angel the one AS 8 8 i have is common the other one i have no idea what it i
is
phhant janitor
got the 8's, thanks, grem! :)
the second is common, the first is not that common but most people should know it
the one htat has to do with space
tlhat
it seems misspelled somehow... the second as8, I mean
the space one?
the space one is spelled correctly as in outer space
have the space one -- no I dea on the first one
ok, I guess it's the first one, just thinking of it as the second or not-so-easy one, lol
me either cyber
the first one might look misspelled because you can change the first vowel and have another word
I guess the first as8 is only somewhat common under the "correctly spelled" way
first as8 means "To make uneven; roughen" - I thought it would be an alternate spelling
ex+the first a8 is a more familiar word. to drive someone up the wall.
melon hi
wouldn't be surprised if it shared etymology
tx melon
hi, ARB. My kid was in the ER last night - exhausted, maybe dehydrated. They got right on it and took good care of him. Other than that, his counselor says he's doing great and has endeared himself to everybody.
ty melon -- that did it for me
grem - it occurs to me, to.
over half way -- enough for now -- see you tomorrow :)
melon -- typical summer malady here -- so hot, so much sweating and not drinking enough water. Good you're getting such great reports.
well this AS8 is driving me up the wall lol
change the front "a" to "re" and it sounds like the word meaning to breathe
most certainly, ARB. Adam, Fred's counselor is taking him shopping to buy one of those water packs with the tube that goes straight to your mouth. They were doing a building project at Yemin Orde school in the Galil.
Just think of it -- in 30 years he'll show his kids or grandkids the wall he built and brag about it!

How's tis grid? Looks tough so for.

Well, you're getting to be one of the experts, flosey
ack - when is the new babble thingy going to start??
oh no, wouldn't say that jilli, just plod along
hi saint -- not for a while yet, I hear -- lots still to do.
DrG keeps teasing on facebook! :p
hiya jilli.
hi sf
hi there flosey, and everyone :)
i think i've just made a small revelation... i'm 44, and have always been a 'night owl' (its 2am and am currently rearranging my living room).. i think it's time to Embrace that fact and quit fighting it to be on "normal hours". thoughts?
top row greyed, haha
i feel my best and am most productive in the wee hours, most days
I've always been a night owl sf
i mean, is that so wrong??
I can only say one thing franny, I used to be exactly the same as you , but I always felt tired
lol jilli, ru was bragging about that earlier!
welcome to the club, sf, although I'm not quite as nighty as you.
jilli and ru.. the top row gang
Now i go to bed early and have so much more energy , but I say to each his own!
well, that's just it sandy! i Am always tired, but because i try to get up and live the day as 'normal' ppl do.. i should just embrace being up/sleeping in "late".. i rarely sleep more than 7 hrs all said
plus, for some reason, i just really don't like morning. maybe it reminds me of crap jobs i hated that i had to go to at the crack of dawn, or school, or w/e
I was like it for years but I appreciate not being tired now
glad to hear I'm not the only one who likes to stay up late and do things Its a good thing saintfranny
yay bekki! :)
I sleep 8 or 9 hours and get up late and too bad if people don't like it. The only trouble is that so much here takes place in the mornings. Early birds are rather intolerant.

jilli - talk to J or G lately? i've been out of the circulation a bit. battling the sadness over losing my mom 4 mos ago.
oh sf, sorry to hear that
sorry to hear that franny, I am dreading that time of my life -
G has been on here for the past few nights -- J is busy writing a book.
tx flosey. i know it's something we all must face, but it was very sudden (she was only 67) and i just wasn't ready. miss her so much.. my last living relative too.
oh yah? i will have to try to catch them elsewhere.
So sorry about your mom, sf -- it's hard, I know.
she was very young, mine is 83 and going strong
oh my, sf, much too young
I am dreading it

wow, lucky sandy. i thought my mom would live 'forever'. my g-grandma lived to be 99 and 11 mos.
I feel for you fran
my mom was almost 94
I hope I live to at least 70

I know how you feel. My husband passed away june 7
I'm hoping for a few thousand.
and the only relative-that makes it worse
me too gremlin
am just not sure how to deal with it, except time. my best friend just lost her newlywed husband, and she's adrift too, in a diff. way. don't know what to tell her either.
HI ALL
I'm young enough that I have a chance for life-extending technologies to keep me going, starting in a few decades.
hi m9
Ohhh Bekki - am soo sorry!
<--- has had a good life already
i dont think you can deal with things like that you have to just journey through
so much sadness!
how long were you married bekki?
it take time, we was married on my birthday 12/01/03
yeah, sorry to bring debbie downer to the party jilli. :/ it's just nice to talk briefly with others about it.. i carry it around alone all day every day.
ohh you poor thing - still sort of newlyweds yourselves!
he is at peace now he had beeen suffering for quite a while
well, that is a consolation. my mom had many health problems too, always in pain. now i know she's free.
ok... back to your regular programming people. thanks for indulging me for a minute. always comforting to see you all here every day, regardless of whether i join the chog or not.

How can meters not be in the dictionary???
um, it is
and thanks ;)
Mine just said it wasn't!
er.. maybe check it in the PB sf
Interesting - now it is!
ooops I mean dof
not me ru! haha
That's weird - in future, when words you know exiost aren't there, maybe worth trying again later.
metre
You may have just mistyped it.
LOL
no - checked and rechecked
Ooops! Sorry!
or typed it in the wrong place
Any goodies in the pb?
If you put a space in front or at the end, it will say it's not in the dictionary.
Sadly, plural for that one is n ot in the puzzle!
yes, grem, I've done that
reat
Oh, bother!
okay dof..you can knock it off now
Anyway, no such word! Phew!
Just came back from kitchen duty (and some yummy cherries)
This grid gives me my recommended daily allowance of Babblets, which I didn't get in the grids from the past two days

it was nice to see the buffalo and the dolphin and the goat again
I'm currently at mnbt3, meaning I have either 3 words or the maximum from every tile, whichever is more

