When a man is tired of London, he's tired of life.
halfway
Well I am also - a Londoner, in fact.
Not so, Christine - I'm full of life. I just prefer cleaner air and less noise on a day-to-day basis.
omg... i found both 8 words within the first 25 mins and no clues
Somewhere nicer for dogs, etc.
good job une
I can understand that JC.
so proud of myself lol
I still love London and go there quite a bit - have to.
i want to go to london, meet prince william, convert him, and then become queen of england
If I could bring L.A.'s weather, I move back to London - well, not today's weather, raining on'n'off for a week.
cos you would become king you are a guy lol
Queen Cos? luv it.

i insist on being the queen :)
LOL @ Cos, have fun trying...
We were in Birmingham last night, coming home from the Dr Who Live show. I was saying how my son can't understand a couple of his old schoolfriends who have a flat in the middle of the city because they love the hustle and bustle.

hello everyone :) -- are skorts so far back in my memory that everyone has forgotten them?
as 6 x 3
hey nan... I already brought up the outrageous lack of skorts in the grid! it's disgraceful.
Lands' Ends still shows skorts in their summer catalogue.
googling skorts gets lots of hits
I thought a fr5er would be one who ices a cake!
me too
jilli - 5 extra? Ill be sure to look oout for them should I list at any point.
i thought just one extra.
No, I was wrong -- only one extra -- Lickety says 250 and the grid says 249.
I had found 4 words and looked at the wrong place (I just got here)

70 left here.
Hello everyone
Hi lynxxx.
ok. 42 left. I'm gone. *poof*
hi everyone
Hi Jac...how is the healing going?
Slowly but surely, lynxxx. Crutches not needed now but a stick for any distance, unless I can lean on my Old Lady 4-wheeled shopping trolley.:-(
Hi Josh.
Good news - bet the armpits are glad to see the last of the crutches too
No armpits involved, they were the elbow and wrist crutches. I had to put our knee bandage on the right hand handle of the crutch because it was killing my hand.
I now a have a small but painful nodule just below my right hand little finger. I assume it's through having to compensate for my left side, which is my dominant side.
crazy isn't it - all from a simple fall
Yup! But even from a simple small bone break, if you don't notice it, and it leaks, can lead to death. EEK!
just a question...anyone heard of mitral valve prolapse???
no, but i can't imagine any prolapse being a good thing
tHAT'S WAT MY SON TOLD ME FROM WATCHING 'hOUSE'. hOWEVER, WHEN i BROKE MY TOE, i did NOTICE STRAIGHTAWAY AND WAS SO HORRIFIED BY THE ANGLE MY TOE WAS AT THAT i RE-SET IT IMMEDIATELY.
what on earth leaks - or should I remain blissfully medically ignorant?
Sorry for shouting. caps lock got stuck.
hi DizGrannie, I haven't heard of that either.
josh, its what my g/dtr has just been diagnosed with - tis not life threatening - just wanted other peeps input
lynxx - bone juice (marrow??) - don't rally know.
firweorks
I think I brought my toe in my 20s , didn't hurt or bother me for a long time...but now aches
the mitral valve is in the heart - hers doesn't shut properly and blood leaks back thro to the other side of heart
or should I say - fireworks
surprising that something relating to the heart prolapsing is not life threatening, that is good news
what are they going to do about it?
DizGrannie - I have an idea that that is what was wrong with Riverdances son
congrats Anike
Josh, nothing as is very minor, just wondered if there was anyone else out there with the prob
interesting. i have learned something new today
MV disease is not normally life threatening, but the person suffering from it should listen to all advice given by senior medical staff.
GJ Anike
TY. I'm off now - happy babbling
DizGrannie, No, I was wrong, not what Riverdances son had -different heart complaint
g/dtr has been told to carry on as normal - shes 10
anyway, be back later, dinner to do.
Back after a te-and-book break -- tonight I'm reading "Some Girls", by Jillian Lauren, about her life in a harem

hi Christine, sounds interesting

The younger brotherf of the Sultan of Brunei - Prince Jefri. I saw her on a morning talk show, a few months ago.
Congratulations, Flosey --- yay for you!!!

