls...
some intriguing quotes, Crossy. My own favourite..."nothing makes one so vain as being told one is a sinner."
and of course my Cousteau - "a little bit too much is just enough for me". True, true, true. Too much of a good thing is simply wonderful ;)
ok...so all this talk and i am thinking about this sinfully rich choc cake on my counter
124 left gotta run hubby taking me to dinner...yippee! be back later!
i know how to kill the chog..mention choc cake
chocolate cake?
*slides plate to red*
*crunches apple virtuously*
mmmmm
i've been here, just gridding. and slug-like.
darn, so close to finding "casserole"
hmmm, very quiet this evening. Think I'll go find myself a glass of wine...
enjoy nb!
hello all -- 26 to go.
hi jilli
exactly halfway. bbl.
ohhh, hi Jill :) haven't seen you around in a while!
Hi NB -- I'm not usually on at this time of day (3:24 pm here)
Did you get your glass of wine, NB?
oh yes ;) there is generally one within reaching distance here!
re or white?
(not pink, I'll bet)
that was red or white, not re
LOL. Red this evening...but we are quite a pink wine household ;) though I should have gotten white; it's sooo hot...
Hot? Like what?
pink is good
some pink is good.
hi ruru
red will work in a pinch NB....
ga jili
why isn't chai accepted here?
hello again all, I am coming up from chocolate cake.
we have a heatwave Jill! and after neglecting to keep us warm all winter, our flat has now turned into a sauna...
hi red. That bathing suit makes itself look fat ;)
well, what rates as a heatwave in jolly old?
We've been having a cold wet wave here :(
yes Jilli, it is the sad adventure of oredering a "grab bag suit." I wore it today. felt conspicous.
help with 1st er6/21 pls
er6 is pl of previous word
haha! it's been about 33C here in London - not bad at all ;)
33 is warm!
ok, that rates :)
sheesh, ty jilli and it is my niece' name, had the singular
what is a grab bag suit?
we are only at 30 today...lots of clouds
Peri, you send them 20.00 and they send you a suit of their choice in the proper size. Normally that suit would cost about 65.00
usually I get one that is sort of purple, but this one was a zinger.
what company, never heard of that, red
You can get them through the finals, or through speedo, or TYR. I think a few more. Just google Grab Bag swimsuit.
I have been looking for a bating suit but I cannot stand halter tops and most of the ones I saw have them
I will, ty
you might actually like the suits from the finals, they offer what I consider an appropriate amount of cover in all areas.
bbl,. dinner
Did everyone have Nice days???
Might be fun to look at the Grab Bags anyway.
In store it is, on line, they dont give you a choice, just send something...
Did here Red :) all my pasty english friends have terrrible sunburn..*sniggers* how about you? good day?
Actually, this day has turned out to be much nicer than the weatherperson predicted.
OK..I've joined up...but where are the instructions for playing?
I had a very nice one, sat in a new hospital orientation all day and things look good, for my future there.
Hi montezuma -- have a look at Help just above the chat.
Montez, look at the help box, this is sort of like boggle and sort of like scrabble...
ohhh, glad to hear it, Red! well, here's hoping it's a good omen :)
thanks...I see it!
yes, I am feeling much happier so far., even with the disasterous swimming ensemble.
That's great, red! So you can stay put for a while?
I am hoping that this will be my last job ever....they have a nice retirement plan and I love the area.
LOL! talk about disastrous swimwear...a tip for men: never wear white swim trunks. NOTHING is left to the imagination!
men and women, NB, that is very very good advice.
I had a white 2-piece suit 50 years ago, but it was a heavy material and not transparent. Snazzy at the time.
I thought, well, you know, I tan, so they'd look good next to my skin. And they did, until I got wet..
Sure hope that works out for you, red!
Oops, that was 60 years ago!
hi everyone - glad to hear you had a good first day on the new job, red
jilli, i got married in a a white pants suit (with bell bottoms!!) :-)
ditto, red, so glad the new job is a success!
I'm very pleased, thanks everyone!