Hi everyone.
hi sandy
Can you see the horse or the manta ray in my icon m9?
horse.. but I see manta at profile. let me refresh
now I see manta
m9 , did you read my manta ray story? and m9 what is an "unschooling mom" ?
I did! that is very cool!
it was so cool!
i need to change what I wrote...since I changed my icon to the parasitic castrator of hemigrapsus oreganensis!
goo9d morning!
I homeschool my children sandy. unschooling is a specific parenting/homeschooling style.
hey ruby!
morning ruby, I bet you loved the controversy last night! and m9 what is an 'unschooling mom"?
yes, hahah, boo hiss on Alberto!!!!
sorry i see now - you are amazing! My cousins were home schooled but they lived on a sheep station
I am in two minds about that Ruby, after all did he know? (I know Lance would have waited and has done in the p***) and what could he do? I dont know what I think
Al looked sheepish on the podium
Ruby, read my icon story
nice connection. sheep station...looking sheepish...
m9 you would have to be very organised- my cousins mum was a school teacher and she had very strict times. she had two children who were both dux at their boarding schools (which they went to in upper school) they are now both vets
no..it's not like that at our house sandy.
I can't get into the profiles now, will try again later. The computer freezes when I try....It also has another hairball!
she obviously did a great job
Ruby, I can just see your face when that happened last night! I said to my daughter that I wished I was at your place with you watching the tour\
what fun we would have! I stand there yelling at the screen and DH stays in the other room!
i don't see how there can be so many TO words!!!
I wish I could do the 'startrek' transporter thing. I would love to watch the Tour with someone else who loved it
I have three only to words
it is true. DH sometimes puts it on in the other room, just to spite me and then acts like he's invented the whole thing!
ohhh! I remembered the to word that ends in the double vowel from the other day!
We could have a lot of fun
quick 40 words but I have the feeling this is a deceptively easy grid, that after 50, the walls may close in.....
I got 139 before I went to lickety , now I am looking at lickety
and drink margueritas or something!
or sangria.....
they all sound fine to me
I am looking for that m9
Got it!
yay!
I wonder who will win Ruby - I think Contador may get there
I got nbt and over halfway and then I listed
Lance must be a saint! I dont think at that stage I would have waited
LOL at that stage, I would have been resting in a hospital bed
I'm afraid Contador will win but will be much hated. I am hoping for Vino to win and for Lance to take the Tourmalet on Thursday!
Hmmm I don't think he will be able to take the Tourmalet - I think he is getting too old
wishful thinking, but fun anyway. Maybe Contador will fall and everybody will ride OVER his prone body!
LOL I was thinking he might have an accident
the commentators think he is conserving his strength but they like him, too, even though they're French.
You mean Vino? I know our commentator Phil Ligget (english) doesn't like him
He got caught by putting in someone else's blood sample
Let's face it , it could have been any of them
I didn't like him when he was head-to-head with Lance but since he's serve his 2-year suspension for drugs and has learned French (unlike Al!!!!), he seems to have had a personality transplant
and I would like to see him break Contador's heart!
Not sure but he seems ok , still think he has that propensity to ride for himself and not the team
76 words!
We are forgetting about Andy's heart!
I'm counting on that!
but he is still young, not like Lance and Vino. And I really think he needs his brother near him to add the oomph he lacks
I am having a huge laugh here
I felt sorry for him last night
it is so nice to be able to talk about this with a friend; nobody here is interested, even the gardener!
Ruby, do you have any children?
my son lives in Texas, a few blocks from Lance's Austin home (he has many, I think), but it is his wife who is a fan.
no grandchildren, however, her choice
I have no grandchildren either, but I have four children
I just have the one; are your young enough to still have children of their own?
do you go to visit you son and hang outside Lance's house? LOL
bingo! 4th column
before Lance left his first wife for Sheryl Crowe, John used to see him cycling in the neighborhood occasionally. My son comes here more than I go there. It takes 23 hrs to get to Austin from here, 3 flights!
ok. 47 to go...I'm to bed!
47! you are amazing, M9
didn't he go back to his wife??
how widely separated are your children, sandy?
oldest daughter is 39- just broke up with her boyfriend next is 35 she is Nicky and has lots of health problems, next is 29 and has a boyfriend (maybe they will have one) next is 25 (only boy) and well you never know
Way! 100 to go. Now I can chat. How is everyone today?
I didn't know? Sheryl had breast cancer, and he broke up with her soon after.
so you have lots of time to be a "mamie" (Fr word, lol)
hi sally i have 125 left
hello Sally
Haven't listed, so now I think I have done the easy ones and will slow down to a crawl.
speaking of drugs......
three live here in Perth (nicky with me) and son is in Melbourne - Diana is in Broome (29) they love me and spend as much time with us as possible
that means 2 live in perth Di in Broome and Stuart in Melbourne
you are so lucky!!! I'm close with my boy, but our communication is by phone and e-mail. He was here in May, so it's not so bad
and, after all, I am the one who left the US!
I love to see them , but I worry about them all the time as we mothers do
Are they close to each other as well sandy? (I don't mean geographically)
nope.. has kids (naturally after the cancer!) with his girlfriend.
ok.. and now I really AM to bed!
Do you ever think of going back to the US ruby?
sweet dreams M9!
never!
Hi and bye m9
only if I get sick
couldn't leave garden and dogs
thanks ruby!
That was said with some feeling!
They are Sally, they are really caring about eachother - I think it is because Bruce and I come from large families- I have 34 first cousins and we all love eachother madly
Mum came from a family of eight and was bought up on a sheep station and they had to take care of eachother as it was a hard life
That's wonderful sandy. I only have two first cousins, and am very close to one in particular. Have one brother and one sister, and although I care about them I wouldn't say I am as much on the same wavelength with them as with my cousin.
that is lovely, Sandy, I come from a family of many cousins but husband was an only child with no family to speak of. I think that's why he has no contact with his 3 children or 5 grandchildren. It's sad, but there is nothing I can do although, believe me, I have tried
no electricity, phone , cars , washing machines etc. and very isolated making for strong family bonds
I have one brother and one sister and we are also very close
Ruby that is very sad and he will regret it I feel
we were in NY, but mother was one of 4 and father one of 5 and each set of aunta and uncles had at least 2 children, so lots of cousins on both sides and most of them in NY
he already does, but it is a problem he has brought on himself and he won't admit how sad it makes him which would be the first step in fixing it
I love the extended families - a lot of them had sheep stations and we would spend our school holidays with them - I guess that is why i love the rural life
and, don't forget, I'm his 4th wife!
sheep stations -- how wonderful and exotic!!!!
I hope you will be his last- he must have been a charming man at one stage
when I met him, he was magic!
It was great going for holidays
A hard life ruby. T's cousin had a sheep station we visited in Oz (they've now retired). Wonderful to visit, but very hard.
all I know about sheep, I have learned from movies (like almost everything else!!)
Not so hard as it used to be Sally, they have a lot of mod cons nowadays
one of my cousins had a station that was one million acres
gulp
he divided it into two stations and has sold both now
unimagionable for a city girl!! Our 1/2 acre seems vast to me
The best person in our family is my mother , she is fantastic even at 83
All my cousins adore here
her
it sounds like you are the best person in the family, maybe after your mother.....lol
A big close family like that is the best thing in the world. I was lucky that I had, on the whole, a very close and loving childhood. No money but much fun - and PB for sandy.
BTW, 100!
Two PBs for sandy in fact.
LOL of course I am perfect!
ooh, I didn't have that he4
ty sandy
Yay for ruby!
ooh not so perfect I guess
lol
I got another he4 when I looked for that
missed the second one -- putting monkeys to work
You can get a plural from that, and an he 6/21
got both of them thanks sally
Just read backwards ruby :-)
It's a good job we don't have a D near one of the Es in the grid or we would have about 500 words!
I was thinking the other day about childhood, we did so much with no TV and the neighbourhood kids
it is terrible that kids now don't just go out and play, unsupervised!
I caN'T IMAGINE TAKING KIDS TO LESSONS EVERY DAY AFTER SCHOOL THE WAY THESE YOUNG MOTHERS DO NOW
it is Ruby, we certainly did in relative safety
Calm down ruby!
WE'D COME BACK FOR DINNER AND, IN SUMMER, GO OUT AGAIN UNTIL DARK!
although when I was little I picked up a snake
whoops, didn't mean to get worked up....hahah
Tsk, tsk! Blood pressure!
warming up for the pedals
Ah, that's something you don't do lightly in Australia.
I have the blood pressure of a snake....
I didn't get bitten
Don't mention the s word, sandy... Good morning/evening all!
Hi Haz.
no s-words here, just funny lizards!
hi haz
hi haz
Hello! Nice grid today, isn't it?
Just found such an obvious ar4! Someone hit me with a fish.
oops time to feed and rug bblater
It's a really lovely grid Haz
Bye for now sandy.
bye sandy, see you after the race! boo hiss to you-know-who!!!
great grid, love those builders!
LOL poor Contador put a message up on youtube apologising to Andy. and hi!
Hello, Ata, how are you?
Aaah! Just found my first 8. A lovely un-monkeyed one too.
I'll try to find it. Too funny. How are you, Ata? How are you doing on the pedals?