now must get to bed, busy day tomorrow
unless I can help with any clues?
not for me thanks Flosey
ok, goodnight all
love the riots in France protesting the raising of retirement age to 62
When I retired, in 2001 it was 65years ( I retired six months early) now it's upped to 73 for people of my daughters age. She's now 4.6
At what age can you retire in Australia?
100 words, nbt, nbs, and bedtime. (I've been buried in the grid, sorry)
I hope to be able to get back to this tomorrow -- looks like a fun one...
nobody here? Well, *poof*
Jill?
night, Jillibus, sleep well.
Ain't nobody here but us chickens, JC
No JC ... musta bin the wind in th' tumbleweeds
Greetings babblers (if there are any out there).
Terrible waking dream: I was the only one alive in Babbleland
lol you are not alone :)
thank goodness, it
it's scary out in the dark.
*there there it's OK now* and I am sure some other will be along soon.
About 40years ago, I saw a televisio show about an astronaut who was left on a dying planet(?) the only one out there, and I remember thinking that would be the worst thing ... well, duh!
I was out in the garden v early this morning and it was so dark but the stars were incredible.
Are you away from a large town?
Yes I am, so very little residual light.
Move up, ladies, I'm here as well.
Good morning Haz!
Los Angeles, like most large towns, is never dark enough to see many stars, but go out to the desert, and you'd swear you could reach out and touch them.
Good morning - it's COLD!
plenty of room on the sofa infront of the open fire as it is v chilly!
Hello, Haz. It's raining here, has been (on-and-off) for almost a week.
I'd say winter has definitely arrived. You can cling onto summer for only so long, unfortunately.
summer clothes back in the wardrobe 'til next season then *le sigh*
Good evening everyone!
(wondering if FM should go to the PB for so4)
Looking for ra4/4 any ideas?
ra plus a couple of vowels
yup I should Haz ... pootle into the PB. Hi jib.
Or first three letters of what falls from the sky (moisture) ending in a vowel.
and don't forget to pl it.
I remember that when I was a child, we had coal or coke fires. Best of times was a rainy day, when you had no reason to leave the house, playing on the rug in front of the fire, waking in a darkened room, with the coals glowing red, and looking for castles or faces in the coals. Poor little children of today, they'll never know about that.
And then remember it for again because it appears often, jibi.
Oh yes Christine I remember that too. An open fire is just so comforting.
Did you get a frost this morning Haz?
Ah yes, but then you weren't fetching the coal or clearing away the ashes, Christine. However, I agree that a fire is very comforting, just a lot of work.
Thanks a lot Haz!
You're welcome, jibi.
If there was a frost it must have cleared very early, there's certainly no sign of it any more.
It is worth the work, I was my job from an early age to clean the grate and as I grew up Dad taught me to chop logs, loved it.
We must call you Cinders from now on.
Started with a small hand axe chopping kindling but still remember the day he said I could use the big axe on a log for the first time.
What age were you?
Cinders Ermintrude has a certain cachet about it I guess :)
Absolutely, it's unique.
with the big axe? probably about 12.
They must have been happy that you wouldn't run amok in the neighbourhood. Someone with the name 'Cinders Ermintrude' would have had a hard time in prison.
chilkdhood memories, we didn't notice our Mum was working 23 hours a day, just that everything was how it should be, for our comfort. Selfish little beasts, but it made your Mum happy.
ROFL Haz
Chop a way out, Cinders -- would they let you keep your axe? I'm not sure of the rules governing personal possessions.
FM would have found a way.
And I agree, Christine, I think it's only when you're older that you truly appreciate the work that went into raising you.
A nice Victoria Sponge, concealing an axe.
I am sure Mum was terrified at some of the things Dad let me try but he tought me how to use a drill and be self sufficient in basic DIY things and he let me drive a car for the first time at about 8.
LOL Christine that would have to be one BIG cake!
Driving at 8? Well, at least you were prepared to make a swift getaway if any of your axe exploits had gone too far.
We had a caravan on Canvey Island, where we spent almost the whole school holiday. My sisters and I ran about all day, coming back to eat and sleep. It was years later that I realised my Mother was cooking three meals a day, cleaning up after us, and never sitting outside - just like home.
It's amazing how the secrets are tumbling out this morning.
My Dad was brill unfortunately he died when I was 17.
Too young to lose your dad. Mine died when I was 21 so I can sympathise.
You're never old enough to lose your parents. Is your Mother still with you?
Lovely memories there Christine - summers spent on the beach.
Yes Mum is ticking along although she and my step dad both admit that if it weren't for modern medicine they would both be gone.
My sister and I were reminiscing, about going to Nottingham to get away from the raids. We, with my Mother, stayed with my Father's sister and her family ... and we remembered walking alon, balancing on the railroad lines - I was four, she was three, and our older cousins who were supposed to look after us, were the ones that taught us the secret of 'walking a tightrop'. My parents, and theirs, would've scalped them.
Cripes I be they would have Christine!
*cripes* now where did that come from I feel like I have just quoted from a Bunty comic!
So, we have Christine dicing death on the railway, FM wielding an axe. It's a wonder you're both here.
I lost my Father in 2007 and my Mother in 1996. Although they were so far away, I knew they would always be ther, but life happens.
or an Enid Blyton book
and what can you offer us in the dicing with death stakes Haz?
I remember the scales falling from my eyes when I realised that Enid Blyton used far too many ! in her books.
I nearly drowned when I was 8!
eeek, what happened?
You want details?
Enid Blyton's Five go Adventuring, from which I learned the art of writing with invisible ink, and getting out of a locked room.
*makes mental note that Christine is a handy person to have around when needing to escape from anywhere*
yay found a word for the first time in the last 20 mins - foundations wear and pl :)
We were on holiday, went to a local swimming pool, my mum spectated while my sister and I joined my dad in the pool. I had got ready early, came out and saw the poolside with 8 - 12 on the side. I thought it was your age, not the depth. I was sitting by the side of the pool, a nasty boy pushed me in and I sank. I can still remember opening my eyes and seeing people's legs waving in the water. Fortunately someone saw what was happening and fished me out. NOT a pleasant experience and I had swallowed half the pool.
Heavens, thank goodness for that someone!
It left me with a lifelong fear of the water. I've tried to learn to swim but hyperventilating and turning to jelly doesn't make it a pleasurable experience.
Thus, like my mother, I spectate while others swim.
r
You always need someone to mind the coats and picnic baskets. I am that someone.
lol that goes back to the roller coaster convo the other day - I am the one that minds coats there.
Wow, how scary. When I was a kid, I was very sickly, couldn't go out for gym or games, but one time they needed one person to play a victim when the class was getting some kind of lifesaving instruction. After the class, everyone swam to the sides, leaving me (the nonswimmer) in the middle of the pool. I was soooo certain they'd all gone back to school without me - but they had forgotten I can't swim.
I know, why risk life and limb unnecessarily?
If these things happened nowadays, we'd be suing all and sundry.
I could have been Rebecca Adlington but for that mishap. My Olympic dreams were rendered null and void. Would that argument get me anywhere, do you think?
BRB need one more mug of tea.
I'd saay find the boy and sue him, his parents, children & grandchildren and the owners of the pool.
If only I'd taken better note of what he looked like.
morning all
He'll have gone one of two ways. He'll either be racked with remorse and trying to make it up to his family by being a model father and grandfather, or, more likely, he'll have spent most of his life in jail having displayed murderous tendencies at an early age.
Good morning, sprite.
People sue over almost anything, it seems. A man in prison in US, sued the prison because his toothbrush was misplaced when he changed cells - this though he received a new toothbrush immediately, and gets a new one every three months so it
it's not as though he had childhood memories of this brush.
Morning sprite
Did his claim succeed?
One of the more ridiculous claims I heard of was when a father sued the hospital for not letting him film every moment of his wife giving birth. She had to have an emergency C-section, the midwife asked him to stop filming and he claimed this breached the agreement he had for artistic rights and the need to have every moment of his child's life on film. The judge (Irish) told him to have a bit of sense and threw the case out.
Probably not. They're trying to put an end to the nuisance claims. One man in prison has sued everone in sight, and out of sight, including the space program, the planet Pluto -- give 'em something to do in priaon, and they wont have time to mess around. But then you run the risk of denying legitimate claims.
I think lawyers have a resonsibility to say to the nuisance people that they're mad. The same way plastic surgeons should tell some people 'enough is enough'. Common sense is priceless, but of course doing work for people brings in cash.
Morning spritey sprite
hi FM, Haz, Christine
Hope this cold but sunny morning finds you well sprite?
Have you had any fr5/16 today, sprite? There's a definite chill in the air here.
not quite, but very close. We have icy rain now.
Icy rain isn't nice, there are no redeeming features.
icy rain yuck.
exactly. Terra and I were both chilled after our walk. But much better now, in this nice warm house.
... and the clocks go back soon - that to me is the indicator that winter is soon to arrive.
Watch out for the alpine wind.
Aparently the fact that Siberian geese have landed in the UK already is an indicator that we will have a very hard winter *oh joy*
Apparently the Buick swans have arrived early in this country so they're predicting another cold winter.
I like the clock change this time of year. As opposed to the one in Spring, which I fervently despise.
lol snap Haz
FM and I have been watching the same news reports.
*meant swans not geese but got carried away as usual.
The advantage of a really cold winter seems to be incredibly good fruit later on. Apple trees are laden.
I must buy a shovel this year incase of a repeat of the snow of last year.
True Haz, my crab apple tree has been laden but I have left the fruit on there for the birds.
I know, remember the dramas last January.
In W.Sussex the council has already done bad weather tests and scenarios. Just hope they have more grit/salt than last year.
We have a salt mine near Carrickfergus which was stretched to the limit last year in trying to get enough produced to satisfy demand. I once knew their sales rep who liked to introduce himself as a salt seller.
lol
Hello
hi lady
Evening herin.
Hello, herin.
BRB phone.
How goes it? hello Sprite
chilly and a bit flu-ey, otherwise ok. And how are you?
Hi Haz Hi FM
I had a test, I had a huge sleep last night and then I was annoying all day. I had my friends looking at me oddly because I was eating a salad
ah well, they know you longer than today
Haz, is that the salt mine where y'all toil to pay my lavish compensation?
The very one.
And you thought I was joking.
Why is it you say salt mine I think salt lick
your salad was too bland?
If you google Kilroot salt you'll find it.
There's even a video clip from the BBC if you scroll down enough.
The BBC really does cover everything :)
I never eat salad
But today ??
you did today
FM: with salt?
LOL
and a touch of garlic and pepper :)
ah, garlic and pepper, yummmm
then maybe a few croutons and some crispy bacon ... ...
your love is waving at you again today, FM
eek Im turning into crossy! Yes sprite I thought of him when I found the word :)
since you told me, the word reminds me of you :)
Good evening friends and sister. I have just read the comments about winter - ha ha we are gokng into our summer here. But do you remember Christine the signs in the London Underground. Various sayings and quotations - the one that sticks with me is from Percy Byshe Shelley that said "if winter comes can spring be far behind?"
*grin*
FMcrossy. It is interesting.
Oh good quote jhb.
hi jhb, nice quote.
I'm going to take a five minute break but I'll be back shortly. It's nice to have a grid with a bit more oomph, isn't it?
I wonder what it would be like to follow summer or spring around the world? Would one get bored with it and crave the change of seasons?
TTFN Haz
Absolutely. Very much enjoying it. And will be back very shortly too, need some kind of breakfast.
never, FM, because you'd be in different areas all the time
Hi FMitch. I did just that for 3 years after my husband died. I had summer here then in the northern hemisphere and then back here. It was good except that I never seemed to be in sinc with my friends. They had all been doing things while I was on the other side of the world.
I think'd be wonderful - just like living in So.Cal.
mmm good point jhb but I have to admit as much as I gripe about the weather I wouldn't live permanently anywhere else than the UK.
rockent
oops - at the making up word stage. Sorry
Great to visit other places but my heart is always in England.
judith, I was telling them about walking on the train tracks in Bullwell, with Rita and SheilaB.
Oppsy I got distracted. Was helping friend
back with breakfast
Bon apetit spritey.
oh darling - I missed that. I have been entertaining a very upset friend. Problems with her kids. So while she went to have her hair done earlier, I looked after her dog. Can you imagine an Afghan hound with my tibetan Spaniel? Talk about the sublime to the ridiculous. Any way she felt better after having her hair done and a bowl of my world famous soup.