Oh No NB....those trunks are for show only not actual swimming....unless you want to make a real show.
une you must have looked cool. We need to have a "your wedding photo" ICON day, even If I dont have one...I can post one from the internet.... lol
that would be VERY amusing! LOL
great idea, red -- send it to sprite!
at least it was on a beach. plenty of topless women and guys in speedos, my cute little bum wasn't the centre of attention for too long ;)
I think it would be really fun to see everyones wedding photos. My Parents did the Justice of the Peace thing, and have no pictures.
where was this beach, NB *reminds self to avoid it*
LOL Jill! Before moving to London, I used to live in Brighton, so my friends and I spent a lot of our summers on the beach there...unless I was packed off to Korea!
jilli, it also sounds like the Riviera!
They go topless on Brighton beach? My, how times have changed.
We lived 10 miles from Brighton in 1939-40.
oh yes, you get some brave souls! Ugh, 8 Mile is on TV. Doesn't that have Eminem in it? Gross.
i thought it was a good movie!
near a village (hamelt) called Twineham, Sussex.
(hamlet)
never seen it Une, but I hate, hate, HATE Eminem.
check out the lyrics to his song 'Criminal' and you'll see why *rolls eyes*
well, i saw it a LONG time ago but remember being surprised that it was good
oh Jill, that's so cool! nice to think of that :)
Eminem = unnecessary obscenities (to me)
and the actress who played his mother was very good in it . . .
I don't mind the swearing...the homophobia is an issue. Like I say, the song "Criminal"...it's foul
wow, just looked it up -- that was Kim Basinger!
i can certainly understand, NB -- didn't watch it 'cause I was a fan of his music . . .
guess not. If I saw him I'd say...silly white boy ;) play him at his own game.
I don't really know much about Eminem -- just that a little girl about 10 came into the library to get his lyrics off the internet, left her treasure with us at the desk while she got some money -- it contained words like motherf***er. Charming.
knew very little about him at the time -- that was back in '02
4 to go -- all he6, 7, 8 words :(
Anyone have he6/24?
*now NB is picturing me rapping around the house to Eminem tunes!*
he6/24 was in the grid a few days ago -- man's name
character in Greek mythology
more treats Jill: "My words are like a dagger that'll stab you in the head whether you're a fag or a lez ... pants or dress, hate fags, the answer's yes ..."
LOL Une!! Not quite!! ;)
:-D
ty une (and sweet pic of your dad and grandmum).
ugh, NB!
who said this NB?
tx, jilli -- such a nice surprise to find it :-)
hey, ruru :-)
Eminem, Ruru. charming man..
worthless crap from an idiot
Now for the grand finale -- he7/32 and 8/45 please!
Hear hear ruru.
he + cons + what you breathe + vowell
add a second vowell to the end for the 8
he + the dog wagged his ***l + sun god
add vowel for plural
people like eminem are dangerous and worthless
he's a druggie too
* * firewords * * and thanks to ruru and une!
yay, jilli!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And now I have to tourn on the TV for the Canadiens hockety game or my son will boil me in oil.
enjoy, jilli!
good for you, Jill!
(turn on for hockey, although hockety is rather cute)
and you're right, Rurul. Mind you, you don't really hear much about him anymore, so hopefully he's just vanished.
indeed, jilli :-)
Rurul? alright ;) *Ruru!
Horrible rendition of O Canada by some blonde.
what is dangerous is that young stupid punks who listen to him go out in gangs and beat up people they think are gay because of his stupid music (if you can call it that)
ro 5/14 please
Same blonde murdering God Bless America...
tween the legs - c
Said blonde wearing the Flyers shirt.
heard a great dumb blond joke the other day
thanks sev.. finally got it
Go ahead, ruru :)
(Habs score!)
I like Eminem's music!!!!!
a dumb blond comes into a doctor's office and goes into a room. .. the doctor comes in and asks her" why are you here".. she says to the doctor.."I hurt all over"... THe Doctor says "What to you mean?"..Can you point to where it hurts...
careful, mm!! I made the mistake of saying I thought 8 Mile was a good movie!
