Are you using FireFox or Safari? I have to do that at my Mother's house Jillibus. It is a big pain in the arse!
well done, mixi
dar is that 9 part of an8?
firefox, min -- it never used to be a problem.
dont have any 8's yet
oops of a CA i meant
now, does anyone else have a weird thing going on? when I enter a word, the grey bar below the add word box sort of "flashes" which it never did before....
but this is Expert, and it seems to use Explorer.
Trif, I'm using Babble Expert and the Lickety Add box, which is totally different. Sorry, can't compare.
i got the CA 9

ty
wtg dee
interesting jill
phant -- the needlecase, lol!
you may have ie set as your 'prefered browser', jilli...
I'm amused that the words se4, "and," and "ye" are in the grid, as in "Se4 and ye shall find"
no, pini, firefox is my "preferred browser" and default.
hmmm, then my theory's been blown...oh well... (btw, it does the same for me and I use firefox)
maybe DrG set it all up with IE
perhaps
snag

i only have 1 ag 5
bunch of the 8s end the same way

tyty, that was it,
well done, flosey
was missing the one in the left column
hey all..late flip for me..
i dont think the ag5 i have goes into an AG 8 if thats whatyou mean grem
thanks Pini, hi m9
ag6
I have ag4 from there, I think
hi m9
the ag8 can have an "st" in front and that st10 is a much more common word
ST 10?
70/116 = enough for me for now; cya in the a.m.
tx grem found it
gn pini, tc
oh no -- it's the ag6/24 I have there

