Hi Sprite and all

hello
hi Infernal

hi lady
and bye lady, lol.
has it been a good day, lyn?
Not anything exciting but got some small stuff out of the way, so was OK. What are you doing today?
gonna walk Terra in a minute, then lunch with my daughter, a bit of writing, and the laundry. Nothing much today, I will let myself compensate for the busy yesterday :)
and FireFlies!
Congrats Sprite!
thanks :) Have a nice evening, lyn. Bye all!
Your son doesn't lunch with you? is his school further away?
yes, and he doesn't come home for lunch anymore, now that he is in highschool. Shorter breaks, and hanging out with his friends during lunch is much nicer
Just the girls then, nice. Bye Sprite, have a good day
thank you!
Good morning/evening all.
good morning Haz
Hello! It looks like a nice grid - feeling happy that I can spot lw and iw words.
Feels like a good one for me too, not too easy. and of course I had spotted those words too (cough cough)
Morning Haz and evening lynxxx
Good morning, FM!
hi FM
Poor lynxx has got a tickle in her throat.
Glad to see you are spreadking the news the re the moonlight walk Haz :)
Yes, I thought I'd take the plunge and Ata has been spreading the word on facebook as well.
Well it is such a good cause.
It is, I'm happy to be able to do something.
Have you been up and doing?
At least it will be cool waling at the time of night - going to be 80 here today, so am heading out shortly to do errands before it gets too hot.
*walking even!
Yes, I walked yesterday afternoon and was distinctly 'glowing' by the end.
lol glowing like a neuclear reactor I bet.
For 'glowing' read red and sweaty.
Did I read yesterday that you were in shorts?
a blackbird had me in fits of giggles this morning as it was having it's bath as it spasked about and then just enjoyed sitting in the cool water.
Had to go and refil the birdbath after he ad finished :)
Wish I was that blackbird. It's roasting here!
yes, I wa and will be again today but not for public consumption just at home and in the garden.
Did it wallow like a hippo? Or did it lie with its head turned to the sun?
It was wallowing. Good morning hydra!
Hello, hydra. This sort of weather makes the thought of air conditioning attractive, doesn't it?
Hi Haz, FMitch, Sprite, Lynxxx. No stats today and a big grid! Yes, aircon would be good.
aActually it was doing a good job of watering the surrounding plants - perhaps I should strategically place more birdbaths around the garden?
at 80?
Good idea!
We have a crow that dips bread in the bird's drinking bowl to soften it, before taking it back to the nest. Very intelligent thing to do.
we are not used to hot weather lynxxx
I ought to try and film it for Springwatch.
Don't forget, lynxxx, we think it's a heatwave when the sun shines for more than an hour or two.
Mum has a crow that does that too.
Oh. It must be common crow behaviour then. I didn't know that.
good morning everybody
Morning ruby.
hi Ruby
Morning ruby. Hope the sun is shining for you.
Good morning, ruby. I wonder if French crows dip their baguettes in water?
LOL
Or should it be baguettes in eau de bain?
hi all!! raining cats and dogs here, and up north of us had a tornado rip through the town...very unusual for us here in OZ
silly, they dip them in their coffee :)
Hello, dizgrannie.
I think a crow is un corbeau, isn't it? *shows off schoolgirl Frencg*
hi haz
OK must love and leave and go do errands, back in about an hour.
I think you're right, hydra.
Scary, diz! We've got gorgeous summer weather. But you know the UK. It won't last!
See you FM.
Bye FM, don't move too fast and see you later.
Morning all. Oh, I so much want to enter "wimple"!
Haz, interested to see you're doing a moonlight walk for cancer. Good for you! I'm training to run a marathon (ulp) for the same reason
hi Sally & DizG & NB
It is cold and nasty here and the heron has taken half of the remaining 20 or 30 fish and my husband is going crazy. The heron-protector company won't deliver outside of England, so my husband is standing outside with a rifle. He'll get us deported yet!
Good morning, Sally and Nancy Boy.
That's amazing, Nancy.
I'm jumping in for a couple of minutes, but will have more time after lunch.
which? Husband with the rifle or the rest or the cold weather?
ruby, we've had to net the pond because of the herons. I suppose you have large area of water, so that would be impossible. What a problem!
Only if I manage it Hydra ;)
lol at husband with rifle, though no laughing matter in England at the moment. ruby, we went to a water garden place the other day, and they have loads of fish. Round all their ponds they have two unobtrusive wires, I would say about 6 inches and a foot off the ground. That is all you need to stop the heron getting in. No nets.
no, the pond isn't very big but there were more than 300 fish - not koi, just goldfish grown big after 8 yrs (and their babies). I'm surprised the heron can still fly.
the problem is that the dogs drink from the pond!
Well if the lowest wire is about 6 inches up, the dogs might be able to reach underneath. Otherwise, give them somewhere else to drink from!
That is so sad. We have found some netting with large enough holes so that dragonflies can get in and out. Yes, our cat and next door's drink from it but we have left a small area at the end that they can reach. I also decant pond water into a dish for them.
guns are no joke here, either, plus herons are protects
pond water in a dish! I love that. They both drink from the pond and dopey me is always washing out their water bowls.....
protected*
My feeling is that wild life is just that, you can't just kill it because it does something you don't like, you have to protect your own stock from the wild life.
I agree completely, Sally, and the heron is magnificent
We had a day-time fox take two of our rare-breed hens. I am not going to go shooting the fox. We have put an electric netting fence up instead.
We also keep a bucket full of pond and rain water for the foxes! We're animal-daft. We had a muntjac deer in the garden the other day. Ours are overgrown goldfish, too, that have bred and bred.
Must go now. See you later. Good luck with finding a solution, ruby.
Bye hydra.
Really, really, I would suggest putting up a wire (2) round the pond. That is the simplest, cheapest solution.
And you could probably have it done today!
Meanwhile, if someone is coming over, ask them if they could bring them some of those floating net things with them. I would not think they were too heavy.
I'm going to suggest the wire, leaving a space where the dogs normally drink. He is so angry at the moment, that he might use the rifle on me! I don't think I'm a protected species
Tell him no-one will mix him a martini in jail!
hahah
Fishing wire wrapped round canes and running round the pool edge set about 12 to15cm from the ground is the first plan of defence (from a web site and plagiarised shamelessly here).
I just suggested that to my husband and he said "I'm not doing that. I've already rejected that idea. If you want to do it, do it!" I siad "You're the one who's upset about the fish" He said "I'm not upset about anything!"
Anybody want an extra husband, cheap?
Why is he so against it?
Where we saw them they were very discreet, because of the planting all around.
Look on the bright side. He's given you permission to do it. Buy the materials, start doing it and hopefully he'll take over and finish the job.
can't imagine, but he makes me upset when I try to help him and he's so nasty!
Tell him he needs to calm done before he has another heart attack. Then get your garden helper to come over and do it
The ones we saw were actually on neat little plastic spikes with loops in, obviously made for the job, but canes are a quick fix.
done = down
Brilliant lynxxx
that lynxx is so smart!
I tried this recipe today. Very nice chocolate cake, good texture, very rich but not sweet (courtesy of kje). If you can't find root beer, substitute sarsaparilla. http://gastronomyblog.com/2009/02/09/r oot-beer-bundt-cake/
Rich chocolate cake - is it low calorie by any chance or is that a case of the most wishful thinking you can imagine?
now off to prepare garlic mushroom pasta bake BBS
lol haz
Sooo not low calorie
Darn.
mmm, garlic muxhroom pasta ... dribbles
I suppose if you left off the frosting (as I did) there would be slightly less calories
Frosting makes things pretty, though... I want to have my cake with frosting, eat it and not consume more than 2 calories.
Okay, I'd better take a break to get some chores done. I'll be back later - bye for now!
ttfn haz
and I'd better be off (just to interrupt my silence) to do this paperwork. be good everyone!
Nice English spellings in the grid today :-)
Twins pitcher Kevin sl4/8ey is almost in the grid. He's a better pitcher than his name would suggest.
You realise that you are talking in a foreign language as far as I'm concerned :-)
A pitcher is the American equivalent of a cricket bowler. I was wondering if they measure the velocity of cricket bowlers
Yes they do, Douglas
Pass :-)
Some of the top bowlers in the world can bowl at 90-95 miles an hour
A baseball seems to lose about 10 mph in the 50 feet between the pitcher's hand and home plate.
So the speed at which a cricket ball is hurtling towards you means you have only a split second to react
3 pitchers in 2009 threw 102.something mph. Is that 90-95 measured at the point of release, or measured at the wicket?
point of release i think
this is making my eyes blur more than the paperwork ;)
You know where this is going, movieman. Please tell me the fastest bowler of all time
Shoaib Ahktar of Pakistan holds the current speed gun record
100.2 mph
I noticed a YouTube video for Shoiab Ahktar
how many today please
273 words
273
TY both
While Ahktar holds the record, are there not some unofficial claims of even better?
The reason I ask is because Nolan Ryan is estimated to have thrown a pitch at 108 mph
Well, some claim that Dennis Lillie and Jeff Thomson of Australia were faster
A claim that Nolan Ryan threw a 108 mph pitch, while mind-boggling, is not entirely outside the realm of possibility. Nolan Ryan was something of a outlier in many categories
This is an interesting chat, Douglas, but lunchtime beckons over here, so BBL
Bon appetit, movieman
Now, where was I? Oh, yes, the grid!
People say that I'm no good, and crazy as a ****, 'Cause I get stoned in the mornin', I get drunk in the afternoon
Didn't mean to run you off, Nancy
I need help with the upper right o....
you have to consider all the op6/21 and plural, Michelle
Thank you! Thank you!
:-)
Afternoon Sally
Hi FM.
How are you today?
I'm pretty good, but trying to summon the energy to go and make bread.
How's your lovely garden?
I have done my errands for the day and do not plan to do anything much until it cools down a tad.
It is coming along nicely, still have a bit of planting to do.
Having been delighted to find some nice English spelling in this grid, just realised I have missed a really obvious US one (pl 4/9)
I am saving the grid for after lunch.
good morning everyone:)
Such restraint!
(((crossy)))!
Hi crossy, how is the bacon-free life going?
((FM))
crossy, have you heard that Haz is doing a 10mile moonlight walk for Cancer?
Morning Babblers

