100 down, off to bed, goodnight all
goodnight flosey; sleep well
night flosey - 5 behind you
hi preethi, i'm still here. am in and out...cooking something to eat...starved!
gn flosey
what are you cooking?
steak french fries and vegetables...
yum
just a quick meal...can't wait for gourmet tonight
what is gourmet night?
i like to take the time to cook something really yummy, but tonight i'm too hungry to wait for good food...so a quick fry up and veg in the microwave...franch fries are left over from a couple days ago.
aww gotcha
gourmet night is most nights... but i generally coiok enough for two or three nights so just have to re-heat..don't have the time to spend cooking hours every night and i like left overs just fine
very luck family kate!!
no family, just me...cooking a decent meal every night for one is a pain in th ar4, and i don't have the time, hence the left over menus...i cook a roast or something and then just have to re-heat..cheating but i can't stand instant food
although i do have a hankering for beans and wieners on toast....
I can understand that; I made sloppy joes the other night from scratch, and then the next night used the leftovers with pasta and a cheese sauce for a casserole
FMMitch's b-day today...have been baking in PB for the celebration this evening...a choclit buffet... hope you'll come and sing happy birthday to her and have some dessert and coffee
yum and ty; happy birthday fm!!!!
mine is friday
Good morning. Mine is next Tuesday. Don't know about you but my father was home on Christmas leave from the airforce.
that's the key..use leftovers to make the next meal...it makes me absolutely crazy to throw food away. i will actuallly put small amounts of food away in fridge, knowing i won't eat it (probably)and wait forit to grow fur before i throw it away...justified that it was bad
Have a good one FM.
totally understand the fuzz issue
my dad was in the marine corps, but I was actually conceived on a beach in NC during a hurricaine (hence my "stormy" nature) hahaha
okay, dee' b-day is friday and frances' b-day is next tuesday...are they on sprite's calendar? i have a very lousy memory
Hello Kate. I know that mine is not.
I don't think mine is, but not sure
fireworks
Hello -- how's this one?
a bit over the line to be sure...but throwing out good food is not possible for me ...need a shrink for sure...and sometimes i do eat it ..midnight raids on fridge..incorporated into something else etc...
this grid was a toughie
Good for Dee, I see!!!
big hugs jili; but the great news is we already have lickety's list
this would have been miserable without lickety
did you have a good day jili?
Yes, I just saw Lickety had done his thing -- hooray!
very big cudos to lickety!
Yeas -- just got back from a wonderful symphony performance
Well done Dee and good morning jilli.
ohhh I love the symphony
ty frances
congratulations dee! that was fast!
hi jil
hi frances :)
Hi TK
i will try to e-mail sprite re: yur birthdays
Hello jilli. I bet you enjoyed that.
phantom -- arthriitis -- I imagine everyone has found that one.
what was played ?
ty and happy birthday early frances, in case I forget
TK, sprite is having computer troubles
Thanks Dee. They seem to come round very quickly now!
my phantom also, jili, along with thirst and christmas :)
I keep seeing Christmas in thegrid.
too true to be comical, frances
I swear my last one was only a few months ago!
agree
well I need to get going; lots to do tomorrow
hugs to all; have a great day / eve!!!
*poofing*
You too Dee.
hello.
Good morning seain.
Good morning, Frances.
this one seems tough
good night dee
hi dc -- dee said it was
night dee
e-mail to sprite has been sent...whether she gets it or nit is another matter...
hi, kate and jilli
hi dc, no one here but us chickens now!
lots of not-valid Latin in this one
lots of letters, no words
I'm not going to be here long.
preethi - are you still here?
me either...going to eat then that's it for me
i'm awaiting a dryer load to hang before sleep
how'd your day go dc?
i'll be irregular next week or so due to being in Cleveland for Tom's surgery, which is on Thursday the 24th.
well, Kate, thank you, and yours?
hold me back, i can't stand the excitement!
lots of little nothings...can't say i accomplished anything to write home aboiut...but i only needed 5 more words on yesterday's grid!
Thought of you this evening, dc -- wonderful premier performance of the new National Broadcast Orchestra, formerly the CBC Radio Orchestra, whose funding was stopped by the philistines in the CBC.
how awful on part of CBC
glad to hear they'll keep going, though
what did theyt perform?
well done, kate
ty
There was a huge outcry and a lot of it came from our little island, so that's why their first performance was here
nice of them :)
ooh, i passed a bunch today in the ranking... zoomzoom's next!
go, Kate, go
Haydn, Prokofiev, and two Canadian composers, one of whom came to the performance. Jens Lindemann (Canadian Brass) did Haydn's Trumpet Concerto. The whole thing was a blast and the musicians all looked as if they were having fun too.
oh, sounds just lovely, jilli! I'm so looking forward to playing with a group again.
well, i'm new.. need to acquit myself well...i won't care in a month...
indeed so, kate. in time, one comes to compete with oneself mostly :)
I have no interest in the rankings -- they don't seem to make much sense
haven't heard canadian brass in years, sounds like a nice selection of music
i saw Canadian Brass for free - or was it $5. either way cheap - at George Mason U when i was student there. That was in '91 or '92.
Conductor was Alain Trudel, almost dancing on the podium
my first night on was 11pm...you can imagine how many words i got...next night was a huge one..and i only got about 1/3, so once those are gone it'll liook better...have finished most to date..with help
oh, he is fun to watch, and does lovely work, i agree, jilli
they've been around since i was a kid jc..used to play the schools
they are very ebntertaining to be sure
what was the prokofiev selection?
Symphony No 1 in D major, "Classical"
cool, found tr8
like him and hayden too, fav is tsaikovsky (sp) really like the ballet suites
well done, dc!
good grif dc, ave something for tomorrow!
grief
i give up...typing is shot...
Mendolssohn's Die Hebriden is one of my absolute favourite pieces to perform
They did Haydn's Symphony No 1 too -- both No 1s on purpose because it was their No 1 performance :)
not familiar with that one; for strings i assume?
:) what a lovely leitmotif for the performance
who did you go with?
I went with me.
always a nice way to go, that.
Lots of friends there, though.
good for you...i go with me all the time...can't rope any one innto going to 'artsy 'things...last time i saw the trocs you'd think i was pulling teeth trying to get someone to go with me!!!geez!
love the trocs. =)
sigh, cannot make adj of is6.24
ah, but there is an is7 i see
you're on fire there dc!
and ms perlman makes a return
Ours is a small, intimate theatre, seats 265. See http://artspring.ca/
who'd want to be named after a (bird?)
what a lovely, intimate space
There's a photography exhibition going on in the galleries -- soem wonderful stuff, all local artists.
cute little venue jil, too bad there weren't shot s of the interior in the site

