gd morning everybody
or do F5 on the keyboard splasher. Morning/evening all.
the great weather continues!
Hi FM
Hi Ruby
It does here too ruby, we are warmer than most of Europe. Hi Glan.
I'm in Norfolk at the moment and it's glorious here
mmm Cromer crabs.
it's perfect and cool at night and then gets pleasantly warm (75-80) in the afternoon) and because of the cool nights, the tulips have held on
May get ne soon!
Ok..It self corrected.
Cromer crab that is!
lol I guessed that is what you meant. So scrummy.
It was always a treat as a child when staying with Grandparents in Yourkshire. After a day at the beach we would buy a big live crab straight from the boat and cook it for tea.
i like them much more than lobster
I'm writing down the name, have never seen a crab that big! will google it later
my parents live in Ceredigion and someimes my mum gets a crab as a treat for me while i visit
and much more reasonable
Cromer is a place |Ruby
apparently more 'velvet' crabs are caught off the UK than anywhere else and they all go straight to europe because we do 't eat them
or is it spider crabs?
Same with crayfish and langoustine. 80% of our fish and crustacia is expored which is such a shame.
Are you on holiday and chilling out for a bit Glan?
and here you can't get decent fresh seafood, only the occasional little fish from the lake (actually lunch today)
i love oing to brittany, not least because of the plates of 'fruits de mere' in restaurants
I ahve taken my parents to visit my brother and am partly chilling out
hard to completely chill out when father has alzheimers
Oh ditto!! Went to a wonderful seafood resturant overlooking Mont St Michelle and ate the freshest fish washed down with a crisp white wine. Heaven.
he sat in the front seat of my car for the 6 hour journey and he switched the hazard lights on, opened the door twice, removed his seatbelt several times, and fiddled with the driving mirror
j
Oh that is hard Glant but at least you are away from Mr Nasty.
not to mention emptying the contents of my dashboard cupboard and delaminating my parking pasLOL
that sounds live heaven, FM. Mt. St Michel is one of my most favorite places. Have Kept a 19th c. photo of it on my wall for years
yay for Glanta's freedom!!!
I was grinning mostly but the door opening was a bit scary when I was driving at 60 mph
and yes, nice to be away from Hideous
I love Mt St Michel too but it gets very crowded
It was ruby, we were staying in a gite near Aramanches (sp) for 3 days and then drove down to the Loire ending up in Sancerre - one of my most favourite places in the world.
Avranches
aaaah, Sancerre!!!!
Never been to Sancerre - must add to wish list - why do you like it so much?
I just looked from the shore, being too afraid to cross the causeway....
There is a similar Mont just off the coast of Cornwall near Penzance - but not as pretty
It is a small town on top of a hill surrounded by vineyards and the sunsets are just sublime. Stayed at the Hotel Panoramique which is built into the side of the hill, and to sit on the balcony with coffe and cognac after a good meal in the town square is ... just ... *sigh*
I saw an Inspector Lynley mystery the other night, set in Cornwall, and it looked very appealing. It's on my wish list
is it very picturesque?
The lsles of Scilly need to be on everybody's wishlist - they are stunning
but you have to like boats as that is how yu travel between the islands
where do you get a boat for those islands, glant
from Penzance in |Cornwall, although it's possible that boats go from France too
Yes and of course visiting the wine producers is great fun. HAven't been back there for quite a while now but went 3 times when you could still afford to stock up on great wines.
I went by helicopter from Penzance
must go and start my day, see you l ater
I have never visited a vineyard but have drunk lots of wine LOL
bye Ruby
Bye ruby
probably ought to go and be sociable with family - was hoping to et to half way first but still have 59 left
and I must get organised for the day too. TTFN
bye
good morning all
pa
sorry, fingers vs keyboard error
Hello, sprite. Rather quiet here.
it is. Glad to see you. How are you today?
Not so good, truthfully. Not much else to say. Good to see you too.
I must go. Take good care of yourself.
hello again
No need to say much else, I know days like that. Or times like that. May you find a moment of balance and a ray of light somewhere today.
back for a couple before apero and lunch
thanks BabbleRabble, you do the same, as well as you can.
hiya rubyfoo. How was your birthday?
hello BR if you are still here!!
{{sprite}}
the birthday was splendid and your icon was delicious!!! Between Babble and Facebook, birthdays become extra-special!
Husband was an absolute prince for 3 1/2 days, something of a record.
how are you doing?
they do, don't they :) Glad you liked the icon. There were quite a few especially for you.
oh wow, how lovely! See, he does appreciate you. Wonderful he was able to show it.
I saw them and it really tickled me. And I told everybody that it was wildcat's b-day, too, so was able to share much of the good will and love
all I know about her is 1) that she's sweet, 2) that she lives in Austin where my son is and 3) that she loves animals. She's much more private than we are....lol
and on Monday, as a late b-day present, FM and Crossy helped me get fireworks.
I am doing okayish. "practising" keeping my panic / overload reactions as low as possible while my neighbours have their house built out. Lots of noise. And angry shouts from the workmen, which trigger me more than I'd thought.
I will add her to the list for next year then.
that is terrible, sprite. Ear plugs and/or xanax ight help. Or maybe music in "ear buds". My housekeeper, who has terrible tinnitis, wears ear buds and listens to music all day, to keep out the unpleasant noise
everybody was complaining about yesterday's grid, but this one seems harder to me
I wish you could come here where the only noise comes from the birds, although there is an annoying cuckoo across the way who never stops
I've only seen her once, but she goes on all day!
would be wonderful if I could do that. But I cannot wear ear plugs when in panic or close to, because that adds to the anxiety and feelings of not being safe. I do have pills to calm me when having a panic attack, but those don't help against the overload of the system. It's a bit complicated. Yesterday's grid was not too bad, except for a few words. I ended up with one word missing from most tiles, lol. And those were odd words. Am halfway this one, so far so good.
uh oh. hoofbeats upstairs so I have to go. See you soon, sweetie, and I hope you can "tune out" the annoyances
*poof*
LOL @ hoofbeats. Be sweet to the old horse ;)
I get something similar Sprite and ended up with beta blockers - they've been pretty good and I can leave themout if things are okay. You have my sympathies xx
sprite, not to but in, but i take a pill called buspar, daily, to keep me calm, help panic attacks
thanks granadan xx Will keep that mind. Maybe ask my doctor about them.
thanks ivesy, *going to look that up*
yw.. was a godsend believe me.
I see it is available for dutch people as well. Will certainly ask my doctor and psych. I have oxazepam for the panic attacks. But the system overload still happens. Was really ill last week (fever, soar throat and diarrhea) without any virus, just stress.
Good luck Sprite - its absolutely debilitating. I somehow started getting worse when my husband was around - and Lord knows he is the sweetest guy in the world. Got so bad I couldn't breathe when he came in from work - these things broke the cycle a little till I'd got it straight, now its supermarkets LOLs!