Hi Douglas
hi Douglas
douglas, there is bacon everywhere but here at the moment;(
all this talk of food is making me hungry - I shall away to steam some asparagus so it can cool down and go with the parma ham.
yummo
and then there is cheese and onion bread and olives - everyone is welcome.
Do you normally go to all that effort just for yourself FM? Just envious, looking at my likely piece of cheese and an apple.
yes I do Sally - love to cook or just plate up great ingredients.
Needed a few whacks with the morewords stick to get to nbt, but here I am!
Oh strawberries and cream for pud *grin*

FM certainly puts me to shame, I am hopeless if it is just me
My local grocery is selling rotisserie turkey breasts for about 4 euros. I bought two, ate one of them last night, fell into a tryptophan coma, which is why I'm up at this (unusual for me) hour

hi and bye ruby, must go and start bread but will be back in about 20 minutes. have 169. 104 to find.
you'll find them, I'm sure, Sally. There is a trick, I think only in the US. Buy Wolford (or something) frozen bread dough. Thaw it, Stretch out and make into braids, sprinkle with olive oil and sea salt, let rise again. And accept all the complement for home-baked bread!
I had a great rep as being a bread-baker!

morning NB
(and canadians too, of course)
good afternoon Nancy Boy
hello NB
hello NB.
morning ladies. good weather in the states? it's beautiful here
nice here, going to be a thundery day though.
I LIKE this grid.
hello again, back from trying to help DH solve his fishpond problem! That breakfast sounds divine!
hi, Ruby :)
hi NB
wife am i like to go on these "serenity drives" in the hills near here and what i do is randomly take narrow dirt roads at will, without thought to direction of if i actually know where i am going.anyways i hit this one narrow road with the wuaint name of "old mail road" and it had signs saying it was not serviced or maintained by the county and to use at own risk..so of course i had to go there!.after bouncing along and brushing up against a great many trees we came to this tight left turn that was slightly elevated over the next rise so i had to take it real slow so as not to go off the road.looking to my left the road bank fell away into a deep vally and it was choked thick with trees and i could see the roof lines of three old buildings peeking out of the top of the canopy.we parked the car right in the centre of the road as there was no edge anyways and wife and i slid down the side of the embankment and under the tree canopy and what we found was an entire turn of the century grist mill and river complete with a water wheel! i took some pics of one of the outbuilding, the boards all warped and black with age but still whole and upright, but it had a tree growing right up through the roof!.we also got a few pics of the water wheel, whick was frozen still on this big iron shaft but the stream still burbled around it.lasly,as i was in a hurry to get back to our car, which was blocking the entire goatpath of a road,i tried to gain entry into the main mill building, but it was so choked with underbrush and trees,i had to satisfy myself with a few picks of the windowless facade with great bunches of wild flowers boiling up in front of the window and empty doorframe...ill make a photo bucket collection when i can..was quite nice under there with the sum dappling the ground when it finds chinks in the canopy and all those old buildings perfectly preserved and full of secrets...;)))\
sorry for the length
well as I say Crossy, where I live, you get a great view of the pavements ;)
*POUNCES* mornin nb!
That sounds so nice Crossy, but I'm waiting for the part where the deranged killer jumps out of the water mill and chases you!
lovely, crossy
loot
Wow crossy, snakes ?????
oops - forgot which box - off to the PB for me...
morrrning Eva! Although of course it isn't morning here - I don't get up in the morning. How gauche ;)
no,lol,no killers, just a nice place to soak up history, take some amazing pictures and unwind
crossy, sounds like the beginning of a good mystery
LOL Pinny, you and I both!
sounds like fun though!
and no snakes that i could see
phantom:isotope
Great minds, NB :)
and the big snake wrapped around the shaft!
breakfast. i needs it. shall i buy milk and just have cereal? or should i venture to the caf for something hot? thoughts?
I was going to say good morning but there is snake talk here - will come back later.....
My friend and I used to do a similar thing, but instead of a serenity drive, we went for scary drives, where we'd head out in the dead of night and go to a wood and get ourselves lost and then discuss our favourite horror films while trying to find our way back home!
nono
lol,we have garter snakes, milk snakes and a few others.all harmless
it was just me, kidding
it was just me, kidding
it was just me, kidding
come back
lol gm Momneeds
only kidding - how is everyone today
there is an echo in the house
my husband got his rifle out and was ready to shoot the heron this AM but he got so mad at me, I thought I might be next. Aside from that, everything is grand LOL
snakes are cuuute! hmm, Eva. Can I interest you in my breakfast - a cup of tea and a wistful thought of a cigarette?
howdy mnh
good morning. lovely pr*** crossy
looking back on the chog - what an incredible adventure
so Pinny, which is you favorite horror film?
Crossy in my book no snake is harmless they all scare the carp out of me
me too Nono
i am happy to share some tea, but dont even *THINK* of the ciggies! :P
Ooh... So hard to choose, but I do have a soft spot for the Blair Witch Project
ewww, saw a show about snake hunters recently, creepy rattlesnakes
no smoke NB - you can do this...
Big fan of Paranormal Activity too. And obviously The Shining.
Sea, I would have very quickly turned that show off!
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Blair Witch, think that was filmed near me
I'm trying Eva ;) I'm running a marathon fairly soon (or attempting to) so even the thought of them is dangerous enough!
nb,with smokes, the body cravings are done in a month or so,it,s the mind cravings..i was basically in the clear with that after 2 years or so
uh oh, SeaSpray. Don't take the trash out at night....
oooh Pinny, I LOVED The Shining! One of my favourite films ever...just so scary
not that close ruby
{{Momn}} good morning
I went to the woods it was filmed in - camped out there - so scary! Texas Chainsaw was good, but a bit too much of the 'don't go that way! don't take your top off! oh, she went that way AND took her top off!' pastiche for me
{{Ruby}} hello
Good morning to both Moms ;)
Good Morning ((Mom))
methinks im going to hit up the caf -- i will bring you back some fruit. ;) back soon -- dont go anywhere!
NB - we need to hang out sometime and watch some movies and NOT smoke!
hi MOM; hello and lol pinny. I find myself yelling at the TV "Don't go in there" Turn on the light!"
brave pinny! I could not camp in those woods!
some would say I'm fruity enough already ;) but enjoy, Eva!
Hi Good
I do the same Ruby - my poor TV takes alot of verbal abuse
I KNOW! Why do they never turn on the lights!?!
when my kids were small, they would hold books in front of their faces when the scarey parts came on lol
NB - I have been told that citrus helps with the cravings - havent tried it myself but who knows
they go in with little flashlights duh!
Definitely, Pinny! Although I have never watched Blair Witch Project, because I know I'll either be very disappointed, or psychologically damaged by the amount of fear inflicted on my poor adolescent soul.
My last housemate used to hide behind a cushion - I had to laugh at him
I only do that with the CSI shows when they're showing wo****
and ma****s
I have it on dvd, NB, so let me know if you ever feel brave enough
Is Red still here lurking somewhere
she was here a minute ago
citrus, eh? because of not smoking, I have chomped my way through my nails. *sigh*
been looking for her all week - keep missing
I have no nails left - hair is thinner - waist is larger but my lungs are clear - one thing at a time
have to go, see you later ((hugs))
see you later ((Ruby))
bye ruby
and keep spite in mind!! nasty nel
bye seaspray
bye ruby
lol ruby
bye no no!
Oh NancyBoy **paints nails with merthiolate**
and no talking about hair!
{{Ruby}} bye bye
I'm hoping that quitting will increase my appetite. I don't think fingernails are all that nutritious ;)
*paints nails with very expensive OPI nail polish*
or filling
OPI is nice
what is OPI?
love the OPI names
very nice brand of nail polish - most salons use it
it's a very nice, but very expensive nail polish brand
havent bought any for a while but is was about $9 a bottle but lasts a long time
it's £10 a bottle here
all salon products are expensive but worth it I think
wow Momn, that is pricey. Glad I don't use polish. Except clear when going out
It tends not to chip for about a week though, so it's good quality
I need to get to work now - have fun all - happy babbling
I'd agree with you there, Momn. Because we're worth it ;) *flips hair*
I recently found a Sally Hansen polish that works quite well too, its called complete salon manicure
I have to dash too, but I'll be back later for more!
absolutely - my husband cringes when I buy my hair products but - so I spend $16 a bottle but it will last 6 months.
I'm running now - *poof*
bye bye Pinny and Momn
ok, NB -- banana or apple? take your pick. :)
I do too Momneeds, same way with makeup, etc.
I always find salon products take advantage of people with limp hair, fine hair etc. Stuff to remedy that is sooo expensive!
LOL Eva. I'll take the apple, ta ;)
I have fine hair NB and use a volumizer, works great
and to think i pegged you for more of a banana kinda guy. ;)
I have difficulty maintaining my dignity when eating bananas, Eva ;)
as do i...hehe
I can't get the volume OUT of my hair. I woke up this morning looking like Marge Simpson.
ahh, a problem i wish i had just once. my hair lays flat as a pancake.
Just starting..feels like a big grid?
273 words Grant and hello
seaspray envision NB with Marge Simpson do...lol
it's probably easier for boys. I've been known to favour the dragged-through-a-hedge-backwards look.
Hello and TY Mom
a straightener will fix that NB
there is a 10 letter word today
arising from a shorter word as usual?
not that I have found ... th 10/84
nahhh Lynx, my hair is pretty naturally straight. Obviously, nobody ever wants what they have, so the bombhead scenario actually jazzes it up a bit. Or so I like to believe..
its a th10 and does not work off any other words
i always wanted curly blond hair when i was little. quite the opposite from the stick-straight dark hair i have.
NB mine is straight too - and lots of it (used to always have it thinned out) Never dreamed of using a straightener but it really works and takes out the volume
Eva my hair was very blond as a child but very straight!
Mom would put it in curls and within minutes it would be straight again
first four letters of President Roosevelt + Biblical book Duetero***y + 3 letter plural
not the best clue, Lynxxx was much better earlier on but hope it works
nobody is ever happy with what they have, I suppose!
good enough for me Mom. got it thanx
excellent Grant!
my hair looks SO much nicer now that i have decided to work with it, instead of against it. since it is so straight, it looks much nicer shorter -- and i have had it very short!
9:00, time to start my day. {{Hugs}} to all of you.
do you ever curl yours, Eva? I curl mine. so much fun ;)
will not try to define it though
:-) me either Grant
bye Mom, need to go scrub the pool ladder, bbl
bye bye Sea. Trade you the kitchen for the pool ladder :)