I wouldn't mind the music if the lyrics weren't so anti-gay - not my kind of thing, but you know, I could listen to it. But...*sigh*
I thought 'Stan' was an especially well-written song....
she says in a babyish voice..(pointing to her arm) it hurts here... then points to her left thigh and says.. it hurts here too.. and then her right arm and says.. it hurts here too.. and finally to her chest and says .. it really hurts here too..
The doctor thinks for a minute and says... well ... you have a broken finger...
LOL!!!!
yw ruru
well Movieman, the song I find offensive is "Criminal", so I guess we can just agree to disagree on that one :)
any music that incites violence. I won't listen to
I think we just have to accept that rap and hip-hop music has evolved
And I enjoy Eminem's music, and it never incites me to violence
Good evening - this is quite unusual to have only men in the chog - helloooo boys
hey, mom!!
oh just saw you there Une
maybe not you movieman, but gaybashing is hardly a dying art form..
LOL, Mom. hi! :)
hey NB - how are you doing - hanging in there?
very true, NB -- one of the oldest clubs here had to close down a couple of years ago due to violence in the parking lot after shows :-(
se 7/28 please .. the first one..
It is now barefoot weather and I think toerot should be a word.
hey, kaplan ;-)
gaerr
gaer
oh, wow, Dobie Gillis!!
gaOOPS
I was just growling.
I'm doing well thanks, Mom :) getting impatient waiting for Leo to get back though!! boring here alone
Not fishing.
LOL Kaplan ::)
Yeah- Dobie and Zelda>
anyone have the first se 7?
Is Leo quiting with you NB?
hold your horses - I got it
ruru, it sounds kinda like a knife with a ragged edge
just add an extra vowel
3/4 of se4/4 + vowel + consumed food
thank you.. i got it
quitting with me, Mom?! no, he's just away working!
se*ial killers are not appropr****house guests
cool!
...errr, you meant smoking, didn't you.
<< I think I am getting dumber.. these grids lately have been harder for me
ggood clue!
I did NB
I am a cereal killer.. does that count?
me too -- with fresh strawberries! :-)
I am dying of the heat tonight - it is still 84 outside but 90 inside - no breeze and 80 % humidity
sounds like here, mom -- but I have AC pumping!
we dont have AC - dont usually need it - the air is so still - oooo, the still before the storm....
NB your answer - is Leo with you in this challenge
Hi all. How are the Babblers tonight?
evening, wht!
Hello wht.
Hi wht - doing well - just passing through myself
Darn, Flyers scored so it's a 1-1 tie.
Does someone have a clue for the ai6? It has been bugging me all day.
oh sorry Mom, went to refill my glass :) well, with annoying smugness, Leo quit several months ago. He did sooo well, just went completely cold turkey.
what you breath with a superlative ending
ai6 -- most what you breathe (dumb word)
relaxing oxegen
oh good NB - it will make it much easier for you
ty mnh.
my husband changed his mind and has not quit - taunting me - hah fooled him.......
well, because he's done it, now I have to ;) or he'll win!
there is no winning losing NB - in the long run it is really for you
I have ts (wounds) can I have a clue for the other?
shame on your hubby, momneeds!
change the last vowel ruru

lol, red!
hello all
hi red, it is your turn in scramble
hey, peri!
what does a bathing suit have to do with Pentecost
hi peri
Bon Soir, Une
well, ruru, it's the colour of flames
hey Jilli
well, it's kinda Pentecost colors
oh.. does it come with snakes?
I have been fighting with my computer - just put a picture of my daughter in prom dress on icon - check out profile - it kind of squished it though
snakes?
snakes?
like the religion jilli.. just being silly
oh oh so sorry, this past SUnday was Pentecost SUnday for Episcopals, not like the Pentocostal church....
