what are you up to tomorrow jilli?
hello ru
hi flosey and Hi Jilli
have to do some computer work at the library while it's closed, and attend to Christmas cards -- and I'm late for the ones for the UK...
and I have to put together a Christmas letter on my computer for a friend who has macular degeneration
oh.. big day
yep, so not much time for Babble
and what will you be doing, ruru?
babysitting
what baby?
a friends baby
Dylan?
I'm not changing diapers though
Oh -- nice of you. What is your friend doing (no4 of my bizness)
How old is the baby?
going out to lunch with some friends... not far from our house...
6 months..
so will mrs ruru do the diaper thing?
yup
I'll hold the baby though
I bet you've picked up doggy poop, though...
and help feed it.... hopefully she'll sleep most of the time mom's gone
<--- pro at picking up doggie poop
awww, a little girl...
she is really cute
bet doggy poop doesn't stink as bad as this grid
LOL
horned beasts are in the grid
I know oxer is a word (a jump for horses) but -- grrrr - not here.

good morning everybody
Good morning ruby - hope you haven't had any more snow!
no more but it's bitterly cold, so this 3 + feet is here to stay, I'm afraid, belying the predictions of a thaw and rain today
hi all :) may i please have some help with the AE's
Morning all. All snow gone from here in London. How many words today please
Ah sounds like you are getting the dregs of our weather ruby - we have thawed out and it is +5 this morning.

geez that wasn't the correct word...O's off
o's grey, like my hair

hey Ruby, bottom I is In 7, for one
Oh and In 8 before that
monkeying.....
Grey Hair, brought a colour the other week (dtrs idea) and still haven't used it...don't wanna go Orange like once before...LOL
what many of the women of a certain age here do is go ash blondish, it blends with grey and hides the thinness!!!!
I've never dyed my hair but have thought of husing henna (neutral) to thicken it
epopee
nice hint, ty, I never would have seen it!
DAMN!!! bloody did it again...lol
the only bottom I that comes to mind is French for stainless steel.....
and the 9's and 10? total blank!

Walked away for a second and back now... belated "hi" to zooz!
sorry, hello, Diz, Ruby & Brookie :-)
:D
What is biro?
you write with it, Brookie
(Ignorant American I am)
hahah brookie!
Got it, thanks!
I didn't mean that badly, I'm American, too!
hi all = NBT for me
It's absolutely fine. :-)
peer
sorry
Hi Kaz!
hi kazzer!
WTG Kazzer!
Ruby, I lived in France for a few months, and the only reason I was treated well was because I was fluent in French at the time.
let's get some hot chocolate n the PB; it is bitterly cold here
Ruby the re10 is a redo word, re +to make known, disclose, or reveal + gerund
Thanks for the clue, Kaz! I didn't have that one! :-)
it makes all the difference. Even trying to speak pleases them
yw - and thanks for the 10
yw :-)
thank you for the 10, would have thought it had a hyphen!
I can understand their point, ruby. How would Americans feel if the French expected Americans to speak French to them when visiting America? But that's what a lot of Americans do in France, or any other country, for that matter.
brookie, when I moved here I wasn't exactly fluent.
But I'm sure you tried.
now, I'm fluent, but with an American accent, but, fortunately, I understand almost everything
even TV and movies, as long as it's not comedy which is spoken too fast and contains too much slang and vernacular
Good to hear!
True.
they don't teach those in high school!
when we went to court, I understood everything
I can totally relate.
sometimes I get very tired, though, as husband refuses to speak although he reads it much better than I. He also doesn't write it very well which is very odd!
Speaking is the hardest, probably followed by writing (unless spelling is a challenge, in which case that's reversed).
we had to learn to take down what the teacher said in jr. high, so I can write correctly, if like a teenager
but we never spoke, even in college
it took until my first trip to France when son was a baby, for me to start speaking (and he's 47!)
That's interesting. Starting in my 2nd year in high school, my French teacher would only speak French, and we could only respond in French. It was a real struggle at first! But I loved the language and ended up majoring in French in college. If I could do it all over again, though, I would have taken Italian.
that sounds like a much better method. Forotunately, that old-fashioned style gave me a good foundation but left me with a bad accent, thanks to the Bronx-accented French of my first teacher.
it's funny since, my English is not particularly regional
It sounds like you're enjoying Franch, though.
France, that is!
yes and no. It's beautiful here, but we're getting old
Would you move back to the U.S.?
it's too late for that and probably couldn't afford it. And anyway, I planted about 20 trees on the property, 13 years ago
Gotta go now, ruby (and all lurkers!). Enjoy the day!
bye brookie, nice chatting with you!
You too!
115 words and saving the rest (hahah) for later
{{zzoozz}} if you're still there
si
(((Ruby))) sorry was just getting my bath water ready.

morning all...
Hi, anyone left!
Morning Sally, just about to go and do scrambled egg and bacon on toast :)
Sounds good FM!. We are going out to lunch so no breakfast for me, just coffee.
Is the weather being kind to you today?
Frozen slush and snow here, not nice. Was so cold and damp this morning that I couldn't turn off the electric fence. However I was wearing wellingtons and was very brave!
eek!
Interesting grid today, takes some working at.
Had been told that I would be insulated with rubber boots but had never been grave enough to try.
brb
Back. Eek! grave should have read brave.
lol
grave might work too
Time for me to pootle off as tum is rumbling. Have a good lunch.
bye for now.
Well, for any lurkers, will be off for the moment, still have 40 to find for later.

Hope you have a good one ruby
ty sara
Thanks for the re 8 and 9, but still not getting the 10/126
What is the en6 before the en7, please
gran, Molly's clue at 6.33 is a good one - perhaps you are too pure to get it. It starts at the bottom right of the grid and works up to the top left. Good luck.
Marc, a navy rank.
I have that one it is the other one I need that one isn't the one before the en7 I don't think?
Gran re+ex8
OK, the other en6. en+ old fashioned word for surrounded by. In the Australian national anthem.

1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5....
morning all... dont you hate it when you accidentally fall asleep in your dinner? :o/
monkey LOL
hi Une :) Hey guess what we had a little snow last night... this AM about 1/2 inch of snow on the cars but the ground is just wet from rain
dmch i have never fallen asleep in my dinner
monkey, got an email report this morning re the 4 rescue dogs from TN and AR that I helped transport yesterday -- they overnighted in VA and had a BLAST rolling around in the snow!
oh, guess it's just me then... :o\
ha! nice.... i'm on the east coast of VA, on the York River... I'm sure the western and northern parts of VA got more snow than I did
well, I HAVE fallen asleep on my keyboard :-)
Une, I CANNOT believe you just wrote that! I got an email this morning saying we have been approved to adopt a stray from Ala, and it's being transported next weekend....
dfm, i' am just too much of a piggie to fall asleep if there's food nearby , heehee
oooh, good for you, Trifi :) What a nice Xms gift!
how cool, trif!! details, please! :-)
lets see, its a male, half german shep, half lab, and its teeeeeny, about 8 weeks old, I guess
but sounds like he's gonna grow up to be a BIG boy :-)
he's a gift for diggity, who has been lonely lately
one of the dogs I transported yesterday was a 4 month old shepherd mix female -- sooooooo cute!

hello peeps!
hi TO!
hi dfm!
halloooooooooo?
you killed chat, TO! :oO
and now you made it look like I did :o(
I got the 10. But I don't see why repo**(with gerund) is not a word- it's a lot more common.
And good morning from the sick bay.
hi kap :o)
I think re4** requires a dash.
Well, to be fair, so should the 10. I know, I know- Enable is not fair.
oh, thanks for the re10 ;o)
:)
Everyone is hunting for that 10...
Come back, come back!!!
*runs away*
Where are yo going?
dunno... but I guess as long as it takes me away from you it's fine ;oP
That's not very friendly, dfm. :(
... that statement implies that I have been friendly in the past... what have I done wrong? :oO
whatever.
hi kap= bye all
come on now lets all get along!
hi bye TO
Ummm...entering chog very tentatively...good morning?
hi shorty, car :o)