cute little venue jil, too bad there weren't shot s of the interior in the site, still up close and personal is great
paloma, dove, robin (wait that's bird named for a person), Jay, Raven
we hope to get there to see it in person in the next 18 mos, jilli
Really, dc!!! Well, come for a visit!
i'll keep you, stid, and flosey informed as that becomes concrete :)
Oh, wow! What a treat that will be!
right column greyed. Work this one, it is.
Kate, I hate to show my ignorance, but what is trocs?
darn, I was sure tristemic was a word and got all excited
good morning everyone...
hjst, drop a letter
hi, donnab, GM
HJ, you actually in China?
Hello, hjst -- where in China?
hi donnab
yep, I live in Xi'an
originally from the UK though
thanks for the clue dcseain
a friend of mine was in Xi'an 4 years ago. She moved to Hainan 2.5 years ago.
Why X'ian?
not ignorance at all jil somewhat esoteric really. all male ballet troupe, gay , classically trained, dance in draag with wonderful cheeky "back stories" they are really fantastic. they actuallly dance en pointe...!!!! it is extremely funny but it is serious ballet undr all the hu=mour,,,if you ever get the chance see them,...les ballet de trocadero de monte carlo...out of new york if i remember correctly
I run an IT consultancy here
i'd bet he's teaching English?
oh, neat, not an English teacher :)
IT?
no, although I'll forgive you for guessing that - everyone else here seems to
Information Technology, Jilli
Thanks, TK -- drew a blank with Google
jillibus: general tech consultancy for the european companies here, and some software development for the domestic market
oh, they came to Mason while was there, too. I remember them being quite a wonderful show.
and babble to pass the time, of course :-)
Interesting. Is X'ian what used to be called Sian-fu?
the trocs , dc/
Arthritis keeps leaping out at me....
First thing is (didn't) see, donnab :)
Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo (yes, that extra "k" is intentional) is one of my favorite ballet troupes. I met most of them some years ago, when some of the original founders were still active. Never met a group of nicer people!!!
you haven't lived until you've seen one of them do the dying swan LMAO and ROFL and LOL
*not is, I
yes, Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo
They sound like fun
the cbc did a nice hour long piece on them some years ago, i have been going to watch them for years and years now..=)
jillibus: don't know about the "sian" name. this was the old imperial capital though for a few thousand years - used to be called Changan back in the day
MAJOR fun -- but also damn good dancing!
Xi'an (GR: Hsi-An Postal: Sian)
you'd love it i'm sure jil..like i said it is real ballet..the fouette is to die for
Sian might be the western spelling I guess
how long have you been there h?
not long, about 5 months full time
I have some stamps from Sian in the 30s, I think.
exactly erda! but try to get someone not familiar to go... oh brother..,..
<-- gone to sleep
currently getting my resident status
http://tinyurl.com/53xsaz see that for Origin of Name section, jilli. Many names through the millenia
g'night erda :)
hjst, I lived in Shanghai until I was 12, and my Scottish dad worked for the Chinese Postal Remittances and Savings Banks
nighty night
gn erda
thanks, dc -- will look . . .
jillibus: yes, the scots do get about, don't they!
how are yu doing with the language issue outside of work?
(my father is scottish, I grew up in baghdad and muscat)
Mandarin is HARD. I'm struggling to be honest
i found Mandarin much easier than i'm finding Arabic, in terms of writing and grammar especially.
it's the tones I find difficult
most business is now being conducted in english, is that correct? i understand it has become the internationl language even in asia?
you'll get the hang of them faster than you think, hjst; you're hearing it all the time - it'll click
it's all tone and inflection isn't it?
traderkate: yes and no, we're a long way from Beijing and Shanghai here, not many people speak English
dcseain: that's what I'm hoping :-)
tone and emphasis, actually Kate. Due to the tones, inflection is less important, and sometimes impossible.
oftentimes impossible, actually.
must be very difficult, the languages are so different than many of the ones we are more accustomed to..no familiarity whatsoever
ea9 :)
change the tone , change the meaning - right?
and a related ea8 after it
traderkate: yep, my education in latin, ancient greek, french and italian is bugger-all use here :-)
yes, kate. though one syllable/tone can have many meanings zhong1 ranges from China/Middle/Centre to Orange Juice and 5 other meanings, for example. Each meaning has different written form though, at least in traditional characters
doesn't ever seem to help me much at babble either come to that...
LOL hjst
i think we lost Jilli to that wiki article about Xi'an
alrighty, 5 tiles greyed, and 66 for the morrow. A few hrs sleep for me before the morning errands.
Happy Babbling, yall! {goes to hang shirts before bed}

She noticed that there are quite a few clips. I said that she could treat herself to one a day.
hope she gets to see a fewq different dsying swans...they're hillarious
I have seen them on TV. Never live. Would love to.
fantastic live...have seen them 6 times over the years.
pretty sure they travel internationally...
probably london?
ah well. I must sleep. didn't finish :-)
poor freep

97 words
and stopped dead
pretty darn good for thi time of night freep! you can catch the rest tomorrow =)
it'll all be clear in the morning...the fish will jump out at you. lickety is up, think dc found all the big ones fairly quickly
let's just say I didn't get anything over 7 letters
and I typed a few of the same things 20 times or so
i have an 8 courtesy of dc do you want it?
hmmm. okay. that way i can either go to sleep angry... or content
lol...i do that all the time freep...that when i go to the chig, hat i n hand and beg for a clue...you can only stare at it for so long and you just keep going around in circles
okay
tr 8/50 (prefix for three) + (prefix for part of) + Consonant
that is so not a word!
but thank you. I can sleep now, feeling better than ididn't find it
that's exactly what i said!!!
<lurk,lurk> FIREWORDS!!!
slee well my little freep oh look nat this...