went thru that when my son was using sprite. stress causes so many illnesses. people dont realize what it does mentally and physically..
LOL oh dear, I SO can relate to that. Not with the husband part, thanks God, but with the supermarkets. Buying groceries is like running a marathon on one leg wearing a gag.
ivesy, that must have been awful. And you are totally right. My psychiatrist also says that scientists only now start to discover how stress influences every process in the human body, hence causing illnesses.
anyway, I must not complain. I was doing pretty well in learning to handle the whole issue, and this noise thing is just temporary. Once it is over, I will continue to get a bit better every day.
thats good sprite. i find that if my routine is upset in any way, i get panicky lol.. so set in my ways.
I understand. Routine helps to keep the panic down.
yes, u do understand.!lol.
:) Takes one to know one, right?
yes... :)
well, coffee time . hope u have a "mild"day sprite. take care
thanks ivesy, I hope the same for you. Enjoy the coffee!
Hello
hi lady *hug*
hugs
are you feeling a bit better than yesterday?
Hello Sprite, I haven't played Babble for ages, and I didn't expect to see anyone I knew still there!
Heyas kids ..
hey ExWren! Long time no see indeed. Nice to see you again. There are still lots of 'oldies' around here.
Speekin' of oldies ..
hey torgone! Also a long time ago. Great to see you again.
TORG hun you still here?
or speakin'
WRENnnnnnnnnie. I mised you
Yes, I can see one or two already. After my husband died, I went to stay with my son in Australia for two months, and just got out of the habit of babbling
Only just, luv ..
I feel better Sprite. Less hacking
Wren I am terribly sorry to hear about your husband passing
wtg lady. Fast recovery. Well done *hug*
must have been a rough time for you, Wren.
*hugs* ExWren
I'm going back to OZ in May for a month
Hello everyone. HELLO EX-WREN, GREAT TO SEE YOU!!!!!
hi lyn :) xxx
No I still have a bark happening just not letting it bother me
Wow, herin, Torgone and Lynxxx, good to see tou all, I'm amazed you still remember mexxx
that's what I mean, lady. Well done!
O wonderful Wren.
Torg you still in Melb?
*you
Hello everyone. I'm just here to stock up the PB with lots of chocolate and other treats since gr4 is in the gr4. I imagine there will be high traffic in there today.
Hi Molly
hi Molly :) I am secretly stealing in4 the PB for the chocolates.
Every single time Wren was in the gr**, we all thought of you! Your son is in Queensland isn't he? I hope he didn't get flooded
hi Molly
I am herin. I have tomorrow off, then to Sydney Sat. to visit a client, then home Sunday ..
I bought a cute little Bilby toy for my niece today
Torg is in Melbourne??! whereabouts?
you get around, torgone ;)
Go for it Sprite. Lots of yummy Easter treats in there.
*delicately drools on keyboard*
Staying near the airport in Tullamarine ..
cute Infernal
My son lives about an hour's drive south of Brisbane so the floods and the cyclone didn't affect him.
That is good
Torg you still here?
For the moment ..
I meant in Melbourn
Yes, I'm here till Saturday morning ..
Ok
:(
Ex-Wren, I remember you as well! Nice to see you, hope you're keeping in good health.
hi Haz
Hello, sprite - good morning/evening all.
Hi haz
morning Haz
phantom: ratbag
Have we all recovered from yesterday's moderately difficult grid? (Understatement font)
I was hopping for a bigger grid
my phantom of the day is brigand. I didn't mind yesterday's grid that mu4, although I ended up with one word missing from almost every tile. But I learned a few new ones that way.
just a tad difficult - compounded by a 'lot' of words that didn't get entered (I must learn to look after entering)
Evidently, there aren't many Mexicans here in Oz because there is no good tequila ..
lol lady... totally in easter bunny mood already, hopping around.
O yes
either that or they drank it all, torgone
lots of Mexicans down here - at least if you are from Queensland
Tequila? what sort we have Jose
Hello! Passing through and greetings to all. sprite cybernan had a great idea for an icon theme the other day - the view from my (office or home office) window.
Jose Cuervo = petrol
Or Talking from a NSW
morning FM
I don't drink the stuff
HI M
wow that's harsh Torgone
*hugs FM*
oh great one, will add it right away, FM
TTFN back in a bit once the cleaner has finished. We spent an hour gardening this morning and i am only just cooling down.
bye FM, enjoy the gardening and the cooling down :)
All right .. I'm off to spend some money in the hotel bar ..
Haz, I like the minutes in your profile very mu4! Am only wondering (knowing how precise you are) about the amount of 'symbol unknown' squares?
That cleaner is multi-talented, isn't he?
in case of doubt, torg, stick to wodka.
Have fun Torg
bye Torg
You know if we were closer
He is great - and runs errands for me too. *poof*
You do have some delightful beers here, of which I shall presently partake ..
I'm glad you enjoyed them, sprite. The original document was in Word and when I cut and pasted it, the funny symbols appeared. They're supposed to be quotation marks.
I suppose I should rewrite them directly rather than cut and paste. Or maybe people think it's a secret code.
It is cute as it is haz
yes, the 'curly' ones. Babble only accepts the straight quotation marks. I always change them when I copy something into my profile, when changing the icon theme :)
I didn't mean it in a critical way.
I know you didn't Sprite
No, I know. It frustrated me as well but obviously not enough to make me do anything about it!
*grin* I am sure you have better things to occupy your time.
Just a few! Is it going to be the same no matter what font is used?
No idea
yes. For babbly there is only one font, and it only accepts straight quotation marks, both single and double, and the 'normal' dash - (not the longer one).
babbly? Also known as Babble.
It is so good having 3 extra days off
Well, that saves me trawling through fonts, at least.
sounds lovely, lady. And well earned.
I think tomorrow is dedicated to just breathing
for a long text like yours, Haz, Search and Replace is perhaps the easiest way.
breathing is an art, lady. And 'just breathing' is meditation ;)
Yep
Thanks, sprite, I'll have a go.
if you want, I'll gladly do it for you, Haz, I have experience because of the daily change of icon text.
I found out today that one of the chefs at the local Missions helped Jamie Oliver with 15
hello all
hey TOwl :)
hi TOwl
fireflies! Good gr4, but some words that I never saw before. My favorite is the banded anteater.
hi spritey hi lyn
congrats Sprite!
ooh what does that begin with?
nu, TOwl
Loves Sprite
Lynxx you know Prahan City Mission?
*hugs lady*
oh good grief - and that's an Australian beastie. TY Sprite
ty all. time to get reafy for ork. happy babbling
I don't Infernal - rarely get down to Prahran nowadays
yvw :) Must love and leave you, Terra is overdue for an outing. *hugs*
It is on Chaple street?
enjoy ork TOwl
Chapel - not sure if that is a question or a statement but either way I don't know it
Ok that was a question. It is on Chapel Street um and do you know where the Arcade is?
any clue for the am7 ?
nope, sorry. Only arcade I knew in Chapel Street was the one Dan Murphy renovated back in the 70s!
Ok it is near there
am7 like the fluid a foetus is in, changethe ic for a vowel
Their new head chef is amazing
BBS Its started to rain heavily here, just need to batten down the hatches
hi Babblers.. volcano alert (-:
lynx...i must be spelling the fluid wrong...cant seem to get it
THanks for the warning Lynx