I bet you two looked awesome. So glad to hear you had a good time.
thanks Molly... hang on I'm trying to post a pic right now
having tech difficulties
anyone have clue for pe8/9 combo? does it build off the pe5 (weiner)?
haha i tried to put the gerund on the pe5 but it isn't a word LOL
*wonders what lil is thinking*
dont think so but is a name you could call the sharp end of a writing implement
doesn't build off the pe5, but a pe3?
OK
is it a gerund?
you mean, a nib, kazz? ;o) (hi kaz)
no
not a gerund
OK
got em
now looking for pe7 after the ink instrument... is that a gerund?
no
its what you get when you retire
OK i got it FISH ME... thanks Kazzer
i think i really did kill chat...
*casts a line for lil*

looking for the last pe6 , right before the other wierner nickname
oooh thanks Owl

yes owl, it was great, i tried to post a pic just now but had tech diff
i can't drink :(
i do not want to think about drinking right now
why not TO? :o(
ok i'll think about it enough for both of us
i have my xmas work party on thursday this week - I have bene organizing it
doctor's orders
i'm not even going
thats a shame - I know lets all be naughty one day before Xmas and have a party in the PB
please someone! a clue for the pe6,21
dont have that one yet
actually i did have an idea for a babble christmas party theme. er, holiday party
we can dress up and have a pollyanna
what is a pllyanna
everyone buys a gift and then exchange. pollyannas is actually when you have a specific person. or you can put gifts on table, draw numbers for who picks first. next person can wither steel the first gift or pick another, etc
sorry, second person can either steel the first gift or choose one. and so on. a gift may only be stolen twice.
bit like secret santas
we're going to have that at work, but it's not called pollyanna
damn i KNOW it's steAl who do i keep misspelling
i don't like the stealing part, i would rather choose a gift for a specific person and not have it stolen
well those marines you know :/
I'm with you lil
no, not marines
they like to get big bottles of bubble bath that look like wine
I miss just plain ol' gift giving without the silly games - my siblings always want to do something stupid
on my end they are
i have 69 left but i am off to look at the list if its about
52 left here
this years xmas party is being organized by me and we are just having a nice meal with a present for all
i miss having many things i would like some very inexpensive but no one ever asks or tries to find out. i want the bob dylan mono set and a dutch oven this year.
i like your style, kazzer
fairly modest wants
wow, don't know what to say
missing two As... any hints? :o/
though i do need a final question for my quiz - it needs to sound like a question but is in fact a daft joke
which As, dfmch?
dunno, don't use list.
I do not want to be asked... if you know me, you know the things I like... if you don't know me, I do not need a gift from you... I'd rather just spend time with people. I only buy "experience" gifts now for my nephews... things we can do together
have 1ai 3an 3ar 3ax
you need 2 AEs
never mind, found them... didn't notice the E >.>
i am buying myself a tv. mine is so old is does not even get any channel above 64!!! kje i agree, but this is FAMILY. i think it's sad. i feel very awkward getting their gifts sometimes for that very reason.
ditto, TO - my brother especially still buys me things and says "this looked just like you"... and I think, well, maybe when I was 12 - but that is OK, he put thought into it and that is what matters mostly
I am buying myself a pair of Frye lace up knee high boots... gorgeous
nonene is totally a word >:o(
oooh awesome kje.... love Frye boots
super!
i am jealous that you can wear knee high boots. i can't.
why?
OK i need a break.. BBL
bye monkey, hagd
bye monkeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
bye lil

ok peeps, time to make hospital visit then head home. happy babbling to all!
bye TO!
and i need to stoptyping insignia
just the O...
TO that's close... now use the singular...
good morning everyone:)
Hi Crossy!
hey car
Hi TO!
*poof*
crossy looks out the window at 3 feet of snow and curses instant winter
now there is a word that does not show up in the grid often pe 6/27
one more t and we would of had the long thin dried spicy meat stick
jerky?
close
pe 6/26 ette
never heard of those
you call them slim jims down south
i call them p6 oni
ah
that is different again
and .. hi, folks!
slim jim is a name brand, we call them beef sticks
in8?
schniders brands them the other way but viva la differance
yes, i think of the *onis as being fatter
they are
and the ettes are 1/4 of the diameter
oh i get it ... when i lived in the states, you bought pe6 oni in an italian grocery .. good on pizza, with provolone. there were slim jims in the regular stores. here, in alberta anyway, pe6 oni is both the real italian stuff AND the slim jim stuff
(and neither of them taste like the pe6 oni i had back east)
mmm pizza with p6oni and provalone....
Uh oh...maybe we shouldn't talk stick meats in front of Crossy!
i do not like meat on my pizza
and why not? i am allowed to eat those more than bacon
hi crosy, welki! :o)
howdy dfm
Oh, OK then! Was just trying to be supportive in your non-bacon efforts!
yummmmmm...auricchio provolone
sadly i own bacon and bacon owns me..till the dr catches me and runs a lipid test
hi dfm :)
Now I want a pizza...
Uh oh...have you strayed Crossy?
provalone rocks!! but $$$$$
i want real pe6 oni and auricchio provolone (which i can't find here .. or haven't yet, anyway)
back again - been looking for a strange christmas fact for the work quiz
hello my name is paul..and i am a bacon-holic..it has been 2 weeks since my last bacon....
Hello Paul! Stay strong!
oh no crossy - not bacon confessions - we have been munching it this week
finally found that in8

that is the oldest x-mass tree decoration
fun i think - I have a lot of tricksy ones but i want a fun one to end with
aww, crossy, you've done it again...
but my bed is too comfy from which to get up... >:o(
Cool! I hope the "new babble" allows for click on links!
Do they have a picture of the ornament anywhere?

i might however go for the Harry Potter option
sorry no pic
?
have to go to the museum in lavita to see it;))
Unfortunately, not in my travel plans or budget!
if i manage to get there - I will take photo and post it
TY Kazz!
good morning, babblers - how is everyone?
Hi JBV! :o)
{{JBV}}
very quiet here right now, I am stopping in to babble between the mundane tasks on my to-do list, one step at a time
I am fine JBV, and how are you?
yay fireworks ^.^
Set small goals, JBV. Don't try to tackle it all at once.
Congrats DFM!
I'm OK, car, thanks - my sister and brother-in-law left on Friday, brother and his two sons left yesterday, today it's just me and my son (who's sleeping right now)
yes, fortunately, I'm good at organizing myself - have many small projects but I am not overwhelmed yet :)
hey, jbv! don't know if you noticed the other day, but when you said you live near rutgers, i mentioned that my oldest daughter (i have two who've graduated from rutgers) lives in somerset. she and her husband are paramedics out of rw johnson
That silence can either bring you peace or be deafening. I hope that you will find peace, but know that I am here if you need me!
yes, welki I saw that your daughter was in somerset, but I did not know that she was an EMT - my husband was taken to the hospital twice in November by ambulance so maybe we met her!
thank you very much , car
so ... next time i'm in your neck of the woods, let's go for a brew at harvest moon :)
My goodness, JBV! Just read you post from yesterday...what an incredible tribute! So many friends and family!
oh, sure, welki - I'd love to -
car - my husband was a former principal and school administrator and very, very active in community affairs and organizations representing the Latino community - so it was an outpouring of love - very moving and very comforint
comforting
I have to share something funny....
Yes please!
ugh, just read todays weather report ANOTHER foot of blowing ad drifting snow with many secondary roads becoming impassable tonight winds to 50k causing blowing and drifting and total white-outs...good day to stay home:)
people offer kind words, words of encouragement, support, advice, etc..... but sometimes they come out with some weird things.. Someone who obviously doesn't know me very well said, "take care of yourself, and DON'T FORGET TO EAT!"
lol jbv,i never get that said to me
lol ... understood! telling me to not forget to eat would be like telling me to not forget to breathe!
I have never forgotten to eat in my entire life - in fact this week with my sister and brother was more like a food fest than anything else :) (we're Italian, what can I say)
Me either! I would be very happy to come and eat with you though!!! Tee hee!
speaking of which..i feel a crossy brand breakfast coming on.....
uno
and someone else - who does not know about my Italian classes, translation projects, genealogy research, book clubs, etc. said, "Try to keep busy"
finito
(stomach growling...food...glorious food!)
Congrats KJE!
congrats, KJE!
can clue for a miute r 2 if needed
congrats kje!
Oh JBV! It is funny what people will say when they don't kow what to say!
I know it's the thought that counts
crossy, please don't describe your breakast, you're gonna make me want to get out of bed and run over the store again...
gm everyone.. HUGS JBV..
hi ruru! :o)
Good morning Ruru! Just in time...Crossy is about to make us all breakfast!

