Now that icon of yours is disturbing, Jilli! :P HAHAHA!
KJE suggested that to you? Hmmm . . .
I'll have to have words, with her. ;)
Changing icon to something more recognisable, lol!

As in, erm - not 'straight'. HAHAHA!

Thanks, Kaz!
Send me a good, clear close-up photo of you now, Jilli, so I can use YOUR nose! ;)

ok, back again
Night, mixi6 . . . morning here, though. ;)
night mixi, sweet dreams
You can find one in the flickr pix, I think, but my mother always said I had a potato on the end of it
Hmmm, I never noticed any spuds on your nose, Jilli?
Oh never mind - I see you've changed the icon now, so I don't have to use your nose, after all! ;)
Changing my icon to match my Twitter picture
You're looking very green there, Douglas.
Crossword
Oops! :P Hit enter too soon . . .

ty ursh!
Oh no, Jilli!!! :/
You broke Babble! :P
The green is for solidarity with the Iranian Freedom Movement
I see, Douglas . . .
I think it's just here, JC. Earlier today I couldn't stay online -- too hot here for the health of the computer, I was told. 35C, 94F in the house with fans going -- 46C, 119F outside my bedroom window. Now it's cooled down a bit at 10:51 pm -- only 33C, 88F in here
Oh goodness - that's much too hot! :/
I trust all the fans are still going, full tilt?/
Yes indeed
Does anyone else have weird things happening? A few seconds ago above the grid it said "less than one minute left", and then it changed to 23+ hours left
nothing unusual here jilli
not tonight jili; but did happen to me the other night
how much time left doesit say for you, flosey?
Your computer is haunted, Jilli . . .
Goes right along with Jacula's phantom wheelie-bin people. :P
ok 22 left but cant stay awake...night all tc :)

1 word to go and I can't get it, ta
well, we'll see -- dee I thought you said yours just showed 23 hrs
Ack, Jilli - I'm still seeing my big schoz (albeit backwards/mirror-imaged), each time you say something in here. :P I simply must refresh this page! It's entirely too disturbing . . .

A good night to you too, Douglas - although it's morning, here. :)
well all... need to get going.... hugs to all; have a great day / eve *poof*
any others before I go? Hubby is out on the deck watching the stars
Flosey -- meant to say my mum and I went to see Jimmy Durante in the Hippodrome in NYC in 1935. We were sitting in the gods and could hardly hear anything, just saw this little guy way down below walking around and shouting and throwing his hat on the floor. I was 8 and still remember!
I'll join him now, will be playing from Vancouver tomorrow night
LOL jill! what a memory... assuming the "gods" are the nosebleed seats?
yes, stid
wow jilli, what a memory
please tell hubby hello for me, and enjoy the stargazing!
will do stid, goodnight all
Hi, all, and yay for Dee and flosey! sorry to get in so late - net's been down AGAIN! *fuming and fussing*
flosey? I am confused . . .
why confused JC
lovely night for stargazing, I should think!
Your Last FM profile says you're male, and in Germany?
*Scratches head!*
yes, earlier we watched the moon go down behind the mountain, and the stars come up
Or am I reading something incorrectly? I'm easily confused, by the way . . . :P
no JC, I think you must have me confused with someone else
I clicked the 'Profile' button in your Babble bio!
On the Last FM thing?
I could be very, very confused though, yes - being this overtired. :P
but perhaps when you clicked it the chatbox moved and you clicked on someone else??? I've done that
But no, it is indeed what I did, resulting from that. Just double-checked!
FIREWORKS!:-)
wtg jac

