I opened Frank's email yesterday morning. It was heartbreakingly sad. I read it, re-read it and read it a third time. There was no mention that this was to be kept quiet. I immediately logged onto Babble, seeking comfort/support. I was told to 'Keep my gob shut', and told not to be inconsiderate. JC I am glad that you are now aware that Frank did not ask that this be kept a secret.
Ican not post to the site in bab anon, but I wish to add my hugs to all NB's friends. I know that I always read his posts with baited breath because I never knew what bad was going on in his life. For being so young, he had a rough time of it. My heart's best wishes go out to his spirit and all his friends.

Yes, because you should've respected that it was sent to you in a private email. Which incidentally I happened to make possible by against what should've been my better judgment, giving Frank your name and email address and suggesting he include you as a recipient - which he was quite hesitant to do at first. It's his place to tell, not anyone else's. He also told Laura and myself as we were in a chat with him at the time he wrote and sent it, that he didn't want it broadcast in here, which is why he preferred to email privately. He probably assumed he would be given enough respect to allow him to share the news himself - when he saw fit to.

Nef - there is much concerning her and things she has done off of here that you are very unware of. Suffice it to say, she had that coming. She should've respected that Frank should be given the right to be the one to share the news on here - and that he sent that to her in a private email for exactly that reason. It's common courtesty and respect to allow him that. She merely wanted to be the one to tell everyone. After some things she has done I have quite good insight, and she had no communication with Jesse for many months, incidentally.

Well we were under the very strong impression from Frank that he wanted to be the one to break the news to Babble in public. We were not aware of what he wrote in these few emails. We thought he would make that very clear. Apparently through some oversight he did not. So we were concerned that rumors would start to fly if any mention was made in public. We were just trying to respect what we were sure were Frank's wishes.

However, I have to say that if I had known him, and received an e-mail notifying me of his death with no wishes that it be kept secret, I might easily interpret that e-mail as a wish that others would be notified, as obviously those who put it in the chat did.

Don't know Broll. All I know is that Frank didn't want the news to leak out like this, as gossip and speculation. I don't know why he omitted asking people to keep it to themselves for now. Knowing his feelings on the issue caused a bit of upset when we saw it being brought up.

Understandable. But there are two sides to every story (or e-mail). Perhaps if the circumstances had been more fully explained at the announcement, as you later did, there would have been no rumors and speculation, and people could express their condolences and move on, without accusations and hurt feelings.
The fact that it was sent in a private email should've actually sufficed - what is said privately isn't usually to be shared publicly. Frank deserved to be given the space to do it himself as he saw fit. We are very concerned for him as he's going through a terrible time of it right now. Frank wanted to avoid the horrible rumours that some have started about Jesse on here, sadly. Does anyone even consider how we are feeling - just over a fortnight since Jesse's passing? What you aren't privy to and don't have any idea of, please don't make assumptions about - there's more to things than some of you are aware.

I remember a hail storm here one summer when we had hail-stones like tennis-balls. Wrecked the garden and terrified the cat.... and us. we thought windows would go in.

how is fixing the water damage going, lyn? And has the water level abated now?
Fixing hasn't really started - not surprisingly most trades are 'swamped' with work at the moment - there has been a lot of damage. Locally the water started going down when the rain stopped and the tide went down - the canal near here is a natural creek which ends in the Bay as well as the main outlet for stormwater drains for surrounding suburbs
am glad the water has started to down. I hope you are not uncomfortable until the damage is fixed? I can imagine you will have to wait, must be very long waiting lists right now.
my damage is minimal really, only issue is if any heavy rain starts as it would cause further damage to ceilings. We took up the wet carpet in Jessies room (which we had planned on doing in the future anyway) as we had already sanded and polished the floor there when we first moved in

Dean Koontz has two publishers, and one isn't scary. Some of his are awful scary though...totally agree!
some of King's books just give me a bad feeling. Others are simply brilliant. I love almost everything Koontz wrote. His psychology is so good.

I truly love Firestarter, The Stand and... oh dear, don't remember the name. The book about the man who comes out of a coma and can foresee the future when he touches a person. He ends up saving the world from a terrible dictator. Beautifully written.

I watched part of a stephen king movie in the middle of the night when i was feeding my baby and I swear I could not sleep for the rest of the night. Every single time I saw a storm drain or a blue chevy ( I think it was a chevy but I suck at identifying cars) Ifreaked out

it is a lot to worry about, rubyfoo. I think they will let him go ho4 as soon as they think it is safe to do so. If he really starts perishing because he refuses to eat, they might be able to give him sustenance in another way.
I bring him food, but once they put it in the fridge for the next meal, he stubbornly won't ask for it.
I think he'd be better off here with me, his pups, his TV, etc. I also think he needs a different antibiotic
his doctor will come and see him and I will arrange for the visiting nurse to come
Molly, maybe it isn't so much changing the feeling of sadness for that of gratitude, as accepting that both feelings are part of mourning? It is that way for me, anyway.