thanks :)
soup. I'd kill for soup.
Did you ever complete the Soup Book for the charity event, or was it shelved?
oh world famous soup??? Love making soup - do tell.
The book was completed but then the publisher went belly up and so the project is still sitting in my computer. Will get to it someday.
yesss over the halfway mark
Sprite, don't say kill - FMitch has a concealed axe.
in a BIG cake cooked by Christine :)
Amd FMitch - my children will tell you that their mother can make soup from an onion and a potato. I can actually do a lot better than that. And brag time - I started the Great NZ Soup Kitchen Restaurant with a friend many years ago.
uh-oh, FM on bacon hunt again
Can't go wrong with soup. Do you remember Lyons Corner house, we'd have tomato soup, roll and butter.
Yes but wasn't the soup made with powdered soup. I can still taste that.
Wow now that is a blast from the past - I remember Lyons Corner Houses and their vanilla ice cream.
I don't know, but when Vanessa was small, I took her there, and she still remembers it.
But Christine - what about the little Italian restaurants in Soho where we would go for lunch when we worked close by.
we just had pumpkin soup. I love pumpkin soup.
That was where I first had Minestrone soup. We thought we were so so sophisticated.
And, FMitch, the nippies in their black dresses and white aprons.
Hi Sprite. Do you do pumpkin with blue cheese?
nippies?
lol I need to get my eyes tested as I read that word wrong
Nippies were the waitresses. Why were they called that Christine?
I have several recipes, but none with blue cheese. Sounds good though.
same here, FM :)
When we were kids, people didn't eat out as often. I doubt my grandparents ever went to a restaurant, but my Mother always took us to Lyons in Leicester Sqare (?), after a visit to the dentist.
You just put the blue chees in a piece just as you serve the soup. Makes a totally different soup.
oh cool! Just like a drollop of cream.
Yes exactly.
will try that next time, jhb, thanks
I must tear myself away as much as it pains me as the chat hs been the best for ages. But I shall return :) after work emails and errands have been done.
*hugs* FM, good luck with the chores.
Bye FM
Judith, I think for their fast service - I'll google it.
Bye FMitch.
By FMitch. I too must go. The chat is better than the grid, but now have to clear up after dinner. Friend has gone home happier I hope than when she arrived. G'ightall. And Christine - just saw your message. Let me know.
bye jhb
By luv. I'll email you after I get through to Marianne.
Back soon - need hot tea.
Well I just found the 8s
well done lady
THat was easier than I though. i will get back to you when I find the 51 6's sigh
I want to binge and there is nothing in the cupboards here.
I am eating pizza. I want to lie down
And my blood sister is in Afghanistan :(
am seriously considering braving the cold and getting myself a treat.
I think I have to raid the deep freeze if I want something
I was super annoying today due to sleep
and now the doubting phase starts. Shall I go out in the cold and get something..... or shall I stay in where it is warm and do without....
stay inside sprite, it is far too cold out there.
sunggle up in blankets.
it really is, isn't it red!
Sprite have you heard of Mug Cake?
it is. get a tea, you dont really want to eat a bunch of junk anyway.
never. What is that?
well.... yes I do, red, but I know it isn't wise.
http://tinyurl.com/l54xpo
Here BUT you don't need to use choc chips I do though
you want to stay lovely and warm...
Hi Red
hi herin.
Like I wanted to when the dog woke me this morning.
Hi Fmitch and Christine. Just had to come back. Was in kitchen tidying up and had this flashback. Eastman's Dental clinic and the awful rubber aprons they put on one if they were taking out teeth. Nightmare memories.
Hi JHB
lol that is fun, lady. We don't have a microwave or I would have tried that.
that is awful jhb.
argh jhb
Um what else can I think off. Do you ahve those ingrediants?
yes, except for the choc chips
And we wonder why people of my generation hate the dentists.
What time is it?
am very scared of them too, jhb
it is 11.40 am here
Where are you in this world Sprite?
Make a cake
Make a cake
in the Netherlands, jhb
It's 10.40pm here in NZ and whoever suggested making a cake?
JHB try the Mug Cake
What is that? I thought it was a typo for mud cake.
not enough butter for a whole cake, but I think I have a small baking errrrr container (?) somewhere. Good idea, lady.
also afraid of dentists, though I am of a different generation, we never had a rubber aproned dentist.
It's 5:41 here....cake would be alright but I have to try running again in a bit.
check out the link, jhb, it is fun: http://tinyurl.com/l54xpo
No the dentist didn't wear the rubber apron. The victims did.
Thanks Sprite. Will do. Now should really go back to kitchen but this is so much more fun
No Mug Cake
Oh, we never wore a rubber apron either. just those stupid little paper things, like the size of a plcemat, btu I never had a tooth pulled either.
How much Butter do you have?
yet!
about 4 spoons full
Let me see
Oh sprite, make some lovely toast, butter it and melt some sort of sugar on top. I always love that.
Sprite - I did check it out and will certainly try it. I know my grandsons will enjoy making it themselves. Then I really will have to clean up the kitchen after they finish.
hmmmmm that sounds good too.
lol yes jhb, but fun!
Oh Sprite - that is a good suggestion from redturtlehead. Try some Golden syrup or treacle. That will really set the taste buds off.
yes and my original goal was to steer sprite away from eating junk, oops.
SpriteL http://tinyurl.com/knha2n This is my favourite recipe
you guys are saviours. Thanks!
This is the worlds most awesomeest pudding. Left a day it is better
looks lovely too
Aren't friends here to help each other? When someone needs some junk lets help her.
Ok, I am off to try to get dressed and run. very un motivated, but we will see....
well, jnb, thats one way to look at it.
it is really helping, and much better suggestions than eating loads of junk.
I didn't say it wasn't healthy (you just need to look at it from another point of view). It is healthy because it is home made and the calories fall out when you cut it
Good night guys. The kitchen calls and then bed. Back tomorrow.
Night JHB
night jhb, sleep well
roflollll good one, lady
Love the idea that the calories fall out when you cut the cake. I will remember that in future.
have a good day, red *hugs*
It is true. When you make food they never have a cal count (That is what I think)
a great rule to live by
only live once
Have you seen teh fantastic site Newdressaday
I'm off, too. Goodnight Judith and everyone else. See you tomorrow.
Night Christine
bye Christine!
no, what is it, lady?
Herinfernallady - also bear in mind, calories [calories/color] add color, so stick to ice cream, angel food cake,
I like that Christine and it is Herin to save your fingers
It is a website were a lady has made a dress a day recycling $1 dress every day
http://www.newdressaday.com/ when you get a chance
wow, creative lady
SHe is. And I am going to go find some of my train wrecks that I have and make a skirt
And I'm back. I read that $1 dress as being 51 dresses and couldn't believe her efficiency.
wb Haz
Hi Haz
I'll try to remember but I'm really obsessive about abbreviations.
Haz all the remands are recycled too. It is Ok Christine
I swear I am going to force feed these cats of mine charcoal if they don't stop farting
My younger daughter had a handbag made for her using leather from a much loved pair of boots. I couldn't believe how creative the lady had been.
I like that idea
I must see if I can find a link - it was featured on her website for a while as an example of what can be done.
vowelless word alert
One of the girls in my class today was wearing this skirt that was similar to one of my 90's dresses with a white top attached it was very pretty
But as the weather is heating up I am going to make this skirt
Daughter's bag isn't featured any more, but the website is www.dazeddorothy.co.uk The handbags are delicious.
I love the thought of Upcycling
Yes, you end up with something better than what you had.
very good ideas
It has to be done by experts though. In my hands it would be a different story.
brb
that bad, Haz?
Worse.
lol
fireflies. Not too hard and lots of fun.
Congratulations!
thank you :) I am gonna cuddle up with terra for a while. Have a good day/night, all.
Have a good day, sprite.
bye SPrite
Iam going for a while too
See you later, herin.
Laters
pf
this is the first time I can't see the stats panel. Do you all pay to play?
yes it's a one time fee
$14.95 and you get to play forever
is that the only way to get the stats panel
after your free time expires, yes
You can still play, it's just that you don't have the stats to help.
ok
Afternoon :)
Good afternoon, FM.
Hey are are here Haz, hello :)
*you even
Not quite sure how to answer that! I've not been sitting here the whole time, honestly.
Mum just called me 3 times as each time she forgot to tell me something. I am sure you have cleaned the house from top to toe and walked the spangly one too.
hello everybody from a bitterly cold and even snowy scotland
how is todays grid?
I've been resting on my laurels a bit, did the house yesterday and today was finishing off the appeal letter. First batch of 50 ready for the po4.
hi jaq, hi everyone
Snow! Oh dear and hello jacq! It is a good one for a day if you don't have to go out.
heya Jean
Hello, jacq - it's nice, certainly bigger than we've been getting recently.
Hello, Esprit.
hey haz
where i live i can see the mountains on the east coast at dornoch and they are all white
Hi Esprit
hi fm
and apparently the aberdeen road (main one for up here) is snowy in places, the east coast got hammered last night
encore
oh sorry
slopes off to the pb with my coffee
ty jaq, what elsa ya got?
lol
moves cursor
wish you had typed that earlier - took me ages to find that word :)
lol
puts scones into pb
loved the grid but hated the last 20 words.
mmm scones, think I will go and rustle up some lunch back in a bit.
oh and joy of joys we have TV coverage of the Chancellors proposed Cut backs.
I have it on in the background, he starts at 12.30.
have to come back later killer headache
See you a bit later Haz and we can compare notes.
take care everyone and have fun and fireworks
Bye FM and jacq.
nbt and nbs...take care all. I hope you have a wonderful day, afternoon, evening, night. I'm heading to work.
Bye, Nonnie, have a good day.
What is the total for today
249
Thanks - I think lickety has an extra word
hellooooo
Yes, it was mentioned earlier in chat, I think.
Hello, varumba.
hi haz :)
helllllo, I tried to email you yesterday from the hospital haz, but my phone was being awkward!
Oh, bad phone! Hello, Ata, how are you?
fine! just got home :) not in too much pain or anything, so I'm quite happy
That's good, op went as planned?
yes, and I've already got the one bit of movement that was not happening before, so that's great
Excellent, glad you've seen progress already.
oh yes, it's a nice change!
Will you still have to have physio?
for a few weeks
morning all
Good morning, peri.
glad to hear all went well, Ata. wishing you a complete and speedy recovery
ty Peri!!
how are you??
doing well, ty
need to get read to volunteer at the food pantry, bbl
hi all
Bye peri, hello jmc.
what op ata?
*worried look*
Brain transfusion - she was giving brain cells to others.
Some donate blood, Ata gives brain cells. She's very sharing and caring.
oh yes. helping spread geniusness around the world
but really, sorting out my cruciate ligament
cute haz == i am surprise you didn't volunteer with all your extra brain
I need all the brains I have, Ata's the one who can afford to donate extra.
she knew she couldnt compete
i thought probably something like that
Sorry, Ata, your knee op was just a cover-up for the real business. Get well soon!
i am surprised at all this modesty haz
Oh, I know my limitations.
Any talk of maths and science and I glaze over. Ata laps it up.
not that there are many
ah so it is a subject matter limitation
Absolutely. There are subjects where my brain will not go.
perhaps you could arrange a guided tour
ah but you know everything about the Titanic
I don't mind too much. I just admire those who understand the stuff.
Maybe not everything..
nearly everything
i love watching someone who is very good at something work -- it is a joy
Exactly, jmc, I don't care whether it's a cook or a bricklayer or a plasterer or whatever, if they're an expert, it's a treat to watch.
even an accountant?
even that ata
not even a lawyer? *gasp* :P
I'd enjoy knowing that they know what they're doing while I'm standing glazed and amazed.
there is this guy on a finance committee with me who just analysises things in a flash
yes I love to watch myself work! lol
FM revealed earlier today that she is a dab hand with an axe. She could have been a lumberjack.
really -- that must be something to see
goodness me
pete seeger is good with an axe too -- still
It was a surprise to me but apparently her father started her off with firewood. She had to clear the ashes from the fire as well.
started her off ... what did she graduate to?
and child protective services didn't intervene?
She eventually got her own axe. Vast swathes of deforestation can probably be put down to her.
*imagines FM in diapers welding an axe*
And he taught her to drive at 8 so she could drive her own logging truck.
I wonder if she would take out my ceder trees for me
She's had such an extraordinary life.
wonder if she had mini lumberjack shirts
I don't know whether she's allowed out of the country any more, jmc. Something about protective custody.
would either of you condescend to give me the stats for the N?
ne4/4
hmmm hope that axe has bee confined to trees
I would, but seeing as I've only been back for about half an hour ....
but it's a ne4/4 lol
How long will it be before your brain cells regenerate, Ata?
rats
well I did just get a word on request ...
there -- nbt
That's pretty good going, Ata.
ty you both I can start my day with a sense of accomplishment
And may the day continue to be as good, jmc.
ty haz -- i best be going about it too see you tomorrow perhaps
Bye, jmc.
feel better ata and don't overdo
*poof*
I'll try not to :)
And I'd better go and get some lunch. See you later, Ata, and rest up a little. Bye!
*gone*
bye dear!