he West, haven't seen you in a long time
well, hello west!!! Where have you been?
**hi
hey west
what west?
hi flosey, jilli and dart !!
bonkler gave a better clue ML
I've been in and out mostly just busy with parties and company and my mom being ill
I missed you guys
west, from your icon I see you must have been here yesterday -- clever clue!
is this on hte end of a AG 6?
oh, sorry about your mom -- is she better now?
I was but came in late and most people were already gone
hey babblers
GOT IT
hi sam'smom
wtg mlf
hi s'mom!
120 left i am out poof
bye mlf -- well done!
not really jilli she was fine on her birthday ( and you know what day that was ) and on the 23rd of May was taken to the hospital and has been in and out of there and in a nursing home she's just so tired
i like your icon tools- my favorite tool is a 12 inch bow saw... i do lots of odd jobs with it
she got an infection while she was in the hospital and just can't kick it
oh dear, poor thing, west
just need the I for NBT...
we're all hopeful..she's just not ready to go
I need that too -- and the D has me stumped as well
How old is she, west?
i smaal thing
I need any e in the 3rd column
small
ty dart -- I always miss that little thing
she's 94 jilli but until this happened she was doing great
ek4, west
thanks jilli
d dark damp like a basement
well, may she kick that infection and bounce back well, west!
but the lower one is the one I need
e volcano
ty dart -- and I'd even tried the German thank-you, duh.
jilli she just wants to go home
oh no dart I missed the volcano??
phantom audition
is she on IVs, west?
thanks very much dartie
iota
hi sam
she is jilli and even has a PiCC line like Mr. President had
oops, my first day back from being away and I forgot the rules!...
hi there!
hi pav nice little word there lol
I need to find a tool back in a few
NBT!
phantom attitude. more phantoms than words over here!
let's hope they work soon, west -- must be miserable for her.
i have one tile to go for nbt. good job PAV!
23 for 22...
wtg pav
nbt here too, at last!
PAV got an extra credit point?
thanks jilli ( I came back to see what tool you had lol )
yeah...wasn't watching which n I was working on...
jilli all those things you and your husband made ...would love to see some pictures if you have any
okay, going to find that tool again
I have lots of pix but not on the computer, west.
can you scan them jilli?
eventually, flosey!
would indeed be interesting
phantoms detention and annotate . . . maybe I should just go to bed
I even have some leftovers in the crawl space, such as a nice Shih tzu and Dane heads etc.
I wish I could get my flickr pix to show here again.
wow, no space to display them
It's a rare grid when en6 and no5, synonyms of each other, are in the grid
don't have either of those words, douglas :(
en6 is often clued in crossword puzzles as "The Supremes?"
ok..can someone please clue me the y?
sorry, doug, doesn't ring a bell with me
Japanese coins
oh sheesh.
thank you
NBT
Not until I get a (plural) ye* to.
Japanese coins of desires
wtg m9
well..my dd got off so I could look at the grid. Now that I've NBT gotta give it back to her.
I'm back. Hi doug and grem
*poof*
Hi west
hi and bye m9
Hello west
very funny, west! :D
found a ca8
thanks jilli if only it wasn't true lol
Trying to come up with a more amusing and informative clue for the en6-no5 collective
pav I can't believe you made meringue with a fork !! your arm must have been ready to fall off
en6 - no5 - half a dozen and a half of one, half a dozen and a half of the other
I thought of posting a picture of a little hammer I had, with screwdrivers in the handle -- have you seen those? Hubby borrowed it one day for something to do with the car. Drove off with it on the roof. I wonder where it is now.
hi ata that's not confusing at all
I didn't know what a whisk was until later...
sorry. best I could do at 7am
I sympathize jilli I'll bet it was your favorite too
just joshing ya ata I like clues that make me think
LOL :D Phew! I was worried it was too obvious :P
A stitch in time saves both an en6 and a no5
It was, west -- fortunately I found another one a few years later. Hid it in a drawer he never would have explored.
awwww a nickname for my first cocker is in the grid. sn6.36
got them both thanks ata and doug
yay west!
clever west, thick as a plank me.
When will I stop thinking utile will be in the grid?
if you tell us what your cocker's real name was will that be illegal?
cocker's name was Jake. He had various nicknames in the grid actually, sn5 and sn6
I think I've figured out Jake's other names ;)
nick for Jake starting with sn.
:D
sounds like me and names for the cats
ridiculous, isn't it? Hobbit has so many nicknames
oh ata I've been absent..how does your knee?
ohhh ... well ... it was doing really well, until I found the limit of how far I could walk 2 days ago! APparently walking 5 miles round a nature reserve was a bad bad idea! It's very stiff and owie. But! Still a million times better than it was!
There's a dangerous deposit of negatite in the grid. Don't know what it is, but it simply can't be good
sorry it's owie but good for you for getting out there
Quite rite, doug
oh yes, taking hobbit out every day again is just blissful!
is she sorry she pushed you off the cliff?
she really hated me being on crutches / in the brace. SHe'd bark at the crutches LOL
I bet you felt like barking at them too
phantom megaton...I don't believe I've ever seen megaton in a grid, have you?
is that because she is a canenine?
our volcano has enough doug
and good pun lol
think I've seen megaton before
hi ruru
hello ruru
I keep seeing toilet
I've seen megaton and n****** together in a grid plenty of times
hi jillikins
keep seeing attitude
I've seen grids I'd like to blow up
thanks grem
Well, that means I just haven't done enough grids!
I keep seeing ganoine and dilate
ooh yes grem
It helps to play on sites where there's a new grid every 3 or 4 minutes.
that was tangleword
oh.. I found a dessert ca 7
I have the ca 4 and 5 dessert(s) is yours related?
nope
this one is frozen
be that way then
ca4/5/5 dessert
ca7 dessert too.. in the north end of Boston
ty grem didn't have the other 5
in little italy
aaah know it well
isn't it Italian ru?
hi ruru
got it !!
yes..
get ya ca 7 heah
wicked good ruru
hi there pav.. haven't run into you here
hmmm getting a little sticky now
i try to avoid accidents
lol
well off to bed,,,cant see in the dark anywhooo
are you having a heat wave too ata?
pav why is it dark?
I did mean the grid lol, but yes we are! It was 33C here yesterday
It's been unusally cool here for July - overcast and cool enough to wear a jacket outside in the day.
That's not good. The Queen left NYC early because it was so awful..
if they need any.. they can borrow a ton of them from SF..
I live in the place that is consistently the hottest place in the UK
grem friends who'd visit us in July were always disappointed that we weren't having perfect beach weather..that usually came when the kids went back to school
anyone found the 9 yet?
nein
I found all
ca 9
right before the ca8
you guys are so good
oh yes, ty
and if you have the ca6 before it, that's a pretty narrow region for it to be in, so it's guessable
it was 100 when i left for work this morning, and 104 when i returned...we.re in our monsoon season , so when it isnt sprinkling it's muggy. lights are off to keep the rooms "chilled at 82" and i dont see well at night, even when i'm holding the keyboard in hand
pav it must be brutally hot never realized that lights would add to it but makes sense
how are the poopies holding up?
lights, and my computer being on, heat up my room
Princess Precious with her fine hair is as comfy as I, Joey on the other hand in miserable the whole day...
I end up shoving HObbit in the shower once or twice a day and cooling her off
aww tell him I'm sorry
how does she like that ata? thinks it's a bath I'll bet
pav will he let you clip it shorter? or does he live up to his name?
she loves it!
that's great ata thought she might prefer stinky sea water
she does ... but knee was too painful to take her down there yesterday :(
I say stinky sea water with love..nothing like the smell of dead fish and seaweed
we're just a few blocks from the ocean up here and sometimes when the breeze is just right I'm in ecstasy
it's high tide in a few hours, I'll take her down then for a paddle :D
are we talking about the same ocean?
I like the heat -- the last two days were great but now it's cooled off again -- only about 82F (28C) at this point.
just different sides of it :P
did you swim again today jilli?
do you get humidity too jilli that's not my favorite thing
No, flosey -- didn't have time, and it had clouded over.
No, west, not humidity like in the east.
If it wasn't so late and dark I'd go out and look for you and Hobbit lol
ah! I hadn't noticed, must have been downstairs at that time
just look for a black bouncy blob :P
okay lol
I swear she has batteries
remember that disinfectant Dettol? It's in the grid.
how old is she?
I don't recall that jilli but I did just find canada
8 1/2!
dettol is a major brand over here
I can't find the dumb ca 9
she still seems like a puppy
Oh yes! Hadn't noticed!
neither can I, ruru, no surprise.
she does! most people think she's about 3 or 4 at the most
ca9 - a fizzy drink made from big guns :D
oh ty ata !!
when you REALLY need your thirst quenched
ty ata!
thank you ata
yw :)
I tried the pt of ruru's Italian dessert...didn't work
lol so did I
you can't get past tense with them.. they disappear too fast
very true
this is true ...
I wish there wuz an R here
this is the second grid running without an R. odd
I have bad news from St. Helena
Syngenta is a big agrochemicals company and in the grid
oh oh
I shudder to think...
what news ruru?
they opened a gelato place in town...
phantom gelato
and ??
I am trying to shed 10 more pounds
good news from the UK though - we no longer have a mad gunman running free
ah, I see.
isn't it mostly fruit and ice and healthy?
Sugar, west.
oh ata I saw that on BBC news last night
not really.. lots of sugar
glad they got him
sugar is not our friend
definitely! was a strange week
Mel Gibson is over in England?
Mel is only make believe ruru
I've lost 27 lbs cutting out (almost) sugar -- and having half portions of stuff and seldom vodka
wow.. jilli .. good for you
super jilli
wow, good for you jilli
I've dropped 15 but have my sights on 25
my downfall is sugar in my coffee
still need to shed a few more.
I'm quite used to black coffee now.
I should lose about 25
<<< coffee.. hot and black
You don't look it, flosey!
all between waist and knees
that's hard to lose at our time of life, flosey.
yes, did it once, about 10 years ago
I still look about 6 mo preggers
that's where mine is, mostly
remember girdles? I hope never to see one again
I want "engaged", waaah!
I still have a couple of discards, west
I bought one for my daughter's wedding west and took it off as soon as we got to the reception - could hardly walk down the aisle
I was hoping they would be outlawed
yes, if we had never worn them, we wouldn't have lost the muscle strength
probably true, flosey
amazing what designers talked us into
gosh, hard to believe that was 20 or so years ago
yes, the pencil slim skirts
with the kick pleats
pointy shoes and 5 inch spike heels....still going strong
yup - wore heels once since coming to the island - never again
so many women have ruined their feet
just realized, we came through the witching hour without a repeat
'twas ever thus -- think of the old Chinese bound feet -- ghastly
I think they are dumb
I think they are dumb
haha, no we didn't!
that was a really long pause
I agree now ru! but only after many years of wearing them
jilli what was the purpose of bound feet?
lol, my clock is fast
60 left for manana.. good nite all
goodnight ru
good night ruru stay away from that gelato
ah, that stuff is so good, we have a shop in the village, so many delicious flavours
bound feet were for the rich to show they were rich and created a small lotus blossom shape that was considered beautiful -- similar to the spike heel concept
corsets
tattoos
hey jmc
hey
why are you up so late?
its 10 a.m. in Kenya where I am
wow just got tired of DC?
no on quaker business and vacating
how exciting..did you get to see some soccer?
finished the t words, 71 for tomorrow, goodnight everyone
on t.v. -- world cup is in south africa
good night flosey so nice seeing you again
bye flosey
I know it's in south africa lol
good to see you again west, don't stay away so long again, eh!
okay, will do...or won't do that is
I've been watching on TV too jmc mostly tape it and stop when things get exciting
almost over..will be rooting for the Netherlands for Sprite but Spain has nice looking players
g'night flosey
have to support spain cos it has the prettier players :P
t
yeah lol
the US and England had a nice match
Torres has cute freckles
I want the Netherlands for sprite and monkeygames (she's mostly on FB now, with stories about Walter etc)
I'm so glad monkeygames is still around jilli
Walter may be starring in a toothpaste commercial!
I miss Walter stories
he's so adorable
join FB, west, and you can get the lot -- very interesting!
I was on FB jilli and I just couldn't take it
maybe I'll try again
You don't have to get into the dumb games.
and you can block the messages from them
but I felt bad if I didn't 'accept' all the drinks and stuff people kept on giving me
I joined to play Lexulous with other babblers and my son and grandson etc.
meh, they don't know whether you do or not!
is Lexulous like Scrabble
oh, now you tell me lol
I just ignore them, west, and nothing has blown up.
i just ignore them and every now and then just delete the lot of them
Yes, like Scrabble but 8 tiles, not 7 -- had to be a bit different so as not to annoy Hasbro.
are there lots of babblers on FB?
loads
I'd like to join a group like that
yes -- and there's a Babblers Worldwide group
do I need to be invited?
i use fb very little since i go stalked on it. it turned out alright but i spooked me