LOL
Hi Aloy
hi herin (-:
What the heck is the other 7

thanks
The missing 7 is ta7/40
thank you
ty, FM.. (( ))
yw and hello!
It is a blood sucking fly aparently.
gorgeous sunrise.. going to be hot and humid today.. ooh, looking for the fly
monkeys need more bananas
T'is already hot here, mind you it is just after 12.00 - am shedding layers of clothing :)
bingo! found the fly
yay!
hello again, only 35 this morning
hi ruby
hello aloy!
Afternoon ruby.
Hi Ruby and a clue for that TA 7
it is warming up here, too, FM. And I am preparing my garden plan for you!
hello herin, how goes it?
tuff to clue, thinking
excellent!
ta + glad there is a *** on DDT, + not the ego
oh well done Aloy - I was pondering how to clue that too.
mm

like *** the bomb!
Yep got it
double yay
wahoo! wtg
I'm just trying out a modification of Crossy's LI Iced tea and it doesn't taste like anything but should give me a good nap
two days of some very strange words
Took a moment
Brain not working
At least todays gr4 is SO mu4 better than yesterdays.
for me, at least the c's are crunched, but not much else....
TY Aloy
hi Ruby
Yesterday was one of the worst gr4's I remember in my time of babble.
{{lynxx}}
ty Aloy--that's fireworks for me
that e at the top has me befuddled
yay for Kateq, congrats!!
Hi lynxxx
Congrats Kateq
yay kateq!
attach a body of water for that e
em5.16 almost the same as the fire
the auction site with an extra consonant
em5/12 and em5/20
Lynxx thanks for the warning
ty all.. focus
ty all--have a lovely day!
bye, Kateq
and you too Kate
.. got the water one
.. and the other, no fish there for me
turn the water ending into a place where you get beer and wine :)
time for the list, methinks
lol, good clue FM
ty for the top e's!
water into wine....hmmm
and time for me to go and get some crusty bread if there is any left at the bakers. Lunch today is a concotion of ani pasta
no comment on FM's divinity (-:
FM is definitely divine!
air dried ham, salami, artichoke hearts, salad etc etc etc
yum, imagining fresh bread.. bye, FM.. have a wonderful day
yes, have a divine day!
I've gotten to be lazy, used to make homemade bread very often
bye FM, enjoy
Bye FM
LOL and hugs to all. *poof*
aloy" the trick is Bridgeford's frozen dough. Thaw it and make into braided shaes, then add big salt and olive oil and take all the credit for homemade!!!!
shapes*
lol, ok, ruby!
it is the best and easiest, aloy
will be making hot cross buns on Friday
I used to do that for "fancy" guests and they were always impressed!
O that sounds like a plan
I may make that butterscotch apple pie
oh, I miss hot cross buns but am too lazy to make my own....
enjoy baking them and giving them away.. ooh, that sounds good too herin
anything with butterscotch (or caramel - what is the difference, anyway) sounds good to me.
Awww Aloy. I have yet to make this pie see how it goes. I am horrified that they want you to use frozen short crust pastry
I use it.. haven't had much luck with homemade..
the frozen pastries here are not bad, and very easy. They have the "feuillete" one which is wonderful for turnovers and such
Pastry is different to Pastries
actually, they are just refrigerated, not frozen...
I used to love the par cooked bread we would get in.
Opps at my old work
what do I know? When I was a young bride, I used to make tarts with poached pears, creme anglaise, and my own buttery crust. But that's 100 yrs ago
O I am so wanting in on that Ruby
opp of good + opp of female is a word ! ba6 ..
woohooo. Breakfast Club is on. Before that 16 Candles
I love those two movies!!!
Have you seen 27 dresses, Herin? You would love that, too!
Yes that was great
morning, all!
Hi Uu
hello sue
fading fast; siesta time in Fr dixie!
hi sue
oh, dr4/5, I see that gr4/7 is in the gr4/7!

