Bowing to grem's unspeakable excellence
they're anagrams

hi dc
hi dc
One of them is one of the words in the title of a Blue Oyster Cult album
not familiar with their albums but thanks Douglas
one is a plural noun, the other is a singular noun
hi NBT
I seem to recall that it's the album with the song "Dominance and Submission" on it. That doesn't help, does it?
hi dc
douglas no but i have the plural
thx for the 8's folks
hi, andree, lovely photo of the grandkids

hope you're well, flosey
GOT IT

hi and nbt
hi josh
NY Mets third baseman Fernando Tatis is in the grid
I don't have to like this grid, do I?
lol, I'm with you there Douglas, not finding it very friendly
just started and chipping away
And my word count is inaccurate, because some of the words in my word list are from the previous grid, but some of the words I entered before the flip are words in this grid. Got that?
very strange Douglas
what happens when you send the words to lickety's clues
sounds like you're due for a good old fashioned hard refresh
but first copy and paste the words you have
just to be sure you don't lose everything
phant areic
I logged out, closed the tab, opened a new tab, and my non-word words are still there. But I'm pretty close to halfway, so I'm going to quit. Good night all
ah, sorry Douglas, but good night
Hi all -- just got here.
hi jilli, how did you do at bridge?
Hard to tell, flosey, but not very well, I think.
ah, Geo felt the same
You know -- you make a tough contract and find someone else made a bit more.
frightening monster you have there
yes, that is sooo annoying
Yes, lol -- the Google Images for "Monsters" were all cutesy-poo.
ah, didn't have time today

yup
www.pogo.com?
i only do the free games- too cheap to pay to play-lol
this is the only site i have eer paid for-lol
me too
your first glance told you the whole story jilli
took a while to break through!
Oh dear.
back after i've checked out pogo...
unless it's just that I'm quite tired
I've been trying to hurry through, not chatting much
very few babblers in earlier
gosh, hubby came in, said didn't think they did well, and off to bed!
hmf, that was abrupt!
We didn't encounter him and Paul.
J called, looking for a partner but guess P decided to go after all
evening all..just a quick look then off to bed
hi Barb
Hi Barb.