i do sometimes. my hair doesnt cold curl very well unless i use rollers (which i dont own) so really i just get a sort of wavy look. i went out + bought myself a 3-barrel crimper so i can get that wavy look easier. :)
I'll trade my kitchen for your pool, full stop ;)
I used to have to bully my hair into it, but then I cut it short and realised that it worked a lot better without all that weight dragging the curls down. D'oh. And I'm sure nothing is worth the discomfort of sleeping with rollers in! Ow.
whenever i have my pinup photos done, they use hot rollers and my hair stays curly all day!
but stylists, in my experience, might as well be magicians ;)
i heart my stylist. s'why i travel an hour there and an hour back just to go to her! i have followed her around to different salons and to her house. she works wonders. :)
that's good - once you find a stylist who does what you want, NEVER let him or her go!!
she knows my hair and my face and if i ask her for something, she will outright tell me NO if she knows it hair wont work that way or if it wont look right with my face shape. or she will tweak it to make it work for me.
see, I go from salon to salon on the basis of how good the head massage is ;) sounds like a great relationship though!
i love dottie. shes like a second mom...with a potty-mouth. ;)
LOL!! and eww...was looking for pictures of my morning hair, just to compare. scary!
just popped into your flickr as well...your hair is SO glossy and shiny!
thanky. :)
i have actually had people ask me what i use, and the honest truth is i use whatever shampoo/conditioner is on sale, and i rarely put anything in my hair other than that. occasionally some mousse, sometimes some heat-protectant and sometimes a quick spray. i think it is so shiny because i flat-iron it...
hello...is there a list somewhere?
it may not be products...just that your hair is really healthy. I just wanna touch it now ;)
im not sure, phae, since i dont use it... :/
hi Phaeton - on Gremlinn's profile
feel free! heh. i think coloring my hair once in a while actually helps it look shinier + healthier too. it helps build up the strength of my hair...
ohh, you colour it? what colour are you naturally? If I want a different colour I have to bleach the very soul out of mine, so I tend to keep it black ;)
phaeton there is a list on gremlinn's profile
oh, mine naturally is very dark brown. most of what you see is natural, as i havent highlighted/colored it for several months. there is some leftover red in there, though my hair naturally looks reddish in the sun anyway. good ol dottie + i are in the midst of planning my next coloring session -- gonna lighten it a tad and do a nice, deep auburn just in time for the wedding. :)
sounds gorgeous! I think I might have seen some pictures of you as a redhead...definitely suits! I don't think I've coloured my hair since high school. And even then I only did it because it was against the rules!
i have done the redhead thing several times. i love it red, and chris LOVES redheads, so i think auburn will be perfect for the wedding -- not *too* far from natural for me, but extra red for him. ;)
you can also see a few photos in my flickr of where my hair is curly/wavy :)
I love redheads...it's a personality thing. You'll never meet a boring redhead! I think you can tell a lot about people by their hair colour and style...I might be losing it though
sorry...got called away and missed the answer to a list?
way back in my flickr (before any outfit photos) there is a photo of my a few years ago when i went light red -- almost strawberry blond. i actually liked the color, but it was MURDER on my hair. i had to bleach it every month. after a while, it just started breaking and falling out in clumps. needless to say, i quickly decided that darker = better for me.
In gremlinn's profile, phaeton, there is a list.
ty Haz
mornin haz!
oh yeah!! that is the problem I would have if I dyed. Bleach is a silent killer *sighs* I might still have one or two photos of me with brown hair though. Thrilling, I know ;) I just lightened it very gradually and blamed it on the sun...in winter ;)
Hello! I'm back to try to drag some more words out of this grid.
words? grid? *looks around* oh, hey! look NB -- theres a grid over there!! ;)
hi Haz
Hello, Nono, how are you doing?
LOL! I had the grid covered up by another window full of all my photos, looking for pictures with lighter hair. I'm too vain for word games...
i'm doing ok Haz, thanks for asking
That's good. I was sorry about your husband, I hope you keep doing ok.
thanks, for now I am keeping busy sorting thru all the things that need to be done such as insurance, bank accounts etc
Yes, there's always paperwork etc to go through and that keeps you distracted for a while. Adjusting to a different life takes time. Look after yourself.
You have children - the grown-up variety, don't you?
I will. Intend to take care of some problems that I have been putting off
yes 2 sons, one of whom lives with me
That's good, I'm sure they've been helpful through all of this.
yes they have been most helpful
Good, and I'm glad you can visit us here as well.
ehllo all. nono, i am sorry for your loss.
so am I Haz, altho computer problems limited my chatting the last couple of days
Hello TO. You're in the grid today (T Owl)
so i am!
hi TO and thank you
You'll never catch up with peri, though. She holds the world record for the babbler most featured in a grid.
thats true, haz. shes in there again today!
I know, she must be in cahoots with Dr-G.
yes, she is quite the attention seeker
i need some music to listen to. anyone have any suggestions for today?
gorillas?
What sort of mood are you in or what mood do you want to be in?
or spoon? i am liking that at the moment
ohh, have you heard the new album yet, Temple? I keep meaning to
im in a sleepy, wanna-go-home mood, but i wanna be in a happy, dont-mind-being-here-for-a-few-more-ho urs mood. :)
which one?
any particular songs you suggest, TO?
mystery zone
my fave sunner song - dancing days by led zep
listening to "life less ordinary" by carbon leaf at the moment. this one always puts me in a happy mood. :)
ohh, there is something sooo summery about led zeppelin...I find, anyway.
yes! we had them at fest, love them
how about some phoenix, evaN?
nb there is buzz here about mumford and sons from london.i find them folky
I have my festival tickets at the ready for this summer. bring it on!
i do like phoenix. might hafta queue up some "1901" or "lizstomania"
that whole cd is good, surprised me
ohhh, not my cuppa tea Temple - they are quite folky and it's all alright until you realise the singer can't, um, sing ;) plus, they're only beaten by Emerson, Lake and Palmer in terms of bands-that-sound-like-law-firms.
i am just scapped up a load of 80s stuff at a yard sale, loving tears for fears greatest hits and pet shop boys dicography and prince
snap Temple :) I'm loving the 80s recently - New Order and Depeche Mode...can't get enough!
harkens back to what you were doing at the time - lots of dancing nights out then
lots of waiting to be born, for me...;)
dear fiance is quickly tired by my addicted to the all 80s and 90s stations and the hair metal station in my car. :)
my only ever wanted to listen to oldies. hated them
oh, dear TO -- we forget how young he is! *facepalm, feeling ancient*
i refuse to be age appropriate.
lol!! C'monnn, I'm 20 soon. I'm a bit freaked out about that!
the 80,s is the nuclear wasteland of misic but the wife loves it,crossy on the other hand loves 60,s and 70,s tunes, cream, the byrds, elo, bto, csny, eagles, supertramp,f loyd of course, santana, clapton and on it goes;))
NB, over here, 21 is the big birthday. cant legally drink til then!
20,omg,we do forget nb,i have scars that are 20 lol
as do i, which exlplains my love of indie rock. but i refuse to be fixed in time
I love lots of 70s too...and 80s...and 90s...it's the noughties letting me down!
80s was good for dancing an partying
there were a few hidden gems of actual good songs in the 80s. but yes, most of it i enjoy for its mindlessness and just pure happiness!
exactly
i am putting together a "big e6ies cd
can't legally drink until 21?! but that's not strict, right??
LOL, Crossy. I turned 18 and then got stuck there..
well there is a bit of lattitude;0
hey haz, i see you have given spangle a rest icon wi4
life was simpler when I was 18 ;)
seems like you have been 19 forever nb..it,s been a wild year:)
I have indeed. She's not miffed, honestly, she's not.
depends, NB. most bars card left and right. but most people turn the other way at homes and parties. ;) and with a fake ID, most dont care.
yeah, make no mistake about that, Crossy :) maybe you're right...I should probably be happy this year is coming to an end! Got a lot of stuff to put well and truly behind me
ok folks, i only signed on to check breakfast hours now must get moving if i want to go. happy babbling.
bye TO have a great day
Bye, TO.
oh b4 i go, evan - i saw matisyahu last week, reggae is alwyas nice for summer fun
hah! 21 though, eh...I got my first fake ID when I was 14. To this day I can't believe it worked.
and also liking train's "soul sister". very bouncy fun
bye non o and haz catch up with you via email
hi all
so how many words today
hi TO I have been missing you lately
273 words
273.
Hello jmc.
tks
Bye TO - look forward to it.
that would be because i am not here. later, je
ooh, i do like matisyahu...
he was awesome and so close, small tent outdoors
just queued up "drown in the now" -- chemical brothers, featuring matisyahu
he came down into the crowd and took the barriers in front of the stage down so the crowd could surge
I completely missed the 80s in music -- to busy being a no so young mother and a deaf husband
actually evaN, there is a convention in town for non commerical rradio with a host of stars, tune into NPR at noon today
for concert
ooh, who is playing?
martin sexton, eli paperboy reed. also there are archives for good listening
sounds great Temple...there is a thin line between being safe at gigs and being over-cautious. I have come out of some with some serious battle scars, but that just means I enjoyed it ;)
and if you like carbonb lef how about kean's new song with k'naan?
dont know that one. i have been sadly out of the new-music loop, since i never drive anywhere. i have been relying on friends to say "hey, i think youll like this..."
if you can get the worton station tune in around 3 today to hear them live
i meant 2
LOL my bad typing looks like "carbomb" i KNOW you like those evan ;)
Hi all, back. Bread is baked so hopefully I can finish now :-)
Hello, Sally.
oooh, nothing better than freshly baked bread, Sally!
hi sally
Too hot to eat yet, NB!
Mmm, dip it in some olive oil and balsamic vinegar later...
when I talk like this, I always wish I wouldn't use up all my carbs on alcohol. it's good wine weather, though.
Just sat by our pond for a late snack lunch in the sun :-)
No herons?
No fish! The wild ducks come occasionally for a lazy breakfast on newts and tadpoles but we usually look fiercely at them and they go away.
Poor quackers.
We tell them jokes and they quack up.
You can't keep a duck down for long.
Not in this weather "-)
Funny how neist is allowed, but not neism.
I know, I tried it without success as well.
Greetings Babblers. Is there a list posted somewhere?
Hello, SMD. Yes, gremlinn has a list posted in his profile.
Gremlinn's profile

Back shortly.
hey
Fireworks. Any clues needed?
Congratulations, Sally.
helloooooo :)
Hellooooo!
Oh, hi Ata! Just off :-)
I hope you're pleased with your justgiving page!!
hi sally!
*Gone*
Oh, I am, I am! I'm delighted.
Bye Sally!