woohoo, Jac!!!
That is what the button took me to . . .
YAY Jac!!!!
ψ Ψ ψ Ψ ψ → W I R E F O R K S ↠ψ Ψ ψ Ψ ψ For . . . *** Jacula *** !!! :)
NBT!!! and well past halfway. Back at some point. maybe. trying to stay in cool spaces during the heat of the days has made our time online minimal. *sigh*
Yes, I can imagine - hope it cools down for you soon, stid!
see you-all soon! *poof*
oH JOY! That means I am free to do the ironing later, to turn up 2 pairs of skinny jeans for my daughter and to replace an invisible zip in one of her dresses and a fly zip in Beloved's jeans.
What *fun*, Jacula! ;)
I can also watch SKY+ recorded stuff whilst doing the irnong.
Whoopee for you, Jac!
And now I must run . . .
What an exciting life I lead. LOL.
I see JC, but I don't use FM, and he is much younger than I - he is obviously not a babbler - cannot have same name here
See you all later . . . *WAVES!*
And . . . *POOFS!*
Actually, I'm mostly content with it.
'Bye JC - catc up with youlater.
Bye, JC -- that was so sudden!
fooey, guess JC didn't see my comment
Thanks for the wireforks, JC.
anyway, off to watch the stars - see you tomorrow night
'Bye flosey - enjoy the night sky.
(Or are you off to watch celeb tv?)
the night sky jac
Glad you said that, flosey.x
It's so nice to meet someone who appreciates nature and the world we live in. So many people don't now.
Well, morning has broken (as Cat Stevens sang the hymn) and I'm still in one piece sinc no shaft of sunlight has yet come through. LOL
hi hi hi hi hi hi
hi josh
surprisingly easy nbt
wish you wouldn't say that, josh, when I'm struggling, lol!
ha, sorry. it was mostly words i have seen a lot of times on here, if that helps
It doesn't help -- I've seen them before too but they're hiding tonight
I keep seeing the beginnings of words but they have no last letter
which ones are invisible?
well, if I knew, I'd have found them, wouldn't I?
i mean, which blank tiles?
LOL -- the top row E and the other E in the 4th column
oh I found the de 8
do you want stats or clues on them?
wtg ruru!
thanks, josh -- I'll just struggle for now -- I do try to get nbt before asking for clues although sometimes I'm too blind
ok - i have fish for you if you like
10 left here
go ru go!!!
no 7's or 8's yet for me
oh, I'm sure they're fishy, josh! TIA.
only if you are shallow jilli
I've been very distracted tonight, with emails and such
got the top E fish and devoured it
i think my mind is too narrow-tracked to be able to handle babble and email. it's really one or the other
i bet it was nice and tasty!
i hope you didn't devour the entire fish, and left some things out
and spied the other E too -- NBT!
well done
All I ne4 for NBT is the single A under the I.
ah, got that de8 too :)
rbud, it's a frequent babblet
ahhhh, got that de8 as well
I'm off to get some shut eye now. Happy Babbling all.xxx