no just sign up west
no west
nope -- but we'll invite you to be our Friend
not good jmc
oh yes, jmc, I remember you mentioned that.
it can be very scary there's always some jerk that has to spoil it
he got booted but i am still a little spooked
story on the local news about a woman who went on vacation and came back to an empty house
of course she told everyone she was leaving
well, one has to be sensible about what one posts, and who one allows to see it.
my son was home until today and my sister and neighbors are in and out
I agree jilli
I feel so safe and comfortable here
well, I have 100 words and it's bedtime. Is it me or is this a toughie?
not easy ...
you beat me by 1 jilli
i was a little worried my stalker would come on babble but dr. god looked and it is okay so still safe here
(just got 2 more, lol!)
I think it's time for me to turn in as well
by 3 then lol
jmc good of dr. god to check
good night / good morning nice people
I can't imagine being stalked
goodnight west!
i thought so! he is my hero
bye west hb
and goodnight everyone else -- may not finish this one -- busy tomorrow.
fortunately this guy is more annoying than dangerous
i should go an pay attention to the meeting bbl
meeting?
well, goodnight again and *poof*
good morning everybody
hi ruby!
hello ata! are you up and running while it's still cool?
I'm at least up LOL
hi all
hi barb
it is beautiful here in the AM but then it's been over 90 every day, very unusual for this area
Hi barb!
Ruby I got new fish...my old fish went to live next door in a bigger pond. Have two Israel Koi...My son has named on Skeletor because it look like it has a skeleton on its head
wheres the tour going today?
how are your few fish doing
today it goes through the Jura, St. Julien-en-Genevois and ends up in the mountain NE of here.
believe it or not, since I put in Sally's pondnets, they are breeding again and amiling
oooh lovely
that is great ruby
more than 100 of them including a few of the old, big ones , e.g. Spot, etc.
Hello all
smiling*
hi urshy!
hi ursh
hi ursh
Spot's name is like Skeletor!
ursh: BAFANA BAFANA! I rooted for them every minute!
and the next big goldfish will be named Tshabalala, lala for short
lol ruby they tried really hard
they were full of enthusiasm and played very clean games
I haven't named the second one...skeletor is black with white and the second one is a lemon yellow and black. Then I got a couple of new shubunkans
i once met a woman whose name was Senga - told me it was Agnes backwards and quite common in the UK - but neither are acceptable in the grid
fish are so expensive here; what we paid 12 for a dollar for in the US cost more than 1 euro each, here
koi are phenomenonally expensive
yes I have never paid that much for my fish...a few cents here or there..but these were so lovely to look at I could not resist. Paid 18 dollars each for the 2 Koi and 3.50 each for the others.
Agnes is a nice old-fashioned name
compared to the pet store, some of our big ones are worth $60-70! Could never replace them
Barb - I think you need to change your login name to 'Barb's Fishies'
The shubunkin that I took next door I figure was worth about $80 dollars
or barb's animals LOL
hi pinny. or Skeletor and it can be an inside joke!
Barb's Menagerie
Hi Ruby! How're the pups?
that would be good too pinny
I gave Ruby a haircut as she looked like she was trailing a long, filthy dress!
Barb's Zoo
Yes my husband calls it that at times
Haha! Will her hair grow back?
I try to groom her a little every day, but she remains dirty
yes, she just looks neater around the back end
Gotta dash - brb
the only time we took her to a local groomer, they cut all the long hair off her tail which needed to be "curried??) like a horse and it took 2 years to grow back
should change my picture too I guess
lol poor ruby!
I need to get my clippers fixed so I can shave my big dog down again. He is so hot right now
HObbit had a big big trim last week
brb..changing pics if I can
what color is his skin under the fur? won't he have trouble in the sun?
uh oh, stomping upstairs. See you later (first 44 were easy!) {{hugs}}
hugs
oh, that was quick, we had a quick fight, so I'm back!
back
I should sleep but my legs are bothering me tonight
miracle of miracles! I just got an almost-apology!!!!
what would make your legs feel better?
well that is good ruby
yes
unfortunately not much. I was on them alot today with taking mom for her test at the hospital
he has begun to understand, that if he gives me a hard time, I'm not cooking for him
I can't stand for a long time either and have put a high stool in the kitchen so that I can do any chopping sitting down
lol. Morning everyone. Fighting back, are you ruby?
hi sally
yes indeed, sally! When he gives me a hard time now, I just walk away and he has to cook for himself.
if you can imagine, it is so hot here, that I roast a chicken at 9AM!
roasted*
It has been a long day. Through the worst part with mom's test. They didn't do any biopsies so taking that as a good thing...but wont know all the results till we go in to see the doctor
Oh yes indeed I can imagine that.
yesterday it was 95F, really rare for here
one must cook when it is cooler...we have been eating alot of cold plate stuff....maccaroni salad, potato salad, salad, sliced chicken, etc.
same here, barb
I make tabouleh (sp?) and it's good for a couple of days.
It is suppose to cool some here for the next week ..mid to low 20's ( in the 70's)
Maybe I'll make gazpacho tomorrow.
that sounds lovely ruby
there are supposed to be storms starting this afternoon, but they say that a lot and it rarely happens
I just can't stand long enough to cook a lot and get very tired
our valley seems to have its own weather system; frequently it doesn't rain here and it does, 3 km away
My cousins place in Kamloops,BC is like that...it can rain all the way around them ..but not them down in the valley
ooo I've been through Kamloops!
that's funny; I guess lakes and rivers make their own weather
l love it there..would move if my husbands business didn't rely on being where it is now
what a great name. I saw the place name of an Australian rider in the Tour: Flowery Gully!
my FM would be better there because of the dryer air
is humidity a big problem for you?
it seems to be harder for me to take the heat these days...I am assuming it has something to do with the humidity
I am still learning so much about my FM and what causes flair ups
Mind you I can't remember being pain free at anyone time in such a long time
I am so sorry!
why ruby
that you have so much pain
oh.. well thank you but it isn't your fault...I guess really it is know ones just so tired of the pain..cried again tonight because I would just love one day without any pain
is there anything you can take for the pain without side effects?
I believe at this point no...I am bad but not so bad as to want the really powerful drugs. I know then I wouldn't be able to look after my mom or my son then at all...not to mention my animals. And to do that ...well for me life would not be worth living
I try very hard to "put up" with the pain...it is just very hard to do these last few weeks
I have tried Laser treatments and they do help some too but cost money each time I go and with not working we just don't have the extra cash for me to go all the time
you are very brave!
I don't think so ruby but thanks for thinking so..sometimes I think what did I do to deserve this...and other times I think....there has to be a lesson here for me somewhere..just not sure what that is
I'm sure you did nothing to deserve it! Try not to think that way. It's like cancer patients who think"Why me?" The answer is "Why not you?" It is pretty random outside of genetics
I do try but every so often the thought creeps in there...I also usually think there are others so much worse off than I too and count my lucky stars that I am here and have a wonderful family
that is a much better way to look at it. I feel lucky every day I'm alive and it's 20 yrs since I had cancer!
most of my friends and relatives who had cancer at the same time are no longer alive, so I am very lucky!!
may I ask which form you had ruby?
stage 2A breast cancer -- lots of surgery and very strong chemo after and 2 21/2 years of tamoxifen
it will be 20 yrs in November.
my mum;s just had a mastectomy for breast cancer
Well I for one am glad you are still here Ruby and we have met if only in a chat
do you know what type? Mine was an adeno carcinoma and I was 47.
how is she doing atalante?
She has told me, I don't think she really knows - she'll see the consultant next week for post-op analysis etc
Thank you, Barb, I feel privileged to be in such a group of women!
doing good, but her op was literally only last week!
How old is she, Ata? Don't let them push her to do too much physical therapy until the wound heals.
Well if it is ok with you Atalante I shalll put her in my thoughts and prayers
They made me do stretches when I was morphined-up and boy, did I suffer afterwards.
64 and fit as a fiddle, she's already gardening!
Me, too, Ata!!
she is a tough cookie, it sounds like! I went back to work, but couldn't drive for quite a while
wow ata...make sure she does not over do
I'm sure she would be grateful for that, Barb :)
gardening already, that's amazing!
I guess the war of the weeds waits for no woman!
she was gardening 48 hours after the op!!! And not many painkillers either. BUt she isnt exactly - um - large up top so I suspect she's got a nice neat relatively small scar
have to run and fix a drink for apologetic husband ((hugs to everybody and Ata's mom))!
hugs ruby
lol ruby
I should head back to bed and try to sleep. Bye for now Ata..take care all
night
night!
nation
I apologise. Blame it on my cat Coco, who appears to use my keyboard more than me. I did not switch to the chat column and when I find Coco I may give her a job inputting instead of me.
no need to apologise,we all do it from time to time..
AAnd it was a word I didn't have, so thanks, Coco.
I killed the chat ...
this grid is an absolute pig, I have only found 72 words and have been here for a couple of hours. Think I need to do something else for a while
really glad you just said that cos I thought it was just me. It's a stinker.
too many vowels I think and could definately do with a R
There are several words that get used again and again in other words e.g the one that Coco typed in).
ty patxx, I didn't have that. It's too hot in the PB anyway!
right that has finally done my head in - 109 to find in a while, bye for now
hi FM. The others are the an4's and the volcano!
gm
hi kje
Hi ruby, I installed aircon in the PB so it is bliss. Morning kje.
hot over there, FM?
I'm on my way! Now to think of a word.....
86, so hot for England.
give me a good one, ruby! earn your way into that PB!
very hot for this part of FR also.
about the same here, FM, which is actually lovely for us this time of year - usually inlow 100s... yes that is warm for England, do you have AC?
I have no interesting words, today, kje
where are you in France, ruby?
no 7's, no 8's, no 9's!
No kje, that is the thing, houses here usually do not have a/c.
how about a juicy ^?
very near to Annecy, Veyrier du Lac
oops, that ^ should have been a 6
in the foothills of the Alps, between cliffs and lake Annecy
fans and ice tea, FM.... join the south!
3 ca6's
would that help?
looking on a map, ruby
google earth shows my house!
Ata did a brilliant clue earlier for the 9 if anyone wants it? LOL kje I have a Spanish fan and have been using that, very ladylike :))
east side of the lake
very lovely, FM!
missed ata's clue.....
well, I have def been as close as geneva... and have driven from geneva to italy, so likely went by you! (next time I will wave)
or stop by!!! we are less than an hour from Geneva; that is the airport we use
ummm it went something along the lines of a fizzy drink for a big gun.
I have friends living in Geneva
and the first two letters, FM?
Geneva is lovely
ca
I got a ca7 from that
Last time I was in Geneva i had to fly out in the middle of a thunderstorm, was very bumpy and rather scary.
How is life with you kje, haven't really caught up with you recently.
I have never flwon in and out of geneva... always Paris or Zurich... AA does not fly direct there, so I see other things on the way
I am thinking of fizzy drinks
GVA is a nice, small, easy airport
doing well, FM - busy month for me as I am on the hospital wards wit hthe new trainees...
Do you have to 'look after' them?
aaahhh - but Zurich has lovely cafes to enjoy on the way, Ruby! had one of the best sandwiches I have ever had at Sprungli... with a lovely hot choco for dessert!
yes, FM... watch em like a hawk!
lol
oooh, Zurich chocolate and veal sausage and spatzli !!!!
and they have nice museums
when my son was little, we used to hang out in the zurich train station, watching the Italians leave and arrive!
then bern for some decent fondu on the way to geneva...
and since switzerland is so tiny... can even pop over to luzerne on the way and take in the gorgeous view
Bern is a lovely city
*no4 to self, must renew passport*
how do you spell the an spice?
zurich is nice because the train station and airport are so convenient to the city and I think it has reasonable, clean budget hotels with lovely management... so makes a nice 1-2 day stop when that is the best flight from US I can find
have you been in Lausanne, KJE? It is a "real" place, compared to Geneva
do you mean anise ruby?
and the museum has lots of giacometti (sp?) - I really like him
Hi Esprit.
no, the red one for Spanish seasoning, 7 letters or so
bonjour jean
gm FM and everyone
bonjour ruby
G'd Morning Babblers! Might I inquire as to what language/alphabet these letters came from? ***sigh***
***Launches barrage of water @ FM, then ducks***
I don't think so, ruby...
There isn't an an7 that is a spice but there are 2 x an7s
Uzbekistan
lol Esprit, I knowed it was foreign!
has to be one of the stans! this is wretched
Lori!!!!!!!!!!! Can you water me, say, ever 10 mins?