I then changed my icon to reflect the poor choice I made in purchasing a grab bag swim suit.
they talk to snakes....
and do other weird things
hey same colors as my daughters prom dress red
do they actually talk to snakes, or just handle them?
pretty girl and pretty rhododendron, mom!
like listen to eminmen records backwards...
aaaccckkk
The day isn't the same as the sect, ruru.
indeed
thanks - I thought she was stunning - picture does not do her justice
she does look great in the pic Mom needs. I love the color of ther dress.
momneeds, if you crop the picture square it won't be squished.
I agree with red -- gorgeous girl and dress
I'll get right on that jilli - only after you tell me how - thanks for the compliment
clue for he 7/32
He + fancy crown but reverse middle vowels
momneeds, I have this posted in my profile: To resize big photos and/or crop to a square for use as an icon, see http://www.shrinkpictures.com/ or http://www.shrinkpictures.com/creat e-a vatar/
I could do it with the swim suit, but I need to change that out soon, as I will be seeing it all summer....
thanks jilli - I just posted it in mine so will work on that
firewords and i'm off to watch the finale of "24" -- enjoyed the chog! *poof*
good night une -see you tomorrow
congratulations Uneax!!!!!!!!

It is the scrubby forest near the tundra.

Hi rbud.
Hi rbud
rbud, I love that icon.
what, this old thing? ;p thanks!
I only say that because I'm here so infrequently these days, that I haven't changed it in forever.
it is pretty rbud..It almost looks like a quilting square
Does anyone need any clues before I go off to watch the Celtics?
wht, why bother watching, we know the outcome.
is the ae7 an ae4 word?
yes harry
Sorry Red. I have to watch. I don't think the Celtics will emulate the Bruins. But do do want to see the first quarter anyway.
ty boo got it
Oh they will stomp the poor magic less magic, something has happened to these poor Magicians. I still lvoe them...

yw
missing the last se 6/7/5...any clues?
Red, it does look as though the leprechaun stole the magic.
that nasty leprechaun!
Well, we had a shot and they blew it, so next year.
se + Spanish for red
Spanish for red is actyaly not in the grid but a spanish name for a red flower is.
That is how I feel about the Bruins. (and the Red Sox, most years)

Oops killed chat. I found the volcano. and am now showing off my loud suit dancing again in PB with the cabana boys.

clue for sa 5/12
the flowers that bloom in the spring, tra la - singing along with red
It might be more of a game tonight, but I still want the Celtics to complete the sweep!! Go Celtics!!1
hi jbv, and Boo bear I do not have it.
sa 5 - same ending as ta 5 - tundra
Minski, I am of course for Orlando. Our little O to** needs something to cheer for. Boston has like, paul revere and all that history.
gist
Boston is keeping it very close though...
thanks jbv.
JBV, I meant to ask you how is your Husband doing?
oops... sorry.
Its ok minksi, I almost forgive you for being a Celtics fan...
more or less the same, thanks for asking, red - his biggest complaint right now is hip and back pain - undergoing some tests to see if it's more than just sciatica..... other than that we just carry on with his chronic issues - we've adapted
JBV that sounds fairly settled, hope if it is siatica, it stops flaring.
they have got to take JJ reddick out of this game. the man hails from Duke and I still say he has no game.
sorry when its close I get excited but Pam is not here to "watch with me"
hi everybody. How are you all tonight? (And how's the grid?)
Nef! Hi, how are yo and Husband doing??
hi everyone!
back so this grid can beat me up again;(
I guess you can say he's settling in for now. I'm just very tired
hi nef! grid wasn't too bad.
oh nef. Hugs nef.
hi Mr. Hair.
and lbd.
thanks, lbd. I'll start then; on your word! :-)
lol@mr hair
crossy, are you saying this one's tough?
i am in the last 1/3 and fighting
(((NEF))) hi red, hi crossy
thanks for the hugs, red.
howdy ibd
Hi ibd
thanks, lbd.
Hi, all
Pam! What a surprise.
hi pam
hi pam
hi boo.
RED! Nef! Boobear!
Nice icon, red
its my new bathing suit Pam!
I wore it today...people did look.
Love it!
does everyone see that the Magic have a Marginal lead over the Celtics?
