On vacation, stiddy, bed sheets are dry now, time to make the bed

The Babble toilet seems to be "dusty" ;)

TY, Dr. God, for bringing in the maids!!
Thanks, Dr_G

ooh, yes, that would be nice (blithely typing away with no regard for what typed words may actually be in that grid over on the left...)
I miss our talks. and the chat this evening was great -- full of chatty gossipy stuff and some downright fun political rants as well (and not just by me)
late flip!
Yup, confession, I was lurking and saw that upset mama look!
how's your father, mrp?
Hi, MrP! Prayers for you and your family continue!

yippee trifioso!
Oh my goodness jilli! That must have added hours to your travel time! I am not surprised you got confused tho.
wow, trif!
ma 7
on ya trif!
Even worse to be a foot passenger. How did you manage to get home to Saltspring then?
bugs, I should have been home by 4 pm, but finally made it at about 10:15 pm
ma7 is also a plural of the conductor
Back to Tsawassen, then to Swartz, then waited an hour and a half for the ferry to Fulrod (SSI)
I wish you had my phone number. You could have phoned and I could have come to collect you in one hour. It would have been a fun, impromptue meeting
eewwww, I found half a lizard in my cooked spinach!!
*fulford
no mrp! *look of shock and ick*
eek, mrp!!!
WHAT??? OMG mr p! how do you aussies do it?
bugs, I had to get back to Fulford where a friend was meeting me with my car. At least I had my cell phone and could let her know what was happening
* thinking of favorite things, thinking of favorite things...(repeat) * to get spin-liz out of head!
well, this is false advertising... it says on the packet 'nothing added', but I see a lizard!!
I am glad you had someone to phone but there is no ferry from Nanaimo to Fulford is there?
PLEASE tell me you are going to let the company know, mr p?
package it up and return, mrp!
oh trif, they are sooooo gonna know!
Pini, your icon is wicked cool!
no, bugs, so I had to go back to Tsawwassen
thx trif :) (need to change it tho)
Oh mrp, if it came in a packet, put the whole mess into a bag and send it back with a letter of complaint. If they are like the companies here, they will send you all kinds of stuff for free (if you still want to try to eat it again).
159 to go
I am posting the pics of the lizard dinner to the company tonight!
wtg MissO!
you rock, mrp!
Poor jilli. What an exhausting day. I am sure you were so glad to be home and don't plan to leave for a while again. Still, you have a good adventure to relate!
phantom: tempting
Oh yes, bugs, plenty to dine out on :)
trif said a woooord
ty Jilli ^.^
too tired tonight, this will have to wait for tomorrow - if there's time, going in to Victoria to take a friend to lunch
I will never again buy a ticket without checking where the ferry is going. Had no idea there were two leaving at about the same time.

well done stid. still missing 2 here
just, I am CERTAIN that 2010 holds promise for us all. My hope for us is that we will be able to roll with any punches and make lots of lemonade when necessary, while being served mostly happily just desserts.
fame
bugsaw, I haven't seen you for a while, but wanted to let you know I have a new job, working as a reading clinician with students with receptive and expressive language issues, and I am LOVING it so much! I cannot agree more with your statement about helping people find their power....love that!

I shall defer to your certainty stiddie!
kimm's gonna live forever
kimm - your pic is great! :)
ps

Good for you trif! I am so happy for you. You have been through a lot in the short time I have been playing. I am also pleased that something I said made sense to someone. It is a good goal in life

kimm, your picture is much better, and you have your flag -- perfecto!
oh, that happens a lot, don't let it bother you, kimm.
Thanks, rbud! That's my beautiful daughter kissing me!
we've all done time in the PB, lol!
thanks bugsaw. It is still early days, of course, so I am sure there are bumps ahead, but for right now I am loving it. it feels so good to be earning again, that is for sure!
tetris ought to be in the enable dictionary by now, oughtn't it?
need a word from the left e for nbt
LOL stid, I tried that too!

oy dc...you don't know from chilly...right now -17c with wind chill at -26c :(
it's currently -5 c here
that's positively balmy, dc!
for here, that's quite cold for this time in the Winter, but point taken :) I did used to live in Boston, so i do recall cold. It was easier when it got cold and stayed that way.
dc, it's +4c here
yes, you got the nice bit of ocean current up in that bit of the continent, jilli :P
well at this point in my life I'll spend the extra $$$$ for warmth....carbon footprint be damned
it's too bloody cold here whatever te4 it really is
anyone want to go for -8c?
Hello all, longer grid today.
ok, I'm not good with centrigrade. It's 5F here, how does that translate?
although we heat with electric hot water and we have tons of hydro electricty at cheap prices here
okay, witching hour for me...good night all, and see you anon, I hope!
well, dc, I think the ocean current is cold, not like the Gulf Stream, but we get warm air from the south
Here too, broil
night trif!
-15c broll
*loves the Gulf Stream*
Nite trif
Cold any way you measure it!
cold is cold plain and simple
we did notice that the water of the pacific was chilly, though warmer than same latitude on this coast.
snap broll
g'night trif
can't find that di 6-7 combo, so heading out -- 135 down
4c is 40f -- one of the convenient memory things.
g'night nan
however I will be going to Mexico in about 3 weeks (hopefully will be a much better vaction this year than last)
night nan -- well done!
where in MX, just?
Acapulco dc
justy, enjoy the pre-flight hours at the airport (NOT)!
oh, good. very far from the current trouble zones there.

Yes for sure and we stay in an area that is guarded
wb, mrp!
Acapulco = guaranteed sunshine and warmth
just rang up the local hospital for my dad... they are calling him now to triage him over the phone. He is going to be so pissed off at me!!
well, things are VERY bad in Baja California Norte and Ciudad Juarez - no rule of law, gov't collapsed, and armed drug cartels in charge
Hi MrP! Happy New Year!
well done, mrp!
sigh I know dc....
Well done for your dad, mrp!
No he won't MrP....
hi just! good to see you and happy new year to you too!
aww thx mrP :)
I called my brother for backup... he just laughed his ass off at me! He knows what dad is like, but he is supporting the whole thing
lol mrp
good that you have your brother's support, mrp
brothers are like that no matter what age, mrp.
does he live in Sydney too, MrP?
If I have to, I will call in the State Emergency Services and get him to a hospital!
GOOD, mrp!
BUGS! you left a comment on my blog! ((((hugs))) you are now my fourth offical reader! LOL and thanks. *repoof*
my brother lives only a few km from me... we both talked about going up there to get dad out as a last resort
well glad you have sibling help MrP....
*glad to see mrp is taking charge of recalcitrant old coot of a father*
your dad may grump but I bet he'll be secretly grateful, mrp
thanks all... I hope this is the right decision too
and now.... I am really really going to sleep. good night all! *repoof for good*
I have been to your blog a few time stid but never felt brave enough to comment before.

lol, dee, you sure?
hey granny, i'll swap you some stormy queensland coolness for an in8/50 clue
hi gort. in8, plural in6/36
I hate extreme te5 both ways... like it in the middle with just a little humidity lol
i think i mean the other one pls granny
and, gort? i know about queesland rain in the summer, you can keep it!
you don't like summer rain?
okay, in8, past tense of in6/27
our summer rains lately have been floods
gort, gets too humid.
ok i've got the dodgy reputations and the cockroaches and the prisoners, just need the 8 after the trouser leg
te 7 x 3 so far
we clever tmba-ites escape humidity by climbing the great dividing range where we had a white xmas from fog!
ghort. in8, symbols of office, in + stop ****, road information + 2 vowels
ahhh, thanks a heap, granny
aaaccckkk, how did that h get in there? * gort *
ghort is how the europeans pronounce it (probably)
gort, my cousin lives in towoomba. is how i know about summer rain. have visited him and my aunt and uncle in gympie many times.
did you remember to bring your thermal underdaks?
underdaks?
ok, down to 100, will leave them for tomorrow, hope I get a chance then, goodnight all
lol, gort. yeah, right!
longjohns, kje
hello, and gn flos