Ok I am gonig
bye, herin!
bye, herin, see you next time
bye herin
i thought i read you were on break from school
Hello everyone. Just restocking the PB. What with gr4 being in the gr4 and all.
personally i think i will follow the rule that typing gr** is exempt but a wise move to restock
and hi molly
hi Molly.. good idea! I have to go.. good luck with this gr4 - found it to be a challenge.. last word was a th5 on the head! see you next time, babblers.. ciao
bye snuffy
and ty got two words from that
Good Morning everyone!
hi red
Hey Red
about 50 billion 3 letter words but i am struggling with the rest
Hope everyone is haveing a nice day. I think I shall keep the sauna pants today
sauna pants?
Hooray for sauna pants!!!
look at the icon. perfect for the PB when the hot tub is out of service.
morning, red and molly!
:-) the tiny icon is still a flower thus my confusion
hello everyone
hi annie
Morning Annie, morning Sue.
hi jmc
wow this gr** is a bear!
hi, annie!
if ba 6/30 is a word, why not apeman 9as in Tarzan)
hi uu
and hi to Molly
just what i thought!
I agree Annie.
so I got an email yesterday from a guy who writes for a newspaper called New Europe - he wants to republish my Science or Bunk article!
Nah, jmc, a breeze ... a walk in the park .... just find the next word until there is no next
Very cool Sue!
Hi BR!
hi, BR!
great, sue
*Lines up to get Sue's autograph*
thanks for the helpful advice BR
lol, molly!
ok... i would like to protest that mu5/18+y is not a work...
neat uu
*word
*notes protest in giant protest of lack of words*
personally I always spell it with -ie, rolin, but that's just me...
Agreed Rolin. Even worse is that it would probably accept the ies version of that word.
*puts back next to larger book for protest of fake words*
aaah...uu... oooops jmc
did I say something?
uh huh
gi5/14
so I did lol *trundles off to pb*
Cool. The inferno guy is in the gr4
it is amazing to me how i can enviably use a word in the gr** that I haven't used in months if not years
well, I didn't have that one, jmc, so thanks! :-)
me either! lol
inferno guy? Oh, THAT inferno.
There is more than one inferno guy???
there is an inferno?
always the last to know...
probably on TV or video games or some other venue with which I am not familiar.
the book red
Or the disco inferno guy. Burn baby burn.
the trampps! disco inferno! love it!
the owner of the inferno perhaps
the fallen angel
It won't take apeman????
*Sneaks into PB to nab a chocolate marshmallow egg*
and why isn't rabe a word? I can buy broccoli rabe in my grocery store...
yeah kap but it takes ba6
I protested that a while back, kap...but it takes ba 6/30
my thought exactly uu
*Indignant Babblers stomp their feet and shake their fists in the air*
that's absurd. I wanna sail away to a distant shore!
why, did you use a word in the gr**, molly, or do you just want a chocolate egg?
Chocolate cravings Sue.
oooo sounds fun kap which shore?
blech too early in the morning for chocolate
...and live like an apeman.
hmmm you lost me there i want a nice hotel
how can it be too early in the morning for chocolate? Hot chocolate! Chocolate croissants! Chocolate chip pancakes!
*turns slightly green*
The Kinks, Jm.
There is a time of day for chocolate? *Horrified look* I thought that was just booze.
JM is turning into broccoli.
see? no matter what time of day or night i come in here,it is always about chocolate....
Mimosas!
It's not easy being green.
There is a time of day for booze? *horrified look*
i am buying solar panels so there :-P
Sauna pants are cheaper JMC
(although that is one of my favorite kermit songs)
but they generate less electricity, molly
but solar panels pay me money
the sales boys are sooo cute with all the talk about rebates and credits and stuff
i said i was at the first earth event in texas and started recycling in 1969 so the panels are not about money to me and THEY looked shocked!
They are telling stories about you in the break room JMC.
Another gripe...pa4 and ma4 are clearly abbreviations, which, according to the "rules" are not allowed. Harumph.
a standard set of panels for one side of the roof of an average house including installation=30,000....cost to generate for homeowner=13 cents per kwh...rebate of selling back to grid(canada)69 cent per kwh..total time to pay off panels=10 years..warranty on panels=ten years lol
*Guessing Cross does not know about gr4*
bah..there will have to be an exemptuon on that or everyone will be in there
ma4 isn't even an abbreviation it is an acronym. However pa4 is OK archaic big cat
effectivness of panels diminishes 1-2% a year so at the end of ten years it is all yours with 50-70% capacity left and no warranty..good luck
oh and now your shingles need replacing under thoose panels...
Hi crossyhair - is a windmill a better buy then? I have wondered about those twisted vertical ones that don't take up so much space.?
green energy is a tough go.we have several here with panels..there are wind turbines that seem to have some promise better than those darn towers anyways
sorry that should have been crosshair
yes the turbines scouser
I'm talking about the ma4 that is short for sandwich spread. And the pa4 that is short for your other half.
Vowels :(
they are much like a jet engine on end
sorry my stupid son called and i got distracted let me go back and read and catch up
From Help: TYPES OF WORDS NOT ALLOWED Proper nouns, abbreviations, contractions, hyphenated words and foreign words that are not in the Enable Dictionary.
My favorite part of that is "foreign words that are not in the Enable dictionary". What? It gets to pick and choose?
Note "that are not found in the Enable Dictionary." Those that are in the Enable Dictionary ARE valid.
problem with turbines is they are milder climate devices..imaginge going out here some feb morn in a blizzard to de-ice the thing
Types of words allowed: Hebrew, Welsh, obscure and unused, Spanish, French.
At the discretion of the Enable Police.
Ok Molly . I only got as far as the first ma4/6 !
actually crossy 1/2 of my roof (which is covered with a membrane with a 30 year warranty) is costing $10k before rebates etc.
yian
sorry.
and it should provide about 50% of my electricity
sounds good, jmc!
that is there jmc..we pay dearly for cross border tarrif on much of that stiff
crosshair - yes I notice that the big commercial windmills out in Liverpool Bay seem to be feathered more often than running - presume weather conditions matter a lot.
why, kap? wasn't a word...
KAP!! type a word I could use :-(
wrong box.
hell, our dollar is 5 cents over yours now and we still pay ten grand more for certain car models
oddly the panels i am getting are made in canada
there's a windmill farm just south of me that seems to run most of the time, and our weather is not exactly mild
and fethering a turbine is more complex
Kap, almost Easter dispensation from your Irish Shiksa friend.
I've decided to use another dictionary- the DISable dictionary, where everything is a word and all my dreams come true.
they do not have de-icers like jet engines on planes
and I thought the trade agreement between mexico canada and us took care of the tarriffs
Good yntiff.
check it out jmc..price a car,any car there then here in lets say toronto
I heard on ra**** the other day that government grant scheme for home-generation has fallen into disarray because small firms have cashed in on it too, so there are some casualties already. They did not draw up the scheme tight enough and now, who knows?
I'm with you Kap.
i believe you crossy just confused
but do not forget to add taxes, freight and shipping
(even more confused by kap and molly)
*Passes JMC a shot of Jack, since time of day is not an issue*
anyway, time for my minimal stab at exercise, back shortly
mmm jack and scrambled eggs.....

Mom, good luck on your dress quest....I know you will get a dress today.
Oh, for pete's sake.
PB for me.
I hope so, Annie. There is will lots of stores to choose from.
I'd better come back later.
Whitney's mom got her dress and it is pink, so I can move on from there
there will*
Mom, I bought a dress for my grandson's bar mitvah in June and it is pink, black and white.
that sounds pretty, Annie
hi Annie
Mom, does this mean you have to wear pink too, or compliment it?
It is a nice dress and I am so relieved the dress searching is over.
I think compliment it
hi lynxxx
If it is pink, i think any pastel would work
Well then, that gives you more room.
it does, and good morning
Annie, your dress sounds lovely.
thanks, Molly...
Both Moms in pastel sounds pretty. It will make for nice pictures. Are you getting excited Mom?
I am but so full of anxiety
70thy word = volcano - how embarassing
My son's wedding was one of the most fun days of my life. The service was beautiful and the reception was a great party.
thanks Lynxxx
I always miss that one Lynnx.
It will be a lovely day.
musn't worry Mom, no point, enjoy the party!
Mom, what are you and your son dancing to?
Mom, it will be lovely
I am trying. I keep telling myself it is like sitting in a rocking chair. It gives me something to do but I don't get anywhere
remembering the poker stake and volcano as a twofer helps me
Ah, palindromes.
Molly, there will be no dance. It is just a ceremony with parents, grandparents and siblings
then well will all go for cake
once they return from their honeymoon they will have a party and all the families and friends can come
hey, mom -- sounds lovely!
thanks Annie for the confidence
Hi ((Une)) thank you, I think it will be also
I'm sure it will be a lovely day Mom.