Flowe rwith a robot ending ruby.
rather tired, no idea why though!
Hobbit didn't even bother with the arranging of the paws after our walk, she just went straight to sleep!
looking for the flower
How funny, it's the word usually used to illustrate the infamous robotic ending.
it's great that you can walk her again! did you arrange your paws after?
Dear me, Ata, she must be tired. She'll be nice and fresh for the ceremony later.
I probably should!
ty for that additional hint after Sally's, haz, it took both for me to find it
You're welcome, ruby.
There's a 7 in the middle of those two as well ruby. First 5 letters are the same. Not such an obvious one though.
And the bulk building drug.
Unknown to any athletes.
Yes, I had that one early on.
not my Lance!!!
Have Accomplished the As. Greyed the top row fairly on too :-)
/early/ on
What was your technique for greying the top row, Sally? Minimum top row blank tiles with all fingers or did you use any sort of restriction?
NBTEWT! hurrah!
off to lunch, see you later, stopping at 122! {{hugs}}
Bye, ruby.
I decided if I got just one from each, that would be a good start.
A deceptively simple technique.
OK, translate please Ata.
no blank tiles even while tired
rofl!
And bye ruby.
Lunch? Only just had breakfast.
Well done!
But was it MNBT or NBTWVIWA?
oh .... NBTWVIWAABPA
No blank tileswith variation in words achieved and a BPA?
and before paw arranging :P
Ah! I might have laboured long and hard before I'd have come up with paw arranging.
BIAM
Back in a minute.
You can't fool us.
HEllo
it seemed suitably unlikely :)
Hello, herin.
HOw you all?
I'm fine, thanks.
I was not going to start
bet she's gone to get tea without asking us
Probably.
I don't mind on my own account, not being a tea drinker really, but you could probably do with a cup.
Walking and getting no blank tiles even while tired deserves a cup of tea.
I think so
Ata how is your knee?
annoyingly painful!
Morning/evening all.
Have you been over doing it again Ata?
Hello, FM.
nooooo!
Hi Hazarus
well, rest up between now and Friday OK!
and I am off to the PB
And take lots of drugs.
Give her some of your blue and pink stripey ones Haz.
I really haven't, for once :) Very short easy walks with the pup :)
But I need them.
you don't take them, you just wear them as a pretty necklace - it is not the same.
I keep telling you that!
It's still reassuring to see them.
do you want to see one of the cool photos I tookthis morning?
owies ata
Hi herin. yes please Ata.
Back with large tray of tea and coffee and home-made shortbread. Please help yourselves :-)
Hooray! Sally's a good egg after all.
there. a bit squooshed, but 2 egrets having a tiff!
After all? Did you seriously doubt it?
oooh homemade shortbread, you are a st4 Sally. I knew I liked you from the start.
Ata thought you had just gone off to make tea for yourself without thinking of us.
The egret picture alongside the spinach ball recipe boggles the mind somewhat.
That must ahve been a sight Ata!
I said it was a possibility ..!
Make room for me, I just got the other 8 so deserve a coffee and shortbread - thanks Sally.
Hi FM
Hi Sally
One of the nice things about having had lots of people over is that there's food in the house :-)
it was, both were trying to be big and important, then egret on the left flew at EOTR. Much flapping and shrieking later and EOTR flew off
Hello, lynxxx.
Organic Fairtrade coffee too.
That's OFTC in acronym speak.
hi again
mmmmm coffee
Hello, sandy.
Sandy Hi
mmmmm wine
Sorry Haz. WTTDBNT.
Will try to do better next time.
Ding ding!
she's good at this
I should have been one of those Enigma people.
do you watch ONly Connect, Haz? on BBC4
No, I don't think I've ever seen it.
you really would love it! have a look on iplayer
I will - is George Clooney in it?
Returns to the log, had a deliery from Amazon.
about connections between words and things. quiz show thing with victoria coren
unfortunately not
Shame, but still, it's worth a look.
What did you get, FM?
I think you'd like it, rather a lot
4 books
What books?
Sandy Have you seen the new Anti Gillard Advert?
"The Help" as it has been much talked about in the log.
oh yes herin, I have seen that - and I have seen her advert
as a swinging voter, I feel the anit gillard ad is more powerful , but I have been slightly impressed by what she has done so far
"The Time Traveler's Wife" and "The Girl with Glass Feet" which were both on cheapy sale
And can I say that the advert is baseless
O FM that sounds like great reads
and finally a gardening book on how to prune and cope with roses and shrubs.
Daughter 2 loves the Time Traveller's Wife.
They've made a film of "The Time Traveler's Wife", haven't they. I think someone said the book was far better.
Did you not order Jordan's latest blockbuster?
Whole lot cost about £14 and no delivery charge. Yep Sally, thats why I thought I would try the book
FM is that the Kathryn Stockett book?
Googles " Girl with Glass Feet"
Yes herin.
Thanks
I wouldn't even buy that at a car boot fair Haz.
where is sprite lately
But FM - she has children to support. And Alex.
Gosh, brilliant reviews. Must put it on my wish list.
THe Girl with the Glass feet is that by Shaw?
and she's such a popstar too
Will SMith did a movie of The Legend but the book is so much better and has a different ending. Hollywood adapt for the box office.
adapt - one of my phantoms for today.
I know - Renaissance Woman for the 21st century really.
again yes herin - have no idea what the book is going to be like but it sounded intreguing.
It does sound interesting FM
there was a hilarious piece about her in the Mail the other day about how she didn't sing her latest song, didn't write it, got the lipsyncing wrong etc etc
mmmm new book smell :)
Original movie The Last Man on Earth was better. I Am Legend by Richard Matheson
You too FM! Could just sit and sniff in a book shop.
Did we expect any more than that Ata?
Richard Matheson
oh no, it was just so funny. let me see if I can find it again
lol Sally
Jordan as in Plastic popstar?
not the same - but there's a pic frm the performance at the bottom - http://tinyurl.com/2uqp4vs
Just totted up, I paid £14 for the books and if I had bought each one at their RRP they would have cost me £31, I love Amazon :)
yes herin.
shudder. I don't even know how she can breath let alone write. There is nothing in her skull
apart from botox
So Jordan's real name is Katie Price, right? (Just read the article). You can see what a fan I am of these things.
Remember seeing a film with Elizabeth Hurley doing an introduction. She was like a walking non-advert for Botox.
yes SAlly
Apparently botox can be used successfully to alleviate migraine headaches.
I think I'll stick with the migraine :-)
I can't imagine having such toxins injected into me at all!
But FM, Ata told me you had had masses of Botox but were trying to keep it quiet!
only cos Haz told me!
So it's blame Haz, not blame FM today then.
Everybody knows I am the SOD. The leak came from someone else.
Oh Ha ha, how come it didnt show up in the pics of our London meet then, huh? huh? Someone round here is telling porkie pies!
(SOD is NOT what it sounds like. Soul of Discretion)
But think what you would have looked like /without/ the Botox then.
or it was after that!
Good thinking Ata.
I don't need botox, I have no wrinkles apart from round the eyes.
I am loving this conversation
true. you don't look a day over 60!
I have had a good laugh today
oh you are so kind, and you are ageing well at 45!
Nothing wrong with wrinkles. They tell the story of your life. A face without wrinkles is a face that hasn't laughed. That's what I tell myself when I look in the mirror anyway.
but I would get a new wig soon.
I keep going into the Body Shop, but they never seem to have a new body for sale.
I am happy with my wrinkles but one day it is all going to catch up with me.
how come my hands are wrinkled they never laugh
Mirrors are always kindest when you don't put your glasses on, aren't they?
we have one that makes us look slim
LOL Sally that used to be my joke - I wanted a new body in size 12 but they never had any in stock.
Those magnifying mirrors should be outlawed.
lol sandy. We have these new hand dryers over here which are very high speed. When you put your hands under or in them all the wrinkles flow up and down like water!
It's incredible, it's like seeing g-force at work.
Excuse me. Can I please spam you all for the moment. I have been informed that this cat on the Whiskers Promotion if she wins her fur mum is donating the winnings to Pets Haven
sounds like heaven sally ....
Did you ever see "The Devil Wears Prada"? All those Size Zero women.
Oh there was a lovely bronze sculpture I saw on Saturday of a very rotund woman standing in front of one of those carnival mirrors that makes you look thin. It was a funny and well executed piece.
Please vote for Theo: http://tinyurl.com/2fqhsj7
Love that move Sally (hangs head), it is so funny.
Will do herin
Since Theo is my grandson's name, I have no option. Will go and do.
Time for me to go, had breakfast at 5am so now it is time for lunch. TTFN.
Thank you. They are trying to get 10 000 Votes.
Bye, FM.
EMOM (excuse me one moment)
Bye FM
done herin
bye fm
Done herin.
Thank you very very much
There's a lovely card I've seen with a large woman on the scales, and her doctor saying "That's not fluid retention, it's chocolate retention".
Ive seen one like that but the scales are saying 'one at a time please
has anyone read my icon story?
at one of the community clinics on the ceiling is it is moments like these you need minties poster
Yes I did sandy.
WOW Sandy
it was fantastic, i will never forget that
mantas are cute
and huge
Well, time I was doing other things. Great grid, even if it doesn't accept Dior. Bye for now!
bye haz
bye for now Haz
TOG (Toodle-oo Gone)
:-)
bye dear!
has anyone got the first ta7 , is that a mistake?
I have two ta7s but don't know if that's all of them.
hmm it cant be a mistake then , but I cant figure out what it could be.....
If yoiu have the ta 5/12 before it, just add a stutter
thanks sally - duh I am thick
Well it's not a word that trips easily off the tongue in every-day usage.
Have 55 left, how are you doing?
107 left
brain not working so cold
phone