yeah? whadda they call you?
anything but late for dinner, hate that!!!!
LOL granny, u rock
my phant is intestine and I have entered it about 10 times :(
i sympathise, vol, mine's impediment
but really, at the mo', everyone thinks they are so clever, they calll me hop-a-long, 'cos of my walking stick, and limp. little do they realise that i'm limping cos i'm in pain!!
aww good one gort
can you smite them with your stick?
very te5ing, gort, very te5ing
it's probably not what Jesus would do, but they would call you "sir granny" after a whack or two
ROFL, gort. i like your style
i come from feisty stock...
granny what happened to mrp's dad... noticed a bit in chat, but couldn't get the gi4
at 94, my granny was bedridden with osteoarthritis, but managed to fight-off a would be assailant with her cane and the contents of her bed pan!
not sure, dee. was gong to ring her later
* going *
give her a hug for me... even though I am not sure what happened
no probs, dee
right, dinner here. slack night, having pizza. bbl
sounds yummy
finally found 2 of the 3 in 8's...
yippppeee found the last one
doing the happy dance
well done vol, you are a monument to triumphant perseverance
lol ty ty
what are you going to do now?
look for my other 41 lol
ooooh, i thought you'd finished the grid
popping in, I have a bit of info about mrp's dad -- he was in a farm accident and got some metal in his leg. It's all flooded there and he can't get out. Mrp has contacted the authorities and the hospital and they are doing a triage by phone or something.
cute parent moment: my 4 yo is gazing at me in awe, cos i know the full lyrics to "bananas in pyjamas"
not yet... 37 more to go... and considering going to lickety
hugs jili; oh my my jili... how scary
cool gort
I may have that somewhat muddled
farm accidents are always so very scary
yeah, i've just got to stay awesome for another 17 years, how hard can that bee?!
and farmers have a tendency here in the states to understate how serious injuries are
her brother is in support of mrp -- apparently dad is a bit testy
lol gor...pretty tough... made my 26 year old daughter irritated today
if anyone can handle a wounded, testy farming father, it's mrp
what did you do, vol?
I totally agree with mrp's approach that is for sure
she asked me a question and I answered honestly instead of what I thot she wanted to hear
she didn't appreciate my candor
I hope they're able to get him out and into a hospital for treatment -- maybe helicopter?
they never do, and yet it's only one letter away from candy, you'd think they would be begging for it all the time
good for you, dee.
possible jili
I ended the conversation with... "next time don't ask me if you don't want an honest reply" or "next time tell me in advance how I should answer, so I can pretend to be a robot"... neither of those helped the situation lol
is it one of those things she'll only appreciate when she has her own kiddies?
absolutely gort
now I must go to bed! *repoof*
hugs jili
toodle pip jilli
is she still holding out against you vol?
yeah at least for tonight... wouldn't answer my text
oh, sorry
all the best healing the rift with your daughter; i have to go read bedtime stories to mine... nitey nite
it is okay.. I knew better when I replied... should have just hushed; hugs to you; enjoy!
back, can i help anyone?
not yet ty ... down to my last 29
okay. i'll just sit here, slurping my ice-cream, then.
yum
triple choc wedge, very yummy
sounds delicious... with coffee
98 left for tomorrow night all
darn. just lost a chunk of the choc coating.and, no,too hot for coffee.
nite diem
aww true
'sides, what do i do with the bourbon on ice, if i have coffee?
LOL... definitely skip the coffee
yup, gonna do just that!
oops, just noticed the time. going to call mrp, right now!
did you see jili's note a minute ago?
no, dee
you might glance at chat right before jili "repoofed"... may give you a bit of issue
fireworks
sure was glad for lickety for my missing ones
well all... have to get going here... busy day tomorrow
back, anyone here?
Putting hand up.
hey, haz. how are you?
I'm fine, thanks. How are you doing?
not so bad. we are having another heat wave here. te4 was 39deg today.
Melting into puddle of sweat time?
but a dry heat, so not so hard to put up with. am sitting in front of a fan gong full blast.
Is sleeping at night a problem?
it apprently is for me
apparently
Hello, kje, heat or just insomnia?
LOL - not heat
what's new in your neck of the woods? we have a portable air-con in our bedroom, works well, too
hi folks
snowed here last night, but I hear dripping, so likely melting off
Hello, diem.
kje, sleepless,hun?
yep, for the last 2 hours
darn, not good. something on your mi4?
always
hey, diem, back, or just out of lurking?
hi haz you up to your bum in snow?
wanna share, hun?
oh, no, nothing specific...
Thank goodness, it has mostly, finally, melted. We only had five inches but it's caused problems on country roads and town pavements.
deep in the grid now
back cant sleep
okay, kje
you, too, diem?
I don't think we even got an inch - LOL
Hello
Hello, herin.
hi herin
hi herin
((((herin))))) you home, hun?
Well got a HUGE turkey/stuffing sandwich this will make me tired (i hope)
Nope. Still in the bush and deciding our new years eve plans
oh, okay. call when you get home, okay? hope you have a great one, kiddo.

faith, compound word, lucky **p + mesh for catching fish
Yep. I don't get back until the 3rd
thanks so much!

Rose how was your Christmas?
busy, herin, was spoiled rotten by himself. and yours?
your mobile picking up where you are?
Sort of
brb, going to flip to see who gets the last piece of plum pudding.
It is roaming and costly
will try tomorrow about 1200 hours, or would you rather i didn't?
Rather not hun sorry. We are going to be driving up north
that's okay, hun. catch you when you get home.
That would be great
lostthe toss. :( he gets the last bit
?
why is it when you are trying to talk there is someone in the peanut gallery that has to ''help'' by being a pain in the a
the last bit of plum pudding, herin. himself won the toss of the coin.
i have to say good-night, folks. my feet are starting to swell, have to put them up. see you all at the flip.
gn granny - be well
night Rose
* poof *
good morning all... wow how did granny do that... she just disappeared
hi your ladyship hi doc
hi oodle
hi everyone!
hi brooke
hi oodle
hi brook
hi kje
HI Brookie and Oddle and KJE. Sorry trying to organise my NYE plans
Hi herin... how is it going with your plan organization?
both my children are up and it's only 5:45 am
how old are they... do they have school today? did you see if they were feeling ok??
Good done. Had to remap everything as it was all screwy on the planing site
my 2 year old gets up around 5 a.m., and he's happy. my 7-year-old normally gets up later, but he got himself up early so he can play with all his xmas toys.
the toys were all a donation... we've had a tough year financially
ah HA there is method to his madness eh??
sorry brookie
ok, herin, now the stupid question.. what's NYE?
O Brookie I m sorry to here that. It has been a sucky one financially but we are blessed not to have added stress of kids
New Years Eve
it's ok, oodle, things are getting better now. i'm still overextended financially, but i'm making a turnaround.
aah, New Year's Eve, herin, I can't believe I couldn't figure that out!
good
hee hee like me brookie I thought it was something about New York hee hee hee
although there's nothing like NYE in NYC :-)
Darn glad we are not at home its stinky hot there
no but I was there once and wouldn't go back... my mother grew up there as for me I was just born there when my parents lived in bayone nj
That is mean I wish I had the $$$ to fly over seas
Herin, I wish I had the $$$ to go to Australia... it's one of the countries I want to visit in my lifetime.
wouldn't go back to nyc? why? I love ny!
I live about 2 hours from NYC... it's a nice place to visit in the springtime,
Brookie we will get there one day
I do believe that, herin!
It is so warm at home its nice here. I can't believe the maping guide was so utterly wrong
So, in case I missed it from earlier in the chog, herin, what are you doing for NYE?
The b.f and I are going up bush so we don't have to deal with anyone
sounds like a nice way to start the new year... peacefully!
sounds romantic
anyone have the hi6,27?
Yer well it wasn't meant to be like that. We are both over doing what everyone else wants
hi faith, no i don't have it yet.
Sorry nether do i
that's okay - I'm skipping it for now, can't find it

good morning Babblers...
Good morning to all.
hi Scrabs
Hey Hey Hey !!
Hi Aussie
Ooooh, brb, need to change my tree icon.
hi Aussie
Ok, back.... refresh for my new icon.
Did little smurf enjoy Xmas, Aussie?
Oh Boy ! Did she ever..... She was hyper all day !
Yes, it is quite overstimulating for all of us, but especially for the kids--toys, games, toys, games, food...
lol....
*still shivering even with extra layer on and first cup of coffee*
I put an extra layer on this morning Scrabs.... We had snow last night, and brrrrr !
so much for attempts at hospitality...
We got 10 inches on Monday and a bit more yesterday. And very cold.
Hey Bojazz !
We all said hello, Bo.
Ooooh Scrabs ! That's alot of snow !
Hello Bo!! How are you? Staying warm in SC? Snow for sale, real cheap!
**wants some of Scrabs' Snow** Will it travel well ?
unseasonably cold for several days, but nothing close to what you are enduring up north
I could probably spend extra money to have it sent on ice, Aussie!
ROFL !
got some grands that would love to have several inches, can you deliver by tomorrow?
There's a Babbler in the grid today !
I will work on it, Bo---my driveway was plowed out twice on Monday and then again yesterday morning. That's how much we got.
8 below zero here in Vermont, with some snow and more on the way.
Brrr Gail ! Like the snow, but not the temperatures that come with it !
at 8 below i do not miss vermont right now
Brr, gail. We had a deep freeze Monday + yesterday. Now it's up to 22 F.
My poor dog froze his feet this morning. Too cold for him, too.
it's 35 here
**ploughing out Scrabs Drive for free**
{{Gail's Dog}}
Hee, yes. He looked at me like "Why are you doing this?"
**sending special dog wellies**
I might get him some booties, they would help him.
meta
morning everyone
Morning Eva !

HI everyone. My latest habit seems to be to announce my presence with a slip. I think I have brain freeze.
Hey Katie !