Hi JBV

how are things in Brooklyn today?
I'm not sure, BabbleRabble, but they claim to have made the first pencil.
Hello, JBV and Annie.
sunny, cool and pleasant today, jbv
www.pencilmuseum.co.uk - visited it years ago and found it very interesting.
Number 1 pencils BR? You don't use HB type gradings in the States?
Cannot recall that type, Lyn. Then again, I have not bought a pencil for decades.
It appears you don't, your #1 = The rest of the World's B
We use the HB grading system over here as well.

Hi Eva. I was just thinking about you as I was reading about how Reese Witherspoon wore cowboy boots at her wedding. Another bridal wear pioneer.
well, my sister had to put her dog to sleep last night. :(
i think she also wore a pink dress, no? of course, this was her second wedding...
Aw Hursh, sorry to hear that.
oh, hurshy. sorry to hear that. :(
Hello, hurshy. It's a sad time, I know.
it is hard when you love someone who is hurting and you sympathize, to figure out what to do, when you aren't there for a hug. but, i did a couple of things, which hopefully will convey my sympathy well.
am sure your sister will understand whatever message you send hurshy
hi all
There's honestly not a lot you can do other than be prepared to be sympathetic and you've done that.
It's the time of adjusting to the dog not being there that's difficult.
Hello, science.
this dog just meant so much to her. it was her first that was really "hers" and saw her through HS, college, starting out in life, getting married...
I had a friend in a similar situation - her first proper dog for herself. It was very difficult for her to let go.
Being an understanding ear, and calling to check in on someone, are two of the nicest things you can do for someone who has experienced a loss.
and i appreciate you guys sympathizing with my sympathizing! :)
I entirely understand the feeling of helplessness and frustration at not being able to make it better for your sister.
thanks. so... seems like a very hard grid today... or is it me?

Although I might be dead if I pushed somethings further..lol

I have finally found a real butcher shop in this rurual community. HAd to queue to get in the door and I could have spent a fortune on the wonderful produce they had.
Fireworks!
yaa for helen!!
Congrats Helen
if you have to line up,it is usually worth the wait
I do not believe that I have monkeyed so many words, nor learned (or at least been introduced to) so many new words in such a short time EVER!
It was - all the meat is local and just looked sooooo good.

*looks at joints* mine are pretty ugly
wb uu
awe jmc - passes a pot of Vit E cream over.
hey babblers
Have just changed my icon! Not at my best today - maybe that had a tiny bit to do with the amount of monkeying - I actually had to monkey th ch4!
lol, mine too, jmc, and some of mine aren't even the originals!
see what you have done? now i shall have to stop and the butchers sometime today...

Hereford and Black Angus... still the best tasting beef. Those newer and larger breeds have an "odd" taste, yet the younger generation don't know the difference
mmmmm black angus beeef
The butcher I bought from today get his meat from the Goodwood Estate.
I have a healthy respect for anyone who knows how to wield a meat cleaver.
I guess it just depends on what we're used to
but i like charolais too

<----- Will work for fresh tomatoes
how about a glass of fermented gr5/16 ??
Hello Everyone :)
i grow them all summer long--just got my plants
hi sadie :-)
hiya diane :)
My plants have been in the ground for a few weeks. The soil needs to warm up for them to start growing though.
hmmmm now that you mention it diane *holds out glass*
have you ever tried any grown "upside-down", jmc ??
hi sadie
hiya jmc
I know people who have tried those topsy-turvy planters. None of them have had much luck.
i was at a restaurant that had tomatoes that looked good enough to taste one
I have to get my plants started this week
it will be at least 3 weeks before I can even dig my tomato beds.... still mega snow in the back yard :-(
*pops some corks and fills glasses*
i think it is hard enough to grow them right side up
*Holds out glass*
eek still snow diane!?
we NEED heat !
we get a lot of volunteer tomatoes from the birds :-)
yes... and not warm enough yet for rapid melting
i used to start them from seed but when my hubby died i decided it was one of the things i should give up and have been buying plants ever since
someone said back angus??....
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I get lots of volunteer everything from the bird feed... LOL.... sunflowers, millet, corn, etc.
oh, sunflowers, yes!
i gets lots of volunteer tomatillas and cilantro
crumbs, can't imagine having lasting snow still on the gound at this time of year.
the tomatoes don't come from the feed, though, exactly :-)
I don't get enough sun inside to start them from seed.
i used grow lights in my basement where i grew *ahem* other plants as well
I see crossy has woken up again at the mention of beef!
jmc!!!!
mmm black angus seeds....sorry lost my head there...besude the mrs will not let me keep a calf in the house

lol,now that is cute
ooooohhhhhhhh duh ty ty
i am in the fuel business,if i closed my eyes every time someone cursed at me i would have to apply for a seeing eye dog.....
No duh Sadie, I've never heard of that word. Most of the words in today's gr4 are gibberish to me.
yes alot of them are gibberish lol \
Crossy I have never uttered a swear word in my life.
lol i have received many
Makes me wince every time I hear swearing. Can't help it.
Poor Frances. Dr. God should be ashamed of himself making nice, respectable ladies type such things.
what is truly funny is when you get the blue haired upper crust type ladies with money unload on you so bad that the curses would make a sailor blush
I always tell the teenagers I hear swearing that it would appear to show that they lack vocabulary. You'd be amazed at how many times I get asked what I mean.
this is true frances,i go to drop off some papers and my sons school, and i see a group of vibrant ,beautiful young ladies then all of a sudden they open their mouths and our comes this filth and cursing and swearing...you stand there and think it is like watching a pretty flower that can shoot flames... very disconcerting
Crossy I hate it. When will they realise that they can be far more effective if they know how to use their language properly.
hey new babbler

*sigh* these are tasty noodles. but i made a point to order them spicy, and these hardly have any heat to them. i find that asian restaurants think that whiteys cant handle the heat...heh

------> Found written on bathroom wall "Eva likes it HOT!!" : P
it is the first time that i have ever "sensed" spicy just by looking at a dish
molly, who do you think wrote it there? ;)
lol
usually, when eating drunken noodles, i am glugging down my beverage (preferably milk or thai iced tea, but water would do in a pinch) but today, i havent even touched my drink, and im almost halfway through it...
what do you know about "lol".
k
this stuff is so hot,you do not use water! a bit of bread or some yogurt
so many people reach for the water, not knowing that it doesnt help with spicy food -- it can actually make it worse! but alas, if i have no milk onhand, i would rather have water than nothing...
my brother lillion is a mucha libre {sumo wrestler}.
i swear i lose weight when u eat that stuff

hi all just swinging through
I've been doing the same Eva.