I 'STILL haven't been in the pool
Yes, we see that. . .
I like the suit, red; it's very nice
Nef, you are very very kind.
hi pam!
Even JJ Redick scored a few points at the free throw line, which is rare for him.
LBD!
how ya doing? it's been ages since i've seen you!
Don't get too excited RTH. There are 3 more quarters. It's a long game and it isn't over 'til it's over. GO CELTICS!!!
I know, LBD. I lurk from time to time. All
well, though
I haven't gotten the groove back to chog, LOL
oh the celtics will win, but the point is that this time, they are actually playing a decent game. And since I live in Orlando...I' m a fan.
well, lurking is okay, but you need to pop in occassionally to at least say hi!
I will, LBD!
I know, red, but i want them to take tonight's so they get a decent rest. Doesn't seem like it will be easy, lol
Pam, did you see that play? Nice one.
Yes
I haven't even been here for 2 weeks, having trouble just reading chog tonight!
Nef, I am so glad to see you, been following your situation on facebook.
swore
no need to do that now nef.
LOL! Same old me, isn't it? Entering words in the wrong box AGAIN! Sorry!
just give me one I am missing!
LOL, Nef
Yes, nef, I, too have been following and sending white light.
DH is my love of my life (AND a great cook!) I just wish there was some way to fix everything back to how things were a month ago
oh nef.
I appreciate all of the support from everyone. One thing about having hubby ill is that I haven't had time to think about my work: We've had our hours and salary cut in half due to economic reasons (non-profits don't function well without and cash)
UGH, Nef. You are getting it on all sides.
yuck...
Red, what and where is your new job? I am relying on facebook, and it's not adequate, LOL
you could come work with me.
its the same Pam, ER but 2 mins from my house and better pay and such, I feel like it was a good move...
Oh, great!
red, I couldn't live down south. You have snakes and big bugs there!
Well true, the bugs are interesting.
so this is a better workplace too?
oh the heck with it I am babbling
he 8?
hi jmc
Hi, JMC
Seems to be Nef, so far every nurse who has worked there that I have met (from the Emergency) has said they liked it fairly well.)
Aren't we all jmc?
Oh Oh celtics score. Its that short JJ redick. he needs to not be in there.trying to guard those huge men.
that's good. Did you ever hear from the other job (infection control, or was that someone else?)
crossy.s song of the day http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keIvA2w SPZc
Nef, I'm sorry life is ganging up on you from all angles. I'm glad that we babblers can offer you some relief.
he8 is an ancient greek courtesan
yes, rejection....I really dont have the experience they think they can recruit.
nef i am sorry to hear about DH hope you are holding up well
thanks lbd.
thanks, Minski. Babblers are like old friends. This site is so supportive to people; I don't think that there is another open site like this anywhere else
howard scored!
whoo hoo howard
thanks jmc! I am a little outnumbered by Bostonians.
this site is unique and i am glad it is here
well you rooted for the Nationals for me!
I'm sorry, red. I bet you'd be great at it if givien a chance
amen to that!
Well, Nef, I am not entirely sure I could adjust to a 9-5 day. Today I sat in a chair all day long, now my entire body feels terrible, even after running and swimming the kinks out.
sokay red,ive never even seen boston ;)
thanks, jmc.
boston is a lovely to** crossy -- I lived there for a month while hubby was in Mass General
And I agree with you crossy, this site is unique. (BTW, I like your song of the day too)
actually i have never been to the states, may have to look into it sometime,i hear maine is nice
ty nef
maine in SUmmer is awesome.
there are lots of nice things in the states as in Canada
the only reason I don't come to Canada is that they stop me at the border every time since 1976 and I am tired of it
problem with songs, once i get going it is hard for me to stop....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dipFMJc kZOM
red, after 40 years of working eves and nights; I'm now 1 1/2 years into a DAY job (with clinic days starting at 6AM!) and believe it or not I couldn't sleep in past 9AM the other day!
jmc, what did you do in 1976? They won't let you OUT of the USA or Canada won't let you IN?