Honestly, I feel like I've been at this grid since yesterday. These letters are poopy.
I woke up at 4:30 again and I've been here ever since
well that is the only an5 there is ...
dear lord! you
Hello Babblers!
dear lord! you're right. i miscounted
finally got a good word on my own, ga6 bird, not such a big deal
***places soft pillows under Jaky, in case fainting occurs***
hello scrabbler
G'd morning Scrabbler
No wonder her monkeys collapsed! Morning Scrabs!!
Ruby, I just tuned into the TV station carrying the Tour de France.
uh oh, better run then, I guess it started. I am so hot already, I don't know how I'll pedal fast enough!
lol ruby!
Hurry up, Ruby, and make sure you have at least a dozen back-up bikes.
tomorrow, it will be pretty close to here: Grand Bornand, La Clusaz and the Col d'Aravis!
20 mins away
Will you go watch them whiz by?
*poof*
thanks Lori--too wired to faint
no, it's better on the tellie, even last year when it passed my garden!
The countryside is beautiful as are the old homes.
that is almost the best part, with my "love" Jean-Paul Ollivier
he does the French commentary and is getting old, just like me.....
see you later *really poof*
The old homes + buidlings in France remind me how "young" the US is.
When you stand in some of the great Cathedrals of Europe you feel so small on their time line.
I guess that I need to get myself to Europe someday.
could there be something wrong with the list? the grid says I am missing one A, but I have evrything on the list!
Try and refresh Jay
Aha! I'm an idiot, officially.
Hm, Lickety's list also has 186. Occasionally Lickety's program includes a word not accepted by the Enable dictionary
gm scrab
you found it then Jay? ... passes fish.
had the word in my head--just didn't actually type it in
Hahaha, Jayk!
LOL!
yet another rookie error
I do that all of the time, Jayk, and realize it when I finally open the list
Dear God! Three hours. But finally the beautiful FW
Yippee for you!
Congrats Jay.
The pathetic part is I HAD the list--scratched it off on the list
We all do that, Jayk
How are you and how are the bunnies Scrabs?
I am doing well + training for my big hike on Aug 7th. I am climbing the highest mtn in New York State, 5344 ft, 7.4 miles each way, raising money for the American Cancer Society. I have lost 10 lbs in the last 2 months. And my bunnies are so darn cute!
Congratulations Jayk!
wtg Scrabs for the challenge and losing the weight too (a bonus from the training)! Awe re the bunnies :)
I need to lose so much more but I now have the right mindset and am motivated--I feel + look better.
good for you!
My body has been ready for years but my mind is finally cooperating with the wt loss + training program.
You are setting a great example Scrabs. So no ca4 for you today then ;)
Nope, no ca4. I am doing well resisting the bad foods.
*Waterbombs Lori in the hope she will retaliate with the hose* please!?!
BBS, I need breakfast.
Toodles Scrabs
BRB
***Lori was making another pot of coffee to cope with this heinous grid, but obliges FM with a double dose of the water cannon***