Old is right....Had mopre surgery today- minor- still digging around in my leg...yuk- pain is awful so I might as well get some school work done

pain killers not good enough again?
G'Nite, anike! or is it morning???
i'm good anike...miles away, but thanks
dinner time for her
4.15pm here Kate
Pain killers are for chronic pain, not for "fast" pain of surgery

WA is 2 hours behind east coast
i do not think so
too big
thought there wa s somethng like that...knew someone from there was +14 hours from me
Bye for now - see you tomorrow sometime
what I do is add 12 hours, then add three, and flip from am to pm, or the reverse...it works out somehow
bye anike have a nice evening
i'm confuzzled now...
you're an hour behind me , so they'd be 13-15 hours ahead of you
Let's say it's 3:20 am here. Add 12 hours. 3:20. Then add three, 6:20 pm in Australia
ah, but which part?
But I dunno what time zone that is for them
amazing Jaia - 6.21 pm here. Hi all
It just gives me a rough idea of where mr p is
Eastern coast
Hi, lynxx!
+13 hours from you is east coast...+11 hurs from you is west coast

Let's just hope that the message doesn't get translated into massage, because that would open up cans of worms.
Lori!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LORI!
***gratuitous birthday water balloon launch in 3....2....***
Hello you *huge grin* you just made my day!!
Hey kids. How's it goin'?
Nicely done, Lori, her defences will have been down.
Better defenses than pants I always say.
*stands happily dripping all over the floor*
I'm grand, Lori, and just heading out the door. RDA starts this morning so I need to get the jodhpurs on.
Ahh, this IS Thursday, isn't it. Time flies, doesn't it.
Giving everyone a chance to snort (or snot) at the thought of me in jodhpurs. I'm joking. It's about as likely as the leotard from yesterday.
***hands FM Birthday towel***
Anyway, LOVELY to see you fine babblers this morning, but I must go. Maybe see you later? Bye for now.
Love the icon Lori Bye Haz, see you later :)
Have a good time Haz, hope nothing crops up... :p

Hobbit is a media star :)

Glad you have sorted yr internet connections. Lori was on earier too.
my email was taking 2 HOURS to download!
heavens that must have been a bind!
normally I'd ask husband to download from my email at his work, but this time I just couldn't. Some guy from Asia was sending me huge huge image files for Oxonmoot - well, kind of, we are having a "discussion" about what level of adult material should be allowed in the art show. So, he labels all his files to me "pictures of anal sex in comics"
Merrill's would have *loved* that!
LOL and good lord!
I don't think he's very internet-savvy lol!
lol - warning bells would have rung in the IT dept
just a bit!
and on that note I must away for lunch - Happy Babbling.

HAZZZZZZZZZ!
Glitterata!!!!!
'Tis us, indeed. Welcome back!
Back properly, I *hope*. I kind of bodged a fix together rather than did it the official Orange way!
Is your connection all better now or is it still sticky tape and paper clips holding things together?
Hi Haz, lovely icon for FM
Hello Annie! I thought it was nice and colourful. I couldn't find one of a tenrec saying Happy Birthday.
very much sticky tape and paper clips :)
howdy all!!
I'd have been REALLY smug if I'd managed that!
Hello lou.
Hi lou
Are you getting all caught up with the news?
I'm trying. I'm sure I'll miss all sorts of exciting things though
i keep seeing the musician word
FM's still to blame for everything. Nothing new there.
well that couldn't possibly change, ever
That's true. Unless she got some kind of diplomatic immunity.
and she hasn't
Andree has chosen a puppy - a spaniel/poodle cross to be named Beau, there are photos on her profile.
awwwwwwww!!! how adorable
It's a spoodle. And check out lynxx's profile for some really funny dog breed mixes.
spoodle! LOL!!
how's life in Ballymena?
It's fine. We've had lots of sunshine over the past week and the ground is drying up nicely.
we had *huge* deluges a few days ago
Really? The weather is so peculiar, so unsettled. Was there any damage done?
clue for me 7 please
a good few trees / tree branches scattered around. And one scared pup
me7 - one who prefers to use the opposite of imperial measurement of distance?
Poor pup!
ty
Hi, hi, hi all babbler friends. Back last night from 10 days in Italy. 10 days without Babble!!
I can't think of the proper term for not imperial.
she needed to cuddle up to me all night. much rain allll night long
Hello Sally. Did you have a nice time?
You're welcome, Merk.
Fabulous ty Haz. Venice and Florence.
how lovely!
Looks like a nice size grid to return to.
I can feel that green colour rising again.
You mean green as in the colour of pistachio ice cream?
mmmmmmmmmmm
good morning babblers:)
You just had to bring Italian ice-cream into it, didn't you?
why is Italian pistachio ice cream better than pistachio cie cream in any other country?
Innocent look.
Good morning cross.
i can nake a nachio or torrone gelato that whould bring a tear to yer eyes haz;))
The clue might be in it being Italian. I love the way they display their ice-creams.
All Italian ice cream is better, for sure. Wistful sigh.
yes, all Italian ice cream, but *espeically* pistachio LOL
good morning babble friends!!!
Good morning, Trifioso!
howdy trif:)
Good morning trif
NBT, except for that pesky lone r in the bottom corner - any help please?
hi everyone

howdy andree

hi crossy! hi andree!
hi trif!
Hello Andree - I was telling Ata about Beau.