gm kje.
recieved the wine friday... will need to try it later this week... fave meal with it?
can you stick around to clue 60 for me? lol
No! Drive to Massachusetts!
scallops...with truffle oil and grilled taters
lol, drive?? they are about to shut down our roads, walking might be an issue soon nevermind driving
(oh, by the way, no snow up here... just fog... and ice... :o( )
But we have NO snow here, so you will be heading to better driving conditions1
a total of 3 feet in the last 3 days with another foot tonight
yes it is always best to let a wine rest for a while from shipping before enjoying it.
hi all, help with in on bottom row pls
but he'll need to cross the border!
in + sh 6/21
i@(2,5) in8/45 to hold sacred in7/36 badge

I actually have some truffle oil - will have scallops later this week and test your matching skills ; )
dfm...please elaborate on the in 7/36 please?
too much to drink last night?
no--fat fingers
oh, and hi peri :o)
can I come for dinner, kje, sounds delish, ruru and kje
*imagining cover canadians with ashes as they cross the border*
that would be a long drive, peri
it would also be good with any white fish kje
*sigh* yes it would
but I LOVE scallops... with a perfect sear... yum!
NM! Figured it out!
not seeing the in7 or in8 or any of the long words today
clue pls car
it can take some spiciness too the viognier adds a richness and front end fruitiiness to the wine
I am right here on the water in Massachusetts...we can get fresh scallops right off the boat.....
viognier is my fave white grape

yw :-)
Hi Une!
crab would be delish too
hi une
hi Une! :o)
why am I struggling so much with this dumb grid
I was too ruru :o(
hey ruru and dfmchfhf :-)
hungover?
early dementia?
i saw chunk crab meat in a tin at the store yesterday for 6 dollars a tin...not bad when you consider the scraps of meat you dig out of those pathetic crab legs at a restaraunt
stupidity?
LOL
hungover is a possibility
PHLLLFFFFFTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!
OK...must go pick up my son's buddy. My baby is 8 today!!!!!!!
canned does not even compare to fresh, crossy
(wiping spittle off screen from ruru)
I concur with meanie
have fun, car!
i think out of a plate of legs at the seafood eatery i to a total of about 5 tbs of meat after an hour of digging
We will!
you need to learn to pick a crab then
the crabs you get at an eatery are not the quality you can get at a fish store
that is one thing I miss a lot about MD... the chesapeake bay blue crabs
:o/ I don't even total one Tbs.
kje is a crab expert .. she's crabby all the time
i love in northern ontario,we have a distinct lack of crab picking places
BTW...here is a little holiday joy from my boys:
sorry: http://elfyourself.jibjab.com/view/hnP nCiGgYSFgU2N1VaqL
I am nothing but sweetness and light
*cough*
here too, cross... thus I wait until I am on the coast and get the good stuff
*slaps ru on the back*
*laughing hysterically*
cough...
makes you sound like a coffee additive kje
it is true, ru... I can't even go out in the rain, I am so sweet
you can't go out in the rain because you'd melt
and be careful, sm8 - you still need clues
I'm beyond cluing in this grid.. I 'm lost
clueless? yes, I can see that
*not what I said*
lol
holy sh**!!!! for those prices, that wine better be phenom
jeez . . . 48 to go . . . taking a coffee break -- maybe giant words will pop out at me when I return!
it is really, really, really good
hello again, dinner is heating
for $250-300 per bottle it better be
116 words at various times during the day
Ooh! More food! Ruby! What are we having?
wine no mater what the label is just a bottle of plonk to me..wasted on my palette, would be like giving a pig a strawberry lol
hi {{ruby}}!

please do not post words here
someone contact dr g?
Good morning/afternoon all.
I just opened chat- what has happened?
Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of the party.
Time and tide wait for no man.
Why did someone post all the words?
we just had all of todays words dumped into chat it seems
Out of sight, out of mind.
Do as you would be done by.
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
What the ...
Too many cooks spoil the broth.
haz - LOL
a rolling stone gathers no moss
what the heck?
If you can't stand the heat stay out of the kitchen or invest in air conditioning.
That usually happens latter in the day :o/
We're trying to get rid of the list.
too many chiefs and not enough indians
If you keep talking it'll go.
oh- I'll help.
Blah blah blah
Too many babblets and not enough real words.
How did it happen- is it trolling or an honest mistake?
is that the same as 'if you build it, they will come'?
I have never had fireworks, but don't want it done this way! See ya
I have never had fireworks, but don't want it done this way! See ya
howdy cherry
the list shall be gone soon
If you look at the poster's name it'll give a subtle hint.
This has been happening for four of the last ni4 grids.
Keep right on to the end of the road.
it is off the screen - just don't look
Keep right on to the end.
I checked in with Dr G..
Well, I got the in8, but can't take credit
cool
And Dr G says?
Sabotage?
i shall just chat till all that vanishes
has this been happening ofte?
i am stuck on the en 6/24 and en7/28
I can stop spouting nonsense? The good Doctor has been informed.
blah blah blah
en 6 is a level in the navy
can he remove it?
nope,keep spouting for now
other en is to trap
that one I don't see
Blah blah blah
blah blah blah
need a nice long story
now I do. thanks shir
en + trap
Once upon a time
Those who love you are not fooled by mistakes you have made or dark images you hold about yourself. They remember your beauty when you feel ugly; your wholeness when you are broken; your innocence when you feel guilty; and your purpose when you are confused.
gone!
thought for the day
I think it is a loop type trap used to catch birds?
Crossy, I like it.
k,list is gone...yaaa!
that was wild! I've never seen that happen before
Ugh crossie .. I haven't been innocent for a looooong looong time
the name said it all
i have, intentional sabotage by the trolls
yeah, i think it was trolly
I missed the name, what was it?
I only saw one word, which pluralised and took my glasses off so nothing was defined enough. Imust be nuts as I'm not going to finish...
It usually happens later in the day... been getting earlier the last two times.
It was a troll thing- what was the name again?
poopy crap or something like that
when I started playing babble someone just startied typing in all the words in the chat.. while other players were begging her to stop.. she didn't even know she was doing it
hi patxxx
Hello, ruby.
there are peeps with nothing to do
aeoning
poopstainz
Gee, I hope s/he got his/her little thrill
thats it
funny name!
why can't the trolls be more creative?
hi haz
don't personify it, kap.
Oh, ruru, don't tempt fate.
oh well... guess there is no need to clue now ; ) I am off to do something productive - hagd all
Personify?
Bye, kje.
I still have 47 to go..
35.
I still have 47 and no possibility!