And how are you today, Ata? And Hobbitella?
really really happy. just had a few hours on the beach for the first time in forever
Oh good, I'm sure you both enjoyed that so much.
so so SO much!
it's been the first day I've felt almost "normal"
Good - things will get better from now on.
I hope so :)
Is it very hot with you?
yes! well, it's really hot but there;s a gorgeous breeze luckily
We have the breeze as well which makes things altogether more civilised.
yes, it's just gorgeous. We were paddling in the rockpools ad ythe water was positive warm
FM was wearing shorts the other day.
I'm wearing shorts today!
Flesh exposed all over England!
there were people SWIMMING in BIKINIS!!
Ought that to be allowed? Surely there must be some law?
you'd hope so
If there's not, there should be.
Aha! The man has arrived to fit some blinds. I'd better let him in and get Spangle turfed out of his way. Bye!
really! loads of dogs down there too, splashing around chaotically
bye dear!
hello, everyone
Good morning, fellow babblers.
morning - back for my last 20, trying to go commando today
not literally, i hope, joshua
hi judi, gg, josh
*covers eyes* Josh!
somehow i knew that characterization would raise some eyebrowz
i'm just trying to get nbt today. i'm hopeless without lickety
No Lickety. Worse than no boxer shorts.

ty pinny

oops that should be ****logy + eco******
ty, josh. i now that i wouln't have found that without help
*smacks forehead* Ty for the 10. At first I thougth it would end in "ism".
i was looking for something beginning theor
yeah so was i until i realized you could use the upper o to get into that corner
<< ismed myself to death on that one
6 left
you can get so stuck on only going in one direction. the ending of the 110 immediatedly gave me two more words i hadn't seen
102 left!

congratulations, josh. you go and enjoy yourself
iw4 babblet
that's the shakespeare word that looks like a bird name
the bottom i, that is.
ty ty . NBT, also half way.
lol! thanks mummy ;) I'm training up for a marathon (ulp) so need the practise!
WOW. good for you, Nancy Boy! *proud mama look* did you stretch when you were done? gently...
did anyone post clues??
mi
haven't checked yet -- usually someone does on babanon
thanks, Stid :D well, I'm kind of scared, but it's for charity, so...why not!
gremlinn usually does. haven't checked yet.
when is the actual event?
gremlinn always posts a list in his profile sammy
hey FM! ((hugs))
oh, at the end of July, so still got a bit longer to train up!
((stiddy))) hope you are feeling a little better hun.
good. have you run distance before? I know there are tricks to be sure you build up and don't overdo in the training. I am a sprinter myself (or was when I was your age) so don't know a lot about distance training.
(if I manage to do it, you will hear about it again at the end of July...if I don't manage to do it, you will never hear about it from me again ;))
I am a little better. Still stuck in bed, FM, but at least no fever today.
you are to be aplauded NB!
or laughed at, FM ;)
*plants a smooch on NBs cheek*
ohhh Stid, I didn't know you were sick! Hope you feel better soon :(
*stern mama look* I expect if this one doesn't work out the way you hope that you will try again! *puts mama foot down* or go with more manageable and reasonable distances.
hey EvaN
Nope - aplauded - for every mile you make. Doesn't matter.
thanks Nancy Boy -- I am on the mend now.
hiya stiddy. :)
Eva, you're still around! :) I will enter that marathon a boy and leave it a man ;)
Hi EvaN!
ha. NBT!
will you have to change you name then? *considers how "Nancy Man" will look in chog*
Awww, thanks FM :) got lots of practising to do though!
my husbands aunts maiden name was Nancy Mann lol
rofl Sea!
LOL!
LOL Stid! doesn't QUITE have the same ring to it, really...
Sea!! that's so funny
i keep wanting to try to get into running. i have just never been very good at it. :/
first thing that popped into my head lol
I don't 'do' running, but I can can walk very fast :)
I view sports the same way I view music, but from the opposite angle. If no one spectated, then for whom would the runners perform?
do you get bored, Eva? I tend to let my mind wander, so...I have to be careful or else I run into things.
oh good point stiddy!
LOL Stid and FM! Well, in regards to this marathon, I share sentiments with Eddie Izzard..."I've run before, but mainly for buses."
afternoon everyone
lol NB my daughter is like that and I nicknamed her Grace
Good heavens, a lady never runs for a bus!
hey Katie! (((hugs))) how are you today?
I have clumsiness down to a fine art, Sea ;)
Hi Katie
Well FM, I ain't no lady ;)
*grin*
i tend to go on thinking "im hot, im sweaty, im tired, am i done yet??" over and over again...
that's for sure, Nancy boy
she is terrible in heels, can you imagine what will happen when she gets married in an outdoor ceremony?
Hi Katie, did you have a great birdhay?
Make her practice - in those heels!
*birthday even ....
LOL Eva! I just stick my ipod in and try to think about that
is she old enough for that Sea? marriage?
I was so afraid she would fall when she went through her graduation ceremonies?
oh dear Sea! I'd be tempted to make that dress so long, nobody would see my feet...then wear whatever shoes I pleased ;)
she will be almost 25 stid when she marries
i will also be braving the "wearing heels for an outdoor ceremony" fun times.
I was thinking the same thing, Nancy Boy. White converse high tops under a lovely long gown. safe, practical and fun.
you strike me as a very poised individual, Eva...sure you will be absolutely fine ;)
i tried to talk her into ballet shoes
gee whiz. had no idea she was that old, sea!
sorry Mari phoned, I had a lovely birthday thanks FM
and I am sure you EvaN and Seas daughter will both look stunning on your speical days :)
Is that your gown in the icon, EvaN?
yes she is stid, graduated college a year ago, BSN my son will be 31 this month...I am getting up there
I don't get the heels thing... why not just be the height you are?
because her fiance is 6 foot 4
I guess I thought her graduation last year was high school -- I get a little befuddled these days.
Sometimes heels add a touch of elegance.
quite, Stid! if anyone would need heels for a wedding, it'd be me.
she is 5 foot 3
I nearly broke my neck in my shoes at a recent wedding, changed into my flats not long after the service as they were making me miserable
ROFL... too funny! well if he walks on his knees...
Leo and I have a height difference of over a foot, can you believe it? I'm tiny and he's basically a giant ;)
I was going for the elegance thing but lost it by constantly stumbling
Mind you seeing as I am 6' I don't wear heels these days but did when younger (4" ones)
I dated a man once who was that much taller than me sea. I could walk under his arms when he held them out!
brb - going to jump into the shower
yes, stid, that is my dress (before alterations)
lol stid
*gasp* you're THAT tall, FM? *sits down* WOW.
wow FM
good idea Nancy Boy, even I -- stuffy nose and 6000 miles away -- think that's a good idea!
yup I am stiddy
I like the way the train drapes in the back.
i do too -- i feel in LOVE with that. :)
My ex husband was 6'7 and my dear departed was 5'6"
I used to dream of making it to 5'6... but at 5' 3 1/2... *sigh* not sure what I will do when my nearly 6 foot son moves out in a few years.
5' 11" here
of course, except for being sure cars and furniture fit, height is really an illusion. we are all the same size inside.
yay KAtie!!!
oh eva, such an exciting time. such an exciting stressful time :)
hey God!
Just make sure you take time to enjoy it Eva
going to find something to eat...bbl
later Sea
we eloped... it was a good decision. much less stressful. :-D a bit too late for that now, right EvaN?
you eloped stiddy??
yep. went to the courthouse Friday after work.
you dark horse you!
heh, yes, a little late for that. ;) i am enjoying it, but yes, it is stressful at the same time. i am looking forward to the wedding day, with all of our friends and family around us. thats the day i will be sure to take time to enjoy. :)
Monday showed up with a new last name. No one (but the boss who I told because I wanted to add Tom to my insurance) knew
it was fun to see their faces! LOL
how great!
What did Stidgmere say
my friend did that stid, got home and then phoned everyone, just what they both wanted
it worked. a year later, Mother threw a big party for us. That was nice.
ae ((()))
LOL Mother wasn't too surprised I think. Turns out her mother, and her grandmother did similar things.
off to buy gas for the bbq (oh joy) see you all later
Bye Katie.
later Katie! have a great weekend
Nooo really - how interesting stiddy!
and actually she did, too, now that I think of it...
LOL!!!
yep. a family of renegades.
phone brb.
back - I'll have you know that my sweat smells sweet as a summer's day, Stid!! ;)
bah. no man's sweat smells like that, Nancy Boy. *stern mama look* I have WAY too much experience in life to belief that!
oops. *heads to PB*
I am no ordinary man ;)
oh. past halfway! time for me to lie down for a while. see you-all again soon. Enjoy yourself, EvaN. Can hardly wait to see pics of you in that lovely gown.
yep, she will be one gorgeous bride :) see you, Stid!
take good care, Nancy Boy. *poof*
hello...clue for the in6, please?
eo 6/21 that isn't the ism word?

lol
LOL mix

that film was strange enough w/o drugs ruru!
I'll have some Pics of Dylan soon up
also I think of Holst, the planets.