that's from the other r, dorens, but thanks! :)
its an rh trif
oh, I do love the early morning babble crowd!
Andree, she's been in and out a bit.
Is anybody else preening themselves at Trif's praise?
trif nearly 2 weeks, how did your day end up yesterday, did you get through the ordeal okay
when your loaded trif
yes, I survived, thanks. can't say it was the most fun I have ever had, but I maintained grace and decorum throughout.
Andree, the pups look adorable! I'm glad you found a pup that's right for you
oops need tea
oh, that is the rh = 2 vowels then, tri
And the voodoo doll, Trif? Well pockmarked afterwards?
Hello Dorens, didn't see you before.
LOL haz, no.
i did ata , i now have photos of the actual pup, will put that up soon, this lady breeder is so nice, emails me every day with pics
gave that clue a while back...must be invisible lol
and now i'm off to school... later all
got it! thanks
how wonderful :D I bet you can't *wait*!
i can't, i am naming him after the divine springer i had 20 years ago
weirdest ex request was for all the framed wedding photos, which he wants to hang up in his new house. Huh?
how wierd trif
I know, right?
that is strange, trif
apparently he feels it will offer "stability and continuity" for the kids. Um.....no.
I dont believe him
Trif, do not hand over all the pictures
and I had to bite my tongue about in HALF when he said he didn't want to take one painting we had because it would "break up a set". Yes, pity to break up a set, dear
at this point, I am so "whatever, tool" about the whole thing. they are just THINGS - I get the children.
How wise you are Trif.
awwwwww what a lovely way to remember an old friend
I hope you are getting decent child support also (if you dont mind mysaying)
but, please, you all - remind me I said that when the girls have their next "sleepover with cast of thousands" okay? LOL
I agree Trif
don't know yet annie. hopefully? I am trying to focus on needs, not wants. If I have enough to cover what we need, we will be fine.
The children will have a loving and stable home with you, Trif.
I can stretch a dollar, believe you me! raised by two depression babies, and a grammy that knew hard, hard times in Scotland during WWI. AND, I am a Yankee gal to boot! A Scottish New Englander is the very definition of thrift!
good morning all
but you deserve more TRif- you did not do this... remember that
Good morning, Wolvie.
hi wolvie
As long as you don't have to resort to drawer porridge, Trif.
drawer porridge! lololol
gruel
Legend has it that Scots people would make vast quantities of very thick porridge, store it in drawers and hack out a piece as required.
lol Haz
Yes, which is fine. Their Dad should also take care of the children's financial needs. The financial burden should fall entirely on you.
oh my
I have never heard that Haz
DR dearest, I have a roof over my head, food for my table, and a warm, clean bed to sleep in. Good health, and people who love me. I need to remember that - I already have more than I deserve
hey ata!
It's probably a vicious rumour but it's a good story.
yes, more fine dining from the folks who brought the world haggis
trif - i can tell you are strong just from your posts. Will keep positive thoughts for you. :-)
haz, you are too funny. ;-)
my dad in scotland before the war would spend his small amount of pocket money on potatoes and gravy
ok Trif- * stepping off my soap box- HUGS
thick porridge with SALT in
HUGS right back!
You wouldn't dream of putting SUGAR in porridge if you're a Scot. It's against the law.
I think I would probably take my chances with drawer porridge over grits. I just can't eat grits at all. (shudder)
you have the right attitude trif
my dad had his all his life with salt
Drawer porridge is the way forward. You can bring it with you when you move house and everything.
ew ew ew ew. salty porridge is horrid
ata - you back with a broadband now?
provided you can lift the drawer, haz!
I *think* so, wolfie. either that or this is a fluke for a few hours lol
well neighbor me on farmville girl, you got me started. :-)
You're never suggesting that a brawny Scot wouldn't be able to lift his own drawers? Haven't you seen them chucking telegraph poles about?
can manage grits or porridge, just not a huge plateful of utterly bland biscuits and gravy
I hope it lasts!
getting there! got millions of requests to work through!
LOL haz!
qu6 please
and when you don't need the drawer porridge for food, you can use it to block the tires of your car on a steep incline
eeewwww to grits. ;-0
oh - is there a grid? lol
Absolutely, BabbleRabble, it's a multipurpose food.
or tool. ;-)
I think I should patent it before anybody else does.
or use it as a trampoline
I do too haz
brain, please stop entering the word "chair!" it is not in the grid today.
ata - i don't think it would have much bounce. lol
but it should be trif
i keep seeing it too
the skin on the top would be lol
oh gads, haz, a memory stirs! used to get horrible oatmeal at summer camp - left in the bowl untouched, it would congeal into a bouncy blob, that you actually could bounce a spoon on. icky
eewww lol
It could be used to describe some babble grids. 'It's like trying to hack out a piece of drawer porridge.'
ahh i remember porridge as a child..grey as a november school morning and thick enough to stop a bullet;/
now with extra wood lice!
andree, I am looking for that qu in between chats
I am so not hungry after this chog
qu + hairy-nosed dolphin, changed last letter
lol
ty ata!
thx ata
And I suppose, cross, it was sold to you as being fit to put hairs on your chest.
now the table sppon of cod liver oil was sold as that
funny dr i am not hungry either
You really had a good time as a child, didn't you, cross?
was interesting
Like some of these words.
i didnt even know there was such a thing as prepared cerials till i was 13
DR, I had a apple cider donut for breakfast today - very yummy!
corn flakes blew my mind for years lol
sounds very yummy- I am still in bed watching cnn- it is only 520
good morning everyone
howdy flo
hi flo
Good morning, flosey!
crossy, here's a bit of trivia for you - what country leads the world in corn flake consumption per capita?
must be the usa
darn, I changed my icon but it hasn't taken it was for FM's 50th birthday
It has, flosey, I can see it.
nope - ireland! of all places
mm go figure cornflakes and single malt scotch must go good together;))
Begorrah! They're fond of the cornflakes, are they?
hi all
until someone invents beer flakes, of course!
hey jmc
oh thankyou Haz, I still see the old one - I updated internet explorer and have had problems since!
They probably lost the recipe for drawer porridge and are having to make do with cornflakes.
bacon flakes!!!
that would be faith and begorrah. ;-)
of course crossy
It's there, a jolly 50, flosey.
sodom and begorrah?
then if FM is in, she'll see it too, thanks Haz
flakes and begorrah
oh lol ata
what prevented this drawer porridge from growing hair?
even better trif!
She will, flosey, she's been in and out a bit today.
hi jean
worst breakfast I ever hand was when my hosts had ground the oats to a powder and then cooked it -- I had to eat it to be polite -- I nearly gagged myself to death
salt!
Sub-zero temperatures in the winter, Esprit.
hi wolvie, hi everyone
ground oats? oh my
ugh jmc! the very idea! gag
esprit, every day you just skim the crust off it before reheating it
ewwwwwww
so many ewwws today, lol
yuk
ho flosey
sounds pretty revolting
it was like eating slug -- the only thing that saved it was the 5 grapes cut in half
original andree! ;-)
hence the Pease porridge hot, pease porridge cold, pease porridge in the pot, nine days old
slug! gross!!!
ROFL - these folks still friends of yours jmc?
They couldn't get pease porride in the drawer to rhyme with anything.
we could stop eatin it when we got the the stain half way down the pot
nine days old must refer to the drawer porridge
didn't know slugs wer edible
disgusting noises fail me
may I say, this is the most entertaining lurking in DAYS! LOL
escargot
hey une!
that is probably the point Jean
hi une
Nine days? It would only be starting to settle down at nine days. They kept it for months.
I love escargot
anything that actually grew in the pot was a bonus;)
hey, andree :-)
and wolvie :-)
Hello Une!
snails, but slugs are different and huge
porridge in the drawer, leads to braw- n and caber tossing
you are on a roll crossy, or have had everything on one. ;-0
we could be on to something here . . . the "Aversion Diet"
hey, haz!
the people were hosts of me when I was traveling for work so I never have to stay there again
and every so often to change things up it would be cream of wheat
Kind of free rhyme there, Ata, but we know what you mean.
jean, i think it would work.lol
Andree, wagging finger re not adopting a rescue dog BUT your pic is adorable!
well TG for huge favors then jmc. wow
Oh, don't, Une, she's had more than wagging fingers to contend with.
They just arrested the guy for killing the Yale graduate student
I was watching Andrew Zimmern eating disgusting things with bushmen in the Kalahari last nite
it is isn't it une
wont even go there
gee - i have actually managed 12 words since i signed on, lol
I didn't mean slugs the snail like things I meant a word I obviously can't spell the muddy industrial residue
oh, they did? was it the lab tech?
yes it was
oh sludge
sludge?
got the DNA results?
really, DR? I saw that they released the lab tech yesterday . . .
EEWWWWW jmc
do they have a motive? that poor woman
yes Wolvie
dr that is good news
crossy , i never had cereal as a kid only porridge in our house, now i can't even look at it, yuk
poor fiancee and family!
sounded like that was going to be the case last nite. That poor girl
and fiancee as Jean says
Une- they arrested him about 20 minutes ago- not motive given
sad all around.
well the good news -- such as it is, is that the Yale students don't have to continue to be afraid
true
It is sad for everyone
and their PARENTS!
good point, jmc. school has barely started. I am sure a lot of parents were very nervous!
snap, une!
Mary Travers of Peter, Paul and Mary, is dead at age 72 from cancer
;(
ohhh I wondered who Mary travers was!
that is sad too BR
too bad BR
i know, BR -- in the news last nite -- very sad . . .
oh. sorry to hear about that BR. bummer
I can not remember such a summer for notable people dying
saw them perform in my little hometown when I was in high school . . .
there is a major swine flu epidemic at GWU where my son is a student
Henry Gibson died yesterday too - 72 or so - cancer
me either Trif- even yesterday the guy on the news commented on that
DR - do you watch Brian Williams too? ;-)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6tlo0a VII0
what is the general feeling regarding swine flu vaccine, jmc? Are they advocating it in your locale?
the head of one of the sororities had it and decided that they couldn't hold rush week without her so she gave it to most of the women students there
oooh jmc - hope all goes well there
yes Wolvie-
I will miss Henry Gibson too
me too, jmc