prodigy go below the tiles stats and right click on Lickety's List and open it in another window and it will help you find words
spicy food doesn't seem to keep the weight off me :-(

Laptop fixed. Whew - was suffering Babble withdrawal. Hi everybody :-)
hi, soodle! Glad to hear about the laptop!
Hey Sue. Its official. I am totally dependant on my computer. I am a mere shell when its not working... :-(
lol, me too! If the computer (or even the Internet) goes down, I don't know what to do with myself!
hi soodle
How is your dad doing? And, I am almost afraid to ask, as I have been off line for a few days... How is your step-Mom?
Hey Kaz :-)
latest news on my stepmom is from Tuesday, soodle; she had a heart attack on Sunday and is hanging on.
Dad is doing fine; I called him yesterday to let him know about her, but he already knew because her son had called - not him - but his next-door neighbor. Sigh.
Hello all. Just starting up and glad to see soodle and uu along with the usual cast of characters.
does any one have a clue for the am 7 please
No kazzer, not I. No clue at all.

ah, sounds nice. It was sunny here too, earlier, but not especially warm.
I spent the entire day knitting in my brither's garden - and we had Pimms early afternoon - it was lovey
wonderful! you must be nicely relaxed.
Whats the opposite of chilling? Cos thats what I am doing! Workmen in every nook and cranny of Chez Soodle.. Painters, floor-mem. window men, dust and muck abound. But, the work thats been done looks spectcular!
Two days of doing nothing has left me absolutely shattered!
hot times at soodle's :-)
sounds like it's really going to look nice when they are done, though
I don't envy you Soodle - the dust taks months to settle - but I am sure it will all be worth it
hi glan
Hi Kazzer
actually I could do with a clue to the in6/27 that Cos was asking about
This work is being done to fix the damage done over the winter by a burst pipe. So for trhe last 4 months I've been living in the twilight zone. Now things are being fixed up. I am over the moon!

<---- watching live webcast discussion from the University of Chicago on Lessons from Fukushima, http://nuclear-discussion.uchicago.edu /
grats, cos :)
i bet that is interesting. my lesson is that nuclear plants are a lot safer than I ever thought to have mostly survived that much earthquake damage; the second lesson is don't build nuclear power plants on a fault line
actually most of the damage was done by the tsunami, which was a good 10 meters high at the plant; amazing.
but jam, that basically eliminates all of japan, and a lot of everywhere else...
OMG - the geese babies have hatched! I see little baby geese outside my window!
true, jes, and this was not one of the major known faults.
but not the middle of the US
Aren't they cute Sue. We have them at our lake.
how neat uu!
no, then you just have to worry about tornadoes instead, jam.
well, there is the New Madrid fault, site of the largest earthquake in the continental US (near St. Louis, 200 years ago)
kindle is starting a new program.. you can now check out books from amazon like you do at the library.. it will start later this year
Link to photo of our baby geese...http://tinyurl.com/3rm5glc
very cute, molly!!
I am surprised to hear it was the tsunami
hooray fireworks for me - off to the bath and have a soak before bed
you can already do that with our library and my sony reader cosd
whoo hooo kazz!
yay, kazz!
That's cool about Amazon Cos. You and I must stick together. We are the lone Kindle owners here.
thanks jmc and sue - i am really pleased coos this grid was well hard
we have a kindle and an ipad
the earthquake shut down the reactors (in a reasonably orderly way) but the tsunami took out all the power and backup power, and therefore all the cooling, which has been the source of all the subsequent problems
Oops, and Kazz too.
oh of course. so they really are pretty earthquake proof but not water proof!
*makes I <3 Kindle badges for Kazz Cosd and molly*
not at the point where the water sweeps away everything that isn't quite firmly attached...
well i know everyone else is convinced this is proof as to how dangerous they are but i got the exact opposite lesson--still worried about disposal but more worried about climate change
well before i start a fight I will leave and look at one last audit (then I am done for the day!)
Oh come on! Start a fight! : P
bye, jmc!
(and if I thought these questions had simple answers I would give them!)
Unless the mindset of humanity becomes one of problem solving rather than power, I believe Malthusian theory has some validity and Hawking may be right too.
and we are going to need a healthy dose of long-term planning or we are going to be in real trouble within 50-100 years (or sooner), as fossil fuels run out (never mind climate effects)
Yep.
hello everyone I'd like to announce that after 75 words I finally have nbt
yay, west!
'twas the y
Hello, westford.
thanks sue
That is entirely believable with this gr4 full of weirdo words.
hello bab
while I was searching morewords I came across youthquake..wonder what that could be
when a whole lot of young people jump up and down?
wild hormones?
hi all, not seeing the ab5
thi grid seems harder than yesterdays and that one was tough
ab + electrical term (curly word)
ab + the sound box you play a guitar through
sue we have been reading about the reactor disaster and it looks like it may take up 10 to 30 years to make it right
Youthquake: symptoms exhibited by our children after considering the status of the universe.
ty, new word for me
best example bab
I'm wondering what all the devastation in Japan is going to do to our Japanese imports, like cars.
west, not sure what you mean by "right", I've seen estimates of 6-9 months for the reactors to be cool enough to work on. Long-term waste disposal is an unsolved problem in any case...
so many American made cars use Japanese parts as well
Toyota has cut way back on production, I hear...
Merriam-Webster, youthquake: a shift in cultural norms influenced by the values, tastes, and mores of young people
I guess I should consider myself lucky that I bought my Hyundai in February.
sue, there are companies bidding on repair and cleanup now
so did we Molly but they're Korean
youthquake must be a portmanteau: a word or morpheme whose form and meaning are derived from a blending of two or more distinct forms (as smog from smoke and fog)
bab I suppose we could say FaceBook and Twitter are youthquakes
And that just goes to show how smart I am, NOT.
Hyundai has made big strides in the past few years
we just gave our 2003 Toyota to our daughter I loved that car
ok, have to get ready for class, talking about nuclear weapons today...
good luck sue talk about getting rid of them
molly still trying to think of word for sound box..do you play?
now stuck on the am7
indeed. (although it's a physics class so I try not to be political), I talk about how they work and how much damage they can do, and how many we have, and risks of proliferation and terrorism
favorite word today ba6/30
and so forth, and now I should go tell my class all these things :-)
plant the seed sue