not rare enough
like when kje says something snarky and I am speechless?

hmmm... the speechless part might be rare enough...
I am actually a very quite and restrained person

Good morning, Babblers. Ah, blessed rain here finally.
me either unfortunately!
our country grocer now makes a cinnamon brioche that is yummy
Judi, Judi, Judi!
howdy judi
hi judi
just had spinach/goat cheese omelet, but pastries sound far more tempting. morning judi
morning Judi - we had 2 very hot days, now quite cool so far today
your omelet sounds yummy Dorens
perhaps this is the day to get those blueberry pancakes i've been craving
Nice steady, fairly heavy rain. Perhaps our grass will no longer be brown and crunchy.
it was, but i make them so often that it isn't new and interesting
there is a place in Hood River that makes the most ooey, gooey cinnamon rolls ever! With nuts on top.... real butter....
thank god it is cooler, one more day of 33c and i would of melted
oh! blueberry pancakes. i have loads of blueberries, and some pancake mix -- sounds like a plan
it's cooler here today too. With a/c units in windows going all night..actually have house down to 74
<<<wants blueberries!
All natural syrup here. Start flappin those jacks!
it's Farmer's market day!!! woo hoo!
yes, i have pure maple syrup, use nothing else
same here... used to bring my own when we brought my kids to a diner that didn't have it
please, please, either stop talking about sweet treats or send some over here - i'm drooling. and hi everyone
howdy guernsey
farmer's market day here too, but don't feel like doing it in the pouring rain. i actually have once and felt virtuous then, but not again
ooh, hi and sorry, gg!
i am going out to buy a blender today. i want to try smoothies.
guernsey, if i actually do make blueberry pancakes, i'll send you some
no rain here, but i can firmly predict some for about 7.00 p.m. wbhen i set out for a picnic in the park.
oh fun TO!
I prefer blenders with glass
:) Dorens, they sound good
drives me nuts when I monkey monkey monkey..and then it's a mundane word..
i have a gift card for perkins but the ones here are lousy
monkey nuts, Dorens
i'm sure mine are better, owl
Sharis just rolled out new menu yesterday
homemade pancakes are always best
well i do love their mix, the cakes are never heavy. my fave are corn pancakes but pepperidge farm stopped carrying the mix
i meant m9f9
who is sharis?
it's a restaurant.
Canada is in the grid today.
;)
They are in th.e NorthWest
similar in style to a Perkins
sure, any word with three a's is probably in the grid today
oh, and i am in the northeast. but i confess i've never been to a perkins either
banana not here
they don't have them in n jersey
my husband manages a Sharis
bob evans has decent bluberry cakes
i've seen them, but don't know where owl. maybe central jersey?
We have a Perkins in town. It is very mediocre. But, if you really need a bottomless cup of coffee, it's the place to go.
oh, then pancakes are nothing special to you, m?
SHaris are great! Good pie!
lol,such exotic eatery names lol
they just finished strawberry season and now are in Blackberry season... blackberry lemonade..
may if bob and sharis got married....
oh! blackberry lemonade.. sounds delicious
perkins in flemington, but mediocre. bob evans in so jersey
Atalante knows what she's talking about!
hi ata! i have a bug for you to ID but u can't get it from my phone to fb
now, good pie... i would travel for good pie!
*shameless promoter..m9*
Spent far too long in the one by Portland airport!
The sour cream lemon pie is amazing!
i have cave crickets
oh yeah..I'd love for my honey to manage that one!
and i love those restaraunt commercials from the south..EVERYTHING has to come with a biscuit!! lol
And don't forget the grits, Crossy.
cave crickets?
have never heard of sour cream lemon pie, interesting
no..everything in the south comes with sweet tea!LOL
eggs and a biscuit...sandwich and a biscuit...steak...and a biscuit lol
it's amazing flosey
din from the den? dorens?
oh they are hideous bugs... gigantic.. kind of like grasshoppers, but they can't see and when you're trying to catch or kill them, they hop at you
we had soup..and a biscuit for dinner last night!
Don't forget to chicken fry your steaks. (Could never figure that one out).
what *is* a chicken fry steak?
nor i
they don't make noise... but they are still called crickets.. sometimes called camel crickets
gosh dorens that sounds like my mother in law
i still cannot get over people having a steak with their eggs
Filthy Lil's has good pie
chicken fried steak is gross.
oh chicken fried steak... battered, fried and served with cream gravy... middle america's contribution to good food. at least when I was a kid i thought so
this one is at least 1 1/2 in moth or cicada like and very colorful
Mmmmmm. Pie.
oooo
ata you would love it!
bbl off to play tennis and pretend I am Rafa Nadal
but ruru, does she hop four feet in the air at you?
a battered deep fried steak?..good lord
Next time you hang out at Sharis you can have the CFS
yes dorens
it's cube steak.
don't know if it's deep fried... and they use thin steak, like cube steak crossy... you would love it
have fun ruru
this bug did nothing. kept trying to get it back on the tree had to push it. very lethargic
it's got the coating like fried chicken would have.
ill have a deep fried steak..some battered deep fried oreos and a biscuit please:)
and I think it's served with the sausage gravy
TO - might it be a dragon fly?
crossy!
don't they have gossamer wings?
ok.. you have to check this out: http://tinyurl.com/2fv5lyh
yep
deep fried smores. lol.
food and bugs. it's quite difficult tto follow this conversation. crossy, deep fried steak does not have gossamer wings.
food and bugs. it's quite difficult tto follow this conversation. crossy, deep fried steak does not have gossamer wings.
Yes, but maybe you caught one just after it came out of it's pod. The wings don't pop out until they're dry.
a cicada?
oh good..was worried there
anybody mention heart attack with the deep fried?
this is a big lumbering creature. cicadelike but not like any i have seen and only one
just look at the link I posted weiik!!!
sounds interesting!
oh no - had beautiful wings. dark reddish with borwn or olive stipes and batik like spots
How big?
google cicada images..some are colorful
gorgrous eyespots
TO, look for a shell, that they just morphed from, could have just shedded its skin .. also of note are the tell tale holes in the ground, abt a 1/2 inch in diameter that they nest in
maybe a luna moth?
have exhausted all images. nos hell which is another reason i don't think it is a cicada
How intriguing! I would say luna moth but the colors are wrong.
will post image when i can
17 to go, need a break, bbs
ooo good
M9, what is that, I've never heard of that type of cookie, and I'm a expert on cookies
oh yay! pics!
the samoa?? girl scout cookie
with caramel and coconut
yes m9
stuck at 47 for 10 min, time to get food
have u tried it as described in the link?
no!
deep fried with bacon? LOL and syryp and sugar?
i'm very shy of food that is deep fried, but, the steak i've made in the past, it is delicious
BUT!! my son had an idea and we made it: marshmallow coated bacon.
you can use a cheap piece of meat to make it .. just slice very thin and it becomes tender quickly .. I've always made my own coating of saltines and spices
I don't eat many deep fried things. I've heard deep fried Turkeys are good. I DO like me some onion rings though
<---- Might this be it, TO? Giant North American Moth.
*bransihes silver cross and covers crossy's eyes*
and deep fried icecream..
deep fried Mars bars are a Scottish delicacy
no. colors are wrong.
i've never had a deep fried twinkie but they're big at fairs
Hmmm. Might it by a mantid of some sort?
deep fried turkey is outstanding, had it twice, be careful of the oil though, can start a fire, some novice will over fill the pot wih oil, and set turkey in and oil overflows to flame and explodes
twinkie?
http://bugguide.net/node/view/15740
yes, guerns, i've had that at fair, it is good .. but, only one to experiment
twinkie = gross yellow cake snack filled with gluey white sugary cream
I did brine last thanksgiving. that was very good
another guaranteed heart attack food then
Dorens.. how COULD you use the word 'cream' which connotes wholesome goodness while speaking of twinkies??? that is a petroleum product injected in them thar "cakes"
i brined a turkey breast once that was outstanding, but have heard brined turkeys don't give off the right stuff to make gravy, and i love my gravy at thanksgiving. baste the bird with half a bottle of sherry and it makes deep dark delicious stuff

woot Nancy Boy, am beaming here because you are doing well. *hugggggs*
Well, if it is a regal moth, it's quite lovely. My first though was, "those are probably the shoe colors that Eva's looking for".
refresh
(((Sprite))) well thank you :) couldn't have done it without so many of the people here! That's really all I popped in to say though - I should probably get back to work ;)

Lovely moth, TO. From what I've read, it appears that color variations are common on the Regal moths. Kind of like Zebras, only more apparent.
Hey everybody!
Popping off to run a few errands. Then house cleaning. Gag gag gag! BBL.

if it starts raining here, I will go outside and stand in the rain until I am shivering.

i have a few left over blueberry pancakes, freshly made -- will donate to pb

sounds lovely too.

then they can use your syrup, and i can save mine!!
mmmmm my mouth is watering in both directions ... where to go first
let's lure them both to the PB
omelette first.. that's what i did. (mine was spinach and goat cheese tho)
good idea
also very tasty, Dorens.

i already put the leftover pancakes in at 11:44.. kenny might have eaten them all up tho
you didn't put your syrup in
dont need syrup with an omelette:)
"need" is a relative term
hey crossy, since we're on the subject of food (how unusual!), have you ever checked out the bacon marmalade my daughter's friend makes?
i have not..how interesting
you can google it. She gave us all jars at christmas... it is phenomenal on an english muffin
it sounds.... errrr....
spreadable bacon .. who knew
honestly sprite... you can't beat the combination of salty and sweet. this guy is a really good chef and he put in just the right proportions. i was loathe to try it, but i love it now
on your next free food day crossy you should try it out
I should try it once. But normally, I don't go for sweet with salty.