or your own water bottle?
yes, harp. used to be able to take it on full, but i'm not sure about that anymore
ty
yes on the water bottle, as long as tsa can see thru it. or they may ask you to take a drink from it.
You can take an empty bottle through security, but I think you can then fill it at a water fountain on the other side, and take that on.
it's been a while since I've flown, so rules have probably changed again.

ty will watch for it tonight. interesting...lots of pre-election posturing now...the crap sure flies from the conservatives
I do believe manure is produced generally by all politicians, regardless of party tendencies.
in fact, I have been known to shovel a bit myself on occasion...
thanks for the hugs and choclits, btw
I was so amused when I happened to get caught by the president of guatemala giving a speech in a small town and his speech was exactly like all the speeches I ever heard by U.S. politicians
*grin* and of course they are completely unaware they are doing it!
hi all, back to see if I can finish up
hi wolvie
hey wolvie~!

hey pini! thanks *thinking*
(compound)
just saddened, we used to have such civilized elections- all platform lots of respectful debate...but since 90's has degraded markedly. used to have a real sense of pride in our electoral process...was quite smug...now am sometimes shamed by our politicians...former mp and husband of sitting mp got nabbed for drunk driving yesterday and - get this possession of cocaine...sickening
and thanks Chrissie too -- got that one so NBT. now to find the others...
plus ic 4/6
hi pini!
well duh - late per usual. ;-)
hi pini
In many cases, manure has more redeeming qualities than politicos.
hi jmc ;)
hi wolvie
but better late than never Wolvie
very true BR.
;-)
you're just trying to be like US, Kate... (pun intended) and sadly, succeeding.
Politics- n. A strife of interests masquerading as a contest of principles. The conduct of public affairs for private advantage
they always used drugs and drank --- they used not to get called out for it
good, but sad, definition, BR

White stools could be an indication of lack of bile being emptied from liver/gall bladder into small intestine, thus potential blockage of bile flow. But white/tan stools could just be from a rapid "transit time" through GI tract

rum's always a good idea, stid
stid,i used to use rum/itallian equiv all the time in ther cakes
need a good home-made vegan whipped topping though...
yw, Tk, but stid actually had it right: Great minds (not good ones)
amaretto!!!! mmmmmmmmm
hi dc put the chocolate -raspberry chambord cake on the buffet menu for you...lots of baking in the PB today!!!
or grappa
can do vegan toping. brb
Stid, in a food processor: 1 LB tofu, whir till smooth with oil for consistency and powdered sugar to taste, tiny bit of vanilla. Lovely vegan whipped cream
we put the budgie on stidkid#2's shoulder today, and he played hairdresser but wouldn't even give a teensy "arr" -- maybe I need to spike his birdseed with RUM!
i'm back from folding luandry
hello to all who came in
stid, are you a veggan?
remember always use appleton estates spiced rum;))
3 TBS oil works usually, more or less.
thanks seain -- will tell tom. should it be silken tofu?
wb, lil*
no, not silken
not at the moment nef, but my food allergies mean that vegan is safest.
hi dcseain!
regular, either firm or soft
hey! whiskey is vegan:)))
for how Irish I am, you'd think I'd like whiskey. but actually rum "feels" nicer to me.
wow. that takes more effort than I could do (not that I normally cook much; but vegan would be tough
rum is also very nice..see below for siced rum props;0
Good evening everyone.
Hello dcseain! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
hi peachy
going full vegan would be nasty
1lb regular tofu, 1 lb canned or fresh pumpkin, plus spices and ginger all processed together makes a yummy pumpkin custard pie, too. Bake at 350 for 30-40, as a custard.
Hi lil*monkey! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
never tried spiced rum. I don't like to drink alcohol, but do like the flavor in cooked dishes.
Hello gapeach1066!How are you? Welcome to the grid
i disagree crossy, a vegan diet can be very satisfying
Hey there, lil*monkey
TY minver, how r u?
Howdy, Min.
This is a recipe adapted by Alice for a cookie recipe, and she thought it might be good on pumpkin pie this Thanksgiving. She was right! 1/2 c. shortening 1/2 c. stick margarine 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar 2 1/4 tbsp. Corn syrup 1 tbsp. Vanilla 3/16 tsp. Salt 1 12.5-oz jar Schmucker's marshmallow ice cream topping Beat together first 6 ingredients with mixer's wire whisk attachment. Beat in marshmallow topping on high speed until evenly incorporated.
a tofu pie??...sorry dont think im strong enough
I'm well, howeverI'm SICK of this grid. I'll give up soon
Yes, I know, Min.
hi would someone please help me with the ra4,4 have the hard to find one
i've served it to many people who cannot tell it from one with eggs and milk, crossy. I do warn that it has soy content though.
Does anyone have a clue for the tr 7/36 word please?
we have done something similar to that, seain... will copy these down.
ar5-12 please.....Thanks
ra 4/4 is ra plus two more vowels regis & hello there!
we use tofu in LOTS of things, cross. It's a good substitute for the egg-milk combo often used.
ra4 - finish it with vowels
but no cheese?..NO CHEESE?? ..im sorry id give up meat before i could give up cheese
We sometimes go on vegetarian kicks; but vegan is a lot more restrictive than we've ever tried
But then we have a friend who is allergic to soy... and one of our kids really doesn't do well on vegan diet (one does better -- go figure)
extend ar4.4
q? what do vegans do as a calcuim replacement when the kids go vegan?
did someone ask for the tr8?
the problem I find is that people who actually eat a lot of food that would be vegan get weirded out when we come to visit and make a BIG DEAL out of how far out of their way they have to go to accomodate my food allergies.
kale, tofu, orange juice with added calcium...
ahh
TR 8: kate clued as "3 prefix + half prefix + consonant"
crossy would be eating a lot of french fries to fill the void lol
did yu kinow that soy acts like estrogen in the body as it breaks down...it's not just extra body fat that's making today's girls reach menarche at an earlier and earlier age...scary if you think about it
Hello again. I am thinking of making the switch from vegetarian to vegan.
poor poor cross.
hi, scrabbs
well, come visit, cousin! we'd be able to feed you!
I do see far more early-onset puberty in girls than I ever did.
Seain--in Cleveland now?
and what does the soy/estrogen do to males?