... so big and so strong ...
how are things today bab?
we have sunshine and wind but it's nice to see blue skies
The days blend ... some hard ones and not so hard ones. My car is an old one. After spending a lot to get it running again ... the mechanic found another part than had to be replaced and made off to the salvage yard to get it.
good mechanic then
Seeing the sun and blue skies is most welcome.
are you done with snow?
cruising through (restless at work today) youthquake is a international gathering of young quakers
*pops back out*
very good jmc ( hi and bye )
Pretty much ... the dikes and sandbags are holding... not all of rivers have crested. Some rural areas have been hit hard .... the two who had heart attacks while sandbagging to save their homes are reminders of the power of nature -- even in a tangential way
I'm going back someday ...to blue ba5/20
Sound box...what you play a guitar through...there is only one word for that.
thanks molly I figured it out
Yep, Roy wrote and he and others sand it
sang*
bab that's so tragic about the sandbaggers
ta 7 -- what is used to stop the bleeding and cover a cut: ***d-a**
thanks again bab
we had a dog named that..
Good name
the cover a cut part..
Hello all. Hope we are well?
hi red, good here

our friend made guiness butter to go with Irish soda bread
had honey in it too
honey butter is YUM :)
I agree
that's good, i'd have to wonder about your sanity and good taste if you didn't. ;)
and it's all natural so it must be good for us too
i dunno about that. Rattlesnake venom is all natural and 100% organic...
back from class (short one today)
cannibal feasting on a clown: this tastes funny
hi, uusue :)
lol jes I won't put it on my bread then
*snort* thanks, rab
good plan, west :)
hi again sue
Classes tomorrow Sue? Or is the University closed for Good Friday?
oh gosh, Molly, the only holiday we have all spring is Martin Luther King's birthday.
And the only ones in the fall are Labor Day and Thanksgiving.
We do have an open house for prospective students tomorrow, though, so they can visit while the university is in session.
Would anyone be willing to part with a clue for the da6/27?
a pretty little girl might be called this
If she was petite and small and impeccably mannered.
ah, thanks, west! Not an adjective that ever applied to me, I'm afraid!
something delicate.
hi all
My Aunt used to call her underwear her da6's
Oh oh no, late to the clue partie.
morning all
hi, lynxxx!
hi lyn
Hello Lynxxx and TO.
hi lyn here to join the da6/27 club?
For no particular reason, I've decided to put on a pot of gumbo tonight. I figure it will be good for lunches over the long weekend.
hi TO saw the robot on TV
sounds quite good Molly.
hello red hello west
certainly not me
I want a long weekend.
it does molly only way I like okra
to lounge around in your sauna pants?
*unlurk....***fireworks***
hello jilli and yay !!
congrats Jilli!
congrat jili
I don't put okra in my gumbo. Okra is only good for one thing. Sticking the tops to your forehead. Don't knock it if you haven't tried it.
yay, jilli!
lol molly
gawd, this was a horrible gr4! Full of useless words and babblets. I lose patience with gr4s like this and go to morewords.
okra looks interesting as a floral decoration too
fuzzy on the outside slimy on the inside
I want to know who decided that a slimy seed pod would be a good thing to eat?
is anyone interested in a morewords shortcut method? I mean a trick to make it easier to use...
we think alike molly
da 6/27 delicate, as in tiny Victorian lady.
Hey all! Long time no see. How is your today?
probably someone hungry. I do not mind okra at all. but...
actually I kind of like okra in soup...
sure Jilli
hello yadn
hi Yad
okra is useful as an aggregate concocted to repair pot holes in streets.
Some time ago Gremlinn gave a very useful hint about using morewords -- type a ^into its box and then the letters which are missing from the grid. Copy it (Ctrl + C). Then when you go to morewords, enter the first 2 letters and a - for the rest of the letters needed. Paste (Ctrl + V). Hit Enter and the list will be much shorter. Saves time.
we need some here then
i keep seeing tabard
thanks jilli I copied it..hope I'll be able to use it
heading home, bbs
Okra adds a peppery taste to gumbos and jambalayas imho
why wouldn't you be able to, west? (and hi!)
see you soon sue
ttfn uu!
I like it in gumbo
because it might not work on my mac
Never have used babble expert
i don't think i like this gr4
we're having pizza and salad tonight because the set tubs are full
so can't use dishwasher
set tubs?
what is a set tub?
tubs by the washing machine where the water drains
babrab, it's such a great help! Even if you don't use Lickety's list, the Lickety Add box is so useful.
and apparently where all the water drains too
is that a recycle system you use Werst - or just normal plumbing where you are?
they're just deep sinks
just normal plumbing
west, there's no reason morewords wouldn't work on a Mac -- it's got nothing to do with Expert except that Expert contains a link to it.
I use more words once in a while.
I use morewords all the time I meant I hope grems method will work for me
but I dont really like to use lickety.
I use Morewords all the time!
it will surely come in handy when there are 4,000 examples for one 2 letter combo lol
but Lickety only when I am really stumped
why wouldn't it? Maybe the copy and paste codes are different but the rest would be the same.
and TO I am not liking the puzzle either.
that can drive one insane, had that last night
lyn, I do it the other way round, lol!
I intensely stare at the gr4 until it gives up its secrets.
I like lickety but only for the last 15 or 20
lol BR
BR you have special eyes.
do you stare menacingly, br? i think this one thinks it's tough.
well, a gr4 like this is about a third gobbledygook.
you said it jilli
I'd never finish a grid without Lickety.
I rarely finish...obviousl based on my stats!
did you play before there was lickety jili?
No, I didn't, TO. Did you?
yes.
Well, my hat's off to you. Oh wait, I'm not wearing a hat.
my hat is off to all who played before lickety
that was the way it was.
It took me a few months to realise there was a Lickety - good learning curve
Red, I rarely finish as well. This is nothing more than a diversion for me. I don't care for gr4s like this, full of stupid words.
lol jilli GMTA
My hair's off? No, I just washed it...
hear hear molly
I was wearing a pretend hat
made of foil?
oops, washing machine is ready for the next load -- brb...
absolutely
:)
I can't do laundry either
i did not have a set tub put in
oh well I'll just have to stay and babble
are the tubs blocked West?
the water is going down very slowly..plumber coming at 8 a.m.
we plunged and bailed but something is blocking the pipe
might be roots
gogin to finish dinner, bye all
bye Owl
bye TO
bye, to
bye TO.
I am exactly half way 54/54....
I may have to stop...
our volcano is here red
etna
Hangs head in total shame and humility.
that's her
What a terrific clue, red. Thank you. ;)
sorry, but I suppose most have the poor volcano by now.

I must also leave. Laters!

Thank you, jes. He's nearly 2 now.
That's very recent - from a few days ago.
time flies
Yes, certainly does.
he's a handsome boy
Thank you! He is and he seems to know it.
does he get along well with Valerie?
Oh yes - he drove her mad as a young pup but that's sorted itself out as he's grown up, thankfully.
glad to hear it
she taught him his manners?
dinner has arrived see you all later *poof*
bye, west

Not your imagination Dorens. This thing is chock full of oddities.