have never seen so few babblers in here
right from flip!
I wonder why!
has been very quiet
105 online! some who would normally be in the chat
just got that word, flosey -- thx for the mention of the L :)
thought that might help when you got there jilli
well, they may be online but not actually playing. Some said they were going to look at pogo.
do you want any clues?
Not ready for clues yet, flosey, thanks. I think you should be going to bed, right?
yes, although will sleep on the plane
I think Paul and George are touring the nursaries again after dropping me off
But you have to catch that ferry.
yes, the 9:50
I guess that's not too difficult for you -- would be for me!
I'm always up by 7 - 8 at latest
sleep better with these pills, has also given me pills for pain which really help
I try, but can't get up before 10!
Glad to hear it, flosey. Have the aquafit classes been helping?
am sure they are jill, but am always tired after - come home and sleep!
that's really why I've given up bridge for a while - I was falling sleep there
Well, you'll have a holiday from them.
That's a shame.
yes, going to be a busy one
I mean about giving up bridge.
Wy busy?
*why
yes, I hate to do that but also feel so badly if I blow hands
just getting around to see everyone
Gord's in Etobicoke, Dave's in Scarborough, friend in Aurura
I thought of going to Mtl and Tadoussac in early August but was shocked at the cost!
oh! do you fly West Jet?
Do you rent a coar or does someone take you around?
I am on their mailing list and they send bargain rates quite regularly
I can't drive in Toronto anymore jill, traffic is frightening
I haven't flown anything for years. The only flight to Bagotville (near Tad) is Air Canada.
Oh yes, I remember the 401.
401, 400, 404, then through the city!! ugly
you really have to know when you start, exactly where you're going
Well, does someone drive you, then?
but you also have to keep up with the pace - which is generally well over the limit
yes, there's always someone to drive me
Gord, Dave, Don (brother)
that's great.
Nice to have family.
also hoping to meet up with another old friend (actually an old bf of one of the girls) but we've remained friends, he use to come visit me in Aurora
sounds as if you'll have a great time.
yes, always do, jill
also have to meet sister and b-i-l - Don drives me to meet them - usually at David Duncan House, convenient and great food
sister comes over from Waterloo
well, I'm rattling on, should let you get at this grid
as I said, nice to have family!
Oh, I'm getting words as we chat.
oh, was Jacquie out tonight
no -- nor Boodie, but there were 6 full tables.
she had asked about Sandra's Dr. &. Ob/Gyn
The couple who spend the winters in Mexico were there, and Terry is back
can't think who winters in Mexico
George P and Judy B
guess I'd recognize them, just can't remember
You would recognise them, I'm sure.
oh, Boell and Pen.........(?)
yes
yes
well, I better get off to bed, try to wake refreshed
may not see you tomorrow night, remember, we'll be 3 hours later
morning all
but I'll likely be on inthe morning
hi sprite, and bye
yes -- we'll miss you! I know you'll have a great time, though.
bye flosey
yes, goodnight now
Hi sprite!
hi jilli :)
good monster, jilli, and great writeup!
Thanks! Yours is sweet! I still see your previous icon here though, but don't know what it is -- can you tell me?
it is a lily of the valley
Ah -- a close-up. I love them.
Oh -- just got over halfway (late start)
so do I. They are magic, made by poetic gnomes while we weren't looking, was my writeup yesterday :)
gratz!
Oh, lovely! We had lots at our other house (back east near Montreal) but here I'm having trouble growing them -- can't think why! All conditions seem right, but maybe the soil is too acid or something.
ty
when they do grow, they are like weeds, they pop up everywhere. I am not familiar with which conditions they need though :(
I have leaves popping up but they don't bloom!
that is odd.
yes!
googled a bit for you. It seems the soil must be poor for them to bloom. The richer the soil, the worse they bloom.
Ha! Maybe that's the trouble! Thanks!
my pleasure :)
I must tell my gardener -- we should move them, and I know where to.
perfect! They are so beautiful, it would be great if you could get the flowers back.
tyvm!
?
and always in shadow, but I think you already knew that
!
yes, that I knew.
?
hi lyn :)
Hello
hi lynxxx :)
hi evrybdy
hi evrybdy
hello malik
hello Malik
hi malik
thnx for replyn
sprite -- I sent you some icon ideas today -- did you see them?
np
today? No not yet, let me check my email, brb
can u help me sprite
my english is so weak. i hav ielts test on saturday
good ones, jilli! Will put them in today.
sorry malik, you've come to the wrong place. I suggest you ask a teacher.
Hope they will attract some participants!
tell me hw can i improv my speaking power
just chat to me
lol jilli, or not. We have a faithful crowd, some participants and some enthusiastic readers who don't chat much. Am fully willing to do it for the ones who are finding it fun.
oh btw, something I intended to ask you. I put in an icon theme about the numerals on houses. Do you call them house numbers, or house numerals, or something else?
house numbers
Morning/evening all House numbers spritey sprite.
hi FM :)
Good evening jilli!
thanks :) Hi FM!
Except in the UK they sometimes just have names -- or is that no longer the case, FM?
goodmorning FM
well, 47 left and I must head to bed.
No tis still the case jilli although here is always a number attached to the property even if not displayed.
HI there lynxxx :)
good job, jilli, and sleep well!
I am fascinated that England generally doesn't seem to have letterboxes - just slits in their doors
lol but yes that is the case lynxxx.
same way here in the Netherlands, lyn
and all over Europe too.
letterboxes are found in apartment buildings and flats, and in places where it is a long way to the door or where the door cannot be easily reached.
Good -- I like the names. I had to laugh at Coronation Street a while ago when Jack and his wife (too tired to remember her name just now) called their ghastly place The Old Rectory. We really did live in The Old Rectory, Twineham, and it was a real one.
They have letter boxes in France - good morning/evening all.
otherwise... it is just a slit in the door! Well, with a lid.
I suppose because the house lots are larger here and we dont have houses right on the street. Generalizing a lot. We would need a lot more posties
WE don't even have door to door mail delivery now.
Vera Duckworth.
We think of the free standing letterbox as a US thing.
hi Haz
heavens jilli - our postman comes every day.
of course, Vera. Royalty, too!
Hello Haz
Good morning Haz!
Hello! Vera had ideas above her station, that's for sure.
FM: the free standing one we only have where the house is far from the street or where the door cannot be easily reached. In those cases, as befits the Netherlands, it is mandatory to have a freestanding one...
We have groups of letterboxes every few blocks. Pain in the neck. Mine is up a hill.
We have no delivery on Saturdays or Sundays or any holidays.
My parents had the same thing when they lived on an island Jilli. Very exciting for visiting gran children to go and get the mail
Facinating what you can learn from babble!
no delivery on Sundays, and no collecting mail from mailboxes on Sundays either, so on Mondays there is hardly any mail.
What I'm describing is all over Canada.
No Sunday deliveries here either.
Our deliveries are like Canadas
true FM... especially that there isn't one true way :)
Do you still get delivery twice a day in the UK? It's only once here.
Just one daily delivery here as well.
only one here too
No only one a day now and the cost of postage has sky rocketed.
I know. Over 8 shillings for a first class stamp (old money!)
a 1st class stamp now costs £0.39 LOL Haz
I wonder how long before mail delivery and letters generally become defunct. I read that the UK is getting rid of cheques by 2012??
Is it not 41p, FM?
Big kerfuffle about that lynxxx but that is what 'they' are planning.
what do you mean by first class? 0 - 20 grams?
Our postage costs make little sense. It costs about the same to mail my book to Istanbul as to the USA. For the former it goes as a Small Packet, but to the US it doesn't and the rate is higher.
what is a second class stamp
They're talking about getting rid of cheques by 2018, I think, but there have been protests. Lots of shops no longer take cheques.
oh you are right Haz.
A second class is 32p I think, just means that your letter might take longer to get there.
I have written 1 cheque a year for about the last 4 years
Very interesting but I must head for bed -- zzzzzzzzzz.
First class stamp means that they will treat the letter as priority, second class less haste, no speed.
night Jilli
Nighty night jilli.
we don't have that choice. One kind of delivery only. If you want it faster, you need DHL or another delivery service.
sweet dreams, jilli
1st class is supposed to mean next day delivery withink the UK
Good day/evening/whatever, all! *poof*
We pay extra for Priority/Overnight delivery (you buy special envelope) otherwise no 1st/2nd class
Good night, jillibus.
our mail service says: post in time today, and it is delivered tomorrow. But we do not give any guarantee.
We have 1st and second class and also special delivery which guarantees next day delivery. You have to pay a fortune for that one.
I think all the online purchasing is going to be the savoir of our Post Office - and of couriers generally. Deliveries for those purchases seem more frequent than ordinary mail. Are at our house and neighbours anyway!
savoir! how do you spell that, mental blank
Yes, delivery for any online purchase seems to be very efficient, especially Amazon.
saviour
Back in a mo, need to go opens some more windows.
Or savior if you're American.
exactly like you do, if you mean knowledge, lol. If you mean the thing to save them, it is saviour.
TY better get myself back Sunday school
Poor FM is going to run out of windows to open soon.
helllooooo
Helloooooooooo. And how are you?
adap5, arteries, Seoul. Thanks, I had to get that off my chest.
hi Ata
Hello Ata & Sily & Hobbit (who hardly ever gets her picture on anymore)
Yes, if I were Hobbit, I'd be miffed.
awww poor Hobbit! Let me find one!
may I remind you that it is Monster Icon Day... your pets might get really miffed if they are put up today!
She'll be weeping into her bonios. 'No purple collar! No pics! She doesn't love me any more! Waaaaaah!'
I'm an enthusiastic non-participant in the ic4 themes.
and not even any decent walks - all she wants to do is sit around with a strange boot on
I know. Hobbit might apply to be adopted.
I took some really really cute pics of her the other day. And yes, she has an *awful* life at the moment!
She can send her CV into the paper. 'New home needed. One which pays attention.'
did you get any instant feedback on the MRI Ata?
it was just a friendly joke, actually
no, I was meant to go into physio today, but I ache soo badly from marching around Canterbury yesterdya that I might ask if I can have a day off and go in on Wednesday instead
we know, Sprite :P
thanks Ata :)
I know, sprite, didn't mean to annoy you at all.
thanks Haz :)
Morning Ata, sorry you are so achy :(
Ata, I knew you'd be overdoing things as soon as you could. Good idea to give it a day of rest first.
She's obviously furiously searching through for the cutest photo of Hobbit she can find.
she should :)
We've pricked her conscience.
I have some lovely pics of Hobbit cavorting and gamboling.
She is a well photographed little dog!
soon there will be pics from Hobbit sitting on your creamy couch ;)
She had better have clean paws that day :)
am sure Ata will take care of that
:)
bath tub before the door!
lol
Hobbit has always been pristine when visiting with me.
thought as much. Pets with good owners are a delight to have around.
she just covers me in black hairs which is totally acceptable.
lollll Terra would never do that. Not in black hairs.
(Glancing round to see if Spangle is pristine)
and sproings around the place and give great kisses and wags a lot.