Ingredients: 1 cup drained and blotted soft silken tofu 2 tablesppons confectioners' sugar or 1/4 cup sugar syrup* or natural liquid sweetener 1 tablespoon safflower or other neutral-tasting oil 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 1/4 teaspoon fresh lemon juice Directions: 1. Place the tofu, confectioners' sugar, oil, vanilla, and lemon juice in a blender or food processor and process until smooth and creamy. 2. Transfer to a small container, cover, and refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving. This topping should be used within a few hours after making it. * Sugar Syrup combine 1/4 cup of sugar or other granular sweetener with 1/4 cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and cook, stirring, until the sugar is dissolved, about 1 minute. Remove from the heat and allow to cool before using. If you're not using sugar, use a light-tasting natural sweetener so it doesn't overpower the flavor of the topping.
sorry
funny up here cause everything is shipped in the winter..going vegetarian would be about 4x the normal food bill..yea no boy-tofu bobbies
EXCEPT, kate -- that cultures that have a lot of soy in its regular forms (and as tofu and tempeh) DON'T hit menarche early. I think it's like the added sugars ...
ummm, sue?
go sue go!
Chim chiminy chim chiminy chim chim cheree

they get feminine traits...you know boobies etc. but need high doses in males to have effect because they have so much more testerone to counteract the estrogen.
yes, what stid said about tofu vs other soy additives
I am waiting for my nephew to get home so he can help me get 2 kayaks on top of my car.
Thanks, dcseain, tried extending the ar4-4 but still can't find it.
A sweep is as lucky as lucky can be!
we tend to not eat a lot of prepared (canned/frozen/fried and bagged) foods in our family. And our boys have NEVER had a problem with androgens.
add a consonant, peach
Yay, Seain!
I'm seeing lots of early-onset puberty too, but can't figure out why it would be in lower income families
i was stunned at my sons 8th grade grad...theese are 14 year old girls??!
Obesity...adipose increases androgen production
and they have NEVER had cow products unless at other people's houses. Almost exclusively soy milk (some almond and other nut milks)
there is speculation it is hormones fed to animals to increase wieght
yes, big problem with that in PR a few years back
Nef, we have had 3 teens with positive pregnancy tests in the last 2 wks. I had to deliver the news to a 17 yr old and then her mother on Monday
there are SO MANY industrial chemicals that are in our homes (and food) now that mimic androgens
oh scrabs, that is so sad.
how difficult, scrabbs
Yes, I see so many kids/teens that have no respect for themselves, their parents, their future, etc
last ch6?
I nearly cried when I looked at the test result as I gathered up the strength to break the news
a 'ch6' makes light into a rainbok
rainbow
the last CH is the greasy stuff used in ordinations and baptisms in liturgical churches (not sure about the others)
Hello kje! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle!
GREAT clue seain
and hey kje
my brother as you know is living in costa rica, and the local diet is so different, leans more towards rice, beans, lots of fruit and fish..living the junk food life there is way out of reach for local wages in most cases
*thinking about multi-colored antelopes in Africa* (rainbok)
Thanks, dcseain.
LOL, Stid
I have a 15 year old who just had a positive pregnancy test; and she has a 1 year old child too! Poor kid is scared her family will force her to have an abortion
yes cross, it's a sorry state of affairs when affluence leads to a LESS healthy diet!
greasy stuff... o-ka-ay
and she's alread 16 weeks
i used to work at a discount store that did 90% of its sales in Food Stamps. It was fascinating what native-born US peeps bought vs the Latin American immigrants bought.
oh gee, nef! that poor child. and HER poor children.
got it, thanks
We have a 21 yr old mother with 3 kids--first at age 15
it has happened..im actually a tad jealous of him..he can get a 10 pound bag of oranges for the eq of 1 dollar cad
it's the stuff they put on the forehead for the blessing, the anointing oil, kje
US people eat TONS of prepared foods, junk food, soda and crap.
21 with 3 kids...;(
And a 25 yr old mother with 4 kids 10 and under
in cultures where there is a long history of soy consumption( don't mean 10-20 yrs.), you will probably find genetics accounts for menaqrche onset. in western cultures, where obesity rates are sky-rocketing- especially amongst the poor who can't afford decent diet...manarche has come at an alarmingly eary rate...10 years olds is not uncommon anymore!..the move from our mother's generation to our own is mostly due to better diet from increased wealth post ww2...but noew...it's mcdonald's kfc no exercise and kraft dinner
Today I saw a 91 lb 4 yr old
it's a viscious cycle, isn't it, scrabs?
a local costa rican make 100-300 per month on average
91 pounjds!!
i will now climb down from my soap box and listen to others respectfully
stid, you said that your family eats very little canned or prepared foods. I can my own; started just because I was raised that way
My job mostly saddens me but there are responsible parents out there that I admire greatly
NO! oh that is awful. We have increasing obesity rates among young children here, too. It's so sad to see FAT children, too winded to play, and no interest in it anyway.
we freeze a good bit of fruit when it comes ripe (most years), but canning for some reason feels a lot more difficult. I would love to do more with vegetables and sauces.
I can't imagine what a 91 lb 4 year old would even look like!
Yes, this little boy came in due to leg cramps with exercise. Well, he is a 91 lb 4 yr old!!
Usually I just buy fresh veggies year-round and make the sauces and all as we need them.
Scrabs, that is so sad.
My 4 year olds were about 30 pounds.... skinny, wiry little guys.
ea8?
what you see from the moon when the planet moves lower...
opposite the EA 9
i didn't weigh that much in grade 9!
i weighed in the 50s through 3rd grade... and was tall - they were constantly trying too fatten me up
i can do vegan or vegetarian, but we eat very little beef and more fish, and lol as you may guess my bacon mania is mostly for entertainment value or id vapour lock my heart;0
Yes, I see so many parent-induced problems in kids: obesity + feral behavior rank up there
We're lucky here in Florida, fresh veggies year around. Just have to buy local from farmers you know.
We buy fresh too, but I've put up 14 gallons of frozen grapes to make juice and jellies from once it cools down. We also dehydrate food (lately, mostly herbs and such) too
Hi Pida--lucky you
scrabs, there was an interesting "letter" I saw recently... hold on. (hey pida)
ty stidder
me too kje...appetite stimulants, though i ate...they just thought i was too thin...just genetics...
I became chubby during puberty and the struggle has continued since then
latch key kids playing video games and eating chips and hot pockets ...for dinner
Most of the problem with obesity and gender-bending comes from the antibiotics they inject into cows to make them grow faster, and the BHt they inject into cows to make more milk.
no appetite stimulants... I ate, I just didn't gain... ran constantly
And don't forget all the frutose corn syrup in proccessed food
Absolutely, Kate. Inactive kids. Overeating. Bad diets. Too much juice and pop and sports drinks.
it's not hard, though it is a bit more expensive, to avoid the hormones and bht
i use to tell the doc i was skinny cuz i always pooped after i ate - they ignored me of course - LOL
my problem didn't start til about 12 years ago when I fell off a ladder cleaning gutters and ruined both knees. No more dancing.
Haha, kje
last new 3 of fat cell produced around 16-17 for girls....if you get by that age you're usually okay...but again...genetics
May I please have a clue for ci9-60? Thanks.
my cable just went out...BOO
I forgot about watching The Office tonight. Oh, well.
dancing is great exercise
oh, only some channels, t g i can watch rest of fringe from fox, buffalo
ci9= movie related with an operatic solo
ci9 - starts like a movie house + consanant + operatic solo
do you watch the british ones or usd ones scrabs?
do you watch the british ones or usd ones scrabs?
or what nef said
thank you, Nef :)
US ones, but I want to watch the Ricky Gervais ones
ty kje