((nono)) good morning, I need that as well for NBT
Morning Car.
oh, mom, it's really nothing. It's a kind of inside joke btwn car.ee and I. we used to work at the same company, and that was their big slogan for making sure we were always nose to the grindstone
oh ok, Trif
Nono, want to share a fish?
as in, if you are just sitting at your desk, or wandering around the Back Bay of Boston, you were not "adding value" to the company
I see
sure Mom bring it on
Thanks Annie
What one would shout after a GREAT performance by Trifioso...EN6! EN6!
whoops - I just realized I have to go to the pb for something I said about 10 mins ago. sigh....

hooray for Car.
Doesn't she have practice today?

un poof - yes, at five. But I should be back by then, god knows.
now poof
OK then.
bye trif, have an easy day
Half way done! I am off! Have a good day all!
bye bye Car. don't over do
bye Car.ee take care
don't understand it ... fa** is allowed but someone has to do the fa**ting and that would be the fa**er. But noooooooo
bye car.
wondered about that myself Mom
as long as we play this, we will never understand the enable dictionary
i hate k words. For some reason, I just can't see them
me too. I only have 1
The ot5 day the grid accepted "sended"..I sended a letter? Is that English?
now 2 ke 4/8 and ko 4/8
i have 2 but feel like i've type a 100 of them
ke 4/11
ko 4/8
[
Hi Inge
hi inge
hi Inge
found the ke4/11 now i have 3 :)
oooo another ke4/11
ko 4/8 is the double consonant
up to 5!
another ko 4/8
there are 3 ko words and they are all ko 4/8
5 here as well
only have 2 ko's
found the 3rd ko4/8
another ke 4/8
woohooo found them all! pl one of the ke4/11 words for a 5
extend the last ke4/8
that is the 4/11 I don't have
thats a ke6/30
got the 6/30 thanks
Mom change the last cons. on the ke4/11
I only have one ke 4/11 and that is the first one. I need the ke 4/11 after Clark Ke**

but glad you found them anyway
That was fun, now I must go and do some housework. ((Hugs)) to all of you
bye bye ((Mom))
bye bye ((Nono))
((Annie)) you must be lurking .... have a good day and take care
Morning all
Morning Bob
Mom, Not lurking, was thrown out of babble unceremoniously...have a great day, ((Mom))
((Annie)) that was certainly not a nice way to be treated by Babble :(
Nono, out in the cold again..just got back in
geesh Annie, sorry your having problems
its frustrating, i know
i keep getting a message that says word could not be added and the puter freezes..then i am out..LOL
thats usually a server problem
thanks nono, then I will not take it personally
I had it happen one day. I use babble expert and I could put words into the clues list but got the red message for babble list.
yes, that has happened to me too
I completed the grid, saved the clues list and came back later and transfered everything over
good to know, thanks nono
your welcome
nono, do you have a clue for the first co6?
co6 or vulgar language
thanks nono
yw
any clue for the fa7 after the one meaning quicker?
dont have it, Ouw
There isn't one Ouw - that is an extra word on Licketys list.
then have you got the last up7 ?
FM, Hi...and thanks
ok fitch
pl of the up6
never mind...I got it
hadn't even noticed the extra word... thanks FM
so then, there are 249 words today?
yes
yw Nono I only knew about it as I noticed some chat this morning.
great, then i am finished
anyone need a clue before i leave?
woohooo wtg Ouw
Congrats Ouw!
congrats, ouw!
hi FM!
Hows the back today Annie?
FM, Much better, thanks
oh good, glad to hear that!
thanks, I am glad too
Something else I picked up in the log some while ago from Lickelty is that when his list throws in an extra word until he tweaks his program the automatic list generator will not work properly.
so we may not have his list tomorrow, i remember that now that you mention it FM
spots the extra word today there won't be a list tomorrow - or at least that is how I read his dialogue. :(
yes, I was on when he explained that..he has to know the extra word
perhaps someone should email him what the extra word is?
Oh good glad I wasn't dreaming that!
I dont know the word,....anyone here know it?
am presuming it is the pl of the fa6/27?
yes its an fa7 its a pl word that went to lickety's
Isnt the plural of the fa 6/27 fa 7/40? or is there another word...
thats the one Annie
according to my list...there are 6 fa's
Am I not understanding this correctly?
There are only 5 x fa's Annie
hi again all
This is weird. I only see on fa 6 on my list. When you all say "extra word" does that mean that it will or will not be recognized?
as i can't access his page at the moment my PC is playing up.
I have only 5 in "My Word List" but there are 6 in lickety's
FM ---I have 6 fa's and they were all accepted
ok...i just checked my "list" there are 6 fas
not recognised by babble Molly but is on lickety's list
exactly nono.....
hi Molly
Morning all. This extra word thing is confusing. But since I hardly ever finish a grid this big, no worries.
I've finished the grid and have fa4/7, 5/16, 4/7, 6/27 and 5/16.
okay, I got it....thanks nono...then it is the plural of fa6 as FM said...FM is never wrong....but you can still blame her
88 to go here...
thats what I have also FM
LOL Annie (())
42 left for me
and Hello carlee and Molly
Oh carlee I thought that was a great idea that Trif came up with and was delighted to read that the troop have embraced it too.
yeap..they liked the idea..now..to find 10 distinct colours of nailpolish
that shouldn't be too hard Carlee
we will see...
I can think of at least 9 that I have seen....
( ok....let me rephrase...10 distinct colours that us as leaders own so that we dont spend money on this )
I bought the most brilliant blue colour last year to paint and protect some paper beads I had made.
well that might be a bit different... but a suggestion.... check halloween items in store for cheap sets of weird colors
ah thats fair enough carlee.
we only get about 5-600.00 from guiding/ year for program stuff... and when you have 23 girls...that doesnt go far
out of the 150.00 reg fees we get 11.00/ girl
and then cookie money we get out of the 48.00 per carton of 12 boxes we get 9.00
geesh that's not much at all. Are you allowed to do fund raising things for special projects?
failing that then, how about good old watercolour paint or similar just mix it up thick.
only if all your girls selll cookies... we have one girl whose parents refused...they are sending in a donation chq....so not..we cannot fund raise
that sucks
or perhaps not, it might stain.
we have to charge the girls for extra activities
our system very diff here then in states...there..reg fees are somehting like 25.00 /year and that covers everything and most of $ comes from cookies...we dont have the population/ variety to support that system
Nono can you access Licketys page and email him as I still can't get to it.
sure FM, not a problem
will do that right now before I forget
Ta on behalf of all list users :) fingers crossed he picks up the email of course :)
ok..what to do today...not sure....i have so much i could do!!!!...i think an infusion of caffeine and then i can tackle the house etc
( what up with lickety's list fm?) i have been popping back and forth
Nothing major car it just has 1 extra word today and that will impair the program running tomorrow until he clears that down.
oh.ok... i c... cool
alright....gone for caffeine...and cleaning ( yack)
ttfn * poof*
toodles carlee
... and I think I shall make some tea, back shortly.
Email sent, FM
thanks Nono
Afternoon babblers!
hi red!
hi Red
Would anyone mind doing a little "online voting" for a high school friend of mine who is on Iron Chef?
I would love to red
bring on the details red, Id be glad to help
Well Celina was in my class in High school, now she is a Chef and is on Iron Chef, we are trying to get her to win the fan vote... you can vote ten times daily...
here is the site http://tinyurl.com/29uv9ww
her name is Celina Tio. She is feisty, last week her plastic mixing bowl caught on fire...and she still was not eliminated.
thanks!
how long does the voting go on Red? how many days so I remember to do it each day
will do as soon as I get off babble expert
I think until the end of the show season.
I appreciate even one day of voting!
thank you, I knew I could count on some babblers.
okey, I will set a reminder to continue doing it each day
I will vote everyday as soon as I open puter