Spangle is, no doubt.
there, finally!
though perhaps she would be even more pristine when you would visit FM and her creamy couch ;)
At last! We thought you'd run off with the postman. Or lumbered off.
hobbit? pristine? I suppose it happens occasionally :D
awwww sweet!
Ah, but Spangle wouldn't go onto the creamy couch. She's a stay on the floor dog.
Am sure that Spangle is pristne too esp in the paw area as she spend much time with the arranging and sorting out and so forth.
new laptop ... no photo editing software on here yet ...
good job, Haz
Indeed, as we speak, the Arranging Of The Paws (morning) ceremony is taking place.
Can I change my icon then Ata to a bouncy Hobbit?
of course!
OK brb
We're being awfully forebearing in not sending certain people to the PB for continued misdemeanours with ic4....
Or is it forbearing? I'll have to check.
Forbearing, I was right - or wrong.
My father was fond of saying that two bears should live in any married household. Bear and forbear.
very wise
what a nice saying
Wasn't it? I didn't really understand it so much when I was younger but after 28 years of marriage, it's clearer now.
oh I went off to the PB all by myself right away. Can I come out then? After I finish my coffee and croissant?
As long as you promise to be good, sprite.
OK ic4 changed.
That's a great pic!
I can promise to do my very best
FM that is lovely! Sproinging and flapping those ears and amidst all those flowers!
yay sproingy!!
:)
There was a better pic of Hobbit on the beach but the PC didn't want to play :(
A lovely pic FM. Are those wildflowers?
you would have to ask that of Ata lynxxx as I was not there unfotunately.
yes, a local field
They look like poppies from here.
but I would guess they were.
And cornflowers?
amazing...England is quite beautiful for its trees and flowers
yep!
It's not a sight you see so much any more because of intensive farming methods. We have walks near here which are specially planted with wildflowers, it looks wonderful when they're in bloom.
England will always be my home despite economic times etc it is such a wonderful lush and leafy island.
this one is completely natural, a local farmer is very good with his crop rotation and leaving fields fallow
Well done to the farmer!
The ancient history of the land is amazing
fireflies. Leaving you ladies to it, have fun, and Ata, all the best! Try not to overdo it? ;)
I was meant to go to the hospital today for physio, but I'm sooo tired and achy after getting there and back yesterday that I just managed to reschedule it for Thursday morning. Very grateful
I'm actually watching a gardening show planting out a new garden. All mulch, rocks, grasses and drought tolerant shrubs/trees. Very nice but not the same
Good morning, just popping in before doing two trips to Tescos!
Bye Sprite.
Bye Sprite, congrats!
for example, England is the only place (I think) where wild bluebells grow still and they only grow in ancient woodland areas.
hi Caitlyn
Ata how is your leg?
Two trips to Tescos? What awful thing have you done that condemns you to two trips to Tescos?
Good morning cait!!
We've got wild bluebells!
hi and bye caitlyn!
yay for bluebells!
Congrats spritey sprite.
Congrats sprite, hi and bye
I bought my mother 1,000 bluebell bulbs. Rotten english immigrants (rabbits) ate them all
Oh dear lynxxx !
Honestly, you can't trust a rabbit, can you?
I love all the spring flowers especially bluebells
With apologies to all rabbit lovers.
cue crossy coming in with a rabbit recepie.
just hope Scrabs does come in soon.
I am copying Atas smugness,I have now lost 3stone 9 lbs! Smugness is good lol
Oh, well done, caitlyn!
Gah typing has gone again, apologies.
wonderful, Cait!!
OH WTG cait that is brilliant!!!!!!!
VERY well done Caitlyn. Is that it or do you want to lose more?
I will carry on with heathy eating and see where I end up
Not like Posh Spice, is my profound hope.
You will now be our new pin-up girl
LOL never to both those statements
Ata how is your leg now?
BBS Stew wants a bounce
aching!!
has Fergie managed to extricate herself from her latest mess yet?
Yes, if you get to a weight that you can maintain and where you feel comfortable, then that's great. It's probably as much to do with how you feel in yourself as any target set.
((((Ata))))) hope you feel better soon
I don't know how she's going to extricate herself from this one. She hasn't got much sense, has she?
not a lot, no ....
I have finally managed to loose the weight I gained after my daughters birth...........39 years ago
Fergie is her own worst enemy, I have always liked her though
Slow but steady wins the race, caitlyn. A marathon rather than a sprint, for sure!
me too, cait
I think she's one of these people for whom there would never be enough money. She spends without thinking of the consequences.
Is she from a monied background?
HAve to love and leave you all. TTFN.
hello and bye FM
Bye FM see you soon, take care
And the moral of the story is, if you find yourself in a hotel room with a man offering bucketloads of cash, start looking for hidden cameras.
Bye, FM.
just had a terrible haircut in a new place; I'll be lucky if I don't get bugs! I am shaking!
Hi ruby, what made it so bad?
1. Go and wash your hair and use plenty of conditioner. 2. Style it the way you like. 3. Remember it will grow again. 4. You can buy cheap wigs.
she kept me waiting more than 1/2 an hour and the place was diry!
the cut isn't that bad, but the place gave me the creeps!
I hope you didnt leave a tip
I didn't!
ata: how was your MRI?
anybody: how was ata's MRI?
fine fine!
Good morning everyone. Glad to see grid is a more manageable size today :-)
Ata's being very slow in replying these days. She hasn't got results back yet.
oh, I can't believe that li** is in the puzzle
Hi Sally
Good morning, Sally!
hello sally
how is your leg?
sorry, I was making tea!
you have certainly mae my husband happy
I must go and do the dreaded shop.see you later, bye for now
It is? Haven't started grid.
bye caitlyn
lol ruby, you should be careful how you word that remark!
Bye caitlyn, hope it's not too terrible.
it's ok, ruby. achy after a long hike to hospital!
sally, I'm not worried!!!
Do they not have out-patient ambulances for you, Ata?
I wish!
When I had regular hospital treatment (hydrotherapy) once Ata, I got a hospital car. Just asked my doctor.
It just occurred to me the other day that it was strange that you'd have to make your own way to the hospital.
if I lived in CAnterbury, I probably could, but I don't. I even live in a different borough!
They sometimes have volunteer drivers to take people for dialysis/regular treatments. I think it's through the Red Cross, although they do charge a fee.
Might be worth asking your doctor though. I asked and got! Couldn't walk more than a few steps at the time so couldn't drive, and husband at work.
good point!
Absolutely - sometimes if you don't ask, you don't get and they're not always good at giving information unless you go enquiring.
It's terrible that you had to walk so far. The way the new hospital in Annecy is laid out, one has to walk great distances from department to department. It's all horizontal and on only 3 levels, rather than vertical like a (normal) hospital
Pretend to be a traveller! You'll get whisked to the front of the queue.
Helo
Hello, herin.
hello herin
or, here, an Arab
Ata how did it go?
i booked my physio for 9am. Am going to see if husband offers to take me ...... what do you reckon?
NM I read back
Tell him to take you and not be a bourke. The back seat is awesome for sprawling out
Can you perfect a pleading look, a la Hobbit wanting a walk? That might do the trick.
what's a bourke?
can Hobbit drive?
A person that is a Twit (I probably spelt it wrong)
She's been banned for speeding.
tell him it is doctor's orders that you get taken!
I think I would spell it burk (or burke?)
even with that pleasing look? It used to work with highway patrolmen when I was younger....
ha not even a hint of an offer
Or berk?
Burke & Wills (Australian explorers ) - a dill. Rhyming slang
how about bjerk -- sort of a portmanteau word
hi lynxxxx
Or Burke and Hare, the Edinburgh grave robbers.
Is that an Icelandic singer who looks an idiot?
Hi Sally & Ruby & Infernal
Hello.
hahah
That's Bjork. And the volcano has apparently stopped erupting.
Well all in all it is Cockney
hi lynxxx, herin everyone
the lighting was so bad in the hair salon that I looked like I'd been dead a long time, just didn't have the courtesy to fall over!
hoorah for the volcano
Hello back
I know that's Bjork, Haz, was a play on words that sadly fell down a black hole.
Me: I have a 9am appt! him: that's nice!
Although they say it could go again, but for now it's just producing steam.
jbourke, jberk, etc. to him.
No Ata, that's the wrong technique. Just tell him you have been told not to use public transport again because of the strain on your leg.
You - sn will you please take me, it's very hard to manage by myself. Him - Of course! Anything for Einstein's granddaughter.
Meanwhile, Hobbit nods in approval and Sily grins.
Dear Mr Ata tell him that he is a dick and demand he drive you OR take the keys and say ''see you later'' and see what happens. If he lets you go take the keys and call a cab
that would actually be You - sn will you please take me, it's very hard to manage by myself. Him - take a taxi!. Me: *takes a taxi*. Him: OMG! You spent money! WHINE ANGST!
how about: If I'm too tired after the appt, you will have to do the grocery shopping and cooking yourself AND we might have to go out for lunch!
and also take all the batteries in the house so he has no remote
You're very keen on not letting people have remotes.
the remote thing is a good idea, see Sally's "hemote" of yesterday
Yes. It is really irritating trying to turn a channel or play a dvd with out a remote. And take the car keys so he can't go any were.
On Thursday morning just ask him to call you a cab. When he protests ask how else you are going to get there
also good idea about the keys AND taking a taxi, wouldn't have thought of that one!
Honestly, if he doesn't want to take you, there's no point in racking up the tension. Just accept that it's not going to happen and order a limo.
I could also say take his bank cards so he doesn't have access to money ether
A stretch one.
with a pool boy along
So you can stretch your leg.
and get a massage at the same time!
what a nice idea!
I think I'm becoming my own evil twin!
I spent 3 years with someone that was a right arse i think I have learnt enough not to put up with that sort of behaviour
unfortunately I need his private medical insurance for a month or so at least!
I agree with Haz about not racking up tension. My suggestion would be to ask him what he suggests. Put the ball in his court. Say you cannot manage on the bus, should you get a taxi?
you are definitely a good soul, sally.
he thinks I should get taxis. Which would be £50 a return journey. Then he will whine even more afterwards, not worth the later stress!
too tired to cook usually works around here!
I am just generally a peace-maker ruby, and I've learnt that hate, tension, confrontation basically hurts the person doing the confrontation as much as the person receiving it.
But if he knows already how much it is going to be, and he thinks that is the method you should take, then he can't moan, not really.
See I was the one that charged my ex $40 for a $20 fan that he took with him when we split up
I know he can't. But he would! He moans when I buy 4 cookies that I don't need!
Then smile sweetly and ignore him. A fight fizzles out if there's only one person fighting.
Agreed Haz.
I still think it's worth asking the doctor about hospital volunteer transport.
I do normally. I just don't have the energy to even ignore hi at the moment!!
Should we set up a business? Wise Advice Dispenser Service, nicely shortened to Wads. We'll make a mint.
good acronym, too
rata
O that is a great Idea sally
Splutter. Unfortunately that sounds like a dispensing machine in the ladies' loo.
whoops
Yes, throw yourself on the mercy of the doctor/health service.
Wise Advice Given? No, that would make us Wags...
aren't we, at least a bit?
Sage Advice Given? :-)