Dr God has removed the list from the chat
yeah... thanks hoot
morning all
He's so clever.
hello hoot
Good morning, hootowl.
ooh yay :o)
hi hoot
howdy hoot
A little, thanks. But I wish I could have a copule more days off .
Thans Ruby.
we love you dr g..btw how is the new babble coming?
shall I write a note for you?
wonder when someone's gonna try some injection next, and whether the site is okay with it...
I wish he would give the delete power to some of the players who've been here a long time to eliminate them more quickly
Ru - I found a tee you might like! It says "A Pun at Maturity is Fully Groan"
Signals.com
I love it, hoot!
I was going to accuse you of crawling, crossy, then realised I'd been throwing out a bit of flattery myself.
You would have to write it to myself- Self-employ=no sicktime
ruru...that kind of power is dangerous
I have sworn off of punning now ...
it'ld be nice if users could give negative ratings to players, then those chat messages are auto-hidden...
You'd have to pass some sort of test to see if you were worthy of that kind of power.
m9 should get one too!
I fell on the ice today but did n't get hurt, am still angry with DH for putting cinders everywhere but where I needed to walk
FINISHED! VERY EXCELLENT!
Oh don't do it on my account!
He'll not have done it deliberately, ruby. He just wasn't thinking.
Well done godthaab!
yay godthaab
lol dfm, with that set up,i would vanish in a hurry!
congrats godthaab :o)
congrats godthaab
Congrats.
aww ruby Do: hope you're fine...
I don't think so, dfm, I think that is basically a self-solving problem
I would vanish with you.
I was lucky
crawling??
it is really nasty here, extremely cold with a lot of snow on top of ice
tino
it would give us some degree of control over the situation, at least.
tino?
but this assortment of people is really interesting and fun
i used to be admin for gamespy.com,perhaps i should talk with dr g....
Crawling = doing a Uriah Heap, being all obsequious. Not a Canadian expression, crossy?
Patxx, noting your icon, I watched a really trippy Betty Boop with Cab Calloway yesterday on u-tube.
still means nothing
Sorry. Haven't been looking. Did I do anymore? Jinxed,
and it would come down to a question of personal taste -- too much like high school!
It had been banned because it was too druggy.
also I figured out why my browser was crashing :o)
I like that def of crawling, haz, never heard that before but it's really vivid
mm i must be missing something here but have a nice day anyways haz,i must get brunch going biab..semi-poof!
inoperand
Careful Patxxx.
LOL patxxx
That's it. Off to warm up and give up today.
ty pat xxx
At least one foot in the PB
how is the weather in the UK? Does it give me hope?
It's still freezing here, ruby, but it's maybe different across the water.
I think the systems move from the UK to here in about 2 days
it is so cold!
I need a break.. I'm not seeing much...
bye ruru
dinner here
bye ruru!
Bye ruby and ruru.
good morning everyone
bye ruby!
hi flosey! :o)
Hello, flosey.
GM!
Greetings all.
was having trouble with this grid last night - hope it was just because I was tired
Hello, FM.
hi FM! :o)
It has it's gritty bits flosey.
Heloo Haz, dfm et al.
i am back again - had a minor emergency - bus didnt turn up until 30 minues after it was due and son was panicking - but he phoned again to say that it turned up
stuck on in8, does anyone have a clue? please?
is it snowing there kaz? Hate when they do that :o(
v glad for lickety today.
in8/45 to hold sacred
thanks dfm
in8 - in plus a place where people put things to show affection or worship of someone.
Haz, intreagued by your spiced apple pork today - what ingredients do you use?
thanks Haz, still looking
It's kind of made up/adapted. Loin of pork, coriander/cumin on top with apple and clove jelly, cooked in foil with chicken stock and apple juice - keeps it nice and moist. Served with a kind of hot apple sauce, again with some of the clove jelly melted in.
that sounds delicious, Haz
oh yum will have to give that a try.
There's not a lot left so it went down well!
a good cluer and a good cook!
The sticky toffee pudding was good - a Jamie Oliver recipe.
Greetings!
Hello, Scrabbler!
hi scrabs! :o)
morning Scrabs
Scrabs!! hello :)
hello
Hello, hurshy. Is your dad still okay?
I just watched the 2st 2 episodes of MI-5, season 1---WOW! I am loving it but I CANNOT multitask when watching--there are so many details to look for.
hello hurshy
Hurshy--been thinking of you! Haven't seen you recently. Doing OK?
yes, he is still sedated but they are gradually easing up on it and gradually allowing his lungs to take over more from the vent
Hi hurshy how is your Dad doing?
hi hurshy! :o)
unfortunately i have caught a cold and cannot be with him for today at least :(
((hurshy))
Uh, oh, what happened to your father?
Good, glad he's making progress. An anxious time for all of you.
he had an aortic dissection.
Well, then, he is LUCKY to be alive. The diagnosis is often made post-mortem. Wow is he lucky.
i know.
Hursh, glad to hear your Dad is doing better.
Did he have symptoms or did a routine sonogram reveal it?
he was lucky to be at work where people noticed he looked unwell and called 911. he would never have done anything had he been by himself.
he had chest pain, numbness, shortness of breath, dizziness
he was lucky the people diagnosing him figured it out correctly.
he was lucky the best cardiothoracic surgeon was available and did his surgery.
I am AMAZED with his good fortune.
yes, i am very thankful for all this. i just hope he does not later waste it. i am very worried whether he will follow instructions or not. i can see him wanting to lift or move something and thinking, oh, it will probably be fine, and it doesn't matter if i die anyway.
one day at a time, don't start fretting about that now.
He'll maybe be so weak it'll take him a while to get the strength to do anything. And what FM said.
ep6 ?
It's his option to be non-compliant and that is a common choice throughout life, but he will be quite sore and exhausted for several wks.
ep6 - e plus the Head of the RC church, use double vowel at the end.
he will be exhausted just at first, yet. it's when he feels better that i'm worried about.
i meant yes, not yet.
TY, Haz.
26 degrees and a foot of snow here, Ruru. How is So Cal?
You're welcome.
Hey ruru!
i told my mom if he does really wake up today to call me so i can go in for a bit with a mask at least.
is that the Po'4's email website?
gm FM
Yes, wash your hands, wear a mask, don't touch face, and you are not contagious.
Good to see you ruru.
mid 50's here in NOR cal.. scrabs
Haha, Ruru. The word reminds me of apogee.
I thought you were in San Diego.
Hi folks. Back from veeeery long lunch, just sat down to finish this grid off!
I live in the wine country in Northern California
oh scrabbler, perhaps you can set my mind at ease a bit about that - yesterday i must have been coming down with it. i did not touch his face, only his hand, and of course he's not using those at the moment. i wasn't ever terribly near his head, but i have been worrying whether just being in the room breathing could have passed this to him, cause i know that people are most contagious when coming down with things and early on. what do you think?
Okay, husband wants computer so I'll sign off. Enjoy the grid and best wishes for your dad's recovery and for more peace of mind for you, hurshy. Bye for now!
thank you haz, ttfn
i'm stuck....re10? does it come from the re9?
ex 8./ 80?
A cold virus is actually the least dangerous germ. A hospital is loaded with really bad bacteria.
re 10 revolves around pulling your pants down again
and again
Ruru, OK, I looked up Napa Valley. My cousin just moved to Gilroy a couple of months ago.
well i don't KNOW i have a cold. it seems like a cold but what if it is flu or something else?
any clues for the in 8 please
ty...that's the ex ruru is looking for
Hi Sally
Gilroy used to be the garlic capital of the world. Now it's all grown in China
stop flashing us ruru!
in + the place where you worship an idol
H, if you have the flu (and I have not heard that it has begun in the US yet) you would be much more ill--aches, cough, bad headache and unlikely to get out of bed.
*can't help myself fm..lol*
lol
Not inaltar...looking
i was achy last night but not so much today. i have had lots of headaches lately so that doesn't tell me anything.
thanks phaeton I had that ex 8 loaded in the wrong spot
done
back..my boy has had a never ending series of colds,i swear that school is a breeding ground for it,that we have had to delay our family flu shots time and time again
hi sally! :o)
Congrats Phaeton!
so, ruru, are you looking for the other ex8?
congrats phae!
No need to delay the flu shot because of a cold.
Hi dfm. Nice to know I'm not invisible :-)
yes.
I am confused about the ex's
I need the first one
thnx for in 8
Hi Sally, missed yo coming into the log.
waitwhat we're pretending that sally is invisibible? Okay then ;oP
in altar, or is something else?
I said hi too, Sally! *waving across the pond*
Sniffs.
.. and I missed Haz going :(
ex8...mathematical term
(wave from the PB there scrabs*)
scrabbs, PB for you... :oP
so it is ok if he is barking, and dripping? we can still get the shot?
Oops, po4 is in the grid. *skipping to the PB*
which i does it run from?
Hi Scrabs! How are the bunnies today?
The base is an op7 of the ex8 function.
Cross, the flu shot is inactive and vaccines are contraindicated only for serious illnesses. Yes, you need the shot ASAP to develop protective antibodies before flu season hits.
bottom i smaa
The bunnies are all sleeping--they perk up at dawn + dusk.
k,will do
Good lunch Sally?
And, crossy, we get creamed with tens of thousands of germs every day.
Yes FM. Smoked salmon with lemon and mint, then roast beef with all the trimmings, then a pudding called a chocolate volcano. I nearly asked for the chocolate etna, but thought it was too much of an in-joke!
LOL and sounds delish!
I did however ask for the chocolate vesuvius and got a very blank look.
My point, Cross, is that our immune system can handle a lot, including vaccines while we are ill. Exceptions, in some cases, = live vaccines (MMR, chicken pox, etc)
What do they know!
MMR?
So the in6 (in + worship place) comes from the bottom i?
Did you enjoy your scrambled egg and bacon FM?
yes Scrabs
oh yes it was scrummy.
I see no place to worship word, alas.
in8, scrabs
sorry Scrabs it is the in8 that comes from there
Ooo, Sally's lunch makes me hungry!
not so much a place to worship, there is a one of these in Harrods, a ****** to Diana and Dodi
hello everybody
? temple
Good grief, is there really jacq?
Hi jacq
brb
yes sally, or there used to be
hi jac! :o)
Scrabs, you often see these at the side of the road where there has been an accident, especially in RC countries.
not temple either it begins with the letters we use to quiet people
Newsflash: I finally found the worship word and then in8. Phew, I am dense this AM.
thanksjacq that helped a lot.. and hi all
scrabs... there is a children's hospital run by the ******rs
actually a bunch of them
Hi N!!
and hi all
Hi Doren!
there is a orad here sally and almost every tree at the side has a plaque on it dedicated to people who died on the road
hi nrkii! :o)
hi.. not chatting much... arthritis/tendonitis = wrist/thumb brace and i probably shouldn't do much typing
hi Dorens! :o)
same here Dorens, and it seems much worse in this cold weather
sorry to hear it dorens
aww, that sucks :o(
i should send you a copy of my speech to type program dorens...
Oh, our poor bodies are hurting---Fuquay Varina's shoulder, your wrist, Feather's removed wisdom teeth, my knee...
And poor jacq
jacq has one coming to her as we speak..did you get it yet jacq?
course i couldn't give up babbling unless absolutely necessary-- and how is the patella scrabs? and wouldn that actually work crossy?
Just think though Scrabs we probably make up one whole healthy person between us.
not yet crossy, but the roads and train stations and airports have been closed lol
:((
it will arrive son i'm sure
i put in a post card showing our little town on the bay
Bruised, swollen and mildly painful when walking, so no snowshoeing today. I am attending a funeral and then luncheon starting at 2.
i spoke to my mums old boss, her employer put it on her comp at work because she has bad arthritus and she said it even types doric
aw cool crossy, ty
ach! sorry scrabb... sure you're icing, yes?
post cards crossy?
oh, misread your comment... nm :)
Not yet today, Doren.
indeed nrkii
grr this grid is doing my head in today - still got 34 left and seem to be getting nowhere - even with the list
crossy- how does it work?
Help with re10--something about putting one's pants on again?
There are some hard to find ones, aren't there.
more like taking them off again scrabbler
No scrabs, taking them off. Also a photographic term.
well i have all the long ones its the 4-7 that arent working
Oh, I get it now--got 2 words from that clue.
more tha 2
dorens it is called 'dragon naturally speaking, and what you do is read to it so it learns your voice and it will types words or hunt down web sites as you speak..once you have it 'trained' it can type up to 160 wpm
i have used it in babble with no problem
but is best when you are alone or in your own office or space
What happens if you have a sore throad or a cold crossy?
wow -- my cell phone can supposedly do somethin like that but when i tell it "call louie" it sometimes thinks i have said call matt -- hope it works better than that
it does
morning all
*giggling* Found pe5.
so dd the re10/s heehee
Hi Big Red
if it makes a mistake, you just hilight it and retrain it on that word by repeating the way you say it three times
:o/ I should get Dragon... eventually...
OK, sounds good.
i have version 10
re5, huh? *looking*
aww, scrabs, you're a pediatrician too, why the giggle?
that is cool cross... if i don't improve soon i'll look into it, thanks
lol Scrabs the ex8/80 and re10/126 will make you laugh too.
hey doren
it is a 300 dollar program dorens, but later we can make arrangements and i can send you a copy.....
and yesterday's se5/12+6/18 probably did too
brb.. need to make a cappucino for mrs ru
but in this cold weather it might need medical help.
i'd like one too ruru
We don't use the word pe5, nor do most parents--we use weewee, his thing, johnson, peepee, dingdong, wang, jigger---parents teach me new words everyday.
considering pe5 is right near it FM.. yes very funny
Hello Dorens!
FM!
his wammalammadingdong...:)
hey crossy, for how many machines is one copy of Dragon valid?
lol crossy!
hi fn, sally and others - am typin with jus one hand, mildly frustrating
Haha, Cross.
lol add package to your list Scrabbs compliments of my brother in law
learn LH Dvorak, Dorens! ;o)
well..technically one..but you can have multiple users if you share a computer, but since it is not like a game,i can make copies for friends
(or RH Dvorak, depending on which hand)
We use willy here, which is why the film caused such laughter in the UK. (Free Willy - you can imagine the jokes.)
Package, frank + beans, etc
hahasally
i particularly like pookydoodle
and yes dfm all would have my product key..so no upgrading it
Yes, willy...haha, so much creativity.
pookydoodle! LOL
but version 10 is nice, really needs no upgrading
LOL, Doren
sounds like a poodle mix to me
Alright, what is the silly re5?
Alright, what is the silly re5?
my tough big black boyfriend 6'3", 225 pounds, basketball star, football star... he uses that term
cars taken back by the lenders?
ra4/4 with a cons at the end.
you have a new boyfriend?
No, Doren mentioned a silly re5/10.
hard to explain, ruru. an old one actually -- been together on and off from 92 to now. keep trying to break away, for various reasons, but i really do love the man truly will always do
does he have a wine cellar too doren
and he can share NONE of my glorious wine... in "recovery"
awe Dorens.
I could understand trying to break away from a man who calls his genetailia pookiedoodle
rofl ruru
hahah, ru
pookiedoodle? o.0
mm just found french for peas
Priceless ruru! I was going to say a Kodak moment but that really would have been inappropriate.
*wonders how THAT goes over in the locker room*
I must get ready to go to the funeral. BBL, friends.
ha ru. the joke is that he doesn't look like that type at all... and of course he only uses that word with me, you silly man
Take care Scrabs.
*giggle*
bye scrabs
tc scwabby
bye scrabs :o)
Goodness, that gerund ending is useful today.
gotta go.. my sister is here and she doesn't understand that i am in the middle of a conversation so i'll see you later.. like when i'm home tonight (in boston now)
and the x gets a good usage too.
wow what a fun chat today....add an ole' victorian name to the list "member"
Bye Dorens and Hi MP
cya dorens , afternoon MP
the nastiest thing I ever did in my hs years was to read a few pages in a book some girls had in the bathroom called Lady Chatterlee's something and we read his member and giggled up a storm...I thought that was so funny al though I never saw one until I married!!!
hi MP! :o)
hi all!
howdy mp
Bacon in the house!!!!
Bacon?
lol MP
For Crossy!
until you married you hadn't seen one?
*adjusts MP's halo slightly*
ok,someone said bacon!
That would have been Lady Chatterly's Lover by D H Lawrence.
No..that was back in 1967 when I married at 18...
omg
I was so shy back then...had a nickname of "Giggly Goff"...Goff was my maiden name...
When I graduated and got my first job I worked with 250 mem at the electric company and they gave me a new name...Sunshine!
*men*
mem (short for members>?)
My boss said I cleaned up the office talk as none of them would curse in front of me...
Sunshine - great name!
cute ru...a freudian slip???
<--- cute
Yes it is my nicname til this day...I really like it also...it makes me think happy thoughts!
pe8?
yes ru....he is soooo cute!
oh great going MP, you made ruru all narcissistic now.
enough about me DF.. let's talk about you.. what do you think about me?
lol
pe8 and pl for the 9 = take a biro and make a mark.