neither of those helped. LOL.
mo 8 - gigantic, unitary rock
ruru!!
Off for a while so TTFN.
101 left, will have to list.
apologies for my sudden disappearance -- my computer froze!
anywho, now its meeting time!
mixi - where is the list today
flight
No Lickety List today. Grrrrr.
gremlinn has a list
sorry
How do you get to gremlinn's profile?
where is gremlinn
good morning everyone
if you go to rankings he is about 15 down on the who's hot list
anyone have the fl6/27?
Thank you.
hi nef
how is the grid today (besides huge)? And I take it that lickety doesn't have a list today?
Don't have fl6/27 yet.
Oops. Just found it. Similar to the fl7 following it. Fl7/40 is tramp, trollop, etc.
a bird takes fl****
got the fl7, thanks judi, but can't get the 6
hello?
Hi, nef. It's big and a bit tricky.
Good: just leave out the snake sounding letter in the fl7/40 and you'll have the fl6.
leave out the plural letter in the 7
drop the snake letter good
thank you thank you thank you
stuck on the li 7/28....... monkey is whipped
ends like several words in that upper left corner
to make much of someone referred to as a li4/4
Li7: king of beasts plus alternate spelling of visual organs.
well, I jumped in before you answered Judi. but thanks for the warning.
clue for the 10 plz
th+where the worlds money comes from - 2nd letter
maybe not a great clue....
Th10: first four letters of the study of religions, plus financial status of nations: eco******.
starts with mans name, ending rhymes with ec******* as in several nations ec******* are in the toilet
ty all
*sneaks in an hugs Nef, then leaves to take actual nap*
Mmmm. Nap. I wish.
So, Movieman - what flick do you recommend we see this weekend? We saw Ironman 2 last Sunday.
Shrek Forever After or Robin Hood, Judi
*nodding* Hubby wants to see Robin Hood. I think it looks like shiite. Looks like Braveheart with bows and arrows.
And Russel Crow is getting rather bloated looking.
Wish Toy Story 3-D was out.
I'm waiting for the new Predator film and the A-Team
I would dig Predator. No no no to the A-Team. Hated the TV series. Movie looks horrible. Can't imagine what Liam Neeson is thinking these days.
lito
Crap. Sorry about that.
Heard nothing but excellent reviews of the A-Team...looking forward to seeing that!
Predators looks especially good, with Robert Rodriuguez producing it
hello all
Hiya, Peri!
Nef, how ar things with your DH. did you get to speak with a social worker or case manager
it all rigth Judi, just give us one that works!
I'm missing two i's. I have in4 x 2, io6/18 and it5/12. What am I missing?
button, just add a lisp sound to the end of judi's word, then take off the last letter and you get two words
how many words today, folks?
in6/18 & io4/4 judi
Just looking at your box of kittens, Ormal. Adorable.
the top o for nbt plz
they were my woodpile babies. I haven't been able to bring myself to go visit the vet to see if they've been adopted out yet. I'm such a baby.
Clue for other io4? I have the tiny particles.
never mind, got em
there's only one io4 judi
the io's are related: one io4/4, one io6/18
I have both of those now, Ormal. I'm still missing one i though.
the i's: in6, in4, io6, io4, it5, iw4
in6/18?
I think I need a donut.
I have in4, io4, in6/18, io6/18 and it5/12.
iw4/8
I've just listed the i's judi
Ty. Got the iw. Down to 91 and have to throw in the to5/18. No list leaves me too handicapped. Time for that donut. *POOF*
first lo 5/10 ?
gremlin has a list in his profile
LW words? Crazy people making up words while drinking great volumes of something
lol momneedshelp! I hadn't gotten that far yet, but thanks for the clues!
How is the quitting going?
I just brought up gremlins profile for a quick peek - too hard not working with lickety
still quit - 44 days now
hello again everybody

the first 100 were OK but now I'm at a total stop!
Hi Ruby

bye momneedshelp!
I have baseball tomorrow morning and softball tomorrow night - I'll try and get online Sunday
Hi all. Are there clues in BabAnon. I'm trying to download it and not having any luck
not sure, haven't tried that before, but gremlinn has the list in his profile.
ty Ormal
yw bichon. I'd be lost without them today.
hello all, I keep dropping in, saying I need to take a nap and then getting distracted. *sigh* So I will get a few more words and THEN try for a nap.
hiya stidmama...no nap yet huh? well good luck getting one. :D
hey ormal
LOL it's weird how I keep getting "one more thing" that seems to need doing.
there is always, always ONE more thing that needs doing.
true enough.
how are you doing?
I'm doing well thank you. How are you?
getting over the flu, actually (that's why I need the nap) but feeling MUCH better today
glad to hear you are feeling better, but think you may benefit from letting all those one more things go and getting that nap in.
true. I want to get down to 115 (two more words) first though.
I managed to finish yesterday, would like to come close today too!
Damn, no "gefilte."
Long board today. I've been at it off and on for hours. Want any help getting those last two in?
and that's it. down to 115.
LOL Kaplan!
see you later. ((ormal)) thanks for the talking! *poof*
It is so a word!
best wishes stid!
apparently the word filter doesn't like certain adopted foreign words?
It takes SOME foreign words. It's inconsistent.
yeah, I know it takes a bunch of Japanese words that I am not familiar with, but doesn't take many of the German words my family uses
osen
OOps- sorry
it's okay, we may be the only ones here, and I'm working on the p's now.
I need a pe 5/12 clue please ... the last one or next to the last. I have the one meaning danger.
mudd: small or short
I have 97 left...
ty so much
35 left here
58 left
I don't know how many words there are.
273 total
Just look below the grid for how many words there are
Mudd, look right beside the words tile stats (blue letters) and you'll see how many words there are today.
I think the total's only there if you go pro...
So go pro!
I'm not a member so it does not tell me how many words or how many left to find.
gilf
huh, that's neat to know. I didn't remember that.
glug glug glug
I should go pro, but not here every day and can't afford it right now. It's a pain not to know the total words.
Not a lot of money. I'm broke too.
lol kap
laughing at the koolaid not the lack of cash
fjdksla. I am just clearing my throat.
Afternoon peoples.
hi red.
Hi amelu, how goes it in the land of Oil. (sorry.)
I haven't personally been exposed to tar balls, yet, thankfully...
Good to hear. the whole thing has got me wondering how my life is going to be her ein Florida for the next ten years or so... you know?
absolutely. kinda scary.
So how many words are there in the grid today please?
273
273
you missed it when I said earlier...
273!!!
yes, ma'am.
and no lickety.
what is it that they say when it rains and the sun is out??
No Lickety? Well then, forget it!
LOL! the devil's beating his wife?
really? I thought it was a sailor is going to heaven?
gremlin has the stats posted in his profile.
I like that one better, red.
their
so sorry. not adjusting well to the night shift thing.
I'm with ya... been up since about 2:10 CDT... (not 14:10)
I got home at 3 am, went to sleep at 4, woke up at 8, went back to sleep until noon, went to the gym and now feel like I could go back to sleep, but I have to go to work...in just about 2 hours anyway. bleech.
~:-s ick-poo!
well, the up side is that at least for the moment this new job seems to be fairly easier in pt volume. for sure.
may it last at least until you adjust.
thats exactly what I was thinking. not sure this is a much smaller place, I hope it lasts forever.
amen, LOL!
I actually sat for 2 hours yesterday in tridae waiting for a person to triage, it was nuts.
oh, wow. that'd take some getting used to.
Yes, I was trying to be all helpful and clean everything. But I will always take sitting and doing nothing to trying to manage a crowd.
true that... I'd be pacing... not that it'd be bad for me, lol.
don't want to sound like a dummy, but what does triage mean, Red? :)
triage is the french word to sort, in the ED we sort people by their acuity so the person having a stroke can be seen before the person who has a sore throat...thats all.
how are you NB?
riiight, thank you :) learn something new everyday, huh! and I'm good, thanks very much :) well, I'm better than the person having the stroke. How about you?
also better than the person having a stroke, I am just trying to adjust to the Night shift...
my husband says that no matter what you go to the ER for ALWAYS say you have chest pains, you get right in :)
being in the ER GIVES me chest pains...
lol
well, thats not really true any more good, we do an ekg on you in the triage and if its ok, you get to sit, especially if you are not having a lot of risk factors.
oh, I know how tough that is! before I got properly used to my night shifts, I had to get a part-time job in the day, as well...Red Bull ought to have sponsored me!
damn, there goes that theory
also, taking n ambulance does not mean you will be seen faster, it just means you will have an ambulance bill.
hmm i think i'll just stay home next time
though, your job is obviously much more stressful than mine - must have to make some difficult choices!
the new job seems to be much much calmer than the old one. I am feeling super relaxed there, the volume is lower, BUT, this will probably change tonight now that I said it right!!!
**JINX**
Lol! you got that right ;) and I guess you can't be too squeamish..
Oh! It's quittin time!! BBL
bye good.
no no not really. I can not do much with fingernails, they creep me out.
well, here in England we have a TV programme called "Bizarre ER"...showing all the weird stuff you see in A&E. I watched it once and then never could again! Gross
I have seen some very disturbing things over the years. but Its kind of my job. I could not do your job, too much noise.
I don't find the noise too bad, but you have to be willing to hear the same songs a LOT. Actually, the worst thing about my job is the dramatic volume of quite creepy people. Like, I don't mind someone asking me for my phone number, but when they write theirs down and cram it in my back pocket...I don't like it!
Though, I guess I'd probably get less attention if I worked in a different type of establishment. Generally however, it's fun!
NB, that's not a complaint I've ever heard a man make before, but considering the nature of your job, I'd say it's probably rather obnoxious on a daily basis.
well Ormal, the way I see it, women are a civilising force. So, when you're in an environment without women, men just turn back into animals! Lots of them get very handsy, but the best thing you can do is just smile and brush it off
Wow, is yours a men's only gay club? The ones I've been in always had men and women in them. BTW, I like the word handsy. LOL
LOL, I couldn't think of any better word! Aaaand, it's not really men-only, but I'd say about 90% of the clientele is male. And believe me, that's enough!
lol, I bet it is!
hi everyone ... stuck with 103 to go but need help .... has anyone posted the clues?
OTG! *fireworks*
gremlin has a list on his profile.
well done amelu.
tyvm!
woo hoo amelu!

really missing babble expert today
planning on going to the beach tomorrow
be back - need to take son to baseball practice
smittenkitchen.com had a root beer float cupcake recipe at some point this week. I haven't tried it. But it did make me crave a nice, tall, frosted glass of root beer float.
sounds delish
if it uses a white cake mix base, my sister in law tried it and it sucks
i thought it worked off a chocolate bundt cake sort of idea.
not the same one then
but i really just skimmed it. i've been reading recipe blogs. and then not actually following through with them. it's that kind of a month already. lol.
but i would never make one that used cake mix anyway.... never as good as home made
May I please have a clue for the bottom row i please?