I love our little farmer's market
cherries.
ooo AIden as a girl's name! That's nice
we got two pints of blues and two of rasps.

LOL one of my oldest friends is an Aiden, boy. He's 42 :P
bye all. bb tonight
later TO
I just chewed out the boys because their father was outside for an hour working in the yard while I studied and they were sitting inside reading... ARGH!!!! *frustrated mama look* The worst of it is that Tom won't tell them or ask them to help, so they aren't learning to chip in when work is being done...
I admit I would have done the same! Unless asked, reading is most important!!!
would someone clue the en 6/21 again.. I can't find it
group of 9
nine? hm.
which E is that from please? *lost mama look*
a mystically sort of 9
so now the elder stidkid has gone to his room to read... *sigh*
good question *looks*
the middle E top row I *think*
thanks Atalante. *looks again*
it's rather twisty
en and homonym of really having to have something.
(although that's not how it's pronounced once part of the word)
oh! LOL thanks m! and thanks atalante. got it (finally)
yw
and now tom has chewed out the boys for not helping. why do I always have to play the heavy... both kids know that I "started" it...
My CLBIL has a best friend named Aiden (male and in 50's)
*whine whine*
hey guys
my aunt had a friend Aiden (girl) in the 20's or 30's
hey cat
clbil???!
I've found that just a "hey can you help me?" before starting a job does wonders.
common law brother in law. LOL
ohhhh lol
I am really frustrated.. I can't find it.
I don't mean 20's or 30's age. I mean 1920's, 1930's
en + compass directions + nnot BC
ruru's been having a hard day. Poor ruru
yes, and I actually DO ask ahead of time. STILL, how will the children learn to have initiative if they always need an invitation before helping?
that's a good clue ata
EN + what you do with dough for bread, less the K
I learned it somehow, there is hope!
I didn't know that word.. thank you.
I must have spent an hour on it...yeesh
go ruru go!
ad6?
ad + mr. Hawthorne
thanks ruru!
thx ruru
uh... do you want them to have your initiative or their initiative? I've found that initiative is never born of other's direction.
I hate it when I get clues and everyone else gets it but me..lol
me too ruru!
oooh! down to 100.
gotta watch gage play lego batman so i can help him memorize the light pattern when he gets killed...
I think I will rest my eyes and watch the start of the Uruguay-GErmany game.

illegal fireworks?
Hello Babblers!!!
hey red!
I was just seeing some of the new things that DrG is toying with. I am thinking the Mute button in chat will make things very confusing...and possibly less nice for players.
i'm trying my best to withhold judgement until i see the whole thing in action! hard though...
what will the mute button do?
you can mute certian players chat, which to me will make the cat seemed broken up...and also I think ti may make certian people feel excluded. There is at least two players I would love to mute on a regular basis...
you can click on a person and mute them, so you don't see their posts in your chat. doesn't shut them up, just hides them.
but they will know as soon as a majority of people mute them as noone will be responding to their chat.
*THinks she will be alone in chat very soon!!!!*
i bet mute will just mostly be used on trolls
I hope so, I do admit though that there may be occsion, for one particular player who annoys the snot out of me...with no chat but just clue asking for say 60 clues in a row....that player might get the mute button.
oh my
that is kinda ridiculous
and hello all
hello Praise!
hey there
sorry to break in on chat
haven't been here in a while
But thats what chat is for praise!!!
hi praise
finding today's grid pretty difficult
guess I am out of practice
hey featherbee
I just started, have only 51 words, but if I have anything you need, I'll be glad to clue it!
i'm being moved in on by two boys, bbl
have been spending too much time on Facebook games
thanks turtle
hope I am not one of the ones red wants to mute
No ruru you are not. I am hoping not to be muted either. :)
Can you imagine seeing chat fly by and wondering why you are constantly not being greeted??
yeah that could get a little aggravating
but then when they ask for 20 or more clues at a time
well you think they would get the hint
thats only one person. some people seem to enjoy helping her finish the grid...
come to think of it.. there is one player I would love to push the mute button on
Uh oh? sorry Ru....I know I am not always the best Golden Retriever owner....but I walked him and trimmed the nails and cut out a big matt today behind his ear....oops.
*can't stand the whining*
no.. not you either red.. a matt.. bad owner
I was upset. about the matt. but it is now gone. He is getting much better at the grooming thing...the nails are perfect, the hair...well its summer and very humid.
what is your dog's name?
i keep threatening kje with mute on our IM chats. never works.
it was nonstop cluing yesterday,
I dont think kje is very intimidatable.
hmmm she might be my other mute button
oops sorry thinking out loud
yeah she just ignores me!
I can't stand that.. YVo.. don't do this game if you need a clue for every single word
and what would we say if someone asks why she isn't getting any replies?!
True, Yvo, it was a nbig grid though yesterday which leads to some of that...
i always get self conscious when i feel i'm asking for too many
*LALALALALALALAL* that's what I'd say
it went on and on never stops
we wouldn't know!
I try to hang about and hope someone else asks for it!!!
hello Atalante, how goes it today?
turtle what is doggie's name?
I do wish kje were here though, I have a rant for her ears.
Koda
good good! tried to take HObbit swimming but she refused to get in the sea cos there were Big Waves. all of 2 or 3 inches :P
Oh My Dog is named Teulu, which is a welsh word for family/home....
Koda is Pinikulas dog I think...
oh.. oops
neat names both of them
Oh Ata, I wish I could take Teulu to the beach. He's a little overly brave...loves water too...
her other dog is chrome
is it pronounced too-Loo?
more liek Ty_lee...
seriously ruru? lol
who has a chromed dog?
Hobbit *loves* water, she just won't swim in it. SHe'll stand up on her tippy toes rather than swim!
it is actually a well-chromed dog
howdy!
*what a little princess ata..lol*
I one took Teulu to a state park, on a tuesday and he swam for over an hour in circles in a lake. I got a bit bored...but he was so happy.
*mutes ruru*
hi PAV

gads, I only just get here and the chog is stuck?
I took a shower this morning so you couldn't possibly smell bad!
er...you couldn't possibly smell me (that is)
...and now that I've totally befuddled myself, I think I'll go back to what I was doing and come back later! LOL
it quite possibly maybe perhaps what you took a shower in, pini ....?
* giggle * thanks, pav!
i think the afternoon brains are napping...
I try to use soap and water...
...every time I go outside, I feel like coming back in and doing the same thing (take a nap, that is)
if you're having muggy days as we are it's common....
I dozed off like 3-4 times yesterday
it's very muggy today too
i'm at 71 words 849 points..the goal is 1000 points before crashing
I'm at 90 and struggling...
it's only supposed to hit 84F today, but the humidity is making it feel worse than when it was 97F just a few days ago
and Germany secures third place in the world cup!
hi ursh (congrats to Germany)