Hello Andree.

The pea soup lovers held sway, much to my amazement.
love pea soup
Husband makes a nice pea and ham soup too. I only can make minestrone
we've formed a new organization and I think the name will be JAWS, joint advice wisely spoken
I make a good minestrone, too
Think I am definitely leaning towards Babblers Advice Department, BAD, then we can say we've all gone to the bad.
Yes, but if the advice is different, can it be joint?
I can make chicken, lemon adn tarragon soup
and now I have to make a Campari for DH who is taking me out for lunch in exchange for my giving him a haircut!

When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.

pa 7 is eluding me too
Hey ruru, can't help yo uwith clues today as haven't started the gird.
oh, lucky you FM, I love them
pa 7/36 = pa 4/5 + if you told an untruth you l***
I thought they were boggy loving plants.
pa 7 is pt of a man who was sick of the pa7 was healed (biblical)

ta + "hoist on his own ****rd"
thanks.. finally figured that out
hello all
help with 8's pls
is today, ignore perwinkle day?
Good afternoon, babbletopia! Is this grid tricky, or just for me?
Hey peri!
hi all
Hey Boo
Round 2. 80 left. Hello all.
Uni, I passed halfway rather easily. Next half will likely be tough.
Hey Scrabs! Good to know...I'm up to 74 and feeling a little better about it
And I am still staring at the grid with 80 to go.
I miss the simplest words...
Babble Blindness Syndrome
Good to know there's a name for my syndrome :)
tr8/40 - and tr8/40 - if you were to write a scholarly work about the sort of surrender agreements reached between countries, then it would be a tr8/40 about tr8/40. (Words are anagrams of each other). And hello to all.
Time for the list.
TY, Haz!
Lovely clue, Haz. Nice to see you!
You're welcome! Hello to you as well!
And how are you doing after all the excitement of graduation, Uni?
Lovely. And the people next door have gone back to drilling holes in their house.
Is this drilling holes for a purpose or just to annoy you?
How is your mother, Uni? I haven't seen her here in ages.
I'm doing well! I need to get my diploma redone as they spelled my name wrong, but I am still enjoying relaxation and applying for the odd job. How have you been? Busy, I'm sure.
I'm sure there is a purpose. They are renovating the whole house (I am dog sitting at a friend's house). It's maddening.
That's bad, them spelling your name wrong.
Lori pops on *very* occasionally, Scrabs. She seems well enough though!
I'm busy, yes. Redecorating younger daughter's bedroom - I'm a frustrated interior designer.
Big decisions, Haz.
Have you de-papered everything yet?
I have depapered (nearly killed myself in the process!), I have painted and I am not repapering (my favourite bit)
Sorry, now repapering, not not. Big difference.
Oh, that's news. I thought you were doing paper again, only without a pattern? I vastly prefer painting, but that's just me.
co7 clue please?
co, a vowel, plus a place where you might build a house.
Ah, there we go. I don't know that I've ever put paper up. Maybe once. Taken it down plenty though.
I love painting--must decide on colors and get to work in my house.
No, I'm papering, the paper has a pattern, but not one that needs matched (wavy stripes).
Now I'm over half. Thanks!
TY, Haz. Odd word.
You're welcome.
Go Uni go!
It's a funny grid - normal words and strange ones all mixed in together.
Ah, painting. I can't do my apartment walls so now I make little canvases of colour to put up.
last do 6 please?
do6 - take the comparitive vowel out of the do7 (the dalmatian word)
comparative, that should be.
I ne4 do7 too--assumed it was plural of do6 before it
Or do6/21 - to rhyme with what you doodle in.
NM, I get it now. TY
do7/32 - one dalmatian may be do7 than another.
clue for al 5 please
An extraterrestrial
al5 - strange, foreign.
nm got it
first fe5 please
fe5/16 - to rhyme with green round vegetables.
TY, Haz
You're welcome.
Any more clues needed before I go back to my pasting brush?
ot5 + pa7 please?
pa7 - looks like a past tense of a Biblical complaint.
ot5 - a river creature.
And first pa5 (being greedy here)
How to clue it?
Grr, ot5 was an easy one.
Thinking about that pa7
pa5 - like a paean, but minus the r.
Does that make sense?
To the friends (pa4/5) add the letters of 'to pass away'
Not to me, haz.
When you give someone a pat on the back, you are giving them pr****. Take out the r.
Aha, like a facial nerve pal**
Now, pa5 is eluding me
See clue below.
I'll get it. Morph into an interior designer now.
pa plus when you get up in the morning, you r*** and shine.
crossy pops up for air;)
Getting on my apron as we speak.... (an apron with deep pockets is handy for holding tools)
hello
Hello harpjane and crossy. I'm just about to leave - enjoy the grid!
howdy haz,harp
*gone*
Hi Crossy
I looked up pa5.
howdy scwabbs
28 left for tonight. I must get moving.
now crossy is angry
it will not take 'apease'
ahh 2 p,s;(
Crossy needs more Ps to appease the enable gods so they will take apease.
how many letters in the J words, please?
Uniiiii :)
oh god..j words;((
Ata! Have you been good and watched Supernatural instead of working? :)
I have a 4/5 combo. Middle english for joking or laughing.
watched disc 1 of series 2. but but but JOhn dies!!
Still missing the third J though.
Sadly, he does. But Dean lives!
I'm watching season two finale right now. If I remember correctly, JDM returns briefly in this episode.
sadness! I thought he was in ffor longer :(
No, only a touch of John :(
:(
HA! He's *here*! Jdm, jdm, la la.
oh well. he was gorgeous while he lasted!
But I have he with me constantly cos I have Wathmen on my ipod :)
He returns though!
Ah, Watchmen!
how can he return if he's dead!
Through the magic of television about supernatural things. Think about how many times Sam and Dean die...
lol true. I was sad when they burned him though. That's fairly final usually!
Nope!
Hurray!
That was just preventative measures. The thing is, JDM still wants to do more John, so the writers keep him slightly open in case they need him later.
We see him once more, and he does a voice thing later on as well. Really hoping to see him in season six.
excellent!!! wheeeeeeeeeee!!
Dean is nice, but JOhn is just so much nicer
I love Dean. Sam drives me nuts, but Dean is fab. As time goes on he just gets so much better, just as John would if they hadn't been so annoying and killed him.
so when does it start getting complicated with Sam knowing he's a half-demon or whatever he is? Series 1 has absolutely no real continued plot line apart from finding their father
That's all season one was about. Season two is about the yellow eyed demon...mostly. Can't tell you what three is about as that would ruin two for you :)
lol ok
The show has a lot of 'monster of the week' episodes. I love it. The storyline never really overshadows the complicated nature of their lives and relationship.
it's funny cos I see trailers for season 5 about the end of the world and Lucifer and stuff and think how the hell do you get from no storyline to season 1 to *that*? LOL
Apocalypse! The best part is that the whole thing was planned out before they ever aired it, so whatever storyline is there is there for that purpose.
excellent! it's good when the whole thing is planned. I'm sure they made Lost up as they were going along
I never watched Lost, but now that it's over I think I might.
its fun
I think you'd like it
Hah, watching season two gag reel.
I love gag reels
The guy who plays Sam just messed up the same thing over and over. They called him impotent for it...
LMAO
when does Castiel turn up?
Season four! Lovely times!
I've got to get to season 4! Urf!! LOL
And season five! And season three! :)
I need season five to come out on DVD soon, and then get much cheaper.
am going to try and watch a disc a day while I'm laid up
I watched a disc today and I'm not laid up at all! I tend to just have tv on in background sometimes though.
me too
Do you have a 6 disc season?
yep
So many of these episodes are just excellent on their own. The next one for you really deals with Sam's mental stuff some more.
I rly liked the one where John died, with Sam going to get a ouija board and Dean facepalming
Hiya kids. I need one more to finish. Any clue for the 2nd to last te5/10? A2Z is no help.
nooo idea, sorry. I forgot there was a grid
I'm definitely lacking it, sorry. I've got 42 left even with the list.
How's the leg, Ata?
annoying today. I'm official annoyed with it today!
Are you still immobilized, or can you hobble around some?
I can walk pretty well, with a brace on, thank goodness!
Judi do you have the te5/10 scientific unit?
Well, that's a plus. If you have a skateboard, the dog could take you for a drag.
loooool yes!!
I suppose a wheelchair would be more appropriate.
then would be nice! Hobbit could train up as a dog sled dog
wildcat - I don't think so. Clue?
it's a unit of energy or momentum or something like that - named after a guy
Poor Hobbit must be so bored without her mum to take her for walkies.
she is :( husband does take her for short walks in the mornings though, and we go out into the garden and play with her ball-on-a-rope during the dat
day
Uh, could you be more specific, wildcat. I need a real clue for dummies on that one.
te + ***lom is a skiing discipline
a unit of magnetic induction; also the name of a US physicist
Ty! Fireworks!!
yay!
:)
Anyone need clues before I vanish?
don't think so ty!
I am sure I could use one or two but I just walked in the chog
Hi all. Dropping in for a quick Babble fix.
Does anyone have a clue for the co7?
co + vowel + place
ty ata. Another weird word
hello again everybody
75 left and will try to eke out a few more before I crash and burn!
Hello Everyone
hi jmc
hello wildcat!
{{mom}}
((ruby))
Im just stopping in on the few minutes I have left from lunch
it is so beautiful here at last with roses everywhere!
Our flowers are just stopping to pop - columbine, daisies, rhodo
ruby - check out my daughter in her prom dress - picture kind of squished when I downloaded it
I think our soil is wrong for rhododendrons [sp?]
that should have said starting to pop - I must be feeling guilty about playing again
she is so pretty! Do you lock her up at night?
they get leaves but no flowers. Roses, however, will grow anywhere I think
We have never had luck with roses other than the wild rosa ragusa (sp)
of the so-called perennials I planted the first couple of years, the following have disappeared: loosestrife, foxgloves, lupines, hollyhocks and more!
the stars of the garden are roses and peonies
us too - we have replanted lupines. Gave up on purple loostrife. We had some beautiful black hollyhocks at one time but winter kill got them. My peonies wont open for another week maybe.
my hollyhocks were almost black, too, fabulous, but for only two years. From what the books say about loosestrife, it's an invasive weed. Not here! It was really lovely and a few even came up in the fishpond but now have left a big hole in the border
I think flowering times are different every year. Last year, I had roses in April and peonies by now but the roses only started this past weekend.
And I think there won't be much fruit
WE have alot of different varieties of day lilies - just starting to bud up. Its nice to have something different every month
There was too much rain when the fruit needed to set
I remember your photo. I think mine have disappeared....
are there any pt words in the grid?
Those were road side type tiger lilies - we have so many other types and colors of day lilies in other gardens. I will need to take more photos.
yes quite a few
I love lilies of all kinds but only had the simplest orange ones, now gone
our stella dora yellow ones will be the first to open
are they fragrant?
no not really - the peonies are our only real fragrance flower other than our autumn olive tree and lilacs
my poor little lilac, planted in April, has really suffered with this weather. I'd be surprised if it pulls through.
what is an autumn olive?
they are pretty hardy
retoe
you can see my brilliant monkeys at work! lol
its supposed to be more shrub but ours grew into a tree - small fuzzy white flowers all over it in late spring and then red berries in the fall. the birds eat the berries all winter.
lucky for you its not a real word
I'll look it up in one of my US plant books
I only have 94 words and can't find any of the ptempting ones
teaties
almost ruby
I give up!
This is the hardest grid I've encountered in a long time!
no, I got those, was just fooling around
add a cons and you got your 8
I have the 8's, it's the rest I can't get!
like the middle a!
or the right-hand a!
hopeless
that must be an as4
aa4/4
I always have a hard time figuring out where they come from
you are tormenting me! :(
go left
ty for the aa
gd night mom and ata (and any lurkers)
sweet dreams ((ruby))