I have been chipping ice off the car in the morning

garbage* truck
Having a slog with those H words in the bottom right corner.
having a slog period
The first 200 are a doddle!
for some they are carlee for others the first 140 are a doddle
:-)
lol
how about the first 58 are doable?
You're not trying carlee!!
i'm not awake.....i am recovering from 10 days of camping with 3000 teenaged girls...and no showers
good afternoon all
Oooohh. You're excused then carlee.
hi sprite
Hallo sprite!
hi sprite, I was wondering where you were
was hanging on the couch reading, waiting for my dear lil' girl to wake up. She managed to sleep in until noon though.
is she sick?
I have my icon mixed up, I did a large creature not a little creature
nope just lazy, lol. We had planned to do some household stuff while it still was cool. I couldn't sleep until 4 am, so I set the alarm... she slept well and did not set her alarm, lol
sandy, it is a beautiful large creature. Must have been an amazing experience.
hi carlee, hi Sally!
it was Sprite - is it school holidays then? I know it has been hot
today is cool locally as well ( whew almost used another word)
loads of stuff to clean up post camp and leaving a teenaged boy alone for 10 days
<------ not liking this grid
carlee , you are brave and was it a school thing?
it is very hot. Hence the need to use the early morning for the heavy stuff...
carlee, I dont like this one much either
yes it is school holidays
girl guides...centenary camp in canada...there one in uk in august
carlee, you are a hero to do such things
No doubt sprite has just about finished it
yep. All 42 words of it
way too many t's to keep track of
I used to be a guide in the distant past
I'd be scared to go with teenagers. I barely understand mine.
we had girls from new zealand there
south africca, bangladesh, japan, ireland, wales
jamaica
i love teenagers....dont much care for ankle biters
dont try to Sprite, just take this advice - never pursue an argument with a teenager, you will never win -
I like them all when they visit us at the farm because they all love to have a ride and drive our four wheeler and they think i am hero LOL
good morning Babblers
lol sandy
hi Nanette!
hi nan
am not sure about this grid. How can there be 284 words hiding in it?
morning nono
Ihave been doing it on and off for ages
still have 88 left
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZWxeIo JH14
Nicky has just found a bone that Jaffa buried in the clothes basket!
i have 200 left :)
my daughter is 3rd from right...is a talent show they put on during camp
they came in second to a crowd of over 3000
lol great carlee
ohoh... tell nicki to give it back, fair is fair :D
its quite cute actually....the crowd was going nuts
yes the crowd is LOUD! Very enthusiastic
Sorry, popped off for a bit - and look what happens! Sprite and Sandy in PB
thats cool Carlee. The girls were quite good
oh dear, what did I say... hi Sally :)
hi Sally
he 4/5 :-)
ouch. So sorry!
i thought so... the girls came up with the lyrics in about 15 mins at a meeting and the day before they practised and got down choreography
Hi Nono. Love your pic. Don't know that bird.
i have said that many times today .......
going strong he4... top row greyed out
I had never seen one before this one Sally. I guess it is quite common but not usually out in the open like this one was
Actually, it was a different he you used, as in He's my he**!
yep I knew, because I had not said the place he4. Still, it was PB-worthy. So it had better be well filled :)
crazy grid!
as
hi Annie
hi annie
hi carlee and sprite...was deep in grid lurking
I have 23 to find - all R words :-(
lol and you got busted. Glad to see you hun.
yes, busted I was.
still 142 left to find, exactly halfway
busted?
Found out.
caught redhanded, carlee
Hi Annie
Hi Nono
sorry am slow...what happened?
there those nasty t's are done
Hello, folks. Another not so bad grid unless you think otherwise -- in which case, ignore this.
gratz carlee
Hi BR!
hey BabbleRabble :) Glad to see you.
hi there br...how are u....
Hello, Annie sprite carlee
otad
hi BR
just monkeying along
invert :)
You need to type that the other way round, Annie.
Snap, sprite!
Hello, Nono
lol Sally, snap
hi annie and brab
thanks sally, sprite, had the inverted one
hi sandy
HowDy, sandyloo
I generally am doing well except when I am not.
and are you now, BabbleRabble?
The days have been challenging but that is just the way it is. This is my quote to think about today:
"Whenever someone sorrows, I do not say, "forget it," or "it will pass," or "it could be worse" -- all of which deny the integrity of the painful experience. But I say, to the contrary, "It is worse than you may allow yourself to think. Delve into the depth. Stay with the feeling. Think of it as a precious source of knowledge and guidance. Then and only then will you be ready to face it and be transformed in the process." --Peter Koestenbaum
sate
good morning, inge
hi there inge
Hello, inge
Hello Inge
that is a good one. Recognition is very important, while pretending it is less than it is can be desastrous. Still, I wish for you that at least some days may be pleasant.
bab , very deep , I just said to someone who asked how to get through something (death) that they should just journey through as there is no other way
i figure once in hell...just keep moving forward... no sense sitting still
BabbleRabble, Wow, that quote will help me in a conversation I am just about to have. Thank you so much I will not forget the message therein.
I always say when at the bottom be happy because the only thing left is the way up
hey Pat
Is it Philosophy Day in BabbleLand?
hi dJean, always
seems so esprit
lots of good ones ;-D
Hi sprite. I rarely chat but eavesdrop sometimes. Sooner or later, is I chat, I input words in this column instead of in the grid - hopeless.
hi Pat and Jean
gm everyone
you are not alone there pat, so dont worry
hi Jean and Pat
we all do pat...
no problem, Pat, I much rather have you chatting with us and dropping some words than you being silent. And who knows, the new babble site may solve the problem at last...
Afternoon here. Hello everyone.
Don't mind us if you do that, Pat. I'm working on the Rs at the moment. :-)
but that will take some of the charm away :(
lol carlee
Pleased to meet you, Patxxx
no more penalty box...no more chocolate decadence in the afternoon
just less often, carlee. But people will say grid words in their stories. And whenever we want, we can earn ourselves a trip to the PB ;)
Good Morning Everyone
hi River
morning River!
FM's penalty box must stay...she decorated the PB just right
hi river
Hi River, How is your son?
Cant stay long - supposed to be working - ugh
it will, Annie. No Babble without PB
He is doing very well - second surgery was a success
oh River am glad
i have a cat who has finally forgiven me for being away..now she wont leave me be
River! I am so happy to hear that. What wonderful news.
I have to make some phone calls but will be back asap.
bbs Pat
yay....glad to hear... yes yes..i know...off to the pb..but that is good news so i thumb my nose at dropping a word or two
how totally catty
thank you - we are all very relieved - his next followup will be the true test - he isnt out of the woods for 3 months but docs are optimistic
River I too am really glad, I have thought of you
ugh...and she is shedding like mad too cus she was so stressed...stopped eating too...but she putting the weight back on
River, I will keep you in my prayers.
good vibes to you and him, River
whoohooo - top row grayed - wow 2 words - lol
River, I just read thru your profile. It looks as if prayers have been answered so far. I continue to pray for keith that he fully recovers and becomes his normal acative self
even the longest grid starts with the first word
You sound like BR, sprite!
thanks - you are absolutely right - our prayers have been answered
So pleased for you River.
Sparklers at last. Must go and do some work. Anyone need a clue?
woot Sally, gratz and great job!
congrats, Sally!!!
woot for sally
congrats Sally
I take that as a compliment, Sally :D
thanks but just started - congrats sally
Had to use lickety at the end.
OK, going, going .... gone!
bye sally
bye Sally
my phantom for today is potion(s) to neutralise poison
bye Sally, have a good day
ah ha - the infamous robot ending is here today
it is. So far I only used it once though :(
yes me too - makes me strong
I saw that ending but so far havent found a use for it
Unpoofs briefly - there are two with that ending, sprite. Repoofs.
ah thanks, 2nd one found. Thanks Sally!
ah found the st7 one what does the other start with?
ar, Nanette
havent found the second one yet
thanks sprite
oh that was simple :)
my pleasure
thanks sprite
finally, one that will take longer than a few minutes
hi Ches, yes it is a puzzler, very nice
morning cheshire
hi cheshire
hi Cheshier
I always want dino to be a word but it isn't :(
purpling out the re's
I know, River, but it never stops me from trying :)
Greetings all :) Tis lunchtime here in the UK but a good morning to those for whom it is morning...or otherwise elsewhere
I found a 3rd one with that ending. as8
ty sprite!
ah yes should have seen that - thanks
good part-of-choice of the day to you too, Ches
thanks sprite
yvw
You're all very dedicated. I like this game but when I saw that one had to pay in order to have a picture and a flag I am afraid that the spirit of Ebenezer Scrooge invaded my body and sewed up the zip of my purse.
Cheshire you are not just paying for the icon and flag but the stats panels as they disappear after a 2 week trial period - and after all it is only a one off payment.
ches, I spent that $15 four years ago and it was worth every cent
it also gets u the stas at the bottom...( yes...back in the pb i know i know)
It was the picture and flag for me - it was thanking Dr God for al his hard work so we can have fun
seems longer.....
and it is a one time fee...for lifetime....worth it...and i dont play regularily
*wasnt
I wanted my flag
and yes..dr god really takes care of the site...whenever some bratty kid gets on here and starts loading up the chog with rubbish...he deals with it quite efficiently
Ah, I did not realise that.
the best $15. I have ever spent
Ches, it took me a while but I finally opened up my purse strings and paid the fee. It has been well worth it
It is worth it Cheshire if you are into the game.
well...was 20.00 cdn at the time
Hi FM!
Hi FM!
FM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I appreciate the advice. I would not like to lose the stats panel.
monster hugs for fm...miss u
Im on the phone and listening to 'hold music' so forgive me if I suddenly disappear. Hi Annie and Nono et al.
hey FM :D
Ah finally a human voice *poof*
Hi FM
morning
hi dorens
morning, dorens
finally reached the halfway mark
Hi Dorens
i really dont like this grid
hi Dorens
reading back, putting in my two cents to cheshire... this is the best $15 i ever spent.. i play it daily, have spent that much more on things that brought far less pleasure. Dr G deserves the paltry little amount, with or without stats, flags, etc.
hi non, annie, river, and ..... carlee.. long time. how have you been?
hey Dorens
surviving as per usual...ok..mostly new people on here sprite aside...posting a cute video....cus i am a proud mama
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZWxeIo JH14
hi sprite.
my daughter is 3rd from right..this ia a parady these girls came up with dor a talent show...came up with words in about 15 mins... and practised day before...performed before about 3000
hey yall
hi lexlee