Canada stops me and it all started in 1976 when I went to visit my sister after my bil left her on her second son's first birthday--with the kids
that is B-I-L
happy my EX-bil
and why do they stop you?
what an effing jerk
different reason every time but I have traveled over . . . . 6 times and 6 times I have been stopped.
carting body parts across the border probably wasn't a good idea.
lol lbd do you think that was it? -- wish I had thought of it
clue for the second st 5
what really took the cake was him finally "agreeing" that she could see the kids and him spending the time trying to convince me my sister was a bad mother
you shoulda just dropped him in the river and made it look like an accident. ;-0
turns out after all was said and done and he got custody of one of the kids, he abused him
DAMN!
some times are very trying for a person who doesn't believe in the death penalty
what you climb to get to heaven
What an A**hole!! I hope he is rotting in jail.
Sometimes you have to believe that there IS a *special* place in Hell for people like that
alas he is not -- but Canada gets to keep him because the US wont let people practice clinical psychology with only a masters and he could never get a doctorate
Nef, Well, they actually have a position open now that is clinic hours, some sort of head of some type of Quality...
doesn't like gotcha
we only found out after the fact when her now adult son (the younger brother who left with her) told us what his brother told him.
hi rob
are you going to apply, red?
oh no, I am going to be a good Doo-Bee in the ED for a bit and then see what I can do.
very true, rob
hmmm does it look bad for nurses to switch to often in a short period of time? I have no idea
Good idea, red
no one cares JMC. as long as you have the credentials.
here, good nurses are so scarce,we do not care how many other places they have worked!!
okay then!
also locally you get known, so everyone knows a bad apple...I went into orientation today and everyone I met of the 4 of us in the ED knew a variety of people I know, so we just sort of keep work pretty clean.
some professions job hopping looks bad
safari crashed when I tried to post to chog... grrr
oh pam...
job hopping in general looks bad, I think.
i am a big firefox fan
jmc, the thing with nurses is that we are sometimes a dollar a dozen to hospitals and sometimes pure gold. We need to find our place to shine and feel good. Someplaces can really be awful for certain types of nurses and others fit right in
well it clearly it is different for different professions so I was just being an inquiring mind
i'm going to go read for a while. see you all tomorrow!
firefox rules!!! lol
bye lbd
ciao, lbd
jmc, your ex-bil abused the kids then got custody of one/
pam, use Firefox. Safari is picky at times (but it's the only browser that works well for my bank --Go figure!
hard being a pacifist, ain't it? :)
I am missing one of the 2 TS words. I have the Yiddish word for suffering. Does anyone have the other one please?
I usually use firefox. But chog usually loads quicker with safari, nef, LOL!
bye lbd. Thanks for the support and well wishes
I want to go to bed but,,, the game is very exciting.
no he got custody of one and then abused him. He has mild torettes (sp?) so my bil the psych would lock him in his room for hours whenever he and bimbo would entertain
that is just wrong.
sorry the antecedents of the pronouns may not be clear
so how are we doing in the game red?
We are still winning, but its close.

Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!

ty nrkii
howdy nrkii and welcome to the pb ;)
will try to pick a more obscure word next time
well, nrkii, if thats how you feel, dont hold back.
it worked for me
this grid is not agreeing with me
but i think i will take your suggestion and take a break
*sc**ting*
i think I am actually going to bed.
my stats are starting to drop like hail, so I have started not to care again!
clue for to 8 please
to8 = having the property of turning??? (to6)
red, do you worry about stats? I fall off the bottom, then look again and work at it a while
I never bother to look at stats
it's me against the grid, today
that's sort of how I look at it too, nrkii
of course, today the grid is going to win
but that's okay, tomorrow is another day
i dont look at stats, but about 2 weeks ago I was up at 1020, and I got very excited. well, that only lasted a while....
evening all...
clearly I look at them. but usually I do nt care that much.
hi Pini
i had never been as high as 1020...so it fired me up to babble....LOL
hi pini
ok I am going to abandon the Magic. crossing fingers and toes, would love to have a few more games in Orlando...