Thanks for sending the email Nono.
no problem FM
Unless anyone needs any clues I think I will come back to babble later as it is getting a bit buggy at my end.
ok FM, maybe see you later
hello and goodbye FM
TTFN :)
hi Katie
Hi nono
** FIREWORKS **
oh congrats
You know, I must say, there are some very satisfying words in his grid. you feel accomplished when you find them!
Oooh COngratulations to NONO!!!!!
shoots off fancy sparklers.
good morning everyone;)
hello red & c rossy
do i dare start this big ole grid?
dive right in crossy - and good morning
good morning riverdance
you have to love it the grid takes ts 4/4 but if you type it in the chog box,it shows it as a un-word :)
that ers in the top right is making some lovely words:)
ac 6/21 is a word we do not get often,it is in a cr5/12word puzzle, not down but ac****
phantom "prosaic"
mmm,i better stop talking to myself,or someone will haul me away:/
what a lovely grid and this is the first free moment I've had all day!
maybe it's ac****y!
Cross, were you joking about the ers? I only have one word that starts with that.
no molly, lots of words that finish with it
((ruby))
Gotcha
a whole lot of 7,s that finish with it
and 8,s
love those u words
hi all
howdy kallia
hello kalia
hello molly
cork
corks
hi crossy and ruby
corker
love it when you find the biggies without even realising it ( a rare thing).
tore
then
hi FM
omg, sorry
ruby!!!
ruby,i always like your clues the best:))
it's been a long hard day but that's no excuse. my abject aplogies
I have a problem with the plural of ro 6/33 not being accepted.
lol ruby, can't you give me my missing p's please!
Hi Kallia and dear crossy and a hug for poor ruby :)
it isn't there Molly
((fm))
the s is not near enough molly
and now husband wants to have washing machine fixed, not replaced he originated the expression good money after bad!
Ignore him and get a new one before you spend any more money on the darn thing!
so far, 220euros
insane
that IS crazy
I think that 13 years of almost daily use isn't so bad!
I agree with FM Ruby...comes a point when reppair is not economic
Tell him that yo have been told it will be cheaper to buy a new one ;)
and O KNOW that repair has only one p...honest
it's ridiculous, but he is the least mechanically adept person I know.
that is good life span for a washer Ruby
How old is the washing machine? Have you found a competent repairman? Would he accept your explanation that you bought a new one on e-bay by accident - a slip of the finger?
gosh my typing is getting worse!
an doesn't "get it". He says that Amana washing machines lasted forever. duh
hello Haz
hi haz
Greetings Haz.
I need crossy to shake some sense into him!
13 years is lasting forever in the washing machine cycle for heavens sake!
Hello! ruby, I'm not usually one for confrontation, but I think I'd just down tools until you get a new washing machine. He wants clean clothes? Let him wash his own.
lol,get it running just long enough to put about 2 pounds of fine sand thru it.that will finish it once and for all,and he will have no choice
hah hah haz; he would be oblivious
He will refuse to call the repairman - so will you. And stick it out.
Back shortly!
he can't as it's all in French!
does he control all the cash Ruby? I'd just go and get one , and field the aftermath as and when it happened
In which case you can tell a small white lie and say it is beyond repair.
good idea, kalia, I'll just order one on the phone
Exactly. He's going to be stuck good and proper and smelling to high heaven. Get that credit card out and do it some damage.
*gone*
yep go do it now :)
fa 7/40?
put a old was tub and scrubbing board by his chair and tell him that he is doing the laundry now;))
I think I need to go the the store and try to negotiate some of the repair charges against the price of a new machine
well tomorrow morning seeing as it is coming up to 6pm in France.
dinner time for us farmers....hahah
Oh even better idea crossy - put the scrubbing board and a big old stone next to the fish pond *giggle* See what he makes of that!
ah yes, good idea to try that Ruby, but you may still get it cheaper on line
lol
he'll think the heron brought it!
LOL ruby :)
lol that'll confuse him
aren't we evil *grin*
I love this support! much needed in this isolated spot
oh very
sorry to nip in and out, but I noticed Kallia was around and had something to ask! Kallia, did you get my email down right? I haven't heard from you :)
Hi NB
hi NB, I was wondering the same...
ok, dinner, back for some laughs, after....
Hmmm...let me stick both email addresses in my profile. Fail-safe - hopefully ;)
thanks, friends
Hi ruby, NB Kallia
Poutetheb@ya
ok thanks
hi and bye bichon, see you after dinner
which, BTW, should be wonderful: roast chicken, sweet potatoes and spinach souffle!
mmm crossy loves sweet taters
oh yum rubes
Looking at what I have now I don't think it is right...
I'll soften him up and then say, BTW, I bought a new machine.....lol
Help on os7,32 please??
(oh, and hello everyone else. how rude am I!)
Both addresses are in my profile now, Kallia :)
howdy nb
ty NB...that one I thought was yours is nothing like...lol, must have been on another planet!
Well send later, need to change in slightly, things have changed a little :)
lol! hope that email didn't go to the wrong person, then ;) glad we could get that cleared up...and now I'd better jet off, or I'll be in serious trouble. Later, everyone!
bye and thanks for popping in and sorting that out
erda - os + to follow with a penicl to create an outline but change the last vowel for another one.
ty fm
ty for that FM
oh goodie love it when a clue works that I am not sure will do :)
TY FM -- what a weird one...
did you know that ' brilliant clue' is not found in the dictionarty lol
and a dictionarty is a dictionary with pictures...before you ask
anyone have the fa 7? tia
and it actually means: a potsherd, esp. one used as a ballot on which the name of a person voted to be ostracized was inscribed.
There isn't one Kat - it is the extra workd in Licketys list today.
ah--now I feel better that I coulkdn't find it LOL
will I need lickety to finish my last 61?
possibly Kall but only to remind you how many plurals and so forth you have missed if yo uare anything like me.
lol, probably true FM
well later maybe
I went to the list to find my last f--turns out I missed a silly plural.....
... see there you go :)
I am so glad I am not the only one!
need to go start dinner
back later if no interruptons..ie phone calls from my mother, daughter, goodness knows who else lol
TTFN Kallia
If those who bake are bakers, then those who fart are...you know.
one c from nirvana
ah .. c's are done
hello babblers
howdy varumba
Hi Varumba
hey crossy
hi molly :)
fa 7/40 anyone?
don't have it yet sry
there is none--I struggled for it and then learned it's an extra in ther list
oooooh ok, lol tx for saying so kateq
thanks to fmitch
k
what about the fo 7/56? same story?
No fraid you don't get off that easy dear ruru :)
sry, dont'have that one either
i'm down to the C's ;)
temporary custody of children
Dang, phone.
but that's fo7/40, isn't it?
oops that the 7/40..i will be fine:)
hi all...back to try for last 80 words...
fo + cons + another word for departed - use the letter ount if you need a clue.
in favor of + past tense of go (but not fo***** conclusion)
ohi got it! fo7/56 = same beginning as fo4/7 *** + past tense of to go somewhere
thank you
howdy carlee
weird one
hi carlee, gl
i obviously havent found the to go somewhere ending...
oh...wait... i have
yesterday I **** to the movies
wtg ;)
high point tile carlee
i did... its ok..but thanks varumba
yeap... just getting back to this grid..re familiarizing myself here
yw
coming up on final lap
so....i want to bake something....want it to be simple... not sure what tho..not a rainy gloomy day with a chill..so cant be oatmeal cookies
banana bread?
easy, quick. soooo good
kids dont eat it
they like banana choc chip cookies...
then you can have it al to yourself?
lol
fairy cakes or victoria sponge or lemon drizzle cake or ... god I have put on 5lbs just typing that :)
no....i cant eat it all myself
fairy cakes?
lol, was joking ;)
victoria sponge?
that sounds easy enough
( gone googling )
so..crossy..all 3 of my carlees are up on the chart now :)
hail google
lol car and yay for google. In the mean time I am going to get some coffee.
thank god for google...
oooh..and i have some lovely seedless rasp jam.... and cringe....a container of frozen whipped topping...
wait.i have 1/2 a choc cake setting there..no victoria sponge
ooooooooooooooh was banging my head on that fa7/40 to just suddenly remember that it's an extra word.....
os 7?
got none of the OS'. so i'll be listenign to the answer ;)
ok...what is caster sugar?
it's just plain sugar
lil granulae
granulated sugar..plain old used for cereal/ etc
okie kokie
we call granulated
ok
caster sugar is finer than regular granulated
Hello, all.
icing sugar?
have some with coffee in the PB everyone
icing sugar is when you blend caster sugar, so it turns into a fine powder
i thought caster sugar was powdered sugar
nope, caster is the granulated one
ok...cannot make either fairy cakes..nor victoria sponge as we do not have caster sugar here
nope, not quite as fine as confectioners, but finer than our usual table sugar in the US
what sugar do you have?
i oculd get in toronto likely....but that is 3 hours of freakish hway driving on an at times 18 lane freeway going 130 Km /h....for sugar..i think not
But you could use regular and see what happens!
castor/caster is super fine, not powdered :) http://www.ochef.com/580.htm
you could grind regular to fine but not powdered easily with blender or food processor
granulated... brown, dark brown, raw, fruit, icing and demerra
so you're fine then!
alas..no...caster... or and i have coarse as well
you see, sugar is being iced so it mixes beter with the rest of the buttermix... so if you think your plain sugar is too "big" then use the icing one
i dont have a blender nor a food processor...i whip by hand..chop/ mince etc... by hand
HAve you got apples carlee?
did you see my comments below, carlee? http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-caste r-sugar.htm is another resource
oh, i see, carlee
not cooking..only eating apples
Hello, FM!
Not sure if the recepie would work but I have a great one for an apple cake, so moist and tasty.
oh apple cakes always easy to make!
i have 1/2 a choc cake here...
its ok..perhaps i will crochet this afternoon...
you make me want to go back eone FM
carlee, I think you will have to do your cooking in the PB because of the ca6,21 sugar.
Hey Vi!!!!!!!!! How is the autumn art expibitions going?
lol wht
wht..u just dont know me do u?????
awe var :)
could someone clue the os7?
I just like freshly baked things in the PB so they are still warm when I get there.
One down, four to go in the next 3 months. It was not bad. I don't think art is a great thing to be selling these days, but it's still fun.
ruru, I've been looking. DO you know the point value?
os7/32
os + cons + outline something with a pencil but change the last vowel.
Oh, thanks, FM.
uh..that was icky but monkeyed it
Latin pl.
yw :)
ya...what fm said
anyway..wht....u just dont know me re: words and pb
got it.. wow
yeaaahhhhh tx FM
I'm buying you a new pencil sharpener for your purple crayons carlee as a Christmas present :))
Fm can likely explain my love hate relationship much better than i ever could
YAY...thanks fm :)
*grin*
carlee, I think I remember that you live in the PB and don't worry about it. :^)
Hope the events pick up for you Vi.
cus... just cus caster is on the list... does not mean i will not say..caster... time and again because i am on a quest to find a recipe ...or an explanation for what exactly caster is
( but i keep the pb well stocked with chocklit and wine and other tasty things all the time)
carlee, replace caster sugar with icing sugar: will not affect the recipe at all
I thought it was something you put under the legs of furniture myself.
*smacks car with a fish - but I know she is resistant to that after all these years*
lol fm
see... varum understands me completely :)
that sugar is to go in the buttermix, right?
Thanks, FM. I can't complain. I guess I was spoiled by the irrational exuberance of the art-buying public a couple years ago! lol
<snort> pretty much..i'll just whip up some sushi for the pb
well as long as i dont'say that ca5 is what we've beent alking about all along..... that's not giving it away!
right?
*smirks*
lol varumba
So does anyone have a clue for the e in the 3'rd row for nbt? I need some fish with my lunch.
especialyl as it is ca6 ;)
exactly..I STILL want a theme day where we USE the words in conversation purposely..no "clues" just use the words..i think would be great fun
oh yes, that would be great fun indeed
after a concert and the crowd does not disperse..the band might play this
hello all
en6 - what you shout after a great aria
ca6/21 is also the small wheeled foot found under so4's etc.
Good luck working os7,32 into conversation.
and pl
but that just the point wht....great fun...
mmm there are 2 E's there wht..... e4/4 = the god of love (with the arrows) and the second e4/4 = german for first
ty fm and Vi.
Oh, that's no problem. The new Diebold voting machines are a step farther from os7.
en6 what you want after a rock band does their last set.
LOL carlee - would be hard pused to used crwth and ywis/iwis and all the other babblets but it could make for an interesting or silent log.
It was clued at 11:47
nice clue there molly
but i have artyl and rotl down pat :)
I think we all mass clued it at once. : )
we did molly :)
I have etui in my pocket just in case...
lol wht!
ETNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i think we should have such a day :) and the poor newbies who have no idea..
(Sorry. It just erupted.)
Very handy - who knows what emergencies might crop up!
They would have no clue.
har-de har har
well email sprite then car.
I think it would be fun to make sentences with grid words.
i KNOW... i think it would be fun...for one day..but alas the purists object :(
I'd like to see someone use 0 7/32 in a sentence that makes sense.
perhaps we could use words from the day befores grid?
Are you implying that my sentence didn't make sense, MollyL???? lol
then it wouldn't offend anyone.
Purists are like Puritans...no fun.
well..that is boring..and there no fun inthe hunt...i actually think we would learn more forcing urselves to use them properly in sentences
there's an o7?
I must have missed your sentence Vicuna.
i absolutely agree with car!
any1 got the first po?
duh got it
well...when we are all on.... when sprite is on....we can request it...if a bunch of us do.then perhaps we will get a "day" of word freedom :)
so simple
Shakespere was one var
Alas, I must wander off and do something useful. Farewell, everyone.
as was Keats
he sure was! and a very talented one too
was going to say that
down to the Pr's now.....
need I go on?
i havent gotten very far in the last hour
Bye Vi - lovely to see you.
aeosap too :)
talking too much? or googling too much? or a bit of both ;)
bye vi!
and mother goose ..one of my personal favs
hint for the os 7, perhaps?
talking too much
os+ what you do with thin paper and a pencil with last letter changed
it is the bit of paper on which - in ancient greek - they wrote the name of the person to be ostracized
and it is the plural form here.....
so the sentence, FM, could be: can I please a couple of ostraca please?
reading back..i would have problems using cwms as a topic of conversation...but then again i just did,did i not? lol
LOL
got it, ty. Varumba to the PB
oh shoot
ust realised i said the word!!!!
u did quite well crossy..bravo
lmao
<<<<<<runs to help herself of the nice chocolate treats car left there
i tied the etui the the nenes leg with twine and he flew across the cwms to freedom:)))
hehehe...carlee is contagious today :)
var is getting carried away with excitement
( nibbling specula with coffee :) )
actually, i was giving an example of a sentence containing os7, as you challenged ;)
got to go bye all
i think i just hurt my mind....
oh dear....we scred barb away :(
scared even...
bye babs
oopsp, barb.... dear me
o
OK 105 left at about 1:05 so it is time to get back to work.
but the nene tripped over the tenrec on landing and ended up on the doorstep of the naoi.
you see....think of how much we would learn :)
not all of us are brainiacs like fm and haz
( no offense intended fm...)
( Or haz..should she read back in horror)
None taken at all dear :)
my yurt is open to all:)
BTW crossy..the 100 fold molecules take way longer to do then the 250...go figure
i have slept in a yurt myself a time or two
( seriously )
I was trying to work in the hairy nosed dolphin and the Celebs buffalo but can't remember the words - so I am infallible.
i just finished a fold this morn and i am in the same slot:/
FM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is my 3rd 250 in a row carlee
*Faints*
i started a 100 last night... and i am only at 33 now....a 250 one is almost done by now
good grief ... Ata?!?!
ATA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [falls in faint]
A
woner how mom is making out with her 6666 protein? lol
hi inge!!!
i tried to email you and haz from hospital yesterday and my phone wouldnt play nicely :(
Just as well I've arrived. Just in time to save the ! from complete extinction.
Crossy - re the folding - I would love to join in but have an old PC and can't compremise my workhorse.
HOSPITAL?????
poking at my knee, nothing dramatic!!
oh man..haz is here...we have to play nice now everyone...
thats ok fm,i am running it on a 1.6 gig dinosaur and am getting one fold in every 3 days lol, carlee is blazing by me:/
I'll go, then, will I? I'd hate to spoil your fun.
Did you have your knee done? and how are you and why haven't you emailed in ages and and and *huffs a bit* but still love Ata.
am kidding haz
we've just been breaking all the bable rules and having quite a chuckle about it :)
Haz you stay put!!! or I will use up more !
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tsk car - behave.
I'd better not read back or I'll do my war wounds an injury.
knee yep :) and I've been doing secret things ... but you can know now :) Have got a job at Kent Wildlife Trust, dong marine conservation work. am very very happy!
we only scared away one known babbler...
oh congrats on that.
i blame the sugar....
YAY for marine research!!!
which type car? *giggle*
not the granulated kind
heh heh
9 to go 9 to go
see...its the sugar's fault... I BLAME THE SUGAR!!!!
if i am to keep the pb in treats..it MUSt be the sugars fault
pr 6/7?
so I've been having interviews for that etc etc
nm
( in 2 hours i have gone from 31/ 100 to 33/ 100 - going to be along one)
a long * even
very cool ata :)
but think of all the fun you have had and things you ahve learnt
yes, very cool. back to where I should be! And if I didnt think someone would copy further logs over to husband, I'd tell you even more exciting things. But I can't
Well you could actrually pick up the flipping phone some time?!?
Oh good Lord. Someone was copying chat logs to your husband?
oooh..that sounds ominous... but alas i understand..i expect that since my exknows i spend time here he likely now has an account just to read what i say here
Now tell me all about being a lumberjack FM
fireworks!!
this is true ... I must get over my phobia of phones now ...
lol yes, FM, we want to hear all!!!!!!
Nice going Varumba.
HI KEVIN ~~~~~~~~~~ <----- waving hello
ty :) any1 want a clue before I go?
*~*~*~*POMPOM TOSS*~*~*~* for varumba
ROFL - jmc I think you must have been listening to Haz this morning or having funny dreams?
ooooooh i get a pompom!!!! yayyyyyyy
Congrats var
ok, well have fun every1, gl with the grid and sy tomorrow hoepfully
byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee tx fm
byebye var
You ca never trust what Haz says
I was telling them about your exploits with your axe. We can blame FM for the rain forests disappearing...
we want to know what your father taught you when progressing on from a big axe
my dreams are always funny
well we blame her for everything else..( haz....it was all fm's fault with the sugar..she suggested that i bake fairy cakes and victoria sponges )
where is the fun in not trusting haz
Haz is the master or mistress of making a story into an epic tale of hollywood proportions (in technicolour).
i blame Fm for the rule breaking :p ~~~~~
I just want to make sure you only aim at trees with that axe
with george...and white coats
ooo rule breaking? do tell!
technicolor is old hat
read back about 30 mins jmc hehehehe
#D is where its at now
OK back in a couple of mins and I will teach you all you need to know about a chain saw and a petrol driven strimmer ... make sure you have your goggles ready.
I just let my imagination run with a few details.
*opens archives in new tab*
i have a chain saw but what is a stimmer? *on pins and needles*
A chain saw? This is worse than I had imagined!
3D pardon me*
that is what an imagination is for haz!
A strimmer is a mechanical means of trimming long grass.
weed whacker!
It buzzes and whines and snags itself every five minutes.
ok..going for a moment to find some late season catnip out in my garden...
americans calling them weed whackers always makes me laugh muchly
Do they really call them that?
yes!!
a weed whacker I knew the guy that invented it and held the prototype in my dainty little hand
it was invented in the U.S. so we can call it anything we want
they dont understand the hilarity we all find in the nae
Dear me, we are in the presence of greatness.
*worried that carlee is on the catnip again*
the prototype was a tennis ball can and fishing line
it always seem descriptive to me
ok....kitties are chowing dow on catnip ( i can hear one litterally crunching it like one would lettuce leaves )
it is ... it's just very funny
Chain saws and weed whackers. The chat log has gotten dangerous.
I think a strimmer sounds more dignified.
Back again
*offers molly a Kevlar jacket*
I could imagine Percy Thrower advocating the use of a strimmer (just about) but he wouldn't be able to force the term 'weed whacker' over his lips.
Chain saw was my graduation from the big axe - so much fun and sawdust
a strimmer sounds like something you clean teh pond with
but to the macho men who wield these instruments of destruction strimmer is far too...dainty weed whacker on the other hand...
(Percy Thrower - dignified TV gardenerO
Thank you jmc.
*puts on Kevlar jacket*
Strimmer was good until I realised that there was the remains of a 19th centuary greenhouse at ground level.
okay molly and I are ready for the demonstration FM
i can hear tim the tool man grunting....
lo yes re percy
i am still stuck with 69 to go
how did you figure that out FM?
once the glass started flying :(
yikes!
oh oh... not good fm
luckily no one was in the line of fire.
okay a person who fa*** is a fa6/27 so why is there not a pl accepted?
I agree jmc.
19th century glass does not break into relatively safe little beads
cos enable doesn't like it jmc and it is the extra word on licketys list today.
well lickety was right!
It was after my Dad had died and Mum bought a house with 2 acres of land and so much of it was overgrown.
good thing dad taught you how to use power tools
ohhhhhh! I was wondering how you had a 19th century greenhouse in your current garden!!
Someone had left a dumper truck on the back bit of land and that was fun trying to drive is as it has opposed steering.
opposed steering?
so you had to steer left to go right.
steering on the left side?
!!!
yep
excuse my excess use of ! but that is shocking
It makes it easier backing up?
lol helen
hello everybody again, back for my last 99
basic mechanics I guess - I found it a hoot to try and drive.
hi jac
Hi Jac, hope the headache has gone?
heya jmc, fm, haz, helen et al
I'm gratified that you're taking note of ! abuse, jmc. My little campaign is bearing fruit.
as if things could be any worse around here, Max has just developed a horrible twitch of his whole head, particularly when he is eating.
Hello, jacq.
!!!!!!!!!!!!! just because :)
now haz those little !'s love the abuse
Have you ever heard of such a thing? And he seems to be aware of it
I have often protested there overuse on the chog haz
oh my ruby!
is he having trouble swallowing? and is this an animal or person?
Thank you, jmc. However, as you can see (glaring in Ata's direction) some love to tease me.
i have never really taken notice of !! or the lack...or over use...
Max is the autistic chow chow
so there !!!!!!!!!!!
there were none left for me to use one day because of ata's overuse
No, he ate his dinner like a champ, just had trouble getting his head in the right direction
ahhhh, perhaps it is a tic, like some autistic humans get
How would you feel if we took your pruple crayon away from you car?
strange that it would be all-of-a-sudden, after more than 6 years
<guarding purple crayon stash >
Get a vet to check it out. Don't drive yourself crazy trying to diagnose it, ruby.
oh dear my chair has started to squeak whenever i laugh now i will never be able to hide my laughter from the staff!
lol there yo go :)
u wait Fm..on day you will request to use my pruple crayon
one* even
LOL use some oil, even vegetable oil will do
wd40!
Right, must go to the kitchen. Bye!
*sends over a can of WD40 for jmc*
unforetunately, it's night time
bye haz
ty FM
fortunately (or unfortunately) i am alone in the office today
No, don't call the vet now, it's not an emergency. Just get it checked out soon.
oh dear did our !!!! chase haz away??? <sniff>
oh great. *You* get thanks, fm. not fair!
Bye Haz!
at first I thought he was having a seizure but when I held him in my arms firmly, he settled down
well FM sent it to me -- you merely suggested it
ha ha!
but ty for the suggestion
Really, really away now. And honestly, carlee, I HATE being portrayed as a spoilsport, even if in jest. See you all tomorrow. *gone*
( My house smells like cat nip and my one cat is currently hanging off edge of chair with head down and feet up on back of chair )
lmao
bye dear!
<sorry>
bye haz I will protect the rights of ! while you are gone
well..i feel like a shit now...I didnt mean to upset haz
Am glad to have brought so much joviality to the log today and gotten many laughs back. It has been much fun but now I must now bow out too. thanks all and Happy Babbling ((())).
bye FM
*poof*
ata, I'm sorry to beother you, but what do you think. My husband is unconcerned, but won't even look at the dog
You didn't carlee.
oh car if it bothered so much she would have said so earlier
bye car
i'm really not sure - could it have just been a muscle spasm?
it shocked me because he seemed so aware of it
ahh! now i am moving up the list carlee
i think carlee left
howdy jmc;))
hi crossy i see our team has really been beefed up
up,i have bee recruiting
hmmmmm
mom is onboard also but her first one is a biggie (6666) so it will be a bit before she gets on the list
well she will get a certificate as soon as she is through with that!
i mainly do 100 and 250 ones
hope she doesn't have a really old and slow computer
i am goign to grab team certificates at 100,000,500,000,1 mil etc and will make them availabe to any who wish for one
good idea crossy
well gotta have a carrot to chase;))
we are at 57405 atm

