That's the problem with photos, you know how you want to look in them, but you can't fight with the passport camera. It's deliberately set at 'slightly disappointing' ranging to 'unrecognisable'.

I might find a photo booth and have another go. This was done in a corner of the local chemist's shop. They tug a blind down and point a special camera at you, that then regurgitates four copies. I asked for another go but they asked for another £4!
Well, all you can do is to go to someone and get a full make-up and hairdo done and then bribe the photo operator to set the camera to 'just about acceptable to the majority of the public'

I suppose I always think of Japanese maples as being a kind of upper class tree. All that colour and delicacy and needing to be in the right place. They're very beautiful.

Well, she has had recent Cataract and lens implant surgery, so her vision is not always great, plus, when she is in unfamiliar situations, her hearing problem (Deaf in one ear) becomes very apparent. She gets very tired quickly.
When I visit her at home, I dont note any of this...but on this trip it was very apparant...
*sigh* well age has a way of doing that

red, well, I can certainly identify with your Mom minus the cataract surgery (which is in my future)
I had just seen her in November, so I was surprised, but she really doesn't navigate too well, out of her element.
i remember coming home from college and being astounded at the changes in my parents... and that was 25 years ago!

they are still living and aging well into their 80s
I just had to be a little more patient, and she still navigates quite well, all over the beach with her Camera and tripod...

at least she's still getting out and getting around red and there is seldom enough patience between children and parents...no matter the age
Hearing loss is quite frustrating and embarassing. What? What? LOL
It really is, she hears great out of her left ear, but nothing on the right. It did have its bonuses, she missed some hotel noise.
I just have to remember to talk to the correct ear. otherwise she ignore me!

For some people it isn't, but it totally bothers my Mother. She also hears a lot of low hums and vibrations from machines which aggravate her.
plus very hard for her in resturaunts, hard to sort out background noise etc.'

shes doing pretty well with it these days, I just try to remember to ask for "the quietest spot" and to have her sit on the right side.

It is free entrance Aloy. They have an excellent visitor center, and a "drive" called The black Point Wildlife drive, placed on mudflats and the birds tend to hang out in groups there. I'm going again this weekend if I can get the dog to be relaxed enough!

interesting.. the light DOES affect the sea turtles... these nanners had a cylindrical shape before they filled out and ripened; they are shorter and fatter than the ones you buy in the store.. a bit darker yellow
they should be so that the skin is easy to peal