I'm planning a marathon for charity...wish I had a car to sell instead :P
time for a break
after a couple bottles, it gives me a headache too
I did, a 2010 Hondic Civic in a pretty shade of blue, but not periwinkle :)

LOLOLOL so do ours
rofl
78 left woo hoo
what charity are you backing NB?
thank you, Peri :) people have been sooo amazing about sponsoring me, so if I don't manage it I'll be really frustrated with myself!
why not get sponsored for covering distances then?
hello again! Nancy Boy, still here?
I've been off and on all day, Stid. I'm so restless!
hi Stid
I took a short nap earlier, but kept getting distracted by one thing and another. Down to 110 so far...
BBL
later Lynxxx!
Because I didn't think of that, Jac. :P d'oh! plus, I need a big incentive to slog through it.
NB - I find this the best distraction for not smoking - completely took my mind off of it - so it will be nice to see you more if you need it
you could be right, Mom! thank you for saying so :)
well done on stopping smoking
Im back searching for 116 words.....hello
if it wasnt for this group, I dont think I could have done it - more support here than anywhere else
hey annie!
Hi Annnie
oooh Momn--another good day...hooooray!!!!
thanks jacq - still struggling but it is getting better
hi stiddie
yes - we have doubles today at 44 days
i managed one day, then i checked the phone bill online and that was the end of that
Great!
see NB - you CAN do it too - look at the support system
and of course, if running is a goal, smoking is counterproductive anyway. right, Nancy Boy? *stern mama look*
I need a clue for that I in the righthand column, please
its youth Stid - they smoke and run, run and smoke, but he needs to just run and not smoke - he will go so far......
in + note after la
in + bottom of shoe or foot
quite - there's no way I'll be able to run that far if I don't stay smoke-free. Instead I'm sucking ice lollies like there's no tomorrow :) and running a lot, obviously, because you can't smoke whilst running ;)
think of your shoe annie
hey JBV! ((((hugs))))
hi, stid!
Thank you! JBV
Good - keep up the good work NB
hi everyone - offering whatever support I can to Mom, NB, and anyone else who needs it - we are all here for each other
thanks stid and Momn
besides, he can't visit me if he smokes... I am very allergic to tobacco residue *hoping that is more incentive*
great incentive!
on the other hand, NOT allergic to choclit (hint hint)
well, what with you guys cheering me on here, and Leo literally slapping cigarette packets out of my hands, I can't fail ;)
my favorite brand of delicate clothes wash is not accepted
go Leo go! *gives LEO a big hug*
LOL! Well then dip me in chocolate and stick me on an aeroplane - I'm a-comin', Stid!
go Leo!
and WTG mom!!! keep up the great work!
what an offer......
*grin* okie dokie! I'll be here! and Lucky will help you train! (he LOVES to run)
ah, I just found the laundry soap. didn't work for me, either
*sits in PB* HONEST! I hadn't seen that word yet!
lol! it's only because he quit several months ago - without taking champix, devouring his fingernails OR gaining a compulsive addiction to frozen treats. *mumbles* mr perfect *mumbles*
lol
ty stiddy ... needed that one
lo 7/44 that last one??
btw MomN -- I am sending you a BIG batch of virtual (guilt free) lovely swirled brownies - the kind my mother used to make that are part the sour cream and part brownie. My FAVORITES. you're doing well.
me either! greyed out that top E :)
evening all - does anyone have a list up at the mo
da** already had that one - cant figure eo's even with earlier clues
*makes room for NB in PB*
hey kazzer

...okay Stid, but make sure those cabana boys are ready. the service was VERY sloppy last time.
oh darn - I need to screw up so I can get into PB - stid always has good cholits and NB is there....

oh, right. *shakes stick at cabana boys -- shape up, you lot!*
thanx stid for the ei - he he he

lucky is voting for cabana dogs, too...
if I add cabana girls
LOL, Mom and Stid!!
th10
we still need boy dogs for my girls
*wonders if Lucky would like to be a cabana dog*
ruru - would you like cabana girls to visit you in the PB we only have boys to date
th10
hmmm shouldn't answer that
y'know, sometimes after I've done a 12-hour shift at work, and I'm walking home in the rain...I do wish the PB was a real place ;)
th = starts with a boys name (4 letters) + I hated ec*****cs in college + plural with vowel
wouldn't that be great! *inspiration hits* what about...
uh oh
LOL Mom!
A Babble theme park? We can have the cabana poolside; the Penalty Box where no treats are under 1000 calories, the climbing grid....
ty mnh
thanks Mom, tried a different version of that word
help with re7 pls
oh oh, or over 1000 for those weight conscious babblers
Count me in!
IN
hey car!!!!
Hi1
okay, *revision* the PB where no treat TASTES like it is under 1000 calories (but most are sensibly decadent)
sorry dont have it - been sitting here half hour and havent gotten one word
re7 is a plural
sorta
oh I like decadent
I have RE + TO 5/10
and there is an ice chest of Moet et Chandon!
don't forget the beverages
...in a pretty cabinet....
there must be wine

I never do, GE ;)
OH NB my favorite champagne

he has his big day this weekend
yep. BACON flavored perrier water....
wait. what big day?
y'know what, the PB should probably just come with its own wine cellar.
June 6th is crossy's day
bleurgh! keep this bacon away from me! ;)
OMG - there are 3 OO's and 3 OW's in this puzzle - yikes
good idea, Nancy Boy. We'll need a sommelier.
ohhh, fingers crossed for him, Annie!
Bday? day he can eat whatever he likes?
mom, is there a list somewhere? I think I need it
the PB is virtual so will have whatever you virtually desire - hows that!
well, "oreo" doesn't count
I think it's his first weigh-in? maybe?
list in gremlinns profiel
ok thanks
yes it is but he is allowed to have bacon once a month I think
stid, crossy has not eaten bacon in ages...he is on a diet and june 6th is the "allowed" bacon day
thanks MomN
ty for re7
70 left, resorting to morewords....
I know he is not allowed bacon. I am glad tomorrow is a day he can indulge some.
go Good go!
I have to say, I switched over to Turkey bacon a while ago and I LOVE it!
we eat turkey bacon, and turkey pastrami. And sometimes real bacon, but only rarely.
I must get some and try it.
hmm, I like the virtual desires idea, Mom. I get adoption certificates for all my babble parents ;)
Oh wait - down to 92 - took a half hour to get one word
hm. *idea* brb
though I'll try and leave those cabana boys alone.
absolutely NB
Mom will slap your hand - wants for herself
LOL! alright Mom, they're all yours ;)

not that exciting, I am afraid...
awww Stid, it's better than exciting! that's soooo cute, thank you :) :) :)
:-D Glad you like it.
how did you make it so pretty so quickly?
I took 19 years to get this pretty ;)
I used a template from Word, and just saved it as a PDF and posted it to my website...
rofl...
awww...tissues please
also. probably the strangest names EVER used on an adoption certificate ;)

*grin* true, might not be a "legal" doc!
well thank you, Stid :) that's one of the sweetest things I've ever seen!
(((Nancy Boy))) you're a good kiddo.
sure, sometimes ;) (((stid)))!
okay, that's enough mush for one day. I am going to go take another nap and try to be awake once Tom and the boys get here.
I am down to 86 words!
*leaves choclits on the sideboard for everyone and sets up incendiaries for kje's big finish*
see you-all again so4! *poof*

hello everyone -- back for the last half
hi nan
is there a clue floating around for the th 10 I couldn't find last night?
I don't have it yet, nan
hello friends! wish you could all be here with me --- I am out in the hammock, next to the stream in the side yard, happily babbling away
hi trif
* turning green *
hi trif
th10 - starts with god + french for name + plural with two vowels
*looking out at the rain*
ty, I still have quite a few to go; I'm at 206
if tertiare doesn't stop with the swinging, I am going to be green too!
* giggle *
ty kje -- never, ever would have found that one
is there a way to dumby that down, kje?
starts with latin "god" prefix
or is it greek?
(don't know french)
*** de plume
try this, pini -- huxtable boy from cosby show, what homer does to donuts, and then "for example" + s
bingo! got it! thx to nan, kje, and trif ;)
tres bien!!!
,ust run - later gators
and yes, it is greek
poof
gong backwards with the list only 41 left
173 down -- giving up and listing
okay, gotta get on the soap box for one second -- primo's ex GF has a job nannying for the summer, and get this -- the children are NOT allowed to play outside. The parents PREFER them to stay inside and only play on the Wii, as they are afraid "something may happen to them" out side. Jesus!
I need 1 more before I can open list!
(need to hit at least 1/2-way)
are you kidding, trif??????????
oooh -- no list!!!
oooh -- no list!!!
yikes, kids need fresh air and sunshine
NO LIST?????
gremlin has a list in his profile
talk about some lazy parents!
I know, right? I was sure the kids came up with this, like some plot or something, but she assured me NO, the dad left her a list of "approved activities" with NO GOING OUTSIDE underlined twice!
thx peri ;)
Tertiare knows the family, and echoed what GF said - the kids were also not allowed to have recess outside at school, and the little boy had to choose 3 friends to stay in with him each day
I think the parents need some parenting classes!
I was so disgusted
wonder what the underlying reason is for ther behavior, Trif
They are terrified the kids are going to get hurt.
Good grief ..
If I were a parent of one of the other three kids....I'd be making sure my kid wasn't "picked" to stay inside!!!
indeed. and hello tor
they kids ARE being hurt, psychologically. but i guess that doesn't matter as much as physically?
do they have the skin disease where they blister if they go outside. that is the only reason I can think of to keep kids inside when the weather is nice
She ought to push one of them down the stairs ..
the poor kids hate it. They sit with their noses pressed up against the windows, LONGING to be out there, but not allowed.
wow *hanging head in annoyance*
if the kids do have that, she has not been told. She is a student nurse, which they know, so why wouldn't they tell her?
very sad
what can some people think?
someone should tell the daily show - this would make a really good middle segment.
what do the parents do for a living?
oooh, that is a good idea! or maybe wifeswap?
i think it's a case for CPS - and i usually don't like those people, but this is torture if you ask me
I dont know
emotional abuse
exactly peri
please don't tell me they are also homeschooled
I am going to think about this some more. I only found out about it today. I think maybe a phone call *is* in order, once I have some more information
nah, then they wouldn't need a nanny.
(my comment was re: JBV's comment)
no, they go to public school, which makes me wonder if there isn't more to the story. Surely they had to give a reason why the boy couldn't go out to recess for two months?
only two months?
very troubling, trif
one of the first 2 eo 6/21's? -- have the one with ending similar to agile
i mean that not sarcastically but like, what was the deal three months ago? that sounds more like something changed... something happened.
I am not sure why the 2 months thing
does anyone know what time the scripss spelling bee is on tonight on the east coast of USA
one of the first two eo6/21's is a very disturbing phrase, as i didn't have any - now have one thanks to you, cnan
skeeters are now at pterodactyl level...have to head inside, I fear. damn
let me know if you find the other hurshy ;)
peri, i don't see it in my little onscreen guide thingy on any of the sports channels.
not getting either eo6
eo 6/21 belief in long period of time??
spelling bee is at 8:00pm ET on ESPN
good clue JBV
go JBV!
got one now! :)
ty jbv
e's done :)
hey -- maybe they are afraid of a bug thing? Lyme, equine encephalitis, and the like?
really une? mine claims it is the women's college world series.
and on ABC!
That would be valid with the bugs you have there ..
must depend on what cable system you have . . . ?
aha, there, ABC, yes
anyone got the 10?
networks can depend on your cable, but ESPN should be the same wherever.
but does it justify never letting them out?
no, it does not!
jean, it's th10/84
evening all
Not at all .. That's just helicopter parenting
it's safer to get lyme disease on the east coast than randomly elsewhere cause docs know to think of that when they are diagnosing.