1 more shift at work today, and I have 5 off !!
*now recalling that words CAN + DO begin with vowels*
ROFL Scrabs !
yw
I do this everyday, Aussie--forget to start words with a vowel!
All the 8 letter words are in8's !
It is too early for 8's
it's too early - period!
Yes, I want to crawl back into bed but I have to work all day
the 8's are some of the easier words in thie grid
its 12pm here and still too early!
speaking of work, it's time to go - have a great day everyone
the e in the second column is making me bonkers
i'm pretending it's not there eva

second 1/2 of each is what you capture a fish in
clue for ep46
ep 4/6 a long poem, book or movie
ty bchon
Hi Babblers
yvw
hi hego
Hi Flosey
Clue for the first in8?
hi all
jmc, how ya doing?
Long time no see
Judi, it builds from the first in6
i am fine hego
I have the bug problem and the crest/seal. Need the first one.
Morning everyone. How are you this AM; and how's the grid?
that's the one I clued Judi, builds from the next word down
Hi Nef
Don't have the in6/36 yet.
Nef, someone told me that you are also an ICU nurse.
singular of previous word Judi
Nm. Got it now.
Judi, notorious
I was; for 34 years. An on the job injury ruined *that* career; so now I'm a Nurse Manager for a prenatal clinic for low income women (another job I'm loving)
hi nef
I also am retired and now volunteer at a free clinic for the uninsured.
Down to 55. Time for a break.
NBT
bye judi
wtg katie
I just had some ICU experience as a patient a week ago today! I had a thyroidectomy, was intubated overnight with a weird tube (that I kept writing noted to the nurses about: why I had it and how it worked, etc.) and was discharged home Christmas Eve! :-)
What type of clinic, hego?
Being a patient is the pits. Hope you're feeling better.
glad you are okay nef -- i saw last night a remark that you were not doing well but didn't see why
I've got a sore throat and a husky voice. Incisional swelling if I overdo (which seems to be every day so far). I can breathe LOTS better though; so I feel MUCH better.
We're a primary care facility. we have a gyn clinic (no OB). We Have a pedi clinic,do a lot of diabetic and metabolic syndrome.
hi jmc. I'm really doing well, considering.
what is the crest/seal word?
Just try to meet our pts needs. We're completly free and privately funded.
We deal with the majority of our pts. being the working poor who don't have insurance (because they can't afford it).
Feel better Nef.
very cool hego
We have essentially the same patient population as you do.
Tx jmc. We do great work, I think.
very cool nef
that's neat, hego. Funding is the pits. We have 2 half-time RN's (one of which is me), 2 RNs who do ultrasounds for 8 hours per week, and we pay 1 RN 1 hour per month to do lab hours. Otherwise I have 22 volunteer RNs who I set up schedules for to run the clinics
All of our docs and most of the nurses are volunteers.
The clinic is run almost completely by nurses, which, I think makes the level of care excellent.
clue for the 5/14 after "what we eat". I've tried plural.
do you deliveries too hego?
thanks, jmc. Our pt. population includes 21 ethnicities, and over 60% of our women are between the ages of 20-29; 25% are married, and we only have a 13% c-section rate (we have Midwives (CNMs) who see our clients and the deliver them in a hospital)
dints
dints diode
os
No we have no obstetrics. We're more like a doctors office.
sorry, sorry, sorry
thanks, rumple! :-D
no o's Rumple
hi rumple *quickly scrolling through the chog for words*
rats i already had the one that was good :-(
kids. sheesh.
Aaah, poor jmc.
I am really sorry. Just monkeying to get the 5/14 after "what we eat"
hi hursh
ten cent piece and pl, rump
tx Hursh
ty hursh
i'm at in-laws - leaving today - and i was peacefully dozing in and out in the process of waking up - stretching around luxuriously and generally being snoozy. then i open my eyes and six year old niece is standing 3 feet away. scared the crap out of me.
help with the E singleton pls
LOL Hursh :-D
lol hurshy hope you managed to keep the language clean
en6 pavel chekov
lol hursh i remember that feeling both with my niece when i was younger and my son later
don't you hate it when you monkey and monkey for a word and then it's sitting there staring you in the face? I've been working on NBT and just couldn't find that bottom row N til now!
great clue hursh lol!
my language is always clean so that wasn't really an issue
that's good, not sure a 'bad' word wouldn't have slipped from my lips in similar circumstances
fireworks
i just said, oh! hi, krista.
Nef, my favorite is when I make up a word and it's correct!
whoo hoo anike
so I need one clue from the lower i for nbt before I go catch my plane
as long as "scaring the crap" out of you was just LITERAL.... ;-)
ty - now I must start getting food ready for tomorrow nite
congrats anike
Where you going, jmc?
torgone is an im3 ...
home -- i have been in Austin for 2 days
immortal?
YAY, anike! WTG!!!
it was NOT literal, that would be a mess!
Hi all...............clue please for ri6/24 please?
Stay there, it's freezing here.
nm I really gotta go! lol bbl
*poof*
lower I has words about someone in prison
i see a bad moon ri6
good morning
I did say that wrong, didn't I? sorry Hursh
Gotta go - happy babbling
good morning hurshy, jane, flask, and all others who came in while I was deep in grid
hi Jane
hi harp and flosey
It's a warm day here in Souther New England, it's supposed to go up to 30F
hi Nef
LOL Bichon
Yesterday the wind was so bad garage cans were flying around
Here in NJ also bichon
*garbage
thanx Hurshy!
it's 12 degrees (F) here, supposed to get to 24 today, but that may bring more snow (Minneapolis, MN)
i hate it when my garage cans start flying around. esp if the lids aren't on the paint ones tightly.
A balmy day in the Twin Cities, huh Nef?
low 30s here in florida
Cold ashley
freezing my bum off lol
no laughs, eh? ah well.
I bet the Floridians put on their snow parkas when it's 30 LOL
not bad, but at this time of year we have low te*** when the sun is shining and "balmy weather (in the 20's) when it's cloudy
i know i did lol
could someone get me started on the E's? thanks
Ashley, does that work as a weight loss plan?
OMG i soo wish it did
lol
ep 4 is a great story, en 6 is a Navy rank
I have a picture of myself in the Everglades in Feb wearing a winter jacket
ei 4 is most of the goose down
thanks
i had about an inch of ice on my car window this morning
actually, being slightly chilled DOES burn more calories as your body tries to keep you warm. so if you keep your house a few degrees cooler, it can be a part of a weight loss plan.
thanks for the info hurshy ill keep that in mind
We're going to have a blue moon on New Years Eve. But the moon doesn't have a blue color, it's just a rare se ond full moon in a month
so does drinking a cold beer burn more calories than drinking a warm one?
I'm sure chipping that ice off would burn some calories too
um... well... you're adding calories with the beer, so i'd recommend just not having one.
That's no fun Hursh
but everybody knows beer is a major source of empty calories, it's not my fault
beer may be full of empty calories but it's full of LOVE!!
We're talking fun, Hurshy, not nutrition.
anyone have a clue for the et 6?
but we WERE talking weight loss, and then someone brought the beer in...
et6 rhymes with vi*****
(vi******* and minerals)
et-estimated time of arrival + it's not yours it's m***
et words all start with first 6 letters, et + take your vi*****
I think that was a joke Hursh, but of course you're right.
mine
oops! so sorry!
ty flosey
but yes, i would imagine if you are GOING to drink beer, it would be better to have it cold. which is what people seem to prefer anyway, so.
add a vowel to the et6 and you get the et7
yw bichon
and a cons. does the same
fireworks here, and must run, be back tonight for flip
bye flosey
Bye Flosey
ty Nef
Need bottom n for nbt
hego, try a number
a number
ty, ty Nef
(that's what slapped me with a fish while trying for NBT)
And Bichin
what are the stats for the i?
yes, everyone I entered was the other n.
in 8/50
in 8/60
I don't know yet, harp. I only have in 6/21 and in5/10

hi Une :)
Hello
Get ready for a Blue Moon tomorrow night
the reaper is pacing in anticipation
hi Unea, sprite, and BR
ah good. If you like, I can sharpen his blade
hi nef
:-D
am happy with the very low K ratio of late
"low K ratio" sprite? what does that mean?
thanks nbt now
fe 6,27 pretty please
very few Ks in grids lately
plural of fe5/16
Ahh! NOW I understand!
BRB
thx
my brain goes dead when it sees a K. Can't think up enough words to gray out K tiles.
yw :-)
same here, sprite!
not too crazy about all the i's in this one either . . .
:D So glad it isn't just me
no, i words are a challenge in itself. Most vowel tiles actually. And Y and Z can freeze up my creativity as well, sometimes.
am i missing lots of gerunds? only have 5-6 so far . . .
just started the grid and found only 3 so far. Does't tell anything though of what to expect yet
just wondering . . .
am wondering with you. Many gerunds are phantoms today, that is for sure
it seems to be going quickly for me, lots of four letter quickies
(omg, what have i just said....)
harp LOL!
LOL harp
good morning everyone;)
hey, crossy

one of the best tapas we had at spring babble meetwere fried dates with bacon
so how do you make brown sugar coated bacon?
you wrap the stuffed dats then roll in borwn suagr then bake
pardon my typos
thanks, we will certainly try those
ever notice that bacon is the food you add to other food to make it all taste better?:)) and bacon bits, they are like fairy dust, just a little sprinkle and yer all set;)
can stuff dates with nut of your choice
but they won't make you fly though, crossy
lol a bacon fairy cannot achieve take off velocity, too much wight;)