bye kazz congrats
Bye KAzz
congrats and bye kazz! :o)
I can't find the first ex 7
oh I thought it was how one who has too much to drink asks for more...Give me another biro!!!
8 I mean.. the 8/70
never thought that we might be the only folks taht call pe4 biros
The ballpoint pen was invented by Laszlo Biro in 1938 and a patent battle erupted
No, that's a screwdriver.
well my biro's work fine with their non existant ink :) cheers Sally.
It's fun, isn't it, finding out what words are so common here and not elsewhere, and vice versa.
Well, it looks like we're Poop Stain-free. (Man, the sentences you find yourself typing sometimes...) His scourge has at least galvanized me to finish the new site quicker, so that you guys have the ability to mute/kick trolls. Time for me to go watch the Bears. Here's hoping you guys have a Poop Stain-less afternoon!
ex 8 - an expert on something i think - one who give forth
Was there a troll earlier that I missed?
Many thanks Dr_G and good to see you!
Hi Dr_G! :o)
hey dr god.. how about allowing a couple of players like haz and une an elder be able to get rid of trolls
so that you don't have to all the time
Go Bears!
someone posted the whole word list Sally
No ruru the suggestion in the new Babble is that we can hit an "ignore" or "hide" button for a particular person, Dr-G won't have to do it.
Thanks Dr. G. Sorry you had to clean up the poop stains. Have fun watching DA BEARS.
Thank you Dr. God for giving us all such a fun game...we all sincerely appreciate all your hard work! Throws hat high in the air along with confetti!
nitey nite all will be back at some point tomorrow - but not the morning as i have to out at an ungodly hour again
Oh that's awful FM! Glad I was having lunch :-)