HUGGGGGGGSSSSSSSS
hi herin
Hi.
how are you?
i am fine herin
I am eating Coco pops for dinner
thats healthy
I have a slightly unhappy belly so i thought I would eat that
coco pops? that stuff will kill you...crossy goes into the kitchen to flip the bacon;))
hope they make you feel better
coco pops. I hope they take care of your tummy. :-)
Thanks Crossie.
Thanks Wolvie. I have missed everyone.
i would allow my kids 1 box of unhealthy cereal a week, they would demolish it in no time and then have to eat properly for the rest of the week
and now they have the same rule for their kids
i cannot give my kid excess food colouring that is in many of the cerials, cocoa puffs, count chocula, froot loops etc
i am not a choc fan so never tasted them
My ex used to let his kid eat marshmallow puffs and rice bubbles on his access day. The rest of the time the kid would eat healthy
I never had them either andree. But I know lots of folks who did. ;-)
i give him a choice,rice krispies,corn flakes or special k
no cheerios crossy? those and shredded wheat were always my favs
crossy LOVES special k;)
he went off cherios for a bit
we were a weetbix family or porridge
and my all time fav has got to be weetabix;)
ah. i only like the originals I'm afraid - all the others are sweetened
never had weetabix, but i'm guessing it's just like shredded wheat
i love shredded wheat
not wuite,more dense,more like a oat cake you would feed a horse;0
not really wolvie
I used to love the Koala Puffs that was really nice but not too chocolaty
oh. well, I'll just have to wonder. ;-)
maybe ill fed-ex you some weetabix lol
I remember having corn pops, but never choco in the AM. count chocula was out when I was a kid, but i never tried it.
Weatbix um how do i describe them other than the growing boys tend to eat a box of 12 at a time.
lol indeed crossy - more than the box is worth to do that. I've seen it in stores around here
indeed herin
healthy and bacon: http://tinyurl.com/cyhtno
choc full of that good ole fibre;)
on visits to USA i have been blown away by the variety of cereals you have
yes, I do love bacon. :-)
Weatbix are like small bricks of wheat.
Mmmm Apple Jacks
me too andree, too confusing.
ty br...its warms my heart that you are thinking bout my poor ole ateries;)
you will do what you will do
shredded wheat used to be big bricks of wheat, now they are bite size. anything that soaks up milk was my goal, I love milk
bacon eggs and baked beans, my favourite breakfast
unless eggs benedict is on the menu
BACON CHOCOLATE!!! lol the perfect food!
baked beans for breakfast? huh. never tried that. cold pizza, but never beans. lol
you can get that now crossy. Vosage makes a bar
Oh good lordy Bacon Chocolate
goes so well with bacon
they sell it at whole paycheck
i did nice home made potato pancakes yesterday morn with the left over mashed..yum:)
like those -especially if you dice up a bit of onion and apple and saute in
mmmm
I had 6 pancakes on Monday for tea
not american sized pancakes I bet. lol
i better enjoy this while i can,my DR is looking at me funny.i think there is a pipid test in my near future, then ill only be eating tofu and distilled water i imagine:/
lipid
No small size
oh man - better get that bacon choco bar then
horseradish and rutabaga slices on ritz crackers with lemonade
so you ate 6 dinner plate size pancakes? How did you move afterwords - or did you sleep at table? ;-)
when i have a pancake morning i do dozens of em in butter about the size of a toast plate or tea cup saucer
im hunting that bar down as we speak wolvie;)
okay babble, that is definitely personal preference lol
I can see that crossy small guys
That is about the Size tea cup. No not a piggy
if you have a whole foods store, they have it
and thin and crispy round the edgfes, not all thick and doughy
okay fern - those are not american sized cakes. if you go to breakfast here, dinner plate size rules. when I make them, I make them about tea plate size
mmmm dinner plate sized pancakes.
my da used to serve them with sugar sprinkled on them and a dash of lemon juice
i beat the egg whites separately, then fold into the batter - makes them nice and light
about five of those and you are ready to go
to sleep yes babble. ;-)
that is what we could call um Omlets
How are you Babble?
upright and able to take nutrition
no no fern, I put the egg whites into the pancake batter
:( i madee the mistake of peeking at the list..there are way too many de words;(
i'm stuck on the wa7/8 combo
this is good BR. Always best to be able to take nutrition
I know crossy - that is why I am chatting lol
Ok Wolvie sorry about confusion

Andree kids are using Durry's as a slang word now
I am accomplished at obnubilation
Oh and Goon bag. Makes me proud that kids are still using these old words
Crossie cheeky sod
yes you are br
ܤܤܤ
well, it is a difficult job but someone has to do it
lol
is the fe6 related to the 5 before it?
make it a past tense
See as an Aussie you drink from a Goon bag then blow it up and use it as a pillow
you are going to cause me to finish forward. drat. ;-)
:)
Faith I see that Dr G found a flag for you
LOL i love it!! there are people out there who have a phobia of very long words and guess how the name of the phobia is spelt? hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia!! !
ha ha crossy
I'd like to see babble fit that in a grid. One word puzz
we would hunt him down and kill him
slowly
lol
with a grapefruit spoon
That word sounds to me like the fear of Hippopotomuses
and painfully
ty herin - I didn't even notice that! :)
Forwad you need clotehs
what do you mean?
In linguistics, agglutination is the morphological process of adding affixes to the base of a word. Languages that use agglutination widely are called agglutinative languages.
you must get yourself a nice pic and get rid of the grey head
uh oh - BR is on a roll