Hi Hey sprite and harp and all. Changed my icon spritey :)
ohhhhh! Love your geese :D
got it thanks
They made me laugh so thought it would be good for an icon.
am still laughing, good geese!
Thought of crossy today as I made a big pot of vegetable soup and then choppe dup the remains of a roast bacon joint and added it to the pot. My freezer is groaning under all the cooking I have been doing :)
for my icon you need to read some of my write-up... my geese grow on a tree.
sounds delicious
It is - had a bowl as a very late lunch - can't beat home cooking for taste and economy. Love yr icon and write up too sprite, we did chat about it yesterday .
oh that is true, you were with us. Must soon get used to having you around again more often :)
86 left and all the words are running together now lol
I would calculate the whole soup costs about £4 and I will get about 10 meals out of it.
Keep digging Ashley and you will find them.
so true, FM. Homecooking in the Netherlands is the norm, eating out is very expensive and I think about 90% of the people cook their own meals.
Hi all....clue please for the lonely wee E on the right hand side please?
en6/24 on a ship
hi flask
hi Flask, someone on a ship or space ship. en6
Hi Flask I thikn that is the one we just clued, harp beat me to it :)

Hi Mitch!
Happy inbetween Flask - hope you are well.
Ooops....and Sprite.....and didyou all have a good christmas??

YEs thanks, as the snow thawed and was able to get over to parents on the day!
am more and more invisible, it seems, in babble. Yeah, very good Xmas, and you?
Ata!!!!!
hi Ata, long walk and low on energy, or just low on energy?
just low on energy
It was nice and quiet Sprite....with my son, his fiance and of course my beautiful grandson!!!
wish I knew something to get you back in form. Stupid flus have taken too much out of you. Kill them!
*passes bowl of recently made soup with a hunck of crusty bread*
and fed up of daleks!
oh I needs must see that icon, am checking now, Flask
Flask - grandson is such a cutie.
I'm getting there slowly :)
oh such a fine face! He is lovely, Flask.
Leave the pic alone then Ata, start something else and come back to it if it feels right.
Oh I just love him....
and you being so patient and all, right Ata ;)
it feels fine, it's just a looooooooong process
thanks Sprite....
and I'm impatient
oh dear, do you have a daleks assignation?
a self-inflicted one lol
he looks very lovable, Flask. So he is going to have a doting grandma? Very good for him, and you :)
Is he gaining weight well now Flask?
ah even better, Ata.
Went and ordered my new bed today - can't wait, am fed up of sleeping on a matress on the floor.