ty Une, I watch it every year and am amazed at the words they are given. some I know from Babble :)
I didn't love CATS, only the one song Memory

Saw Joseph in NY with Andy Gibb, R.I.P.

and Bette Midler as one of the daughters in Fiddler in the 60's
I saw that too -- NOT a fan
with Zero Mostel
ohmygod, how fabulous!!!
WOW!
still have the Playbills
i love Fiddler . . .
me too, I never get tired of it
i have a mountain of playbills LOL
I saw it last year with Topol, who starred in the movie, on his farewell tour
i saw it with him in NYC :-)
he's my favorite
Theodore Bickel was disappointing
there are lots of shows I'd love to see over and over . . . Lion King, 42nd Street
LK was wonderful
Man of LaMancha another fave
I know! Just magical!
and Phantom
have never seen that on stage
most mindblowing drama I ever saw was back in the 80s when Ian McKellen brought Amadeus to NYC from London
saw it another time with Frank Langella but not NEARLY as good
saw that in London too
and sooooo much better than the movie
oh, yes, I saw Phantom several times :-)
terrific, jean! wow!
other faves: Black and Blue, Ain't Misbehavin', Bring in da noise bring in da funk
Aida :-D
love love love them!
didn't see that but heard it was excellent
JC Superstar
:-D
a friend of mine got to see Hair when it was first on Broadway and got up on stage and danced :-)
oh, I saw Hair in NY too, around 1971
It was a shocking thing back then with the naked scene
what a thrill! LOVE the music!
yeah, i'm sure . . .
(I grew up in NJ)
yes good score!
ooohhh, that explains it! LOL

Oh, and Avenue Q I had to see twice in 2 weeks
my daughter and I loved Avenue Q! in fact she got to see it again in Detroit :-)
I thought it was hilarious
it was!!!
and Torch Song Trilogy and Agnes of God were wonderful as well (yes, I went to NYC a lot in the '80s with my mom LOL)
I told a candian friend about it when it came to Toronto and she and her cousin HATED it. Can't figure it out
what??? I've never heard of anyone who didn't love it!!
same here
and they're not "puritans" by any means
:-D
the Internet is for porn!

everyone knows that!
the spelling bee is on tv and I have not finished babble, will multitask
and now the muppets know it too
cracks me up just thinking about it!

hey nan
;)
HI people. It is a weekend for me!
hey bugs!
How is your day going stid?
not bad, bugs. still sick so stayed home and missed the end-of-year potluck
otherwise, it's nice to be done with everything
hi. wanna help keep me awake long enough so i can go to sleep soon? lol
I am sorry you are not feeling well. Are your classes all done then?
hey feather. WAKE UP!!! *shakes monitor*
all classes done. all work in on time and as complete as it was going to be.
*wubba wubba wubba* awake!
now have about two weeks to rest before the summer classes begin
rest is nice
Our graduation is tomorrow, stid! :)
rest is nice. will be more restful when not actually sick while resting...
Hi featherbee. Wanna see my pet snake? It might wake you up if you don't like them
wonderful, pini! so your paperwork load will be getting more manageable for a while?
*doubletake* pet SNAKE???? for real?
what kind of snake?
no not for real. I like cuddly things like cats and guinea pigs
as far as graduation is concerned, yes; but we also received approval on our new minor, so summer will be spent getting ready for our new MFA students and new UG minors!
lol, i'm so gullible
*sigh of relief* GOOD. I like snakes, but only in the garden.
nice you'll have some minors around... *grin* not like 7th or 8th graders though!
I can't imagine how people think reptiles can be " pets"
My faculty act like 7th/8th graders!
now now, pini... *plays soothing rock music*
ROFL!
SO. about August... do you actually REALLY want to sleep in a tent in my backyard, or do you want a hotel room?
i was just contemplating changing my icon to something to go with "weed". big mistake. go ahead, google "weed" and see what you get!
I'm thinking a hotel/hostel might be more appropriate ;)
I can guess, feather!
well, not THAT kind of weed, weed!
lol
okay, so will need a price range...
lo7/44 pls
lo7/44 pls
cheap?
*sucks funny cigarette*
I'd be happy to sleep in a tent if I could somehow get there.....*sigh*
anyone else watching the spelling bee on TV?
HEY MOM!
where are you, MNH?
MomN you'd be very welcome...
hey jmc!
I was and then I realized i didn't care peri
no peri, no TV in my room.
is it exciting?
lol, careful with those jmc
I love the spelling bee, the kids are amazing
I'll send a big wave from the other coast....
down to 77... still listless so far.

