Evidently, he's been reassigned to help clean up a mess left by a previous minister...don't know the story...
We're Methodists, so clergy assignments are handled by the church conference...

In that case, it will be good. There is also that side of the "coin" as well. We had a pastor who was left far to long at our church before our conference moved him to a new congregation. Being such a small church we can no longer afford to pay the salary and all the conference apportionments for a pastor. We got someone new this year and she seems nice but the previous pastor just made my spiritual journey very difficult so I stopped going. Perhaps I'll get back
just the opposite for me.....we had a great pastor-spirtually he fulfilled y needs probably 45% of the church are folks well into their 70's the pastor made changes that they were not in agreememt with-on more than one occasion the Bishop received complaints - bottom line in he was transferred to another parish
We have had a few ministers that were on their way out of service and a number who were on their way up.
the ones that are "on their way up" are the hard ones (we have had a number of those because their pay is, well, cheap) then once we've broken them in/trained them they get moved to a better church and we start all over again. It's hard being a "training ground" every 2 years.

sometimes our methodist conference forgets about the high needs of small rural/country churches.
Actually, we're a medium-sized church, so we don't get the brand new clergy...I could see how that would be frustrating!
I used to play the piano every sunday until the previous pastor came. I couldn't find a reason; through her sermons, to continue and I'm "rural" enough that its 30 miles to a "medium-sized" church.

They went crazy in Victoria and have closed 7 churches and hope that everyone will go to one "hub" church. Then they closed the hub church and are making everyone meet in the hall until Lent so people are still feeling like they don't have a church. AND they want to change tthe name of the hub church, which everyone will still call St.Paul's no matter what they call it. I can't believe how this is going to keep the few who still attend Sunday services attending!!!!

I don't live there anymore... but family does. My mom passed away 3 years ago, and I know she'd be sad. It all comes down to money, doesn't it? I don't know the secret of the Evangelical churches... they are flourishing, which is good, but why can't the old churches.... it's sad. I finished the grid befo4/7 so here is a story of clues I babbled using Lickety's at no4/4 on my lunch hour.I finished.I tried to think of a story of clues as I ro4/5 home from work today.Then I had to re4/5 my words in Babble as soon as I walked in the do4/5 when I got home.Babbling is the first thing I do when I get home because I ad4/5 this game&I'm fo4/8 of the babblers here. Sometimes I am fo6/30 of babblers than I am of my own husband who ir 4/5 me with his snide Babble remarks when I started the grid. Now I'm going to go eat some on5/10 soup. School is going well for me,thanks stidmama.The year is whizzing by! This year is a learning experience for me. I am teaching 7th graders.I've never taught 7th graders before. I have a student who's very annoying

The curriculum is pretty well set. It's made up by the district. I started the year with Social Studies & now I am doing some Science. I've been teaching matter, physical properties & chemical properties & elements
those can be interesting science lessons!