Hi Scrabs
Scrabbs. thanks for your advice the other day, I am feeling better.
That's good news, Annie. That pain can linger for wks-months.

Hi Red
hi scrabbs.
Hi, red
hi Jellen.
BRB, I feel a migraine starting (I had a very late lunch and got hypoglycemic), and must take naproxen.
((Scrabbler))
Oh no Scrabbs, hope you get to feeling better.

OK, I am back.
can not believe that Fa** er is not a word!

wb scrabs
Jilly!
Me too, Jill, so I rarely do it.
Haha, Red.
wb scrabs
((jellen))!!
ok..chog burped here for me
Flying is very unpleasant.
i love flying rth....
It sure is, Red. Recurrent frustration and discomfort.
Particularly when you're trying to hold the memories of a great holiday...
Flying down here wasn't too bad, but getting back has been a hassle, from driving in traffic to going thru security, to gate changes
finally done
Yippee Carlee! I finally look at the word total. This is rather big.
Huzzah and hooray for carlee!!!
thanks
and skort should be a word...
congratulations Carlee!
I agree, Red
I agree, red
wtg carlee!!
i agree, red
Red, you will appreciate this being an ED nurse. Mother brings baby in today, with numerous concerns one of which is "smelly fa5 like my husband does."
Hi Une
LOL!!!
ahhh nice.
hey, scrabs :-)
Since my last child interaction, I am really unpleased with them....
numerous complaints are always difficult!
Hi Unea
Does she think the baby's farts should smell like roses? Geez, there's waste material + fermenting gas in there!
hey, red :-)
why is it parents freak out over the silliest of things...cripes..the kid goes through hell to get there/ here....they are pretty resilient little packages
resilliant*
anyway
well, you know how people gush about the "new baby smell"
i never got that when i had my kids as babies
ewwwwwwwwwww,,,,puke , spoilt milk...and babypowder..yack
Yes, Red. We say that one of the greatest dangers to many children = their mothers. Such anxiety, fretting, micromanaging, drama--over the last 10 yrs or so. No criticism to Babble mothers at all. But we see so many Munchausen by proxy cases everyday.
omg, really??
i had little kids/ babies..didnt like my own
i assumed that was extremely rare
I think that the fretting though is not really munchausens, just anxious parenting, which robs kids of independence and learning that they can do things for themselves.
Yes, Carlee, you understand. So much is normal--puking babies, fussiness, rashes, routine illnesses, defiance.
I was thrilled when my niece finally decided it wasn't going to be fatal for her little girl to sit on the floor with my dogs
i knew a woman here whom we ( peers but not friends) thought she had maunchaussen
We have many kids that are in the office at least once weekly with nutty mothers requesting blood work, etc.
exactly. there was a man I dated for a while but I drew the line when I found out his 7 yr odl son slept in the same bed with him all the time.
jeez, scrabs . . .
eventually she killed herself..we never knew if intentionally or by accident
good lord!
Oh, carlee!
ugh
No boundaries between parents + kids anymore--parents are friends with their kids so don't want to say no or set limits.
That is disturbing, red...
ick
Sorry, I am venting now. Most parents are wonderful but those loonies are scary.
I found it very disturbing, but its really just bad parenting, as an adult he should be teachign his son that he can be OK alone, which would take some putting kid back into his own bed a few times for a week or so...
understandable, scrabs
Becoming friends is only for when they are on their own!!
Scrabb, all I emet seem to be the loonies, and kids who have typical accidents.
Yes, Red. There is an epidemic of "wimpy parents."
the scariest parents are the ones who don't care and who don't ever set boundaries
That was one of the things I hated about working in ED...seeing the abused children...especially the babies...
exactly...kids have lots of friends..they dont have lots of parents..be a parent
Yes, jacq. No guidance, no supervision, no consequences.
I am very tired of parent telling me they can not medicate a 3 yr old. the child is 3... you are an adult....
My partner who has had fo6 kids x almost 20 yrs, in addtion to 2 sons and one adopted son, took in a bro + sis (6 + 5) last wk. Child neglect. The kids protect each other and want to share bed.
I so admire fo6 parents!
i know of one mother with 9 kids, no guidance the house is a tip, she sits and drinks and smokes all day and they run wild the oldest boy was trying to keep the kids clean, he was 9 and dropped the baby in a bath of scalding water, baby is fine thankfully but the household is still the same, social workers hands are tied because they aren't physically or sexually abused
Yikes, jacq!
horror stories everywhere....i know of lots of cases at the office....if the kids had have been shown even the slightest of guidance...their lives could have been so different
My son was married to one like that...breaks my heart to think of my stepson growing up in that... child protective had removed him, but back he went...
neglect is abuse, emotional and physical neglect scar kids for life
all kids need is love and direction
Yes, it leads to alcohol + drug abuse to hide the pain, failed relationships, chronic depression, and anger which is taken out on their own kids.
and consistency
So true...my ex dgt in law was also abused
Well, Moms, I must head up to the cancer ctr and do my volunteer work. I shall return to Babble this evening.
later, scrabbs
*throwing waves & kisses*
*waves and kisses back*
when i did child development i read about a king from somewhere i can't remember, who was practicing his own theories on language development, he thought that kids would develop their own language so he had a group of 20 babies put in a large room and cared for by nurses who were forbidden from speaking to the babies or singing or anything, according to records every baby died because they couldn;t thrive without contact, despite being fed and cared for in every other way
:-D
"psychosocial neglect"--we see it in failure to thrive babies. OK, I really must poof now.
bye scrabbler
Well, flight may board here soon, going to sign off and maybe bbl in Seattle...
smiling at Jellen and Scrabbs, not the horrible king!
good luck Jilly.
smiling at everyone but the king.
ty red *poof*
Bye, Jilly
54 to go . . . looking longingly at the list . . . back in a mo *poof*

I definitely need to get a few more before the list.
Hello all -- just grabbing a few more word (I hope) before lunch.
*words
hi Jilli.
heya jilli
nice to see some sea shells :)
I try to follow the themes, but I dont always get to them.
There is something as5,26 when families ac6,21 the country, from co6 to co6 don't as6,18 themselves being a parent, and don't co6,21 the children. fo6 care is done by he5,12, but may not be able to fix all the problems.
nice mixi
very nice mixi.
thanks, mixi -- clever and helpful and right.
Hi, mixi and jilli!
jacq i can't tell from the chat if you know that lickety has/takes an fa7 but babble does ot take it
HI Jellen!

I'm not even halfway -- got somewhat sidelined last night
now 82 left. not pleasant. it was fun for a while.

i get two cups a day
fa 7/40 ?? the one that is logical and that i tried and is in morewords is not acceptable here
Hi, Soodle!
ty GE still looking
apparently sammy there is no Fa.
the plural of fa6 is accepted by lickety but babble doesn't like it
the ke 6 is ke plus a spelling that is not correct of the digits on your feet.
ke = lac**** intolerant
Hi, sammysmom
better clue there Good!
ty - got it after wayyyy too long!
Soodle? MSN if you have a moment?

Lickety takes plural of the comparative of "fast" but Babble doesn't. Now what?

do not spend an hour searching

<<did
cool bethn, now you can have a relax
brb
Hi, Fiber Art
there are no fas**** or far****
okay, I'll take Jacq's advice. I know that in my personal life there are fas**** and far****! Hi, Jellen.
yes, we all know a few of each : )
silly me, I just entered fa7 into Lickety. Over halfway and going for lunch, then errands, then facing the Fs. Bfn...

yes, I dont know why I hesitate.
does it make your machine run slower while you are on it?
I dont think it does.
nope my machine is running this, media player folding and it's running virus scans too
it only uses a small percentage of your available bits
OMG Bill Clinton is on Television, for kendrick Meeks, and he is wearing a hideous hideous Green (lime and pea soup combine) tie and shirt.
good to know
thanks all - don't know why i didn't see that but i certainly didn't
yvw wvt
sometimes if you have a firewall that can cause issues as your firewall won't let it through so you'll have to make an exception
sorry I had to comment. I wish he was wearing a bit of purple.
well.... the stats are still as5/26 but at least I can now read the chog!! I didn't know that if you press control and then scroll it changed the screen display! cool!
ahhh that could be my problem. i have had firewall issues in the past
his wife dresses him funny red : )

i know my children shudder sometimes at the outfits my husband puts together, they tried to blame me but i told them he is his own stylist. Poor chelsea has to know that the whole world sees his fashion faux pas
gotcha! gosh you all good...thanks
I am sure someone dressed him. but it is pretty green.
its not easy being green
thats the trouble when you're surrounded by yes men and no-one respects you anymore
lol, beth
yeah... you blend in with so many other things.
maybe they were gifts from his family and he felt he had to wear them
maaybe he wore them for a bet
haven't been here in a long time. I am a bit rusty. It is nice to see familiar icons...

i saw that - very funny. still like the original :)
can anyone clue the oc5 please?
A band called Trout Fishing in America does a great song..."My Hair Had a Party Last Night"...
damn parrot just pooped on my shirt. sigh . only bird owners have poop clothes they must wear in their homes gotta love them
meet the f******. is a movie
mick jagger is a r*****
I gotta love bird owners?
I'm a r******, baby I'm a r*******
everyone loves The Boss! right?
no, parrots. (if you have one)bird owners are crazy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SE_5dPh XLA8
my oldest was really into birds for a while. We didn't have parrots though.. just budgies.
budgies can be great fun if they are tame. very affectionate
yes. hers sat on her shoulder most of the time.
little tiny parakeet poops on shoulders. this one is large and messy
so do you wear burp cloths on your shoulders?
we tried, he eats them
we wear clothes that are designated poopable
we are trying to potty train him with mixed results
how old is he??
he will be 3 in december
yeah... 3 is a good time for potty training.LOL
i didn't like it with my kids, and they were much more agreeable
my niece SCREAMS if her diaper is the least damp. we're hoping she'll potty train easily and early.
gotta run, bbl
Hi, dc
or you could do diaper free seain;-)
be well, bethn
Bye, beth
hi, m9 and jellen
bye beth
well, she had a growth spurt, so now it's BIG pee diaper, plus that much again if you're not fast enough :)
I've actually known a diaper free family.
huh. Lots of laundry then.
nope.
hi seain
she learns her baby's cues, and the baby goes in a little pot.
hi, jbv
and for pee..she just holds baby over sink or toilet.
brb...speaking of lots of laundry...
oh Jellen... that's what I was going to do right when I got home.. and I forgot!
m9 - can I ask you a question about FHC that may save me some money??
what JBV?
I couldn't figure it out from the website, but do I have to go to NYC to look up a birth certificate or can I do it at the FHC and will they order the microfillm for me?
1907
you order them.
you found a record of it?
no, I mean do I have to pay the $15 that NYC is asking for
oh! Yes, if you want an actual copy from the source you usually have to pay for that.
no, I want to search for it, but do I have to go to NYC to search or can I search at FHC and then order by mail from NY? (sorry I think I asked you 2 questions)
so the image wasn't online?
I don't know where to look - sorry, I'm not being clear
I think I'm saying where can I search the index to the NYC municipal archives so I can find the record number, and then order by mail
ah. that's a little trickier. You can only search at ancestry or such sites for things that have been digitally indexed. I don't know offhand if NYC records are available.
oh, ok, thanks, I can go back to FHC on Saturday - they have Ancestry online there
is it your father's?
oh I have returned, and miserable, 73 left.
miserable?
why for miserable red
hi all
take the 70 off and that's how many I have left.
Hi, jmc...wb red