21 August.
It ends with a comparative ending meaning more
i am watching lionel barrymore in mysterious island from 1929
I don't know if I have seen that one before jmc
got the l07 ty
jmc we are on the same coast. But I will wave south.....see me....
ok, this will do. new icon.
I may be flying from atlanta for the west cost meet up
no lickety, no babanon - any lists about?
marigold feather?
gremlin dan
gremlin dan2bit
dandelion
hiya feather! long time!
I like that icon. And glad you got all the funding you needed!
DAN! *admiring baby 2bit*
there's one in my prof, too
so it is
jealous jmc
:) about 90% of my funding came from babblers! now i just have to wait for september. i'm not the most patient soul....
how are you-all doing? is mrs. Dan coping okay with the whole "mommy" thing? (I didn't cope too well...)
a realtively young lionel barrymore is something to watch
I would like cheap to medium well done as long as it is clean, please Stidmama or, Pini and I could share a room (if you are looking for a partner Pini)
it's wearing us down a bit - the sleep schedule mostly, but she's awesome and we're madly in love :-)
there are some hotels downtown, that would be walking distance to the farmer's market but not so expensive as the fancy place. I'll take a look online
ooh a biggie, what's the verdict? ok to jump in?
ahhhh - babies are such wonders
don't be mom --- come along with me
a room with 2-dbl beds would fit 4 of us, yes???
you can get half quick - jump
I can stay in olympia with les purse
wonderful, Dan! I remember how hard it was to adjust to the infant-style schedule. It doesn't last forever (luckily). Remember *stern mama look at both new parents* that when baby naps, you do too! Housework can wait. (But do take out the garbage regularly)
HOw much is the fancy place.
who's les purse?
hey LA! it's not bad, down to 76 listless. No lickety though
Les is the grand high mucky muck at TESC
it's VERY expensive.
mom is doing better napping with baby than I am - but I'm not getting up each and every time at night, either
he is a sweetie and plays a mean guitar
and we're through the out-of-town visitors for the time being
then there is the quaker mafia
Pini I am driving down with Flosey and Jilli and if you are game, 2 double beds in one room would work for me if it works for them.
My husband hates this game = yeah like he will let me spend money to meet you all on the west coast... thinking
Wouldn't it be more fun if most of us stayed at the same place tho jmc?
well i say pttttthhhhh :-P to him
I don't mind at all, bugs...I figure, all we'll be doing (for the most part) is sleeping! :)
the fanciest one is a minimum of $125 a night, with $300 for the fancy rooms.
sure bugs I am open to that
jmc...we need to coordinate our meet up!
lets go for not so fancy stiddie
glad the out of towners are gone for a bit. That is exhausting even without a baby around!
stid...where is Quince street in relation to you?
dan2bit, the baby will start sleeping longer in her third month. It won't last forever but you will never be more tired!
It's on the "cheap" end...
It's = Quality Inn
well, I live closer to Shelton than Olympia, of course... so it's a long way! about 30 minutes.
I can do that cost stid if we share costs
the quality inn is usually a reasonable choice, except it is right next to the freeway.
poo 30 minutes is noting
ooooooh, didn't know that...will revise search ;)
*nothing
Super 8?
hmmm need another margarita
how about not so super 6
on Northview Circle (Shelton)
Super 8 is in Lacey or Tumwater.
The 6 is a flophouse.
<-- using "Hotel Guide"
no no. NOT Shelton. Olympia is a better choice for visiting because there are both inside and outside places to hang out.
i can flop with the best of them
I thought you said you were closer to Shelton...so I was looking at hotels there instead of Olympia proper...
and jmc is right. 30 minutes is not a LONG drive, just probably further away than most people think of.
*FLIP FLOP*
I don't mind it...30's not that bad
I am in an unincorporated with minimum housing density of 1 house per acre and usually 1 per 5 acres. we drive LONG distances just to get to anywhere.
gotcha
i grew up in texas where everything is 30 minutes away
takes about 45-50 mins to get to Camo Boy's house
admires jmc's flopping
and to see a grandson, SO worth the drive! LOL
*curtsies*
brb - phone
I am a pro
bugs, the quality inn that pini mentioned is about $80 a night
li5/12 pls
an advantage to that one would be easy to get to
oh goodie, almost 9. i'm going to bed now!
sweet dreams feather! see you again!
bye feather!
I think it's $80 per night for 1 + about $10 per person add'l after that...
so may not be too bad...
(brb - really, phone)
okay with 4 people in the room. . . . $110/4=27@
plus tip=$30@
nm
reallyweird movie
there is also the best western which is right on capitol way...
even considering it is based on jules verne
uh oh she is mad now. . . her bubbla got killed
I think we'd need to check with Jill and Flosey, too. Not sure if they would want to share room/bed or not.
okie doke
brb margarita is calling me
actually, just looked at travelocity, and they seem to have a special rate for the Red Lion on top of the courthouse hill.... would be a LOT nicer than the quality inn, if a tad further from downtown.
mmmmmmmmmmmargaritaaaaaaaaa
tey hotwire
*try
what do you think jmc? red lion? about $80 a night for a room with two queens.
frozen or straight up - lemon and salt?
frozenish lemon and no salt tonight
Heyas kids ..
*sucking in cheeks*
sounds good to me stiddie i am very open minded having slept in many an "office"
hm after taxes closer to $100 a night. but still, for 4 people that's reasonable
want some mom?
cant say no jmc
uh oh the roman slave turned gill people are battering the submarine
I wonder if I can use my uni discount? (doubt it, but worth asking about!)
yikes not a lizard is stalking them!
go lionel go!
*now
I missed it - what are you watching jmc
the 1929 version of The Mysterious Island
with all due respect, there's a senior discount on rooms, too! :)
what channel
with a very young lionel barrymore
turner
how many nights do we want? the 20th for sure... how long to stay?
I have to "work" on Monday the 23rd, but the Sunday is wide open for me.
it's summer, so as long as I get it marked on the work calendar, I'm a bit open...say Fri/Mon? visiting Sat/Sun?
dunno I want to drive over and pick up lbd soprobably Fruday and Saturday at the most
at least I think I need to work on that day... depending on when my mentor teacher wants me to start up at her school.
I think that sounds best to me, pini. Bugs? what do you think?
jmc...when's the trip to MT?
let me know and I will work around it
are you kidnapping her to join us? or going over to visit and then return?
I thought I would drive over on Thurs or Friday depending on when I leave Atalanta
I want to kidnap her and then take her home on Monday
gotcha! :)
or maybe sunday night
well, I'm still up for co-piloting, if you want the company
then drive back to where ever I end up with an airplane ticket
good point, jmc...need to know where you're going to "land" over here
I originally thought i would land in portland
there are people I could meet there for work
oooh. that would be so fun.
what if *radical notion alert* you landed near her city... drove from there and then drove back?
ok...if it works out, perhaps I can pick you up there and drive up to Oly before heading east to lbd...
that would be quicker for you, jmc
gee. it's complicated!
there's a novel idea, stid!! LOL
*wished I lived south*
so if I go to ata on Aug 17 -18 then fly to portland then drive to MT?
and pini knows how to get here -- she could take the train even and we could ferry her around no problemo
I think fly to MT, and drive out from there. Much fewer gas miles.
i am confussled
do y'all have skype???
we could conference call this stuff!
i have skype
I have skype... but I am really not talking very well just now
no worries, stid...I can chat with jmc and get some ideas rolling...
I'm up on skype. pini, you're one of my contacts, but I don't have jmc. do you know how to make a conference call?
ah, that would be easier on my voice today.
yeah...let me put Koda up before opening the line...
(you could just listen in and/or type in the chat part, stid! :))
my skype name is jmcnrick lol
I could do that, too. sure.
Mine's pinikula! go figure! :)
and mine is... *drumroll* stidmama (of course)
give a acouple of mins must pee
TMI, jmc!
**stomps feet** I want to go, I want to go...
gads, we're too easy!!!
MNH...you on skype, too?
you could at least chat with us! :)
I need a better name - you all can help me pick one
well then, COME. OR.... know that next summer I hope to have some time to travel and visit with folks elsewhere for a change.
havent tried skype yet...
what name do you like? I always like the name Louise....
what are you thinking toward, mnh
it was the name of one of my grandmother's favorite aunts.
I also like floral names. Rose, Lily, Iris...
*thinking about writing floral names to look like flowers*
Unfortunately I have limited vacation time - I used my extra days to visit my sick friend in Florida in Feb - got caught up down there in the snow storms - darn - had to stay an extra 3 days - loved my time with my friend but used up all extra days for this year. So next year will plan something...
ok...added jmc to my contact list...
that's okay MomN. *STROKE OF BRILLIANCE*
No Louise - pussy face sister-in-laws mother
what if.... what if we set up a massive skype-style conference thingy FROM our meetup?
rofl Mom! okay okay! no Louise!
oh, wouldn't that be hysterical, stid!!!
got to get the time right
will set my alarm if necessary
Oh wait I'm earlier than you
so you set your alarm - lol
Then maybe Scrabs and Ciocia Judy and TO and seain and all could "join" us for a little bit from local meetups?
it's only a 3 hr time difference, so not too bad!
now they are being attacked by a giant octopickle
no lickety tonight?
ROFL
no lickety shirl
hey shirlock, no, but gremlinn posted in his profile
shirl...grem has a list (a copy of it is in my prof)

at least no worries about our "Let it ALL Hang Out" geoduck being taken away...
I am very confused with this chog
duck! have you guys seen the vid about duck penises?
wow MomN, you're doing well if it's only the chog that confuses... LOL I am being confused by LIFE today.
at least all my family are home safely now.
no I am even more confused - lol
was considering another glass of wine - but now afraid (oh good not in todays puzzle)

I am really looking forward to it.
*weeping*
it is going to be great fun

Jen, you are close enough, you could go to some of the DC/Baltimore meetups they have
*hands mom a hankie*]
MomN -- we have an idea to set up a huge conference call thingy for babblers. I need to research how to make that work,
but then we could have a remote meetup
we can do it, stid...we all have the technology
and that would be SO COOL. A world-wide meetup
*wipes tears - listens...*
I feel like I am never on babble anymore and don't know about them.... only reason I have actually had time tonight is b/c hubby is working and child collapsed in bed afer soccer practice....sigh
MNH...did you get skype yet!
that's one way to get a kid to sleep on time! LOL
mom you can come down to DC and stay with me

hey ru
pr 8?
skype
MNH, you should hear a sound somewhat like a ringing phone when jmc tries to connect with you
logged in - riverdance27
if you d/l'd it, you should have an icon on your desktop or it should be listed in your program menu (off the start button)
Right sorry to bounce and run but I have to do grocery shopping
Mom/River! I think you need to look at the messages that have been sent to you on skype?
arggh
add me jmcnrick
argghhh
you should see some requests to add as contact -- I know I sent one to you, and jmc to
or too
MNH/River...go to the contacts tab and select add contact: pinikula, stidmama, jmcnrick ;)
lo7/44 puhlese?

5/10
ro7 is similar to a brand of ski

MNH - close Skype...reopen it using the icon (ei6 on your desktop or via Start button)
whooo hooo jilll!\
YAY JILL!!!! glad you're here. do you want to share a room with anyone at the motel and do you have a spending limit?
hi all
the pr = first 5 letters of previous + flower r***
You should see a dialog box that says, "Welcome to Skype" and it asks for your login credentials...
hi cyber
brands of skiis.... hm. brands of dog food maybe. comon names in the education community, perhaps... (still learning those). SKIIS????
hey nan!
brands of cowboy hats?
thanks
Skype should open and give you a menu bar at the top with the following: Skype, Contacts, Conversation, Call, View, Tools, Help...
thank you very much
oh wait. back up. We are talking about the meetup in August, Jill -- and thought there was a good deal at one place, about $100 a night for a room, which if shared can be reasonable.
I'll share a room if necessary, stid -- no particular limit.
ow 5, please?
But you know -- within reason!
...select "Contacts," then "New Contact"...add stid, jmc, and me ;)
sounds good jill how about flosey?
ow5/18 is ow 4/8 plus a hump letter cybernan & hello
okay. we were thinking the red lion, which normally has pretty high rates, but right now seems to have a discount would work.
nan add a consonant to end of previous
Maybe could share with flosey? She's away just now.
hello Min! welcome to the grid!
(and it looks like there's yet another update...so I'm doing that now to make sure I'm seeing the same thing MNH is seeing)
ty
*looking in pb for margarita fixings*
hic
yes, sharing with flosey would probably work -- Bugs, jmc and pini are talking about sharing a room.
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
Where is this, stid? Olympia?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
whatever i am updating too
(yep...same instructions apply, mnh)
I wish I could make it
Hi min
Have you contacted saanichcat?
my experience with motels says they will give discounts for seniors, AAA, military and who knows whatall
but only one
not yet jill. wanted to be sure we had things well underway.
I can write to her now -- would there be room in Bugs' car though?
so ask which one has the biggest
MNH...I SEE YOU!!!!! :)
Bugs can take 3 of us with limited luggage :)
dont want any bugs in my luggage = lol
So no, I guess there wouldn't be room for four.
bummer. that's okay. I will let her know about the meet up anyway.
room for 4 where?
I have room for 7 in my van
I can drive further up and haul a few warm bodies...
MNH -- do you see the chat in skype?
:P
hey DR! when did you get here?
come on up, DR!!
In bugsaw's Yaris, pini
bbl
I could too -- and that would be more convenient than you driving pini
10:21 Stid
I can haul me + 4 and a boat load of luggage! :)
brb
wow- I get here an people leave
I even showered today
I had to change my icon. My icon clue before turned out to be black box. Can you see a real picture now?
but but but...

it qwould be a nice break Pini
Why not DR? bring the kiddo too
struggling with the pe's -- have a 4/5 and two 5/12's -- any clues?
work : (
work is boring.
it's getting in the way of LBD coming, too.
so true
Another pe 5/12 word is danger. Do you have it yet?
yes
well, if I invent a reason to go to LA at some point, maybe I could go down to where you are too.
Another pe 4/5 word is Babbler Pe**winkle cybernan.
Koda's going out...brb
pe4.5 can become a flower or a belief - boith 7s
LA is easier for me than where you are sadly since my boss is in LA
danger and small