I don't know how to put a pic in - I'm not very computer savvy lol
That is ok
and I am not very awake

G'd Mornign Scrabbler
Morning Scrabs
Oooh, 2 more. DENSA city!
Is this a small & evil grid?
Silly question, of course.
Small, but not mean. All normal words, shockingly enough.
No, a vroom vroom vroom grid
can't say Scrabs, have yet to dive in.
Yes, I wondered, as so far I am doing well.
Just do it, FM.
Point total anyone? Please and Thank You with a cherry on top, whipped cream on the side, and fresh strawberries!
1275
Thank You muchly BR.
Oh I will do Scrabs but later today.
That was a bonehead of the year moment. Muchos grassyass.
Right column is grey---woot woot, 7 words there.
So are you done, Lori?
Congrats Lori?? are you done?

Yes, I was just examining the earliest skin lesions and they are healing quickly. I am far less itchy and I have seen no new lesions since Monday.
With that, I'm off to whack some zombies. Thanks for the help, and have a great day all!
Hi crossy ((())), dang there goes the phone.
That's no way to talk about your kids, Lori. Have a nice day!
Hi Haz
Hi Cwossy! My friend's brother, age 42, has Stage IIIc seminoma--started cisplatinum, bleomycin and etoposide yesterday.
Bye Lori.
Good morning FM and everyone.
very tratable as long as it hasnt metastasised(sp) too much mine was also stage 3 and caught it just before it really got nasty
Good day Hazel. I have been thinking of you as I read Lynn Truss' book, "Talk to the Hand". Hilarious, as was her other book, "Eats, Shoots & Leaves."
crossy shudders at the thought of cisplatinum
Hello Scrabbler. I remember reading 'Eats, Shoots and Leaves' and thinking 'At last, someone who understands!'
the worst thing about that crap is you sweat it and taste it 24/7
not to mention losing 80 or 90 pounds;(
You would love this book, Hazel--all about the increasing rudeness of contemporary society. She refers to the "Eff Off Reflex." You must read it.

BR, you are profound as always.
Maybe it was an era thing as I'm almost sixty. You've just made me feel worse by saying the grid is painless I must really be rubbish.
howdy, Judi
Well, I have to do sudoku . I finally made elite status, so I have to maintain my reputation. See you
Good morning, earthlings.
oh no, don't feel like rubbish verna.. it's usually painless after we've finished.. meanwhile, lots of help in the chat
Verna, BR's comment is 100% true. Once you have found the word, you wonder why it took so long

hello
Hi Liz
hi annie
So what're you reading at the moment
right now, I am reading The Nine by Jeffrey Toobin about the Supreme Court Justices...very interesting
Sounds good :) I'm on an autobigraphy streak at the moment :)
I like autobiographies. I just finished Unaccustomed Earth by Jumpha (SP?) Lahiri. Fabulous book.
Jhumpa ???
Haven't read that one, must look it up :) I'm reading one about a woman who adopted and raised five downs syndrome children and two autistic kids. Its heart wrenching but she is so inspiring :)
Liz, My son has Down Syndrome. Please tell me the name of the book. I must read it.
A Mother Like Alex: One Defiant Woman. Nine Special Children. by Bernard Clark. Its great although much of it is to do with her battles against the system in Britain for adopting, but I'm sure you'll find it interesting.
I will definitely get the book. Thanks so much.
There is a section about each of her children. The one boy ended up working as a guide showing people around Manchester United football ground. She's an amazing lady
Hope you like it. Would be interested to hear your opinion sometime :)
Next time I go to the library I will reserve a copy.
Gosh I've only found 40 words so far. If you don't mind I'm going to get stuck in for a bit :)
stick away,,I am going to do the same