Hi mom

pa 6/21 pleas
ar5 - babblet, mountain ridge
need that pa6 too mizH, also pa7 and co7
co + vowel + web**** (what babble and google are)
don't have the pa 7 either
pa6,21 is a local language, often a mixture of others
switch the last letters of the pa5,12 and make it plural.
pa7 describes someone who has the shakes.

hi peri, NB, crossy, bonkler, miz, et al

i mean what the hell is genetically modified meat based product??
maybe not with all these women around! :)
hi, Pini!
You CAN do it crossy.
You CAN do it crossy.
You CAN do it crossy.
hey pini!
im trying....
11 days till first weigh in
you CAN do it, NB.
you CAN do it, NB.
gooo nb!!
you can do it!! better to quit at 19 than 49
I agree! my dad had lung cancer from smoking...and it is just a nasty habit.
MizH: I have to6/21 as = past tense of to4 (the get around to** to4)
thx rbud ;)
LOL Peri. Thanks, both of you, and good luck to you, Crossy! For the first time, I'm glad that you can't smoke in clubs anymore - at least it's not waved around in front of me at work!
thanks rbud...I didn't think that could have a past tense
nb,every day you do not smoke, take the price of a pack and put it in a jar and at the end of the year buy a present for yourself
i told you what the wife and i did when we quit nb?
j's?
didn't you go on a trip or something, crossy?
nope we quit in jan of 2002,every day we each put the price of a pack of smokes in a big jar we had,we did it for 2 years and in jan of 2004 we added it all up..it was $12,160.00 and we bought a new car with it..cash
Oh Crossy, I could never save up for a year ;) there are clothes that would look good on me NOW! :)
dang!
hey hey ya'll...
that was when smokes were 7.50
wow, crossy
howdy mp
hi MP
hey mp
we still have that car;0
been working on the grid and lurking a bit...30 left for me
I've hit 1/2-way, but need 3 more for NBT before I'll list
any clues for the center A and E; and last column A?
oh man! that's pretty awesome...too bad I hate driving and live in the city. Holiday instead maybe :)
well done, MP ;)
there you go,save for a month in hawaii
go first class
ty pini
* sigh * Hawaii...that's 1 of 7 states I've not been to yet...
center A: I have aa4, I think, guess it's a plural
thx rbud!
it is beautiful! Well, Oahu and Kauai are
center E: e5, e + sticky Scotch stuff
That was my honeymoon
HA is on my list for "someday"
yiks, I have only been to a handful of states. on my bucket list is a trip arcross the US in an RV,I cold visit Babblers along the way !
thx again, rbud!
would love to visit Hawaii
when does your trip start, peri???? :)
i also have a bucket list
<-- former military brat...we traveled alot
on the east coast since that is where I am :)
crossy...first class isn't what it used to be...at least on american airlines...unless you're flying international it's just so-so...went Baltimore to Calif first class and it was kinda cramped and they paraded everyone thru first class...felt like a cattle drive!
you will have to come up and see me peri
I would crossy
last column A = ar5, someone clued it as a mountain range and babblet?
bbs
LOL Crossy :) I have difficulty believing places like that really exist...they sound too much like paradise ;)
* looking rbud *
s'better than British Airways MP. Sit in whatever class you want...the plane still won't go anywhere :P
ar sounds like a french stop
LOL NB...
I flew KLM to Europe...wasn't too bad except for the mom and her 3 youngin's and 1 infant...
...was worse on the return flight...
...the same "family" was right across the aisle ... again! :(
nb,right now i could take you on the mtn and show you rare and protected ferns,a 1400 year old jack pine and a old indian cave that has ice in it till the end of june and wild turkeyas in the fields and deer eating clover at dawn and the salmon run as they jump high into the air taking the sun and turning it into a water drop rainbow as the snap flies out of the air;)
that sounds awesome, crossy!
wife says i have the verbal trotts;/
Hawai was paradise when I lived there for 3 1/2 years....but I was a kid but have vivid memories of it all...my folks took and showed us everything there...I hate to go back because it would never be the same I'd rather remember it as it was
LOL, Pini! I have endured also ;)
If NB were to visit Oregon...I'd take him to Crater Lake...a place where colors are truely breathtaking, true, and vibrant!
that is so poetic, crossy, paints a lovely picture!
why ty rbud;)
While he's in Oregon, he could swing by me too
oh joy oh JOY. Apparently my medial ligament is fine, the anterior cruciate, on the other hand .....
there you go nb,just come and visit all of us;))
I am so lucky to have been so many places in this country and canada and have started to see some of the islands on cruises...we truly live in a beautiful world...
Portland is close the gorge, which has amazing waterfalls and hiking trails
uh oh ata;(
glad to hear, ata...not so good to hear...hope you heal soon!
Miz...are you going to the meet-up in August????
I don't think so...
that sounds amazing, Crossy...so amazing. If you were to come here, I could show you the drunk people on the street and, erm...English pavements.
My own backyard is a paradise full of critters, birds, flora and fauna!
Cannon Beach isn't bad either! or whale watching! or sealion caves! or Redwood Forrest! etc...
where and when is it?
oh and you must go on the 30,000 islands sunset cruise,we have a old steam ship built at the turn of the century call the chi-chimon
the sea lion caves are just a tourist trap!
I may be biased, by Oregon the perfect state
Check Stid's profile...I think we've planned it for Aug 28? in Olympia...
plenty of sealions hanging round in Astoria to watch for free ;)
...yes, I've driven my car through a sequoia...they're huge!!!!
good point, Ata!
LOL. This is starting to sound like a very expensive trip for me ;)
I wish I could, but I am throwing my husband a 35th birthday party that day, but it sounds like fun!
You'd be surprised, NB...just the airfare would cost you...lots of babblers for room/board!
and we shall have to take you up the cn tower nb
well, if plans change, miz...you're more than welcome!!!
whew, 99 words and finally nbt!
you have not lived till you take an elevator where your ears pop lol
thank you, I will definitely keep that in mind
Pini do they still let you drive thru the sequoias...I did that as a child but I heard they don;t do it anymore as it harms the trees...pollution etc
yeah, rbud! (still working on that ar5)
yaa for rbud
it's funny, I went on a huge trip with a group of friends after we all finished school...I'm sure I went to some of these places but I have no recollection :P that was done on the cheap. There was lots of sleeping on beaches ;)
I think there may still be a very select few trees (2-3 maybe) that have been being driven through for 50+/- years...
and a ride in a old bi-plane over Georgian bay in those great open cockpits;0
(*nudge* can I get another clue for that upper right A?)
as I remember our main expense was booze ;)
poor NB
trying to think of a clue... ar + book/movie title, "From Here to ***rnity"
lol, come over here nb,you will only have time for a night cap and its off again;) i have 3/4 done my bucket list
thx rub! NBT!!!
famous scene of Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr smooching on the beach as waves wash over them
yay, Pini!
...sadly now back to work! :(
please reserve some of the travel discussion for later...it's been most enjoyable!!!
well, you'll have that, darn work, anyway! ;p
cya after work...* poof *
(no kidding, rbud)
not poor at all, we had an awesome time! there was a very funny night where we dramatically overslept...woke up drifting slowly down the beach in our sleeping bags ;)
I actually flew a cessna when I was a teenager....my uncle took it up and landed but he let me fly it and said I did a fantastic job....my parents had a fit when we told them when we got back on the ground..he was a nutty uncle so I guess that explains it!
the first ta 5/10 please
i have hot air balooned,i have bungee jumped, ive done cliff diving,i have flown a small plane,i have ridden a bi-plane,i have hitch hiked across canada, now i just need to co to moose factory on the polar bear express,do the big train trip through the mtns out west,my bro is to take me through the costa rican jungles,i have already seen polar bears and whales..lol mp arn,t those little cessna,s a riot to fly??
ta5/10.....ta + black road surface
ty karys
omg, I'd be terrified to go up in a hot air balloon. Ever since reading Enduring Love!
thanks karys
yw :)
never worry bout the hot air balloon nb,if he messes up,the pilot dies too!
I've flown a helicopter and a fast jet :)
i never worry bout death,i was dead millions of years before i was born and was never inconvenienced by the experience;0
enduring Love is SO amazing
hot air balloon I did was wonderful, so much to look at !
ohh,a jet..now that would be wild indeed
haha, Crossy - sounds familiar ;)
Wow, you guys. I've flown a kite.
it does cause i stole that