Soodle, what is a Stella?
it's the beer he's drinking in soodle's icon
thanks m9

Oooh, Mom, its a type of beer!! (keeping with the stereotypical Irish theme)...
that is so funny Soodle
woo hoo got the 9, thank you M9
ah Soodle... your list on your profile was quite amusing
yw
Does anybody need a clue? I got fireworks a while ago...
Congratulation Soodlebum on finishing early! Hooray!
no thanks Soodle, wouldn't know where to start
Ha, get this, my fortune says: You will spend many years in comfort and material wealth. We will see about that
Thanks Min. I better go and give this dog his daily allowance of beer!! LOL. Good night all. See you all soon. 'Poof'
pleasant dreams Soodle
Goodbye Soodlebum! I will see you tomorrow in the log
now the monkey's have been fed, let me see if I can't get to halfway.
Min, did you finish?
I have 3 more words left and saving them for later on
Min, where do you get the discipline to hold off like that?
uh... there's got to be a funny comeback there..
what is that M9
Sometimes it backfires. A couple times I've saved my last word for later on & then the power goes out and I never finish grid.Guess that's what I get for waiting
oh Min, that would be terrible
whereabouts in NY do you live, Min?
I live in Poughquag, which is in Dutchess County, NY.
My computer service sometimes goes out right at flip. NOT funny.
oohh...I'm gonna take a guess on that.. um.. poe keg??
on Google it looks like it is almost country
Phonetically, my town is pronounced Poh-quayg m9f9l
not too far from CT.
cool. we have sequim, puyallup... I always liked Dosewallips and Humptulips.
I'm about 20 minutes from Danbury, Connecticut Mom
that is neat Min
how about Intercourse and Blue Ball in PA?
Hi Joey
I'd rather not joey. but thank you for asking.
Hi mom, and everyone else.
LOL m9f9l!
Hello joey! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
you have a great sense of humor M9
thanks, Minveryork
aw shucks. thanks mom
Good thing Ruru isn't here!! :-o
how true M9
I just had to google that one to make sure that place actually existed and it does. It's in Lancaster County
you didn't believe me? there is also a Virginville.
Lancaster, isn't that Amish country?
they are all close together - in Lancaster or Berks County, right in the midst of Amish country
Joey, just read your profile. {{hugs, prayers and good thoughts}} coming your way
thanks, Mom. I appreciate it
my mom is a 30 year survivor
I should update the profile. chemo is over, and less than a month after that my mom died. it has been a tough year
oh Joey, I am so sorry for your loss
thanks
Sorry to hear about your mom joey.Glad chemo's over
I'm sorry joey.
thanks, Min, I am glad that it is over too. It was tough. I still don't have all my energy and stamina back and it has been almost 6 months. I gave myself 4 weeks to get my act together, sorely mistaken on that
uh oh joey... who's cleaning the house?
<<<<says the woman who is the worst housekeeper.
funny........... it isn't me. the worst part is that I have had to learn how to cook what she did by trial and error. I have made more errors than have had good results, but i am learning. still haven't found the iron, don't know where the he** she kept it.
I'm not sure what "getting your act together means" but I have one thing to say. Don't should on yourself.
oh no M9, trust me, I know some really horrible housekeepers. Who shall remain nameless in case they play babble
ROFL!!!
maybe in the hall closet Joey
m9f9l, sorry for being a pain, but what were you trying to say?
I've actually gotten better
we don't have a hall closet, I have already cleaned out about 9 big boxes of clothes from her closet and it is still full
I mean 4 weeks is an awefully short time, and so is 6 months, and I'm sure your act is fine.
I have two, I will send you one
m9, Don't should on yourself.?????
thanks, mom........ if the postage probably wouldn't cost more than the iron, I would probably say go ahead!!!
I think it's a great saying!LOL
k
if you change your mind, give me a holler
are you sure you had an iron?
yes probably even two of them
hi all back for the last few

hey TO!
Hi 72 Temple Owl!How are you?Welcome to the puzzle
ah man - i missed the ca7 italian pastry... usually do not miss food!
The da 4/5 is July 10, 2010. Here is my story of clues for today.Finishing the grid was on my ag6/27 today and I did. It did not ta 4/8 long to finish the grid. It ta 5/18 even less time when I have clues, the list and my monkeys. Was a very da4/9 dreary day today, so it was a great day to Babble. It was also good day to Babble because hubby was away and I was alo4/4 for most of the day which alo6/21 me time to finish this. I ca6/21 believe how well monkeys treated me. When I sn4/6ed monkeys and asked them (in a nice to 4/4) to help se 4/8 some words, I got down on my kn 5/18 and begged them to help without causing any trouble They did not drive me to the ed 4/7 of insanity. They did not try to sn 5/18 out of my ga 5/16 backyard. I felt de5/12 trying to find some words & the monkeys jumped in and found them and they made a big de4/5 in the grid. They have a ke4/8 sense of where to find hidden words. Their ey4/6 saw words I hadn't se 4/4 yet, especially the sn6/36 words.Vocabulary words is not in my ge5/14. When I finished the grid,I let them out of the ga 4/6 so they could play. Da 4/7! Hubby, who is an4/4-Babble, wants the computer. He te4/5s to get ed4/9 if I don't give him the computer. I won't de4/7 him the computer. I am going to call my friend An4/4. Then I am going to at 6/21 to some household chores and make the kitchen ne4/4. After that, I am going to bake a ca4/9. Then I'll be back to clue. I will not give one io4/4 if husband is still using computer.I hope you made no 4/4 of some of these clues & were able to find some words. By the way, I li4/5 before. I am not done yet,3 words left to find.I'll be back later.

hi everyone!
go LA!
how are you LA?
hey LBD!
good stiddy, and you?
hi stiddy!
se 6/24 is my last one?
se4,4 + abbrev for georga
not bad. learned what is wrong with my eyes, learned that prescription glasses are unnecessary, and learned that I will simply not be able to spend as much time reading as I used to. so some good, some bad, but no concerns to speak of.
oh i was typing all around it! thanks lb, fireworks1
YAY LA!
whooo ohooooooo LA!!!
what IS wrong with your eyes?
so, stiddy, what does that mean, short periods of reading? audio books?
large print?
it means short periods of reading, about an hour then I need a break. Will make the last year of grad school very difficult.
don't need large print, it's a close-range fatigue thing. Also, the distortions appear to have been mostly due to corneal wrinkling as a result of dry eyes, which in less than 24 hours I have been using eye drops and having a big difference... but the fatigue is still there and always will be.
I don't learn well from auditory sources, though so books on tape isn't really an option for learning.
evening gang!
hmm, perhaps books on tape? contact reading for the blind and learning disabled to see if 1) they have the books you'll need and 2) if you qualify. I'd think that a prescription from your doctor would be enough documentation
hey feather!
hello feather
pretty flower fairy stid
hi feather
that is too bad, stid. i have really awful eyes and it is an annoyance
and the short periods I can read are sufficient for everything else.
thanks feather. I should change it again, now that sprite has seen it.
well, you can still use books for highlighting and stuff. or use your computer for e-books.
anyone know how soon "treated quickly" means for lyme disease?
I figured if anyone would understand my frustration about the limits, it would be babblers! ((hugs for all)) thanks!
um. why feather?
with 24-36 hours I would think, though.
lyme disease needs to be attended to asap!
maybe some rain on Monday. That woyuld be nice.
we got a sprinkling this afternoon, all it did was make things feel hotter and muggy
oh! past halfway. can list.
nick. had a tick bite right before vacation. during vacation, started to get swollen glands. the tick was on him less than 12 hours, and was possibly a baby tick at that, it was so small. never had a bullseye rash, so didn't connect the two. had a fever for a few days, and the neck glands are STILL swollen. now I'm starting to wonder if it's lyme. of course, didn't question that until the weekend, will have to wait for monday for the ped's office, and wondering if after waiting this long already, whether a day or so will make a difference.
but I am really looking forward to the new babble, being able to change the colors might help my eyes.
oops. *sits in PB*
might be worth it to call the doc and see if getting him in for antibiotics sooner is a good idea.
I would not be comfortable just waiting until Monday myself... but we don't really have ticks here, so haven't faced this with my own kids.
definitely call the doc see if he needs to go to the er or if there is something you can do from home
hmm where is scrabs when we need her
i so hate calling on the weekend! have had to do it so many times. and what makes this one worse is if i was thinking, i could have called this past week.
my thought exactly, LA! lol
hi all, finally got to NBT just now
call now feather. better now than later if there is any question.
hey gwen!
Hi, back again to try to finish.
go Gwen!
Hi gwen
hi wht!
Does anyone have a clue for the en6,21
it's almost 10 pm now.
and halfway, too. shall i go to the List or keep winging?
also, I had a similar "why didn't I call sooner" a month ago with one of my kids who had an infection... thought it would be okay until Morning, checked him at midnight and it was much worse so went to the ER. Would have been potentially very bad to wait longer.
en + what you would do to bread without the K
i'll call first thing in the morning
Call now, feather.
ty lbd
hey wht
I had monkeyed all around that one.
while you're online feather, look up lyme disease symptoms. check to see how many symptoms Nick has.
Hi stid
phantoms: cadmium, graduate, and incarceration (yes, i might need new glasses)
good phantoms, gwen.
lol, gwen
not many dawg. i have been. just the swollen glands and fever, but the fever is gone.
feather, i beleive my doc told me tick must be on 24 hours. however, that was the tock you SAW. I'd certainly call on monday
My favorite phantom today is edit
poking kje on FB, seeing if she's around
poke scrabs, eather
keep an eye on his glands, and make sure he can breathe okay. then definitely call on Monday or call tomorrow!
i know kje's around. i think scrabs has left.