imho, the british orig. are much funnier
here in winter, fresh frits and veggies getm os $$$ that it is not possible to go vegetarian ive seen tomatos in winter go for 4 dollars a pound!
That ce9 took me 3 tries but I got it finally. TY
hate hate hate the us office
here, fruit/veggie prices are about the same year-round.
I love it--quirky characters
http://www.theroot.com/views/mommy-and -daddy-are-fat that's the article I was thinking about scrabs...
Thanks much, kje and Nef.
my kids were in dance , and I was saying "how come you didn't get that step down?" etc.; so they told me "You do it and see how hard it is!" So I did! I took jazz, tap, and hip-hop fusion jazz (and that's the year I ripped an acl and a meniscus
lot cheaper in the big smoke crossy..you'rejust a little too far out. the only good thing about free trade is fresh strawberries etc all year around...brought strawbs for shortcake in jan, they were amazed!!!!
TY, Stid--got it up now. OK, Peter is home. Time to get kayaks on car.
wow nef! good for you, but sorry you got hurt and can't dance any more.
I used to love to dance.
you're lucky dc...why i wonder, transport is so much more from south. hemisphere...unless yu're getting ripped on the summer prices
later scrabs. say hello to Peter.
I freeze local strawberries and raspberries -- tastier than nything you can buy.
oh no nef acl??? poor thng surgery?
hi7?
may i have a clue pls for tr8 & tr7?
DC lives in a BIG urban area (D.C.) so there is a discount of sorts for bulk shipping.
hello jill!!!
bye scrabs, did yu visit PB for birthday buffet? menu in profile
hi + cons + movie house
we are just in a relatively mild climate, and near enough to seattle that anything not usually grown here is still available.
kate, it's very expensive here. We get cheap peaches, corn, greens, tomatos, apples, pears, and some other things grown locally when in season. And mushrooms are all grown locally.
ty BGH!
how is sunny southern cal, tor?
has surg on both knees , 2 yrs apart, TK.
tr 8/50 = (prefix for 3 ) + (prefix for half, se4/5) + consonant

take care, stid :)

dc, you are so near rich farm country. does the state od MD have a prgram to promote farm co-ops? in nj. they bring farmer together with consumers. you buy in to a share of the farm and get fresh goods all growing season
bye stid, hagn
hi 7 = hi + ci 4/5 (nmovie)
bye stiddie
jilli, I totally agree with you about local being better. My neighbor from Iran ate some of my strawberries and got so excited because in the 4 years she's been here she hadn't eaten any strawberries that tasted like her uncles until she ate mine
that's awful, come out okay? had one done myself
VA and MD both do that. I can walk to 3 farmer markets from my house. and there are many CSA options here, too.
ty kate
baltimore had some nice farmer's markets
loved the tomato guy with like 50 varieties - it was awesome
yo can buy in to a one crop farm or to multi crop farms which include fresh flowers and jams and cheeses
here, right now, friends are offering heaps of apples, plums, pears, you name it, to their pals, the harvest is so bountiful after the glorious summer we had after a rain-soaked year before. The food bank is overflowing.
in7? is it a fish?
To, I'd love a plan like that I think. I would totally buy only local if I could; and it would really help the farmers too
It's a planet
so you just go pick them up each week, they giceyou whatever the week's harvest is
all the manure flying in d.c....i dshould hope mushroom s should be really cheap to produce...LOL
nm, found it
growing up, we grew hot peppers, tomatos, cucumbers, summer and winter squashes, pumpkins, strawberries, roses, and sometimes other things like peanuts and okra in our garden.
Kate, they're grown in the many caves of Pennsylvania.
<lurking insomniac>
hi, jai
hai jai :)

We grow beans and peas (except some critter ate all of the plants this year!); strawberries, raspberries, zucchini, tomatoes, radishes, rhubarb, mulberries, chokecherries, peppers, salad greens, lots of herbs, and other stuff
Do I have to spell out a forbidden word before you will let me into the PB?
Right with you on the okra K ..
never dc - not fried, not stewed, and not in gumbo
slimey evil pod
ai laik okra in jambalAIa
jai, come as you are
how about a phantom like archimedes?
only slimey when not cooked right. Try it Indian-style sometime. not slimy at all.
my mom likes pickled okra
nef et al, see this example http://www.uppermeadowsfarm.com/CSA.ht ml
like he flowers of bergamot
tastes like dirt to me DC
it yummy pickled with a bit of hot pepper.
community supported agriculture
what is indian style okra dc?
I am starving and you are talking food....
ah, okra to you sort of like cilantro to others.
I can't grow veggies -- not enough fencing to keep the dear deer out.
great program for families and ltd income
I love parsley, not cilantro.
*passes jai some choc chip cookies and a hot buttered rum*
and see, I adore cilantro - on everything
love cilantro too
crossy goes and hugs a pound of bacon for comfort..
cilantro is a happy. it featured prominently in a soup i had last night.
<takes the rum and tosses the cookies to the dog>
sc7, pls?
ach, just fashionable parlsey, cilantro is.
that's why you can't sleep jai...can't sleep hungry...have some toast or something
it is a little squirrelly, dc....
Bananas and milk, jai
thanks, TO (Boy! Chat is fast tonight!)
crossy why the bacon security blanket?
not at all jilli - totally differnet taste, though I like parsley too
Has everyone here finished except me?
brb
don't you think it's neat nef?
I am done. Will return after I have raided the fridge.