Hi Molly! SEe, I like the dynamic between her and House.
and San Francisco body of water
I know you do not enjoy her character though.
TY, TY!
I think I would like the dynamic between her and House better if she were a better actress.
Well..there is that!
yay, dorens!
12 left but we are off to choir rehearsal...
ty sue. and i'm off now... good luck. and good night
Night Dorens!
I'll miss Masters. I hope they give us some closure on her. I'm convinced she has an addict in her life, hence her aversion to House's addiction.
There was a lot more to be discovered with her character. I am sorry to see her go as well.
nu 6/30....now there's a word!
Clue please for in 6/27?
ah, the banded anteater
in 6 = inter
in + actor **** Cronyn
I literally have no idea what that means. I am staring at this gr4 and just totally blanking out. Its freaking me out.
Ahhhh...TY Molly!
You are not alone Car. The general consensus of today is that this gr4 is full of gibberish.
I have Lickety up and I am just staring at it and then the letters and then back to the list. Nothing computes.
in case you don't know, you can find out the meanings of these weirdos by clicking the ? beside the word -- if there IS a definition.
Hi Jilli. Yes, I use that feature a lot, but I think I will call it a night.
Knowing the definition for a word is not going to give it a place in my brain unless I have some regular use for it.
I am going to go. I hope you all have a great night!
Night Car.
any weird words that you can clue are most welcome.
how about a clue for the e bottom left corner?

LOL jes -- better than helping sheep give birth! *yuck face*
ty lynxxx
thanks lynxxx. I actually attempted yesterday's and gave up before my usual halfway point.
sheep are okay. though apparently Wales is havng some issues related to making lambing a public event
Wales? as in Cymru?
yeah
someone had the brilliant idea to let people "help" with lambings as a public event, which i can't begin to imagine is good for the sheep anyway, but turns out to be a public health nightmare.
http://www.wales.nhs.uk/news/18926
over a dozen people sick now...
good grief - can't imagine the sheep thought much of the experience either
g's gutted
indeed, lynxxx. i'm not seeing how that would create a low-stress situation for the eye birthing...
obviously the articles i've read all focus on human health implications, but i'm not seeing it as good for the sheep either.
i must add that i am, in general, against public birthing
heheh.
h's hashed
m's mashed
hat do they have, jes?
cryptosporidium
any clues for the am?

sorry, wandered off (occupational hazard) -- that's weird, I think. And not smart -- there are several pathogens that sheep carry that I know are transmissible to humans.

Hi Everybody. I started this before work; 79 words left; but doubt I'll finish tonight
hi, nef!
how are you uususe? How's your Dad doing?
dad is fine. stepmom is long story but not doing well.
I just read your update. How's your Dad taking that news?
ok; he's frustrated that he has to get news third hand but so it goes.
hi, missomni and nef :)
it must be hard on him.
hey again, sue :)
hi jes. How are you tonight?
hi, jes!
I think it is, nef, but he doesn't let it show.
ba 5/18?
last 3 words: pa5/14 the first, pa6/21, and ya5/16.
I'm keeping him in my thoughts and prayers (& you too)
thanks, nef!
ba5/18 is a little chicken

pa+mr johnson who filmed "Brick"
HiHerin!
so, latest update on my stepmom is that she is out of the ICU but still very ill - irregular heartbeat, on oxygen, confused and mostly uncommunicative. So I am trying to decide whether I want to drive out there this weekend (it's about 6-7 hours each way).
HOwdy
hi, herin!
Is the family open to you visiting?
I think so, nef, they were the last time I talked to them about it and I've always been on good terms with them.
but I would check with them, of course, and wouldn't go if they didn't want me there - they are way in the front lines with her and have been for weeks now.
then (IF you want to and are up to it) go ahead and do it. It might help you explain to your Dad what happened ....
that doesn't sound very pleasant for her, sue
the illness, i mean, not your potential visit!
no, I think she is pretty much dying, and feel very bad for her (and her sons and grandchildren).
I would probably go, then(see my other comments about IF below)
It is hard to be there but not get in the way or feel as if you are going to get in the way. Could you go and help the family out?
they were married how many years?
35 years, nef (I was an adult the whole time, so never lived with them but still)
I probably wouldn't stay more than half a day...
that is a long time and your Dad probably needs some closure. I'd do it ......
you need to do what is best in your heart and feelings
yes, I agree Herin
hello friends. clue for lone o in bottom row, please?
(I put the latest update in my profile - what a soap opera!!)
If you don't go then you need to say to the fam why.
oi5/12, trif, oi + spanish day
oi5, Trif. oi + start of a girls best friend
oi5/12; an occasional babblet, Trfi
gracias!
just looked at the map, it's about 5.5 hours, not a bad drive at all (I actually kind of like to drive)
When B.fs Nan passed on I had to make up my mind as to whether to go or not due to work constrains. I went and work was fine with it and it was the right decision. He need me
hi Trigs
Sue is there any were you can stay over night?
oh, sure, there are motels everywhere
Would you do it all in 1 day, uusue? 10 hours is about all I can drive in a day in these last couple of years
no, I'd probably drive out tomorrow afternoon or evening, then back Saturday afternoon
Stupid being sick
hello herin...almost asleep here, but happily babbling away.
Hi hun
that would be the best way to do it then, uusue.
bard
I think so too, nef. Well, I've sent my stepbrother a text, so we'll see what he says.
I am sick again Stupid winter
sorry. I need to go to bed. Early clinic day tomorrow (I need to be up at 4:30AM
yes, nef, and you can swap the middle two letters for another word :-)
sorry to hear you are sick, herin! and winter is just beginning, yes?
funny thing is, uusue; I WAS thinking of the other word when I typed that one!
Wow, nef, that really is early!!
Yes it is. COuld be worse I could have had the horrid Gastro my friend had (He also may have ruptured his ear drum being violently ill Doctor was suprised at that)
good heavens, herin, that is pretty sick!!
Yes. I told him that was impressive and he really needs to look after himself
<spaying down computerscreen and keyboard so I don't catch whatever Herin has>
err, that was spRaying!
Awww Nef. I am not contagious. Mine is probably Broncitis
I figured, nef :-)
Anyway; I'd love to stay up and chat; but my bed is calling me. Good Night All! And Happy Babbling! (Happy Easter also; and take care and have a safe trip, uusue)
night Nef
*ponders spaying a monitor*
night, nef (and I had totally forgotten about it being Easter...)
g'night, nef!
lol, jes! (none of those little baby monitors to worry about, now)
Hi Jess