pate
opps sorry
*slinking off to the PB*
its ok river i have said here countless times today...here here here here...that should bring it to an even dozen for the day
Carleekat - they did well. You must be proud.
ok that video rocked rofl (I AM CANADIAN) YAY :)
lol car
nice to see that canadian girls' talent shows are similar to ours in nj! (work in middle school... have seen countless 13, 14 year old girls on stage) but fortunately yours don't do the suggestive dancing ours d
how old are teh girls?
its cute yes??? theo tams was judging ( won canadian idol a couple years back)
they were all about 13 or 14
very cute, proud mama
it was a girl guide girl scout centenary camp
I bookmarked it for later car - I must get to work - bye for now - happy babbling all
feel free to show others if u like...we are hoping to get some attention with it as it turned out well...if u dont..that cool too
later River :)
bye bye River have a great day
and proud mama with reason
aha! i went to girl scout camp for years, wholesome atmosphere (at least it was then) bye river
trying to promote guiding etc..so if u were once a girl guide/ scout...pass it on
yay, I fianally greyed something other thant the top row :)
still is dorens.... a good copy was recorded and will be up at some point on the national site ( canada) to promote guiding...but wont have the screams...
great going Nanette
bye River
i still giggle at the olympic mittens
yay nono!!!!
I noticed the mittens Carlee but didnt realize they were the olympic mittens
its hard to tell cus was at night..but yes..they had the canadian olympic mittens for "put your mittens up"
little hockey sticks for slap shots... and tim horton cups for sipping up my timmies
post the words for us somewhere? heh
got most of them but the cheering drowns out some :)
the words are posteed there under the video u have to click on an arrow
oh, didn't see them
sorry it's early and i haven't had my timmies yet :) lol
the description under the video...has one line showing..click the arrow that points down to expend despription
wow talk about conditioning, Kalyn. You said post the words for us and I thought Oh dear god no not another troll asking for the grid words! I apologise for thinking that and I say hi :)
got it thanks :)
hah sprite
*shamefaced*
that's ok sprite <hugs> :) and hi to you :)
thanks :) *hugs back*
so yes...am a proud mama...and proud of my girls ( those girls all from my patrol )
all reason to be proud, mama carlee. They rock.
thanks... i figured you all would appreciate that :)
absolutely
now maybe you all understand why i have so much fun with my girls.... they are a great group
and it is terrific that you do that, too
have always understood that Carlee but this is definitely a good example of why
I still think you are a he4 for doing it, carlee, but yes, I can really see how much fun you must have together.
nahhhh...they make it fun
two way street
I bet they say the same about you, carlee
ANYWAY....moving on..what have i missed in 2 weeks?
good morning everyone;)
some crappy tiny grids carlee lol
hi Crossy
not so much from me, for sure. Holidays... trying to relax in the heat.
heya Crossy
hey crossy...go back and check out the vid i posted a few mins ago...and the words underneath...
u'd likely appreciate it...
ok..109 stinky little icky words to go
post the link again,i have not had my tea yet..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZWxeIo JH14
I've got 60 words left to find
nice going Ches
its my girl guide group performing for a crowd of about 3000 at a talent show
I might have to do it in two sittings because I need to go to town
it will be there when you get back, Ches. 15 hours left.
they came in second...theo tams judged ( canadian idol a couple years back)
I know...I know..but I like to do it in one go....>mewls< I can give it 15 more minutes
being second is a great achievement too. I know. I am dutch.
hahaha..true enough...that sucked about camp... we saw the semi finals..and were off the grid for finals
:D
ok..still 3 years into babble..i still miss the ar posterior words...i never ever see it
hehehe, a blind spot in more than one way
:)
very cute carlee, must be your guide troop, too bad you did not have a mic on the stage the audience howling muted much of it out
there were 2 mics
99 words to go on the grid to go...99 words on the grid...
yes was my group...
my daughter was 3rd from right
good morning / afternoon everyone!
very cute
howdy mom
thanks crossy...i am rather chuffed
hi mom
hi Mom :)
hi ((((Mom)))
(((Mom))) good morning
{{Crossy}}, {{Carlee}}, {{Sprite}} and {{Nono}} hello to all of you
{{Annie}} good morning. Is your oven up and running?
morning mom, annie and crossy
Mom check out the link Carlee posted at 8:01
howdy dorens
{{Dorens}} good mronig
spat
I will do that Nono
Mom, Yes, the repairman was here and fixed it. He is also getting me a new pull for the broiler...will look like a new stove again.
oops
yay for annies oven
hi crossy!
a broiler? now thats a thing of the past
i need to start baking again..havent had time or inclination for ages
crossy, you cannot sp4 in chat like that.
Nono, Steaks under the broiler are yummy. Do you grill instead?
best oven i had was gas and had the old broiler underneath
i grill steaks...too much mess in the oven the broiler way
yes Annie I do. My new stove does not have a seperate broiler
yes, crossy... seems those broilers got hotter than the ones today.. i have a new gas oven and broiler is on top... just not quite the same
I think the best ovens are the ones similar to the ones one grew up with. I can't bake anything in a gas oven...it all goes horribly wrong.
we used to use it for toast for our big family back in the day dorens, you could do 20 slices of toast at a time lol
Carlee, how cute.

Hiya, Pini!
I don't have enough words to clue; sorry, mkg
hiya judi ;)
* mumbling on way to PB *
its ok pini
anyone have da 5 12 first one please?
da5/12: one who escorts another to dinner.
judi, isnt that second da 5 12?
Well, it's the first da5/12 I have.
hints for the top-row T?
ti4 = color shade
doh! fish me for that. thanks pini. :)
yvw ;)
* pulling tartar sauce from shelf in PB *
hints for the 8s?
And an extra two minutes in the PB for that, Pini.
no clue, eva :(
ACK!!!
Perhaps some cocktail sauce instead?
which word???
Seafood sauce.
ooooh, didn't have that one!
tartar isnt in the grid. :P
(thought it had 2 R's in it tho?)
Nope.
Mayonaise, pickle relish and one R.
wow! and after all these years!
now im hungry for fish-n-chips. :)
hrm. according to the products on the Peapod website, it is spelled the way pini spelled it...
Maybe this spelling is for the rare beef dish?
steak tartar?
according to Enable, the babble-word is a group of Turkic people
Ta5 is defined as a "mongol" or someone from a turkish tribe.
Tartar is a sauce.
the sauce has a final "e"
As8 x 2.
the sauce is tartar. the meat is tartare. the babble word is yet different. :)
As8/45: to choke. As8/45: giant rock in space.
TY judi. :) thats NBT and NBS for me!
ta5 = potatoe (slang)
heh, you could have tartar sauce on your tartare, while eater TA6 in the company of TA6.
nice eva!!! :)
Oh, just shut up and pass the ketchup... or catsup.
ROFL!
* points Eva to PB (ea5) *
Jeesh. It's getting crowded in the PB.
doh! that was supposed to say "eating," which wouldnt have landed me there... my bad!
My GD and I are making "cupcakes bugs" today...I'll be sure to save some for the PB!
I guess if I just lurk here, I will get the whole grid from the PB.
ROFL!
need 1 more J (have: ja 4 5 6 5 6)