Hi, all - what, pray tell, is the 3rd 9 - I have a pe9 and an re9
hi rbud pe9 re9 re9
ah, I suspected as much, darn re's! ty
hey rbud!
hi, stid! been following your accomplishments sporadically on facebook - how goes it?
it's okay rbud, anxious (as usual) about how things are really going, but also excited about next quarter now that I have some accomodations for the vision problems
how about yourself?
hi all
hey boo!
hi boo :o)
hi dfm
need that i on the bottom for NBT -- any help?
i@(2,5) in8/45 to hold sacred in7/36 badge
thanks dfm *thinking*
clue for an 6 please
got one! (NBT) now for the other
an 6: to put oil on while sanctifying?
an6/18 + pres. an7/28 to apply ceremonial oils
sorry, distracted by cat demanding sustenance - all's fairly well here, shoveling out, got our first snow of the season yesterday, about a foot.
ty
that's a fair bit of snow, for sure! *reminds self to find snow shovel again* we had 6" two weeks ago and it pretty well shut down western washington... LOL
oh, I'll betI i lived in Bellingham one winter, half an inch one day and cars were all over the road on our hill, lol!
yep! that's about right! LOL
hey dfm -- need more on the "hold sacred" in 8 please?
this is predicted to be a very cold, long -- and snowy -- winter, even worse than 2 years ago when we were snowed in for a week (they don't plough roads in our rural section until last); I kept high-centering when I tried to take the cars out!
snowy?...snowy?..we have 3 feet in the ground and another foot coming tonight...snowy??! lol
not out + a reliquary?
no fair crossy >:o(
definitely a change in the weather patterns for western WA, sounds like, all that snow!
3 FEET! O_O
indeed rbud
What is high centering?
good for you cross! my guess is that you are prepared... and practiced with significant snow? the other side of the mountains barely notice less than a foot. Over here... *shrug*
also know as bottoming out
when the snow in the middle of the road between the ruts is taller than the space under the vehicle
lol, were are busy little beavers with the plows and shovels, but i fear the side roads will suffer tonight
thanks again dfm *thinking more*
ah, the joys of wintertime! :P
'Round these parts that's called un-plowed roads. : P
when I grow up, I want to put radiant heaters in the steps to the front and back doors so they don't freeze solid and get slippery...
if you live on a side road you generally shop for 2 weeks at a time starting in november cause you never know when you will be stuck for 3 or 4 days
my problem was, I didn't have the reliquary yet! got it now! :-D
when you grow up stidmama, you better have shares in a hydro company!
Last winter, when we got three bad blizzards I wanted a giant blow torch so I could go out and melt the snow. Hate the stuff.
yep. we try to keep a month's rations just in case. hence the generator and 500 gal propane tank... etc.
indeed
awww. elegant and crossy locked up together for days on end. sounds romantic...
actually, I kinda do. most of our power is supplied by the dam Columbia River system.
lol,you would think so:)
Bonneville Power Administration... (used to work for them when I was young)
oh, wow, reminds me of one winter spent in Missouri in a little cabin in the woods, had a little '67 Chevy II, waited 10 days for someone in a four-wheel drive to break the road, then we "plowed" to town, finally
clue for en 5 please
elegant? :o/
oh, that sounds familiar, rbud! we have the fortune to have TWO oystering families at the end of our road. In a real emergency, a slog down to their places and we would have full-size tractors clearing things for us.
you might en5/10 through the window if you've lost the keys
elegant = Mrs. crossy (correct?)
oh! nice, easy clue that time dfm!
of course, mrs cross = elegant... TRES elegante! :-D
add vowel to en5 for en6
is elegant a name or a nickname? o.0
well, I think I will indulge and take a short nap today. didn't get one yesterday, and noticed it a lot later on. back this evening probably! *poof*
nap well, stid, laters! :)

elegant is Mrs Crossys babble name dfm.
ah :o)
hmmm, monkeyed ex4 and pl, sounds like the big oil co. (didn't know that was a word!)
opposite of intron. ;o)
clue for the second en 6/24
en6/24 a banner
is that the Navy officer, also, dfm?
uhh, I think so
well, if this would make it clearer...
*paints the letter after M on a board, staples board to a stick, holds it up and waves*
haha, cute clue! :)
clue for 1st en6/24 please
hello my peeps
shorty, that en6 is en + the circumference of your middle is your ****h
*measures the width of the letter, then chops off the last letter*
en 6.24 en plus gi46
oh good one, boobear... LOL and so much clearer
tyvm
yw

yw Une
Hello Babblers :-)
thanks, flosey
hey, soodle :-)
Hi Soodle, have you warmed up yet?
brrrrr, not i!
Have a look at my icon, Annie... it's 2 feet of snow. Enough said!
Soodle, I get your drift
Annie!! Ruru would be proud of you! (snow drifts, etc...)
good afternoon everyone
Hello Mom :-)
hey, mom -- didja get snow?
Soodle, LOL
Hi {{Mom}}! :o)
((Soodle)) hello, my sympathies to you and your family on Buster
(((Mom))) hello
Hi ((Une)) we did, just a few inches
and also hey Soodle, apparently missed you :oS
((Dfm)) and ((Annie)) hello you two
guess it'll stay around awhile with the nighttime teens, eh?
Une, did you get any snow?
Thanks (((Mom))). We are all still grieving here. Its a lonesome house without the little fella.
we had a little but it didn't stick
roads are good, but the ground will stay covered for a while. Yes teens and single digits for lows and only in the 20's for highs
Soodle, I imagine it is
so sorry for your loss
And the temperatures here remain around minus 10. It really is dreadful here.
Soodle, are your winters usually like this?
wow, soodle
Annie, have you had snow?
No, but it is very cold and very windy here
Jeepers, Mom, not at all. Records are being broken every night. We are used to a bit of frost, maybe minus 1-2, but this is totally unheard of.
that wind is nasty. The cold isn't so bad on a calm day
Dfm, do you get a lot of snow?
Oh Soodle, that is dreadful
global warming? where? lol
no, it has been oddly mild in Ottawa... I hear it's usually cooler... we *do* have a lot of ice freezing every night though :o(
:-( ice is the worst
phantom: poison
I'm procrastinating going out for groceries in hopes that this warm weather melts all the ice... so far almost successful... (it's also foggy out...)
Cabin fever is a big problem here... We have been holed up since Wednesday..... Between that, and the loss of Buster, everybody is getting a bit antsy. I would actually like to be able to go to work tomorrow!
along come January cabin fever will set in here
I hear you, DFM, we have freezing fog here....
Hey Soodle! Hi Mom!
it is 3:40 here, dfm, what time is it there?
trying to figure out your time zone. Guess I could have just asked out right
:)
and I think I've procrastinated too long, the fog is now freezing and it is snowing too. :o/
((Car.))
Ottawa is in EST too
oh dmf
oops *dfm
I have absolutely no desire to do my typing work today! HELP!
don't worry, having my name misspelt is a side effect of making it so confusing ;o) everyone does it, usually...
Hey Car :-)
**gets Car. hot tea some anise drop cookies, a good novel (only after babble, of course)and a snuggie
do the letters mean anything dfm
Mom! You temptress!
you can read Eleanor and Franklin when I am finished with it
It *used* to mean something... was part of a grade 3 project on cryptography, but forgot what it was originally... :o/
:-)
o
you were learning cryptography in 3rd grade
Cool!
Hi ((Sea))
Hi SeaSpray!
hi sea :o)
so sorry everyone, don't know where that came from and hello Car and everyone!
it was an Individual Study Project.
Lovely icon, Seaspray.
I see
yes, it is very pretty Sea
thank you soodle but I thought I changed it the other day...
OK, this is totally random and I can't really explain further, but if there are people in here that are willing to pray or wish happy thoughts in my direction, I'd appreciate it! I'm sick and having a craptastic day. :(
wait, are you seeing the tree or the beach scene?
Oh, don't change it... its festive and cute.
wickdsmaht...you got it! I hope you are feeling better soon and good thoughts are being sent your way!
((Wickdsmaht)) I will be happy to send prayers in your direction
i can and will pray for you wick ... sorry you're going through whatever it is
I am seeing the beach scene
aww... *prepares some tea for wickd* and hi! :o)
Sea, try and refresh
I see the tree..and I love it!
Seaspray..I'm seeing a lovely Christmas tree.
**group hug**
Thanks everyone. I'm always lurking on here and appreciate it so much :)
Ok, thats what I want there...dunno know why I am seing the beach chair
okay, snow is getting worse... at this rate, the ice should be covered in about ten minutes. Going to see if it is dry or wet snow...
sending good vibes to wick >>>>>>>>>
I was going to change to a holiday icon, but I think the pic I have of the boys is very seasonal...peace and love and all that warm fuzzy stuff!
be safe going out dfm
I want snow!
sea it's caching to prevent too much load on the server.
Wickd.... You couldn't have come to a better place for a bit of TLC and good wishes. I will say a prayer for you, and send you heaps of happy thoughts. (((Wickd)))
**shovels up my couple of inches and carts it off to Car.**
Thanks, Mom!
you are so welcome
that pic is adorable car
Ty! It always makes me smile!
aww, dry snow... that means I have ten minutes to go/finish my groceries while I can still *see* the ice on the ground :o(
better look to see where I am going ...
hmm, should I go over in my pjs? :o3
Oh Absolutely dfm! PJ's all the way!
no dfm, please don't .... people do that around here all the time
at least I think they are pj's. they look like it
better pack a lunch, Maryland is a couple of days away from me
No no no. PJ's are for the privacy of the bedroom.
PJs = thin shorts and thick t-shirt. Normal clothes = thick shorts and thin t-shirt. hmm, not much difference...
Is someone coming to Maryland?
I have a hard time picturing dfm sitting around in his pj's.
uh oh...
We spoke of it earlier SeaSpray...we need crab legs.
Sea, I am carting my snow to Car. she wants it
I'm in Massachusetts Mom!
wonder what icon I clicked on
We are having flurries today, have had for the past few days
Well, better pack 2 lunches, that is about 3 days from here
I'll meet you half way mom...ROAD TRIP!!!!
I must have clicked on Sea's icon
I will go through Ohio and into Pennsylvania
we are expecting 30 mph winds this afternoon
yes Mom, I am in Maryland...30 minutes south of Gettysburg
I loved Gettysburg
Was just there Tuesday...such a lovely town
we went back in the late 70's
clue for te 5/10 please?
te + most of a police attack
Hi Ruru
ty Ruru!
SeaSpray is here now...we can go get our crab legs!
Hi Ru
hello ruru
Don't you want the whole crab car? lol
hi all.. I needed a football break before I try to wrap up this tough little grid
Ruru...do we want whole crabs or legs? Did Crossy specify?
Big game tonight for us ruru...
65 left ... off I go. Hope to see all of you tomorrow. ((Hugs)) to all of you and stay warm
not just the legs.. the whole crab
I would agree Ruru!
Whole crab please Sea!
*breaks out the chardonnay*
Ok, whole crab it is then...although they are just about out of season here..we are having cold weather now
Ruru, I'm utterly mortified at my reference to the younger Mr Sheen yesterday. After I left the chog, I googled his activities, and I was horrified.
yes.. he has significant mental issues
among other problems.. like alcohol and drugs
As a person who has experienced domestic abuse, I was aghast.
...looks aint' everything soods...
Now your talking, Ru! On a positive note, I Google-Earthed Corfu today, and was transported back to much happier times....
clue for the re10 plz
re + drop your pants lbd
A flashers activities, gerund ending....