Hello Pinikula! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
can I get another 7 clues so I can list, plz/thx?!
WOW, red! 1020 is cool! I'm going to have to go look and see how everyone's doing now
Hi Min
clues for the 2 8's?
and maybe 5 more 7's?
do I sound like I'm begging already?
Hello Boobear! How are you doing? Did you finish yet?
to6 that becomes to8? not getting either
to6 = a word that has to do with the physics of turning or twisting
to 8 to plus qu5/16
hrmph
I think I'm missing the qu5 being referenced
Pini, sorry, not able to help much in my state
to6 = rhymes with not spoon or knife
in your state? * wicked grin *
or M*** and Mindy
to8 builds on first 5 letters of to6
got one!
thx ;)
hi!
hi ru ;)
"nrkii, you have to explain what you meant by "in your state" since pini and my minds are trying to figure that out!" was not found in the dictionary
hi ruru
although I can only imagine what that "state" might be, nef! Perhaps we should ask her to share!!!
what was nrkii trying to clue?
to8...finally got it tho!
(I was in the wrong box again)
Nef, I love it when you say something isn't in the grid...and it consists of a whole sentence! :)
sorry, wandered away
still not getting that to6
nothing exciting about my state
just boggled by babble
I'm so good at this though! :-)
rhymes with pig meat, shirlockc
(not ham)
to + hook + e***** (think math)
TO + a pretty flower
but it's a 6/18 so no c
I get what is being referred to by the clues for to6 - but can't make that word as the appropriate vowel is in the right place... what am I missing??
T + boo boo s
k, got the to6 with that
change last vowel for 3rd 6
oh my god... I'm so sorry
I imagined that to6 (turning word) was there
sorry for what, nrkii?
ohhhhh!
it isn't, just the to8 that would build off my imaginary to 8
see
this is what I mean by "my state"
* giggle *
one of the to6 is another word for thrower
LOL - okay - NOW I follow :)
nrkii...I'd like some of what you're having!!! LOL
3 more to list!
so you weren't far off. it could be "to6" + turner
too much vino, nrkii?
as in having trouble sleeping
not enough vino, apparently
never enough vino
LOL!
bingo...1/2-way...to list go I
clue for th 5/12
anyone need vino.. pouring a nice pinot right now
oops meant th 5/14

Me too, Pini! My 152nd word.
Congratulations Boobear on your fireworks! Hooray!
gee, glad to be of such service!!! :)
no way for me... donated plasma today - I think replenishing fluids with vino would not be a good idea LOL
agreed, Cad. I'm going to donate blood next week myself!
ai6 anyone?
he6/27?
sorry, Scrabs; I only have the ai5/14
ai6 = most of what we breathe
good evening
he + first 4 letters of African mammal with LONG neck
Hi TnC
scrab! how goes it!
hegazelle
thx scrab
TY, Shirlock
good one ruru
Watching final Law & Order---*sob*
Ru--longer neck than that, silly boy!
Hi TeaNCrackers! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
herhino
hezebra
scrab - please tell me that my son will not go to high school in diapers.
*letting Ruru be creative*
How old is he now?
hehyena
4 - 5 in July
he is making me crazy. he just doesn't care
Preschool did it for my son... he had to be in with the Babies until he was trained... only took him 2 days once he figured that out.
I really didn't come here to bug you!
So, underwear go on when he wakes up, bring him to potty every 60-90 minutes, give him permission to ask for diaper for pooping. Clean up messes calmly--show no emotion. This is HIS responsibility.
will try that, I'm at my wits end
Does anyone have the 1st SE7 and the last SE5 please.
he is going to start kindy in the fall - he ahs to figure this out
starts out like a constant killer and past tense of eat se7
thank you, scrab
Thanks ruru.
Just tell him that you know he will solve the problem. It is HIS problem--he must decide to be independent + responsible for pee/poop in potty. No more diapers except at night and if he needs to poop and refuses to use potty.