fair enough :)
Use turkey bacon!
and it reminded me to change mine :)
Was just reading about "El Nino" effect on us for the next few months...on top of a ten year drought they are expecting an even worse(!) fire season than the one we just went through. And dams are at only 27% - very very low. Sigh
it's lovely crossy
lynxx,we are currently having the wettest summer in 4 years here;/
we are having a wet summer too
hot and dry here; lots of fires
You all are lucky! We are in a drought situation. It has been 100+ F and no rain
i know its nasty dry for you down under of late;(
Jes, where are you? I am in Texas.

yeah, though it's been hot on the other side too... was about 100f in vancouver last week
I am used to the heat up to 98, over that I cannot breathe well
crosshair, you must live in my neck of the woods...what a summer !
90's here for the last week or so, then thunderstorm last night and today it's only in the 80s
I miss Washington. Used to live in Tacoma. Phew
Cross - what were the recent fires in Canada caused by?

fogie, fart, gramps...
I know, but it is humorous. I am a foodie, so I appreciate his obession (even if it is over pig stomachs)
You rang?
lol Tor
hey torg :) what's a do6 word that means old?
do & cons & how old you are
bacon quote of the day... Of all the lessons in life that I’ve learned the hard way, the ones involving frontal nudity and hot bacon grease seem to be the most enduring.

at least one of the v's please?
oh, will this heat wave ever go away??? (it's 1:45pm and 101F) *sigh* Hi All!
heya pini
hi jacq
hi Pini.
hi mo
how're you guys doing?
nice and cool here and very rainy!
Oh, how I envy you!!!
its been very hot until now.
raining here too again
thunder booming again in the distance and it 26 c
only 15degrees here
we hit 35C yesterday :(
(more like "last night")
couldn't cope with all that heat!!!
yuo poor soul!!!!
I think I'm barely surviving!
thankfully I can work at home in the afternoon (at least it's a bit cooler with a touch of an AC unit working it's little heart out - we don't have AC in the office)
you have my sympathy! :-)
thx mo ;)
just keep sending ice cubes!
lol!
well, they keep melting too fast here! LOL
I can imagine!
are you in the USA Pini?
I am, Mo...on the West Coast (Oregon)
you must come over here to cool down!! :-)
Oh, wouldn't that be nice!
but arent you used to the heat with living there?
Not really...I live in what's called the Pacific Northwest...it's an area that is supposed to be cooler than, say, California, Arizona, New Mexico (southwestern states where it is typically hotter)...
we actually broke a temperature record yesterday when we hit 106F (will find the conversion for that)
my geography of America has a lot to be desired, so I always assume it is hot there!!!!
wow...106F = 41C...ouch
wow pini, i would be a mess with that heat
again ... poor thing ... I really do feel for you!
I understand the whole geography thing...Oregon is on the same latitude line as England; California is further down, say maybe in line with Spain or further south (so, the closer to the equator, the hotter the temp)
thx jacq...they say it's supposed to be going down in the next day or two...but until then...it's sweltering!!!
i think california is closer than spain, it snows in spain some winters
yikes, it rarely snows in southern California
its where the different states are that I dont know.
here ya go: http://www.mapsofworld.com/usa/usa-sta te-and-capital-map.html
Pini ... that sounds like a cue for a song ....
it's actually pretty close to one, mo
hey...I've gotta git for a bit (have to run an errand)...will be back to cool off again! :)

lol jacq

ok, so wa7 - anyone around who knows what the other 7 starts with?
you got the wa? can you clue it please?
grtaz hursh!
do7/40
ty jac

it's built off the 4
related to our old age
ah, well the wa has the same ending!
tytyty
ty ty ty

grats
wtg sue!!!