Woo-hoo, Lbd! Well done.
Congrats lb

They aren't in season now, but when they are, there is nothing better than Maryland Blue Crabs. A little butter, a little lemon, mmmmmm.
Soodle packing a suitcase, and donning her crab-bib....

yw
Or sparkly cyber hugs.
*POOF*
wish you could all see where I am right now...secondo has diving practice at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology sports facility today. STATE of the art!!!
Welki, we have to wait until they are in season. They are all down under the mud now.
*starting the car and on my way to Md..*
does anyone have teh op 7?
***thinking about the beautiful aroma of Old Bay***
tho watching her fling her teeny self (albeit gracefully) off the five meter board is aging me.
hubs doesn like crab...says he doesn't like to have to play with his food.
uhm
has to do with numbers, ru
op7 = music like carmen +
ruru, i have one op7....
There are a lot of people who consider picking crabs too much trouble. Around here, learning to pick crabs is a rite of passage.
head west, molly .. we can eat dungeness crabs and pretend they're blue claws on steroids :)
no mallet for me.
classical music op5 + the E**
ah, there are 2 op 7s then
opposite of the aci of shutting
thank you..
Gerund ending of the opposite of 'shut'
i've had blue crabs and dungeness, and king crab...love king crab! but will eat any of the three above.
I don'thave a chance with this one

i used to visit there often, annie .. walk past the mccormick's factory and on good days, it smelled like cinammon ... and the aquarium nearby! ohhhh, i miss the east
welki, the aquarium was wonderful...
welki, arent you a brooklyn girl?
yep
I've heard Faidley's has the best crab cakes in Maryland. And (although pricey) they ship.
oh.. eating crab right out of the aquarium sounds gross
aha, so you are the one who worked on 86th street?
Ruru, you have to pay extra for that.
i used to go to baltimore when visiting friends in alexandria (great spiced shrimp at the fish market in olde towne)
no, i worked in brooklyn and downtown in wall st area
okay, welki, come on home
*googling faidley's*
dawg will have to order them and i'll drive down for a faidley feast :)
may I have a clue for the last so7 please?

Wild might be right about the importing and tariffs. I sent a box of my husband's things to his kids in Canada and had to pay 80 dollars in those type of fees.
I made it without slipping... twice! :oO

So, what's ***?
NBT is no blank tiles...it means you have one of each letter in the grid.
no blank tiles - so you get at least one word for each tile on the grid
hey, river, car, and kaplan :-)
Hi Une
Thank you.
Hi again Unie!
* Une
Une - thought of you yesterday with all your food volunteering - spent the morning working at the NH food bank
hello all
Hello Peri
River, I volunteer at a local food pantry
Hi Peri!
(wave)
I have a new monitor, YAY!!!
how cool, river!! Yes, the donations have been very generous -- in fact there was so much prepared food to pick up after Thanksgiving, I had to ask another person to help pick up!
yay, peri!
Oh good Peri!
awesome - my first experience - quite an eye opener - will definately do it again
PERI. Do you remember me? D;
great, peri!
Have to run now! Have a good evening everyone!
I was also looking at new computer but decided to go with new monitor for now
bye, car!
we filled backpacks with food for the kids from multiple school, organizations and church groups - how sad so little will feed their family
/sad4lyf
sounds like a terrific project, river
GUESS NOT
I've been sharing some of my donated food with a local school for kids with learning disabilites, all from families below poverty level
we did it instead of having a christmas party - time to give back
(in addition to our soup kitchen)
they're doing that where I used to work -- "giving back"
there is no local soup kitchen near me or I would volunteer there too
good to see
there is no local soup kitchen near me or I would volunteer there too
i'm on the board of one that's been around nearly 30 years, peri :-)
thats the next thing I want to do - volunteer at a soup kitchen - I think my kids got a true eye opener with what we were doing yesterday.
what about Second Harvest? Our local one ALWAYS needs volunteers
me either - closest 20 miles away
A clue, please, for the in/8?

hi Min
it's been chilly here lately...so much so, I HAD to buy some long sleeved- undershirts...Joey was banished to the outdoors this morning for trying to smuggle in a bone he picked up on our walk...he refused to give it up, so I told him he couldn't come in until he had finished with it...
Does anyone have a clue for the in 7/36 word please?