i heard about it for the first time at the flower show this year. some shares can be as much as $800 but for a whole season
In spite of the fact that I went to a perfoemance last night
jai, what mean you by 'it's a little squirrelly'?
the philly philharmonic or;)
won't do, TK - I want a real one
jilli, i ate vietnamese last night, a cuisine to which cilantro is native.
WEll, typos tell me it's dinnertime
i'm back! didja miss me?
Of course lbd ..
now crossy wants chineese food;/
but it is real kje it is!
ahhh (((TORG)))
TO, I would really like to do that. Now I have to see if I can find such a thing here for next year. Thanks!!
always, dawg :)
(((DC)))
the stuff you squirt out of a can like whipped cream crossy?
splitting a CSA share with a friend or neighbor can make it more affordable, and easier to use it all.
DAWG!!!!! missed you lots...buffet ready
lol chineese food in a can kate??!! sorry not here yet:)
maybe I like cilantro hidden, dc, although vietnamese restaurants don't exist on this island, but pilesw of the stuff on otherwise delicious foods are a turnoff to me.
(((TK))), buffet of what?
OR you can start one. if you need a job you can become the czar in your state
for FM's 50th...pic in icon...menu in profile, goodies in profile
i think a lot of folks over do the cilantro. it's good for a light flavoring, but can be overwhelming and takes over the other flavors
i think it tastes like soap.
lots of big 50,s going on this year it seems;)
ahhh, birthday bash! gotcha
but if you need real food i can make you some crepes or an omelet
ive never eaten cilantro,as it does not go with bacon;))
bfn -- back soon, or as Wol would have wrtn, BACKSON, BIZY BACKSON.
i made 3 more loaves of zucchini bread, this time with choco chips and pecans
i baked all day to ger ready for this
I just think that that would be so neat! The suburb I live in has a great farmers market with all sorts of local stuff (from cheese to fresh veggies and fruit to meat even); but it's on an evening when I have to work and I've missed it a lot this summer. A CSA would take care of that
yummy dawg, need recipe
PANTS ON FIRE, tk, i BET!
first one to show up at my door with warm home made cron bread will have me as slave for the day;)0
corn bread
sorry, caps lock on :(

and that only takes 20 minutes?
and salt crossy...or do use bacon as a substitute?
TK, go to food network, search zucchini bread. emeril legassi's is the one i used. subbing applesauce for the oil

sea salt ground coarse
ty dawg
secret is not to rush it and let the pots "chill for 10 min
any other tweeks?
any other tweeks?

dawg - same amount apple sauce as oil?
yup
ty
0.5C applesauce replaces an egg
don't think hubby would like a cup of applesauce for breakfast! lol
;) i meant in baking
i know, just teasing
after making 8 loaves of zucchini bread this week, i've learned that you have to really grease those pans. don't use the spray stuff, it just doesn't work well enough to keep the bread from sticking

Oh yeah ..
LOL
did I mention it's a plaid nightshirt, with a big winnie the pooh on the front? sex me up!

hi trif hi jc hi tor
Hi, Kate! :)
bill clinton is on the daily show! he looks much more relaxed now that he doesn't have the wait of the country on his shoulders!
Nice and warm with the weather getting chillier, Trif. ;)
i'm away to pack, as we leave in the AM. so i'll be around not much for the next 10 days
where are you off to, dc?
all apologies, I am a bit out of the loop....
Yes, I'm away later in the coming week . . . for the rest of the autumn. Busy, busy - won't have much if any time for Babble . . .
You still up, TK?
good lawd, jc! JCapalooza!
yeah i'm here tor
bopping in and out..just getting ready to eat a bite...
How does one eat a bite? I can take a bite or suffer a bite, but didn't know it was possible to consume one? :P
as in grab a bite...idiom ;-)
How literal of me . . . :P
Cleveland, OH, as Tom's surgery is next week, and he wants to go to Cedar Point on Saturday :) Plus, my grandfather had a major stroke today, so we'll be paying call on grandma Sunday to attend mass with her, then hopefully visit grandad
you are the very devil tonight jc
Kind of the way one takes a sh4 maybe?
Oh goodness - very sorry to hear that, Séain! :(
will you be able to let us know how things are going dc? realize you won't have time for babble
I don't take those, torgone - I leave them, and flush! :P
oh, I am sorry to hear about your grandfather! But Cedar Point is a blast, you will all love it! Watch out for Demon Drop though - scary as hell!
good to know, trif
LMAO tor............
and thank you :)
Cedar Point is a hoot ..
i'll be updating via LiveJournal and Facebook mostly
What day is Tom's surgery, Séain?
how long a drive to you have ahead of you?
about 8 hours? 9?
If you like microbrews, go to Great Lakes Brewery .. Good food too ..
I am trying to remember how many it was from DC to Columbus....
6.5 hours by car
Cleveland Clinic is the best .. He'll be in very competent hands ..
indeed, torgone, that's why he chose it
and def grab some trail bologna while you are there. sigh....
Popping in just to wish Seain a good trip, healing thoughts and prayers to your Grandfather and Tom.
Yes, I'm glad he's going there then - what day is his surgery, Séain?
Thursday the 24th at 06:30 gmt-4
Oh, I see - will think positive thoughts for him then!
thanks :)
You're more than welcome . . .
Hi, Nef . . .
gee whiz, these h's are nigh on impossible!
tom hates bologna and i don't eat meat, but thank you for the suggestion, trif :)
hiya buddies
High-fives, Séain! :)
lol, no worries dc! just a happy memory from college...
Hi, Gwen . . .
hi, gwen
are we having a fun grid or an evil grid?
Hmmm . . . I haven't decided. I wittled it dow to 50 words much earlier (yesterday), but doubt I will finish.
I am giving up - does that answer your question, gwen? the h's are so miserable!
Erm - 'down', that is. :P
Go to the market at 25th and Lorain and get fresh stuff and ethnic specialties ..
Oh no, are they Trif? :/ I haven't completed that section yet.
this grid is no more difficult than any other grid today
This grid is a steaming lump of sh4 ..
oh dear (trembling) lol