You've got that exactly right FM... when first you have to sort of boil off the liquid it creates, before you can crisp it,... it's not dry cured... done in a brine with artificial flavours, etc.

oh and if anyone was here last night when i mentioned my sister's dog - she is ok too. she was better by the time they got her to the ER vet, and that vet thought PROBABLY she had a thing that they can medicate, and they recommended just taking her in to the regular vet today to get tests and things, because they are more expensive at the ER vet.
did not see last nights post by you, Hurshy..hope the dog will be on the mend soon.
am sorry about the puppy...i hope all turns out to be an easy and non stressful fix for puppy :)
well the doggie is getting on in years, at least from my understanding of pure breed lifespans. but, if she can still go on reasonably healthily and happily for awhile yet, i know my sister will be very happy about that.
( the cookies.are surprisingly good....first bite was...a kind of "huh?" moment for the mouth...but actually pretty good..marshmallows were yummy too they put hot chocolate mix and cinnamonin the bread crumb mixture )

Soodlebum, everyone else who received that same email as you was able to be discreet. You received that email precisely because JC suggested to Frank that you be included. I am sorry for the tone in which you were spoken to, but knowing that Frank wanted it to be kept private, not knowing that he failed to mention this, and seeing it appear in public was disturbing. Everyone else had the good grace to keep it to themselves. And as far as what Jesse would have thought of "someone's" judgmental behavior, he would have been behind it 100%. You people have no clue what that someone meant to Jesse, no clue about the many things he did for Jesse, that Jesse and Frank both felt eternally grateful for. Jesse and Frank were engaged because of that someone, and that someone was to be Jesse's best man at the wedding, a wedding that now will sadly never take place. I rarely chat here, but I was here while all the unpleasantness was taking place, and I can now see why Jesse himself detested some of you, and called you "the coven". Have no doubt that Jesse would have stood by "someone" 100%.

Oh, my dad broke his leg a few weeks ago, had surgery, and is now in rehab. Was looking forward to going home but his wife decided she can't live on her own any more and wants to go into assisted living near her children (hundreds of miles from where they live now). He doesn't want to, they argued, and now she says she's leaving him. I'm going out there end of next week, when he's supposed to be released, now to an empty house???
So it's upsetting. BTW, he's 89 and she's 85. And I'm over a thousand miles away.
and how long has he been married to this woman?

It's really sad, because they had many happy years together; I think neither one of them is thinking straight. But her son is driving out this weekend, presumably to take her home with him. (And he's a psychotherapist - shouldn't he know better???)

He certainly can be a difficult person, and it may very well be that assisted living is appropriate for them at this point in their lives. But they need to talk about it and be reasonable! And yes, I think she did realize this, and that's what 's scaring her.

Oh no, uu, the race was great, I had some training issues and then found that I was mentally unprepared for the last 3-5 miles. So I did not execute the race well, thats all.

well, acceleration is the change in velocity, and it takes a force to change your velocity - maybe connecting acceleration with force would help. Some college texts are starting with forces and then doing kinematics later; I would think that could also work with younger kids.

I'll repeat, for those just coming on. I am a good friend of Jesse's (Nancy Boy). Jesse wanted to go to Korea last August to see his family. His doctor told him he would not need malaria protection, since he was Korean. He got bitten by a mosquito there, and got malaria. A particularly difficult strain to treat. It damaged his liver and caused severe weight loss and anemia. He nearly died. The hospital overdid the blood transfusions, and Jesse had to have chelation to get the excess iron out. This made him violently ill, and further damaged his liver. A transplant was needed. His partner, Frank, was found to be the same rare blood type, so he donated a portion of his liver. Unfortunately, the anti-rejection drugs lowered Jesse's immunity to infection, and he caught glandular fever. This became pneumonia. After a few days of being intubated, he died, very quietly, with Frank, his partner, by his side.

Jesse and Frank were engaged because of that someone, and that someone was to be Jesse's best man at the wedding, a wedding that now will sadly never take place. However, the internet, as Herin has just proved by popping in from the other side of the world, is such a good tool for everyone from eveywhere just talking. Sometimes, as in terrorist cells meeting, it is a bad thing. But, most times, I think, it is a tool for more understanding. Especially for we Babblers as we trade 'local' words and perhaps tease one another.