this grid is tough today
just dont get into an Up**** over it! and plural that!
thanks!
and up the beach
YVW.
here's what would be cool about being psychic - if you could know what people were going to say to you in advance, then you could come up with a good pretort!
lol hurshy
too funny!
very funny and thanks, hurshy, you just gave me two words I didn't have :)
if I was psychic I think I'd be done the grid.
err with it.
:)
so jbv, who's birth certificate you looking for?
fireworks - did anyone figure out why the grid has 249 words but Lickety's list has 250?
my father's, m9 - I think if ancestry has the index, I can get the record number and then order it. My question was can FHC order the microfilm for me at no charge or do I still have to pay the $15?
wtg aloy! lickety has an fa7 that's not on the grid
lickety has the fa 7.
ah, tyvm m9 and red
depends.. some of those types of microfilms, the church has in their own collection. so it depends.
off to cook up some gourmet delight.. happy Babbling all, see you next grid!
bye Aloy
happy cooking and hello Lynxxx Good morning.

If you did, you didn't see me for several minutes, Jill - then again I'm not very dazzling this morning. :P
It was for tr5-18....did you ever get that one, cos?
pini, I did see that your g'ma may not have been an Aberdonian after all...
Hello, Judith - did you get my email?
yes i did. thanks though! :)
sad, isn't it???? but we're still working on it...
JC, I'm at the other end of the scale -- a bit dozy after dinner.
No Christine - which address did you send it to - extra or clear.net
Never mind, pini, we can be cousins anyway, ok?
okey dokey!
she was still a Murray, right?
clear net -- I thought xtra was defunct?

I'm getting nowhere with my 56 missing words...
No they both are operational. I just use clear.net and forget about the other one. There were 151 unread emails in it this morning. Will look for yours at clear.
ty jellen
I'm at that end also, Jill - after the Brighton Dome. Winding down now, hoping to stay awake long enough to finish this...

Is that all, Jill? I have 80 yet to find. :P
taking koda out...I'm not going to get too far on this grid...back shortly ;)
Ooh, I think I have some Blair Atholl single malt scotch
Okay, Luv it's nothing important. Asked Marianne to join us on Babble.
Ill keep looking for it Big sis.
Ah, yes, JC -- Ian said he was in the wings with Valerie and Albie, while you were getting gussied up. It went well, I'm sure...handbags and all?
I thought I was almost finished, came back just now to find I need over 100 words.
Whoa, jellen, that sounds good, although I'm not a Scotch fan.
When were you speaking with him, Jill?
He made a comment on Yahoo about my antidisestablishmentarianism acro,
Ah, did he? Haven't looked on there yet...
May I please have a clue for as5-18 the 2nd? Thanks

You're much better at this, cosdem.
Going to hit the book now...happy hunting!
Enjoy, Jellen...
Hi Christine. A whole swathe of messages arrived together. I have responded. Jean Beaton was a friend who died last year and with whom I went to Europe in about 2006.
hi all!
I wonder how she got into my email addressbook?
this grid is too much for me tonight, so I'm just unlurking briefly to say howdy and to wish you all a lovely evening
Small dog is asking to go out for a walk. Unfortunately for her it is pouring and while I loive her to bits I dont do rain!
If I hit reply all, instead of reply, would that add a name to my address book?
Hello and a lovely evening to you, nrkii - ours was over a few hours ago. :P
Hi, nrkii
No but maybe I didn't delete it when I forwarded a message from her. I am usually so very careful about that.
J.C.... I've been working with teams in India for last 9 months, and have gotten used to just using "evening" and "morning" and terms like that in a very generic sense
Oh yes - Christine. If I showed her name on the email and you replied all it would then have put her into your address book.
instead of substituting with even more generic, "happy whatever time of day it is for you guys there"
:)
Hahaha...
they work till about 4AM their time, and at the end of the day, I feel bad saying "good night" but what else can you say at 4AM when the work day is done?
Hi nrkii - were you in India or just working with them from home?
I work in Pennsylvania, and my company has a team in India as well
so I spend most of my day on instant message and email with team members in India
Hi, I'm new. I spoke before but got no reply.
okay, down to 60 and exhausted
this grid is too much for me... good night all!
Hi KoolGamer01. I am new too but these guys make one feel right at home and part of the Babble family instantly.
Well, shouldn't have started this grid in San Fransisco as I am only now getting back to it and no chance of finishing... :(
Hi, KoolGamer01
Thanx jhb. Good to meet you.
back...
Hi Christine good to meet you too.
hi Kool
welcome to the grid, beware: you will be assimilated, resistance is futile...
Hi Pinikula.
Hi Pinikula - did you take your pooch for a walk? You are a better dog owner than me if you did.
just let him out the door...kinda cold to keep him company this late
I like this word game. Though I thought it would be a one on one instant match lol.
I take him for a 10-15 minute walk when I get home from work.
jhb is my sister, and we have members of other families here, and Jillibus and another discovered a possibly family relationship. If you don't have family here, we'll make you feel like part of the Babble family.
sorry to dissappoint, kool...but we're friendly and you can chat to your heart's content and still play!
Well I cant let mine out of the door unlessd she is on a long lead. She is the greatest escapologist known to man (or should that be woman).
That's right, Christine...Jilli and I might be distant cousins (still working out the history to see where, if at all)
Thanks for the rundown Christine. I appreciate it. :> )
Have to agree with Pinikula - I thought I would just come in and see what went on. But it is not only addictive it's very friendly.
OK Pinikul lol. Thanks.
I try, jhb...but come the rain days, he might just have to walk himself and dry off in the garage! :) (maybe)
af5 (1st?)
oooh! do we have a new babbleholic??? *rummages around for Babblers Anonymous T-shirt to give away*
hiya stid ;)
* jumping up and down * I didn't get one of those when I started!!!!
Pinikula - not now, but later = af5/16
Hiya stidmama. Do you have a shirt for me too?
hey pini! hey jhb and christine
have that one, chris...looking for the first one...is it similar?
Hey, stidmama
Pinikula - were you asking for a clue for af5?
rofl... I OFFERED to give you a CUSTOM camo babble jacket with rhinestones!
And rhinestones yet. Now I am feeling left out.
oh yeah...forgot
af5/16 -- before
thx christine!
yw
thanks christine! now down to 206... stealing time from lesson planning (of course) but REALLY needed/wanted a break
<-- doesn't do pink or rhinestones...
...working on coming up with an alternative! :)
I have 65 left to go...that's more than 1 per minute! :(
alternative to work? grow older and they let you retire.
alternative for camo-rhinestones! :)
I still need 111 - I think I can, I think I can
I'd love to retire...but I still have quite a few years to go :(
Well I still have 100 to go. Have never finished yet - and have not mastered licket's list so think I shall retire gracefully and just chat.
do you have any questions about the list, jhb, that we can help with?
considering making pini an olive drab camo jacket with twigs and strings hanging off it...
whoosh -- up for a breather to find a newbie -- hi KoolGamer -- welcome to the loony bin.
ROFL!!! thx stid!
Oh, that sounds lurrrvelly
I'd hate to poke someone's eye out!
Kool, this isn't a speed game, it's a community and you're welcome.
Still trying to understand the language - what's ROFL Pinikula?
Hi stiddie :)
jhb...using babble expert really works, email lickety and she'll email it to you
Everytime I see "kool"...I think of "kool and the gang"...
ROFL = rolling on floor laughing! :)
Rolling On The Floor Laughing. jhb
Good Evening all. I've only got 3 left and I'm stumped.
lickety = male ;)

thanks pini. *thinking*
thanks christine, but its the earlier ro 4,4 that I'm looking for. And the 5 and 6, but Im hoping the 4 will help.
the one in front of that, christine ;)
gah. didn't even think of going left with that one! LOL
Darn, I hoped os7 was the non-word. Any clues, anyone?
Thanks jillibus. Thought it was just me. But hey learning loads of new words. I think somebody up there is making up a few.

Is Kool a he or a she?
night stid ;)
(nice to see ya)
missya, stid!
no clue, jhb...not until disclosed :)
Well, jhb, aren't you the smart one -- you're supposed to stick with being the pretty one.
Bye stid. Dont you hate when work gets in the way of Babble?
we don't know -- a non-pro, like YOU, jhb (hint)
any clues on fa 7/40?
* subtle, jilli, subtle * :)
ain't no such word, jtray -- an extra in Lickety's list
thanks
;-) pini
Jilli - did I give the clue wrong? should I have been a little more obscure? Still learning the rules of chatter.
I'm totally confused here. Has anyone else got that ro 4/4?
which one?
clue, jhb? I was just pulling your leg about not knowing if Kool was a he or a she.
It's the ro 4/4 after what Elvis does that I'm struggling for.
Oh right. Now my turn to ROFL eh?
you mean, the flower??? Like in your name???
Yep, jhb :)
OMG --- Now I'm the one on the floor...
* giggle *
I cannot believe how long I've been monkeying for those three!
Oh I'm so glad that others misds the obvious words too.
Also, time to go pro -- we wouldn't know if you were male or female if it weren't for Christine ;-)
Sometimes you miss an obvious word, and sometimes you just don't remember your own name ...
Christine - how many have you now?
Thanks, Pini, but I need as5-10 the 1st please....thanks
I looked and looked for it, but I was stuck on the lower left R...
Ah, maybe Judith's a dragqueen?
I'm missing that one, too, ga
Hey Jilli - well I have been female for so long - dont really want to change. But maybe next time around?
OK, thanks anyway.