od4/5, of5/16 .. What else please?
wtg sue and sprite!!!!
oy4/6
sounds like the olde english call
Oh yes! I miss that one with regularity ..
Thanks jacq!
np, can you clue the od please? am word blind
where do you go to see the list of first two letters and number of letters per word? I'm new.
go to lickety's clues, a l;ink at the bottom of the page, but it might open in this wondow
and hello snpdiva
ah, thanks!!
Oh, I can very easily see how this game would drive me crazy.
it's very addictive, very. the list you see under the grid you get to see for two weeks, then you have to go pro, or rely on instinct or the chog
so after playing free for two weeks, the list goes away?
yes, but not lickety's clues that's always available
but the stats list goes
cool... makes sense
hi all
hi snp!
welcome to the grid
heya jmc
so torg you going to clue that od for jac *looks hopefully*
gosh sprite did this grid in 20 minutes!!!
i know
gives you something to aspire to!
lol the od sounds like aha i have an id**!!!!
aspire to? i've been playing for 2 hours, mind you i have also been watching planet of the apes
bedtime here have to admit defeat (not in the grid no matter how many times you type it)
g'night all, have fun and fireworks
bye jac sweet dreams
jmc! S'up girl? Hello all! I finished in less than 2 hours (I think) and with only two or three clues. Woot!
need clues? I actually need to make bracelets....
wtg science you are getting to be a reall pro
are giving clues and making bracelets mutally exclusive?
Planet of the Apes (original) rocks!
really never liked it
I am trying really hard. Someone told me about Morewords... I use it when I get constipated on a word
I think I liked the simpson musical version better
I like it
I use lickety's list and not morewords
They are mutually exclusive. I cannot make jewelry and be on the computer. So I will go SOOOOON. Clues?????
the singleton e in the top middle
I am about to change my little profile square to something really old that is really me in the day in honor of Woodstock's re-release.....
in fact any e except the sword from the top right
what you had for diner is ea***
what you saw was ey**
what you have are ey**
oops dinner
ty ty I kept thinking about that word and then never could see how it worked -- now I do
goes to show you should type in a word whether you see it or not
one more e and I have nbt (finally)
only 25 to go an all alone in the chog :-(
and the other e is like a protector minus an "a"
"defense!" bang bang "defense!" bang bang
sometimes i have no idea what you all are talking about, but you make me laugh. :)
officially induced error, you think?
who me?
the word protector reminded me of line backers which reminded me of football and thus. . . .
ohhh, i thought you were in court :)
lol another possibility but I wouldn't be yelling there !
hi DTTTM and welki
of you'd hear, "Contempt!" LOL
exactly! if I go to jail I want it to be for a good reason
like drinking where prohibited ;)
hey!
lol I would have been good and mad if that had gone that far
I have 4 ag words -- what am I missing?
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
hi min!
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
this is a tough audience tonight!
okay I am listing for my last 22
boy, jmc, it'll take a while to live that down, won't it?
i have 5 so far .. the gemstone + plural are two; the middle ag** is another, exchange premium + plural are the others
clearly so but it was funny!
Hello pythonx! How are you? Welcome to this puzzle!
probably mineral is better than gemstone
hi Min and everyone else
that still leaves me the singleton a
hi py, min
no that is a gem stone
well, you should ask NOW for the DO big point clues.......... I am so known for subtlety (spelling?)
Hello welki! How are you doing. What is in your icon?
I have do 6/27 and do 7/40 is there something else?
the other a is a plural that rhymes with doing figure *s around the skating rink (4/4)
ag single money
a caddis fly, min .. a favorite for fishing
It is a fine rock that I make jewelry with often...
jmc no that is the worst and the most length
de 8/55 - got that one?
ty welki that was the one
I have both 8
and both 7
I am drowning in 4
what jmc???? what do u need?
the last n word -- I have tidy and want badly
how about pt of want badly
wanted badly
ne6/24:wanted badly (past tense of the ne4/5 word)
ah of course! ty welki and BR

the icon theme today was famous noses and Une already had take Jose Ferraro in Cyrano
He is, but he used to be cuter when he was younger.
they tend to cut down the camaraderie welki
BabbleRabble that nose in your icon scarily looks like it could be something else, if you know what I mean.