Hello Cathyar! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
Cathyar,I got a story of clues in my profile if needed.
Hello Jellen! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
I'm fine Min, thanks...
Hey Jellen....Hey Min! :) Jellen is Tim out of hospital now? Profile...I forget how to get to ppls profiles here. :S Been too long since I've consistently played Babble (shameful of me)
Yes, we're home...
Jellen, how is Tim doing? Any more stomach problems?
Go back to the doctor on Tuesday...
Yes, still having stomach problems...not as bad today, though...
oh...i see...just need to click on the icon... How is he feeling Jellen? Glad you can finally be home again!
Glad it's a little better today. My thoughts are w/you
Thanks...I hope we can learn how to control the side effects of pain meds...
have you learned his MRI results yet?
No...guess we'll find out Tuesday...
I'm sorry...perhaps I'm asking too personal of questions. :S
No, not at all...
good thing they let him out without knowing that first? I think.
That is the thing about meds. They have side effects so you take other meds to combat side effects&then those medicines have side effects. It's a vicious cycle
True, Min...
Pretty sure it will show a tumor around the cervical vertibrae....
That doesn't sound good Jellen.
I hope its treatable?
They have a clinical trial they want to start him on...
Oh Jellen I hope not!Why do you think that's the case
But there are no guarantees with melanoma...
Doctor was 80% sure based on his MRIs...
Well...will definitely continue to include you both in my prayers. {{{HUGS}}}
Thanks, Cath
*to let the 20% other side of the odds be the results*
Based on the CT scan, that is...
Just watched a good movie...
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo...it was subtitled, but held my interest...
I've never heard of it Jellen...what was it about? I don't mind subtitled movies.
I can't watch movies with subtitles. Don't like having to read subtitles throughout whole movie. Not fun for me, hoever, I am glad that you liked the movie Jellen.
It's about a journalist hired to solve a 40-year-old disappearance...
a suspense/drama type then! sounds interesting!
It's based on a book...there are several in the series, I think...brb
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (original title in Swedish: Män som hatar kvinnor – "Men Who Hate Women") is an award-winning crime novel by the late Swedish author and journalist Stieg Larsson, the first in his "Millennium Trilogy." At his death in November 2004 he left three unpublished novels that made up the trilogy. It became a posthumous best-seller in several European countries.
Men who Hate Women sounds familiar....errrr....the movie/book perhaps, I mean. LOL
Hi all. I have 165 words left; started early this AM and have been gone all day. I doubt if I can finish; but will try for half way maybe....
Hi, Nef!
same here nef, but down to 104 now...just came back about 1/2 hr ago. :S
Hello Nef! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle!
I have a story of clues in my profile if you need it Nef
hi Jellen. I have several friend who are reading that trilogy. I overheard 2 of them talking the other day and they were so wrapped up in the books I thought they were talking about someone they knew!
My sister is reading the books right now...
Thanks, Min; I will use it once I hit NBTs. (4 to go)
Down to 15 left!
how come oiltank isn't a word?
LOL Min....that's a cute clue story!!! :)
two words nef, methinks. lol
Go Jellen...8 minutes!
oh...sorry....1 hour 8 minutes
Thanks Cathyar
YOU can do it!
anda should be a word...*remembering Lawrence Welk*
Min....your hubby wanting the computer...you should be ca6/21ized for putting up with that! ;) heehee.
you should just ignore him and ne6/24 his demands. ;) lol
It is a never-ending battle with hubby over the 'puter
I am addicted to Babble and he's addicted to Farmville
LOL Cathyar!
lol...i don't mean it...just trying to help clue some more. ;)
interesting...to make our chats using clues. LOL
my na4/4 always said a good ge4/6 is hard to find! ;)
Just turned on Somewhere in Time an old Chris Reeve movie. I still ca 6/21 believe that Superman is gone!
love that movie
thank u min...i didn't have that one! :)
Hi, Une!
hey, jellen! :-)
I've read al three Stieg Larsson books and seen the first movie -- just loved it. I see the second movie is now out (with subtitles). It was so interesting to hear the Swedish pronunciations.
Hello Uneaixoise! How are you doing? Welcome to grid
hi Une! :)
Hello all!
Hi, jilli!
Hello jillibus! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
Hi Jilli! :D
I have 81 to go -- busy day.
loved the first movie too -- second one opens here July 30!
hey, cathyar :-)
*stealth hugs cathyar and uneaixoise and Min and Jellen and Jill and...*
hey, stiddy!
may I have help on the CA 7 please? my last C word
Lucky you, une1 I hope it comes here -- we just have one little movie theatre here.
Cute dog Cathyar! I ey 4/7 him in your profile. What kind of dog is it?I have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
Hi stiddy!
so sorry to have read about your vision problems in the chog :-(
Hi STID!!! {{{{HUGS BACK}}}}
jilli, we have ONE arthouse theatre and that's where it will be showing :-)
hi jilli and stid! Workinghard on trying to get halfway through the grid right now; nose to the word box!
ca7/32 is an Italian pastry stidmama & welcome back
ca7 is Italian...um, dessert? I think
another one I didn't have Min...thanks! :) He's shih-tsu and we think part lhasa apso
yep, pastry
thanks Une. I will be okay, just requires a major rethink of lifestyle and activities. I will still make it through the master's I think, but the leisure reading will have to wait until I don't have to study.
got the italian pastry! thanks!
Well, our local one did show the first movie -- but the time I went there weren't very many there so I hope that didn't influence them.
yw
you have such a fantastic attitude, stiddy!
the two EN 7 please?
What's this about eyesight problems, stid?
I will try to use a clue each time I write Cathyar, but da 4/7 it is going to be difficult!
i just keep thinking the ca4/9 when you talk of desserts. lol
jilli, our little theatre stays afloat via donations -- would never make it as a commercial venture
en 7/28 is e plus na 6/18 word and en 7/32 is not the beginning plus that no 4/4 word stidmama.
plus it's on the National Historic Registry
LOL Min...no doubt its difficult
the problems reading have to do with eye strain, Jill. Glasses won't help because nothing is technically wrong -- it's just the muscles fatigue. On the other hand, I was having trouble with blurry vision, which it turns out was from the cornea drying out unevenly. Eyedrops and ointment are already making a big difference.
thanks Min! you're MAHVELOUS, darling!
Cathyar,I got my dog from my Uncle who is an ag6/24
I guess ours stays afloat by showing all kinds of movies. It's not just an art theatre. It's in what was a little church once and has moveable seats, so can be used as a meeting hall in daytimes.
Min...you are Brilliant!!! :)
yw
that's encouraging, stid . . .
cutting back on drinking stid will help with the blurriness
Hello rururocks! How are you doing? Welcome to grid!
ruru, you're BAD!
yep, ours is a movie theatre AND a venue for live music and small theatre productions
LOL ruru -- if I drank, I would try that remedy, for sure!
Hi, ruru
*giggle*
I got him when he was a puppy, but now he has ag4/7
hi jellen
LOL ruru! :)
okay, the very last KA word please?
well.. stid.. at least that works for me...
ours used to have a resident cat, who would come in and sit on people's laps. He was killed in a car accident and now the theatre is named Fritz after him.
The ka 6/30 rhymes with the na 6/18 word stidmama.
still stuck on your ag6/24 clue min! lol
ka a n short of a country
gah. thanks again Min!
My Uncle is an ag 6/24 since he's my father's brother.