TO!
Yes Sprite...Am making it my mission to spoil him....lol
why is that, Flask?
good mission :D That is what grandparents are for, I always think
she thinks if he is on the breast for 10 mins or so, then he's had enough....even sooner if he stops for a rest!
to be honest, am worried sick about it!
oh dear, I hope she will learn soon then. Small babies especially can take several breaks, just to rest before drinking more. But you know that and you told her, I bet.
10 mins sounds bad enough!
lol Ata this is one conversation neither of us can join in with any useful stuff!
lol Ata... if they are strong and suckle hard, they can have enough in a minute. But normally, 15 - 20 minutes of suckling and cuddling... at least!
Well am hoping her own mother will tell her.....it would be easier coming from her.....
nope! phew :)
she may take it as a slight on her, coming from me!
Yes thats what I think too!
yes, that is true, unless you have a strong bond with her. Does she go to some consultation with him?
but in all seriousness I do hope that the new Mum will get used to what the little ones needs are.
well, if he gets stronger and needs more, he will tell her. Loudly. And mothers are biologically programmed to get it on their nerves of that sound ;)
Well there has been a mid-wife out to see her......and she doesn't seemed concerned..
(((FM)))
Oh for heavens sake, just changed channels and MAry Poppins is on! I remember seeing that when it first came out (shows age) :)
awww Mary poppins, delightful.
(((crossy))) - I was mentioning you just a little while ago!
Well I hope he starts telling her soon!!!
my ears were burning;0
what in the world is the last letter of fourth Pi 5, My monkeys are exhausted
his bacon ears were sputtering
of course the subject was bacon
lol sprite
Ata, how long is the journey between you and I now? Save me looking it up on multimap.
Good afternoon everyone. If you feel a great heat coming from this chat it is me... I am fuming .
inge, add a vowel to the end of the liquid measure.
how long does it take you to get to the big horsham - worthing road?
hey elder, great to see you. What got your hackles up?
Good afternoon Haz!
elder! haz! glitterata!
hi haz
um about 8 mins Ata Hi elder!
in that case *thinks* probably about an hour - hour ten
Hello all!
Hello all the Babble girls and Crossy.
that makes you neighbours
Hi Haz and Elder...
oooh yay - we must set a date and I will come visit you for a change :
thanks Haz, got it and fireworks
whenever you want!
Congratulations, inge!
Have read that petrol is going up yet again and then renewed my TV license on line and it has also risen in price.
elder - what has you fuming? Congrats inge!
but wait for nicer weather, beach walks aren't so nice in the rain :P
everything goes up, except the wages, elder. Frustrating, isn't it.
will be cheaper to pump oil out of the ground ourselves soon
di 6/24 anyone? I've been searching and searching...
true but how about I just come visit and see the house and meet sily and have a coffee befure we launch into long beach walks? *whispers aside - I an't fit enough for long beach walks*
di6/24 - compound word, something you'd use to take fish out of a tank
thanks haz
no-one said long :D
thanksm Haz---I was getting so frustrated
You lets us know when you hit some Ata and we will all come and do our bit. I have seen that old film with John Wayne so have a rough idea of how to get the oil :)
You're welcome - and it plurals, as well.
compounds can hide in full view
but I suspect you won't leave Silverclaw's side :)
yes--that finishes my D's
Quick straw poll of the UK babblers - what are you paying per litre for unleaded? I am paying between £1.8 and £1.12
FMitch. just catching up..have you moved yet from the B&B to new home ?
£1.06 - 1.09
£1.08
I haven't got the baldiest notion. Is that a terrible admission?
YEs moved form hotel to home on the 26th Nov - love it but still getting sorted.
Haz that is shocking!
between £1.08... £1.12 and with the increase we must not forget more VAT to be added.
I know. I filled up a week ago and it was $42 something for a Renault Clio. Does that sound right?
Intersting so we are all paying around the same price. True elder keep forgetting that VAT is going up come the new year.
good thing about U.K though even with the high petrol prices is the short distances...try over here, takes 2 weeks to drive out west lol
mine's the cheapest *smug*
Haz, I hope your not running on tractor farm petrol....
lol crossy - but you guys pay about nothing for a gallon
Maybe the VAT increase is the reason people are flocking to the town. Queues of people, hordes of them. Have they no houses to sit in?
we pay 1.05 a litre or about $4.20 a galon (U.S)
Crossy may be shorter distances but with our snarl/ grid locks it takes longer and users more petrol by changing gear etc.
perhaps liam neeson's at home
I still get through a tank of petrol getting to sister's and back
wow those prices have change crossy - the US used to be so cheap on petrol.
give or take, our galloon had 4 oz more than the american, but that was so long ago, imperial measure does not matter..maybe the states will join the rest of the planet soon:0
he's in canada ;)
sorry I know you are Canada
I just saw the $ sign and went into wrong mode :(
Crossy, That's a lot I thought you were roughly the same price as the USA
lol
I know! wish these canadians would use C$ like everyone else :P
no elder, there is a big disparity tween us and canadian prices
lol ata we use the $ sign as well
Are there no Americans here? Does that mean we can talk about them?
excellent!
Crossy are you near to the USA border ... fill up over there., but I guess your not otherwise you would have.
Haz, Lurking I suspect :)
Start playing the Star Spangled Banner and see if they stand up. That'll flush them out.
i am 3 hours north of states border
quite a ride for a lower price
[fly on the wall in New Jersey - listening intently]
waiting to see who we insult next
Haz. 'giggles'
Hey JBV!
I knew that would make them identify themselves.
Hello, JBV!
lol,and i dont want to get stripped searched every time i need a tank of gas lol
hi JBV, hehehe
just tuning in - I guess that's a good thing, i will NOT scroll back, proise
*promise
Star Spangled Banner. THere must be a Spangle joke in there somewhere
Crossy, a bit too far unless, you know someone who has a HGV container to make it worth while :)
insult away. I think you just hurt my feelings.
Oh you should have wrapped one round Hobbits cone of shame :)
hi snags
We were very restrained, JBV, we said nothing. Not even crossy.
sokay jbv,the only jab i did was the U.S hanging on to the old measurement system;0
no Cone of Shame any more :)
hi sprite
Hello Snags and JBV.
i nominate you to the Babble Diplomatic Corps, haz
Back in a mo or two - need tea.
second that motiong jbv
Thank you, JBV. I've been really good lately, haven't I? I took a distance learning course from the Henry Kissinger School of Not Putting Your Foot In It.
but it is crazy,i actually had a woman in my station with U.S plates who was angry at me cause my pumps did not dispense fuel in gallons lol
crossy, as a former teacher of students learning English (and the old English measurements) I totally agree with you
LOL, haz
I hope you told her to get back behind the US lines.
You can't trust fuel in litres. It might be foreign.
can anyi give me a cllue for fe/5- 20
she wanted to know where the nearest station was with gallon pumps and i pointed south and said "3 hours or so that way" lol
lolllll
my grandkids are not being taught metric measurement even today.
fe5/20 - to pretend, to give an impression
feisted
did FM just go and make tea without offering us any?
Hmm... Do I need to defend the honor of the USA?
She did.
I prefer the old measures I don't like the new and refuse to use them, so there >>
that's outrageous
that is wild snags..
hi Vic, first think against whom before you try
Hi fellow babblers!
I use soem strange mix of both, but mainly decimal
how is our grid today?
Hello, VIcuna! Yes, you must step up to the plate. (Horrible expression, if you ask me)
you should maybe teach it to them at home,i mean if they ever travel it might come in handy
hi beachb
where did that expression come from?
Against everyone, I would think, Sprite! That's usually the case!
is American football.
but even so fish will always be in pounds and beer shall forever be in pints hehe
Cross, I know. We talked about this just last week. Geez
Hello, beach. It is of reasonable length and passably civilised.
why can't you just enjoy the game, and not go around insulting people all of the time
lol Vic, then don't. It won't be long before everybody disagrees with everybody anyway.
see?
there is no insult intended, just chatting robbie
Who's insulting anybody?
Speaking for myself, we certainly learned metric, but we never *used* it, so it doesn't come naturally.
yes, beer is forever in pi5 :)
mm off to the pb i go
Hello, robbie, it's all just teasing, not meant to be taken seriously.
Oh dear .. what's happening have I lost some chat ?.
which is good, because pi5 are bigger than most glasses.
you were already there, crossy
I agree Vicuna
good boy, crossy
good morning....
lol sprite
Things over here are labelled in metric but I always ask for meat by the pound. Younger people cope better as they are taught in school. I can't think in centimetres.
hi Pinik
howdy pini
OOPS im sorry I meant fe/6 -33
wish I believed that Crosshair but I don't. Problem is, we the backbone of the USA take the brunt of dislike for our citizens because of the people we continue to elect to Washington.
now you are bringing up politics.. oh boy..
just fooling around, snags. I know what you mean, but that is not the case now.
no, politica
snags, honestly, I don't think anything we say here reflects any dislike of Americans. It's just good-natured teasing.
not our fault you have so much to tease :P
lol
ok, now I did scroll back, step up to the plate is from baseball, not football
Looks like your correspondence course really worked, Haz! (Ata's not so much! lol)
Please don't take things seriously, it's just like teasing members of your family.
Vi!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks JBV, didn't know that
ooooh ty JBV
FMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
Snags ... no one has said anything nasty today or any another as far as I can see.
home plate
I know, we need to get Ata signed up quickly.
if anyone is taking offense at at my mild teasing please tell me
probably. but my skin is thin. No more comments from me.
Hiiiiiiiiyyyyyyyyyyyy everyone!!!!!!!!!
No offense taken here!
ok, I am outta here, before the fun teasing will be made into something it never was. Bye all, have fun.
Heya movieman
Hello, movieman!
JBV close, nearly there. :)
i do not believe in teasing family members.
ok,on that note ill stop
Hey mm!!! How are you?
Bye, sprite, see you again.