lol BR
wa 7/64 is wa 4/11 plus how old you are hshliz and hi

Always a private eye. I feel so empowered because I ruled the grid today!!!!!!

take a breath science -- there is always opportunity to be deflated!
de 4/8 the one right before the thinning one
de4.8 , shorten the de6.30
sorry the one right AFTER the slimming one
I live deflated.... :( Just proud that I could finish without too many clues.
too bad I don't have de 6/30 then
it de**** gravity
de 6/30 to not obey
I am glad you did too. It is a good feeling for sure!
ty science and pyth
and the very first de 4/8?

Hi Scrabbler! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
A gooe early morning to you, Scrabbler! :)
Erm - make that 'good'. :P
2:19 AM in the UK, right?
Not gooe, or gooey . . .
I'm a minute behind that, Scrabbler - clock must be slow.

I just spent $63 on 7 books at Border's--big sale.
Hello, sciencegeek . . .
steppping in and out...
Ooh . . . books are always money well spent! ;)
Year Scrabs!
Year!
Hi SG. I see that you are an official Babble addict.
off cannot type right too much wine
Yes addictiom runs deep and etc.
I love books--so many to read and not enough time.
At least you have that excuse, SG - I just type badly. :P
amd you, Scrabbler?
are you clean and free?
I have a very fast touch-typing speed, it's just not always terribly accurate! :P
Clean & free?
Clean & free from addicrions?
Go Jc!'
I am outta here folks.
additctions..... too much red wine.................. night
Hm, my addictions = Babble, word games of many types, books, nature, kayaking, crosscountry skiing, rabbits, .....
HAHA, trying - 15 left now. :P Take care, SG. :)
All good ones to have, Scrabbler - amen to the Babble and word games/puzzles in general, books (reading and writing), nature and outdoor adctivities (used to be a rower), and animals . . .
Whoopee John, and Springtime Polka
Hi BR
Hello, Scrabbler
I monkeyed wa7-8 by myself!
*feeling like a real Babbler*
Way to go monkeys! I think mine expired awhile ago!
. . . . . . . and good morning all from a raving insomniac.
Frances - how lovely to see you! :)
Hi Frances! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
Aw, Frances. I am glad that you joined us.
Hi Scrabs. , , , , , and J.C. so lovely to see you.
, , , , , ,and Min.
How many left to find J.C?
Oh, 12 now, Frances . . . and I'm stuck on a silly little 4-letter word, which my monkeys simply aren't finding! :/
ta5 help please?
One of my favorite desktop mottoes: "I live like I type--fast, with a lot of mistakes." Probably I like it so much because it doesn't apply to me. Type fast, live slow, try to avoid mistakes.
Hi katydid
Hello, Scrabbler.
Scrabs t + the **d* blue yonder.
HAHA, wel I have slowed down a lot in my old age, Katy. I still type fast, though - with plenty of mistakes! :P
That should be Ta +
Erm - make that 'well'. See what I mean? :P
TY, Frances!
A ta 5/18 word is ta plus singer David Bo*** Scrabbler
You're welcome Scrabs.
I have been preening myself on retaining babblets, remembering obscure words, and toddling along the learning curve. Now it seems that the learning curve is a Bell Curve. I reached the top, and I'm sliding back down. Why can't I finish without recourse to the list? I'm stuck at 25.
tawie
Nite all and apologies J.C.
Katydid, the dictionary is a bit large and words are hidden in a grid, so be easier on yourself.
Bye Silverback
Hmmm, Silverback? For what???
Ooops. Sorry.
sisyphus
And a good night to you - and sweet dreams! :)
That clue was easier than Frances'
BR: Are you callilng me a sissy? Put up your ducks.