thanks wht, got it from the man's name
isnt satan spelled that way? wont take it.
proper noun
ok
GD's here and we're finding words together (but not for long as we need to start our adventures for the day)
man, my whole perspective of the day is totally shifted -- got to sleep in this morning + come to work 2 hours late because i am staying late to attend a reception for dear fiances work -- he works for an NIH center that has been granted institute status, which is a huge deal, and there is some reception over at the senate! oh good golly, i hope i am appropriately dressed!
that's great eva! I'm sure you're fine
congrats, Eva!
I'm sure you'll be lovely!
i asked him if it was more business-dress or cocktail attire, and he had no idea. he was all "im wearing a suit, so you should probably wear a dress." umm, cocktail dress? office dress? sundress? heh
Eva, does he have someone in his office who could find out which is appropriate for you?
Just dress like an intern, Eva.
Men: "You should wear a dress" means so little to them! :)
ain't that the truth
im wearing a navy jersey dress with a sparkly necklace and a silver link bracelet. brought heels + makeup for later, so hopefully that dresses it up enough.
Sounds fine, Eva.
you'll be fine eva
That sounds great, Eva!
i even, yknow, bathed n stuff too. ;)
good idea
im thoughtful like that. ;)
mornin' y'all
morning Gwen
Q: My GD and I just found IN4, but can't find the definition ... doesn't it have something to do with "dolphins"?
finished the top row woot!
morning gwen ;)
well done, gwen!
in4 is a monetary unit, yes?
is that the first or second, gwen?
(we're still working on the 2nd)
oh, i haven't opened clue list yet, don't know it it's 1st or 2nd. however, i just passed halfway, so opening it now
the 2nd in4 = Peruvian currency
okay, it's the 2nd in4
The first in4 = babblet = I thought associated with "dolphin"?
the monetary unit is the second in4
looking up the 1st in now . . .
the first is one of Jilli's favourite babblets
"A South American freshwater dolphin"
(from thefreedictionary.com)
Thank you!!!! Now my GD is assured I'm NOT crazy after all!!!
8-D 8-D 8-D 8-D 8-D 8-D 8-D 8-D
how old is your GD, Pini?
She'll be 10 in Sept
oh, fun age

I don't either, mixi
oh..she's a cutie!!!!
yes Pini, when I click on it - what a sweetie
sa + ** be or not.... + **se and shine
you'd have to go out and come back in to change it Pini
thanks River, great clue
sa + last to4
We measured her yesterday; she stands 4'11.5"! (about 1/2 taller than I was then!)
I just hit 'refresh'
sa6, to sit + either ** + me
fireworks
do you mark it on the wall pini???
wtg mixi!
doesn't seem to work for everyone m9
wtg mixi
she is a cutie Pini
*wonders how someone knows how tall they were at 9!?!?!?*
I sure do, m9!!!!
sweet
never knew what my height was but was always taller than all my friends
Not sure way...but I remember a phrase that has always stuck with me..."I was 4'11" in the 4th grade."
Which would be right on target for my current height (5'10")
funny pini!
Not sure WHY...
Pini, I was 5'9" but have shrunk 2" in last 10 years
How tall are you now, flosey?
oh wow!
bingo! bottom row
so now about 5'7"?
I'm not quite 5'4
yes Pini, eyeball to eyeball with daughter! - that's when I realized I had shrunk
I hate to say it, but we've got to get the cupcake bugs going...lovely conversation...back later!!!!
<<< 5'6"
wow m9...I don't remember that height at all!
hi River!

<--- not into this grid for some reason.
grid started out rice for me but stuck with 94 left
rice can be sticky peri
Hello all. Recipe for Pea Pod Soup (for Ata) and Chicken Pie (for AnnieBrook) are now in my profile.
unless you go against the grain
rice is BEST when sticky
haha ruru
LOL ruru.
down in the dumps today
*pops in* TY Jac! I have a big bag of pea pods to use up :D
((hugs)) peri.
ty Jacula\
what is with everyone??
{{{{peri}}}}
Ata -Hope you like it. Better than chucking them in the compost.
ty m9, not sure of the reason for my sadness, I usualy feel better in the summer but not now
hmmm... as my hubby says "what is the unmet expectation?"
hye Ata, how is your leg
absolutely!! will let you know :)
Peri - maybe you need to take a course of Evening Primrose tablets. They can lift one's mood.
hmm, might try that, Jacula
brb
can periwinkles take another flower?
first thing I look at when feeling like that is how I've been eating.
Ata - I only made half the amount of the soup recipe. Since my son's over in Canada at present, there's only me he4 that e4 soup. Gave half away to my Mum, along with some of the gooseberry jam, apricot curd and tutti-frutti preserve I made yesterday.
Cross polination could be interesting: periprim for example.
Hi FMitch. LOL
Hey Jacs, good to see you :)
Ha4 copied yr recepies.
Have copied yr recepies
Hope you enjoy them, FM. The pie recipe is great for using up leftover chicken.
might try some lemon balm
mm that one sound v tasty and so simpl eto do.
Hi peri.
hey FM
how kitty doing, did you take her to the vet?
oh yes I took her to the vet, cost me $450 and the meds cost me an additiona $84.50. just realized this am that I am putting way too much of the gel med in her ear :( she seems ok tho. but I will run out sooner
another vet wanted to charge me over $800 for the same tests!!
does anyone have a clue for ta5/10 ta6/18 please after the plural of road surfacing stuff
Jacs I guess you could freeze the chicken pie filling in batches (w/o the pastry)?
$800!! good heavens!
Yes, I would think so, FM.
I almost fainted when she told me that
is the first ha a normal word?
flosey - I have ta5/10 what the buds on your tongue do and the 6 is the action.
Take a ta of Jaculas pie flosey and then you will be the ta6
There are three pairs with those stats: one pair has to do with buds in your tongue; one with north and east warrior tribe; and one with pot***oes
ah, thanks FM - thought my request got lost in all the recipes
ruru - my first ha is an ha4/5 (Scottish word for 'has')
or ta5 = ta + repeat the letters + cons.
first ha6/21 ru, not normal at all to me
thank you jac
first ha is one of those with another vowel right away, and then three letters from arrest
yw flosey.
Ah, got that ha6. Thanks flosey.
ha, another vowel, and take a ***t if you're tired
OK, I'm gone Good luck all
'Bye helensgirlkid.
I really should have learnt by now not to babble on an empty stomach as one always ends up ravenous!
LOL.. I'm on my second cucumber and cream cheese sandwich.
True, FM. I shall be putting the meatballs I made earlier into the oven shortly. Will have them with spaghetti and a tomato basil sauce and garlic bread.
ooooh can I come and visit pretty please Jacs?
m9f91 - that's a coincidence! I've just made exactly that sandwich for my stepdaughter's lunchbox for school tomorrow.
FM - you'll have to get here before the ravenous ones do. LOL
and the planets align....LOL
*gets the babble jet out and gets the flight plan sorted*
You've got about an hour, FM...
no7 pls
Darn, maybe next time ;)
Sorry, peri, don't have it yet.
Hi all, how is Babbleland today?
ok, will keep looking
phew..I think I just finished the ta's
no7 = something you used to write on before computers.
peri..I'll give you the clue and you jot it down on a no7
ty FM
ty FM
Thanks FM! Fancy missing that. *slaps self*
Hi wht
any more clues otherwise I am going to go and do something creative with a chicken breast in the kitchen.
no thanks..I'm just plodding along in the te's
You go and feed yourself, FM. I can he4 your tum rumbling from he4!
okey dokey. TTFN and Happy Babbling.
I find it humorous that there is a pl for the na4,5, since it is Spanish for nothing.
Plural nothings sounds like multiplying by 0 to me.
whew! fireworks
yaa for flosey!!
Well done, flosey.
final words ri5 and 6 - words that have been in many times~
kind of like sweet nothings i think
wisper sweet na5/12,s into senorita,s ear..lol
ri5 is a rope, lariat
bfn, breakfast time
wtg flosey

Good afternoon all

Hello Mr Bob.