Congrats Miz
still sounds pretty amazing !
ty!
see ya all later!
I had a *ball*!
id love to be in a jet, blasting through the ozone at m1 with your bod jammed back into the seat;)
Bet no one could touch you for weeks Ata
and I'd love to be on the ground with a G&T, watching ;)
Sounds more like it NB
common nb,now is the time to do all this stuff!
very sensible NB!
ill warn you nb,come here this summer and the first thing ill do is pop you in the back cockpit of a bi-plane that a friend of mine has lol
I dunno. I've bungee-jumped, but coming out to my parents was scarier...with more risk of serious injury ;)
I can't face the idea of bungee jumping, it's the one thing that terrifies me!
That would be nice Crossy, I would enjoy that
it is amazing karys!! they cruise at 65 mph,it feels like your going no faster than a walk!
Yes, that sounds just what I would like, time to see around you.
the wind ijn the hair, goggles on your face and bugs in yer teeth;0
LOL Crossy. Maybe you can come here and I'll take you to the kind of clubs I frequent. You'll know true fear then ;)
bugs in yer teeth eh? sorry, vegan ;)
lol im a big boy nb,they can try lol
i have bar hopped in timmins, nothing scares me anymore lol
and you do not have to eat the bugs lol
LOL Crossy. Well, even I was intimidated when I landed on the London scene...and I'm supposed to belong here ;)
try fighting with a bunch of drunk french canadian loggers for a week lol
I am the world's biggest wimp though. Have now settled in and am dancing on tables with the best of them ;)
london's a great place to be
up here they use crates by the tables to dance on,too many girls in heels were slipping on the beer spills on the tables lol
I have only visited two or three times, enjoyed what I saw though
you in london nb??
LOL Crossy! And yeah, I live in London now. In a typical London flat...a cupboard ;)
do you know where the big kodak camera factory is?
I remember living in those cupboards ...
ooops....phone, see you all again !
errr, the one in Harrow, Crossy? I've lived here less than sixth months...still get lost in this city ;)
my uncle runs that place still
are you kidding? I should drop in ;)
yup ian Melbourne
if he has not retired that is
I tend to avoid going to Harrow, because generally there is some genius who will remember I'm Asian and say..."Harrroww?" ;)
mm must be a inside joke
oh i get it...sad try at a joke indeed
just tell the guy that trys anything on you that you are a level 9 black belt and would he like his spleen removed? lol
LOL, quite. Actually, I found it quite funny (the FIRST time) because my accent is completely English, unless I'm really tired. Then I lapse a little ;)
Haha! Nah, times like that, I just pretend I don't speak English. I string the few Korean words I know together, in different orders, until they give up and go away..
hmmm...I've killed chat so will now flee from the scene of the crime. Later, all :)
evening everyone
bye NB! hi Katie!
Hi Ata, how's the leg
oh. that.
apparently have ripped the anterior cruciate, not the medial as we thought initially. Joy
how are haz, fm and liz I haven't been on at the same time as them for ages
is that worse?
Liz is fine! Haz and FM are fine too, FM had an abcess in a tooth, Haz is busy wallpapering
generally, yes :(
actually, Liz isn't fine, she has a bad shoulder. We are all falling apart!
Ok so only Haz is well! I hope you all get better soon
hopefully! how are you and Bry adn the kitlings?
Bry has a bad back and is going to get is sorted tomorrow at a pain clinic, I'm frazzled at work having a new starter, everything up in the air and my boss on holiday!!
but at least I am healthy lol
oh noo!
don't let them tell you that working in the public sector is easy!!
how arethe cutbacks going to affect you lot?
I can't talk about it unfortunately but we are working very very hard lol. At the moment there will be no redundancies. We have also changed a lot as an organisation to meet the new agenda over the last couple of years so I am hoping we won't be abolished
*fingers crossed*
The Regional planning system has been abolished and we don't know what will replace it, however a change is as good as a rest
I have my second emergency meeting at 10-30 tomorrow *sigh*
oh dear *sigh*. THat sounds - fun -
in fairness we knew that cutbacks in the public sector were coming and whom ever got in would need to do it as some point so I have been prepared, it will be great when we have more certainty but they need time to make sure they are doing the right things and you can't argue with that
can you tell I'm truley
can you tell I'm truley
truly enthusiastic???!
sorry about that....can you tell that I am truely apolitical as a good civil servant should be
lol yes, absolutely!
in the assignment I'm doing at the moment, I'm debating whether to tell them what they want to hear, or what really goes on in the world lol
hello all, how's the grid?
depends if you want a good mark, maybe i'm cynical but they want to hear what they have told you rather than having free thought!
difficult!
Hi stid, it's good today
I just spent half an hour with a classmate working on HER project for tomorrow... will have to do some work on mine soon.
that was my conclusion, which is annoying!
good. then I have something to look forward to. Another classmate just came up to talk. (((hugs all))) toodle-oo! *Poof*
but hopefully the good deed will be returned some day :-)
p.s. go for the grade, and tell them what you think after... *repoof*
ah but is the grade at graduate level repetition or free thinking??!
yes crossy the cessna was a blast...my uncle was doing stalls and drops--a bit scarry but I had all the confidence in the world in him...he was a DC motorcycle cop so I thought he was invincible..silly young me!!! But I was also a child of the 60's and 70's and I managed to survive that, still kept a few of my more radical outfits...and a few items I can't mention ha, ha, ha...not sure why but perhaps when I'm a gray haired old lady I'll dig them out and have a flashback to my youth that should give me something to laugh out loud about and even dance!
I think you should save the free thinking for the project at the end
Oh god next door are fighting again....shalll I tell them I have had a bad night and they should just bloody shut up?
*sigh*
*day not night
why do people put up with it?
gah!! do you get to hear every word?
just the general screaming and slamming of doors, it happens so regularly that I have stopped muting the telly lol
ick!
set your ever so fierce cats on them LOL
lmao
muted the tell but can only make out the 'f' word
*telly
they could at least provide audible eavesdropping!
if it were me (and i'm eternally grateful that it's not),i'd start recording their fights and then posting the tapes anonymously through their front door when you know they're out...
i know where you are coming from pinny but to be honest I'm a little bit scared of him and just keep out of both of their ways
i understand that too
just call the police the day it gets worse than normal or interrupts an important tv prog!
I don't think they actually hurt each other otherwise I would there is just a lot of shouting. It's calmed down again now
changing the subject I have just signed up to twitter :-)
ooo fun
17 left...go monkeys go!
go MP go
go go go!
this is not a nice grid
Oh I'm quite liking it but i did list at half way
that woul probably help :)
hi all, 109 to go and gettin' stuck already 8-(
that sounds more familiar :)
wow, made it to halfway at last
yay gwen!
goinf straight to the list. no scruples there. lol
I should probably do the same
75 to go, zip zip
Evening Babblers!
I have 99 left... no list, but headed there soon.
hiya turtle
hi red - go Celtics! :)
61 left and thinking about listing
Hi red and boj & gwen
hi Bo, the Celtics will take it, but I am glad for the funds raised by having one more game in Orlando...
Good morning all
hi Katie, Ata Gwen
hi lyn, hi stew, hi bo