*pats snags comfortingly*
sorry to offend
it's ok, elder, just don't quiz me on rugby or cricket
I'm cool!!!!!
Okay, robbie, I'll say nothing more.
Wow, movieman is cheerful today.
Bye Sprite, :)
Bye, sprite!
that's what family members are for
Getting excited 'bout seeing 'avatar' next week
you always are mm :)
bye Sprite!
JBV nor me on those games.
I saw "Avatar" a couple days ago.
Oh I saw the prog on how it was made it look really good!
Oooh yes! I want to see Avatar, too
He's used up a lot of !!, that's what I note.
what did you think, Vi?
was the movie good?
lol Haz
did it tease americans?
Hello Movie and anyone else I may have missed.
Will it be loud? They turn up the volume to an incredible degree.
shhh Ata ;)
crossy makes note not to tease bout the imperial measurement system and pours himself a pint of ale;)
Well, I didn't actually care for the 3-D. I would have preferred a nice sharp 2-D. But that aside, it was beautifully done. Nothing original in the story, but that's okay because it was a good story well-told. I liked it.
*passes crossy a sneaky bacon buttie*
I always wear earplugs at all movies, Haz. They're all too loud for me.
Crossy.:)
Thank goodness I'm not the only one, Vi.
people either seem to love it or hate it
mmm bacon..you always were my favorite fm;)
*thinks, no idea where nearest cinema is now* - must make note and google it.
bushels of gratitude to you, crossy
you are so easily swayed crossy, you strumpet :) HOw is dear MRs crossy?
she is fine fm:)i think she will be in the chog shortly
*ponders can a man be a strumpet and if not what is the male equivalent*?
yes, they certainly can
Just noticed that you have a bacon flag, crosshair. Most excellent.
lol jbv,bushels,pecs,drachmas, stones and all;0
Traditionally, FM, all the equivalent words for males are actually terms of admiration, and all the equivalents for women are insults. So I think go with strumpet.
im cheap,but not easy;)
gm
or was it easy but not cheap...mmm
Hello, kje.
yeah right crossy - someone waves bacon under your nose and you are there :) Hi kje!!!!!
Hello, kje.
hello Kje.
hello brits!
Hi all, just darting in and out while fixing lunch and napping. Cold here and very snowy. Can't get out of our driveway to go anywhere.
Hi rumple!
Hello, rumplestiltskin.
Hello Rumple.
lol rumple, took us 2 hours to dig out yesterday
Either your driveways are too long, or you've got too much snow, or you need to get bigger buckets and spades, crossy.
tr6?
lol haz
Someone say BACON? Hello everyone.
tr6 - is sad in French
there is my better half;)
Hello Elegant
Hello, Elegant.
Hello, Elegant, bacon is never far from the conversation.
I saw a post from Scrabbler earlier saying that she had her dive dug out twice on Monday and once yesterday - can't imagine what it is like to live with that much snow.
we're going to have bacon-wrapped sausages tonight
weirdly enough, there is a plastic container full of cooked bacon in the fridge today at work... no idea who they belong to but was tempted to steal one
Greetings Elegant.
it can be an adventure haz
Poor Scrabbler living in a dive?
yes, i know.... going
*sigh* you know what I mean.
next she'll be living in a kennel
*snickers at FM* =P
It certainly gives you something to focus on during the winter months - getting rid of snow!
:|
But we all know that creatures who live in kennels are spoilt.
Thanks for the warm welcome. I know if my hubby is around the topic of bacon always comes up. (:
*in the absence of Lori - lobs a waterbomb at Vi*
Scrabbler's dive? Dear me, has she been neglecting her study of LoriP's excellent treatise on Good Housekeeping?
Hello, torgone, nearly didn't see you there.
*waterbomb freezes into solid ice by the time it reaches Vi's desk. Vi is knocked out on the floor*
why the face, tor?
Hello torgone.
Hello, tor.
Just keeping quiet about snow and cold ..
Where's caitlyn? Babbler down, babbler down.
Oh heck I didn't mean that to happen! Lobs pot of cooling soup at Vi to un freeze her.
Oh, join in and have a good moan, torgone.
Hi torg
Darn should have not thrown the pot as well as its contents - medics!!!
as Vi runs to the nearest burns unit
hello all
no tr6 clue?
Unless, torgone. you're sunning yourself on a beach somewhere, in which case, don't tell us about it.
kje, already given, it's sad in French (tr6)
Hello, TO!
a clandestine meeting kje
oh, sorry, missed it in the flow
kje is having a clandestine meeting with tor?
ty, thought I had treid that like a million times
any clues for gi5/14?
And the rest of us are sad about it.
lol TO
*comes to groggily* Wha...? Where am I? What kind of soup was that, anyway?
well it's out now, no secrets in babblonia :d
gi5/14 - plural the gi4/6 at the begining of the sequence.
gi 5/14 is pl of the third 4/6
vegetable and bacon (homemade)
actually, I have had a mtg with tor... not clandestine though ; )
aaaah i love a chog full of sex and vioence early in the morning
She says 'homemade' as if that's going to lessen the sting.
What is he like kje? you have to tell now.
bacon, veg and rocks
As if being clocked over the head with Campbells condensed would be worse.
yaa for sex and violence!(with bacon)
well what would you rather be hit with - some preservative laden sodium full brew
quiet, very nice and gentlemanly, likes sweets
And frozen soup is hard to take in any case.
This chat is way too esoteric for me today.
lol @fm
It would have been better HAz as my stock pot hold a whole lot more than a can of soup!
I know, I can't get my head around chilled soups, so frozen soup would be even worse.
Good point, FM. One nice petit can would have been better.
sorry kaplin, the chog can often go off on many tangents when im around
Looking up esoteric...
I can see that crossys fantasy would be to be whipped with bacon strips
thx Haz
Everything around here is frozen, water, soup, me...
bad image, bad image... why did you do that FM?
*chokes on cocoa* FM!
You're welcome, bojazz.
*passes Vi an ice pack and a bunch of flowers to make up*
Don't apologize to me- I am not a bacon fan.
Steady on, FM. What DID you put in that soup?
Oh good, an ice pack. That's just mean, FM! lol
ladies, ladies...let'snot forget that we are ladies
But the frozen flowers are quite pretty.
*apologies - blame crossy, he brings out the bacon in me* :)
No, ladies of dignity and decoroum and with certificates from Diplomacy School.
Don't forget I haven't really been able to babble properly for almost 2 months - I have to let off a bit of babble steam!
Except for Ata who was expelled for not trying.
now remember, bacon is not all that i am,i have many interesting facets like...mm..well...i like...my other interests are..mmm oh well..books and bacon!
As you are whipping crossy with bacon, FM, don't forget to hold out your pinky and enquire politely as to how he likes his rashers done.
(I'd advise everybody to sit a few feet back from their monitors)
lol let it fly fm;)))
It sounds as though FM is about to blow!
ROFL
I do like baco's though.
I don't need to try. We had etiquette lessons at school
*huddles behind protective wall of ice fort*
pi6?
LOL - it is safe to come out now, honest.
Of course, I forgot about the etiquette lessons. And of course, FM specialised in dancing at her school. Happy days.
this chat is like a soap opera - if you missed the beginning, you don't know diddly
Ata's etiquette'll take your skin off.
pi6 - get to a gerund by means of a pastry dish.
Haz was just busy sewing
y!
ty!
Yes, sewing and getting it ripped out. Not that I've been damaged or anything.
would not have thought to gerund a pastry
no, that's been whipped with too-crispy bacon strips
That pi6 is what we haven't had enough of in the chat recently. *prepares some pi4 for throwing*
thx again Haz
Blast. The twitch has started up again.
Ok I walk away for a few and my hubby is being whipped? What did you do My Dear?
in honor of soupy rip one of the year's casualties
*being
No problem, you're welcome. There are some weird gerunds here today.
yup she was using her etui given to her by her husband for Christmas :)
I don't think Mr Haz would get any dinner if he gave her an etui
If he ever gave me an etui, I'd lose my diplomatic accreditation.
oooh the mummers parade
Oh dear, it's time to feed the in7 here. Try not to damage each other too badly while I'm gone!
thanks for the heads up
See you soon Vi!
is going on it was in some doubt for $
Moment of silence for Soupy.
We'll be good, VI.
in7?
except for FM, obviously
in7 -those who dwell in prison cells.
People in prisons perhaps TO
(in7 - those who dwell in a prison, madhouse, or my family)
or in asylums ;)
*waves farewell*
or is that asyla?
or some in babble land *cackles maddly*
True. We just call them Homes for the Bewildered.
ty Vicuna, just what I was pondering about
with a neighborhood for the memory impaired?
(I'm really worried about FM. She's cackling, she's whipping people, it's all very strange)
Haz can I have a couple of your blue and pink pills please? Either that or a shot of the cooking sherry?
That is always what they call President Bush's Ranch by the way
LOL
The memory impaired just have to make an effort to remember. I do it every time I go upstairs. 'What am I up here for?'
don't give her any sherry
Hi ruru
do you think that is his new secret service code name? bewildered?
hi everyone
There's to be no mixing of pills with drink. You know what happened the last time, FM, and I'm not going to bail you out again.
yes they are probably not trying. like ata
Hello, ruru.
hi ru
*gasp*
Um HAz, sorry to break it to you but it was I that sprung you last time!
Hi ruru
I'm very trying. My Mother always said so
:D
ohof all things. i missed the liquor in the grid till just now.
But trying in the most positive sense of the word.
not usually no LOL
ma7?
back again, no use trying to catch up, I'll just jump in with a Christmas sleigh-full of post-it notes for the memory impaired - can't live without 'em
gee it is quite a festive gird today. has the makings of a cocltail party and entertainment too
anyone have either the pe 6 or pe 6?
good move jbv - post it notes are brill.
pe6 - PT of the pe4
past tense bichon
pe6 - past tense
pe6/24 - pt of the pe4/5 before it
ma7 - what you'd call an Italian conductor but with a different last vowel
ty Haz & FMithch
Hi bichon
Or, to the plural Miss West (ma4) add three letters that indicate three.
my guess is that is a plural?
I imagine so, but my Italian is of the shaky variety.
ty haz
Time for me to go and get the soup into containers ready for the freezer - lovely chatting and see you tomorrow.
mine is of the profanity variety.
You have a shaky Italian?
Hi all - a joke I heard. Vicar visiting an elderly parishioner 'Mabel have you given any thought to the hereafter?' 'Vicar everytime I go into a room I think what am I in here after'!!
fm hope to see you tomorrow, i am supposed to see back door slam at noon
Bye FMitch and good to hear your settling in your new home.