TY, Ru
Does anyone have the SE5/18 please/
se + *** the boat
se + *** *** *** your boat, gently down the stream
Thanks. got them.
we will give that a try, our pedi told us to not worry about, just send him to school in pull ups and the other kids will make fun of him and he'll figure it out.
Hi Nerky!
hi scrabs!
Peer pressure helps, but diapers make it easy for him to not solve the problem.
how old is he tea?
almost 5, ruru
he is definitely my challenge!
wow..it is time for him to figure it out..
If kids are not trained by age 30 mo = toilet training resistance = control-issue with parent(s).
he definitely wants to be in control of everything!
(nods head)
I used to set the loudest timer in the house for 45 minutes after she went. Then I would make her go again. If she refused I would set it for 5 minutes and try again and keep trying until she peed then set it for 45 again.
We had frequent wars, but eventually it worked.
..and ambivalence about becoming a "big" kid with greater responsibilities...psychobabble, sorry, but a reasonable theory
to8? clued earlier as extension of to6 but not getting it ...
I think I potty trained pretty quickly as a kid
shirlock, that was my mistake
To 8 = Babbler To*gone + qu5
it is hard to be consistent with babysitting another kid, hubby is not on board/doesn't want to work at it, Tea is still in school, so lots of trips back and forth. I think we will hunker down when she is out of school and stay home until it gets handled.
I do not recall being toilet-trained at all.
hmm you both need to be on it.
my mom said that both my sister and I were trained at 18 months! Amazing!
thx scrab, finally got it
top right A is giving me fits
ao 6 nrkii
thanks, that was one of my missing 7
Just tell him: underwear goes on when you wake up; when alarm goes off (every 60 min)--> potty. If you need to poop you may ask for a diaper or use the toilet. If you make a mess you can clean yourself up---have clean undies + shorts/pants easily in access.
I feel like I've missed an obvious path from that tile
Letter H!
ai5, that is
thanks, that was another!
hello
thanks, scrab - great ideas.
hi harp
still missing those 2 (I think I'm a bit slow tonight)
hi harp
hi harp
Hi Jane
ai5 rhymes with what a chicken does to an egg
incubate? ;)
or rather how an chicken egg is born
darn, have that one
gotcha should be a word
Good luck TNC!! Just do it!
help with the ts words?
I said same thing in chat long earlier today, Nerky.
thanks, scrab - that helps
Really, TNC, NOW is easier than later. Get it done so that you can enjoy the summer.
it's both a full sentence (Oh, Gotcha.) and a noun (Yeah, that's a gotcha.)
what about being out and about?
*SOB* Last episode of Law & Order just ended.
oooh, maybe i should watch it, it's probably just coming on in this time zone
are all the spinoffs ending too?
we have so much planned for the next couple of weeks. then daddy is going out of town two days before school is out and will be gone for three weeks. I was thinking that that would be the ideal time, we can stay home, be non social and I am the only one working on it.
ts6:t + so 5/10 word harpjane. Don't have the other.
other is the same, just change last vowel
TNC--underwear--he MUST experience the inconvenience. Have a supply of clean undies + shorts/pants. Make him change himself--not you. When you clean him up he is allowed to be dependent, like a baby. Make him assume independence + responsibility.
thanks minver\
I am so overwhelmed with this right now and feel like I have failed somehow.
I think once he experiences a day or two...it'll be all downhill from there!
rest assured, you haven't failed!
And, TNC, be very matter-of-fact about it--show no disappointment. When he has success, say, "See, I knew you could solve this problem."
thanks, pini, I am just so disheartened right now
So get it solved now, do not let it be prolonged over the summer.
Laundry + carpet cleaning is way cheaper than continuing to use diapers.
alrighty then, tomorrow - unders!
Yes, he must experience the discomfort! Have piles of undies + shorts readily available. If he makes a mess tell him to go change and then you will do ______. Use the phrase "If ____, then ____."
we have unders, pants, the works. we can do this
He will do this with your teaching + leadership. Keep me posted!
thank you, I will!
me, too! :)
all will turn out well!