hi pini! :o)
hi Pini!
...I have a question for someone with kids around age 10?
Hello Pinikula! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
ty got it
hiya dfm, pav, min, ru, peri, et al
hola pinister
hey Pini
I have had kids that were once ten, will that help?
Hi Peri
Yeah, my kids were that age once, too...but it's been about 15 years...
I was ten once, I think,,,
Two phantom words for me today are poison & prison
I was 10 once too :)
Are you looking for gift ideas?
hey Boo
it sounds like the kids are up to something, peri
Here's the situation: my gdau wants a Dairy Queen Blizzard machine for Xmas, but I don't like what you get for the $30 price tag...
I act like I'm ten.. does that count?
Is being nineteen years old close enough to having ten-year-old kids? :o\
lol ruru
...I know of an alternative (http://www.campmor.com/outdoor/gear/P roduct___82735) and think she'd have more FUN with this...thoughts?
po7/48 please? last word . . .
ALL input is welcome!!!! :)
what's the problem
snapping, crackling, po****** sound
thanks, pini!!!
check out the link, boo...do you think that would be an OK substitute?
(it was my last word, too, une!)
:-D
yeah une!!!!!!!!!!!
Alas, she probably wants the Dairy Queen one because it says DAIRY QUEEN all over it. I'm not sure the other one would float a ten-year-old's boat.
"all" input? :oO
I'm past the halfway mark! time for a break
well, shoot, Molly...the ball makes more ice cream...I can always include a bag of candy to mix in
even you, dfm!! LOL
I agree that the ball is a better value. However, I'm not sure a kid would care about that.
the DQ version just makes the ice cream, too (and less than the ball) and you have to add the candy stuff in after...so they're kinda both the same...but the ball you actually get to PLAY with...the DQ machine isn't interactive...
...am I thinking too much?
In my experience of gift giving and gift getting, people usually expect what they ask for, just saying
I was going to give a completely tangential comment, but decided that it was too mean to type.
the 2nd to last pe5?
pe + atomic ***ction
oh let it rip, dfm...my skin's pretty thick
ty!
well, Pini, you could always get the ball one and keep the receipt. watch her reaction. if it is a no go, return it and buy the other
true...
But I said it was going to be completely tangential... maybe even totally unrelated! :oO

what the heck is tangential (sigh, another word I have to look up?)
I am so sick of the Ps
oopsies...was trying to clean up the po4 before adding...
hey PAV, I have a script to do that for me :oP
cos...we never get sick of Peas
you know what they mean when they say "go off on a tangent", pini?
well those are some pretty nice reviews, pav...thx! :)
Pini, my experience with kids is telling me that if you get her the ball, she's going to open it and say "I wanted the Dairy Queen one".
oh, yep, dfm...gotcha
pini, I never wanted gifts... but from my experience with my peers back then, it really really depends on the child.
that was for the Blizzard machine, Pini...the campmor ice cream ball, may seem as kid-friendly, but many marketers won't get paid as much...I'm sure one could add whatever flavorings they wanted to either, but who wants to throw a ball around when you can build muscles and spin a handle?...
I appreciate all the input...I'll think about it and take another look at the DQ machine...
There are kids who would appreciate that you've put thought into the gift to make it better and funner... and kids who go "This isn't what I asked for!" if you replace the toy from the dollar store with a $100 gift certificate for the toystore.
I'll keep you posted as to what (if either) she is surprised with...
*Molly wishes she still had her Snoopy Sno-Cone machine*
bbs, need a snack
This would be the first time I actually consider something like this on her wish list...the entire list is "electronics" (something I'm not very happy about, but that's a long story)
clue for the first pi5?
add 1/2 a goose to the pi4
Almost like the ni5/10.
ah thank you!
dfm another one! :)
clue for the second gi 5/14
Either way you go, ice cream makers have a track record of being used for about a month and then forgotten about.
that's the other thing I've been considering, too, Molly...
...I think I may just stick with my original idea (without adding on the extra)

Hi pe 4/6! Here is a story for today. I en 5/10ed grid early this morning and thought I would finish by noon But then life got in the way and fell behi 4/6 with the grid. It took me ae 5/10 to finish the grid; like ni 4/4 hours. Now I'll be ex 8/80 a story of clues. I was very in 5/12 at finding words in the grid. I gave my tr 4/4 of monkeys a ri4/6 and asked for their help, but they said, "No 4/5! We are not helping today. We are too busy fishing with our pi4/5." I said,"Pi4/6!Whatever! and hung up in a sn4/4.I did not shed a te4/4 over it though.I tried babbling monkeyless & thought "this is the pi 4/5! What is the po 5/12 of babbling if I'm just going to be miserable with frustration?" So I op4/5ed the list and ra 4/5ed it. Now I am going to si 4/6 off. I am going to eat a pe4/5,which has finally ri 5/12ed and watch my soap op 5/12s on SoapNet. I hope you got the gi 4/6 of some of my clues. I will no longer be po 7/40 clues tonight. I will re6/21 Babble tomorrow.
I say cheers........ \(^_^)/

but from now on ill keep his email saved
that's what "save" files are for, cos! LOL
Clues for IN 8 and 7/36
lol ooo wait no i deleted it 2 days ago without knowing id buy a new one yesterday
that could be also...he had too much to \~/
i saw this desktop at the thrift store for 25.00 so i bought it and it runs even better than my old desktop lol..and it used to belong to a therapist and he didnt delete his files so we read all of his personal notes on clients
in + place to worship
way to much personal info :P
oh no, cos!!!!!
oh I love thrift stores....RECYCLE is a good thing!
so after reading them and having a good laugh, we deleted them :P
* sigh of relief *
oh my goodness he could be in BIG troubles with the hipaa laws...
thrift stores = godsend= green = cheap. th eres no downside to them
yeah but there were no names anywhere though
that's what I was thinking MP
yes I go several times a week...my car is loaded as we speak I donate and buy (much to my DH chagrin!)
I need to get a load ready to take over within the next couple of woeeks...
most of my furniture are 2nd handed. i have some clothes that are too small for me i have to take them there tomorrow.. and pick up a monitor there as well for my old desktop so we can actually not have to share a computer :P
he says I should sell...I know alot about things I find there even though I don't want them...I see retro linens and dishes etc....
I found some Pezs there. I collect them. once i found 3 that were selling for a dime apiece and i looked up going price. . 50 dollars each
nice finds, cos
I am in the end of year rush for our taxes...heck I've got it so bad I even go around the neighborhood and pick up things people throw out and donate them...and count them on my slips
well, if you do the work, MP, you should get the credit!
hi all!
hi TNC
That's what I figure..and I'm helping keep it out of the landfill and giving something that will be affordable to others...Martha would say...It's a very good thing!
i have a sign i found at a thrift store ei hang up on the wall it says "Martha doesnt live here. Thats a good thing"
i love thrift stores too. down side: my daughter in law bought a down comforter in a used store. i went to visit. got terrible allergies. she didnt wash it or clean it and could have been a cat owner. so i was so sick for days.
don't tell your tax preparer that you are donating things that you scavenged - they really don't count
i dont see in+ place of worship. very confused.
oh poor mkg...
in + sh6/21
I have a toyota avalon...(what can I say I moved down from a cadillac) but I swear next time I'm getting an SUV or a truck but it has to have heated seats and lots of bells and whistles...
ty got it.
in + men's club who wear the red fezzes
i love my prius. recommend it to everyone. heated seats an option
that's what I have now, MP...a truck...lots of bells and whistles except for heated seats
good clue pini
thx mkg
gosh tnc I don't like to be dishonest but I can still donate them and just leave them off my slips then I don't want to spend a second in jail for nothing!
clue for the 10? and dont have any 9s either.
that one won't really get you in trouble - the point of getting the deduction is that you paid for it at one time and now are taking the fair market value as a deduction because you donated it to charity.
re + ex8/80 for the 10
I rented a prius in Key West and fell in love with it also but I need room to haul junk...
hi mkg, TNC :o)
to take off ur pants over and over

and with the price of gas skyrocketing again...it's over $3.00 here in Maryland!
in8 = in + men's club who wear the red fezzes
it's $2.91 here, MP
pe8 = ink writing utensil + don't ***** your finger at me (pl for pe9)
you have it lucky down south... -.- it's well over $1.10/L in Ottawa, and it's over $1.3 in the Maritimes.
ok...pe9/66 is the tip of ink writing thingy + pl
are these 8 clues or 9? or am i confused.

Flosey I was blessed with the best parents a person could have...I am very lucky...and they came from broken homes my poor dad was so mistreated...I can never understand how someone could treat their child (or any child) so mean...he was the smartest man I've ever known...I loved to talk with him...I learned so much from him...and everyone else loved him too! I hear him in my heart everyday!

Had to defrost the "frost-free" fridge for 24 hrs the other day, left it for 3 days until the repair guy got here -- not fun, but it's working ok now -- temporarily.
and still need to set things up for the boys for the morning.
whew lickety emailed me expert just in time