Yes. We'll just take five minutes. Do carry on, elder and I have some thinking ahead.
love your "book" list Haz
sigh....:)
Thanks, bojazz. I haven't added to it in a while. There are bound to have been new publications in time for Christmas.
first in8,60?
heigh ho
in8 - plural of the following 6
and thanks for the in
in8/60 - plural of the in6/36 after it. Plural word for acts of treachery or treason that make people well known for the wrong reasons, perhaps?
ty kje

whoo hoo cyber
no just a big layover
here at pearson im told it is taking an extra 3 hours cause of that bombing attempt
i was worried earlier this week it might be dicey but the weather cooperating
in europe it is. i have breezed through both times on this trip
Vancouver had up to 5 hour delays -- on top of all the increased security, the computers went down and everything had to be processed manually.
di 6/24? anyone ???
the guy in front of me was carrying bundled christmas tree lights and they frisked him -- rightfully i thought
hi all....clue please for in8/50 please?

its so silly how people react to making a mistake
ty DR
its better to give a bit just to get it off yer plate i say
anyone want a clue before I leave?
i suppose i can still sue him. i am sure his coming to house in front of neighbors would be construed as duress
no thanks Nan- just getting started
however i havebetter things to do
oh but why bother at this point TO
have a great day
keeping the lawyers in business, TO?
no thanks cyber
no nan, the ignorant tree surgeon is
i hate legal wars so much that ill give a little ground just to end things
you owuld have to see the arrogance of this guy first hand to understand
usually that is a good plan crossy but not always
yes there are times when that will not work
i doubt the $100 he allowed me will pay to have someone take the damaged tree down.
there are people who make trouble just to get people to settle
well that is true TO
that was my lawyer's fear and mine - that he would not give me a bill that relfected the discount and would go on to sue me
huh I got nbt
I have never understood why people's first reaction is to sue -- no wonder the cost of things is so high -- it is the vendor/manufacturer's insurance costs that are putting retail prices up.
i mean he sent 5 or six bills since i asked for one
lol cyber, wife and i have a good laugh over those lawyer commercial from the states
i agree cyber and unfortunately there are lawyers who will help them
nan: this guy damaged a healthy tree that was not on the contract and refused to make good. what would you suggest a woman of limited means to do?
None of our GP's will deliver babies anymore because of the prohibitive insurance costs.
i now am forced to live with an eyesore i paid someone to create
sueing is like easy money now
in effect
not aournd here kc. juries are very very very tough
to an extent DRs brought that on themselves -- at least the doctors from the earlier generation who never admitted that a patient could have input or a right
Is the tree still growing? Will it not repair itself? -- as I don't know what happened, I can't say, other than I don't think he should have presented a bill at all.
the one i love the most is a procedure that saved a guys life but gave him diabetes, and he wants to be your lawyer so he can sue the doctor..personally ill take life in exchange for diabetes any day
my Mr is being sued from an accident where someone was chasing him down on his motorcycle. He tried to turn into a gas station and hit the front of another car...
oh too bad kc
to thepoint where folks who have a legitimate claim are denied because the insurance company can convince the jury the litigant is faking. i know this first hand. sw them satnd up and lie boldfacedly
kc insurance should take care of that
a guy tried to hold my son accountable (because he thought my son was 17) but we gave his insurance company a video that my son happened to be making
oops -- looks like I've opened a can of worms here -- sorry!
the litigation i mean
almost to teh day the statute of limitations is up and shes trying to sue HIM for 1/2 a mil!
Afternoon, all. Sorry to interrupt the legal flow, but i am desperate for the ma7/32
np cyber,i just find it amazing what people will sue over, its why we dont have house partys anymore, cuase i cannot be sending someone out my dorr drunk
they are now, and she won't get much out of it, but still... it's ridiculous! She's even trying to claim she lost hearing because of it. Just ridiculous
insane
the guy who hit me was high on heroin robbed gas stations to feed it and left scene and was not convicted. i doctored for three years
oops i lied I still need the C word
ma 7/32: plural orchestra conductors
nasty thing with pus
insurance company told jury this is why your rated go up
4 letter one, Ci ... like what jayk said.
ty jay and how are you
ci 4: lump usually filled with fluid
insurance co. still make amazinf profits
ty cyber
you know it, je. they appear so aggrieved and folks buy it
NOW nbt!
yw, jmc. the orchestra conducteors isn't quite working...
maestri
it is an italian word so think latin jay
OOPS!
google the singular
lol. well. there you go!
that's the one jay! ;-)
great clue jayk!!!:)))
so sorry!! slinking off...
wow. so clear.
I just can't see sueing over inconsequential things. I slipped in a puddle of melted snow inside Safeway just before Christmas and bruised my knee. I could still walk, it was sore for a couple of weeks and I had to visit the chiropractor to get the joint unjammed, but that was it. My neighbour thought I should sue --- I thought, why? -- save it for something important!
i just hope there's some bacon in there
what if you did ot have insurance or funds to cover?
jayk, you can clue for me any day;))
i am sure it is well supplied with bacon
nan... because it's... EASY MONEY!
crossy makes jayk a blt
mmmmm a little bacon for me too crossy!
If that question was directed to me, TO, it would have cost me a $45 bill at the chiro -- as it is, our insurance covers 80%
thanks for bacon, crossy. perhaps i'll just type the 209 that i have into this lovely, expandable chat box
crossy makes a bacon weave sammie for jmc
ooo lucky jmc!
Besides, it was a snowy day and you can't expect the employees to be everywhere at once with mop and bucket. If I hadn't been in such a rush, maybe I would have seen the puddle!
heavy on the mayo too, please, Crossy
but of course jayk
i am goign since it appears no one is listening. i am a normal honest person hit by a drug addcit and inured to the point where i gave up three years of quality life and the perpetrator was not convicted because the insurance co said the rates would go up, it was a scam, etc. BTW he rear ended me and admitted fault. not to mention i got the lawyer int he first place to fight my own insuranc eocmpany who denied me additonal physical therapy because i sholuld have healed after the first course per theri peer reviewers
My sister in SA is married to a Muslim - she comes over every two years and eats bacon every day for the first two weeks!!!!
so i say to all of you, when it happenbs to you you will change your minds
thing is, personal responsibility is just gone. To easy to blame someone else and get an easy payday, seems like a lot of people believe they're entitled to more
You should have received compensation for that, TO -- that is what I call a legitimate claim.
and you will not believe your eyes an your ears
sounds like you should report the insurance com to the state regulators TO
i have been there as well to,i got ran over like a dog in 79 and had my legs turned into shards,i can now set off airport detectors cause i have so much metal in my legs, and he got off scott free due to paperwork snafu...we have all been there to
My husband was rearended - the first accidenct he had ever had. The guy CRIED. Next time the policy was due my husband had lost his cno claims bonus - his crime? He repaired the car himself for about 1/8 of the cost.
ty for sharing crossy but we have not all been there
And get a good attorney
oh I believe it. it's not even a matter of right and wrong anymore, but who has the best lawyer etc. It's sad.
and on that note im off..this is getting bad..poof
actually kc the best lawyer doesn't always win
I was in a head on caused by a speeder skidding in the slush. Torn cartilage and 2 floating ribs, one week of agony and 2 years of therapy later, the insurance company paid out the "book" amount for such injuries. I didn't feel I'd been dealt with unfairly.
eh. the best lawyer, the best connected lawyer etc. Town I'm in, it's all about knowing the right people.
i am off too before the lawyer bashing starts -- I am not up to it today *picks up briefcase and head to the door*
*poof*
LOL no lawyer bashing! law period bashing!
clues anyone? -- otherwise I'm off til the flip...
well it is good to hear all sides. there is a dearth of that in chog at times
nan are you near olympic venues?
I only know one lawyuer, he is my nephew in law and he is FAB!!
no -- I live in Kelowna -- a 4 hour drive from Vancouver (in good weather) and about 6 hours from Whistler
tain
will you attend any events? i love the winter games
oops sorry
no -- they are very expensive, tickets were obtainable by ballot, and hotel costs are high. The one sport I would be interested in is the curling and that is best seen on TV!
i can imagine the cost!
Also, H1N1 is supposed to rear its ugly head in a third wave in February -- think I would rather avoid crowds.
Whoa .. We just had an earthquake ..
where are you tor?
wow tor!
hi all. how is everyone?
hi red
hi red.
Nan, i'd love to go to some of the games events, i think if you get on as a volunteer they give out passes...
I went to the winter olympics in SLC and found that tickets were very reasonable IF you picked some of the non-glamour events. Curling was extremely inexpensive; also x-ctry skiing, ski jumping were inexpensive and great fun. We also did luge - that was funny - you saw a sled for what seemed like a millisecond - it was all so silly we had a blast! I'd encourage any one to partake if they could - it was a once in a lifetime experience, and we did do it very inexpensively.
Hi, any clues for the IN8/50, please?
Not sure about that, red -- it's all set by now though
tor i take it it was not strong?
in 8: military logos
TYVM.
it probably is all set for volunteers by now. a friend of mine volunteered for the Atlanta and he got passes to a bunch pf events, but he sogned up a long time before the event.
How about the last SE6/21, for sparklies?!
i did not realize vancouver wash was relatively close to bc
yes. Event prices were set by Vanoc and they have done a good job of preventing scalping
se 6: group of 7
skating and hockey have high prices
Thanks a lot. Fireworks!
everything in WA is fairly close to BC!
then there some events we never even know about, the biathalon, xcountry skiing and shooting....
yay liz!
congrats liz
i would love to x country ski. except that i feel the cold terribly. so probably unlikely.
I'm with you TO -- only if it can be done at 68F or more!
Speed skating in the arena was reasonably priced - and you stay warm!
off to finish the laundry -- back at the flip. *poof*
clues for the di6/27 and 7/36 please
i have only done skiing once...
did you like it red?
i liked it i suppose, its not something i have an opportunity to do often.
i am a big speed skatig fan, buff girl, thats really neat!
apolo ohno
Morning all
hello lyn!
di6.24 & 7 . Di* a *** into the water and maybe catch a fish
Another hint for reasonable priced Olympics tickets - go to preliminary events instead of the finals. You can "get into it" at the prelims - and then enjoy the finals in front of the TV, without the exorbitant cost.
VANOC only just recently put out calls for volunteers - I can't imagine what they were thinking. In Calgary we took over two years training the volunteers.
Sorry to be out of that chat so long - I was THAT close to fireworks - only came up for air when I got there!
perhaps they are using a lot of paid help?
Congrats Helen!
Wow, helens
They must be - they've got recruiters out all over Canada looking for security staff - many of them to do things volunteers did in Calgary. But their police situation is tougher, with competition between the city police and the RCMP, which maybe shifted the security emphasis.
Thanks. It was a surprisingly easy grid (especially those words that I was blind to for ages!).
I kept forgetting to try gerunds, and lost all sense of is ther another -- (whatever letters) in the grid until I was growling at myself. But then I'd get one, and a whole batch would pop up. Won't happen often, must treasure it!
Going to get something to eat, see you later. Good luck all, and Happy New Year.
oh my where is crossy? watching cooking show making bacon wrapped artichoke hears
bye helens
(((choclit and hugs))) hello all!

thanks for that di!
hey stdmama check the clue at 1:05
thanks macc
I just have to make sure the coaches have plenty of food out and all is in order as well as keep "kids" out so coaches can have "quiet" time! I like that!!!
I always appreciate the quiet space, mcurl. Last meet, the volunteers had managed to finagle starbucks coffee from somewhere!
the last meet was actually REALLY nice, as I didn't have homework I had to do and could sit and visit with other judges and coaches.
my brother used to do wrestling in high school... he was pretty good until he switched to weightlifting (he was good at that too)
back from the PB to ask for help with the last st 4/4 and the INCREDIBLY elusive last se 5/12 and se 4/5
hey Jay!
wrestling is the sport of choice in my family. nephew won his class at this weekend's openournament
just saw the st
TO--babbling IS wrestling!
ah, in cleaning up the stidkids have found a "15" puzzle (actually 7x7) with one of escher's tesselations instead of numbers. one of my favorite time-waster pursuits!
well done TO!