Ooops. Off to the PB for me
ty so much wht
What do we have for lunch in here. {poking around}
Did FM leave a creative chicken breast around here???
*Hurriedly covers home-made meatballs up*
Does anyone have the second "i" down in the last column?
nm
Meatballs????? Here in the PB - oh shucks I goofed - off to PB for me
someone said meatballs....
I think its an common io word
*puts chain and padlock around fridge*
Jacula, did you put bacon in those meatballs? They seem to have gotten crossy's interest.
*becomes super hero with 3D glasses on*
BACON MEATBALLS??
wht - no. They're pork, cheese and herbs.
*knows Jacula hid them elsewhere but wants us to think they are in the frig*
ir5 is what Jac will become if anyone touches her meatballs.
wht - my partner certainly will if he's got no dinner when he gets home.LOL
hello everybody and {{river}}
Hi (((RUBY)))
great clues in the chog, thank you all,
but I still don't have half!
I am down to 12 and struggling
I'm down to 144 and struggling too River. Hi
Hi bichon
hi bichon
Am babysitting my g'daughter Savannah today. She's now napping. What a dynamo
Hi ruby.
great name!
and Bichon.
hiya jacula
how fun for you bichon
does she have a nickname?
Yes, Savannah Banana. Or Vanna
hi all, on break for a few minutes...so tired!
fee fi fanna, savannah banana
is anybody old enough to remember The Name Game
Hello NB - why so tired?
Hi NB.
I'm old, try me. How does it go
ruby - vaguely.
you were probably a tiny child!
half!!! yay
Just been running around, River :) been here for six hours - the thought of the further six hours ahead of me fills me with despair!
that is a long day - your young you can do it
keep gritting my teeth and telling myself that ;) how are you?
I'm good - would be better if not at work - but need to fend off the bill collectors somehow - 3 more hours for me - then grocery shopping and home..
how is Keith?
does anyone have the first as 8?
Hi again, Earthlings. I changed my icon for tomorrow.
Hi, Judi!
He feels great - just waiting to hear from his Doc on when he can start living again (activity that is)
I just got an 8 by mispelling and guessing
*requisite cheek squeeze for NB*
list the friendly ghost without the c bichon
or swallow wrong, mispelled
hey, i was lurking at just the right time! (((huggles NB, gently)))
I did too ruby. Got it
ohhh no, no more cheek pinches, I'm a MAN now.
Pffth. How's the ankle, dancing queen?
(((Eva))) your nancy boy radar must be working :)
only adopted moms can do that - sorry Eva you are too young but me - I can still pinch
i have it on at all times -- never know when you may just happen to cross the pond. ;)
river -- i usually attack him more thoroughly, but we must let the ankle heal. :)
If it doesn't stop doing what it's doing, Judi, I'm gonna cut the thing off. It's displaying shades of blue, sea green and lemon yellow today...bet you're glad you asked ;)
that is such happy news, dancer!!!
lol Eva! I need to man up to use the crutches though...they hurt my delicate little hands ;)
***FIREWORKS***
amazing!
Well done, River. 5 to go he4.
I have 149 words
she hath slayed the dragon. well done, River!
why thank you ruby - lol
Sounds very colorful, NB. The bottom of my foot did that when I blew out all the ligaments. Hubby said, "OMG! You're foot is purple! I guess you really did hurt it!" UHG. Yeah, I was fake screaming when I did it, fake screaming through the X-rays and fake crutching.
just think of the upper arm muscles your building! ;)
what a fake you are - lol
Get some fashionable bike gloves to protect your hands, NB.
academy award for judi!!!
Hello...
Hello Jellen - how are you today?
hello jellen, how are you doing?
Hello Jellen.
LOL Judi, you drama queen. How did you manage to do that, though? I only tore one little ligament and that's bad enough.
I'd like to thank the Academy... but most of all, the pharmaceutical companies for the pain killers.
Jac! Haven't seen you in ages!
aaaah opiates -- almost a phantom.....
I'm going well...slept in a little too late...should be getting ready for a meeting...
buts its sister drug is here ruby
yup
I thought about gloves, but in this weather...bleh. Have put socks over the hand-bits of the crutches instead. 'Cause, you know, I wouldn't want to look STUPID.
and in the cosmos
I'm still not sure. I just stepped off of the landing down into my garage and POW. Next thing I know, I was rolling around on the garage floor, cursing and crying. I had to crawl back into the house to use the phone.
I know Eva, wait till my ankle heals, I'll be coming back here all macho and showin' off ma guns...
maybe you need some st7 to help grow big strong muscles
*guffaw* socks *snort*
then all the cuties will ad*** you
Agh! Must have been some weird ankle, or else a sudden serious betrayal from whatever forces are supposed to keep ligaments in place.
ty for those, river
FIREWORKS!:-)
All the cuties already ad*** me...winking at Eva.
yay jac!
It was actually the ligaments along the bottom of my foot - all along the arch.
congrats jacula
WTG Jac!!!
right, back to work! gotta "swing those hips to get those tips", as someone here said once. Later!
YAY, JAC!!!!!
it hurts just to think of that judi
*envisioning NB with guns*
bye NB
Later, NB!
ouch Judi
*semi-reappears* next time, instead of saying 'back to work', I'll simply report that a dozen or so burly men are requesting my attention. Still true but less soul-destroying ;) *vanishes*
Could I have a hint for the t in the top row, please?
ti4 color
Oh, how silly of me! Thanks, ruby!
nbt
it took your asking for me to find it lol
brb
best word: ja6/36 kind of rock
wish I could say there were a dozen or so burly men requesting my attention *sigh* alas I must get back to work
tg there are no burly men around he**; it's too hot!
Later, River...
bye dancer
Sorry, had to go and see to dinner. I'd better go and keep an eye on it now. Passata- based sauce can be very gloopy when cooking!
163 and gd night all, just too hot and have to water the garden
*poof*
((Ruby))
*POOF*
Firewoids!!!
did you know that if you use the stumble upon program and it randomly chooses babble, the stumbled upon version will display your current word list accurately? lol
, thinking my computer had fainted, due to the heat -- but no, Judi killed the chog. Thanks to Crossy for resuscitation.
What's the stumble on program?
hi alls :)
howdy jes
just google stumble upon christine..be warned,it is addictive
Pretty Punkin, jes
thanks. he needs a home!
off i go for now to pull quills out of a dog. back in a bit :)
bad puppy
thanks, Crossy - I shall look into that.
I hope the cat finds a good home, very soon.
Oh Lord, there's a $30,000 mattress on the television news. This is news??
back again
that mattress better be surrounded by a house for that price lol
In So.Cal, it would be a kitchen, only.
lol,no,the news is the frame is extra!! lol!
thought for the day...."I liked literature, except for the poetry part, and history involved a certain discipline and organization that I'd always found to be elusive," he recalled. "So that left philosophy, which didn't have a lot of facts or results to keep straight. As Hume puts it, any chain of reasoning more than three steps long can be ignored, so I became a philosopher and have been happy ever since."
Another thing that amazes me is there are people who 'try out' the bed, and then buy it (over a hundred at one store, in just under two years) - the lie on the bed for five minutes, then plunk dow their money. Wouldn't you need to sleep on the mattress, to know it's a fit?
i would need to move into the display room for ayear i am thinking
Thought for the day from whom?
from some university prof who shall remain nameless
I like it.
it does have a certain something...
does not matter from who anyways.remember, there are only 7 original ideas, all the rest is just various forms of plagiarism lol
7 original ideas, 7 deadly sins... coincidence? discuss...
for example, you may find d 1000 books that all have a scene of a person driving a car over a cliff each book can be copyrighted because of author 'parsley" that the scribe surrounds it with to make it his own;)
there are also 7 sacraments and 7 cardinal virtues
7 days of the week...
*pops head in* I thought there was only one sin ;) and there is, if you think about it.
7 dwarves
hi nancy boy :)
LOL Jes!
school reports for example, are nothing but looking up fact,s digesting them, and disgorging them with your own flair
nb;))
mmm 7 dwarves...wonder if they draw straws at night lol
(((snuggles NB)))
well, if you think about it, it's stealing! if you kill someone you steal their life; if you lie you steal someone's right to the truth...and on, and on!
what does pride steal?
everyone else's good time ;)
and on and on and on till we weave a web of truth and lies that cannot be seperated and in the end it matters not because we are just a grain of sand on some intergalactic beach
Still around, Eva! I thought you had a wedding or something to that effect?
that's stretching...
mm..crossy needs his meds...
this evening, that is. I know you're having one in a few months ;)
hah, im at work, silly.
Well Jes, that's why I'm a bartender and not a philosopher ;)
not even 3:30 here
the two are not mutually exclusive...
lol,i can trip the light fantastic till the question itself is a mystery nb:))
normally i roll out at 3:30, but i cam in late so i could stay late. will leave here in about an hour + a half...
but the answer is still 42, even when the question is a mystery, crossy
of course it is 42
we all know that..sheesh!
hah, oh dear. just did one last check of our wedding registries before we make them public to our friends and family (though a few people already know where they are) and i see that one item has already been purchased -- and dear fiance will be very, very happy -- it is his keggerator.
the answer to life....
the universe....
and everything...
and everything :)
:)
Lol Eva! Nothing says 'just married' like a frosty beer ;)
much like all of the toys, posters, and comic paraphernalia that he put on the amazon.com registry. *facepalm*
nothing says just married like not being able to go for a frosty beer lol
he didnt seem to get the memo that it is a wedding registry, not a "everything chris has ever wanted in his life" registry...
yaa for a keggerator!!
Hi All! Hi Eva! I was thinking of you this weekend at the wedding I went to! Some really cool ideas!
such as?? :)
LOL Crossy!
see, with a keggerator ,he will never leave the house;)
My Mum always said
half way. calling on lickety for backup :)
They were married by the ocean, so they had a starfish motif throughout...but not obnoxiously so...but their place cards were in a sandbox and had a starfish on them. The card had the name and table number on it and said "Please be Seeded" on it. The starfish on the place card was made from seed paper and it is plantable!
though..bringing the empties back to the beer store is harder lol
The other thing I loved...instead of a box to put cards in for the bride & groom...it was a crafty lobster pot!!!!!
hey, crossy, HE scanned it, not me! so clearly, he must not WANT to leave the house. ;)
very cute!
you will always know where he is at at leeast
i love when themes are subtle, yet consistent
The program at the wedding was also very different...layered pieces of velum on a piece of coordinating paper..tied just at the top with a thin ribbon bow.
Oops, just noticed NB's post @ 2:18pm
I was VERY impressed with the small details throughout. Also, something they did to save money, the reception place had a "fake cake" decorated to match their theme. They took pictures "cutting the cake" but then another, less expensive cake, was cut in the kitchen and served to guests.
NB, you're not old enough to have knowm my Mum, but I think you have the same ideas.
the "downside" to this keggerator (if you want to call it that) is that it only works with the Heineken mini-keg. so heineken for everyone!
ohh,a small one,too bad....we have a company here that uses the old round top fridges and makes full size keggerators out of them;))
Sorry, phone had a tizzy. Well Christine, I may as well get along with -someone's- mum ;)
Eva, that's good!! Heineken is the only vegan beer I'm aware of.
though heineken is nice...
all the other beer has meat?????
yeah, it had to be a wee one, otherwise i may have overruled him... we really dont have the space for that kinda thing, but his eyes lit up when he saw it. (much like mine did at the thought of potentially getting a kitchenaid mixer!)
may switch to wine in that case...
ooh, educate me, NB! i never knew beer wasnt vegan... whats in it thats not vegan?
my wife would rip out my beating heart and eat it if i got her any kitchen ware as a gift....
Isinglass - it's in lots of wines, too. It's made from fish bladders. Nummy nummy num!
remember to check out what they use for fertilizer on those crops nb:))
generally, kitchenware isnt a great gift. however, i would love ALL new kitchen stuff right now. so we registered for everything -- pots + pans, dishes, gadgets, appliances...
Though, I'm not a fan of beer anyway, so makes no odds to me ;)
interesting, i never knew that! so, when i was in college + helped coordinate a vegan thanksgiving dinner, my friend, who made beer bread, may have potentially brought a non-vegan dish!
Well Jesse is my name; useless trivia is my game ;)
one day read whats in all the cosmetics lol
heh, if you need useless music trivia (80s and 90s), im your gal!
name stealer
here you go my vegan friends.... http://beauty-products.suite101.com/ar ticle.cfm/animal_derivatives_in_cosmet ics
Lol Jes, blame my parents ;)
mmmm..... sweet potato chips...
mmmm..crossy loves sweet taters...
Not to worry Crossy, all my cosmetics (oh dear) are perfectly animal-friendly.
lol,then it is all good
cosmetics? hahahahahaaahaahaahaaha! it would be utterly pointless for me to wear makeup--way too often i have been licked and slobbered on before 9am :P
silly puppies
naughty puppies
ingredients: sweet potatoes, peanut oil and/or high monosaturated sunfower oil, salt. not too bad...
i do my own in virgin cold pressed olive oils and a dash of sea salt..yummers
*whispers* for my fellow asians, white eyeliner on your waterline will open the eyes up!
ive tried a few times to make my own, but they never quite crisped up...
oh damn. i think i just figured out who my 1:00 appointment is. *headdesk*
do not use the extra virgin oil,as it has a low smoke point eva,use the stahdard virgin oils and you will be able to get the temp up
that bad, Jes?
the good thing about *headdesk* is that it burns 96 calories per hour while you are doing it and it feels real good when you stop;)
they were told by a different veterinarian 3 years ago that the dog had severe hip problem and would need surgery.
they came to me and told me something entirely different than what the referral records said
i told them that the dog had a severe hip problem and would probably need surgery.
and now it has gotten so bad due to lack of timely care....
now they're back (this is the first time i've seen them since, but they may have gone elsewhere since)
and say that the limp is (SURPRISE!) worse.
lab?
no, little terrier. not dysplasia, trauma related.
*nuzles NB*
oh, good. they switched appointments :) bossdoc gets to deal with that one, i get a check lump instead....
have fun, off i go to pretend that i know what i'm doing!
hello...