hi Bo, first coffe of the day here
hiya Lynxxx, and everyone else and all lurking babblers.
red - i hope you get 2 more game!
it's 'got to go to bed soon' time here
*games
I would like 2, maybe three....
last night was good Basket ball, unlike the other games where the Magic lost their minds...
not much on NBA but have been a Celtic fan for a long time
I support the home team, but not a fan of Redick.
your reason?
Redick is a short little dude from Duke, he wasnt that great a college player and he really isnt the cats meow now.
LOL
finally found a 7 woot
I have no 7's yet! congratulations BDG.
8--D
31 left but need sleep, see you all tomorrow
goodnight Katie
night night!
g'night, katie
hello, lyn, ata, gwen, red, bo, et al
good night katie, good afternoon Dcs.
hi DC!
i've spent the afternoon blowing up buildings at physicsgames.net :)
hi dc - nite Katie, wonderful dreams!
you naughty thing, dc!! LOL
wow DC, I wish I could say I did that!
there are some things i'd love to blow-up :)
so, i saw tell that there are some 7s in this grid
I have 0 7's.
i have only one 7 so far
got lucky - monkeys found 3 7's
clues available if wanted
i'm at 0 of 7 myself on those
pa7 is what you are when you have a shaking disease
yes please to clue the 7s ty
ooh, i just found another 7
ty
co7/32 - co + vow + s4/4
ty lynxx
and both 8s, woot
wow Gwen
the 8s are a cool pair, no?
the 8s are nearly the same as each other. one is a long scholarly paper tr8
do7/32 - do + sometimes dewcriptive of older people?
do7 if you have the maeslies or are crazy you would be this
yes - the 8's are interesting

yw and hello
how are you this evening?
i'm good thanks getting tired now and thinking bed might be good
how are you?
pretty well, ty. cooking dinner as i babble.
it's almost 1 am and my grand-daughter thinks grannies room is always the best place to be at 6 am
are you having something nice?
just some noodles and broccoli in a cheese sauce.
mmmm still sounds nice
visiting my grandparents, i know that grandma usually slept until 9. Grandpa, however, was up by 7 usually.
I am catching up on Burn Notice and waiting for hubby to get home
this granny would love to sleep late but between the baby and her parents and the racket they make when they get up at 8 or 9 ish it's impossible
I'm about to watch the nail biting NCIS...
but I have 50 left. Grrr.
i haven't seen burn notice much, prefer ncis
AH IT looks good... we are anxious to watch it
38 left here and struggling badly
bummer, jacq
you are a season ahead of us please don't tell me anything
my prediction is that they black haired lawyer lady the withc is behind all this.
My friend's son is the personal trainer on the set of Burn Notice so I watch
I like NCIS as well
I forgot you are on a different time zone.
Its on now, so I am going into lurk mode and getting a bit fo ice cream.
different country lol we here in the uk are way behind
yes! It is only 5 here
yes! It is only 5 here

Jake is on an overnight field trip so it is quiet
njoy, red and DR
Well, that I know Jacq! but ...
nice, DR
: )
i'm still trying to catch most of the season we have here, the parents aren't considerate about sharing the tv
or the phone
or the shower
or the fridge
sharing isn't a strong point of theirs lol
night night everyone, have fun and fireworks and take care
That is a bummer Jacq
congrats on Fireworks!

Hello HarryHood! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
hi hi
Hey All !
Hi all. I've come back for my last 12.
Hi everyone, especially DR! I haven't been here when you have for a looooong time.
congrats Seain
**feels invisibible**
Hey wht, hey Bugsaw
Hi Aussie
me too Aussieme. Lets meet in the PB and eat all the treats
Is red here, I commend her on her icon.
**sneaking into PB**
you are doing well wht.
Hi Everyone
Hi Dr. How is your boy ?
Hey DR !
Hi Aussie
I've been working on and off while I was supposed to be working on work.
Hi Bugs! He is on an overnight field trip on a Tall ship sailing ship
I am alittle nervous but he was excited so I hope it goes well
neat DR. hi wht....
I get to go tomorrow morning for a 3 hour sail
hi, bugs, aussie, nad wht
Oh how exciting. They can all pretend to be real pirates
They act out merchant sailors in 1774
Well, not stopping, but just wanted to say to all my Babble Family, that my little Georgia-Grace turns 4 today. You were here when she came into the world, so I wanted to share her Birthday with you all...... **poofing after giving out hugs, and leaving chocolate in the PB**
Hi Seain. I saw you finished. Would you care to clue the weirdest word for us, please?
**today as in the 26th, which is what it is here now**
happy birthday Grace!!
**real poof**
HAPPY HAPPY Birthday to the wonderful Georgia Grace
DR is this a school related trip for Jake? His teacher should get a prize
Yes, It is through the GATE program ans subsidized by the parents and the Maritime Museum. It is a wonderful program
His teacher is amazing
Last night Jacob said I love Mr Williams : )
The kids will remember this forever and all the stuff they learn too I will bet.
I think you are right
Especially when they wake them up for night watch at 2am
night watch is fun
They are brave enough to do that? I am very impressed. Night watch is much harder to do than when you just imagine it.
great for stargazing
not to mention picking the black clouds coming from the black horizon :)
ight watch is fun Seain. It is the waking up that gets me ;)
that is so true Bugs
There is the teacher 4 parents and the crew
I think the kids will be fine... they have to check the ship then write in the logs
They are up for 2 hours then they can go back to sleep
HOw nice that you did not have to be one of the parents DR!
I volunteered for the sail not the sleep over... I am no dummy
I meant that Jacob was willing to go without you. At the beginning of the year he was having trouble feeling safe. He must have grown up a lot this year. Well done for him.
how are you doing bugs with your teaching
Looking forward to the end of the year along with everyone else.
I was worried about this at the beginning of the year for sure but he was so excited, I am hoping it goes well.
They placed him with a Mom he knows fairly well and is comfortable with instead of the Dad that is a cop
It will I am sure
HUbby and I are going to go to a nice dinner
when he gets home in an hour
Even better for you. Sending good wishes for a nice evening.
thx
OMG, no spoiler here, but OH my what gunfire on NCIS, I think someone may have died, but I am not sure....
sorry DR. It was an outburst of Tourettes for me. I could not control it.
remember it is just the end of the season red, not the end of the show
REALLY??!?? I love Mark Harmon- Hope it Its ok! I have scene previews
Deep breath now. Take a deep breath
I know, I know!
* or seen even
someone, not necessarily Mark harmon, who I also adroe..
I was so sad last night after Chuck
I am a huge Scott Bakula fan
NCIS IS jsut so well written
they did kill of the girl before Zeva tho. I wonder if McGeek or DeNoso will go. I hope not since they have such a fun chemistry
They are all adorable
Did anyone else sacrifice Sunday night to LOST and still feel disappointed?
I am particularly fond of this team, not so much of kate. But you will all see it. I am busting with what I THINK I saw happen.
I have NEVER watched Lost and my Life still seems full!!!
I am not a Lostie either
wait wait, the one I thought was dead is not dead, but....now I wonder if he was even there...
Just like the 3 finalists from American Idol were at my hotel last week in Burbank and I had no clue who they were
I liked it at the start and the end but in the middle it got way too complicated.
STOP - some of us are on a time zone where it is not on yet.
She knows Deb
I don't watch Idol or Dancing either DR.
she apologized already
trust me, I am not giving anything away. if you even think you could figure any of it out from that, you wont be able to!
Hi Deb. I am waiting for my time zone to play NCIS too.
me too
Love the show!
love the line, Shutting up now Boss
LOL!
: )
oh oh, its getting better than I ever expected. I am getting warm fuzzies....