such an honor!
my name is in the grid too - amy... just noticed.
coolio!
ok ... why isn't it accepting your name dc???
and your name just gave me my last 2 As
LOL oodle
my name's not English
what is it
welsh?
irish
well I protest it should be
ah gaelic
welsh is a gaelic language also
the initial sound in my name (sh) dose not exist in Welsh, though.
well that's what I thought
oh ok
you're probably sick of answering this one, but is it shane or shorn?
ithink it is shawn
LOL oodle, i meant the pronunciation
that's what I amsaying
ah, séain is said as shane :)
how do you get the accent over the e on the computer seain?
kewel
okey dokey then shane who rhymes with wayne
which reminds me, i went to college with a guy who's name was Wayne King. He changed his name to Max
you have to change your keyboard to gaelic or french bugs
I have a french computer so it is easy to me to do the é
who could blame him, gort
yes that was his smartest move
é on a PC is left ALT and 130 on the numeric keypad. on a mac, it's option e, then the e again
thanks seain
if you have a PC, you should have a program called "Character Map" which will give you the key combinations for all kinds of special characters, in all kinds of fonts.
didn't work....
J'oublie toujours que vous vivez au Québec, oodle.
oui
have to hold down the left alt key while typing 130 on the numeric keypad, then release alt
mais je pannifie à déménager
Oodle, dans quelle ville du Québec habites_tu? Je suis à Gatineau
séain got it!
i've gotten used to it due to typing in Spanish a lot.
yay bugs!!!
Qébec

J'ai aussi habité à Québec, j,ai bien aimé

non, pas du tout. Dans quelle ville voulez-vous déménager?
don't forget that les chaussettes de l'archiduchesse sont sèches et archi-sèches LOL

you guys were hiding that french from me all that time!! (impressed Enomis takes a bow)
funny how french loses it's romantic tones when belted out in a broad aussie accent
tx DC
oh no gort, it is still very impressive trust me!
Kan du tala Svenska?
i know a guy with fluent spanish, complete with an Alabama drawl
thanks eno, but i know that we aussies make all languages sound like we're swearing

lol
séain (practising now to remember it) how much of a polyglot are you? I am very impressed.
enomis depuis que je suis à québec j'avais de la difficulté à intégrer dans la société à Québec... je crois ça serait plus facile à Montréal ou bien Gatineau.
this is an awesome conversation, but i have to go and do banal and mundane things now. cheerio and aufviedersein and what not
happy whatnot gortmold
ok gort hagd
bye Gort, have a good NYE
haagen daas to you all
Gatineau et Montréal sont très bilingues - Québec est un peu plus fermé aux autres langues
lol
i have full fluency in 3 languages other than English, good functionality in French, and vary degrees of mostly reading in several others.
exacte
Mes enfants sont complètement biligues et mon beau-père qui n'est qu'anglophone aime beaucoup Gatineau
my great-grandpa moved to Montreal to learn English, as he had German and French already, and was Jewish.
hi again- I am back
wb, DR
hi DR
ty DC
oodle, je crois que Gatineau serait un bon choix parce que nous sommes tout près de Ottawa
Hi Lynxxx
my God dc what a great mix!
vous êtes tout près de la Captale du Canada
OUI
what is Gatineau? - I know it isn't cake
je sais seulement assez de français pour obtenir mon visage giflé dans une barre ;)
What's up, linguists?
Gatineau is the town in Quebec across the river from Ottawa, lyn
hi Kap
so séain why don't you work at the UN or an airport helping lost new arrivals? You have a huge talent there!
hello, kaplan
LOL crosshair
Hi Kaplan
j'ai oublié le nom de la Capitale... c'est pas bon pour un futur citoyen canadien eh
LOL crossy
c'est bon, oodle
ottawa oodles lol
UN is in New York City. I don't want to live there. I periodically try to get in with the Inter-American Development Bank, though.

On a related theme - my mom volunteered in an orphanage in romania in the 1980s. One of the other volunteer doctors was the first to discover that a lovely 13 year old girl who had been labeled as "hopelessly retarded" was in fact, merely deaf. That poor girl!

hi 6 27 anyone?
oh you weenies, it's like -25c here!
a trifle on the chilly side here as well seain. Will be eating leftovers for supper as I don't want to crawl out from under my blankie! LOL
welki, you are welcome to move south if you like!
welki, it's been 10c colder than usual here, at night it's -11c, which is very cold for here. OTOH, i used to live in Boston, MA, so i take your point.
oh man i couldn't sleep last night it was too hot
it's actually seasonally cool and rainy today, unlike a couple years ago when the skies were clear and we were well below zero many nights
about 26C over night
you down under, berri?
too hot? are you down under, berri?
snap seain!
yep in adelaide
ah, you're at mid summer then. I can hardly wait the 5 or 6 months to be in summer again... mostly because then the next two quarters will be over! LOL

last pi 5 pls?
ty nef
Thanks. I think that's great the boys enjoy meeting the babblers. Miss everyone here ... able to keep things posted in FB/Lexulous, don't always make it here.
thanks for those Nef. couldn't see them for anything!
pi + not a road and end with a vowel
still looking for hi 6
not a road??? sorry dont get it
Recovery is slow but she's coming along. Both happened same time week before my birthday. She gave us a good scare, my brother rescued her from Florida.
I'm stuck on the *other* y word. if you change the ending vowel to a cons. you have another yi 4/7
I have been the other way round muse -- post to twitter (automatic feed to facebook) from my cellphone, but little time at night for more than a half hour's babbling.
a shortening of road is rd but it's something similar
Nef: opposite of yangs?
oh yes it rhymes with di6 berri
same word different first letter berri
I'll have to brush up on twitter now that I have an iphone.
i set up a twitter account to follow a webzine. I doubt i'll use it for anything else.
has the grad load gotten any easier to handle?
do you have di6 berri?
thanks, stid
thanks oodle i kept trying the wrong di6
but I do know how to post to FB through it :)
oops
sorry
so I miss a lot of what's going on with people... well over vacation it has been manageable! LOL I think next quarter (6 days away) will be easier just because I know what's going on!

you said oops... sorry again oodles!
thanks Nef and dc ;)
yes I did stid so there
go Nef go!
I have stopped being so obsessive about finishing grids. I decided life is more important
oh, stid; I still have a million to go!
hi, angel
life??? what's that???
hi, DC
I have finished only a few grids since the end of September, most days I go for halfway, or half an hour, whichever comes first.
Hi Stid, Nef and Angel
hey rumple! is mr. rumple better now?
Need any clues?
i'm unemployed, so this helps fill my days right now
Good evening folks ... back for a second stab
hi rumple. How are you tonight?
Not much, still can
at least you have some grands to spend time with, angelsong! how are they doing these days?
hello origami, nice to meet you
hey origami
any clues for se 5 & 6?
oh dc sorry to hear, hope the offers start rolling in soon for you
Not much, still can't get him to go to the Dr.
I'm waiting for Monday, when my normal work schedule resumes.
well I am not going to finish
babble was my motivator that one year I spent time at home between the years that I homeschooled and before I started volunteering so much in the schools.
seain, any offers lately?
seems like a million years ago that I was in the "finishes every grid" club! LOL
trying to get these words is worse than being contipated
gee whiz, rumple! I don't suppose "stern mama looks" work on him?
re good evening!
two interviews today, sadly the one most likely is in Gaithersburg, Maryland, which is a nightmare commute from here.
constipated I mean
I don't think I was in that exclusive club, stid. ;-) But I've had fun playing through the years anyway.
they are wonderful, stid! they are all thriving. I was talking to Dylan, age 5, not long ago about school. I asked if he was ready for colllege. He sighed, and said, "no, Grammy. Kindergarten!"
hi enomis, oodles
oodle... you went from French to constipation!!!
hey enomis!
stidmama and mymuse!!!
a natural progression, enomis... *wicked mama grin* French --> constipation
No Stid, "mean mama looks" don't work either.
salut enomis.... hi muse oui c vrai
hi enomis
what a great answer Dylan gave you! a bright lad, takes after his grandmother!

LOL stidmama
j'arrête lÃ

oui c'est mieux oodle!
lol specially when I only know vous le vous etc etc
are you stopping the grid?
qu'est ce qui est mieux
pourquois cher oodles? est-ce que la grid est tres dificile?
HAH! no, Nef, the MARC is not set up for reverse commute, and the trains would take twice as long as the traffic, as it requires going into the city and back out again.
oui
I have another 105 left and I am too lazy to go the lickety.
I think so, too, Stid.
trop difficile ma chère
and the Metro does not go out that far
stid - vous aussi vous parlez français!!!