and fireworks with a lot of help from resources lol
actually, one of them does nothing
congratulations katie ;)
wtg katie!!!!
Hooray for Katie!
.... and the other one?
I've probably un-nerved my hubby by doing housework tonight. He is still getting his head round my new found enthusiasm for gardening!
I have started my 12 year old son on a float of $5...if I have to get after him about NOT doing things, he loses a specific amount (depending on what he forgot)...if he does EXTRA chores, he get a bonus (depending on the size of the chore)
and katie's turning into a stepford wife, scarey, lol
fireflies and have to run hagn
the other one does things but complains constantly, the sad thing is it is her baby and her boyfriend who make the mess
Hello...
argh...st's!
hi jellen
Hi Jellen!!! :) How is Tim?
He's okay...
would love to get out into the garden but non-stop rain for the last week has turned it into a bog - still, glad not flooded like several areas round here today
how is the chemo going?
and how are YOU?
hello, babblers!
hi welki!
Hi welki!
Just had one session so far...
Hi, welki
Hello all, trying to focus today but want to wish everyone well. If wishes were horses, we'd all be riders.
I'm good...
if wishes were horses mine would have bolted
(this is for crossy) ... and if pigs had wings, bacon would fly :)
last st 6 please?
st*** throat
that's a 5
last st6 = to st**** to see something
sorry, must be the st**** on my brain
lol jacq
oh! doh!.. I was sure I'd already typed that!! ty!
lol i have totally lost focus
me too jacq....i still have 100 left
i have 77, have only managed to find 5 in 30 minutes
i have the as8....may i ask a clue for the other 8?
135 here - not a hope of finishing as we are nearing the witching hour and I must go to bed
2 as8.45 - ist one builds on as5.12, means to make a voice hoarse
deletes my longwinded version of that simple clue
bed before midnight... sounds good
i don't have the as5/12 either. :(
ty lynx, do you have a clue for the other please
An autumn flower
as5.12 like cAS*** the friendly ghost

..the friendliest ghost you know :)
hello, what't the verdict on this one?
not boring chrissie, sensible
guilty of being rather large
thank you Welki and lynxxx
it's easy enough for the first 200
the other as8 flys through the sky and has a robot end
ty again lynx
ohh, don't thank me, i was just singing along with lynxxx
pretty easy TOwl
i can still only find estonia
must be the wee scotch (not you jac) I have just finished, but not finding it particularly easy here
me, i see janitor
oh jac! look away from the grid for a minute..then look back
LOL
i se astoria now