I'm missing a TE5/10. It's one of the last 2 Te words. I have the one that is the name of a rock band. Does anyone have the other one.
Hi aknitter
wtg hh
the other one is the fish food
Congratulations HarryHood on fireworks! Way to go!
te 5 a type of fish
te5 think a video game which addicted half the usa in the late 80s
rock band??
ppl said it was a communist plot
the rock band can also be a coil with electricity :)
A te5/10 word is anagram of the ta 5/10 word Minski
I think there used to be metal band with that name.
ahhhh
ahhhh

gotta go make tomorrow's lunches....night
Got it. Thanks.

good job Leslie Ann
not me Minski
the first one i have is pt of a cherry ta** dessert, min, but i don't know if that's first
The other one please LeslieAnne
hi all, here for a few minutes
Ann sorry
HI tea. How goes the potty battle?
I have that one Leslie. There is one after the TA5 candle.
ah bugger. have not listed yet. *goes to look*
Hi back again, again. Daughter stopped by and we had wedding things to go over.
we had some success today - both in the toilet
thanks for asking
Don't list just for us !!!!
YEAH!!!!!
oh no i meant i'd go look for another ta 6/21
glad to hear, TNC...how's he taking it?
we had accidents, too, but he seemed to handle it well
YAY Tea. It just takes setting the timer for every hour and being regular with that for a day or two
HOORAY FOR POTTY TRAINING SUCCESS!!!
Scrabbler had some good advice. Minimize the accidents and celebrate the successes
"accidents will happen"...then, viola, all will be well!!! and everyone will be soooooo happy!
we were just noncholant about it today, so I think that helped. It is hard to not get all worked up about a poopy mess, though. I am learning to breathe. ;)
like your icon TNC. we should have a literal avatar day. (would love to see what bugsaw comes up with! :)
ROFL Leslie Ann
I keep forgetting that they are not mini adults, it is hard sometimes, as Tea is so advanced
Some kids are more difficult to train than others. My 5 1/2 year old daughter has only been trained for about a year and it was a fight every step of the way.
thanks, LA - I like it, too!
you still beat me, Min - he will be five in July
my gd (thankfully) was trained in 7 days! :)
...and we never looked back!
So noone has the 1st TA6/21?
If he is that old he has the bladder control. He is just lazy
ta 6/21 = ta5/12 + *e*NCrackers
or mom and dad are lazy about being on the same page and working hard on it!
that doesn't work 67
67, should be ta4
Got it. thanks.
YAY I got it now Thanks to Pini and 67!
Sorry Pini is correct
nothing like a little team cluing! :)
I think it's an attention span thing also. Paige would have an accident because she just didn't feel like stopping playing long enough to go to the bathroom.
yes ty Pini
we went through that with Tea, a lot, sometimes we still do on that rare occasion
It made me crazy she would sit in a puddle of pee and continue to play
or take off poopy pants and undies, hide them somewhere, put on clean ones and continue with her game.
ew, min, so glad we never had to deal with that
that is more work than just going to the bathroom minski!
well, hubby informs I must cook my portion of tonight's dinner - green beans - see you all later!
bye tnc
Thank goodness that is over with, for now at least. I have another year before #2 is interested.
Fireworks
hooray wht!

Travel tip from a seasoned veteran who should have known better: Don't skimp on your accommodations ..
Does anyoen have hte PA6/21

back
pa 6/21 is a local language, often a mixture of others
pa6/21 is what they speak in Haiti not so much French as pa6/12
pa + anagram of the last 3 letters of the pa5 + pl
but this was fun: was at work today, working with a little guy who tries SO HARD to get all the words right....he misread the word "count"......I seriously had to bite my tongue in HALF not to roll on the floor. oh, he is SO CUTE

Well, it's highly appropriate AND ironic that I changed hotels on National Towel Day .. because of towels ..
is there a story there, torgone? waiting to get out?
co5/16?
I got fed up with the DUMP I was staying in because I had no clean towels, and I moved to another place, a place with towels .. And then I find out it's National Towel Day in honor of Douglas Adams' "Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" ..
fluffy white thing in sky, minus second letter, add a vowel at end
And yay for the FSM!

"The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair."

Then there's always "Go, and never darken my towels again"--groucho

Grem you have lost your mind lol
crazily optimistic!

I would love to see a 600 word one, have we ever had one that was that big? I dont think so
glad to hear, MP...isn't it amazing what can be done nowadays?
I'm ashamed to say I need a to4 after the t + not seldom
let's get down to ** and finish
to+ tag you are **

better get to**
Evening peoples! Has anyone else had trouble with lightning? Missed finishing twice this month because of it and it's supposed to be that way for the rest of the week!!!!
hiya hoot
hello all -- any computer true geeks available to help me out?
hi Pini
we had thunder and lightning here earlier today but has been calm this evening
not that I'm a pro...but what's up, stid?
whats up Stiddy?
I am trying to get back to finishing the work that I have due tomorrow, and spent an hour already dealing with a STUPID stidkid trick while Tom is out of town.
more info please!
A hacker managed to get hold of Tom's computer (I think) and sent a program that made it appear Gmail was reporting an attempted hack on his account.
hoot you sure have been having some weather in TN lately!
hi stid and fellow babblers
What did he do? move it, delete it what?
It directed him a reset password page of some sort (he didn't tell me so I don't even know if it look legit, to be honest)
yep sure am!
ta5/10 after the pastry pt?
what kind of virus protection do you use?
So now the stidkid doesn't have access to his Gmail -- he did notice on the reset password page that it apparently was going to send info to a yahoo (secondary) account that Matthew didn't own... for me that would have been a RED flag, but he just went ahead anyway.
plaque build-up on teeth, minus third letter
Lordy stid - all I can think of is going back to a back-up. But you'll still have lost your work
ta+ black gooey stuff you put on your roof
sort of like what the dentist scrapes off teeth
SO.... I have filled out a request with the online Google reset thing, and can't get online real-time help this time of day.
ta + asphalt
FIREWORKS!!! Thanks, mel and pini
yeah jilli!!!!!
I shut down Tom's computer immediately, and Matthew's access on that computer doesn't have main control, so hoping any keystroke logger didn't catch my logging in as Tom...
nick of time
Now to get the new icon...
wtg jilli ;)
*sigh* I am SO not in the mood for this manure pile!
yikes stiddy I am not sure how to fix that, other than e-mailing gmail from another account and telling them what happened
I have HOURS of homework still to do...