Hi kje
KJE! Howdy--and where do you head for this year's post-July 1 getaway? I can't remember!
Beowulf as in Seamus Heaney's UNBELIEVABLE translation. Blows the Norton Anthology out of the water. Made me cry--literally.
no plans yet
So inspiring, I am going to re-read the Fagles Iliad and Odyssey and have picked up Pinsky
Pinsky's Dante.
Which is why I am also reading Laurell Hamilton and Paul Auster, LOL
Oh, I thought you had plans, LOL
Pam, you are reading serious stuff
had planned to go to SF in august, but that has been pushed back to september
you know me by now, scrabs! I get on a jag!
Oh, maybe that's what I was thinking, KJE!
pam - i just read the golden circle and am half done with the subtle knife -trhey are good
I just bought 7 books for $63 at Border's (sale + coupon for 30% off a book)--mostly historical fiction, but also 2 mysteries by Tana French--won an Edgar Award for In The Woods.
kje--how is your ear?
it hurts
OE, scrab... hoping not MRSA seeing as I am attacked by it daily
have some levo here, so justtook it, trying not to have to run to a late night pharm
would do better with drops, clearly, but levo is what i have on hand
I have CiproDex here, wish I could beam it over to you.
wish you could scrab - i do have some bactroban ointment, so stuck that in there - maybe it will help if it is mrsa
My last patient of the long day, 6:20 pm: 3 yr old with ataxia x 4d. Awaiting CT of brain in ED. Scary.
crap - not good
my last pt - 34 yo EtOHic with albumin of 1.7, DIC, crit of 22, delirious... fun stuff

hi scrabs
mrpresident.....I've been reading that Australia has started mandatory vaccinations for swine fle. Is that true? Or just more gossip mongering.
hi everyone! (((MRP)))
hi dawg!
mandatory vaccinations? no, I haven't been called for one... but when I find out, will let you know
Hi ibd. Your Macine describes the weather here to a tee.
All done. Mostly a fun & challenging grid. Now, off to bed.
Maxine.....
Just heard here that Pregnant women are top priority for vaccinations.
Yeah. Pregnant women, young children and seniors.
Sweet Dreams, Scrabs. Pida! yeah, that maxine really does cover it all, especially the weather this week.
bye scrabs
nite scabs
bye scrabbs
they are testing vaccines on those groups, but won't be available until November for public
Although Welki and Jilli were kind enough to send some lovely cooling weather down yesterday and today. Hope it stays for a while.
The timing on those vaccines makes sense for those of us above the equator, but for you folks, down under, it seems they should be doing something more active NOW!
i better go deliver my son his instrument for band practise... bbs
later, MRP
dawg, at least we are your test subjects! LOL
Does anyone realize that they are testing unknown vaccines, that are full of adjuvanets. More dangerous than getting the flu itself....
adjuvants...
We can only hope they get all the nasties out before infecting humans, Pida
I wandered.... Hi, again!

Hi everyone -- checking in for the flip
Has anyone "seen" Sprite lately? -- someone mentioned about a week or so ago that she wasn't well.
Just looked up her profile -- apparently she is ok now.
nan, Sprite was on earlier today and is feeling better -- took time out for a needed rest.
ty jill
Hi all -- 27 left but no hope!
nan -- are you roasting as we are?
bugs -- great icon -- great idea!
My brother-in-law grew up in Vernon and now lives on the big island. He is the only one I know who is loving this weather.
HI flippers
Thanks Jilli. I have been trying to follow the icons since you pointed out how much fun it is to read them
yes Bugs- cool idea!
I just have to time the flip on the icons better. When do I hit the refresh button to have it show at the right time.
Flp-a-dee-doo-dah, flip-a-dee-ay.....
